Jungkook regrets saying that out loud because now you’re gonna think that he’s a creep, or definitely a weirdo. You’re staring at him completely caught off guard and he doesn’t blame you.

But before he can overthink and let his anxiety take over, because of how creeped out you must be at his remark, why did he even say that out loud it was unnecessary… you give him a small smile, and all of his nerves immediately calm down. The effect that you have on him… he’s so in love with you.

“U-Uh I’m so sorry how inappropriate of me… yeah, I remember not in the school, right.. Ms yn I’m so sorry.” Jungkook looks down in his lap, but all he sees is Jeon Seol staring back at his father, with a confused look in his Bambi eyes, even though there’s no no one left except for him, you and his son he still feels really bad because you must feel really uncomfortable.

“Well..” you clear your throat, “I don’t think there’s anything in particular that I need to tell you about the progress of his studies because he’s doing good in them but behavior wise,” your smile, fades a little and you’re all serious now, he notices every inch of your expression.

You look concerned.

“you don’t have to worry about Seol getting lost in the school the assistant teacher will take care of him because there is something that I need to discuss with you about him in private.”

Jungkook looks at you with confusion, because what possibly could you be telling him that you need Seol out of the room for?

“I-Is everything all right?” Jungkook stutters out, his nerves are back once again. You don’t say anything and that just scares me one more because what did his five year old do for you to be so serious? But jungkook has got your hint and he whispers something in his son’s ear before Seol runs off.

You sigh before saying, “Mr. jeon.. I’m a little concerned.”

“On Thursday, Seol punched a student because he said I loved him more than Seol.” You cross your arms across your chest. Your demeanor has completely shifted and you look so serious.

Damn, you look really hot- he’s so focused on you that he doesn’t even listen to what you’re saying that is until the word punched settles in his brain.

“what? W-What?” he’s so confused right now. Jungkook cannot believe that his five-year-old punched someone. “Uhh what?” Dumbfounded he asks you once again.

“Yes… the child was even bleeding…” you shake your head, “as his teacher, I feel like I failed him because he wasn’t an aggressive violent child..” Jungkook doesn’t like the way you get a little sad.

No, it’s not your fault.

“Mr Jeon.. he’s a little possessive… for a five-year-old I don’t think that’s healthy… I mean I love him with all my heart I love all my students, but.. it seems like he wants me to only love him.”

Jungkook wants to scoff. And what is so wrong with that? Yeah he shouldn’t have punched the kid, but the kid must’ve instigated him. But he decides to keep his expressions neutral.

“Is everything all right? you’re his parent and I think it’s my responsibility to let you know everything about him.” The way you speak is so tender, so professional and gentle, but he feels a little pissed off.

You have left a bitter taste in his mouth.

“A-Are you saying that you don’t love him? Or that he’s got a problem?” His could you- can’t you see you’re breaking jungkooks heart right now?

“If only he had a mother…” he sighs, sadly.

Jungkook nods, coughing so he can clear his throat, he doesn’t want to come off as mean, but.. he cannot help it anymore.

“I understand… I think that my son has misunderstood you.” He begins, as he gets closer to your face. “he has confused your role in his life, I’m so sorry for that, but the truth is that he sees you as his mother-rather than a teacher and..” he takes a breath, “you’re not his mother. You’re just his teacher.” He barely manages to resist Make sure that his tone is appropriate.

And you’re speechless.

He immediately sees a change in your expressions and your mouth is a little wide when you hear him say that. “ I’ll make sure that he understands that and he will never do it again I am so sorry.” Jungkook smiles, Before he leans back in the chair.

“I’ll even apologize to the boys parents.” Jungkook just wants to get away from you now, first his father and now you.

This is the worst day ever.

And tomorrow he has to meet his father. Someone kill him.

“can I go now? Also, please could you tell me the boys name?” He is not speaking to you with a smile. As you tell him the boys name and his parents names, he can tell that you’re almost about to cry, for some reason.

That’s how he feels right now too. Maybe you’re not what he thought you were. You will never understand him or his son.

