You never liked clubbing.

After all, you were only here because of Lando.

The music was too loud, people were pushing up against you, you never really liked to drink because you had a really low alcohol tolerance, you could make an entire list of why a club was not your go-to hang out.

"Lan," you yelled, trying to speak over the music, "Yeah?" He said, taking one side of his DJ headphones off so he could speak to you.

"Can we go back?" You asked. There was nothing you wanted more than to go back to the comfort of your hotel room with your boyfriend.

"It's only midnight." Lando said, "Why would you wanna go back? Are you not having fun?" Land asks you, but you could tell he wasn't really focused on you. You could see it in his eyes.

"I don't wanna stay any longer, clubbing isn't really my thing." You said, a hint of pleading in your tone.

"Soon, baby, okay?" Lando said, not even giving you a chance to protest before turning back to his DJ set.

You sighed in defeat, before retreating to a quieter corner of the club.

It was going to be a long night, like any other you've spent in a club, with Lando.

You were about to head to the bar to get another drink, seeing as Lando wouldn't want to leave anytime soon, and your best friend was probably hooking up with some hot Spanish guy, when you felt a pair of familiar arms wrap themselves around your waist, the familiar scent of Lando's cologne surrounding you, along with the smell of alcohol.

Lando nuzzled his head into your neck, mumbling something quietly, so quiet you couldn't hear him over the club music.

"What is it?" You said, raising your voice slightly, so he could hear you over the loud buzzing of the club music.

"Nothing." He mumbled, "Missed you, is all."

A small smile unwittingly showed up on your face, "Im gonna go get a drink. Go party."

But, Lando shook his head, "Can we go back to the hotel? I wanna cuddle." He said into your neck, instinctively pulling you closer.

You were shocked, to say the least. A year ago, he wouldn't leave the club no matter how hard you tried to convince him. He was a party animal, but now, he was asking if you wanted to leave.

You checked the time on your phone, it was barely midnight, Lando never left anything before midnight, let alone a club.

"Why, are you feeling sick?" You asked him, turning around to face him.

His arms wrapped themselves back around your waist, "What?" He asked, a hint of amusement in his tone. "No." He said, "just wanna cuddle with you."

"That's new." You commented as you brought your arms up to wrap around his neck.

"I always wanna cuddle." Lando said.

"Yeah, but not at the extent of leaving the club early." You said.

"Can we please go?" He mumbled again, looking at you like a puppy.

You nodded after a few seconds, "Never liked clubbing that much anyway, I only come to be with you."

As Lando and you and Lando were heading towards the exit of the club, you bumped into Max (Fewtrell). "Leaving so soon?" He asked, a hint of surprise in his voice.

"Yeah," Lando nodded, "Going back to the hotel to cuddle with my girl." He said, raising you hand and pressing a kiss to the back of it.

"You've really changed him," Max joked, "Lando being the first to leave? Never in a billion years."

You laughed, "Believe me, I don't believe it either."

"Can we go?" Lando all but whined.

You laughed again, "Okay, okay, lets go."

You waved goodbye to Max and led Lando out the club, and when Max saw his best friend look at you like you were the one who hung the stars in the sky, he knew you'd changed him for the better. And that his best mate was well and truly, in love.

i really like when sam and colby work with haunted nights. i think their energy mixed with snc's works really well. plus, i think to some degree they bring snc's energy down a peg or two, which is always for the best.

also, having nate in the video was a lovely choice as well. i love when he tags along with snc.

and this was the video that included lexi! she was a lovely addition to the video. i know she told me that she was nervous, which is why she seemed so calm in the video, but honestly??? it worked super well. every time it cut to her just stand there, staring at snc, was hilarious. bc it really makes you realize snc are super over-dramatic lmao

also, her telling me (and us) that colby was trying to help her up the hill bc of how slippery it was and that nate was extremely invested in learning about her when they did have down time.... omg, i love these ppl so much.

now about the building they were in, i always feel so sad when they go to mental hospitals and whatnot. something about places like these, to someone with actual mental disorders (me), always makes me kinda want to cry. the amount of torture and lack of care that happened at these places, when all anyone needed was help just breaks my heart. and then to have a literally room all the way at the top that was used to chain ppl up... disgusting.

