It feels like a lot of people are over Helluva Boss now. The fans still exist, sure, but even previously ardent fans like Sarcastic Chorus and his comments section are starting to turn with more bad than good to say. Even in his voice you can kinda hear the lack of enthusiasm in his latest reviews on the episode.

I mean who can blame him. He did the best he could with it. He tried to stay positive but the show just doesn’t give enough of a crap about quality for it to be watchable anymore. The “shut up and just watch it” mantra has a limit for everyone.

And to give credit where credit is due, he is fairly well versed on how shipping can ruin shows. He did a great video breaking down the Starco thing, the Total Drama island seasonal rot, and miraculous ladybug, all these shows have very similar problems. Being awful writing, terrible ship discourse that never ends, and a lack of separation between fandom and canon.

I must ask, what would a Bridgerton!choso romance be looking like?

I feel like the boo might struggle with it all since he is family forward in mindset and perhaps has never really thought about it. It could be a situation where the siblings push him to find a suitor after almost (if not all) are matched or married.

I also think that he may surprisingly struggle with the whole thing even after observing all his siblings seasons while playing guard dog. It would be interesting to see how the siblings act during his season- maybe a little role reversal and they are over protective? Or would they just constantly be pushing him and telling him to not overthink?

As for the romance part itself, feel like it could be a higher born woman whose the diamond of the season who initially is interacting with him for shits and gigs (kinda like hidden mean girl making the wallflower thinks he has a shot type of situation) but then catches the real feels. — other route two peeps who have both felt like they have lost their sense of purpose and find anew in one another

As you can see my brain has been working overtime on this, but I want to hear the true run down of this little love affair!

Side question/a fuel to the fire— is the kamo family in this universe? If so I’m guessing they would be up on the level of duke with the gojo fam. Further, aka the juicy part, is that I could see this leading into wayyy more problems for the choso route in a way cause I totally could see the kamos abandoning choso for some reason (*cough a bastard cough*) and him getting adopted by the itadoris at a really young age, but later down the road, the kamos want him back in the family line because the itadoris have made him into a fine man. No disrespect to Noritoshi but could see the kamos wanting choso back and being the “head” of the family if he overall was of better bloodline/capabilities

Eurovision 2003 - Number 6 - Markus Landgren - "Television"

Another year, another budding pop career. Prior to Melodifestivalen, Markus Landgren had a single single out. That was in 2002, and it was released in conjunction with his appearance on the first season of Fame Factory in Sweden. Even though he didn't win, he was popular enough to still have the recognition factor a year later and get an invite into the Melfest carnival.

The song is by husband and wife team Pernilla and Peter Sahlin (not the painter!), Television is a bit of an outdated harangue of television addiction. It has a holier than thou attitude that feels a little bit like an irreverent sermon delivered while Markus clings to that microphone as hard as he can flanked by two pillars of TVs. The reference to President Clinton comes two years after he left office. The backing singers on the TVs have make-up and hair and moves that places this song somewhere between 1978 and 1984 in attitude, visuals and inspiration. Bugglesesque.

Which is, of course, probably why I like it so much. It's triumphant chorus is admitting that despite the lyrics, Markus is totally into channel surfing and truly loves to trash his mind up with lowest common denominator reality shows and even quite likes the shopping channels. It's drama, it's knowing hypocrisy, it's clever writing - let's not underestimate the lyrical skill on show in the verses here. The drama-strings accompany some fun turns phrase and near the knuckle commentary. Having fun with words is not a Eurovision nor a Melfest speciality.

Not being typical of Melfest, this song did struggle. It finished 4th in its heat, which was enough to get it through to the Viewers' Choice final. It could only finish 7th in that, and so Markus's Melfest journey ended after one song.

