12. Was there a scene you wished you could have included? Why didn't it fit in?

mmmmmmmmm this one's tricky. i wouldn't say there were any scenes that i wished hadn't ended up on the cutting room floor in the end (as the wordcount will attest, pffffft), but there are definitely some that i had sort of imagined going differently when first planning/setting about writing, and that ended up significantly different when all was said and done.

the two that come most readily to mind are: (1) the whole reason i had sam's dad scott be an er nurse was because i fully intended on him being the one letting her know about josh's hospitalization, and then there being a very, very awkward confrontation with chris about it later; and (2) the fight in ch17 was actually going to be, uhhhhhh worse, hahahaha. in the end, i decided i wasn't really feeling the direction of those decisions, and so ended up changing them. i for sure wouldn't say i regret that, though, or that i wish i'd stuck with my original plan, but i do think they could've changed the overall vibe of the story significantly.

EDIT: I AM A FOOL! THERE WAS A SCENE I WISH I COULD'VE INCLUDED, AND THAT WAS SAM AND ASHLEY GOING FULL PARENT TRAP ON THEIR PARENTS TO GET THEM TO DATE SDKLFJLKSJDFKLJSDF hahahaha, not exactly an important part of the story, nor a necessary one, but........i had plans for scott giddings and jamie brown, oh yes i did. oh yes i did. hehe.

24. Did you write every scene in order? What was the first scene you wrote, and what was the last?

god no, oh jesus, oh no. nonononono. i am like, pathologically incapable of writing things in order. i WISH i had that sort of discipline, my gosh. hilariously, the first scene i wrote was...well, okay, yeah, the first scene of the fic!!! hannah and sam having a little chat before The Big Party, but after that, all bets were off, babyyyyyyyyy. i jumped around.....everywhere, and the one thing i remember most about writing t(a) is that i was, at ALL times, actively working on 3 chapters. nightmarish. don't recommend it. absolutely the only way i found i could get my brain to work XD the last scene i wrote.....man, was josh and hill in that last session. everything after that had already been written, it was all set in stone, but that last session, man...that one took me.......a long time to write, hahaha.

25. Is there anything you would change now about this fic? Why or why not?

so, here's the thing. i feel like it's really easy to look back on an artistic endeavor and pick out all the stuff you don't dig about the final result. i have, in all honesty, not gone back and FULLY reread t(a) start-to-finish since finishing it BECAUSE of that. i am positive that if i really sat down and looked at it with a magnifying glass, yeah, there are some things i'd change - pieces i'd get rid of, segments i'd rework, commas i would delete by the dozens.................

but at the end of the day, t(a) is, was, and always will be my baby, something that not only served as my first step into the ud fandom, but something that introduced me to so many AMAZING people - writers and artists and readers and editors and gifmakers and not-so-silent lurkers all - and so looking at it and thinking about the things i'd change doesn't really occur to me. it is what it is, and i'm very happy to leave it as is :) <3

that being said, i would've loved to format some of the...stuff in the ending where they (starve) in a more house of leaves sort of way, but ao3 proved pretty tricky for that, alas!

first of all, hotchner family hiking days 🥰🥰🥰 it's for weekends when aaron is home, the weather is way too nice to stay inside AND it's the perfect way for the kids to get alllllll their energy out, fall asleep very soundly early so you and aaron can have your own private time with no interruptions later 🤭 hehe i've mentioned twin girls before and it's sooo fitting for this too 😭 the lil girls sharing both of you and aaron's features <333 they have his dark hair, and for the excursion they either have their hair pulled up in a ponytail, a braid, or being held back by a hat 😭😭 just chattering on and on and on for the entirety of the walk, asking aaron soooo many questions or bringing up topics at random - there's literally not a moment of silence with those two <3333333 they're so little but they have sooo much to say.

