"no, i don't. know anyone, that is. most everyone i know is a cop here." and he didn't exactly go out and meet people, hiding mostly in his house when he wasn't working.

"just paying my respects. it's not like she was a child but..." corvin sighed, crossing his arms over his chest. "still too young." maybe there was no right time to die, plenty of people went before thirty-five, old age and heart disease were common ways to go, but it wasn't like random chance waited for the old.

"hoping to see if anyone acts off. make myself known in town. offer services if you decide to arrest someone on the spot. see if something dramatic happens with screaming matches or sobbing friends. wouldn't do to just not be here for an event the whole damn town is at. even if i hate it."

"Definitely not. Just trying to respect your desire to move on. Unless you want to get all touchy feely? I'm all ears, Corv." Everyone had something that they didn't like discussing. But funerals already put people in somber moods, it was hard not to keep with the theme in conversation, too.

"I mean, that would be what we'd all hope for," Kara murmured, her arms lifting to fold across her chest as her gaze pulled away from Jack and instead searched the crowds once more. If it were that simple, just about anyone could be a detective and crack the case. But when people didn't want to talk and secrets were being held close to the chest...It certainly wasn't just as hand wave-y through the air like Corvin tried to make it seem. The Mercers weren't exactly the easiest bunch to get along with, let alone put together a case for. Hope had a lot of friends - and alongside that, a lot of enemies. But who among them wanted her dead?

Corvin had been told in no uncertain terms by his sister that he would be looking after his nephew & checking in at least once a month to make sure that her son who was in collage 10 minute drive from his bed & breakfast was doing okay. What he was not expecting was for one of his nephew's dormmates to answer the door in a towel hiding a somewhat see through pair of pink nickers.

"um wow, collage is very different to what I expected" he said eyes draging up to the others face. "Um... I was looking for Jack Finch" he said seemingly unaffected.

he lives on campus in the dorm suites (meaning they have four small bedrooms and a shared living space/kitchen) so feel free to be one of his roommates (or two of them, or all three), a professor, a lost dad on campus, a classmate, the school mascot, a bully, some 90's campy horror movie killer, whatever. go crazy.

He was foolish to think he was alone. Even though he didn't see his roommates when he came back he was on a college campus; in the dormitories, where each floor had a party almost every night. Someone was always around; someone was going to see him.

His roommates had taken his clothes out of his room and left him a single, sheer pair of pink panties on his bed as a prank. They were always pulling some kind of joke on him, usually at his expense, so by this point he was a bit used to it... which was just a roundabout way to say instead of getting embarrassed, he just shrugged it off.

After making his way down to the dormitories communal showers, Billy came back to his room and slipped into the panties; but only because he didn't have any other choice.

As soon as they were on there was a knock at the dorm's front door and, well, he might have been wearing them but that didn't mean he wanted to be seen in them. Grabbing his towel back out of his hamper, he tousled his damp curls and hurried out into the front room so he could open the door.
