👑 RELEASE DAY REVIEW 👑 Thanks so much to @carrieannryanauthor, @nanamalonewriter, and @valentine_pr_ for letting me read an eARC of ENEMY HEIR, book 2 in the Tattered Royals series from Carrie Anne and Nana (but perfectly readable as a standalone).This is the second in the Tattered Royals series, but you definitely don't have to read the first to read this one (I didn't and it was fine!). Each book follows one of the Waterford siblings and their relationships, and this book is focused on the "playboy" brother, Breck. He's second oldest and lived life as the spare, but now that his parents have died and his older brother is king, he's now also the heir. He has cultivated a reputation as the bad boy, but there are big secrets about his pursuits that his family doesn't even know about. He has a hate relationship with Sparrow Bridges, part of the new security team working with the royal family (her boss married the sister, London, in book one). But they're forced to work together when a new threat materializes, and they find their hate turning to lust and maybe more. Enemies to Lovers is my favorite trope, so I definitely was interested in reading this! It was well written and had great steam, but at the same time I did just wish it was longer (these seem to be shorter novella-length books). I wanted more development of them going from enemies to lovers, whereas with the shortness of the story it happened really fast. That said, I loved meeting the Waterford family and want to go back and read book one and then continue with the series as more come out!
