God DAMN. The second cour of Blood War started today and I decided to jump on the weekly broadcast even though the dub isn't out yet because well. I watch the dub for one actor, basically, and I figured Ichigo's human friends were probably not gonna show up much in this arc. WELL GUESS WHO'S HERE.

the process

a lot of people like to ask me about my process and how ai can be "creative" because they're under the impression that it's just kind of a big slot machine. you pull a lever and art uncontrollably comes out. well, let me show you my process

this is going to be a long thread tagged with #long post, blacklist that if you want to skip it.

so how it starts like most art is that i have an idea. in this case, earlier i made a post about witch-knights "surfing" on swords, so i'm going to try and make that - a witch-knight flying through the air atop one of her swords.

it starts with this picture.

i think this picture is dogshit so i discard basically all of it to try and find something closer to my original intent. there's a couple of uninteresting regenerations so it's clear i have to go back to the drawing board and teach the machine what it is i'm trying to do

let's start with a witch-knight on a broom. it's definitely not great but it gives us a better pose that i can work with.

i start by erasing the broom and replacing it with a skateboard - the machine understands skating better for what i need it to do.

there's a ton of small, subtle errors in this image and it overall looks like dogshit but the most important part right now is blocking and the overall pose structure - i need her "surfing" a large, lengthwise object, in the sky. i start by erasing pieces of the skateboard

now we have a sword, which is good. but the sword itself looks... bad. i'll spare you the abortive attempts at selective regeneration of the sword and just show you what happened when i rolled it back a couple of times from this pose and let it regen entirely.

again, tons of small little shitty errors, but this is something i can work with. i do another regen for a less shitty sword. her boob armor gets replaced with, like, generic scale mail.

this image has a great sword and decent pose but like... everything else is kind of futzy and i dont like it. instead of trying to pick and choose i just throw it back into the oven for a second. much better! but now she's going to cut herself on the sword, oh no!

again, i'll save you the agonizing thirty minutes of trying to get it to understand where the foot should go. unlike before i didn't really have a choice except to muscle through. there! now she's surfing safely :)

so it's done, right? well, i mean, i could post this. and it would probably do okay. but *i'm* not satisfied with it. there's stiffness. dozens of minor errors. the eyes look weird when you zoom in. let's start by fixing her hat, and then maybe her hands?

but she's missing fingers on her left hand so let's go ahead and fix that too. and i don't really like the tip of her sword and the ocean looks really flat and boring. so, VERY CAREFULLY, i have to etch out the parts of the sword and her body i have to keep, and also write an entirely new prompt to tell it "i want an ocean w/ rolling waves please :)"

this is better but not great. i try again - serendipitously, it makes this really cool variant with a shadow over the water, but i know working with that will take more wrangling so i'm considering it an evolutionary dead end and discarding it for now.

i proceed to spend 30 minutes trying to make the ocean look better but it's really not working imo. i'm gonna go back to the shadow version and see how that works

i'll spare you the other 8 minutes - i'm satisfied with the following picture. the sword isn't *perfectly* straight, her eyes aren't perfectly textured, the scale mail is... weird, in texture, but anything else would be greasing the wheel and i think beyond the machine's ability to do fine detail.

i've also attached the starting picture for comparison - it has better, "higher quality" clouds and ocean but i personally cared more about the pose and the sword surfing - the background is mostly tangential. could i get back ocean and clouds of that quality with another two hours of painstakingly cutting and re-generating bits of the background without destroying any of my existing work on the pose? probably. but i don't want to.

total time spent on this piece from start to finish was one hour and twenty one minutes. and now you know!

Yeah, I figured out that would happen eventually when I started getting weird comments and anonymous asks about my noncon stuff lmao mini rant ahead.

Whatever happens happens ig, I have my stuff backed up but it's annoying and discouraging to see people deciding to comment hate on dub-con/non-con fics as if there isn't a warning for that type of content on the beginning of every single dark fic I make. I've had people tell me I'm normalizing sexual assault/rape as if I'm not a victim myself, and that's mainly why I've stayed away from writing dark fics until lately.

The community can be exhausting, giving people the chance to remain anonymous and say all the stupid shit they want to say without any consequences to it. Can't even count the number of things I've deleted from my inbox and never bothered answering because they're simply weird, hateful, and just make me tired as hell.

