i have SO many feelings about freya for a character who had maybe twenty total minutes of screentime. like. her life was so tragic you’d be forgiven for thinking she’d been subsumed by the trauma, but little pieces of a fully lived life and personality peaked through—she had such a poetic grasp of language as she described her home to merlin. she liked strawberries. the way she lightly teased merlin for conjuring a rose instead of a strawberry, only to be touched because she likes pretty things but has so little occasion for them, doesn’t feel she deserves them. the unapologetic way she (understandably!!!! who wouldn’t in her situation!) wolfs down her food. “it’s good.” her insistence that merlin be careful, being willing to leave without him because she didn’t want him to give up what he had. literally beloved.

but i just want to say that i am never going to forget how you have been fighting alongside me from the very start. i don't think i ever really told you, but seeing your initial propaganda list was the reason i decided to take the leap and start my campaign journey in the first place. and knowing that you were fighting with me all this time was really how i kept finding the strength to keep going.

you are always going to be my fellow comrade in arms. my fellow general in this campaign. i feel like we have a warrior's unbreakable bond. like anything you need any time, i would both kill and die for you without hesitation -

Thank you… oh this is a very sweet message. And honestly, it’s a bit silly but it did feel like a weight off my shoulders to see all the hard work you were doing- at first I was going VERY hard on the propaganda because I was trying to get the ball rolling- it felt like my job to try and get everyone involved- so seeing you take SUCH a huge role and kinda take the reigns was really nice- it not only motivated me to fight too, but also let me take breaks when I needed to lmao.

Eternal comrades, I swear. I’m glad I got to become muts with you through this !! You say the word too- I got your damn back. After such hearty combat though, I think we both should sit back a bit haha. (Tho ik you’re still on that GRIND. GOOD LUCK AGAIN!!!)

Rent control is on the ballot for California voters this November.

I uh, get that tumblr isn't exactly sorted by geography, but this is a huge deal.

It's a huge deal even for people who don't expect to be personally affected by it -- rent control is a protection against the poorest people living in a city being forced out, and that's just bad for everyone. When you have a city where only medium well off to rich people live, you get their service employees coming in from a suburb an hour and a half away (blech) or else you get people stacked three to a room. Or people holding down a job or three while trying to earn enough to get off the street or, well, out of their parents' place or away from the abusive partner they can't afford to break up with. Point is, a lack of housing that people can just keep living in at the same price, means a lot of bad things for society, and we probably aren't going to socialize housing within the next ten years but maybe we can get rent control back.