“Well Ms L/N have a good day.” he chooses to address you with your last name as compared to your first… jungkook doesn’t know why he’s feeling so bitter right now, but he feels like you’ve crushed his heart.

He just made him feel like his son has a problem and that you don’t love him. He almost feels a sense of betrayal.

He can just sulk in the car so he gets up before bowing to you, as his son’s teacher, he has to show you some respect, and he picks up Seol’s bag that was on the floor before he ran off, and he’s out of the room.

What a heavy heart, and a heavy conscious.

It’s about time that jungkook lets his son know that you’re not his mother. You’ll never be. You’ll never understand them. Truth is that you’ll never want them and need them like they do.

Love for Love's Sake | Things You Didn't Notice #3 | Learning Korean with the boys

I have (barely) emotionally recovered after the ending of this series, and so I'm back with my usual translation notices and cultural specialties posts ^^ Long post ahead!

This time I'll look at the Episode 3 [Yeowoon's Affection level from 0 to -99]. Disclaimer: I'm not fluent in Korean but I've been learning it for years and I've lived and studied in Korea for a while. However, in particular Sangwon and Sia annoyed me so much this episode because their banter is so funny but I cannot decipher their wordplay 100% by ear without KR subs so I have to skip over their dialogues %)

Anyway, there's still some fun language stuff to point out!

- "You're late, Senior (hyung)" - "Senior? (Sunbae?)"

Fun fact: Sangwon, who's the same year as Yeowoon, addresses Myungha as "hyung". Meanwhile Yeowoon addresses Myungha only as "sunbae". Hyung is a term guys call their older male friends (if you're familiar with Thai BLs as well, it's same as "Pi"), meanwhile gender-neutral sunbae means senior, someone who's been longer than you in the industry or some institution (like school).

If I remember correctly, Yeowoon keeps calling Myungha 'sunbae/senior' until the very end of the show. Even when they are sleeping over in the same house after school hours, Yeowoon doesn't call Myungha hyung but sunbae only. In Korea, you use titles or formal full names to people older than you or acquaintances, and you usually use names with the people younger than you. That's why, if you think about it, there wasn't a moment in show when Yeowoon says Myungha's name :D Only sunbae. And that's normal. (this is also why Myungha never mentions Writer sunbae's name at all)

Also, we'll return to Myungha's usage of Yeowoon's name a bit later.

"Keep doing it if you want to die young, Sangwon-ah." "*gasp* You call me by my name when you're mad?"

But Sangwon is talking to Myungha in a very familiar way, using 'hyung' instead of 'senior' every time, making it feel like they are friends (and most of their interaction this episode revolves around Sangwon trying to make Myungha talk to him like a close friend as well xD).

Why is Sangwon so thrilled every time Myungha calls him by his name? Because there are many other Korean words you can use for people, especially if you're angry with them (ranging from the impolite 'this guy' to swearwords). But every time Myungha gives a casual warning to Sangwon who's annoying him, he still says "Sangwon-ah", which is how you'd call your younger friend who's just being a brat. No wonder Sangwon keeps pushing Myungha to get his attention and affection^^

On the topic of names and intonation: I noticed Myungha uses aegyo (acting cute) often when he talks to his grandma. However, with other school students, like I mentioned in my previous language posts, most of the time his speech feels like a patronizing talk of a 29-y.o. adult.

But! I found that one scene when Myungha is deliberately using aegyo with Yeowoon! The reason for it is that Yeowoon finally responded and wanted to meet up after avoiding him for so long, and Myungha is extremely excited.

"Yeowoon-ie, you're waiting for hyung?~" "Don't use that voice".

Two things: Myungha calls himself Yeowoon's "hyung" which feels closer than "sunbae", he wanted to take the next step and make their communication less formal. And instead of saying friendly "Yeowoon-ah" like he always does, he changed the pronunciation of his name to "Yeowoon-ie" — which is, together with the playful intonation in his voice, is so. fucking. cute. However, Yeowoon instantly rejected his aegyo and Myungha returned to the way he always spoke x) RIP.

