hi!! i'm really excited for this blog and i don't want to be a pain, but could you please tag ships for fanfiction? including y/n fics? ie. chanyeol x reader, baekhyun x kai, etc.? it'd just be easier to browse or mute certain ships :3c right now, it's hard to find what you're looking for by scrolling through the fanfiction tag

Hi! Thank you for sending in this ask, and let me preface this with you're not a pain and I understand why you're asking, although I apologize in advance as I'm sure this is not gonna be quite the answer you're looking for.

I'm still finding my feet, so to speak, with the needed balance between IRL obligations, making time for my own creative fanworks and this blog. The whole purpose of this project is twofold. One to try and get more people interacting both with each other and with fan created posts. And the second is to encourage people to make fan creations.

I'm frankly failing miserably at the moment lmao, but I expected that coming into this. Its still early days and the culture here isn’t going to change overnight. If it changes at all. I can't control what other people put on thier blogs, nor can I make people interact with each other or in the community blog, but I can try to create opportunities for those inclinated to interact the chance to do so, and I can control what goes on this blog; which is every tumblr based fan creation I come across. With a few other types thrown in for good measure.

As time allows, I've been reblogging the posts that people have tagged me in, such as in the case of all of the fanart seen in previous days. I also take a little time each night before bed and check the exo tag and the forexols tag for any fan creations posted that day. In the case of the christmsas posts I sacrificed some of my sleeping hours to do a deep dive into the exo christmas tag. With all of these my goal is to share as many fan creations as possible in the time I have so I'm honestly not paying too much attention to content beyond type. To be truthful, and I apologize in advance for my bluntness, the tagging system I have in place right now is less for you guys and more for me. A less heavy tagging system means more time scrolling. I tag the things I’m most likely to feature, for example our fanfiction creators, I can just type fanfiction and have the entire list at hand to quickly add to the queue. Same for say a members birthday, I just need to type thier name. I have no plans on differentiating between shipping or reader insert or oc when it comes to sharing our fandom creators and after a small trial run with a heavier tagging system I decided that time constraints meant a lighter tagging system works better for me at this point in time.

That being said. This may change in the future or it may not, however to aid people in finding fic to suit thier tastes I am compiling a Library of fanfic writer's masterlists. It'll be sorted by shipping and reader insert/oc with potentially a small description of what they write mainly. It is an ongoing project because like I mentioned before this blog is new. It's only been up for about 20 days. Less than a month. But eventually the library will be a lot fuller than it is now. It's not a perfect solution to what you want, but its what I can currently offer.

Again I'm sorry that you're having difficulties finding what you're looking for specifically, but I'm currently dealing in generalities and will be for the foreseeable future.

F - Franchesca (Hozier's new album Unreal Unearth) I chose this song because it is both a beautiful song and full of delicious imagery. It is also a song that speaks to me personally, because I crave to be loved so deeply, like Hozier shows is possible.

O - Over the hills and far away (Nightwish) I bought this album in a furniture store's music bin for a buck. This album is good, its so good! i love all the songs on this set list, but this one is probably my favorite.

G - Good Riddance (Darren Korb, and Ashley Barrett) I am an unashamed consumer of videogames, and thier soundtracks. I have not played Hades, however I might just for the soundtrack. As well as the pretty people..... I am who I am

G - Ghost (BadFlower) this song is about depression and suicide. Please listen carefully, however it is an excellent song, and it evokes emotion so well. this is an excellent example of something deep, but still being a phenomenal song.

Y - You give love a bad name (Bon Jovi) im sure we all know this song. its a classic for a reason, and the reason is that its damn good.

T - ThichThich (Phuong Ly) this song is not in English, and as such i have no clue what the artist is saying. however, that doesn't make it any less of a banger, I could listen to this song for hours, just repeated.

I - I, Carrion (Icarian) (Hozier, Unreal Unearth) Another banger as expected. does this man know how to half ass things?