It's insane how impossible it seems to be for people to simply scroll away when you see warnings of topics you don't like or that trigger you. Truly, it's as simple as blocking an account or dismissing the post, there are tags you can blacklist as well, so why does it seem so difficult to use common sense?

Anyway, just woke up and I'm exhausted. I'm going to be taking a small break from Tumblr and writing while I work on some other stuff and try to get inspiration for my fics<3 I love you guys, I've always been immensely thankful for the support I've gotten. We're at 4438 followers now, should get to 4500 by tomorrow. I'll come back with hopefully more original ideas and more practice!<3

Because tumblr's search function kind of sucks! Even if I don't tag a post as such, it might still show up in the tags just from the mention in the post. I don't like to invade SFW spaces, so it's to cover my bases.

Maybe, maybe not! I'm into a lot of stuff. While there's no harm in asking, you'll probably have more luck if it's something I've talked about already. I don't mind stuff that goes into dead dove territory, you just won't find a lot of it here out of personal preference. I will not make any underage content. No exceptions.

The Murderbot Diaries Tumblr Community

There is a Murderbot Diaries Tumblr community now. As far as I've been able to tell, you join by having an admin add you to the invite list. I'm the admin. If you want to join, let me know and I'll add you.

I've sent invites to the authors of a couple pages of recent posts in the tag, and some of the authors of the posts that show up as 'Top' vs sorting the tag chronologically. Invites to date have been somewhat random - there's nothing personal if you haven't had one yet. Just let me know and you'll get one.

It does not allow me to add side blogs. I think once I invite a person, they get to choose which side blog they use to post/comment in the community. So you'll have to send me your main for me to send the invite, but after that you can interact using whichever side blog you want to use. (I think! I'm not an expert on this.) This also means if you post murderbot-tagged stuff from your side blog, I may well have tried to add you and been denied. A solid quarter of my attempts to invite people were rebuffed by the system.

Once the system allows co-admins, I intend to add some so this isn't a one-person show. I'll have more to say on this when I've figured out what a Tumblr community admin does other than issue invites. A lot of this is still in development by Tumblr, including the ability to have more than one admin.

Rules are as per Tumblr (obviously). I would ask that shipping/relationship/romantic-themed posts be tagged with the ship in question so people who blacklist those topics will have their blacklisting work.

Hi everyone! My name is Gus and I'll be running this ask/rp blog! I hope you guys are enjoying the Gravity Falls resurgence as much as I am!

This blog will be set around 3 years post-show, Mabel and Dipper are set to turn 16 this August 31st, and the year is 2015. Stan and Ford are visiting along with the twins to see Gravity Falls again and celebrate with old friends.

Various characters are available to ask and answer! The main cast will of course be Dipper, Mabel, Stan and Ford but also expect to see others like Soos & Melody, Pacifica, McGucket, Wendy, Grenda & Candy, and many more!

I'll do my best to answer all asks but some that are doubled up may be stepped over to avoid repeat questions and answers. There's also some rules I'd like people to keep in mind!

This is Blog is a LGBTQ and Neurodivergent friendly and run space! There will be headcanons to this effect and asks are allowed to highlight them! Please be respectful and understand this is not an actual, Canon blog. Opinions may differ and you are free to not engage if it's not your thing!

Be respectful in general really, swearing and pg13 and even more mature asks in line with new content like Book of Bill are allowed but try to keep it from being overly explicit, swearing and certain jokes are okay but bigotry, slur usage aren't allowed.

About following… I am going to be more selective this time around. My blog is mutuals only, although I am always open to new mutuals. I don't RP with direct portrayals of the Abrahamic God. While I myself am not religious, and am actually kind of anti-Christianity given how many times, and how deeply, I've been hurt by Christians. But. I believe in respecting people's faiths and needs. I don't need to share someone's faith to support them in it, and just because I've had bad experiences doesn't mean I believe they're all awful and don't deserve some consideration. A friend has requested people avoid putting RP posts with God or Jesus as a character (especially being shipped) onto their dash, and I think that's a completely fair request. Blacklisting and tag filtering doesn't always work, I get it.

