genuinly very curious- how full is your submission backlog? i'm sure y'all get quite a few submissions pretty regularly, i'm just curious how many y'all have to sort through

Our backlog is about three weeks long, although it varies quite a bit - e.g., we get way more submissions on Sundays and Mondays since the majority of games happen on the weekend, and we also tend to get more submissions right after holidays and around the end of summer vacation / beginning of fall.

There's also a technical component due to Tumblr's.... let's call it unconventional back-end infrastructure / database schema, which has an unfortunate tendency to hide random submissions until mystical unknown criteria are met. Which is why we sometimes post quotes that were submitted months ago - they've finally been released from the depths of Tumblr's databases into our inbox.

PSA: I will not reblog/post fundraisers or calls for donations on my blog. Tumblr has always had a problem with fake and spam fundraisers (dying cats show up in my inbox on a regular basis!) and I don't have the time nor the resources to investigate each link and story to make sure it's legit. This is a choice I make deliberately about my own tumblr experience and which has nothing to do with my thoughts or beliefs about anything other than "I don't want to expose people who follow me to potential scams." There are plenty of blogs sharing and boosting fundraisers regularly, as well as NGOs and similar aid organisations whose donation portals are easily accessible. I encourage everyone to do their research before donating to any cause, person, or organisation to make sure your money goes where you want it to be, and don't get your information from a random tumblr account like mine!

hey all. been quite a while. we recently moved cities, quit our job that was beyond our physical ability, and are about to try to finish our degree in materials science and engineering...

and we're thinking we're gonna try again with this blog. the 700 asks are a little too intimidating of backlog though, so we've decided that we're gonna mass delete prior asks (excluding the one submitted today? fun fact you were the first since uh. january i think) and see how it goes. no promises.

a few things we want to reiterate if you want to submit stuff:

aro in the title is short for the aromantic community as a whole, including anyone aro spectrum, questioning folks, or anyone asking good faith questions about these things. a great resource for questions about words is AUREA.

be nice. to others, obviously, but also to yourselves please! I don't mean that you can't vent ever, but tbh... the huge amount of "aro culture is [hating yourself/others/being aro/etc]" was why we burnt out on this blog. there were so many self-hating things that were being sent in, and there's a limit to how much of that someone can handle. especially a multiply disabled, queer, trans, college-dropout service worker.

as we've said before, the point of this blog was never serious. it was a gimmick blog for funny things. serious stuff is okay, but like... please be silly! have fun. aro culture is green :)

if you truly feel a trigger tag is necessary, and it cannot be filtered on your end, please for the love of everything tell me a damn tag to use. ie, 'spiders cw'

we are radically inclusive for all good faith identities. there is strength in solidarity, and infighting about shit like 'validity' or 'making sense [to you/outsiders]' reeks of respectability politics. be annoying somewhere else, or better yet, consider what is the most materially useful thing you can do to make your IRL community better today. some ideas: call your senators or representatives about an issue, create a group chat for your apartment building so folks can get to know their neighbors, volunteer for an event in your area. Learn about deradicalization, deescalation, and community building. Build a strong community.

Blog Maintenance

Hey y’all, just want to let everyone know that my blog is under maintenance right now. Half of my links have been broken for a long time, redirecting outside of the tumblr app/opening up a new tab when clicked. I finally decided to tackle it, but since I’ve been writing on here since 2021, I have a lot of content to get through.

I just wanted to announce it since I’ve noticed a lot of people liking some of my older work lately, and I don’t want anyone to be confused about why most of the stores don’t have links attached to them right now. Hopefully, I should be finished by the end of the week though!

2025 Simming Goals

Of course, I always have to set out some goals for the year, even if I was literally just talking about how last year's goals were too much, hahaha. This year I'd like to:

Complete the Veronaville summer round, and the accompanying story!

Complete the 8 Baby Uberhood Challenge, over on YouTube.

Make some progress on archiving my stuff over on katatty.com

Honestly, I think that is probably enough!! This year I am going to be actually modest with my goals, haha. It would be really cool if I have time for Spruceburg, Hollyhead and Driftwood, too, but I'm not gonna set myself up for failure by setting ambitous goals for those neighbourhoods as well - we'll wait & see what I have time for and what's most inspiring to me! <3

A couple upcoming changes to the blog:

I will no longer be queueing posts for character birthdays - it's just not feasible. I'll let the scheduled posts that I already have run out, some of which will last several more years (congrats Chiaki, everyone loves you!). I'll do my best to make some sort of graphic or post on the day-of instead for each birthday and anniversary! All dates will remain on the calendar.

The queue is going from 20 posts a day to 10 posts a day. This is actually a good thing, because it means I've gone through so much backlog I'm finally starting to run thin! There's still plenty to get through, just at a slower pace.