If this feels a it like preaching then perhaps that's because after this, Markus ditched the music industry career and turned to the church. Specifically the Swedish Equmenia Church formed in 2011 and of which Markus is a pastor. One of the main features of the church is that it has a song catalogue, which grows every year, that is distributed around the member churches allowing them to learn new song.

i feel like eric would be pro-choice politically, pro-life personally. i can't see him staying in a relationship if the woman has an abortion.

as seen in the season 3 finale, eric wants donna to be committed to him and gets hurt when she won't wear the promise ring. he broke up with her over it. i know this is kind of a stretch, but a similar situation can be said with an unplanned pregnancy. i feel he would see it as the woman doesn't want him. (ofc it is different if they lack stability, money, etc.) I also believe in season 6, during their pregnancy scare, eric implied he wanted to keep the baby.

donna is strong-willed and will not let a man boss her around. she is definitely pro-choice and that will not change. i just feel like eric would just not be able to continue that relationship.

(i also feel like donna would never abort a baby between her and eric, but that's an ask for another day!!)

My verdict is: It's complicated.

He would be perfectly fine with it in the case of life of the mother, fetal abnormalities, rape, and incest. It's the just and responsible thing to do, simply.

Socioeconomic reasons are acceptable, too, as you stated. If he was the woman, he wouldn't do it, but he can totally get where the woman is coming from. If it's irresponsible to bring the kid into the world, as it would be in season 6, then he's fine with it. Even if it's a bit of a harder pill to swallow.

In my verse, the pregnancy in 2007 fits none of these qualifications. So he sees it as selfish and not taking responsibility for their actions, when Donna clearly states she does not want another kid. So hence, the drama.

However, I do not think he would break up with a woman over an abortion. If they're young and unmarried, it falls under the category above. If they're older, it might be a bit different, but he and Donna have been together for three decades at this point. They have two kids already.

It's not a case of Donna not wanting him, obviously. It's a case of Donna being (almost) done with the kid-raising stage of her life. If this unplanned pregnancy was a few years earlier, she would've had the kid.

If this unplanned pregnancy was many years earlier, she wouldn't have the kid, since they're clearly not ready. She was the product of a teenage pregnancy, and she wants a stable life for her kid. The stability her parents struggled to provide, whether they were married or not, but still. Being socioeconomically stable is typically a prerequisite for her, before having a kid.

'Greta Gerwig’s hot pink fantasia “Barbie” and Christopher Nolan’s intricately bleak historical drama “Oppenheimer” are both putting up box office openings to remember. In a summer movie season that has largely failed to keep spirits up, two bona fide blockbusters are showing that everyone can be a winner.

But the more winning winner between the two — the number one movie in North America — is Warner Bros. Discovery’s “Barbie.” After scoring $22.2 million on Thursday, the highest preview ticket sales of the year, the big screen bonanza about Mattel’s marquee doll kept the superlatives going on Friday, adding another $48.2 million from 4,243 theaters. That’s a $70.5 million total — the biggest opening day of the year, blasting past the $51.8 million earned by “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” in June.

The pink wave may not stop there, as “Barbie” now looks to score the biggest three-day debut of 2023. In the crosshairs is another branding flex — “The Super Mario Bros. Movie,” which landed $146.3 million in three days in April (as a caveat, the film opened with Tuesday previews and also played through the Easter holiday, drawing $224 million through that stretch). That animated feature currently stands as the highest-grossing release of the year, with $573 million domestically and $1.34 billion worldwide.

Gerwig’s “Barbie” also has a shot at scoring the biggest opening weekend ever for a feature with a female director. “Captain Marvel,” co-helmed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, earned $153 million in its 2019 opening. The record for a feature solely directed by a woman is currently held by Patty Jenkins’ “Wonder Woman” at $103 million, which “Barbie” will easily surpass.

All of this is to say, “Barbie” has gone boom. The film was a gambit by Mattel to enter the filmmaking space, costing $145 million to produce, not to mention more spending for a ubiquitous marketing campaign that went down to bus stop benches being painted pink and a Dreamhouse in Malibu. Reviews are glowing with a 90% approval rating from top critics on aggregate website Rotten Tomatoes and audiences are also ecstatic, as indicated by the enthusiastic “A” Cinema Score grade determined by surveying the first round of moviegoers. This weekend is proving to be an eruption, but the summer is far from over for “Barbie.”