side note, the scentbird ad... what the fuck were those outfits??? also why did colby think it was the right idea to spray the perfume into his face lmaooo

okay onto the investigation:

adam, the tour guide, was fantastic. he matched their energy very well. also he's in today's video too so i'm excited to seem him again lol

how did i know that the moment they would show the chains on the wall, i just knew colby would say something sexual???

the on running joke that nate doesn't bathe was so funny.

the idea that ppl were doing secret seances at the place is so creepy to me. also... why doesn't that man just get rid of all the evidence lol i would not keep that on my property.

also the fact that there are so many buried bodies on the property... that's insane. i'm surprise it's not polterguise-y up in there.

something about snc buying a body cover is hilarious to me. and then poor nate having to be their volunteer lol

everything that happened in the morgue was really cool. i guess it was good that they used nate as a trigger object in a way. but they clearly were communicating with something in there, which was so interesting.

can i be honest, and maybe i'm an outlier here, but dolls aren't creepy to me. even the ones that are purposefully made to look creepy. they just aren't to me. maybe it's also bc i grew up playing with dolls or something but like... dolls are scary to me, even if they are old and falling apart haha

i think snc need to get a stronger or loud spirit box. the one they have, it is so hard to understand wtf it's saying whenever they use it.

the estes method was insane, like always. i will say tho, the attachment part of this whole... attachment series is starting to wear thin personally. while i feel like it is true, if they aren't going to do anything about it, why keep bringing it up? why not have one of the episodes be going either back to the sallie house to return the spirit or going to someone that knows how to remove an attachment and getting rid of it? it just doesn't make sense to me.

also, if i was sam in this situation, i would have to have some form of light with me. or at least that was an arms' reach away or in my hand, that way if i got scared i could turn it on. i don't like pure darkness. i just... can't deal with it. also i have terrible eyesight so i already see shit that's not there to begin with since my eyes are garbage.

and as i've talked about on here, maybe don't whistle back to a possible spirit that's whistling at you, sam. probs not for the best.

overall, i think this episode was actually really fun. i liked it a lot and i think the addition of lexi was fun as well. i'm happy she got to go and got to talk to me on here about her experience. i would rate this episode like a 3.8/5. it was a lot of fun and the evidence they caught was so cool. hopefully today's episode is good as well.

I am eternally sad and disappointed that there aren't any big calamity meetings in tgcf canon because it would be so messy and horrible and dramatic.

u know bai wuxiang wouldn't show up at all bc the dude's basically a fucking cryptid, and even if he were there he'd probably just Stare Mencacingly at you and breathe creepily in someone's general direction, looming ominously over people's shoulders

and also, it'd be so funny because hua cheng and qi rong would be biting each other's heads off about xie lian, and he xuan, whose past is in no way tied to xie lian would just be sitting there wide eyed with a 'what the fuck is going on?? when can I go home?' kind of look to him. too confused and deciding it would be best not to ask who the hell xie lian is.

but when they're not at each other's throats and are having a rare moment of peace and friendliness I imagine their interactions would go something among the lines of

Hua Cheng: if i die my funeral's going to be the biggest fucking party and you're all invited

He Xuan: 'if'

Qi Rong: great, the only party i've ever been invited to and he might not even die

sometimes I forget that mu qing is like insanely fucking strong, mainly because he's often described as being very "pretty" and "graceful" and yet when we first hear about him, it's when we hear about him chopping a bell in half with a flick of his wrist.

also, iirc, the kind of saber he uses is a zhanmadao

which, as we can see, is a giant fuckoff weapon, and considering mu qing's level of strength, he could probably carry one around without effort. id shit my pants if I saw him coming at me with that fucking thing, holy hell.

hello, it is officially spooky season, and you know what that means: an assortment of bullshit halloween headcanons.

• Ling Wen is the person who hands out floss and toothpaste to trick-or-treaters. Children abhor her, adults are mildly annoyed, because it's halloween, what the actual fuck Ling Wen. Nobody goes to her house for candy because of this and she can happily enjoy a night of peace. Unfortunately, her victory is short-lived.

• Shi Qingxuan is throwing the biggest fucking Halloween party, and everyone is invited. This predictably goes to shit when the house catches fire. Nobody's sure how it happened, or who did it. Shi Wudu is pissed. • He Xuan bought several bags of candy and put out exactly none of them for the trick-or-treaters. He bought that candy for himself, thank you very much, and he's going to gorge himself on it, because he deserves it, fuck you. Share? Him? Absolutely the fuck not.

