Hmmm... very interesting to me that Taylor Swift is trending rn and yet for some reason no one in that tag is complaining that her trending is taking away from what's going on in Palestine and what's happening in Rafah. And yet for some reason, people couldn't seem to shut up in the Kendrick Lamar tag when he was trending about how the whole beef was just two celebrities beef (it's much deeper than that) and were making up theories abt how the whole thing was taking attention away from Palestine and everyone talking about it should feel ashamed of themselves (every single account I saw in that tag was posting about Palestine too).

And the thing that's really getting me is that Taylor is trending bc of a change to the Eras tour. An objectively unimportant change to make, especially when compared to what's going on in Rafah. But that's not what gets hate, no, it's the predator getting called out in an industry known for exploitation by one of the biggest artists in said industry. The racism isn't even implicit atp...

Edit: ok so just to clarify no this wasn't meant to insinuate that Taylor trending was some setup of Israel (that's just... like objectively wrong lmao), it was to point out that when it comes to a black artist in hip hop (a predominantly non-white genre) people wouldn't let fans of said genre just enjoy the music and shenanigans happening in that genre and that's it's hypocritical to act like people can't care abt two things at once, but they can enjoy their white "feminist icon" pop star (a much whiter genre) without anyone bringing hate into that tag. like i put in the tags, the anti taylor tag is for filtering bc i honestly don't see this post as particularly negative for taylor swift, it's a critique of the fans. and i'm calling out swifties particularly bc the ones who were saying that the beef was manufactured to take eyes off of rafah were swifties, and the ones being racist in the kendrick tag were swifties. i'm not exaggerating like almost every hate post i saw mentioning the beef being manufactured was a swiftie account. it is weird to act like people caring about very serious allegations happening in a genre of music isn't reason enough to make a big deal of the situation and go INTO THE TAG and complain, but it is especially hypocritical and frankly quite infuriating to see the same people who complained about a big deal of a situation being a "distraction" from gaza and then blog abt taylor swift . it's fine if u want to blog abt music u like, honestly idc abt that, if that's all u do then this legit isn't targeted at u, this is targeted at the swifties who came into the kendrick tag to complain and then went back to talking abt swift two seconds later like they weren't doing the same thing they were complaining abt two minutes before. But for real actually I've been a fan of Pastra for quite a long time! Both for his video essats and his horror series! I absolutely adore his artstyle and designs and his analog horror does so much new, different, and creative stuff with the genre that it immediately stood out to me, so I was an instant fan! Took me a while tho to make soms proper fanart, unfortunately, maybe i doodled here and there but i didn't have the motivation just yet to do a full piece...

Then Volume 1 came out and ohohoho i got my motivation >:]

Well that and soon after Vol. 1 came out I noticed this cool little AU going around on Tumblr where Clyde and Alex kinda team up, and I absolutely adore that kind of dynamic, so that got my motivation up even more! So much so that I even got some extra doodles out while working on the piece, some of em alluding to the Sitcom!DOAI AU, so ey that's something! I think- :'D

But anyhoo, my drawing inspiration is unfortunately well spent, so I'll cya guys wheneverI next get motivation! ...which'll probably be in a few months hhhhh-

Episode 13-16 speculation after the cut.

Hongjo sees flashbacks of herself as Aengcho trapped in a well with spells securing her prison. It's nighttime and Mujin has come to her aid. Did Na Jungbeom's (Creepy Gardener's) past self trap her in there after attacking her? He practices black magic/the darker side of shamanism, so he would have the skill and probably the motive (to stop his love interest (?) from escaping). Has he cursed Aengcho with something?

Aengcho exits a cabin wearing the same outfit with the same wounds on her face, presumably the next morning. She looks devastated/in pain. Is Mujin in the cabin? Did Aengcho run away from Mujin? Or did they agree to meet later? Is she holding something (other than her injuries)?

Eunwol: "You already know. Before your life ends, nothing ends." Either her own curse or a spell she has cast will not end before she dies.

Mujin follows with a look of resolve and a new wound on his face that wasn't there in the well scene. He looks like he's been crying for some time, or like he's stayed up all night.

Mujin catches up to Aengcho. We know he kills her soon after and "the karma" from this murder will curse his family line.

Things we know about Aengcho:

Aengcho was a reincarnation without a name until Mujin named her after the flower, primrose.

Presumably Aengcho has been reborn at least once before, as has Eunwol.

Aengcho could see the future of others, but not her own.

She was carried to an elderly shaman woman's house as a child, the shaman possibly being present day Eunwol. Perhaps Aengcho's parents were killed by the same illness that made her sick?

Aengcho was a lower level shaman who developed a "new skill" in adulthood. Hong Jo in present day has been using spells from Aengcho's spell book successfully (love spell, fair skin spell, disease curing spell, others?), so she retains her shaman skills.

Things we know about Mujin:

Mujin was their town's governor's son, so from a wealthy upper class family.

He may have taken the state exam to become a (legal?) scholar out of his father's wish/command, although he talked about joining the military and was told (or lied to) by Aengcho that he would "work his way up" there. Mujin took the military service exam and served the king according to Shin Yu. (ep 7).

