there were lots of memorable things happening in the fe3h fandom in the few years after it came out, but that whole confederate AU sylvix thing might be one of the most wtf moments

#still wish i had my screenshots from that time. couldnt find any pics of it anywhere unfortunately#oh yeah there was also that fanartist who drew despicable me incest fanart#most other things i can remember are just your average discourse about certain red and blue lords from the game but that's about it#elftisms#fire emblem#fe3h#fire emblem three houses#sylvix#sylvain jose gautier#felix fraldarius#if any of yall still have the screenshots please post them i can only find people talking about the fic online#nothing from the actual fic nor about the person who wrote it#i dont really like fe3h like at all anymore but this shit was so funny

do you think kanthony fandom is dying ?
I feel like this is hard for me to answer just because I'd say I'm more on the edge of the fandom rather than really in it (by nature of being much more involved in a different fandom lol), but I'd say no. Personally I haven't noticed a decrease in activity from my own blog and I still have new people following me every once in a while. And outside of my blog, there are so many people still creating content for them. New people are making gifs (which I am so grateful for!!), and people are writing fanfiction and making fanart (I wish more fanartists were on tumblr though!). I don't think the kathony fandom is going anywhere anytime soon, and with season 3 coming up I'm sure we'll see a bit of a burst in interest/creativity/engagement. I know I'm not the only one who's excited to see more of them!!
#and i promise I'm not going anywhere#unless tumblr becomes uninhabitable I'll keep this blog going#also if any fanartists are seeing this feel free to tag me in your work because I'd love to see and reblog it!!#ask#anonymous

i'm sorry but the nurchie "art" is clearly AI generated??? can we please stop sharing and praising shit that some algorithm spat out without ever asking the original creators whose work it steals and regurgitates for their permission
- sincerely, a pissed-off artist
Hello,
I’m going to set the record straight, and I’d suggest you read carefully before making any more baseless accusations. Nurchie is an actual artist—a trained one, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in digital art and two-dimensional studies (drawing and painting) from a prestigious university. She has 16 years of professional design/digital art experience, and a publicly documented portfolio going back well before AI art even existed.
go look at her earliest work on Deviantart and you'll see how precisely detailed she draws hands, fingers, and clothing. Everything, really.
If you had bothered to do any homework, you’d see that her work reflects thousands of hours of dedicated practice and the expertise of a seasoned digital artist.
Calling her work AI generated is BEYOND insulting. it’s lazy, dismissive, and downright disrespectful to a person who has spent years honing her craft.
She doesn’t ask for clout, she doesn’t do commissions, she doesn't have a patreon or Kofi. She only made a Twitter years ago because I asked her to share her talent with the world or she wouldn't even bother.
This tendency to label any polished work as “AI” just shows ignorance, plain and simple. Real artists deserve better than to have their skills lumped in with AI machine-generated content by people who can’t tell the difference.
Each of her digital paintings takes anywhere from 30-80+ hours. For Altered State specifically, she's been working on all these art pieces for months while I've been on a posting hiatus. Her incredible work keeps me inspired; I would have literally quit ages ago. We go back and forth on details from the writing in the fic and I see these changes she makes in real time.
She paints in her limited free time for these niche fandoms because she loves the stories and wants to support the writers in it. In a world where fandom is becoming increasingly commodified, she is a rare gem.
I didn't even want to bother Nurchie with this silly comment of yours, but she's such a good sport she just laughed at the idea that anyone could accuse her art of being AI generated. She uses a combo of adobe CC suite and clip studio to draw.
nurchie messaged me this, and I asked for her permission to share it: [I just think they are probably some struggling artist, upset that they feel replaced by soulless AI and are lashing out any time they think they see it. I'm sympathetic to their feelings, and understand the annoyance. I've been battling the improper usage of it in my workplace. AI is not AI but just a data collection tool, and I completely agree that the human eye could never be replaced by it.]
yeah, she's the most chill, sweetest person ever, too. So maybe think twice before throwing around accusations you clearly can’t back up. You're trying to hurt a real artist.
-sincerely,
A writer who knows a real artist
https://www.deviantart.com/nurchie/gallery
edit: also accusations like this drive away real fanartists. Why should they bother sharing their work if their talent and skill are being dismissed as some algorithm's output? it's toxic. fandom spaces will be flooded with AI-generated content in the future because all the true artists will have left.
#asks#tomione#can you believe this shit#sent my heartrate skyrocketing in anger#anti ai#imagine painting a hand for hours#just to be called ai#i'd quit#but maybe that was anon’s malicious intent#don't quit guys