M - Mary on a cross (ghost) self explanatory, im a raised Christian sad boy. of course religious imagery does it for me. (i no longer practise, this is true. But i spent a while around others who did)

E - Endless Rain - Remaster (X Japan) I found these guys after Elon musty, changed the name of twitter, and they were able to call copyright on his ass. Hilarious, 10/10 music as well.

M - Medusa (Kaia Jette) this is a song off my darling friends playlist, i adore their music. however they are a bother. (if you see this Mal, i love you)

A - A world Alone. (Lorde) another one from a friend, this friend ive known since kindergarten. Mo's a lovely person, who makes questionable choices, but not with their music, thats for damn sure.

C - Call of the sea (Claudie Mackula) this is a beautiful song, i recommend it to anyone who particularly enjoys mermaids and the oceans.

H - Heartbeat (Enrique Iglesias, Nicole Scherzinger) I adore everything this man has ever put out. his music is incredible. my mother speaks spanish (semi-fluently) and so listens to a lot of spanish music. which means i grew up listening to it too lol, even though none of our family is spanish speaking (that im aware of)

I - Iron man - 2012 - remaster (black sabbath, another banger, but whos suprised its classic rock. also this song fucks, like...omg

N - NVM (Faith Marie) wow. just wow. the combination of a childrens song into something so sad, is just indescribable. listen to this, its good

E - El Prestamo (Maluma) actually not my favorite song of his, but it is off my favorite album so. i rented this album from the library and loved it, so i downloaded it on my spotify

N - Nobody (avenged sevenfold) this is a banger, however i listened to it the first when i had a migrane. ouch. good song to blast in a speaker to piss off those who live around you!

On a scale of “is occasionally forced to bathe” to “Instagram model with sponsors to hoe for” how involved is your OC’s Skincare routine?

Duke is super big on his hygiene. For one, he’s obviously from nobility so... he just grew up practicing good hygiene. However, after being cursed and developing a penchant for dying in horrific ways, he became much more obsessed with cleanliness. He’s always worried that he may smell bloody or otherwise slightly like death. So he takes extreme measures to try and keep that at bay. 

What are your OC’s food preferences (flavors/textures/spiciness/calories/ when and how they eat) and how did they get that way?

Duke has a pretty broad taste, and will try pretty much anything at least once. He does tend to be drawn to spicier foods, and heavily seasoned dishes as his tastebuds (through various ways) are not quite as robust as they used to be. So he tends to like strongly flavored dishes. He also tends to like meatier dishes as well- often with a good hunk of bread to mop up the juices. He grew up eating rich dishes thanks to his upbringing, and enjoyed sneaking into the kitchen to see how things were made. This made him popular as a Captain as he’d often find ways to spice up rations given during the War and often went out of his way to hunt for proper meat for his soldiers. Now as an immortal, he’s traveled all across Hydaelyn and enjoys trying new dishes from different cultures. Again as his tastebuds aren’t that great, he can tolerate most things. He’s definitely the type of guy who likes that one dish that the majority can’t stand. 

What’s something pointless/petty/unimportant that IRRATIONALLY ANNOYS THE HELL out of your OC?

I’ve never really thought about this because he’s such an easy-going person and isn’t phased by most things really. However, probably how Dracyn will tidy up his desk for him. Duke is, by habit now, just a generally messy person. He tends to just leave things scattered about on his desk, papers and such. So when Dracyn tidies things up, even tho Duke knows it should look nice and not a trainwreck, it annoys him because he then can’t find anything. it may be a mess, but it’s his mess and he knows where everything is god dammit.  What’s your OC’s response to being asked for money by a homeless person?

He will literally give said homeless person all the money he currently has on him, ask for the person’s name and then likely do his best to get them into housing and find a job. He does this often. On one hand he’s genuinely just that sort of person, but it also is another way for him to use the endless amounts of money he’s made being immortal. Better in the hands of those who need it more than him. Does your OC get lost easily? What do they do when they do get lost?

Nah. He’s got a good sense of direction. If he ever gets ‘lost’ it’s on purpose for adventure purposes. 

