Stiles- I Need You (Obsessed Part 5)
A/N- Sorry for the delay on this one, but part 5 is finally here! I’m thinking I might end the series with part 6. If you’d like to be tagged in the next part, please let me know!
Stiles sat in the chair across from Ms. Morrel’s desk, fiddling with the mesh on his lacrosse stick. The early morning sun was shining brightly through the windows of the guidance office. It was a nice day, but after the events of the previous week, he couldn’t bring himself to enjoy it.
Ms. Morrell had invited him in for a counseling session that his dad had pretty much forced him to attend. After the events of Matt’s murderous rampage and his subsequent death, Sheriff Stilinski had coordinated visits with the guidance office for everyone involved.
Stiles wasn’t sure if you or Scott had gone to yours yet. The three of you weren’t really talking.
He didn’t exactly want to talk either, but Ms. Morrell had sat him down in the cold leather chair and told him they could start wherever he wanted. As he strung the mesh into netting, looping it through his fingers over and over, he said the first thing that was on his mind.
“You know when you’re drowning, you don’t actually inhale until right before you black out. It’s called voluntary apnea. It’s like no matter how much you’re freaking out, the instinct to not let any water in is so strong that you won’t open your mouth until you feel like your head’s exploding.”
Stiles had researched drowning on one particularly sleepless night at the end of spring break. Scott wasn’t really talking much, and you were simply ignoring him. All he could think about was Matt and what he had done to you, and why he had done it in the first place.
After learning more, he concluded that Matt’s childhood trauma from being tossed into that pool wasn’t a good enough excuse, at least not for him.
“Then,” he continued. “When you finally do let it in, that’s when it stops hurting. It’s not scary anymore. It’s actually kind of peaceful.”
“Are you saying that you hope Matt felt some peace in his last moments?”
Stiles sighed, finally looking up from the lacrosse stick. Morrell gazed at him from behind her desk. Her expression was completely neutral.
“I don’t feel sorry for him,” he told her.
Morrell clasped her hands together in her lap. “Can you feel sorry for the nine year old Matt who drowned?”
Stiles frowned. “Just because a bunch of dumbasses dragged him into a pull when he couldn’t swim…that doesn’t really give him the right to go off killing them one by one.”
Ms. Morrell leaned back in her chair, studying him. Stiles could tell he was getting heated. His voice was getting louder and louder as he spoke, but he couldn’t stop himself.
“And by the way, my dad told me they found a bunch of pictures of Y/n on Matt’s computer...and not just of her though. I mean, he photoshopped himself into these pictures, stuff like them holding hands and kissing. You know, like he had built this whole fake relationship in his head. So yeah, maybe drowning when he was nine years old was what set him off the rails, but the dude was definitely riding the crazy train.”
He could practically feel his blood boiling as he explained what his dad had found. No wonder you had been so freaked out when you finally escaped from Matt. Stiles wasn’t sure what kind of sick fantasy he was trying to live out by kidnapping you, but whatever it was had clearly messed you up.
Ms. Morrell listened thoughtfully with one hand resting on her chin. “One positive thing came out of this though, right?”
“Yeah,” Stiles agreed. “Yeah, my dad got his job back, but I still feel like there’s something wrong between us. Just like...tension when we talk. Same thing with Scott.”
“Have you talked to him since that night?”
Stiles shook his head, twirling the lacrosse stick over in his hands. “No. Not really. I mean, he’s got his own problems to worry about. I don’t think he’s talked with Allison either, but that might be more her choice, you know? Her mom dying hit her pretty hard...but I guess it brought her and her dad closer though.”
He sighed, running a hand through his hair. “Jackson? Jackson hasn’t really been himself lately. Actually, the funny thing is, as of right now, Lydia’s the one who seems the most normal.”
“And what about Y/n? I know the two of you are pretty close.”
“We are...or we were. She hasn’t really answered any of my calls or texts, so…I don’t think she really wants to talk.”
“It’s typical to withdraw after going through something like she did,” Morrell informed him. “I’m sure she’ll reach out when she’s ready.”
Stiles nodded, but he wasn’t sure he believed her. The way you had flinched away from him in the Sheriff’s station had scared the hell out of him. It was like you were afraid of him too.
“And what about you Stiles?” Ms. Morrell asked. “Feeling some anxiety about that championship game tomorrow night?”
“Hwhyhwouldyouaskmethat?”
He pulled the lacrosse stick away from his mouth, realizing he had been nervously chewing on the mesh netting. It had muffled his words.
“Oh, uh no. I never actually play...but, hey, since one of my teammates is dead and another one’s missing, who knows, right?”
“You mean Isaac...one of the three runaways. You haven’t heard from any of them have you?”
Stiles looked out across her desk, suddenly realizing she had no laptop or pad of paper spread out in front of her. “How come you’re not taking any notes on this?”
Morrell smiled. “I do my notes after the session.”
Stiles’ eyes narrowed. “Your memory’s that good?”
She eyed him carefully, knowing full well he was trying to divert the conversation. “How about we get back to you?”
He was silent for a few moments.
“Stiles?”
He shook his head. “I’m fine. Yeah, aside from the not sleeping, the jumpiness...the constant, overwhelming, crushing fear that something terrible is about to happen.”
“It’s called hypervigilance,” Morrell explained. “The persistent feeling of being under threat.”
“It’s not just a feeling though. It’s like it’s a panic attack, you know? Like I can’t even breathe.”
“Like you’re drowning?” she suggested.
He swallowed. “Yeah.”
“So, if you’re drowning, and you’re trying to keep your mouth closed until that very last moment, what if you choose to not open your mouth? To not let the water in?”
“You do it anyway,” Stiles reminded her. “It’s a reflex.”
“But if you hold off until that reflex kicks in, you have more time right?”
“Not much time-”
“But more time to fight your way to the surface.
“I guess.” “More time to be rescued.”
“More time to be in agonizing pain,” he added. “I mean, did you forget about the part where your head’s exploding?”
“If it’s about survival, isn’t a little agony worth it?”
“Is it?” he asked her. “I mean, when I think about what Y/n must have gone through with Matt, it probably was agony. Waiting to be rescued, almost being strangled to death...and now... now she can’t even look at us. She’s like this...this shell of herself. She looks like she’s going through hell. I mean, it feels like we all are.”
Morrell pursed her lips. “Then think about something Winston Churchill once said. If you’re going through hell....keep going.”
-----
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
You rolled over onto your side, grasping wildly for your phone. Your morning alarm was going off once again and you felt the undeniable urge to hit snooze for the fourth time.
Today was supposed to be your first day back in school after Matt’s rampage, but every time you thought about actually getting up, you hesitated. You couldn’t stop picturing the looks on everyone’s faces as you walked through those doors. By now, everyone knew some of what had happened, or at least they knew that Matt was dead and you had been involved.
If you were being honest, you weren’t sure if you could handle the eyes on you or the curious whispers of your fellow students. Especially not with Scott and your friends dealing with their own problems. Allison hadn’t answered your texts or calls in days, Lydia seemed to be ignoring everything and everyone, and Stiles...well, you were the one ignoring Stiles.
You finally grabbed your phone and turned off your alarm. The screen was crowded with notifications, all from him. He had been trying to reach out for days, but you had deleted all of his texts and voicemails.
It wasn’t like you didn’t want to talk to him. You just didn’t know what to say. Every message was some variation of him asking if you were okay or telling you he was there for you if you needed him.
You weren’t okay, but just coming out and explaining that to Stiles wasn’t as easy as it sounded. It was hard enough to process your time with Matt in your own mind, let alone process it enough to share the details with someone else.
Ping!
As you held your phone in your hand, another text appeared on the screen.
Stiles 7:33am
Not sure if youre gonna be at school today. No pressure to talk or anything but I’m here if you need me.
You set your phone back down on the nightstand. Even if you didn’t go back to school that day, you would still have to do it eventually. Wasn’t it better to get it over with?
With one last reluctant glance at your phone, you shoved away the covers and got up to take a shower.
You only allowed yourself a few minutes under the hot water before hopping out. You needed to make sure Scott didn’t leave without you.
When you were finished, you pulled a soft towel from where it hung on the back of the bathroom door. You stood in front of the mirror for a few minutes, combing through your hair and examining the state of your face.
Dark purple bags encircled your undereyes. You pulled out your makeup bag, searching for the crusty pot of concealer you rarely used. As you patted the product onto your skin, you grimaced. No amount of makeup could hide the fact that you were barely sleeping.