Things I've noticed with fairy tail merch that send me into a spiral:
Juvia having almost no merch that doesn't sexualize her.
Also juvia having barely any merch, fan or official, that doesn't include gray
Levy having no official merch, and largely only ship content for fan merch.
Side characters with much less screen time then levy getting merch over her (sherry and angel get put in the blind bags but not my girl?!)
So much AI art clogging the space. Can we not? It's so incredibly obvious and it's ugly.
A big lack of merch for Erza's various armors
Lucy having better luck with merch that isn't just fanservice, but still not by much.
Good luck finding any merch for lesser loved guild characters, even in the fan content.
I'm not going to sit here and get mad at fanartists for not making content I want. At this point I've decided I'll make the merch I want from the fandom myself. But I am just frustrated with how hard it is to find non-ship merch anywhere.
Juvia gets merch sure, but trying to find any of her as a character that isn't weird is like a needle in a haystack. And even in fan spaces you could see a solo juvia thing, but somehow an image of gray still gets slipped in.
Levy is fully neglected as a character in official content. She's just an accessory to Gajeel both in the canon of the show and most merch, and it drives me crazy.

Weinero issues
Not that I'm complaining or lamenting, but it's kind of sad that outside of ao3 fanfics and few fanartists on pixiv, Weiss/Nero has little content and little fans, their pairing isn't even included in the Final Fantasy ships, they don't have fan pages anywhere, just two Nero fan pages on tumblr that barely get updated, and dead fan pages of Nero or Weiss separately from 2013-2016 on twitter, and the new ones are troll pages of Weinero haters (they attacked me and a few Asian artists who draw Weinero). That's it. That's all.
Support is weak, or nonexistent.
You can see all the ship combinations, even the absurd or disturbing ones, but Weiss/Nero won't be on any lists.
It's weird, considering their love is written about in two official FF7 guides (Ultimania), and the canon love line is in the game itself.
What is wrong with them or with people? Is no one moved by their love and their interesting and deep story?
Why do the most absurd ships exist (for example of characters who have never met each other or are enemies without chemistry, or have nothing in common, but I don't mean that it's impossible, everyone ships whatever they want, these are fictional characters, now we're talking about something else, about why one exists despite the lack of reason and logic, and the other does not, despite a good basis and connection), while others, logical, beautiful and emotional ones, barely exist?
You might say that Dirge of Cerberus isn't popular on its own… then why is there a ship like Vincent/Yuffie or Vincent/Shelke (both girls are minor) that originates from Dirge?
People seriously discuss who Vincent would romantically love, Yuffie or Shelke.
And this ship post with Vincent/Shelke.
I just typed their names and this came out, this is what people looking the most.
You'd think it's because Vincent is popular, okay, let's type Vincent and Nero. Here. No "love story" or "romance"!
The Weiss and Nero stuff is just as sad. No discussion or anything other than brief mentions, copypasta from official sources, or "ugh, ship them? You can't love someone without suxualizing/romanticizing them anymore", "I like them as a brothers, no homo/no yaoi" etc.
Of course, things can be much more complicated than it seems, and I don't really understand the reasons, and maybe I draw the wrong conclusions.
I just want to say that some things in the ff7 fandom make me uncomfortable and even hurt, it makes me sad, but there is no guarantee that it will be better in other fandoms (to be honest, in others it is even worse, I look at Elden Ring, Dark Souls, Naruto, Marvel... )