the twins are walking behind aaron who's leading the way - who's also holding onto the backpack with snacks, first aid, rain ponchos, extra shoes, water bottles and the newest baby hotchner strapped to him too <33333 he's reminding the littles to stay close, not go off the path, and to not 🫵🏻 touch any leaves of three, not wanting to deal with a bout of poison ivy 😭 jack's also in the middle - helping out his baby sisters, lifting them over fallen trees in the middle of the path, walking the family dog (that you all managed to convince aaron to get - you all took a family trip 'just to look' one day and yet came home with a new family member 🥹😭) <333 again, the girls are talking aaron's ear off nonstop behind him and then you're in the back making sure no one gets left behind or you're quick to help if one of them falls or trips on a stick or rock.

but aaron mentioning he's tired 😭😭😭 - he's also wearing a hat 🥰🥰🥰 and those Very Dad type of sunglasses 😭 and then the girls are immediately blasting him: "you can't be tired" "well, mommy-" "she does it all the time-" "she even does it when-" etc etc etc. and you can't help but laugh because they're your girls 🥹🥰🥰🥰 they're glued to your side on the daily (when aaron isn't around 🙄✋🏻🥰💓) so of course they would defend you and tease their daddy at any opportunity- they've seen you do it countless times hehe <3333

and aaron, not even bothering to look behind him and continuing to trek forward, and nearly out of breath because you're all going up an incline, he simply deadpans, "i'm not your mother, i'm a whiny baby" (as if he's not out catching serial killers on the daily LOL) 😭 and AMOUNT of giggles that leave the girls 😭😭😭💓💕💓🩷 even jack has to laugh at that one 😭😭😭 they start teasing him even more and again he praises you for all you do for your family, calling you super mommy and says, "so you all better appreciate your mother for all she does for you🫵🏻🤨🥰" 💓💓💓 and the girls immediately chirp they do and stop walking, for you to catch up so they can give you a hug or insists on holding your hand <333

and LOL you manage to get to aaron's side at one point and you have to tease him too so you're all like ;) "did you just say all those things for your benefit later" and hehe he just laughs and is like "hm maybe" 🤭 BUT he's just teasing and genuinely appreciates you and everything you do and he's so so happy and grateful to be raising a family with you 🥹 <333333

There are a looot of characters, and I definitely worry sometimes that it gets to be too much, but I think the IF is getting long enough for me to give enough-ish screentime to each character... though it takes me a while to cycle back to different side characters. 5. Yup, being a character driven IF, there will be a lot of romance (or friendship) beats / moments in the IF (which is already true now). The next couple of chapters will follow the same mix of sports, school and romance / hanging out, so you should already have a sense of how much romance there'll be (it'll just keep unfolding / developing for each of the RO routes!)

OMG what a blessing this ask is... i tend to overthink when i'm writing feitan's dialogue. i know it's more choppy in the dialogue and fluid in the anime (at least the 2011 adaptation, the one i'm most familiar with), so i try to strike a happen medium 😭😭 i cannot tell you how many times i write a line for him, Stare at it, then readjust. rinse and repeat.

honestly... in terms of cruel/sadistic dialogue, feitan takes the cake in this fic. he really woke up that day and chose violence.

When he first saw you helping him fight he was stunned to say the least. I mean aren’t angels and devils opposites? Aren’t they supposed to hate each other?

It’s obviously not the first time he’s worked with an angel before though. We all remember what happened that one time in london….

But moving on from that incident, he was taken a back when he saw you helping. He was beating up a familiar red headed grim reaper for her being, well, her. When you popped out of no where and helped him.

Watching you scold her for not doing her job again and thirsting over some demon was amusing to him.

Long story short, he ended up having a full conversation with you while you had a grip on the reaper’s hair to make sure she wouldn’t run off and cause trouble again and add extra work for her partners. No body likes overtime!

You both sadly had to part eventually as you both had your own duties to tend to, but not without promising each other that you would talk again soon.

Promises are kept of course and you both ended up hanging out quite a lot. Sebastian would sneak out to hang out with you if he had some spare time.

Picnics, theater performances, and sometimes even walks at night once Ciel was asleep. These where all things you two would do regularly. But none of these where dates…. Right?

Quick Scenario

As night quickly fell you waited out in the garden in front of the Phantomhive manor. Hues of oranges, reds, and yellows cascaded over the perfect roses in the garden as the sun began to set over the horizon. Not one of them had a ripped or missing petal. You couldn’t help but sit there and stare in awe at their beauty as the bold light of the setting sun began to exchange for the soft light of the moon and the stars that slowly scattered the sky. It was an absolutely stunning sight, which is part of the reason you came so often.