What would STOP your OC from Doing The Right Thing in a tense situation?

Duke is at his core, completely and one hundred percent a goody-two shoes. The only situation I can think of, of him hesitating is a completely hypothetical and would, at this point, only happen in an AU. And that would be if Dracyn ever completely snapped. It’s been a big thing between the two of them that Duke insists he could never kill or ‘put down’ Dracyn if Dracyn were to ever fall back into his old ways, despite Dracyn asking him too. Duke insists that he could always bring Dracyn back. So, again, were Dracyn ever to fall back onto his old ways, and Duke had to choose between killing Dracyn and saving people from Dracyn, it’d be a really be a stopping point of Duke not being able to make a very rational choice. He’d likely end up trying to simply hide Dracyn from the world rather than forcing himself to kill Dracyn. :\ But again, this would likely only happen in an AU because their relationship currently is very even and there’s not anything that comes to mind that Dracyn and I have planned that would ever trigger Dracyn to just totally lose it.

Realistically, could your OC (in their normal circumstances- i.e. at thier own house/battlecamp/spaceship etc.) keep a small child alive for a week if they had to?  A Dog?  A Houseplant? A rock with a  smiley face painted on? Yes. Duke was a father, and is currently once again taking it on again after marrying Dracyn, taking care of his step-children. Despite his heavy reservations on being a father again after the death of his children, Duke is quite good at taking care of others, and a good father. He also is fairly good with plants- he tends roses back home at Ishgard. If your OC had to take the S.A.T. tomorrow with one night to prep, how would they do?  both emotionally and academically. He’d likely do just fine. He’s a smart cookie, and emotionally, he wouldn’t really care if he did well or poorly. At least now in his life lol. Growing up he may have been more worried, but again- he was always pretty intelligent and studious. So even with only one night to cram, I think he’d be fine.   What would cause your OC to chose to do something petty/pointlessly cruel?