AITA for calling somebody out for trying to pass AI art off as original art?
So, I (16F) am a fanartist. Somebody I follow reblogged something that looked like AI art to me, but OP described it as an original gauche painting. I saved the photo and ran it through several AI art detection websites that all came back positive. This pissed me off, so I decided to take action: 1.) I screenshotted the entire post and reposted it with a caption along the lines of, "This is not original artwork. This is stolen AI art." 2.) I direct messaged the five people who reblogged it with a similar message and 3.) I replied to the original post with the same thing.
Of the five people I DMed, one person (the person I'm following) deleted the reblog and expressed similar suspicions, one person blocked me, and three people took no action. And the callout post I made didn't get any traction, so (as far as I'm aware) this was entirely between OP and me.
Anyways, OP pretty quickly replied to me and called me a troll and insisted it was original artwork. I replied to them and said I'd run it through AI art detection websites that came back positive, but if they could take a photo of the "painting" in another angle, I'd issue a full public apology. OP replied again and said they'd sold the painting at an auction in the 1990s, but they'd try to contact the buyer to give me the proof. I went to bed and did not reply again.
The next morning, I discovered that OP had deleted all the "paintings" off their account (I believe it was all AI), so I deleted my callout post and decided to let it rest. Unfortunately, I soon discovered that OP had also released a statement (I think it was about a thousand words) about internet policing where they said they wouldn't post art online anymore because of harassment. They claimed that the painting looked weird because they'd adjusted the color gain in photoshop since the photo was taken in the 1990s. (If you know what color gain is, then you'll know that this doesn't make sense.)
I still felt fairly confident that it was AI art, but I started to feel guilty in the off chance that I was wrong and had singlehandedly convinced somebody that their art was bad and undeserving of being posted online. I cried for a while and talked it over with my dad who sided with me. (My dad is a philosopher so he's very knowledgeable about ethics.)
Then, I went to camp for two weeks, and when I returned, OP had still not provided any proof, so I blocked them.
Additional information:
OP uses their "real name" on Tumblr, but I couldn't find evidence of an artist using that name anywhere else on the internet, which seems strange since they've apparently been working professionally since the 1990s.
OP's oldest art post on Tumblr was from September 2022, which would've been in the height of the AI art craze.
OP has also posted property labeled AI art.
And, this is the real kicker, I later found out that the AI art detection websites aren't always accurate.
What are these acronyms?