• Mu Qing and Feng Xin are staying at home watching horror movies. Feng Xin gets scared easily, and the jumpscares spook him. Mu Qing, on the other hand, is having the time of his life, and he won't stop laughing, which does make Feng Xin feel less scared, since it's pretty hard to be scared when there's someone losing their shit right next you.

• Qi Rong and Lang Qianqiu go trick-or-treating with Guzi, who has somehow convinced them into getting matching costumes. Qi Rong would be proud of Guzi if what little dignity he had left wasn't at stake. Lang Qianqiu's brain is just filled with aol dialup noises. Guzi is the only person with the braincell right now.

• Xie Lian and Hua Cheng are staying in, but Xie Lian keeps getting up to give trick-or-treaters candy. Hua Cheng keeps whining and asking him to stay. He wants cuddles, dammit.

• Pei Ming managed to get Ling Wen and Shi Wudu to get out of their houses, and go with him. Yes, they are wearing matching costumes. Yes, they look ridiculous, but somehow, they've managed to make it look good.

• Yushi Huang always has the best candies in the neighborhood. Children crowd around her doorstep, hoping to get some actually good fucking treats from someone who won't try to scare them every time they come near (looking at you, Crimson Rain!)

I feel that the best solution to the age difference and power imbalances between Rose and Dimitri would be to age Dimitri down. I would imagine that the show will age Rose up to 18 anyway; they did the same thing to Clary in Shadowhunters. I think it's probably so that they could put Rose into more relationships/different romantic or intimate scenarios, or to explore the reputation she has at St. Vlad's, while she's technically a legal adult.

They might age Dimitri down as well so that there's less of a gap.

When I was young and reading the books, I thought their relationship, specifically the age gap, was really romantic, because most of the media and novels at the time included age gaps and teacher/student relationships. I didn't know any better. Now that I'm older, I'm wondering why so much content that targets young readers includes relationships with power imbalances like that. I love Rose and Dimitri, but the age difference and the power imbalances do make me uncomfortable now when I re-read the books. Even if he isn't directly her teacher, he is someone who is her mentor, someone she has to see every day and if she chooses not to, she could face real punishment.

I think a lot of people will be uncomfortable with this dynamic on tv, which is a good thing because for so many years there were a lot of inappropriate relationships being shoved down our throats and I feel like a lot of young people were told to idealize them because it was "romantic".

I think Dimitri being 19 or 20, with Rose at 18, would work well without having significant impact on the story (if they have to change the birthdays of the characters... I mean, who cares? It wouldn't impact the storyline). I also feel like a 19/20 year old Dimitri would really demonstrate just how messed up the VA world is. There's this person, maybe not a kid anymore but to any adult over 25... Still probably a kid. And he's being hailed as a hero, the best of the best, a fierce warrior, but... He's a 19 (or 20) year old. He's so young still, and he has the weight of the world on him because his essential life purpose is to die saving a "better" species. Like... BAM, the entire dynamic of Moroi and Dhampirs on display right there. Dhampirs are expected to do it, trained to, told their entire lives that their only job is to die saving Moroi lives, and the Morois just expect all of these people to fall in line and protect them, because some of them are Royal and they deserve to have protection?? When the Dhampirs don't, they are shamed by all of society, because they made the selfish decision to live for themselves...

He can still be a fierce warrior. He can still be one of the best. He can still be an 80s music listenin', duster wearing cowboy. He can still be the best of the Guardians, because the Dhampirs are facing a population crisis anyway. He can still be traumatized from the death of his friend, and still feel the weight of the world to be professional on his shoulders. Dimitri and Rose's relationship wouldn't change if they aged him down. He would still feel, for a bit, that she needs to grow up. All of the St. Vlad's seniors do. They all are so excited to join the real world and kill Strigoi, they don't know the trauma of it all, or how serious the risk is. He's been in their position but he's been in the world just long enough to know how messed up it all is, how dangerous, and how quickly you can lose someone. All of those dynamics are still there.

The only thing that changes is that the relationship would be more appropriate.