The bruises Matt had left on your neck were also still there, though they were beginning to yellow and heal by now. Still, you dug through your closet, searching for something that could cover them up.
You found a maroon colored infinity scarf, though it was way too warm outside to wear one. You pulled on a pair of jeans and a tank top, then draped the scarf around your neck. You gazed at your outfit in the mirror and decided to add a cream colored cardigan to the outfit. If people were going to stare at you, you might as well look cute while they did.
“Mom?”
Scott’s voice was muffled behind your bedroom door, but you could tell he was standing in the hall.
“Mom, we’re going to have to talk about this eventually...Okay, I’m going. I love you.”
You felt a twinge of sympathy as you realized your mom wasn’t going to answer him.
Things had been tense between the two of them ever since she had watched him shift at the Sheriff’s station. They were barely speaking, but you knew she was probably terrified of the whole situation.
Instead, she had been focusing her energies on you, making sure you had everything you needed. Even on the days you hadn’t left your room, she still made sure that either she or Scott would leave a plate of food in the hall.
You heard Scott’s sneakers thumping down the stairs, and you rushed to pull your own shoes on. You scooped your backpack up from the ground and slung it over your shoulders, hurrying to catch up to your brother.
“Hey,” you called. “Can you give me a ride today?”
Scott floundered for a moment, staring up at you from the bottom of the steps. “Wait. You’re going to school? Are..are you sure?”
You bristled at the shock on his face.
“What?” you asked, as you came down the stairs. “You think I’m that fragile?”
“No,” Scott said quickly. “It’s just, even if you weren’t ready, that would be okay. You know that, right? You don’t have to go.”
You fidgeted with the straps on your backpack, thinking over his words.
“Yeah. I know. But I’m gonna have to go back sometime.”
Scott nodded. “You ready?”
“Yeah.”
The two of you headed out to the car. Normally, Stiles would pick the two of you up in the jeep, but that didn’t seem to be an option at the moment.
You guessed Scott and Stiles weren’t speaking either. That definitely made you nervous, especially considering everything that was going on.
“Hey, did you talk to Derek about Peter?” you asked as he pulled out of the driveway.
Scott shook his head. “He’s not answering my calls.”
“Great. So now we have two homicidal maniacs running around and no help.”
“But Peter didn’t try to kill you, so maybe that’s a good sign?”
He said it like it was a question, which did nothing to calm your fraying nerves.
You sighed. “From now on, I’m just going to assume everyone is trying to kill me.”
“Yeah, that’s probably smart.”
You didn’t respond. Instead, you stared out the window as Scott drove. The thought of facing both the entire school and the latest villain in town made you want to scream. The farther you got from home, the more you wished you had stayed in bed.
You watched the trees and houses whiz past outside, becoming a blur in the glass. As soon as Scott pulled into the parking lot, you were sure you had made a mistake. People were already beginning to stare.
The hushed whispers were just out of earshot as you got out of the car, but you were certain they were talking about you.
Scott put an arm around your shoulders as you headed up the sidewalk.
“Just block it out,” he whispered. “I’ll walk you to class.”
You knew he could probably hear your heart pounding. His worried frown never left his face as you headed into school.
“I can take you back home,” he offered.
You came to a stop in front of your algebra classroom. It was tempting, but you didn’t want to make Scott late. He was already doing poorly in all his classes.
“I’ll be fine,” you promised him, though he could probably tell you were lying.
It wasn’t until after he dropped you off that you realized just how bad the day was going to be.
People would stop you in the hall to ask if Matt had really kidnapped you. Their eyes would remain glued to the marks on your neck, still just barely peeking out from behind the scarf.
You tried to take Scott’s advice and just block people out, but that was proving to be impossible. Questions and whispered remarks followed you wherever you went. If people weren’t saying things right to your face, they sure weren’t careful about not letting you hear.
You hadn’t even made it to your second period class when you began to pick up on the nasty comments. The first one came as you were trading your algebra binder for the history textbook in your locker.
Though your back was turned, you could feel eyes on you.
“Weren’t she and Matt going out?” you heard a girl’s voice ask.
“Yeah, I saw them at the underground show together,” a boy responded. “I bet she was being a tease and he just got sick of it.”
You whirled around, but the couple was nowhere to be seen. They had already disappeared into the crowd of kids flowing down the hall and into other classrooms.
Without even bothering to grab your history book, you slammed your locker shut and headed to class. When Mr. Westover realized you didn’t have your book, he didn’t scold you, but he did make you share with the girl next to you. She didn’t say anything, although her eyes kept shifting toward the yellowing bruises on your neck.
At one point, you got frustrated and ripped off the scarf, shoving it into your bag. If people wanted to stare, you were going to let them see the whole thing. You thought maybe if they saw the full extent of what Matt had done to you, the horrible comments would settle down. You were wrong.
By lunch, you had zero appetite. Listening to what people were saying about you had your stomach churning. You definitely weren’t going to eat, but you stood in the lunch line anyway. Maybe going through the motions would give you some sense of normalcy.
You grabbed a plastic tray and moved down the line, grabbing an apple and a greasy slice of pizza. Just as you placed the items on your tray, you heard a hushed whisper from farther down in the line.
“Do you think he, y’know...touched her?”
You looked back at the two boys standing a few places down in the line. One of them had blonde hair tucked into a beanie, and the other was wearing a long-sleeved striped shirt and checkered vans. He had dyed black hair. You could see his light brown roots showing through.
You recognized them both from your gym class, but you didn’t know their names, and you didn’t think you wanted to.
“I don’t know, man,” Vans guy responded. “But if he did, I hope he took pictures. I’d love to see that.”
A wave of disgust washed over you, and you slammed your tray down on the metal counter. Without looking back, you rushed out of the lunch room, wiping the tears from your eyes. The last thing you needed was people watching you cry.
You hurried down the hall and tried to ignore all the stares. No matter where you went, everyone was looking at you.
You darted into the library, hoping it would be mostly empty during lunch. Luckily, only a few people were sitting down at the tables and you made it into the stacks unnoticed.
Once you were at the back of the room, you dropped your backpack onto the carpet with a thump. You slid down against a shelf and put your face in your hands. You never should have come to school today, but how could you have known the horrible things that people would say to you?
Even though Matt was dead, you were still living a waking nightmare. You texted Scott, begging him to drive you home as tears dripped down your cheeks. The idea of walking past another person and hearing one more disgusting comment had you close to sobbing.
You pressed your hand over your mouth, fighting to keep yourself quiet as you hid among the books. You felt like you couldn’t even breathe.
Your vision began to blur, but as you wiped your eyes, you realized it wasn’t because you were crying. It was because you were freaking out.
You took a few gasping breaths, but they seemed to get stuck in your throat. You had to call Scott, or your mom, or Stiles. When you picked up your phone again, it slipped from your trembling fingers.
The sound of your own heartbeat was slamming in your ears. You fumbled for your phone on the ground, but the world was blurring around you.
“Y/n?”
A familiar face was looming over you. When he dropped to his knees in front of you, you realized who it was.
“St-Stiles?”
“Hey...oh my god, what’s happening?” he asked.
“I can-I can’t b-breathe.”
Stiles blinked, suddenly recognizing what was wrong. Your face was flushed red and you were shaking as you sat on the floor. Your breath was coming in quick and short. He had seen the same symptoms in himself countless times after his mom died.
“You’re having a panic attack.”
“Great. H-How do I...How do I stop?”
“You’ve gotta try to slow your breathing. Just try to calm down.”
If you could have smacked him, you would have. He must have seen the look on your face, because he flushed.
“I know it sounds stupid, but just...just look at me.”
He reached up, placing his hands on either side of your face. His fingers were warm on your cheeks.
“I know things don’t seem like they’re ever going to be okay again. But trust me, they will. I promise. And...and if they aren’t, you can kick my ass, okay? Because I know you totally can.”
You looked up into his brown eyes, and you knew Stiles was telling the truth. Maybe he couldn’t guarantee that things were going to be okay, but he was going to try his damnedest to make them that way.
Your short gasps slowly began to turn into measured breaths. Eventually, you stopped shaking and collapsed against Stiles, wrapping your arms tightly around him. He sat there in shock for a moment, hesitant to put his hands on you after the way you had reacted in the Sheriff’s station.
Then, he realized you weren’t pulling away. He reached out, running a hand down your back and squeezing you against his chest.
“It’s okay. You’re okay.”
“Thank you,” you sniffed, pulling away slightly.
You weren’t crying anymore, but your tears had drenched his t-shirt, darkening the gray fabric. You gestured to the stain.
“I’m sorry.”