Was Mujin betrothed to someone else in the past, like present day Shin Yu was?

Mujin was either the person to bury Aengcho's spell books underneath the shrine at Mount Onju, or Aengcho told him where they were buried. After killing Aengcho he requested in a note or a will that his family preserve the shrine for generations (so that Hong Jo could find the spell books in the future).

Mujin asked Aengcho to run away with him at the fireworks bridge, so that they could be together.

One other person was supposed to remember the past along with Eunwol, Shin Yu and Hong Jo. Presumably that's Na Jungbeom, the modern day gardener. Na Jungbeom left a love destruction spell (the doll) by the Mount Onju shrine in present day. He was seeking to destroy his love for Hong Jo (her stolen pyjamas) and to curse Shin Yu for dating her. In an earlier episode he claims to have drunk Hong Jo's love spell water, so he might be under Hong Jo's spell. He cursed Shin Yu again with the help of Nayeon who delivered a plant with a spell into Shin Yu's office. After that Shin Yu could feel Aengcho's hand again and Shin Yu collapsed in the elevator.

Eunwol mentioned in episode 8 that there was an honest and strong man by Hong Jo's side who was a reincarnation of a eunuch. Past life Hong Jo had tried falling in love with the eunuch after she couldn't be together with the king (again, class differences). The eunuch could be a reference to Jaekyung, who doesn't seem to remember his past lifes.

Will the two shamans face off in a future episode? What was Aengcho's new skill? Possession?

What's clear is that everything up until now has been kismet, including Hong Jo's transferral to the park department allowing her to meet Shin Yu, and Shin Yu favoring his left hand due to his curse leading him to drinking Hong Jo's love potion. It's been unavoidable. They cannot go against their destiny together.

thinking about what would have happened if in the alpha timeline the time stuff lined up right so that dave and rose were able to raise dirk and roxy like in the beta timeline. so, some headcanons!

i think dave would be a bit like beta roxy, in that he would definitely be loving and care about dirk, but due to both having unresolved personal issues and being very young might not be the best parent. he would probably still do the whole ninja training thing, but i think he'd be way more laid back about it, not springing it on dirk without warning and also being more of the 'teaching and showing' philosophy than the 'beating the shit out of you as a learning experience' one. (i also think he would good-naturedly beat the daylights out of any murder robots dirk sent his way.) i think he would still be somewhat emotionally distant, not in the sense that he would scorn vulnerability in others or anything but that he wouldn't really let down the coolguy facade in front of dirk.

i think dirk would still look up to him, although maybe with more resentment towards his success. he would complain about him to the others a lot more than dave did, and be more insistent that he didn't think his movies were any good. where in the beta timeline the strilondes had strifing and passive-aggressiveness respectively, i think the strider's rivalry thing in this timeline would be trying to one-up each other, mostly in regards to ironic bits. i think dirk would be more passionate about winning than dave, but dave would go along with it and put in effort because it's one of the only bonding activities they regularly go through with. i do think the bits would get a bit mean sometimes, though, driving further emotional distance between the two of them.

i think rose and roxy's relationship would be very similar to the way it was in the beta timeline, although with a few major changes. you would definitely still have the setup of the daughter (in this case roxy) assuming her mother's (rose's) genuine shows of affection were mocking, but those displays of affection would look different. i think the main thing would be rose being concerned over roxy's alcoholism, but also getting a bit pushy about psychoanalyzing it to the point where roxy closes off from her, being extra stubborn about not stopping to spite her. rose would get more insistent on her side too, leaving long and rather scathing letters stored with the alcohol and whatnot. i think rose would consider cutting her off entirely by removing all the alcohol in the house, but would at the end of the day believe that forcing roxy to improve herself wouldn't be sustainable, and that it would be best for her to come to that conclusion herself.

in regards to rose's writing, i think roxy would still be a big fan of it, writing fanfiction and all that, although a lot more reluctantly. she would insist to the other three that it was a 'separating the art from the artist' thing, but would secretly hope that she could understand her mother better while still avoiding her by reading her books instead of talking to her. i think that later on she would end up having a similar realization to the one that rose had, where she would finally understand that even if rose wasn't the best at expressing her concern, she did genuinely care about roxy and want the best for her.

Something that confuses me a little is the idea that because Ted and Rebecca don't get together before he goes back to Kansas, their connection doesn't amount to anything or have an explainable meaning

(I don't need a bunch of notes explaining it to me, it's just not something that makes sense to me 😬)

Because...when you interact with someone you're that connected to, it feels extremely good

It feels good whether or not you're fucking, it feels good whether or not you've been able to articulate what it means yet, it feels good even if the status of your relationship to that person changes over time

And you can tell from Ted and Rebecca's interactions that they feel extremely good when they are in the same place. When you're that connected to someone you can tell that you are! And it feels fucking incredible, and experiencing those sensations is valuable and life-improving

Their ending (their 3x12 ending, which is neither the end of their lives nor the end of their relationship) isn't meaningless; it's sad
