joly/boss/chetta and grantaire friendship hcs? 🙏

im sorry this has taken forever to do omg you sent this in like last month, that’s my bad i promise

-grantaire isnt physical with a lot of people but being around jbm is different. he likes to let them touch and hug and pat his head. grantaire likes to nap w bossuet because he’s got strong arms and is very warm and comforting to sleep on

-all four of them are short. three short kings and a queen and it isnt even funny. joly’s about 5’8, bossuet and musichetta are both 5’7, and grantaire is 5’5. all of them have trouble finding pants that they dont have to roll up because they’re too long

-musichetta actually had her own experience with addiction when she was in her late teens and early 20s and because of that, she’s one of the only people who can take either side of grantaire’s face and make him believe that he needs help. talking with musichetta doesnt ever feel patronizing or anything because she genuinely understands what rock bottom feels like and she knows what to say and do to get grantaire to listen. they have a lot of late nights where grantaire is just sitting at the dinner table and she has a mug of coffee and she just let’s him talk and rant about how he aggravated he is with himself and how much he despises himself for being the way he is

-grantaire has everyone’s coffee orders memorized. whenever he pops by, he brings a couple over for his buddies (bossuet gets hot chocolate, joly gets black coffee, and musichetta likes a good latte)

-before moving in with jehan, grantaire also slept on their couch a lot when he got evicted from his apartment. they all like to joke that there’s a grantaire-shaped indent on the pull out mattress whenever he needs somewhere to stay

-they love going out to karaoke bars. the usual line up is jbg doing a three-man (awful) rendition of YMCA, joly and musichetta doing a really cheesy love ballad directed to bossuet, and grantaire nonironically doing wonderwall with his three buds giving him a thumbs up despite the fact that it’s wonderwall

-joly is a really good chef and the other three cant cook for shit but they help him in the kitchen the best they can. it usually ends up with bossuet and musichetta getting taken out by Onion Fumes In Their Eyeballs and grantaire is immune to onions so he just sloppily cuts up veggies for joly’s stews and the two have lil convos as musichetta and bossuet are flushing their eyes in the bathroom

-they all love drag!!!! they go to local drag bars and support performers and they LOVE it. bossuet and grantaire have actually participated in it too and joly and chetta went fucking WILD at their debut. god these guys love drag sm. they also get together on weekend nights to watch through seasons of rupaul’s drag race and it’s their lifeline

-ALL FOUR OF THEM ARE MOVIE TALKERS. ALL FOUR. jehan made the mistake of going to them with a movie he wanted to see really badly and he had a horrible time bc musichetta wouldnt stop doing bits, bossuet kept laughing at said bits, grantaire was doing commentary on the plot, and joly was asking jehan what was happening the whole time. nobody goes to see movies with them it’s an unstated law amongst their friends

Please talk to me more about how eccr got together (I've always imagined it like courf and ferre were together and invited enjy but none of the others noticed so R confessed to enjy and it got awkward until they all fell in to bed together)

Ok that is a super fuckin cute way honestly and i support it extremely hard but im gonna ramble about how I personally think it happened.

I think Ferre and R started dating first.

This super fucking shocked everyone bc they could have sworn to the high heavens that R had a killer crush on E and Ferre had a killer crush on Courf. In fact, Enj and Courf thought that too but apparently they were just... too slow.

cue SUPER MEGA PINING from both Courf and E. They just sit in E’s room and drink wine and feel sorry for themselves for like.... literal weeks??? and suddenly they find that theyre falling pretty hard foro each other. Like they knew they liked each other but theyve been friends for so long it never fully clicked that it could ever be more. Enjolras then obviously slowly realises that hes waay further in this shit hole than initially thought bc ohhhhhh he has a crush on combeferre too.... oh BOY. 

Eventually Courf and E get incredibly mushy and just goddamn confess to each other in tears that they like each other and BAM dating. 

Cue like a month of extremely bizarre double dates. Because Enj and Courf just came to the conclusions that they are both definitely in love with more than one person in this lil square but believe that R and Ferre are not reciprocative. Whereas Ferre and R have been plotting how to get the other two to still date them bc they went into this relationship open cards about their other feelings.

R and Ferre are flirting HEAVILY with enj and courf on these dates and it is throwing courf and E right off their chill and they are so goddamn confused (the rest of les amis dont even wanna touch the situation with a 2 meter long stick like god  its so volatile).

Eventually it boils down to Ferre confessing to Enj and Courf at a meeting prep that he would really like to date them and them completely losing their minds and Enjolras being all like “HOLD ON. I NEED YOU TO BE ENTIRELY DEADASS HONEST ABOUT HOW YOUR PARTNER FEELS RIGHT NOW CAUSE DO THEY WANNA DATE ME TOO????” and E kisses Combeferre quickly before marching out of the musain to hunt down Grantaire.

(i believe Courf and R were the last ones to realise their feelings for one another ive talked about it before. It involves paint and dumbassery and i love them)
