Happy Sock Sunday! || Review: Ace of Shades ||⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ + 1/2 All I can say in regards to this book is wow. My expectations were pretty much through the roof but it still left me reeling. Ace of Shades is one of those books where I thought I knew what to expect, but the story was actually so different, and so much fun. Enne and Levi are some of my new favorite characters of all time, Enne grows so much and becomes quite a fierce player in the City of Sin. Levi is hilarious and sweet and his struggles just made my heart ache for him. Their slow burn romance certainly kept me strung along and I’m *still* a little mad that I didn’t get to see a certain thing happen! 😂 Amanda Foody is an incredibly skilled world builder as well, New Reynes has the perfect atmosphere and every detail melded together to create a mysterious, thrilling setting. The magic system is really unique, and I love how there’s still so many layers left to explore. I could never guess any of the plot twists if I tried, and the explosive ending had me flipping pages at rapid speed. This book had all the gambling, gang drama, card-playing, and thieving that this Six of Crows-obsessed girl could hope for! It is impossible for my wallet to keep up with all the new releases (and older ones) that I want to read. I LOVE utilizing my local library, the Edythe L. Dyer Community Library. If they don't have the book I want, they can get it from another library in the state that does. I'm such a regular that when I walk in now, they're already reaching for my book on the shelf! I’ll probably never get an answer, my comment will probably get deleted and maybe they’ll block me. But hey, at least I tried. Maybe someone will read this and decide NOT to buy the book because of all the hurtful tropes in it. Every person who decides to avoid this book adds to the change we can do as a community.