I love this book series. It isn't perfect, but that's okay. There are things I would change, and things that I would sob over if they were changed. I think the best way to get this show viewed, aside from actually following the book this time and not trying to make it 'Mean Girls meets Twilight meets for some reason every teen in St. Vlad's has no clue about anything for a lame joke?? Meets satire', is to change the ages of Dimitri and Rose to make it more appropriate. I think a lot of people will be upset, especially people who haven't yet read the books, to see a 24 year old man who is a teacher/mentor/trainer to a 17 year old girl end up having a romantic relationship with her. That's a fair thing to be upset about. He is 25 and Rose isn't even 18 yet in Shadow Kiss when they first get together (she turns 18 at the very end of the book, and idk but wiki said he's 25 in Frostbite so?)

All of this to say, Dimitri Belikov being aged down to 19 or 20 ultimately wouldn't have a negative effect on the storyline of the show, but it would help protect young people from continuing to idealize inappropriate relationships. I hope that this is the route the writers decide to take.

Imagine how great Rose and Adrian could've been if they had been written to just have been friends. No shitty romance or love triangle, only The Chaotic Duo of dumbassery.

Rose would've come to Adrian after the events of SK and asked for money. Adrian would've asked why, and she'd tell him. He already knew about Dimitri, knows what this mission really means for her and how important it is to her. He warns her that it's a suicide mission, and she makes some comment back about how she has to do this. He knows she will with or without his help, so he offers her all the money she needs, no strings attached. "Courtesy of Nathan Ivashkov, of course."

"Bring me back something nice." Okay, maybe one string attached. He isn't serious though.

She tells him to keep an eye on Lissa. She's genuinely grateful, she recognizes Adrian and Lissa have a weird bond too, because they're both going through similar things with Spirit. He tells her he's got his cousin's back.

something about deltarune that cracks me up: napstablook has a job

like, okay, part of deltarune is that there's this... weirdly normal aspect to it. magic isn't real, sans is a convenience store clerk (and manager and janitor and also just a clerk, whatever he's feeling like that day), and people can get sick and be hospitalized and kids have to go to a school and, contrasted with undertale, it feels like watching the characters from Narnia all just suddenly be in the real world like nothing ever happened, which I think would feel like Percy Jackson but anyway

Napstablook having a job, though, is wild because they seem to be the ONLY ghost cousin with a job??? (Dummy might, but I digress) Like, in the Underground, Mettaton did great in show biz. He was charismatic, people liked him, and also there was zero competition. Maybe he wouldn't be the star for all monsters, but he could be popular locally. (I'm assuming the reason why he isn't is because he's still a ghost.) Mad Dummy/Mad Mew Mew, who I just call Mew Mew to help differentiate from Dummy, had the job of "training dummy" in the underground. Sure, she couldn't do the same here, but she could do SOMETHING with that, too. Ghostly sparring partner, maybe??

but no. napstablook, the person who, in the Underground, lived alone because their cousins abandoned them. they didn't have a job. their only hobby was making music, really. and now they are not only the SOLE PROVIDER for the Ghost Cousins Household, but they're a COP?!? they made blooky a COP?! They're still depressed and making music, too. When all the prisoners escape, they just drift on over to play the "all the prisoners escaped" music. why is blooky a cop trying to make ends meet to keep their cousins off the streets. what is even happening in the ghost cousin household bc mew mew and mettaton HATE each other so it can't be good

crying im watching this youtuber playing sims 2 and a) he's made a restaurant, b) the uniform is "speedos," and c) it is staffed by people he murdered and then resurrected but did so on the cheap side, so the grim reaper got salty and brought them back as zombies instead of normal.

This is already fantastic, but a) the zombies keep dumping food on everyone. b) one of the zombie's exes is proposing IN the restaurant, c) the proposal failed and said zombie is LIVID bc from his perspective, they were still MARRIED.

cannot imagine living in this world. insane

no ok but the inherent comedy in an fbi agent saying "hmmm.... there've been BIGFOOT sightings in the area...... i am here to hunt him DOWN" while bigfoot, who's got a werewolf-type deal going on, trips over himself because WHAT DO YOU MEAN SIGHTINGS HE'S BEEN VERY CAREFUL THIS TIME, ONLY ONE PERSON SAW HIM AND THAT PERSON- ohhh that person is sitting RIGHT next to the fbi agent, that person is a SNITCH, and just slowly picking up the pieces of broken glass and apologizing because he's the chef here, he's got a repuTATION to uphold, even if SOMEONE runs a CRYPTID MUSEUM and is apparently running around and TELLING PEOPLE ABOUT BIGFOOT, which is really hurtful and DEFINITELY crosses some boundaries
