Sad Announcement For Those Who Were In ATFC

Arina Tanemura Fan Club. I've lost touch with many of the members but if you're on tumblr still, maybe you will see this message...I hope.

We were a small little group, way back in the 2010s. There was a member by the name of BlueLionheart. She was always very kind and friendly to all and she especially loved animals. Unfortunately, she has had health complications since birth, and we at the Full Moon Discord server have learned that she passed just a few days ago, following her twin sister from three years. My condolences to her family. We will miss you, Blue.

first ever ship: Sakura/Syaoran from Card Captor Sakura. The amount of fanfic I read for them as a pre-teen. Like, Sailor moon was my first fandom and taught me about fansites and fanart. But CCS might have introduced me to fanfic.

im not saying this to discredit dororo being trans (because that is very valid) but the manga more took the approach that dororo was in denial about being a girl because he didn’t actually know his birth gender. he firmly believed he was a boy because no one told him about his true birth gender. however once it was out dororo was actually a girl everyone around him including hyakkimaru just kept telling him to live his life as a girl cause that’s his “true path”.

Please, for the love of god, learn what transgender means. There is so much to unpack with what you just said and what it boils down to is: you don’t seem to have an understanding of the word transgender and who transgender people.

First off, Dororo is not in denial about his gender. If he identifies as a boy and is adamant that the people around him also view him as a boy, then he’s a boy. That doesn’t magically change just because the people around him view as a girl and “tell him to live his life as a girl cause that’s his ‘true path’” as you put it.

Second, that’s called transphobia. That’s also what you’re spouting right now.

Third, I don’t recall Dororo being confused about being afab. I only remember Hyakkimaru assuming this to be the case when Dororo continued to refer to himself as a boy. But maybe I read an inaccurate translation. Mind providing me with proof of your argument?

And finally, I’m pretty sure Hyakkimaru is the only one to tell Dororo to live as a girl. Everyone else either saw him as a boy or were respectful enough to continue referring to him as a boy when he was outed.

What’s your favorite thing about Star Twinkle Precure so far?

woa boy this is gonna be a tough one! instead i’ll list a few of my favorite things:

-The fact that Hikaru, our pink cure is interested in astronomy and cryptids. Its very unusual for a pink coded cure (or any magical girl protagonist for that matter) to have these interests. I really like it and it allows her to stand apart from her contemporaries. 

-Hikaru loves to read!! When she was talking to Lala in ep 2 about how she’s been to space many times thanks to books and how magical they are was so heart warming. Again, its rare for a pink cure to have these kinds of interests. I was hoping Miyuki from Smile was gonna take an interest in books like this but that did not end up happening. I hope this trend continues with Hikaru and this keeps coming up.

-The space theme. I love astronomy so I am very excited to see where they will take this and how they will incorporate it into the show.

-The theme of cultural diversity and how people from different cultures can learn from one another. Introducing cultural diversity to younger kids that watch precure is so important. It is a great opportunity to show that people who are different can still get along and how broadening your world view is valuable to being a well rounded individual. Episode 3 was fantastic because Hikaru and Lala learned that each has their own approach to gathering information, but because of their initial perceived perception of one another, they couldn’t share what they learned because they butting heads. It’s only when they headed Elena’s advice and sat down with each other were they able to succeed.

there’s a lot of other things that i like but for now im just going to leave it at this haha

Absolutely, plus they ended up opening the garden to everyone in the end, so I’m sure there are at least a few volunteers that help tend to it, it was one thing for Flora to take care of it on her own, but I’m sure it would be tough for anyone else.

Man you put all of my thoughts so eloquently. Its just another kick to Julio/Rio’s character and its really unfortunate. Theres still a lot of potential with him and the focus is gonna shift to Ciel completely. While I don’t hate Ciel, I don’t find her very interesting just yet. Yes she worked hard but a lot of things went in her favor and came easy unlike for Julio/Rio. I totally get where he’s coming from too being a twin myself.