I already pointed it out briefly in another post but – Myungha cooked a curry rice for dinner with Yeowoon. It might not seem like anything, but I thought it was an amazing detail to show later in the series that even when Yeowoon almost forgotten about Myungha who disappeared, he kept bulk buying rice with curry (yellow packages) for his dinner.

"You act like you're my parent (guardian)." "Well, you're not wrong."

I thought that Myungha telling Yeowoon he's not wrong about him being his "parent" was a bit weird, and indeed, the word they are using here is 보호자 (bohoja), which is "guardian". It can be said about parents but also about anyone who's protecting something or someone as well. Which is exactly what Myungha is striving to do in this world and in this game. To protect and take care of Yeowoon.

"My mom split (ran away) but my dad said she died." "I wish I could split (run away)... I kept running around the field because I felt frustrated. But how could I run away?"

Here I'll need some help from native English speakers, which I'm not, can 'split' be used in this dialogue with the same connotation? Because in Korean, Myungha clearly says "My mom ran away", to which Yeowoon responds "I wish I could run away" and immediately remembering about the reason why he became a runner. And I just loved the accent the show made on this word, which got lost in Gaga subs.

"Don't slack off because you think no one sees." "Maintain your image (Do some mental training)"

This one is surely a mistranslation. The coach says "Do Image Training", in Korea and in some other Asian countries, as far as I encountered this term, this basically means "mental training", or "meditation" and has nothing to do with maintaining one's reputation.

Think "breathe in, breathe out and think how well you'll do and imagine yourself running that race before it starts".

Yeah, probably no one cared about that dialogue or scene anyway, but I hope you're still enjoying my hyperfixation on this show xD Anyway, it's been a long post and I'm done for Episode 3 — but as a bonus, let me share bonus with one of the Sangwoon x Sia scenes.

I tried hard to figure out the word that Sia uses when Myungha pleads her to get rid of Sangwoon, and the closest I could get was 분력 (the power of Buddha), but one thing for sure — following Myungha's begging, Sia cross-sprayed Sangwoon with perfume like holy water and ordered him like "Begone, demon!". Lmao :D

His flushed cheeks are a testament to the wintry chill that surrounds him, adding a rosy hue to his already captivating visage. His nose scrunches up his nose at the slightly cool wind which brushes his already flushed cheeks. As the soft flakes of snow fall delicately upon his coat clad shoulders, he remains unfazed, displaying an air of quiet confidence and solitude.

Amidst the pristine white backdrop, his jet-black hair stands out, glistening as if it were coated in a thin layer of frost. Each strand appears silky and smooth, falling effortlessly around his pale, youthful face, framing his youthful features perfectly .

His once styled, not messy bangs are hastily parted to the side, giving a peek of his feline, warm brown eyes. They add a touch of mystery, drawing attention to his captivating eyes that peek out from beneath the soft curtain of hair. His eyes, when glimpsed through the gaps, reveal a glimmer of curiosity and a hint of his inner world, full of soft dreams and a longing feeling of love, and you're dumb enough to say that, too. His lashes rest on his soft cheek each time he blinks, and you fold.

His eyes are just so beautiful.

The contrast between his dark hair and the snowy scenery only enhances his striking appearance.

As an observer captivated by his presence, you feel an innate desire to reach out and brush off the snow that has accumulated on his shoulders and hair. Your fingertips itch with anticipation, longing to gently remove the delicate ice crystals that have settled on him. The act of doing so would not only demonstrate your caring nature but also allow you to connect with him on a deeper level, but you know you cannot. You would not.

Hidden behind the bangs, his eyes meet yours, and he gives you a smile. A smile which has his gums and teeth showing full on display, eyes crinkling close at how wide he's smiling at you. Cute, you think, and your cheeks heat up at the thought of finding your senior, cute.

But it is what it is, right? Stupid heart. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Whenever he approaches you, or smiles at you, or reads you out paragraphs.

Or maybe when he saves a tangerine or two for you. He hasn't still admitted it out loud that the tangerines you find on your desk often during the lunch break are actually from him, because a lot many times in the beginning, you've scanned over the classroom to see who's your secret tangerine Godfather, only to notice him silently staring at you through the corridor.