very much related to my text post from earlier today- and my general tone and feelings abt this while writing is just like, neutral thoughtful retrospectiveness bc im an oldhead in fandom and ive seen a lot of shifts in online culture. so this is basically me doing a pseudo-anthropology amateur hour thing about what ive seen and also partook in when i was a tween/teenager. but i do actually think i know why so many ppl get really fuckin nasty and petty about ships and headcanons beyond, yknow, the bullshit fake morality dischorse thats just ship wars with extra excuses to enact cruelty- which is that everyone in fandom, but particularly fanartists on tumblr/twitter with a big following who have had a big following for years, are
1) extremely attached to their headcanons and how they view a text/canon (reasonable and human, thats how fandoms work), and
2) because theyre so extremely attached to their headcanons and personal lens they think they're the only one in the fandom whos 100% correct, who has all the answers, who has the ultimate understanding of xyz. in this case homestuck.
and i think its particularly bad in the homestuck fandom because theres so much to analyze. homestuck is a CHUNKY piece of media. its been going for ages, its had so much time to mature and breath as a piece of art. its not for casual fannish folks. even if you go into it expecting a chill and mild time you usually come out the other end with ur hair smoking and with a thousand yard stare. and like, i dont think this is a bad thing necessarily, but it becomes a bad thing when
3) bc the fandom is old, there are a considerable amount of fanartists with large followings who all think theyre the only one whos 100% correct and that their ideas are 'closest to god', meaning closest to the creators ideas
and finally- 4) their following gives these popular fans a constant stream of yes-manning which then leads to dogpiling on anyone who dares to disagree with the popular fanartist's headcanon, or even when anyone just has a different one, a disagreement isnt rlly needed. the headcanon can be anything up to and including smth like height btw, i have seen this happen
and theres also the core of this, which is that way too many fandoms seems to have forgotten what the term headcanon even MEANS. theres too much emphasis on the '-canon', which actually doesnt mean a fuckin thing when it comes to headcanons. its playing imaginary on top of something already imaginary. i dont think dirk strider being intersex is anywhere close to canon for example. honestly i dont even think dirk strider was intended to be written as anything but a cis perisex boy. but its my headcanon, which is a bubbled thing relative to me that i like messing around with in AUs
the thing about art is that no one in the audience is or will ever be ''100% correct''. no one in the audience will ever know what the creator of a piece was actually thinking of when they made it. the only one who has total and complete understanding of any work is the creator of said work, and even then thats not a given if the creator doesnt actually want to think abt everything theyve created. and i think thats okay and normal!
i really really really want to see less ppl in fandom wanting to be Correct and wanting their headcanons to be Hard Unignorable Confirmed Canon so they can be smug abt 'guessing correctly' and more ppl just wanting to have fun and explore a work from multiple angles. together. like thats actually what a fandom does, historically. we're at an arts and crafts table. ive never considered transmasc jade before for example. shes usually a trans girl in my stuff. but transmasc jade is a concept that fuckin rocks and that i now love a lot bc i saw it pop up and be explored within fandom! esp bc trans guy jade is really adorable alongside june. they swapped!
it reminds me of the fuckin 'blue curtains' thing, disregarding bad faith anti-intellectual bs nonanswers. the curtains are blue bc blue represents sadness, loneliness, want, comfort, the sky, the ocean. theyre blue bc blue is the character's favourite colour and the author wanted them to want it in their living space. theyre blue bc its the AUTHORS favourite colour and they just like using it to paint pictures either visually or with words. all of these are correct analysis of why a character's curtains could be blue. theres no wrong answer there when it comes to us as the audience thinking about art. the actual wrong answer is attacking anyone who thinks the blue curtains are blue for a different reason than you do, or that they hold any meaning at all
#our t#now do this for trans headcanons/genderbend aus and ship preferences im begging for the love of god#and im specifically saying fanartists bc of the visual aspect#a lot of fanfic for homestuck tends to be more vague or outright doesnt state anything abt visual headcanons beyond height or#weight or like freckles/scars or hair texture. its also in my experience easier to superimpose my own visual hcs onto fic#like whether or not roxy for eg is ever described visually in a fic imma imagine them as brown that kinda thing#but fanart highlighting headcanons is *specifically crafted* with those personal headcanons in mind for everyone to see#thats predominantly why we're here when it comes to fanart i think. as viewers i mean

