Rambling about a ball winder (ignore worthy)

So, I really wanted a ball winder for Christmas. My mom called me beforehand and asked me if the one from hobby lobby would be ok.

I said yes, but considering that I didnt even know hobby lobby sold ball winders, I decided to look up reviews on it. And they're all pretty much horrible. Says that it winds very sloppy and only a very miniscule amount of yarn.

Yikes. Dont need that shit. My mom told me to let her know if it wasnt going to work, and so I did. She's still insistent on getting me one since she knows that yarn is my life. The winder I originally linked her to was sold out, so she had me look another one up.

Turns out all I could really find that was rated decently was the stanwood imports 10oz winder. It was love at first sight... great ratings, and it winds TEN. OUNCES. I wanted a large winder cause I have large skeins. It was perfect.... but also over twice the amount my mom initially spent, and even though she said she was willing to pay extra, it was over that amount too.

Very expensive, but looks extremely well worth it, and fits my needs perfectly. So I asked if she would split the cost with me... and she said yes!! Yipee!!! So soon I should have my very own ball winder!

Hand rolling actual balls will be a thing of the past! I'm super excited! I'm even more excited cause it should wind my ice cream big scoop skeins.... which are huge and a pain to ball go and work off of in ball put up. Yaaaaayay!