Starring Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as Ken, the comedy follows the iconic doll as she travels from the fantastical Barbieland to the real world — which has some problems! The deep bench of ensemble talent includes Issa Rae, America Ferrera, Kate McKinnon, Michael Cera, Simu Liu, Helen Mirren, Will Ferrell and many more.

The penultimate weekend of July had become Christopher Nolan territory over the past few years, as the renowned filmmaker opened two of his last four features (“The Dark Knight Rises,” “Dunkirk”) in that slot. (“Tenet” was also originally slated for it, but faced release delays due to the COVID pandemic.) Months after Nolan exited Warner Bros. and voiced blistering frustrations about the then-current leadership’s lack of commitment to exclusive theatrical releases, Warner Bros. followed up — arguably retaliated — by dating “Barbie” for the same weekend as Nolan’s “Oppenheimer,” which the director had brought to Universal.

What once seemed like a contentious collision course now seems to have proven nothing but fruitful. “Barbie” may be winning the weekend, but “Oppenheimer” is still impressing. Playing in 3,610 locations, the sweeping biopic earned $33 million on its opening day, which includes $10.5 million in Thursday previews.

“Oppenheimer” is now looking to rank among the biggest opening weekends ever for an R-rated release. At the top of that list are a swath of franchise films, like “Deadpool” and its sequel, “It” and its sequel, plus the “Batman” spinoff “Joker” (which has already shot its own sequel). The film is currently projecting $77 million through Sunday, which would put it behind only “The Passion of the Christ” ($83 million) among the highest openings ever for a non-IP R-rated film — and the titular role of “Passion” has a bit more of a built-in fanbase than J. Robert Oppenheimer, to say the least.

The Nolan feature is also strongly benefitting from its showtimes in Imax auditoriums and other premium formats, which come with increased ticket prices. The filmmaker has a longstanding relationship with Imax, shooting large fractions of his features with the company’s heavy-duty cameras. (Also of note, the performance of “Barbie” is all the more impressive because it isn’t playing Imax auditoriums.) “Oppenheimer” is shaping up to be the third-biggest opening of Nolan’s career, behind “The Dark Knight” and “The Dark Knight Rises.”

On top of that, Nolan features tend to stick around in theaters. “Interstellar” and “Dunkirk” nearly quadrupled their opening weekend numbers in their final domestic earnings. Even “Tenet” legged out to $58.5 million after its wide release debut of $9 million — in a time before a widely distributed COVID vaccine no less. “Oppenheimer” has drawn some of the strongest reviews of Nolan’s career (a 96% approval rating from top critics on Rotten Tomatoes), but — even more encouraging — audiences seem to have truly taken to the despairing three-hour epic, as inferred by the sterling “A” grade through Cinema Score. With strong buzz and already some good fortunes for awards season, “Oppenheimer” has the right stuff to keep drawing audiences in.

hello!! i was wondering about the general setup for these characters? med mentioned that these characters were originally total drama ocs, so is like... the base universe the td-verse? sorry if this is too vague lol, all of these characters seem so cool!!

Yahh! OK so i'm gonna attempt to explain this without getting too convoluted. Moooost of the characters you'll see are contestants on the show. Some characters are brought back for all the seasons while other characters are only on a few of the seasons. Also! The cast is mainly composed of returning contestants, but there are always a couple newbies. In the canon of their universe, they're a 15 years later revival of the original TD (which ended after s3).

All of the seasons get roughly planned out as a group so that we end with an elimination order and a winner. Right now we're currently working our way through planning out the third season (there are going to be five total)!

The cool thing tho is how much they've evolved from just being like "hehe fake td characters". We've had the chance to explore their lives between and after the seasons, and we get to talk about how the show affected certain things too. We talk about how they're edited for the show vs. what they're actually like. Obviously the show is still a huge aspect of their stories, but they're so much more than that now. They've gained a lot of unexpected depth, and I think that's partially as a result of having so many creative people to develop them with!!

It's a project I think we're all pretty passionate about, and honestly having other people show interest in the characters is so cool :') <3