ngl this is such a disturbing sentiment but I suppose it’s the end result of things like “content creator” + “lost media” obsession + entitlement + the increasingly normalized thought that if it’s not posted on social media it didn’t happen. You guys are talking about shit like fan art made by single artists in their free time as if it’s an indie darling film that never got a physical release. It’s NOT YOURS even if you “really really really like it” or it totally “changed your life” or whatever. Take a screenshot and save it to your desktop. An artist can delete the work they share for free online whenever and for any reason and you have to accept this. Another PERSON made the work with their own 2 hands, I know the line gets blurred in the digital age, especially now that people are basing a lot of their self worth and personality on media they consume, but this isn’t a machine spitting out AI drawings. the artist behind the work makes the final call on everything. No piece of the work is yours. So many people on that post are saying it’s selfish to delete and “clean up” your social media and foolish to get rid of old artwork to see where you came from (“tree rings” etc). You know not everything has to be posted online to exist, right? These works can still be saved offline in a sketchbook or desktop. A lot of younger artists now seem to think they need to post everything they make online or it isn’t “real” , and then subsequently this creates anxiety about making any sort of art in the (eternal) learning process that doesn’t look perfect. My advice to less experienced artists (and more if they need it) is to actually be LESS precious about your sketchbooks, especially in the digital age. Try doing a bunch of warmups or something completely out of your comfort zone and then rip the pages up. It’s freeing to physically practice and not feel like the process is documented forever, especially if you have anxiety about starting anything. I saw a call for art notice about a “sketchbook” based show where you would have to cut pages out of yours to submit to the gallery. The boomer and genX artists in the comments were losing their minds about the sanctity of their sketchbooks and one of them even likened cutting pages out of it to being sexually violated. I find this a truly creatively stifling mindset and it really cemented for me the importance of being more loose and free with the work you create.
The event that showed me how grotesque the “I’m entitled to your work” mindset can get was what happened to fanartists and the creator of the Wonderlab comic for the ongoing protest/boycott of Project Moon and their gambling game Limbus Company. Over the summer PM fanartists mass deleted their related art and sometimes entire accounts to protest the antifeminist actions of the company. This is not artwork they want shared anywhere anymore, they are literally boycotting the company and yet folders of their deleted work were getting passed around publicly by people who felt entitled to it. The users continue to be dedicated to the boycott and with their exodus have significantly dropped Limbus Company’s revenue and daily/monthly active users. The creator and illustrator of Wonderlab, a comic commissioned by Project Moon, filed to have her work taken down from their site due to their antifeminist actions and the request was granted. She does not want this work circulated and does not want to be associated with PM. Following this action, fans re-uploaded the entire comic to google docs and reposted it frequently all over social medias, a lot of which (going by their comments) was to spite her. She got some of the reposts deleted which spiked a huge harassment campaign against her with PM fans laughing at her distressed twitter posts across places like reddit and 4chan, and calling her hysterical for saying pornographic illustrations of the child characters from her comic were disgusting. It was disturbing to watch unfold to say the least. This is a dangerous mindset to slip in to and it seems like the sentiment just keeps growing. This is NOT “lost media”, this is the art version of “the right to be forgotten”.

Doing artfight this year has made me think a lot.
The general response my characters, the world and stories I’ve made have received there has been unlike anything I’ve ever experienced here or anywhere else. Every favorite, every comment, every genuine question has meant a thousand times more to me than getting 100 likes here on some dumb fanart I farted out. Because even though here on tumblr I go out of my way to downplay and apologize for drawing original Santropia related art, I have put so much thought into it, and it is truly where my passion as an artist lies.
But over the years, whenever I’ve tried to steer my art towards the things, the characters I actually care about, the inevitable drop in engagement has scared me, and I run back to drawing things that can secure me some empty, meaningless likes.
I’ve come to hate how I present myself on this blog. I present myself as a generally unserious fanartist without any stories to tell or anything to say. And that is NOT who I am. Even my blog name is a stupid shitpost.
I don’t have any ambition of monetizing my art, as I am privileged to be financially stable due to my non-art related job. All I want is to tell my stories, to make people care. And right now I’m not giving anyone the opportunity to even begin to care, as I shoot myself in the foot constantly.
I don’t want to make any grand statements, but I’m going to have a serious think about what my priorities as an artist are, and how I want to present myself going forwards.
Thanks to anyone who read this to the end.
#my art#thoughts#this is NOT meant as an original art vs fanart thing#I am purely speaking about myself and what I want to do as an artist

