I'm Sweet Enough: Yorkshire's Top 5 Dessert Shops

It's no secret that God's own county has developed a sweet tooth. Whether it's packed into a takeaway box and delivered to your doorstep, or you find yourself sat within the store enjoying a catch up with friends, dessert shops are currently more versatile than they've ever been.

Here's a *current* top 5 of my favourite dessert shops in Yorkshire, in no particular order...a must visit for those with sugar cravings through the roof.

1. Dolly's Desserts, Barnsley

That good, there's 2. Within a 3 minute walking distance, you can enjoy Dolly's twice if you wanted to. You'll find a wide range of gelato, milkshakes, cookie dough and fresh bakes - all made in house. It's a family run business, with mum and daughter claiming the name of the store was chosen because of fur baby Dolly. The boujee interior is a must for those Instagram shots too.

2. Creams Cafe, Sheffield

Promising a mouthwatering sweet and savoury menu, Creams is well known for their out of this world flavours. Italy-sourced ingredients make their gelato as authentic as you can get it and if crepes or sundaes aren't hitting the spot, perhaps a boba pearl sundae will do the trick?

3. The Pink Flamingo Dessert Bar, Doncaster

I couldn't go two minutes without mentioning something pink, could I? With its boujee interior and large range of desserts, I had to add Pink Flamingo to the list. As well as desserts, they provide smash cakes for photoshoots, afternoon tea platters and you can even book them for special events. Lush!

4. The Yard, Goldthorpe

One of the first takeaways I ever ordered from was The Yard. Amazing thick milkshakes, piping hot cookie dough, mouthwatering waffles...and one of the first in the area at the time to offer Tango Ice Blasts. I'll always have a special place in my heart for The Yard, it was the first of its kind in the area and continues to be one of the best.

5. Yoh Burger, Rotherham

At Yoh Burger, as the name suggests, it specialises in incredible burgers. However, make it a full meal by purchasing one of their desserts alongside. Wash down your main meal with a thick milkshake, or fill your sweet tooth tummy (your savoury tummy is obviously full) with a chocolatey waffle covered in pieces of your favourite chocolate bars.

Now that your tastebuds are tingling and you're ready to transport yourself to sugar heaven, get yourself down to these amazing dessert spots.