He shrugged. “I don’t care. Probably needed a wash anyway.”
You wrinkled your nose and he grinned at you. He was joking with you like nothing had changed, and you felt a wave of relief wash over you. Stiles was making you feel calmer than you had in days. You were beginning to think it had been a mistake to ignore him.
“How did you find me anyway?” you asked.
“I was looking for a book for my English project,” he explained. “I kind of heard you crying, but I didn’t know it was you until I came over.”
“Oh yeah. It’s your free period right now, isn’t it?”
“Yeah. Isn’t it your lunch?”
“Yeah, but...I couldn’t even make it through that. The stuff people were saying, I just...I had to get away.”
Stiles nodded. He had heard the buzzing of rumors since the bell rang that morning. Most of the whispers were sympathetic or curious, but a few disgusting words sent him snapping at his classmates. The last thing he wanted to hear was speculation about what Matt had done to you.
“Do you want me to take you home?” he offered.
“Yeah,” you admitted. “I need to get the hell out of here.”
Stiles rose to his feet and held out a hand, helping you off the carpet. The two of you grabbed your backpacks. You followed him out the backdoor of the library and stepped into the warm spring air.
“I’ll let Scott know I’m taking you home,” he said as you walked through the parking lot.
“I thought you two weren’t really talking.”
“We’re not, but he’s gonna worry if he doesn’t see you after school.”
He held open the passenger door of the jeep for you. You tossed your bag in the backseat.
“I can text him,” you offered.
He shook his head. “Nah. This gives us a reason to start talking again.”
He shut the door behind you and came around to sit behind the wheel. You watched as he pulled out his phone, sending a quick message to Scott.
“Why weren’t you guys talking anyway?” you asked curiously.
He shrugged and put the keys in the ignition to start the car.
“I think for the same reasons we haven’t been talking. Everything that happened was just...overwhelming I guess. I think we all needed some time to process things.”
Guilt washed over you as Stiles began to drive out of the school parking lot.
“I’m sorry,” you apologized. “I didn’t mean to ignore you. I just didn’t know what to say. I didn’t know how to explain that I wasn’t okay.”
He reached across the center console, placing one hand over yours. “You don’t have to be sorry...and you don’t ever have to explain anything to me. I just needed you to know that I was there for you, whenever you did need me.”
As soon as he spoke, relief washed over you. You were so glad he wasn’t mad at you, and so happy he seemed to understand exactly what you needed.
“I always need you,” you told him softly.
Stiles smiled, taking his eyes off the road for a split second before looking back out the windshield. “I need you too.”
Just like that, it felt like nothing had changed between the two of you. Stiles was still your best friend and maybe a little something more.
You sat in silence for the rest of the drive as. He rubbed his thumb over the back of your hand comfortingly. When his brakes screeched to a halt in your driveway, you almost didn’t want to get out of the car.
“Do you want to skip and hang out here?” you asked.
He smiled and stopped the car. “Yeah. I can only stay for a little bit though. I have to be back in time for Coach’s big meeting.”
“Oh, right. The game is tonight.”
“I could probably skip it though. You know I’m always on the bench.”
Your phone suddenly pinged. You pulled it out of your pocket, glancing down at the text from Scott.
Stiles watched as the color drained from your face. “What? What’s wrong?”
“You can’t skip the game,” you told him. “Jackson showed up and he’s playing tonight.”
Stiles sighed. “So that means Gerard’s playing too.”
You nodded. Stiles reached out, taking both of your hands in his. “You don’t have to be there tonight. Actually, it’s probably safer for you to stay home.”
“No way,” you protested. “If something’s going to happen, I want to be there.”
Stiles hesitated. You were just like your brother. If someone needed your help, you didn’t hesitate to throw yourself into danger. Before Matt, Stiles never would have tried to stop you from doing that. Now he wanted nothing more than to keep you out of the chaos.
“What?” you demanded. “Are you going to try to stop me?”
He shook his head. “No. It’s just...after what happened...what if I can’t protect you?”
“Stiles, what happened with Matt wasn’t your fault.”
He glanced down at the bruises on your neck, feeling a wave of anger rise up inside of you. “I should have stopped him.”
You reached up, placing your hands on either side of his face. “Look at me. You couldn’t have. I’m sure he would have used Jackson to rip you to shreds if you tried, and then where would we be?”
“Probably better off,” he muttered.
“Stiles!”
“Kidding. I just don’t want to lose you again. I can’t lose you again.”
“You won’t,” you promised. “Let’s just stick together tonight, okay?”
Your eyes were bright and determined. You looked so sure of yourself that Stiles was inclined to believe you.
“Okay,” he whispered.
Your hands were still on his face. He wanted so desperately to lean down and press his lips to yours, but he wasn’t sure if that was a good idea. Hugging you was one thing, but he didn’t want to go too far and make you uncomfortable.
He glanced down at your mouth, and you knew exactly what he was thinking.
“You can kiss me if you want.”
“Are you sure?”
“Stiles, that is the only thing I want right now.”
That was all he needed to hear.
He moved forward, grasping one of your hands and gently pulling you toward him. You leaned into his warmth, pressing your lips back against his. He let you take the lead, careful not to push you.
Your stomach fluttered as you kissed him. For a few brief moments, you were able to forget about the chaos and just melt into Stiles. He made you feel warm and safe and stable. It didn’t matter if you fell, because he would be there to catch you.
After a few seconds, you reluctantly pulled away.
“You should go find Scott.”
Stiles frowned. “I thought you wanted me to stay.”
“I do,” you promised, squeezing his hands. “But now that Jackson’s back, you guys need to talk in person. That’s more important right now.”
He nodded, but he was still hesitant. “Will you be okay alone?”
“Yeah,” you told him. “My mom’s off today anyway. I can catch a ride to the game with her.”
“You sure you’re up for that? I mean, I guess if Jackson tears someone apart on the field, no one’s going to be talking about you anymore.”
You tried to fight the grin threatening to break out on your face, but you couldn’t help it.
“I’m trying to be serious here.”
“I know. I just like seeing you smile.”
He reached up, running a thumb across your cheek. “I’ll see you tonight then?”
“Yeah. Just let me know what you guys decide to do. Whatever it is, I’m with you.”
You grabbed your bag from the backseat and pressed one more quick kiss to Stiles’ lips. “See you later.”
Stiles smiled. “See you.”
He watched as you hopped out of the jeep and made your way up to the front door. He sat there in the driveway for a few moments, making sure you got inside. Before you entered the house, you turned around to smile at him one last time.
He drove away grinning at first, but as he turned out of your neighborhood, he couldn’t help but wonder what the night had in store for both of you. Somehow, he had a feeling that the moment you shared would be the last peaceful one he was going to get for a while.

Somehow I’ve gone down an Originals final episode spiral and I’m not sure if I’ve already discussed this with you, but I’m stuck on the Klaus didn’t have to die ship again. I keep thinking that the twins could have just siphoned it out of him. Isn’t that how their magic worked? If something is spelled, they can just siphon the magic out and use it?
I don´t remember if we talked about this before and it´s been a year since I watched the finale because it still kills me, but here we go:
The twins could have definitely siphoned it out of Klaus, but if they did the hollow (or the hollows magic whatever) would live within them and eventually kill them just as it did Klaus. And he would have never put a burden that revolves around his family on anyone else, let alone kids.
Which is another crazy character development that really brings out how far he´s come from the TVD era and before. Back then he would´ve probably just gotten someone else to transfer the hollow to and let them die so he can live.
#god it feels good to talk about TO again#I´ve been missing it so much#to spoilers#the originals#derangedangel#tag/asks answered

Apparently today is Fanfic writers appreciation day. I was sort of planning this anyway, but what better day to show my fave writers I love them than on this day?
Here’s a few random questions about your work. You don’t have to tag anyone if you want, but I’m just trying to spread the love.
What’s you favorite story you’ve ever written and why?
Best Friends and Boyfriends, because it was my first. My baby. And I combined my favorite things. Isaac Lahey and some good old Stiles Stilinski sarcasm and Star Wars references.
What’s you least favorite?
Satisfied. It doesn’t end happy, but I’ve got imagines that don’t end happy, but I don’t know what went on with this one. I love Hamilton and I love Stiles, but this one just isn’t my favorite.
Which story has gotten the most hype and do you think it deserved it?
Baby Fever, and not really lol. Of course I like it because it’s Derek Hale with a baby, but it was just a random idea I had at work and it’s got the most notes but I have no idea why.
Which story is underrated?