The only time Duke is ever pointlessly cruel is if someone’s pushed him to that point. I.E, when people threaten the people he loves. He’s normally pretty quick to kill an enemy, but you threaten someone he loves and he will get vicious and make sure it’s painful. He once shoved himself further onto a bandit’s blade and then jammed a hidden dagger into the man’s neck as painfully as he could. When Dracyn was kidnapped, Duke, despite getting injured, was one step away, had his stepdaughter not blasted the guy out of the ship, he would have grabbed the kidnapper and continued to stab the man repeatedly, over and over again. His cruelty is truly only shown when someone has wronged someone he either cares about or hurt innocents.  As for being petty, Duke can be very Ishgardian and can be incredibly petty and huffy if someone insults him lol. On a scale of “Complete and Justified nervous breakdown” to “Conquer The Entire Galaxy and become an Immortal God-Emperor”, how well would your OC handle being abducted by Aliens? He’d probably just sigh and be like “okay well this is at least something new and exciting after a thousand years.”  What song is 100% guaranteed to get your OC beyond turnt and will be sung loudly and embarrassingly, either in public or the shower? Uhhh, hard to say because of XIV’s setting? Ye old Ishgardian ballads? lmao idk! likely any song that gets performed at Lucky Sparrow, and likely a lot of the group numbers he helps out with likely get practiced loudly in the shower. What perfectly-normal-to-them-thing does your OC do that confuses/pisses off/terrifies thier neighbors? Showing up alive outside tending the gardens when the day before he showed up with various, mortal injuries that surely would have killed any other normal person. “But- you- you had a sword- sticking out your head! I saw it! In one side out the other!” “Yes well. I got better. Do you think these roses are looking a bit down? Maybe I should add some blood to the soil...”  Under what circumstances would your OC appear naked in public? When he was younger, his second in command, and lover, Etienne convinced him to run naked through the Foundation while they were back in Ishgard on leave. The entire squad was drunk and only wore their dragoon helmets. So, basically he needs to be drunk and the person asking him to do it, needs to be the man he’s madly in love with lmao.  What thing did your OC’s parents do that your OC wishes they had a better explanation for? Duke actually, genuinely holds no ill-will towards his parents. And it’s not even a matter of the fact that they’re dead and long dead at that, so his grievances have been to put to bed. He just genuinely loved his parents, and they genuinely loved him back as well. They did their best for their son, and their only real ‘fuck-up’ was the arranged marriage to Antoinette, but Duke realizes that they were tricked into believing she was sane. Other than that, he knows they loved him very much and when he asked for help, even when he asked for help to keep his children, Minette and Alitte safe- (a huge risk at the time) they always came through. How often does your OC “zone out” or do things on autopilot and how severe have the problems that have arisen from that been? Usually pretty often. Being immortal and living for so long, sometimes mundane things just sort of... start to all bleed together. He’s definitely accidentally cut himself in various ways while cooking because he’s not paying attention, and he doesn’t quite feel pain as easily as others. How strong or weak is your OC’s Impulse control? What’s the worst thing that happened becuase of thier Impulsivity or inability to be so? It’s pretty weak. It’s gotten better now that he’s remarried, and he knows Dracyn would be upset if something happened to him despite being immortal. But before he met Dracyn, he was incredibly impulsive and would often times throw himself into situations that would end up with him dead and or seriously maimed. What’s the trashiest item in your OC’s wardrobe, when was the last time they wore it and why do they still have it? Duke has many trashy items in his wardrobe as he is A. immortal and thus has to change his style in accordance with the times and B. He does not get rid of anything.  As such, he has some incredibly questionable fashion choices in his closet, and insists on keeping them in case they one day come back in fashion. How Dehydrated is your OC right now? Are they going to fix this? Duke is always teetering usually on the edge of dehydration. He’s gotten better about accidentally starving himself, mainly because he has his family he eats with every day, and thus, he eats with them even though he can go a bit longer without eating. Staying hydrated however, he can be a bit forgetful. As he’s immortal, and can’t die from it really, he’s gotten used to going without for longer periods of time, and sometimes just doesn’t recognize the signs. Thankfully he has a husband that typically reminds him if he’s looking a bit peak. It’s not intentional, it’s just one of those weird things he just forgets after being immortal for so long.  What’s your OC smell like?  no, not that “Vanilla and Anxiety” evocative stuff, realistically.  Body odor? what have they been touching all day? When was thier last shower? Did they put on any kind of artificial scent? I’ve always headcanoned Duke’s smells very specifically- and spoke about it under the hygiene question. Duke typically always has an underlying odd smell, often times like blood, occasionally a bit more... dead. This stems A. from his curse and B. the fact he tries(ed) to kill himself so often. He’s very self conscience about it, as he knows he may not be able to smell it himself as he’s kind of used too it. So he’s pretty obsessive about washing up. He typically smells of leather due to what he wears, and often like chocolate and cinnamon from his baking. He also probably has a fancy cologne he wears, probably a floral/rose scent.  This is also the reason he’s typically a bit iffy around animals, as animals can typically detect the underlying smell on him and ofc are like “the fuck is this unnatural dead dude.” Miqo’te might be a bit more sensitive around him too, but again- he takes GREAT pains to mask it.  ---------

*Just so you know, I wrote hella lot on question 30, because I just can’t find the right thing to say. here is so much that I feel is decet about me, but I just can’t put anything to words. I can draw kinda okay? I can write like a motherfucker, but that doesn’t mean I write frequently, or as if anything of it is poetic, but I can vomit words like a chatty extrovert. My mind is big, that’s a thing I’ve had a lot of compliments about, and that I don’t carw about norms. I don’t care hwat people think how I should be in society, so I dress and act however I want. Not because I don’t care, I just don’t understand

Day 88 (Monday June 8)

i woke up from a crazy dream where my siblings ad i were traveling by car in some magic world and i was katara. i dont remember much, but i tried to press an entire treebranch like you would flowers between the pages of a book while the city law enforcement was chasing after us. at one point we walked in on a presentation and when they told me to get off stage i asked if ic ould please speak for a moment. they told me no, so i asked pretty please. i think that was a re-occurring part of the dream. 