And you still giggle to visualise how fast he has turned away, abruptly, cheeks red like a tomato on being caught. Now, you didn't really need to actually look for confirmation whether it's from him, but you do enjoy the look on his face when you bring out one during times like these.

You find him devastatingly cute.

You know you're grinning like an absolute fool, heart palpitating like a damned drum being played.

Times like these, your heart decides to thump loudly against your will with heated cheeks and a fuzzy stomach where you feel—they call it butterflies, the funny feeling—occurs. It's as if a delicate dance of happiness is happening inside you, spreading joy with every movement, every word and every giggle passed in between you two.

He's two years older than you- you're fourteen, he's sixteen. But still, there's no icy formality as there used to be before when you met him. It's now all giggles and jokes.

Long story short, you met him at the basketball court, or rather bumped at him. But that's another story to continue, no?

“ Is that a story again you've written, Yoongi-ssi? ”

You playfully ask him as he takes a seat beside you, fumbling with his coat pocket to fish out a small, yellow paper, or rather, a sticky note.

You absolutely want to tease him for the flush that rises to his already pink cheeks at your teasing, because now you're bold enough to confront him with his short paragraphs that he writes to read out to you in the free times like these.

“ I— uh.. ”

“ I just did that randomly while trying to write a song.”

He looks so cute, so adorable, so homely with a small pout on his pink lips, his already pale skin shining softly. The chestnut overcoat fits him perfectly, hugging his slender body. Its warm color complements his features and stands out against the white snow.

The soft fabric of the coat drapes gently, giving him a polished appearance. He crosses the lapels of his coat over for warmth, and your cheeks burn with mortification when you realise your heart skipped a beat with the random thought that you had a strong urge to keep him warm with your arms.

“ A song? Did you finish it, senior? ”

His brows furrow slightly at the honorific you're addressing him with. You know his irritation because it's been long he has told you to let go of those and just be normal friends, but maybe you do like his pissed off face a bit more than you should.

A bit more than you should.

He clicks his tongue as a denial, shaking his head slightly, fidgeting with the small paper.

“ ..No, but ended up writing this. ”

“ Is it in English, senior ? ”

You absolutely love the way he sends a half hearted glare your way, but you know he doesn't mean any real burn behind it.

“ The melodies remind me of some certain emotions which..which I don't really acknowledge, at times. ”

Melodies. It wasn't really long since you've come to a realisation that melodies, mean his thoughts for him. Or, the music notes you often see him going through.

No matter if he's infront of the piano or not. You'd often catch him scribbling something on a paper with flushed, red cheeks, but on further inquiry ( and a little teasing, maybe) you'd get nothing but annoyed grunts, nothing too serious.

A new learner of English, he says, he is, apparently. But the small paragraphs he often reads you out with such fluency was already convincing you otherwise.

His voice when he speaks has a thick, Korean accent which is audible though each syllable, but you really think that it adds a dash of charisma to his overall voice when he speaks. His tone is light, fluent, and overall, pleasing to hear.

You weren't good at English yourself— but you didn't miss the times he would watch you with curious, sparkling eyes whenever you spoke in English. Or give a speech in some annual function at school, or achieved good marks in examinations.

But to you, you thought it was all just— practice and even a bit of instinct. You didn't even know what adverbs were. Well. Reading books of various genres helped you in crafting your vocabulary, and it's a good thing that you can use it now— but for him, you were a God. In English.

You bite your inner cheek to catch him blushing, again, as he fumbles with the small paper clutched in his hands.

Your hands itch to reach forward and hold his own, larger ones, which he often rubs together to warm them up. You give him a small smile with a nod, encouraging him to speak his side. He clears his throat, and after releasing a sigh, he begins.

“ Sometimes, the most elusive desires are the ones that torment us the most. We yearn for something we know is nearly impossible to attain, and the ache within our hearts grows with each passing moment. „

Yet, deep down, we grapple with the knowledge that we may not deserve it. The pain is twofold— a longing that both consumes and humbles us, reminding us of the delicate balance between our desires and our self-worth. ”

A moment of silence.