It’s a tie between The One Where Isaac Comes Back and Ghosted. The first one is part two of The One Where Isaac Leaves, and it could have been a series, but for some reason the notes just dropped between the two. I had a whole plan in my head, but I didn’t decide to write part 3 because of the notes, I just never got around to it. And Ghosted was beautiful. Season 5 ghost riders with Derek and he gets taken? And you guys didn’t love it? Come on.
Who’s your favorite character to write for?
Probably Derek Hale because I love writing about his beard. Touching his beard. His beard scratching you while you kiss. IDC. I love me some Tyler Hoechlin.
Who’s the easiest character to write for?
Stiles. Hands down. You throw in some sarcasm, a little stuttering, spastic hand movements, and a Star Wars or super hero reference and you got yourself a Stilinski fic. And he can just be in an imagine as a friend, it’s so easy to do.
Fluff or Angst?
Fluff but I love causing others pain sometimes (mwhahaha)
What’s your favorite cliche writing trope?
Maybe the “we have to keep us dating a secret” one.” Fake dating is pretty good too. I may have to get one of those (Go read To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before)
Favorite Holiday to write for?
I’ve only really written for Halloween so I’d say that one.

If you decide to tag someone else, you can leave out all my blubbering before the questions :)

Stiles- Obsessed
A/N: Okay, I attempted to edit the original and accidentally deleted it *facepalm* so here is the reuploaded version of Obsessed! Let me know if you guys want a part two (with less mistakes).
“You really think the mountain ash will work?” Stiles asked, reaching forward to cut off the radio.
“Hey,” you complained from the backseat of the Jeep. “I like that song.”
Scott shot you a look from where he sat in the passenger seat. “You’re the one who wanted to be a part of this.”
You narrowed your eyes at your older brother. It had only been a few months since you found out Scott was a werewolf, but you were picking things up fairly quickly. Scott had never intended for you to know the truth and he wasn’t thrilled that you had gotten involved.
“And how exactly were you supposed to explain away the fact that Stiles was chaining you to the radiator?”
Stiles glanced over at Scott. “She’s got a point. I’m a good liar, but I’m not sure I’m that good.”
“You know, the werewolves actually make sense,” you commented. “But a murderous lizard person? I wouldn’t have guessed.”
“Neither would I,” Stiles agreed. “Which brings me back to the thought that maybe the magic fairy dust can’t trap it.”
“Deaton did say you have to believe, Stiles,” you pointed out.
“And,” Scott added. “We don’t have many options right now. Everyone is going to be at the Underground Show and that’s our best chance to catch whoever’s controlling Jackson.”
Stiles let out a discontented sigh. “I just...I don’t get why it has to be me.”
“You’re the only other human besides Y/n. And you know we can’t ask Allison.”
He snorted. “Like I’m not reminded of that every day of my life.”
“I can try to sneak off and come help you,” you suggested.
Stiles shot you a longing glance over his shoulder, but Scott shook his head. “You’re supposed to be keeping Matt distracted. He’s been asking too many questions and he’s way too involved now.”
“It’s actually kinda perfect that he’s asking you out,” your brother continued.
“If that’s how you define perfect,” Stiles said. There was an uneasy edge to his voice. “I still don’t trust him.”
“You don’t have to,” you told him with a shrug. “I’ll distract him, drop him off at the end of the night, and hopefully this will all blow over once we find whoever’s controlling Jackson.”
“See?” Scott asked. “You’ll both be fine.”
Stiles bit the inside of his cheek as he drove toward the high school. He tightened his grip on the steering wheel and took a breath.
“Yeah,” he agreed. “We’ll be fine. Even if we don’t make it into the show, which is still a big problem, since we don’t actually have tickets.”
He glanced back at you in the rearview mirror, and you flashed him a small smile as the Jeep pulled into the school parking lot. He immediately looked away, and desperately hoped that you hadn’t seen him blushing.
Stiles had been friends with your brother since they were eight years old and you had spent the majority of their friendship running along after them. While Scott incessantly complained about you needing to find your own best friend, Stiles never did. The minute you entered high school, a year after they did, the three of you became inseparable.
Lately though, things had been different between you and Stiles. While Scott was off sneaking around with Allison, the two of you were often on your own. Maybe you didn’t know what it meant yet, but you and Stiles had grown closer.
He glanced back at you in the rearview mirror, and you flashed him a small smile as the Jeep pulled into the school parking lot. Stiles killed the engine and hopped out, holding the door open for you as you crawled out of the backseat. As you tossed your bag over your shoulder, you noticed that Matt was standing on the sidewalk nearby.
“Oh great,” Stiles muttered under his breath.
“There’s gotta be some other way to get tickets, right?” Scott asked as he shut the passenger door.
Stiles rolled his eyes. “It’s a secret show. There’s only one way, and it’s a secret.”
You smirked, and Scott rolled his eyes at the two of you. Before you could bite out a sarcastic comment, Matt called out to you.
“Hey,” he said, jogging up to the three of you. “Any of you guys know why no one got suspended after what happened the other day at school?”
“Just forget about it,” Stiles said, waving him off. “No one got hurt.”
Matt tilted his head. You could tell he was annoyed. “I had a concussion”
“Well, nobody got seriously hurt.”
“I was in the E.R. for six hours,” Matt told him.
Stiles huffed. “Hey, do you wanna know the truth Matt? Your little bump on the head is about this high-” Stiles crouched down and held his hand inches from the sidewalk. “-on our list of problems right now.”
Scott placed a hand on his shoulder, and you stepped forward. “Are you okay?”
Matt smiled at you, brushing off Stiles’ without a second glance. “Yeah, I’m fine now.” He looked over at Scott. “So you didn’t get tickets last night either.”
“Are they still selling?” Scott asked hopefully.
“Uh, no, but I managed to find two online.” Matt shot you a wink, and you blushed. “You should keep trying. Sounds like everyone’s going to be there. I’ll see you tonight, right, Y/n?”
You smiled. “Yeah. I’ll pick you up at eight?”
He nodded. “Sounds good. See you later.”
Stiles watched Matt saunter away, looking pleased with himself. He shook his head and then glanced toward you. “I don’t like him. Are you sure about this, Scott?”
Your older brother pursed his lips. “Last time, whoever’s controlling Jackson had to kill someone because he didn’t finish the job. What do you think he’s going to do this time?”
Stiles sighed, and looked ruefully between the two of you. “Be there to make sure it happens.”
-----
“Do you want to move closer to the DJ?” Matt asked you.
He was gripping your hand tightly, almost as if he was afraid you were going to slip away. That might have been a valid fear, considering the place was crowded with sweaty, glowing bodies, and you couldn’t go three inches without brushing up against one.
Your phone had been going off in the pocket of your jean skirt since you got to the rave, and you could feel it buzz against your thigh. Matt saw you glance down at it, peeking out of your pocket, and he tilted his head.
“Should I be jealous?” he asked jokingly.
You let out a nervous laugh. “Of course not.”
“Check it,” he told you. “I don’t mind.”
He was watching you carefully, and for a few seconds you noticed his light attitude had disappeared. There was something in his deep blue eyes that you couldn’t decipher. You cautiously reached for your phone.
“It’s just Stiles,” you said, tucking it back into your pocket.
You didn’t exactly want to read the message in front of Matt, but you caught a few alarming words flashing across the screen before you locked it again. Stiles had definitely been asking for help.
“What’s up with the two of you anyway?” Matt asked.
He was trying to be casual, but you knew he was asking a loaded question. Between trying to answer and forming a plan to sneak away and help Stiles, your mind was spinning.
“He’s my brother’s best friend,” you told him with a shrug. “He’s been around since I was little. I guess I’ve just gotten used to him being my friend too.”
“You sure there’s not anything between you guys?”
“Oh god no,” you swore. “I’m his best friend’s little sister. There’s no way he’d...no way.”
A part of you had always wondered about Stiles. He was hilarious, incredibly smart, and you knew he would do anything for you, but you were pretty sure that came with the territory of being Scott’s best friend. Stiles was practically family. Of course you would be special to him too.
Despite occasional fantasies of what could happen between the two of you, that was a topic you had forbidden yourself to think about.
“So there’s no one else I have to worry about?” Matt asked softly.
“Hm?” You had been lost in your own thoughts until Matt’s voice had shaken you out of them. “Oh, no. Of course not.”
Apparently, Matt took that as an invitation to make a move. His hand was suddenly on your waist, and he leaned in to press his lips fiercely against yours.
You had kissed one boy before, during a game of spin the bottle at a party in seventh grade. It had been wet and uncomfortable, and you were pretty sure Garrett Meyer’s tongue was not supposed to be in your mouth. This was nothing like that, yet something about it still felt wrong.
