Can we just talk about how fucking IMMACULATE Foundations is?? It’s like the perfect MCR song combining the intense guitars and breakdowns of Bullets and Three Cheers, the dark themes of rot and death from The Black Parade, the synths and production quality of Danger Days and the energy of Conventional Weapons to just create an absolute masterpiece which perfectly encapsulates their entire career both with its sound and its lyricism discussing much of the bands history and legacy

If MCR5 sounds anything like this it will be without a doubt one of the greatest albums of all time

And if there is no MCR5 Foundations is a perfect send off to their career

To give an example of this, I think these two are the best example.

Both of these creatures use the same structure. In fact, the exact same structure in French. One checks only Angels, the other all creatures, but other than that every other word is identical.

The same is true in english... Except for that crucial this/that distinction that makes them completely different cards! But in French, both of these are identical and could be read as either form.

Just came back from Foundations prerelease, it was a blast filled with nostalgia and excitement, with new and old players!

I will give a negative note to pass to the relevant team though: In French, both "this" and "that" use the same word. The change of using a card name to "this permanent" in Foundations has caused a lot of confusion as a result with players playing with French cards, as cards that refer to themselves and another permanent card tend to have templating that's ambiguous as to what permanent is affected. This isn't ideal, and definitely not starting in a set aimed partly at new players.

Small Foundations story about a flavor text thing in the set that brings me *so* much joy.

It all starts in the Mystical Archives, a representation of spells you might find in the Strixhaven library. We made up all kinds of tomes for this.

I started a personal quest.

I wanted to keep referencing these tomes in future sets. Build them out. Give them an identity as interplanar catalogues of knowledge.

Whenever it makes sense, I try to find places where they can fit into new sets. I'm also not the only one who tries. Sometimes we succeed.

I didn't write this specific text for the reprint of Essence Scatter, but I did noodle around with some other Tome of Obstructions text for it.

So here it is, an imaginary book invented four years ago continues to have its pages filled out. Maybe one day you'll see more.

We made sure Foundations was draftable, because all our booster product is draftable, but Foundations is about much more than just drafting. Drafting is a lower priority.

Photos show some uses for limestone building material, including building foundations of various sizes and a well. These stone structure remnants were all found in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. The limestone would have been quarried nearby and cut to specific pieces. Limestone was commonly used as a building material in the Upper Midwest in the 1800s.
