Ashton in the past few years had always been an occasional visitor to the roof, balloting for his own plot in order the help conduct some experiments on root vegetables. Sometimes he'd just go up there enjoy the sun, read a book, but the scenery didn't really make for a pretty backdrop anymore. He tensed and turned hearing footsteps that joined him. "Here to take in the view?" Or maybe wallow in their self pity together.

Rami sat idly as he listened to the conversation next to him, the attempts at flirting not coming across well. After a second he was fishing out his phone, "Should I call 911 cause I can't believe how badly you crashed and burned." he couldn't help but tease with a laugh. Not that his efforts had been any better. "Why do I feel like we're getting worse at this?"

"Those are gorgeous!" Violet exclaimed noticing the bouquet Ruby had in hand. It had been a great day of exploring more of what Nightrest had to offer. Vi was in search of a space for an art studio. Figured she could settle some roots here and have it pan out better than her last attempt. "Thanks again for today! I definitely owe you a milkshake after this!" she smiled, feeling like it'd be the perfect way to end the day.

Chloe stepped out for a moment to get some fresh air, less anxious when she realized a lot of people had the same idea. She settled against the wall letting the cool air relax her. If she admitted it to herself the night wasn't too bad and she probably needed this night out more than she'd say aloud. The sight of a familiar figure walking past made her smile, "Wow, I'm loving the outfit! I almost didn't recognize you!" she stated equal parts teasing and genuine.

It wasn't often Sparrow was taken off guard. Years of fighting, of constantly being alert could not have prepared him. Somehow, despite going against all logic, he had ended up outside of Albion. (He blamed the Old Kingdom artifact that he recently picked up. It was always the fault of those.)

That was three days ago. In that time, he'd marveled at this land. It's people were so different to Albians. Still, he needed more information than only people watching could give him.

He was not the best with people, Sparrow knew that very well. His talents lay in death, but that would not help here. He took a deep breath to fortify himself, before stalking up to the next person he saw. His lack of reputation would do wonders. He just hoped that he could perhaps sell his performance.

"I am a fair bit lost. Could you perhaps tell me as to where we are?"

Jason loved his family as much as any other person, but the one thing he couldn't stand was his brothers' unexpected visits. He did the best he could with their dad and they had found a nice routine. Jason worked nights long enough that when he came home he was helping his father from whatever drunken mistake he'd made. The eldest of the trio had decided to drop in and Jason quickly found solace in Mama's. He worked on his burger, lifting the shake as someone approached. "Not in the mood Brooke." he prefaced before she even spoke.

Ashton was helping with some of the manual labor in prepping the garden again for spring as well as the collected snow they had for water. Shoveling off the rest on the pathway that didn't cleanly get collected. "Careful, it's still a bit icy there," he warned before looking up, sighing once the main path from the door at least was clear, "let's hope that's the end of the snow, shoveling is the worst."

BEGINNERS GUIDE TO BLUESKY

Hiya! Curious about joining bluesky but intimidated by all the features? Already on bluesky but want to learn more? Then welcome to my quick guide on getting started and navigating bluesky!~

What is Bluesky?

it’s a social media site that’s owned by no single person or company. it's aim is to bring back the early days of twitter before bots, elon musk or algorithms took over. Personally I find the site really cozy, wholesome, and engaging. my Bluesky account for example

What’s unique about Bluesky?

→ CUSTOMIZATION: ‎‎‎‎‎‎‎‎your timeline is very easy to control. There’s tons of options, so be sure to go through each tab in your settings. some options include: turning off autoplay, changing the order in which threaded replies show, changing DM settings, content preferences and lots of visual app settings.

→ MODERATION LISTS: human made, mass blocklists. These are public lists of accounts that when you subscribe to you automatically block or mute everyone in that specific blocklist. A great way to avoid unwanted content, and interactions. ✦ Moderation lists I recommend will be below the cut

→ STARTER PACKS: recommendation lists on who to follow, made by users. You can even curate your own starter pack of recommendations! ✦ Starter pack recommendations will be below the cut

→ FEEDS: public timelines, basically. There are a lot of feeds you can join, or you can even create your own. I made a feed featuring just my pixel art so it doesn’t get cluttered with text posts or other photos in my media tab. ✦ I’ll post feeds I recommend below and link you to a tutorial on how to create your own feed

→ BLOCKING/MUTING: bluesky has a great blocking system. When you block someone they can no longer see, or interact with you. They also have a feature to make your blog inaccessible unless logged in. you can also mute specific people, delete post replies, and even detach your post from a reblog. You can also mute specific words, phrases, tags etc.

→ NSFW: bluesky allows NSFW content, including artwork, porn, lewds etc. They also have a great moderation page to avoid the content completely, censor the content, or show it if you’d wish. ✦ just go to settings > moderation > toggle on NSFW settings and it’ll let you heavily moderate.

→ LABELS: this is a really cool feature on the site, you can subscribe to certain pages that enable a lot of fun/useful labels that help you in different ways! (like pronoun tags, artist tags etc) ✦ Labels to browse will be posted below

→ COMMUNITIES: the vastly diverse communities really feel like the best parts of tumblr. since you can so heavily curate your experience, it can really feel like a calming oasis. Mine is mostly artists, and other creatives.

there’s also a large community of professional artists, art directors, authors, celebrities, and even the best shitposters from twitter. the app really is what you make of it but it’s thriving right now.

Rami looked down at his watch once more before scanning the beach for Iris. He didn't think she'd stand him up given it was her choice of time and place. Not to say he didn't deserve it given everything but he was eager to apologize, even if he couldn't fully explain. When he noticed her arrival he made his way over to her, stopping only steps away, "I didn't think you'd show," he blurted without thinking before shaking his head. "You look amazing, of course." She always did.

Violet excused herself as she stepped outside to answer the phone. She'd ignored her mother's calls for the last few days knowing it would entail the same topics as before. That she and Ellie were making a mistake, that they should return and stop chasing their father's memory. "Well, I'm kind of in a hurry so uh— Happy Mother's Day." she stated before hanging up, stepping back, and settling into the seat opposite Kaylin. "So where were we?" she smiled lightly.