Suddenly, a realization sparkled in your eyes, like a shooting star illuminating the night sky. His paragraph was about longing something which you know is nearly impossible to attain. And it takes you almost a minute to realise that he just read it out to you. He was audibly quiet after finishing his little speech. His glance was down to the little paper opened in his outstretched fingers, hasty and cursive english scribbled on it.

You glanced back at his face. His eyelashes were covered with small droplets of snow, and you then realise that the fuzzy feeling, wild butterflies roared in the pit of your stomach. They reared high up to your chest, enveloping your tender beating heart in a soft hug as his gaze followed up to you, and you see the smallest of the smiles breaking on his lips.

But your breath hitches in your throat when you realise that maybe the yearning he just read out to you doesn't resonate the same way it does in your heart.

Your heart felt a gentle tug, pulling you to a different path, where your yearning took a different shape, with different colors and a unique rhythm. In that moment, you embraced the realization that sometimes, the yearning in our hearts doesn't always align with the yearning we find in others.

You shouldn't take Yoongi’s kindness to spend time with you for something which you don't know where will it lead to, because you know it's a path not so easy to tread on.

“ How was it, ____ ? ”

His voice breaks you out of your thoughts as you already find him looking at you.

You feel a genuine smile blooming at his feline eyes curiously peering at your own ones. He looks like a lost kitten, and you try the hardest to not coo at the big tuxedo cat infront of you.

“ Amazing as always, Yoongi-ssi! You used very high class words, though! I really love how you described it so well. ”

His small smile now widens to a whole, wide grin which has his gums popping out, nose scrunching in delight at your praise. His cheeks are dusted pink again, and you feel the roar at the pit of your stomach again.

You ignore the tug at your chest who deals with the crumpled threads of hope, again.

And that's okay, for in the tapestry of emotions, each thread has its own story to tell.

if you're a haegeum reader, i just wanna let you guys know about the relationship between oc and yoongi more. i don't want to include the flashback parts more in the main story, though flashbacks like these may pop out of nowhere to let you guys know more ✨ however, the actual relationship of their past remains vague, or is upto the reader to decide.

also, i'm not putting haegeum on hold. because, i still maybe would write more drabbles / scenarios so regarding their past (so that readers get the connection between in the main story ) (no promises, but has more possibilities).

but the update for the main story— i dunno when. it's going to be long, and actually, it's quite a thing for me to write. there's a lot going on, so maybe the update should hopefully be done till late November (just an estimate. no promises. ) the ending I’ve visualised, i fear that it's not really the best or happy in any ways, and i have to work on it to make it presentable. but for now, maybe i’ll focus on writing my other fics with lighter genres. again, i’m not putting it on hold. it's still a wip, so don't worry 🤍 maybe or maybe not it can be released before, or even after.

everglen has the vibes of three floors.

the kitchen is totally close to the door

so whenever biana is cooking in the kitchen the front door is close by, just in case. (my hc: she's a horrible baker. idk if that's canon or not)

biana and fitz's room are down the hall from each other- they can run down to the other's room in, like, 5 seconds because... sibling antics :D

there was some super random stuff i included. doesn't relate to everglen at all. (for example: 'mr arson x bronte' and some keefitz stuff)

i had a choice to be productive and FINALLY bake like i've been nagging myself to for the past few weeks or do random kotlc shit.

you can tell which option i chose.

everglen has TOO MANY BATHROOMS. plus, like, 3 guest rooms.

ABOUT THE MULTIVERSE

The multiverse itself is has the Anti-Void exists outside the multiverse and there are Voids that exist separately in each universe

The Doodle sphere and the Au's have changed and there is the addition of planes

There exists the Meta Space, the replacement of the doodle sphere, which is a void that exists inside the multiverse but outside the Au's, the void itself is black but has many 1’s and 0’s floating around in it

The Meta Space holds all the Aus, Meta Sphere is an area where Backup gathered a lot of Aus so that he can better protect them

The Aus in the Meta Space are floating islands contained within a bubble and in the island their contains a portal to the Au, the islands are all uniquely different from one an other as each island is meant to represent the theme of that Au, the portal frame follows this theme as well, but the portal itself is many sheets of page, all on top one another with the paper all saying the Name of the Au