Matt’s lips were soft and forceful, but not rough. He obviously knew what he was doing, but for some reason your stomach turned at the feeling of the kiss.
You placed your hands on his shoulders and pushed him away. He looked genuinely hurt as you apologized profusely and mumbled something about needing to use the bathroom. You left him there, standing on the edge of the crowd as you disappeared into the throng of dancers.
-----
Stiles was panicking by the time you rushed out of the warehouse. Relief washed over him in waves as he saw you step outside.
“What happened?” you demanded. “I thought Deaton gave you two bags.”
“He did!” Stiles cried, holding up the handful of mountain ash. “This is all I have left.”
You swore softly, glancing at the ground surrounding the building. On the concrete were two lines of ash wrapping around the warehouse, separated by about forty feet.
“Did you call Scott?” you asked, panic creeping into your voice.
“Three times,” he told you. “He didn’t pick up.”
You sighed. “Okay...okay, look. Deaton said you have to believe, right? So just believe you have more mountain ash.”
“Are you kidding me? That’s the plan?!”
“It was the plan to begin with,” you pointed out.
“To run out of mountain ash?”
“No, to believe you could do it,” you reminded him. “If you’re giving it the spark of power like Deaton said, then maybe you’re powerful enough to make it work.”
“So, what happens when we run out? Wing it?”
“Stiles, all you do is wing it! You’re seriously telling me you can’t just close your eyes and hope for once?”
He took a breath. “Okay, fine. We’ll wing it.”
He held his empty hand out for you to take and you raised your eyebrows. Stiles swallowed audibly. “Please.”
You grabbed his hand, casting a worried glance toward the line of mountain ash. He squeezed your hand, and you closed your eyes as he walked forward, letting the ash slip through his fingers.
Then he stopped. “Y/n, look.”
When you opened your eyes, Stiles was looking incredulously at the pavement. The two lines of mountain ash were now connected, completing the barrier that would trap the kanima and its master inside the warehouse.
You and Stiles looked at each other and erupted into joyful shrieks. Elated, he wrapped his arms around your waist and spun you in a circle, nearly tripping into a nearby car.
“I did it!” he cried. “Oh my god I did something!”
You laughed as he placed you on top of the trunk of the car, only to have it’s alarm blare out across the warehouse parking lot. He yelped and pulled you down, but his face was still flush with excitement.
“You were right,” he breathed. “I’m gonna have to listen to you more often.”
“That was amazing,” you whispered.
Stiles’ cheeks were warm with pride, and as he gazed down at you, it occurred to him that you might have as much admiration for him as he did for you. His hands were still resting on your hips, and before he could talk himself out of it, he pulled you closer and kissed you.
For a split second you were frozen in shock, but then you quickly melted into the kiss. Your life had changed so much in the past few months. It was like your entire world was turning upside down, uprooting you and everything you thought you knew. Maybe it made sense that your relationship with Stiles would be shifting too.
When you parted, you stared at each other silently, not quite sure what to say. Then several things happened at once.
A distant popping filled the air, and you recognized the sound of gunshots almost immediately. The funny thing about constantly dodging werewolf hunters was that you had learned how to recognize the sound of their bullets. At the same time, your phone also began to chime relentlessly.
When you checked it, you found that it was Matt, apologizing profusely and asking where you were. Stiles swallowed as you looked down at your phone. “You should probably go find him.”
“Yeah,” you said. “But I don’t really want to.”
Stiles smiled softly. “I don’t want you to...but the hunters are close. You need to find Matt and stay out of trouble.”
“Matt isn’t trouble?” you wondered.
Stiles grimaced. “I don’t trust the guy. You know that.”
“I do,” you agreed. “But I can take care of myself, Stiles.”
“I know. But if you need anything call me, okay?”
“Okay.”
You smiled and turned away, heading back into the warehouse. Stiles watched you go as dread churned his stomach. Everything inside him was screaming for him to call out to you, to pull you back and wrap you up in his arms, just to keep you safe. With everything going on, he knew that was a fantasy. No one was safe in Beacon Hills. Not anymore.
-----
It took you about thirty five minutes to find Matt. He wasn’t where you had left him, but you eventually spotted him leaning against the wall in a tucked-away corner of the building.
“Hey, sorry,” you breathed. “I just...I needed some air.”
“I get it,” he told you, smiling. “I’m just glad you found your way back. I think they’re wrapping it u-”
He was interrupted by the noise of a disgruntled crowd.. The music had stopped thumping suddenly, and the warehouse was filled with grumbling teens and twenty-somethings, wondering why the party had stalled.
“Looks like the party’s over,” he commented, reaching for your hand. “Let’s go.”
You swallowed nervously as you watched the crowd filter through the various doors of the warehouse. If Scott’s plan succeeded, Jackson and the person controlling him should be trapped inside the building.
As you headed out though, you glimpsed Jackson walking out the door farther up in the crowd. You held your breath until you crossed through the door, but Jackson was nowhere to be found. He had crossed the mountain ash barrier.
You felt your heart sink as you realized the plan hadn’t worked. You wondered what happened, and briefly panicked at the thought that something might have happened to Stiles.
You and Matt stumbled out of the building and toward you car. You wanted to reach for your phone and call Stiles, but you knew you wouldn’t be able to sneak away from Matt again. If you even texted him, he might get suspicious, and the whole point of you going out with him was to stop him from asking too many questions.
As he tugged you toward the parking lot, you couldn’t help but feel a sinking in your chest. Somehow you just knew there had been another murder. You knew the entire plan had failed.
-----
“Do you ever feel like no matter what you do, you just can’t win?” you wondered, as you turned down Matt’s street.
You had been quiet for almost the entire ride, and relief flashed across his face when you finally spoke.
“No,” he said smoothly. “Unlike the rest of humanity, I’m perfect.”
That made you smile. “Thanks. I guess things have just been really crazy lately. It’s been stressing me out.”
Matt looked down at his feet when you pulled to a stop in front of his house. “Yeah, and that...incredibly bad idea probably didn’t help things either.”
He looked like he was about to burn up with embarrassment when he talked about the kiss.
“Don’t even worry about it.”
“For real?” he asked.
“Definitely.”
“So,” he asked carefully. “What’s going on with you and Stiles? I know you went to look for him at the show, but are you guys...together?”
You started to say no, but then thought better of it. The moment you had shared with Stiles in the parking lot had given you a lot to think about.
“Not really,” you told Matt.
“Not really,” he repeated. “God, I hate ‘not really’. You never know what to do with ‘not really’.”
You pressed your lips together at his bitter tone. “Would you understand if I said it was complicated?”
Matt raised his eyebrows.“Not really.”
You laughed, and he smiled gently at you. “But I can try.”
With one last smile, he opened the door and waved you goodbye. You sat there on the curb for a few seconds, watching him disappear inside his darkened house. When you went to shift the car into drive, you realized Matt’s backpack was still on the floor of your car.
You reached over and grabbed the strap, only to pull on his camera by mistake. It was still on, and you figured he had probably been taking pictures at the rave and just forgotten to turn it off in all the chaos.
Purely out of curiosity, you tapped the bottom to scroll through his photos. Matt had talked about his photography, but he had never really mentioned how good he was.
You smiled when a picture of you flashed across the screen. It was a candid of you, smiling in the stands as you cheered for Scott during one of his lacrosse games. The next picture was of you laughing, and you remembered that Stiles had been making faces at you from where he was benched on the sidelines.
As you scanned the photos, you realized that they were more of you than anything else. Your fascination quickly turned to horror as you saw that Matt had pictures of you walking down the hall, studying in the library, and even sitting in front of your bedroom window.
You were just starting to wonder how long he had been watching you when you were startled by tapping at the window. You quickly powered off the camera and looked up.
Matt was standing next to the car, illuminated eerily by the streetlights outside. He had a smile on his face, but it was wry and twisted. He pulled once on the handle of the passenger side door, and you were suddenly grateful you had locked the car after he got out.
“Open the door,” he mouthed.
You took a deep breath, hoping your expression didn’t betray your fear. You didn’t open the door, but you did roll the window down about halfway.
“Forgot my bag,” Matt told you, gesturing to the backpack on the floor.
You nodded. “Yeah, yeah.”
Your voice came out shaky and uneven, and you were completely still as he reached in, pulling out his bag and the camera. “Some good pictures in there, don’t you think?”
“Oh, yeah,” you agreed enthusiastically. “The lacrosse ones are amazing. You’re really talented. I was-I was really impressed.”