Sorry for yet another long post but I think someone was yelling at you? I'm unsure, the post was written as if it was incoherent screaming to me. All I know is that they called you racist and to learn to read a map. Learning that Benin is the birthplace of voodoo isn't going to change anything. It doesn't matter how educated or uneducated one is, we can all call a spade a spade. We know English speaking fandom has gone to the dogs. Every three blogs you click you're going to see a DNI list and people will tell you to kys for being too visible.
Did that anon go off on you for assuming that Japanese fandom spaces are different than western ones? They are. South Koreans and Japanese fandoms have changed in recent era, but not the way that American spaces have in the past twenty years. American fandoms need to see ALL fiction be the representation of the real world that they personally want to see. You're not allowed to make nsfw art for Jade Harley because she was introduced as a 13 year old so she will always be a 13 year old! But if you wanted to you can make porn of Roxy because HE is trans. Homestuck might have these dark themes and explore them but you can't! But now they decided that you can, but only if you're talking about gender issues. Japanese fandom doesn't really think the same way Americans do about fiction. They do have futanari porn and what American fandom calls "cuntboys," but from what I've seen the art comes off less as a political statement or an exploration of gender issues, and more of pornography the artists make because it's interesting and erotic. It is a completely different tone. Sex positivity in western fandoms has eroded so much people need to make excuses to showcase their fetishes. Japanese people... don't really need to. BUT they have changed to be more "progressive" though. That I can tell. Japanese people depict different races in their art more often now. Still at times I think Japanese people make characters with dark skin because they think it's stylish, they aren't really depicting black people. Koreans care more about feminism now too. You see it in the splatoon fandom a lot. That's just my observation. I don't understand the Korean language so someone else might know better. But I do understand Japanese enough to know the vibe is worlds apart from American fandom. I mostly hang around fandoms that are female dominated though, you know, the parts with BL? Female dominated fandom is different than the male dominated parts. I don't really care to know what the manly-man side of Japanese fandoms are doing, I assume it's similar to Americans. Where men make pornography of any character and they hardly get a slap on the wrist for it. You'll see one people in the comments point out that misty was underage in the show, but then people will jump in to defend the art saying "she was 18 in the games." It seems like most the male artists making the porn they want to get more and more support. Ever noticed it's mostly women policing other women behavior in western fandom?
We're also leaving out something crucial. The Russian/Slavic side of the fandom is fun as hell. People literally can do anything they want. If you see a fanartist is from Russia, you know you're going to see some wild m/m parings.
Anywhere that's not North America or parts of Europe (mostly United Kingdom), just enjoy the things they like and not bother others for stupid things like accusing if one person is racist for making a lighting on a dark skin character. And yeah, it's women policing other women. So much for feminism empowerment if said girls also put down other females for just doing what they like. But then again, most of feminism has been about being only one kind of girl that is accepted and girls acting something else is a sin. It ain't better than the shit before women's rights ideal of what a lady should act like.

Hi! Do you have any Naruto fanfics (specifically Kakashi and Sasuke)? Sorry for bothering I just can't find any good ones anywhere. Thanks for your time <3
Hi! Don’t worry, you’re not bothering me. I totally sympathize with this; the lack of Kakashi and Sasuke material out there really took me by surprise when I first finished Naruto. I unfortunately can’t answer your question about fic too thoroughly - despite my current Naruto obsession, I generally don’t read fic for fandoms where I’m actively writing, unless it’s something written by a friend. But I know there are other people who hang out on my blog who might have recommendations, so maybe they’ll be able to chime in here with something they’ve enjoyed!
In terms of just general suggestions, you might consider checking out @keepyourpantsongohan’s blog - she cares a lot about Kakashi and Sasuke’s relationship (and about Kakashi and Yamato, which is like striking gold twice) - her posts were a huge breath of fresh air for me when I first started checking out the Naruto fandom, and she’s been in the fandom much longer than I have, so it’s possible she might have some recommendations to consider.
If you enjoy AU stories, I’d also recommend checking out @padmerrie! She’s a writer + fanartist who’s just as invested in Kakashi and Sasuke’s relationship as I am, and her Bookends 'verse is a modern-day au where Kakashi becomes Sasuke’s guardian at a young age. Kakashi and Sasuke’s relationship as a family unit is the core of the premise, though the Bookends!verse also features Madara and Hashirama as Sasuke’s meddling “grandparents,” alive!Team Minato (minus Minato, that is, and not without that group’s characteristic brand of issues), and all the other characters you might expect to see in the Naruto ‘verse, with the addition of Kakashi’s (eight) pet dogs and Sasuke’s (one) pet cat.
The story isn’t being written in chronological order (Bookends is more like an AU sandbox we play in whenever we feel like it, which is always), and there’s more to it than what has been written down so far, but there’s a basic intro post about the AU on @padmerrie’s blog, two one-shot fics set in that universe hosted on her AO3 page (with more currently in progress), and lots of fanart and other related posts on her tumblr under the bookends or vague bookends thoughts tags.
(I tend to post about this AU fairly regularly too, in between working on canon stuff, so you can find related posts on my own blog under those same tags.)
And that’s about it for my recommendations! Perhaps other folks here might be able to drop some recs of their own - if you guys know of any Kakashi & Sasuke stories you’ve enjoyed, feel free to drop them in the replies for @chocolatewobblermuffinwagon.
#i really really feel you on this; it was so weird to me when i finished the show+manga and checked out the fandom for the first time#i've only very rarely found anybody on here who seems to have watched the same show as I did when it comes to kakashi and sasuke#it's still a strange phenomenon to me#but i've moved on from wondering what everyone else was watching to writing fic for the story *i* watched; which is more fun for me#unfortunately said fic is very long and will likely not be finished for a year or two so i cannot responsibly recommend waiting for it XD#naruto#replies