When it comes to activity... I am very, very slow, but I generally don't lose interest in plots. Just because it has been a long time in between replies doesn't mean that I suddenly don't care anymore. I have a loooong attention span, even if I only have two brain cells. I respect Dead Dove Do Not Eat and will fight for people’s right to write it. 'Nasty', awful, twisted, broken, and villainous messes are always welcome on this blog <3 I will always do my best to tag with what applies, either NSFT (as in Not Safe for Tumblr) or DDDNE.  I don’t necessarily write a lot of DDDNE, but I am willing to, and I will not judge you if that’s something you enjoy. Don’t try to bully or guilt-trip me into writing smut, please. I can and will write it. I’ll write filthy, explicit smut (tagged and under a read-more). I’ll write soft vanilla stuff. I’ll write fade to black, whatever my RP partner prefers–I’ll do my best to match your vibe. But if you mock me for the fact that I prefer to let smut happen organically? I’m out. Additionally, I am ace. What interests me about smut is how it affects the characters or the stories. If all you want is just to write filth because it's hot... I'm probably not the writer for you just because we will never be on the same page/have the same vibes, and I've learned that just kind of wears me out.

I am not interested in writing with characters who feel like they stepped out of a videogame; ie, if they're designed to be the ultra superior baddest bestest ever at everything... they're not for me.

And on a last note... Personal ethics are actually important to me. I spent almost a year on this blog buying into the general RPC culture of "always look the other way, smile even if someone punches you down, never care too deeply, enable everyone to keep on getting off, whatever they need." But the thing is... that's not me. As I said in an answered ask: " It's easy to keep on partying and rolling with it all and having fun if you don't worry about who gets hurt along the way, if you expect the person you knocked down to play the game and pretend that nothing happened... But that's not a game I want to play--and the people who do want it like that aren't ones I want to be close with. I've never been one to party with anyone who places gratification above consideration. I don't want to start now."

I believe in standing up for yourself and your friends, but doing it in a mature way that doesn't involve witch-hunts or callouts. I believe in fighting back against censorship and fascism, and in (respectfully) pushing back against cruelty.

Hey everybody, I am thrilled to tell you that Starglass Zodiac is now launched! And on the project’s 9th anniversary too :D

I'll put more of my ramblings under the cut below, but here's the gist of what you need to know:

As I said above, I’m going at my own pace with this comic to ensure that I’m satisfied with every page at my current skill level. That will likely mean a slow pace for uploads, and I am sorry for that ^^’ But, I’ve had this as a passion project for a long time and I want to give it the time and attention it deserves.

I’ve also realized recently that I’ve been subconsciously holding myself to arbitrary rules about how and when I distribute my work when it comes to comics, especially with prior attempts to launch this one. Knowing I don’t actually have to do that has been quite freeing, and I’m excited to go at my own pace like I do with my other work. I do hope to increase the frequency of uploads later on of course, with the ultimate goal being multiple times a week, but trying to do that right away just isn’t feasible right now. Regardless, I am SUPER excited to finally be doing this again, no matter how long it takes!

With having this project for nearly a decade, working on it has gotten me through many, many tough times. My name is Kane, I am a Pokemon ranger from Galar. Usually I work in the Wild Area unless I am needed somewhere else, so that is where you will usually find me. I also foster Pokemon when I have the free time, I will likely be posting about this a lot, haha.

Apologies if my Galarian is not the best. This is not my first language, and I am still learning.

Alrighty, I've made the decision that I am gonna try remember to tag all my muses fandoms going forward. ( And I'll update existing posts with fandom tags eventually ) This probably wont be so much a thing for OOC posts because of the fact my brain is whack and I likely wont remember for OOC stuff but threads I can probs remember/manage. So yeah, if there is any muse or fandom you don't wanna see please feel free to blacklist it. Also, while I'm at it, you're always, always, always welcome to send me memes ! Even though we already exchanged dms, I'll answer this publicly. Maybe it also concerns others, if not, well... it's still a super sweet and considerate message and I'm very happy you've been so kind about it. First of all, I very much respect when ppl state their boundaries and I think this is a very important thing in any community. However, I very much struggle with anxiety when ppl voice conflicting opinions on ethic matters. This is a me problem, which is why I usually don't engage and maybe whenever something like this comes up, it would be wise for me to just shut off tumblr for a few days or weeks until it's over. Somehow, I just can't... maybe it's the adhd... so I end up causing myself a panic attack and because unfortunately I can not remove certain posts without unfollowing ppl, this time I snapped and I unfollowed a few accounts to minimize the damage. I now started refollowing ppl that I removed due to this, so just don't mind me. 😅

It's super super sweet of you that you first of all didn't mind, but also offered tagging discourses in a way that I could block them! Thank you so much for this!!! I already blacklisted a few word associated with these kind of discussions and I managed to clean my dash enough to feel comfortable again. Main Rules - They’re long but informative!