The Bubbles that contain the Aus are meant to protect the Aus from anomalies, these bubbles are creatures that are somewhat sentient (think of the like Cells), any viruses, glitches, and anomalies that try to enter an Au will be blocked by the bubble so that they cannot cause damage to the Au Tho Backup has found a way to bypass the bubble protection and the bubbles cannot prevent someone trying to enter the Au using the Anti-Void or Void

These Bubbles move around in the meta space but it’s at such a low speed

if too many viruses and/or glitches are within an timeline of an Au, the timeline will lock itself preventing anything from exiting and destroying everything in it

The Destruction of Undertale

Long ago before Backup entered in this multiverse, A virus had entered it, trying to infect the code and destroy this multiverse

But this multiverse firewall and anti-virus protection software was able to hold off the virus and eventually the virus was deleted

Or so it thought, a piece, a small singular piece of the virus had escape its deletion, due to the multiverse recovering from the event, it was not able to detect it

and eventually this small virus managed to infect undertale and went undetected for so long

eventually the multiverse created bubbles to protect the Au’s from such an event if it were to happen again

and after such a long time, the virus came back but it was stuck in UT due to the fact the bubble was able to sense it and trap it

Now stuck in Undertale and Au began to destroy itself and then Undertale was gone and the virus had seemed to finally be destroyed

This is an Undertale Only Multiverse so no fusions that include Deltarune or any other games

The fusions have to be a fusion of 3, for example, [Character] X [Character] X [Character]=[Fusion], this applies to Out!code and AU fusions

Note: You can only fuse 3 Out!Codes together or Fuse 3 AUs/ATs together, you cannot fuse an Out!Code with an AU unless in specific circumstances

You can fuse an Out!code with an Au if it follows these circumstances

If the Au was not destroyed and the out!code just simply is lost in the multiverse or spends time outside their Au, then it is alright to fuse their Au with another

Characters that simply leave their Au due to everyone being dead or something similar, they count as Au characters but it is alright if you consider them out!codes and can be used in out!code fusions, For example Something New Aka Killer

Do not use Crossover Au’s in fusions

I want this to be just an Undertale multiverse plus Crossover Au’s are already considered fusions, they will/should not be in Fused!Verse

You cannot fuse 3 Aus that are extremely similar for example fusing underswap, swapswap, and undershift

Be more creative with your fusions, if the Au’s have VERY similar concepts, there is no point in fusing them with each other

Credit the creators of the original Aus when you post it online like on tumblr or etc

This should be self explanatory, unless you don’t know the creator of the Au/out!code, you should always credit them

You cannot use the same fusion someone else has already used (For Community fusion Au’s it’s a bit of an exception)

Now for community fusions, you don’t have to follow this rule, as I am not expecting everyone to know who is using what Au/out!code for their fusions, this rule applies to the CANON AUs and Out!codes in Fused!Verse, as YOU cannot use any of the Au’s/Out!codes listed here in the CANON list

Do Not use Au’s like Horrorshift or DustSwap as they are technically are already fusions

You can’t use those types of Au’s as AT either, just don’t use them at all as I said they are already considered fusions

You cannot use Au’s like SwapSwap, AfterAfter, DustDust, and etc in fusions,

Dissertationposting 10: The Final Proof

IMPORTANT NOTE: I have not given enough credit in these posts. The first theorem about SYS manifolds is due to Schoen & Yau (1978), while the homological formulation of the proof is due to Schick (1998). The proof for M#X, X non-compact, is recent, and adapted from Chen (2024). The result for aspherical 3-manifolds was shown independently by Schoen & Yau and Gromov & Lawson (1980), although this proof is adapted from Chodosh & Li (2024). Gromov's various papers (some with Lawson) have loads of cool results with very different methods, but also are the worst formatted things I have ever seen.

