Half the reason I got this 'not social media' page is for the artwork that humans create.

This is one of those pieces though that I tweaked so much that I just had to eventually call it done. I’m pretty happy all things considered but I struggled a lot with Simon. 

I know the “request idea” was for Simon to have black shorts but it didn’t look good when I did it...so khaki it is. I imagine that Athena got him the outfit and he loves her too much to actually say no. (Athena thought the picture was a little plain so added stickers)

My head canon of these two is that Nahyuta is flirty and likes to get up in Simon’s personal space because he knows it flusters him. Simon gets all grumpy because he secretly likes it but hates that he reacts to it.

So, here’s a random selection of things:

1)Hadn’t she sat Boaz on one side of the scales and the kids and Sophie on the other, and hadn’t she known right from the start that it would be Sophie and the kids that she’d choose?

2)Tamar almost added right? onto the end, almost looked at Lio with pleading eyes, almost held her tighter and silently demanded confirmation that there would be many more years to come, but she looked at their joined hands instead, rubbed her thumb over the back of Lio’s fingers, kept her mouth shut.

3)It was rather like a steady sea in the evening, sugary tea when you were tired, the reopening of a book you had previously enjoyed.

hey do you guys think that apollo keeps clay's phone when he dies? keeps it in his desk drawer, away from prying eyes? he keeps the number, moves it to his phone bill (not that he can really afford it, but the idea of losing this piece of clay makes him panic and feel nauseous and terrified), and it just sits there. he calls it sometimes, even though it only ever goes into voicemail. Apollo calls, and he leaves voicemail. Sometimes it's just as simple as wanting to hear Clay talk. Sometimes, he tells him about his day, or a weird case he defends. When he moves to Khura'in, he calls multiple times a day, because everything is suddenly so different and all he really wants is to just listen to his friend again, he just wants some sense of comfort. Clay's phone gets to hear about Dhurke's death, about fixing Khura'in, about Nahyuta and just how badly Apollo wishes they could have met, because he just knows Clay would have adopted them like he did Apollo. Apollo can't get into Clay's phone, of course, because Clay changed his passcode just before going to space and never told Apollo. Apollo could thumbprint unlock it, but the damn phone makes you use the PIN when it's being unlocked for the first time after being turned back on, and it kills him, because he knows there's so much stuff on Clay's phone that Clay would want him to have access to that he just can't get to. Athena finds the phone one day when she's cleaning Apollo's old desk, and puts two and two together. He had gone into a panicked frenzy when he couldn't find it, tore half the office apart, and it's just fallen behind the bottom slat of the drawer, literally unfindable unless you're bored and decide to fuck with the entire drawer itself. She takes it to Aura when she realizes it's locked, asks Aura to unlock it. Aura does it because she knows Apollo is still grieving, and she'd be a liar if she said she didn't listen to some of Metis's voicelogs on repeat that first year or so she was gone