I’m glad! I felt like I was just kind of screaming without any logic behind it.

(Actually I’m watching it with my roommate who is a twin with a sister who is brilliant so when we watched the episode she was like “man...Julio is me”. I have similar experiences just with friends, I can only imagine it’s much worse to be related to someone in a situation like that)

But yeah I don’t really /hate/ her. I dislike her as a person, but like her as a character. But she’s definitely not nearly as interesting as Julio is, from an emotional or narrative standpoint.

Miraii, Meiru, and Chika....yup only the girls. LOL

Which of your characters love(s) to do the pranking?

SHOU-CHAN, HE’S AN ASS. XD He’s the type that would wear a terrifying mask at your window at night....oh and he’d keep a checklist of everyone he manages to freak out that entire day. Lmao ass.

Aoto is playful and would do little tricks with his wand to mess with people but not scare them too much.

What scares them the most?

Miraii: Gore and slasher stuff but she’s not big on malevolent ghosts

Shou-chan: Miraii breaking up with him. Oh, you mean horror? This kid is impossible to scare that way. lol

Meiru: Ghosts, blood, demons, death, zombies, evil vampires, werewolves, corpses, serial killers, dark rooms, screaming, mirrors in dark rooms, the dark in general, loud noises, scary music, masks, face paint, glowing eyes, psychotic laughter, those motion detectors that make you jump, those candy bowls with the moving hands....

Takuya: I’m the scariest thing you’ll ever run into. You don’t f*cking know what true terror is; enough with your lame BS over this fake stuff.

Chika: Witch-hunters.

Aoto: Magic getting out of control....there’s some childhood trauma there.

Meiru. She hates scary shit. She only likes the candy. She won’t go outside for it though; ‘bad things will come to get her.’

Takuya hates every day of the year equally, save one, (as he hates that day 1000 times more). He wouldn’t be into Halloween cause “it’s for brats”. lol

Miraii: The Corpse Bride and The Nightmare Before Christmas because ART.

Shou-chan: Whichever movie Miraii hates the most so he can scare her with it. XD (in all honesty he’d love every horror flick you throw at him; The Evil Dead Trilogy would be top tier. Not much scares him; he prefers to laugh at B-grade stuff.)

Meiru: Casper because he’s the only ghost who doesn’t terrify her; she would like to be his friend. But she won’t watch the movie when his uncles come out lol

Chika: Any movie about another little girl becoming a witch, she’d love. But she does not live in a timeline where movies are even a thing

Aoto is in the same boat as Chika. But he’d be huge on Harry Potter for sure (Ravenclaw btw)

Takuya: Uh....so you know that infamous movie about two boys, their little sisters and three witches? He would absolutely not ever watch this goofy, sappy kids’ movie, okay? And he sure as f*ck wouldn’t watch it a second time. And he absolutely positively would not in a million years like it because he can relate to the dumbass male characters and sympathize with the dumbass cat, okay? Oh right, the zombie. There’s a zombie in it and Meiru hates zombies so we’ll turn it on for a few seconds-THAT’S THE ONLY REASON, OK.

i am so with you on this. ive seen a lot of people come down especially hard on hikaru but she is literally??? behaving like 13 year old human child??? of course she is going to be impatient and impulsive thats how 13 year olds on earth behave. It's also well established that she dives into something headfirst. But she is also very intuitive and I think a lot of people are missing that detail.

Yeah, she’s super impulsive. Like nothing thats happened so far would have happened if she wasn’t, she wouldn’t have run out of her house to find Fuwa, she wouldn’t have climbed onboard the ship, she wouldn’t have become Cure Star. She also had reasons for her choices, she found a way to disguise Puruns, she went to the donut shop because she knew they heard a lot of rumors, and she mentioned the firefly because she thought it might be what they were looking for. Impulsive, yes, but stupid she is not.

Definitely Heartcatch! I grew up with ojamajo doremi so when I saw a lot of the same staff coming back to do heartcatch and watching that first episode I knew it was going to instantly hook me!