i dont really rmember the specific order of what i did today, but here we go. i  spent some time outside today with my cat and ate a sandwich, but it was so unbearably sunny that we went inside. i later came back outside in the evening at like 8 pm when it was cooler and shadier and i brought a spray botttle with a little fan on the top. i sat on a towel in the grass and kept an eye on my cat and watched tiktoks until my phone died, so i switched to playing with the grass and making grass chains that kept falling apart. i spent so much time outside that my mom got mad at me for not responding to her calling for my help inside. at some point i could hear the neighbor kids playing hide and seek in their backyard. im always afraid that they think i’m spying on them, since i face their house because thats the side of the yard my cat likes to hang out in. thankfully theres a big minibarn in the way, so if im sitting in the grass i cant see any of their backyard. 

i was hungry and wanted potato slices, and then i remembered that we owned an apple peeler/slicer/corer combo thing and i thought it would be cool to try using that instead of cutting the slices by hand. the peeler part had too strong a spring, so it dug into the potato so i just moved it back lol. it worked really well other than that. i sliced it, put it in a pan with some oil, and then tried cutting up an apple with the thing, but the spikes that hold it in place just bore a hole into the center instead of pushing it into the blade, so i just cut it buy hand perpendicular to how you normally cut apples. i thought it would be a fun idea to try and bake one of the slices, so i put it in a pan with a little pad of butter longside the potato in the oven, flipping both ever so often while watching youtube in the kithen. i added a little brown sugar to the apple slice. the potatoe turned out good, its hard to mess up lol. but the apple tasted like ass. the butter i used was salted, and the apple was sweet instead of tart, so i just threw it away. im glad i only used one of the slices instead of like 3 like i had origionally planned. i think if i used unsalted butter and a granny smith it would turn out ok, but i dont think im going to try it again lol.

i took a couple driving practice tests in the morning, but i got frustrated that i didnt know stuff and gave up. i promised myself that i would try again later today, but i kept procrastinating whoops. its 2 am but i might give it a shot. i have to practice a lot tomorrow, because if i dont pass i probably wont get to take it again for like a month because all the bmvs are so busy and only taking appointments. 

i was scrollling through tiktok and found an audio i thought was funny and would fit one of my ocs so i did a really rough sketch animatic that i’ll eventually clean up. i would add it to the post but im on my laptop right now because my phone died and my sister borrowed my charger :/ i’ll add it in the morning if i remember. yall are going to make fun of my for having a teeth kink or something tho because thats the only part of the sketches i put any effort into (pensive face emoji  😔) (idk if that worked i just copid and pasted it lmao) 

i dont acually know much about my friend’s oc (Osimiri/Osi) that i’m shipping with my oc (Valka) other than she’s kinda grumpy so i scrolled back through our texts to see if she gave me a ref or any character description and i found a bunch of her cute art of GillFauns (thats thier ship name because Osi is a siren (gill) and valka is a goatfolk/tirfling so she has hooves (faun (even tho she’sa goat not a deer shhh))) and now im re-obsessed with them omg <3 and i also realized that i have no idea if i’m drawing her correctly/ how my friend intended her to be interprited. our art styles are SO different, and with hers i have to just guesstimate what she means with her character designs. (tbh she’s not that good at art but i still love her drawings because she’s so passionate about it and i love some of her ocs) but because of a combo of her art not being that detailed and me just drawing from memebery and not knowing the character that well, i have no idea if i’m taking too many liberties and stealing the character away from her. although on the other hand she doesnt really actively use that oc. she was meant to be a dnd oc, but idk if she ever actually went to ANY of the meetings. if she did, it was before marching band ended and i was able to join dnd club. 

anyway sorry this post is so long, i fing it easier to ramble and get my thoughts down when im on a keyboard than on my phone typng is much faster and a lot of fun so i always type more lol. but uhhhh its 2 am and i want to take a driver’s test or two before i go to bed, and get to sleep at a decent-ish time.
