I know I rambled about this yesterday a bit, but it's actually stupid how much it works for me turning writing into a game where I'm "fighting monsters" by writing words (4thewords.com). Because instead of procrastinating and worrying my words aren't Good. Enough. (even though I know drafts are allowed to be bad) I'm like, "Well I have 45minutes to write these 200 words," which is so easily doable I don't even NEED to be focused (though word counts and time limits vary by monster). But the sooner I win the battle the sooner I can get the silly points and rewards and fight another monster and why is this working so well?

It's not just that it has me writing more than usual/not procrastinating, it's that it has me not caring if the words are good. And NOTHING else I've tried has been able to do that for me anywhere near this effectively.

thought again how overwhelmingly lonely akira would become after everything while time does its healing. u go from having a twenty-something ppl around u at all times to being alone. no one to knock on ur door in the morning, no ppl going in & out, no chaos of sudden fights. even in the (more likely) case where akira forgets its like. this haunting feeling of having forgotten something u shouldnt have. guy who goes to every social gathering ever to have that chaotic energetic experience of having so many ppl around again

Shoko heads into the convenience store, leaving you standing between both your very tall boys. Satoru has a heavy arm slung around your shoulder, tinkering around on his phone as he leans onto you. The shelves of random snacks and drinks inside catch your eye, a colorful assortment of sweets and savory tidbits–

"Oh!," you squeal and jolt forward out of Satoru's arms, gaping at his dark-haired friend. "Suguru, stoo-oop!" There's a mischievous grin on his face, and Geto chuckles at the childish stamp of your feet, your bratty whine. "I'm going in the store!"

Both men watch you scurry away, holding your skirt down over your ass as you disappear inside to find Shoko. Peering over his glasses, Gojo raises an eyebrow at Suguru. "What's her deal?"

"Nothing."

White brows knit together, and he pushes the sunglasses back up. "Ugh, fiiine. I'll just ask her."

Suguru tilts his head. "And you think she’d admit something like that?”

"Something like what? Why wouldn’t she tell me?”

A second passes. "You’ll do something worse."

Satoru lets out a small laugh, shoving his phone in his pocket. "Can't do that if I don't have any context, can I?"

"Exactly."

"Shut up."

They steadily watch the entrance, eyeing you up as you and Shoko eventually exit the convenience store. Gojo doesn't miss the way your eyes narrow at Suguru, who only gives an innocent smile in return. You make sure to stand on Satoru's other side, putting him between you and Geto. He leans over a little, whisper-shouting in your ear.

"What'd you run off for?," Gojo asks.

You glance at him, then at Suguru who's holding a lighter out for Shoko's cigarette. "Your boyfriend's being a little pervert."

"Perver–," Gojo interrupts himself with an incredulous, "Wha–, boyfriend?"

"He keeps pinching me.," you giggle at Satoru's flabberghasted expression. "So make sure–," and you say a little louder, just so Geto can hear, "–Suguru keeps his hands to himself."

The same man perks up at the sound of his name. Geto smirks at you, brows raised. "Oh? Did I do something, Y/N?"

Lip jutting out, your pout momentarily falters as Satoru replaces his arm around your shoulders. "Just keep your hands off me."

"Well, that's mighty hard to do."

"You're cringe, Suguru.," Shoko grimaces at him, and blows a puff of smoke in his face that he waves away.

"Whatever.," Geto chuckles.