Ok so this is nowhere near the final proof in the dissertation, but (shockingly) that was structured pretty differently. I'm just gonna go through all of the lemmas you need to prove that closed aspherical 3 manifolds are non-PSC. 4 & 5 are much more complicated, but without many new ideas. Depending on your background, you might get very different things out of this, and I'm not gonna hold back on the formalism here, it's all fairly important.

First off, the "thick" hypersurfaces.

Lemma 11.

Let M be a closed aspherical n-manifold with universal cover M̃. Then there exists a curve γ : R → M̃ such that for all L > 0, there is a compact hypersurface Σ with boundary such that d(∂Σ, γ) ≥ L and any (n−1)-chain α with boundary ∂α = k[∂Σ], k ≠ 0, meets γ.

Wow, what a ride. The picture is as follows. (Yes I know it looks phallic.)

The idea is more or less as follows.

Find a "geodesic line" σ in M̃- that is, a distance preserving map R -> (M, g). [1] Note that the existence of σ uses the fact that M̃ is a universal cover, and is basically two applications of Arzela-Ascoli. [2]

Let U be the n-submanifold of points at most some distance L+ from σ[0,∞). Let Σ be the (n-1)-submanifold of ∂U of points at most some distance L0 from σ(0). Details in [3].

Perturb σ to a curve γ meeting everything transversely. Then the intersection fact comes from algebraic intersection number.

Do normal arguments to make sure that we can choose L+ and L0 arbitrarily large.

Great, a pretty standard metric space / differential topology argument. Now we get to skip the fiddly lemmas that you need I'm higher dimensions, and go straight to "thin" hypersurfaces. This should feel similar to the Laplacian-style arguments in earlier posts. Note that we'll apply this lemma to M̃, but I'll still call the ambient manifold M for notational reasons.

Lemma 12.

Let (M, g) be a complete Riemannian 3-manifold with R ≥ 2. Let Σ be a compact hypersurface with non-empty boundary, and φ > 0 a smooth function on Σ satisfying ∆φ + ½(2 - R_Σ)φ ≤ 0. Then for any p ∈ Σ, d(p, ∂Σ) ≤ 2π/√3.

Here d is the distance measured inside Σ, not M. Again, the rough steps aren't too bad. [4]

We want a Riemannian band, and the obvious choice is to pick some distance d, and let B be the points in Σ at most d away from the boundary. This doesn't quite work, so we take a warped product with S¹ by φ. Note that the condition on φ is cooked up to force the curvature of the warped band to be ≥ 2.

Again, we'll take h to be a scaled/shifted tan(distance). This time, the scaling and shifting makes 3/2 h² - 2 |∇h| ≥ 8π²/3d².

Take a μ-bubble Ω = Ω' × S¹. Taking 2π/√3 < d < √3π and f=1 in the μ-bubble lemma gives

But this is a contradiction by Gauss-Bonnet: ∂Ω = ∂Ω' × S¹ which cannot be a 2-sphere.

Basically, you have to repeat steps 1-3 once more for each additional dimension, except this makes the final contradiction harder and harder each time, because the curvature of the warped band is harder and harder to control.

Finally, we put it all together. If you wanna see how much harder this is for n=4, see [5].

Theorem 13.

A closed aspherical 3-manifold is non-PSC.

Suppose (M, g) is the universal cover of a closed aspherical Riemannian manifold with curvature R ≥ 2. Apply Lemma 11 with L + ε for some L > 0 to be fixed later and 0 < ε < L, to get a curve γ and compact hypersurface Σ_0 with boundary.

We can actually assume that Σ0 is stable minimal, as Lemma 11 only cares about homology class rel boundary, so we can minimise area like before.

Let Σ be the hypersurface obtained by removing a collar neighbourhood of ∂Σ_0 of radius ε.

We can apply Lemma 1 to Σ_0 and then restrict to Σ, to get a φ satisfying the Laplacian in Lemma 12. So taking L > 2π/√3 gives a contradiction.

And there we go! The final step you need for the classification of PSC 3-manifolds is the following, paralleling our earlier theorem.

Theorem 14.

If M is an aspherical manifold of dimension n ≤ 5, and X is closed, then M#X is non-PSC.