I am a highly selective blog. I will be very, very choosy on who I write with simply due to limited time and wanting to give my few partners better attention. I promise I’m not scary, just super busy. Anyone is welcome to approach me to ask if I would like to write with them but my intake is extremely small so if I haven't followed you back the chances are slim at this time. Whilst I like to be as honest as possible, if I do not wish to role-play with you (whether for now or ever and for whatever reason) I will say 'no thank you' or some other means of declining. Please do not ask me why or I will have to block you, which I hate having to do, but we do not owe each other explanations as to why we're not wishing to engage.* Be kind to yourself, we're all just humans doing our thing and finding who fits us best.

I can take up to a few weeks to reply at most, but if you like quickfire same-day responses I’m not the partner for you**. I work 40+ hours a week, have personal writing hobbies, a husband and cats who don’t get nearly enough attention, and occasionally a social life. I’m also a games addict. These being the reasons for my extreme selectivity. I want to write here with a few lovely peeps but that’s all I have time to squeeze in.

With my thread tracker, I generally go round each partner in turn before going round again, but on some occasions I’ll indulge in whatever has my mood or do a bit of catch-up on older threads. I'm a creature of routine so typically I'll try to do two replies every day Monday to Thursday.

I’m over 30 years of age. My pronouns are she/her. I won’t engage in adult content with anyone under the age of 18 or, ideally, 21 depending on your country’s consent laws.

I have a main Thor for my Lokis, and one other lovely partner, however I am looking for one who will write Thorki. I have an exclusive Carol Danvers (Captain Marvel). I have an exclusive Gale Dekarios for Astarion.

Play Style/Guidelines

I am happy role-playing in both past and present tense. Length of posts vary depending on the situation, usually a couple of paragraphs, but I sometimes have shorter ones/one-liners if a fight scene or argument is taking place or if I want to mess around with some !crack posting.

Asks are welcomed and I usually answer all of these but I reserve the right to choose not to continue one intended as a thread depending on my time/muse. If you want to be sure if I’m taking something on, please feel free to message me. If continuing a thread from an ask, I will move it to a new thread and tag you as tumblr starts to make things look weird on the blog even using the new beta. If I get a lot of asks from one person in a short space of time I may not answer them all. Similarly, if you send me something I find to be baiting, trollish, or I have no clue how to answer it, it’ll be deleted.

If I need to drop an established thread for any reason, I will usually drop by your IMs and let you know. Please respect my need to do this just as I will always accommodate if you need to stop something of mine. If you have not replied to something for more than 3-5 months and I decide I want to drop it, I will likely not contact you about it. It’s perfectly ok if it got lost so do get in contact if you’d like to pick it up again or start something new.

Please don’t be afraid to contact me about a thread if you tagged me in something and have not had a first response within a couple of weeks. It may be that Tumblr feed failed to tell me or I got overexcited about something (including that very thing) and forgot to track it.

I am not strictly ‘mutuals only’, especially as that makes it difficult for sideblogs and sometimes I may enjoy playing with a person but I’m not into a lot of what’s on their blog. Contrarily, I also sometimes follow people who I have enjoyed playing with in the past but don’t currently thread with or those whose content I enjoy but I’m not up for interaction. If you do not want me to interact with you, please fully block me. I will not ask you why. I want you to be comfortable and I can’t guarantee I’ll remember who is who if we didn’t know one another well, it’s been a while and/or you’ve changed your url or the content of your blog.

Regarding OC’s, I do play with some, however I have a strong preference for canons or canon-diverged simply because I find it easier to immerse myself in a world I know about and engage with muses with which I’m familiar. If I had more time on my hands I would love to get to know these lovely creations in more depth but I’m even more selective when it comes to them. If you have a canon muse playing with me then you get an automatic pass for my muses to meet your OC if I feel suited to them. NB: Since cutting down to very limited partners, it is very unlikely now I will write with a new OC partner unless I have got to know you via other means/you’re friends with a mutual.

NSFW (particularly adult content/smut etc.)