“[Y/N]? Come to walk with me again?” A voice asked. The soft ring of slight laughter came along with the question. After hearing this you shot up and spun around to face the man.

“Yes! As long as you aren’t busy of course.” You smiled at the man. Knowing him, most of the time when he smiled you could tell it was never genuine, but there was something different about the way he smiled this time. Maybe there was some truth behind it for once.

“Well, I’m ready whenever you are” Sebastian extended his gloved hand for you to take. Slipping your hand into his, you started to walk down the path silently. Staring up at the star scattered sky, you breathed out a heavy sigh. While it may not exactly be “normal” for you two to be together, it was most certainly nice.

4. you’re so incredibly welcoming in this fandom even when a lot of people aren’t

i could go on forever. what people say about you is never a reflection of you. it’s always a reflection of who they are and what they see in themselves. they’re almost always insecure and jealous. please know that you shouldn’t feel guilty for wanting to know how people perceive your fics, for wanting to know what people like and what they don’t like about them, for wanting constructive criticism. all writers want that. those anons saying you’re asking too much and being too needy are out of their minds. and they’re dead wrong.

it’s so hard and incredibly scary to publish fics that you write — that alone is intimidating as hell. you’re going out of your way to put your art out here on the internet for us to read and enjoy. stories that you’re already scared isn’t enough for us. absolutely that calls for feedback, especially if you’re asking for it!

you write whatever you want to and we will always be here in the comments and your dms talking about it. and you know what? if other people read it and don’t like it, they can MOVE ON and keep scrolling. it costs $0 to be nice and just ignore things you don’t like. taking multiple minutes out of your day to send someone a long message (longer than any feedback on fanfic would take) just to tell them what they’re asking for isn’t valid and making them feel like shit for wanting support is not okay and will not be tolerated.

but expanding on what u said, jaes characterization in electric bugaloo is definitely one of the best ive seen (esp for a free fic on tumblr) !! there is so much depth to his character, from the way he thinks and the innate care he still has for his sister, but at the same time hes unwilling to let go of his evil (what he deems “good”) deeds but at the end u can truly see that hes not heartless and is truly just a human but yet !! it makes u wonder how hes used that + the charmspeak to manipulate others and use their sympathy. so yes like u said, a villian is much more dangerous when u start to sympathize with them 😭 tldr; jaehyun evil but also not really but like very evil actually

also yes renjun is such a tsundere even to his members 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫 but i loved how u charaterized him to consistently think “im in love w yn im in love w yn omg hug kiss mwah yn” and then be completely stoic on the outside. i was a bit frustrated at first bc i was like “just kiss her !!” but ykw thats just him and ill have to deal with it 🤞😔 #touchygfproblems

ahhhh i’m so sorry for this late response, my love!! i’ve been doing great 🤩🤩🤩 my birthday was on the 26th so my friends and i went to an anime convention and just had a fun girls trip for the weekend 🥰 i’ve also downloaded the sims 4 bc it was on sale for $5 and now all i’m doing is downloading mods and playing dress up DJSJJS 🤧 how have you been, lovely?

omg pls thank you so much i’m so honored that you think so highly of my characterization of jaehyun you are too nice 🥺 i really did try to cram in as many layers as possible in the fic like a smushed onion or something 😭 bc i didn’t really give him any development in jeno’s fic which i regret </3 but you’re so right!! my goal was to humanize him bc i think it’s much scarier for the characters and the audience when the villain seemingly still has sound of mind y’know? and i wanted to people to think about what they would do if they were put in y/n’s position (obviously bc y/n is a self-insert but you know what i mean HDJSJS 😭) ! it’s also been super fun to see everyone’s reactions bc a lot of people feel sorry for jaehyun and even forgive him despite what he did, in fact, the scenes with jaehyun are actually the most talked about (from what i’ve seen in reblogs and asks) even more so than the romance 😳 it makes me really proud that so many people empathize with him bc that means i did my job properly :’))))