Realizing you were rambling, you quickly pressed your lips together. Matt smiled evenly at you. “There’s a good candid of you in there too.”
“Really?”
“You can see some of the others if you’d like,” Matt offered. “I mean, this tiny little screen doesn’t really do it justice, but, uh, I could show you some on my computer.”
“Oh,” you breathed. “I would totally like that, but...maybe another night.”
“Just for a few minutes?” he pressed.
“It’s getting kind of late,” you told him. “Scott’s probably expecting me home.”
“It’s the weekend.”
“I-I know,” you stammered. “But-”
“And it’s spring break. I mean, you don’t have anything going on tomorrow, do you? I’m sure your brother wouldn’t mind.”
Your heart was pounding in your chest. With the way Matt was watching you, you could have sworn he could hear it. “I should really get going.”
Matt’s lips twitched. “You sure?”
“I’m sure,” you said hoarsely.
“Okay,” he said softly, backing away from the car.
He eyed you carefully, but you didn’t look back at him. You peeled away from the curb, terrified to see him still behind you, watching.
When you got home and trudged up the steps, Scott poked his head out of his bedroom door. “Hey. You dropped Matt off?”
You nodded wordlessly. That was when Stiles’ head appeared next to Scott’s. They were both in pajamas, ready to pass out after the exhausting night. It was past one am, but you knew they had waited up to make sure you got home safe.
“Yeah,” you whispered hoarsely. “Just tired.”
“Are you sure?” Scott asked with a frown. “Do you wanna talk about what happened tonight? I know it was intense.”
“Scott,” you snapped. “I just want to sleep. I’m not a little kid anymore.”
Your brother recoiled in shock, and you instantly felt ashamed. Stiles was looking at you in concern, but you didn’t meet his eyes as you headed down the hall. The tension of the kiss from earlier was burning in the air, but after what had happened with Matt, you weren’t in a place to deal with it.
You shoved open the door of you room, stripped off your sweaty clothes, and immediately jumped in the shower. Even as the hot water streamed down your skin, you could feel the tears dripping down your face.
Some of the pictures Matt had taken were from weeks ago. You didn’t remember all of the moments he had captured, but one of them was definitely from the night Allison and Lydia had taken you shopping for the upcoming spring dance.
You had opted for a more casual dress with a bright floral pattern that you were absolutely in love with. Lydia, however, insisted you get something more formal, so you chose another one. She bought you the floral as a gift.
You were so excited that you wore it home from the shopping trip, and judging by the photos you had seen on Matt’s camera, he had been watching you that night as you walked inside. You would never wear that dress again without thinking of him capturing the moment and twisting it in his own perverted way.
Your phone had been buzzing non-stop for the past thirty minutes, so you finally decided to step out of the shower. Nausea bloomed in your stomach, and you wondered if Matt was trying to reach out to you.
As you walked out of the bathroom, wrapped in a towel, you realized Stiles was the one who had been blowing up your phone.
“Oh shit!”
You jumped when you saw him sitting on the edge of your bed, covering his eyes. His cheeks were a bright red, and he was stammering.
“Oh god, uh, I’m so sorry. I’ll just-”
He tried to get up while his eyes were covered and ended up tripping over your basket of clean laundry. He fell with a thump, and you snorted.
“Stiles,” you told him softly. “It’s fine. It’s not like you saw me naked.”
“I’m sorry,” he repeated, scrambling to his feet. “I was just worried. I thought that maybe you’d want to talk or something, but…”
You grimaced. “No I...I want to talk. Just let me change.”
He nodded and sat back down on your bed, watching as you hastily yanked some pajamas out of your dresser. You disappeared into your bathroom, and a minute or so later, you came back out fully dressed.
You sat beside him on your rumpled comforter, wondering where to start. Eventually, you and Stiles spoke at the same time.
“So about the kiss-”
“Something happened with Matt-”
He paused, looking at you with concern. “You mean back at the rave? What happened?”
You shook your head. “No. It was when I took him home. He left his bag in my car on accident. I went to pull on the strap, but I grabbed his camera by mistake. It was on, so I just looked at the pictures, and...and he had pictures of me.”
“Pictures? What kind of pictures?”
“Some of them were normal,” you told him. “I saw some of me at the last game, and I know he has to take pictures of the crowd for the yearbook. But then there were others. Like pictures of me at my locker, or...or in my window.”
Stiles jaw dropped. “Your bedroom window?”
You dropped your eyes to the floor and nodded.
Stiles jumped to his feet. “We need to tell Scott right now.”
“No,” you said quickly, reaching up to grab his hand. “Stiles we can’t. He already has so much to worry about with the kanima and Allison’s grandfather.”
“Then we have to at least go the cops. Y/n, that’s stalking. Matt’s been stalking you.”
You took a deep breath and tried to fight the tears forming in your eyes. “What if no one believes me?”
Stiles placed his hands on your shoulders. They were warm and steady, and even though tears were slipping down your face, his stability gave you hope. “I believe you. And everyone at the station will too. Besides, he’s got the proof on his camera.”
You swallowed. “So do we talk to your dad?”
Stiles scratched the back of neck. “Actually, uh, they just put him on a leave of absence.”
“Like they fired him?” you asked incredulously.
“Basically, yeah,” he said softly. “And it’s pretty much my fault.”
“Why would you say that?” you asked him.
“Well, believe it or not, the son of the Sheriff stealing a police van and kidnapping someone didn’t look too good to the town. ”
You grimaced as his shoulders slumped in shame. You reached out to gently touch his shoulder. “Stiles, I’m sorry.”
He shook his head. “It doesn’t matter. We’ve gotta stop the murders first. Then we can figure out how to get my dad’s job back.”
“You’re still allowed to be upset,” you reminded him. “Stiles, nothing about this is easy.”
“You are.”
You blinked at him. “Wait, what? I’m easy?”
“Woah, no, that came out wrong. I mean, this with you.” He gestured between the two of you. “This is easy.”
“Talking?” you asked.
“Everything,” he admitted. “I know you’ve kinda been stuck with me lately since Scott’s been preoccupied. But when it’s just me and you...I don’t really mind it.”
You smiled at him. “I don’t either.”
“And I was thinking maybe...maybe if you wanted to…”
Stiles took a deep breath. His cheeks were flushed and all of his confidence from earlier seemed to have disappeared. “I totally suck at this.”
“It’s okay,” you told him with a laugh. “I think I know what you’re asking. And the answer is-”
Knock! Knock! Knock! You and Stiles both froze at the sound of a knock on your door.
“Y/n?” Scott was calling softly. “You awake?”
“Uh, hold on, I’m naked!” you yelled.
With wide eyes, you quickly yanked Stiles up from the bed and shoved him into the bathroom. For good measure, you gestured toward the shower. Stiles obliged, and you quickly flipped the light off and shut the door.
You took your discarded towel and wrapped it around your hair, twisting it up. Then you opened the door for Scott.
“Hey,” he said, peering around the room. “Is Stiles in here?”
“He’s not with you?” you asked.
“No. I woke up and he wasn’t in my room. I thought I heard voices in here so I came to check. He’s probably just getting a glass of water or something.”
“Oh,” you said casually. “I was on the phone with Lydia. She’s just nervous about everything going on, so I was trying to distract her with girl talk.”
“Girl talk?” Scott asked.
“Mmhm. You know, dresses, nail polish...waxing.”
Your brother grimaced at the thought. “Okay, I get it. I was just making sure you were okay. You seemed upset earlier.”
“I was,” you admitted. “You were right. Everything at the rave, the last murder...it was getting to me.”
Scott nodded. “I know this is hard. It’s why I didn’t want to get you involved.”
You rolled your eyes slightly. “Yeah, yeah. I know.”
“But hey,” he said, reaching out to put his hand on your shoulder. “I’m glad you know now. I’m glad you have my back.”
You pressed your lips together and stared up at him skeptically. “Yeah?”
“Yeah,” he agreed. He reached out to pull you into a tight hug. “I love you. You know that right? And everything I do, I’m just trying to keep you safe.”
“I know. And as annoying as you are, I love you too,” you mumbled into his shoulder.
He rolled his eyes and pushed you away. “Go to bed.”
You watched Scott as he walked down the hall and turned back into his room. Then you quickly shut your own door and locked it.
When you yanked open the shower curtain to let Stiles out, he jumped.
“What?” you asked quizzically.
“I thought you might have been Scott,” he admitted, stepping out of the shower. “I couldn’t hear you guys from here.”