I do write content that is not suitable for under 18’s/under 21’s, typically of a sexual nature. Tumblr in its infinite wisdom and purity entirely hides anything tagged ‘nsfw’ so I do not use this tag as it stops my thread partners from finding our stuff at all. I now ensure that all adult content is tagged appropriately and under the mature content filters so you can filter it out. If, however, you have something more specific you’d like to avoid, I use the following tags you may blacklist:

lokisinner - in place of ‘nsfw’ on Loki's posts

filthy pirate - in place of 'nsfw' on Jack's posts

naughty memes - in place of ‘nsfw memes’

lemon - threads where a story has progressed to something fully sexual

grapefruit - threads with sex that is beyond vanilla (I arbitrarily use this)

dubcon tw - threads involving dubious consent

noncon tw - threads involving noncon/rape (rare and always discussed prior)

Shipping

Laying it down with the honesty here, I love shipping. If I’m writing with your muse, chances are I’m interested in shipping (if your muse isn’t specifically a canon friend or family member or a minor). It’s not 100% the case, but it’s a huge part of what I enjoy exploring or working towards.

A further confession I have about this is I am very visual and mun-based about what my muses are interested in. If I personally have an attraction to your muse, it’s easier for me to write them having an interest. I also prefer canon FC’s purely because it’s easier for my mind to immerse in the established canon. So, if you have an alternate FC, I’m not into your muse, or you have it in your rules that you’re not much into shipping, this may put me off following back.

That said, I will ship with chemistry worked out between us. My favourite ships are frostiron, strangefrost, bloodweave, and thorki, so I am happy to pre-establish those.

I am Thorki friendly. This ship will be tagged with ‘incest tw’ if it is a verse where they are brothers. If it’s an AU where this is not the case, I will only tag it ‘thorki’, and even then only when shipping is occurring. My #god bros tag is technically a Thorki tag in disguise. I am also Sylki and Lokicest friendly.

Triggery/Squick stuff

Things on my no list are scat kinks, Mpreg and A/B/O. I don’t mind you playing them with other people if those are your thing, they’re just not mine. I also do not like excessive/detailed gore but my only actual ‘trigger’ is something I will discuss with you if your character brings it up. It’s so specific that I won’t detail it here and it’s not your responsibility to protect me from it.

Most other things are otherwise on the cards. I will roleplay NSFW and will tag it as such when it happens. I will do dub-con if requested or non-con if there is a reason for it/we are comfortable and have discussed the situation.

On Drama

As mentioned up top, I despise call-outs and censorship. Wherever possible I desire to avoid unnecessary squawking and mob-like behaviour. If you engage in too much drama (regardless of whose fault it is) I will unfollow you and/or cease playing with you. I’m not here for it. I loathe passive aggression and vague-blogging but I understand we’re only human and allow a few slip-ups now and again, particularly as I’m liable to have been guilty of it once or twice.

If you have a problem with someone I write with, I will thank you not to associate that with me unless by my own words I’m advocating something. Until I see evidence of something with my own eyes, that is when I form my opinions. Don’t police who I write with and I won’t do so with you. Unless I genuinely believe someone is at risk of harm I will not tell anyone not to play with someone, regardless of my own experience. We all behave differently with one another and we’re allowed to grow. If you cannot accept my viewpoint on this then we are not suitable for each other.

*Although as above I don’t owe explanations as to why I don’t want to follow or write with someone, I know how frustrating it is not having answers. Here are some reasons why that might not be the case, but this won’t be a catch-all.

**If you are a role-player who only writes quickfire, on-dash immediate role-play and won’t continue a thread after that day or even anything up to the next couple of weeks, we won’t be able to keep a partnership unfortunately. I am happy to answer the odd ask for fun, play a few dash commentaries here and there to spice things up, but when it comes to a serious story I can’t do them on a short-term basis. I like to take time to build up relationships and play for the long haul as best as possible. We can absolutely wind down a thread, cut one short or skip ahead, but if we’re to keep writing together I need something intended to be continuous. My muses and I feel like energy is wasted if we keep having to restart and refresh with a partner.

In a similar vein, I will likely not keep playing with role-players who do frequent thread junking. If you’re a person who likes to refresh all your stories, drop everything and start again, that’s grand and I’m glad it works for you because we don’t all play the same way, but it won’t suit me. If you’re someone who does this but really values playing with me, then I would ask you to keep in contact/message me and ideally start a new thread that keeps the background we’ve already established or to chat with me about what else you’d like to do. I won’t chase after people and it’s not fair to make me do the hard work. Thanks for understanding and no worries if this means I’m not suitable for you!