right there’s something to be said about oversexualising women’s bodies in media but this is literally just some fanart of something that doesn’t exist it’s not exploiting feminine bodies in any way like anime or video games where the proportions are fucking absurd it’s normal bodies . like is it an insecurity thing bc i am a box i’ve got no hips no ass no tits nothing and extreme body dysmorphia and insecurity and even i’m not jealous of a cartoon drawing of two women that don’t exist anywhere in media or on the planet . it feels so performative to try and bring down like regular fanartists as opposed to ppl who actually contribute to the mass oversexualisation of feminine and lesbian ppl

Name your 5 favorite Stranger Things fics you've read in 2022 and the top 5 fics you are looking forward to reading next year (or very soon)
{<3}
to be put on a favs list of any caliber is crazy so these are literally not in order at all i love every single fanfic writer you are all incredible and creative and amazing <3
here are the top 5 in no particular order <3
1.) bury me in metamorphoses (with galatea, my sweet) by hiscleric. this is the most amazing and fantastic piece of literature i have ever read, bar none. it is so beautifully written. i haven’t ever read anything like it. the best. i cannot believe blythe is my friend. everything he touches turns to gold.
2.) find beauty in a message by doziertozier on ao3. this knocked me on my ass. absolutely floored me. boris pavlikovsky x will byers is a pairing i cannot believe isn't written more, and the way this writer tackles past theo and past mike... chefs kiss. made me yell while reading. beauty.
3.) honey-mouthed by smoosnoom. i could cry about this one actually, no joke. i stayed up so late to read this and was kicking my feet and giggling the entire time. mike wheeler being a cringefail loser is something that can be so personal. thank u moon for being my friend. you are incredible and i love u.
4.) touch like velvet by ciders! insanity. fake dating trope with byler is so..... SO good. it's just fantastic. tens across the board.
5.) of course, i have to include force of gravity by oceanfruit444. incredible writing and beautiful storytelling. it feels like this fic turned into a cult classic so quickly. i'd be so proud if i were the writer. great job, oceanfruit. i remember refreshing the story day in and day out to look for a new chapter. amazing work. <3
and for the top five im looking forward to, i have to say absolutely anything tumblr user hiscleric writes. i am being genuine when i say i have never read writing like his anywhere. same with smoosnoom! i will probably be scanning ao3 for byler content for the rest of my days and this list will likely change in the next two or three months. thank you to all fanfic writers and fanartists, really. you guys are the lifeblood of fandom.
#byler#byler fics#byler fic rec#thank you for everything fr <3#i know i favor blythe and moon#but its becos i love them and i rly mean it

Having a bad day on the Disco Elysium subreddit... Someone reposting art saying they don't know the artist... I suggested to maybe not repost art *especially* since they can't even credit/find a source.
I was downvoted to hell and some people made outright fun of me saying they wouldn't bother reading my explanations, that they were fine with their own art being reposted anywhere without credit (and so I guess everyone else is).
The deep irony of everyone in the sub being super vocally in support of the core artists as they fight to regain control of their IP, only to turn around and give hate to people who point out that it'd be nice to give fanartist some right to control their work to is just.... Especially when it's often the same people karma farming by reposting art they don't own...
Sigh. Whatever. IDK what I expected from any reddit sub.