“You should probably leave before he gets suspicious,” you told him.
He looked down at the floor. “Yeah, you’re right...hey, uh, were you going to Lydia’s party tomorrow?”
“Yeah,” you told him. “I wouldn’t miss it.”
“I’ll see you there, then.” He reached out to grab your hand, giving it a gentle squeeze. “We’ll figure everything out. Matt’s not going to hurt you.”
You nodded, and squeezed back once, knowing full well that his words from earlier were hanging in the air. Now it seemed that the moment had passed, and Scott was awake down the hall, looking for Stiles.
“Goodnight, Stiles,” you whispered.
“Goodnight.”
He smiled softly at you before silently slipping out of your room and down the hall. You closed your door as quietly as you could, walked over to flick off your light, and crawled into bed.
Despite the chaos of that night, sleep found you easily, and you slipped into unconsciousness, not thinking of Matt, but of Stiles.

It's me with another random Klaus Mikaelson question that I want to discuss lol. Do you think Klaus was able to have a child just because the curse was broken and his werewolf side was free, or because of that and the fact that he slept with another werewolf? I'm just contemplating if Klaus can just have kids with anyone who's isn't undead now
Klaus was born a werewolf so when he was turned into an original hybrid he didn´t lose his werewolf abilities at first. At that point, he would´ve been able to procreate. Later, Esther´s curse suppressed those abilities however.
So, yes, after the curse was broken he could father a child because his werewolf side, and the abilities that come with it, were freed. He could´ve not only procreated with werewolves but with any species except vampires (because they´re infertile). The same thing applies to the heretics as well (and perhaps even tribrids like Hope)
However, another child wasn´t possible because I believe it was Jane-Anne, that claimed to have made sure that he will never have another child again once they learned of Hope. But that was just a little spell, so I believe a more powerful witch could have just removed that if he wanted to. But it was never explicitly mentioned.
Also, I love discussing anything TO (and tvd) so keep those coming if you have any others :D

masterlist
Y/n’s foot bounced nervously against the hardwood of Mystic Grill, her fingers mindlessly swirling the drink in her glass. She’d been sitting there only a few minutes, maybe, but minutes still felt like hours when you were waiting for someone. An itching thought in the back of her mind told her he wouldn’t show, that this place was too obvious, but as her eyes scoured the surrounding patrons, she saw no one who could go back to her brothers and rat her out. She sighed though a bubble in her cheeks, flipping her phone over and checking for any texts of cancellation, or perhaps of the fashionably late excuse, but there was nothing on the screen.
Her gaze drifted to the twisting alcohol in her drink, eyes low with annoyance at both him and herself. Herself for thinking he, an Original vampire who was beyond mysterious and definitely out for something, would trust her to meet up with him; him for just… existing. Her straw stuck to her lips and she took a drink, eyes drifting up to the entrance and locking on the entering guests.
He almost slipped past her — though she wasn’t sure how that could happen. He was clad in a grey suit, neatly tailored and hugging all the right places. His hair was neat, but still casually laid on his head, and she found her heart skipping a beat. He was absolutely one of the most handsome men she’d ever met, and simultaneously, so goddamn insane. When his head turned and their eyes met, she sat straighter in her seat, legs crossing under the table and a fleeting smile gracing her lips.
He gave a nod, then headed over, scoping out the rest of the Grill like she had. When he was within earshot, she snickered lightly, “I promise no one here knows who you are. Hell, doubt they even know who I am.”
His lips parted as he breathed out, pinching his suit jacket apart as he sat down across from her. “Hello, Ms. Salvatore.”
She flinched a little at the name, sucking her bottom lip between her teeth before shaking her head lightly, “Please, call me Y/n, Elijah. I’m not one for formalities.”
“As you wish,” he nodded, “you must forgive my tardiness, Y/n.” He propped his elbow on the table, fingers gesturing upward and lifting with his eyebrows, “I was caught up in some… business.” The way her name had come across his lips sent a strange shiver down the center of her back, forcing her to situate herself a little differently in her chair. This, most definitely, did not go unnoticed.
“It’s no worry,” she dismissed, even though minutes before she’d been absolutely anxious out of her wits. “So, now that you’re here, would you mind indulging me in who Elijah Mikaelson is?”
He smiled, looking down toward the table as his hand fell flat against it. His eyes found her’s again after a moment, “What would you like to know?”
“Start from the beginning,” she lifted her chin, “tell me everything about why this Klaus character is after my brother’s girlfriend, why it matters so much that she stay alive, and why it matters to you that she’s alive.”
He gave a thoughtful nod, a small scoff leaving his chest as he let out a long breath, “Niklaus… is my younger brother.”
Y/n’s brows furrowed as she looked on at Elijah, “That’s not what I’ve heard. They said Klaus was the oldest of the Originals.”
Elijah chuffed out a laugh, leaning back in his chair and tapping his finger against the table, “At times, I’m sure he wishes he were. But, no. That would be me. I see people do their research.” She let out a chuckle at that, catching his eyes as they crinkled in the corners. She admired how witty he was — stark contrast from the deal-making, strictly-business Elijah she’d heard about from Rose.
At the thought of the vampire, she pointed a finger to the ceiling in thought, “Quick question. A– well, an acquaintance of mine,” she cleared her throat — Rose was no friend to her, “claimed that you were… the easter bunny compared to Klaus.” She offered an amused smile with the delivery of her words.
Elijah’s eyes rolled and shook his head in annoyance, “Your acquaintance must be rather ill-informed, then. I can assure you, where Klaus is concerned, I am the worser-evil to cross.”
“Oh,” Y/n said with a crinkle of her brow, “I don’t doubt it. You strike me as very threatening, Mr. Easter Bunny.”
His eyes narrowed at her, head tilting to the side and a smirk threatening the corner of his lips, “Ms. Y/n, correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe you are… mocking me.”
She feigned thoughtfulness, tapping her chin with her index finger, “I think you might be right!” She laughed quietly with her statement, and Elijah couldn’t help the smile that stretched across his face.
“You bring me here to answer your questions, and instead I am met with mockery— quite frankly, I see no reason why we should deal any further,” he taunted, going to push off the table with one hand while the other pulled his jacket together.
“No, no! Wait,” she surrendered, her hands up by her shoulders, “I give.” She chuckled, smiling a rather giddy grin, “I’ll stop. I’m seriously curious. It’s just funny!”
He raised a brow at her with a tight smile on his face, sitting down and returning to his laid-back position in the seat. “Very well, so, from the beginning.”
For the next few minutes, Elijah explained the curse that they were trying to break. Y/n was taken by much surprise when he revealed that the curse wasn’t real at all, instead written by him and his younger brother hundreds of years ago for kicks and grins. Then, he discussed with her Elena’s importance in it, detailing the necessity for the blood of a dopplegänger, as well as the other ingredients — a vampire, a witch, and a werewolf.
“Niklaus will stop at nothing to make sure this curse is seen through,” Elijah sighed, eyes closing, “and I must make sure that it isn’t.”
Y/n studied him for a moment, processing all of the information before drawing in a breath, “Elijah?”
He looked up at her in question.
“Why? Why do you not want Klaus to break his curse and embrace his natural state?” She wasn’t siding with the other Mikaelson, not in the slightest; the idea that you could finally be who you were after thousands of years of being only half of yourself, she was sure she’d jump at it every opportunity she had, too.
“If he succeeds,” Elijah started, brows dropping and gaze levelling her’s, “then he will be entirely invincible. A hybrid. And, if that happens, he will rage a war on every species he can until he makes everyone cower before him.” He leans back and his chest swells with breath, “That is his natural state. A creature of bloodshed.”
“Oh,” she said, smally. Her eyes fell to the table, gears turning in her mind as she thought of what that could possibly mean. Everyone would be in danger once he became a hybrid — impervious to wooden stakes and practically any harm.
There was a thick silence between them. Y/n wasn’t sure what to ask from there. It just seemed so dim, so dark, like there was no good in Klaus becoming a hybrid. And, truthfully, if the curse was not real, and vampires would always be damned to wear rings else they burn, then there was no good. The ritual was only a very bad idea.
When she looked at Elijah again, his eyes were locked on the window, staring off and lost in his own thoughts. Then a question sparked in her mind, and without much thought, she blurted, “Can you kill him?”
Elijah blinked as he came back to reality, looking to Y/n with a narrowed gaze, “Yes. But that in itself will prove the most difficult task.”
Y/n had the thought of offering her help, but it was quickly squashed by the much more realistic thought that she truly wouldn’t have been able to do much. That, she figured, was a much more deep-rooted familial issue, and she had too many of those to deal with right now. She was not going to get in the middle of them. Instead, she sipped her drink and asked, “You have an idea of what you’re going to do, right?”
He nodded, “I do. Keep the most vital part of the ritual in my possession, strike when the time is right.” His vagueness made her temples itch with curiosity, but she knew it was pointless to ask. He was not going to reveal it all to her — there was trust, but not that much. She respected that.
The rest of their visit was filled with lighter conversation, Y/n filling Elijah in on some of her own life with her brothers. She explained how she was there to help Lexi help Stefan, how she was there when Stefan had found Elena. She skipped over a few of the worser parts of her history — her selective distaste for her eldest brother, being one. But Elijah listened, and she was sure even with the blanks, he could tell just why she’d made this deal in the first place.
“You care deeply for your brothers,” he murmured after a moment, fingers drumming lightly against the table.
“Yes,” she nodded, “you figured that out the first night we met.”
“Well,” he gave another smirk, “it was an educated guess at the time. Nothing more than a shot in the dark, as they say. But, you’ve proven me right.”
She scoffed, licking her lips and nodding, “You know, ‘Lijah,” her name slipped across her tongue so casually it took him almost by surprise, his eyes narrowing for only a moment, “I find it so strange that I can trust you.”
He gave a shrug of his shoulder, “I’ve been told I’ve that effect on people.”
Another laugh, another exchange of adoring glances, and she nodded, “I’m sure you do.”
They held each other’s look for a moment. Her heart was racing in her ears, and she knew he could hear it. But she didn’t mind. Something about the man in front of her drew her nearer, like a drug to an addict, and she was not at all appalled by the idea. In fact, she was intrigued with him. The secrets he held behind those brown eyes, the unsaid words held back by his tongue, the smile that graced his lips, it all told her so much yet so little about him. And she loved it.
Then his phone rang. Quickly, he gave her an apologetic look and answered. His expression dropped, the smile replaced with a slack frown. “Alright. Make sure nothing happens until I get there.” Then he hung up and turned to her with a plastered smile, “Forgive me, Y/n. But I must find my leave.”
“Business?” She offered, witty yet sincere.
He nodded, standing from his seat and fixing his suit jacket. Then he took her hand that had been resting on the table and placed a gentle kiss to the knuckles, “I hope we have the chance to meet like this again, Y/n Salvatore.” Then, he was gone, as if he’d never been there at all.
∞
Over the next few days, it only proves harder and harder for Y/n to keep her side of the deal with Elijah. Elena continuously puts herself in the position of absolute death, and it’s driving all three of the Salvatore’s up the wall. She hadn’t heard from the Original, but she was sure he was aware of all of it, as well, and it the annoyance was settling deep with him, too.
Y/n sat low on the couch, entirely invisible to anyone who were to walk in. She’d heard Damon leave earlier that morning, heard Rose say something of not leaving a girl hanging, and she’d cringed. Of course Damon was sleeping with a kidnapper. Makes perfect sense. She rolled her eyes and scoffed lightly, scrolling through her phone and pushing away the rather horrid mental image.
Then the door opens behind her, yet she doesn’t bother to check to see who comes in. She can already tell by the light feet and the rapid heartbeat. Elena had made her entrance. But she doesn’t say anything, and Y/n thinks a moment about sitting up and asking her what she wants, but Rose beats her to it by coming around the corner and making some flirtatious comment about how Damon left a naked girl in his house.
Again, gross.
She heard their awkward conversation, Elena’s need for something from Rose, and then she perks up when Rose pads away. Why hadn’t she gone to her brothers? Surely if she truly needed something, she would’ve gone to Stefan. But then again, how could she? Stefan, the dumbass, ever valiant white-knight, had gotten himself stuck in a tomb with Katherine, and the reminder of the thought made Y/n wince.
Even then, with their current plight, she would’ve at least considered going to Damon, first. Not Rose. Y/n sighed, sitting up from the couch and catching Elena’s gaze almost instantly. “What, pray tell, are you up to?”
“N– Y/n, I’m not– Nothing, I’m not up to anything,” the Gilbert girl stuttered and Y/n’s eyes narrowed. The vampire didn’t have to say anything before Elena cracked under the weight of her glare, “Fine! Fine! I’m– You can’t tell Damon, okay?”
Y/n looked off to the right, then considered the possibilities. If she didn’t tell her brother, she would likely get a stern talking to, and then life would go on, and if she did tell her brother, he’d probably rip Elena a new one for keeping something so important from him, and Y/n had made a deal with Elijah to keep her safe. Giving in with a sigh, she shrugged, “Fine, I won’t tell ‘im. But you’ve gotta tell me, and if you’re going somewhere, I’m coming with. No argument.”
Elena seemed annoyed enough, but she didn’t come up with anything to say in retaliation. “Yeah, okay. I’m gonna find Klaus. Or get information, anyway. Whichever comes first.”
Y/n stared at her for a moment, lips parting and brows furrowing, “Why?”
Elena said nothing, shrugging.
The vampire’s eyes nearly rolled into the back of her head. She’d have to play it off like she didn’t know about the Original and his wants, and she knew that if Elena started asking too many questions too soon, there was going to be someone bound to come after her. Y/n wasn’t stupid — there was more to this game Elena was playing and she just had yet to show her hand. “You know that is a terrible idea, yeah? If you go poking around too much—” She cut herself off as an open-ended warning.
Again, just a doe-eyed look in response.
Y/n huffed, walking toward the girl and then directly past her, grabbing her jacket from the hook. “Fine. I cannot let you get yourself killed, and you, obviously, are hellbent on doing that, so looks like I’ve gotta step in, huh?”
Y/n’s smile was genuine, but the sarcasm that laced her tone was anything but. She was annoyed, yes, but she did want to make sure Elena stayed safe — both for her brother’s sakes and her own. Rose joined them moments later, clad in leather, and she stopped at the sight of Y/n. Then Elena quickly explained that the Salvatore sister would be coming along, yet the tension didn’t lift.
Y/n was nothing if not critical of the women that were so carelessly brought into the Salvatore’s lives. Especially when they brought ancient vampires out for blood along with them.
“Shall we?”
∞
“So,” Y/n sighed as they approached the rather large looking apartment doors, “this Slater guy has everything you need to get to Klaus? Is that what you’re saying?” “Slater has information on every vampire that’s ever lived,” Rose offered, looking up the door, then down at the handles, “if there’s anyone with a connection to Klaus, he knows them.”
“Well,” Elena gestured to the door, “let’s ask him.”
Rose shot her a look, then knocked once, shouting his name. When there was no response, she was ready to turntail and leave, and Y/n couldn’t say she didn’t agree. But Elena stood her ground, “No. We didn’t come all the way out here for nothing.”
With a roll of her eyes, she pushed in the door and chains rattled to the ground, “After you.”
Y/n and Elena walked in ahead of her, looking around the apartment. It was spacious, modern as modern could get. The vampire smiled at the appreciation this Slater guy had for architecture. There was another beat, Rose calling out Slater’s name before stopping dead in her tracks.
“I don’t think he’s going to be much help,” she called. Elena raced to her spot, and Y/n followed behind, the three of them stopping to stare at the dead vampire lying on the ground.
“Damn,” Y/n whispered, walking past the two women and crouching down to Slater. The wooden stake hadn’t been a stake at all, but something broken off. “Doesn’t look like he struggled with anybody,” her eyes darted around the room before she stood up. “Everything’s in its place, nothing’s messed up. Whoever killed him was in and outta here without so much as a shoeprint.”
Rose deflated as she walked over, leaning down and pressing a soft hand to his shoulder. Within a few minutes, they had covered his body and moved on to what they’d come here to do. Elena walked over to the computer, Rose standing right next to her, and Y/n standing back just a little. When she clicked the mouse, a password screen popped up. “It’s password protected, I can’t get in.”
Rose was quick to offer up the idea of leaving, and once again, Y/n couldn’t see why she was wrong. Then, any thoughts were interrupted by an abrupt clatter from further back in the apartment. Y/n turned over her shoulder, and Rose warned Elena to stay back. The two vampires walked to the source of the sound, Rose looking to the Salvatore before opening the door. At first, it didn’t look like anything had been in there, then a woman peeked around a cabinet, shaking and absolutely terrified.
“Alice?”
“Rose!” The woman came from behind the cabinet, sobbing and falling into Rose. Y/n looked at Rose, then to Elena, the three of them exchanging knowing glances.
It was only becoming harder to convince Elena this was a bad idea.