This is despite (unlike for SYS) M#X is not aspherical (the connecting sphere is homotopically non-trivial). I'll leave this as an exercise: the first step is to show that for any map f:N -> M there is a connected covering space N͆ and a proper lift f͆:N͆ -> M̃. The final step is to use local degrees and chains to get a contradiction in the style of 4. above.

Hope people have got something out of this! I've definitely been reminded how interesting this all is when you don't have to spend days checking all of your constants are right and your submanifolds are well-defined.

There's a lot of ships I've seen so I'm gonna a rapid fire say how I'd rate them and commentary

GOD THIS IS GONNA BE LONG

0104 <- 2/10. I can see the appeal but they're more siblings, they're very dysfunctional together and don't have the best relationship. Plus, any Haruka ship is a turn off for me.

0004 <- 6/10. It's cute and I see why people like it. Es and Muu would make a pretty funny couple outside Milgram.

0103 <- 0/10. They're brothers in my eyes, and as I said before, Haruka ships are bleh. Also, uhh... 17 and 20??? Age gap??? Not legal???

0203 <- 5/10. They'd be besties, and Yuno would bully(friendly, tho) the hell out of Fuuta. Romantically nah.

0204 <- 7/10. I see the appeal, actually, and they're both high schoolers! I feel like the whole Yuno dislikes Muu would definitely make it interesting.

0305 <- 2/10. I see them as bickering, son, calm father, trying his best. Fuuta acts too much like a child for me to even take this ship seriously 💀

0506 <- 9/10. I downloaded 5 0506 art pics today and I'm NOT upset! Team mom and team dad! Gotta love them, they're just so AREGGG ADORABLE

0306 <- 5/10. Throw in Mikoto, and it goes to a 10/10 ship. 0306 alone, though, is basically angry Fuuta and Mappi, trying her best to calm him down.

0507 <- 10/10. It's one of my favorite ships. They kiss, and the world is happiness.

0607 <- 8/10. Team mom x Team dad but it's the oldest of both genders. It's wonderful but 0506 appeals more to me more.

0307 <- 3/10. The age gap and how Fuuta acts might as well have Kazui be his dad 💀

0309 <- 10/10. No questions asked. They're just adorable and would work perfectly romantically and Platonally.

0609 <- 8/10. They're so cuteness overload core. 2 rays of sunshine :3

0210 <- 7/10. I've seen a bit of it and can see the appeal. 2 smart gals who are also cold. Perfection. I prefer them as like, cool friends who bully Fuuta tho hehe.

well okami is my all time favorite the art & the music & the message/story are all just incredible theres not a single time ive finished it i havent cried. i absolutely adore ryoshima coast ive spent so many hours just running around there to listen to music. which fun fact for u i only know about this game bc in about 6th grade i picked up okamiden bc i thought the little doggy was cute & was like fine i'll play as this boy if i get a cool dog and u cannot imagine how excited i was to find out u DID play as the little dog. i was SOOOOO obsessed literally my exact thoughts were 'if issun is ammy's celestial envoy then i am going to be chibis' i have a metric fuck ton of fan art i did at the time bc i thought it was quote "the epic-est game for ds ever" also cried every time i finished it. i was 13 so i didnt know what "being down bad" was but do know i was as obsessed with kurow as i was with d-ne later and now tenshi not a single irl friend was unaware i was in love with him. also fun fact for u bc at the same time i was also getting super into vocaloid i was so convinced my vocap name would end up as chibiP to the point i named myself that in pkmn x chibiP after chibiterasu of course. please enjoy my banger old art which is not even a fraction of my output

yume nikki is my next favorite game specifically the og that changed my brain chemistry as a kid. i adore that game so much its hard to put it into words. its just so unlike anything else. there is absolutely nothing in the game that can directly harm u theres no real health meter theres no way to die during the main play the absolute worst that will ever happen is u get stuck or woken up. in a horror game. which is already just amazing. and the whole horror aspect just plays on something i dont think is often done as well in many other things. ur alone. u wander and wander thru worlds that loop and connect and seemingly have nothing to do with each other. theres no dialogue; talking to npcs just gets u a noise or animation at best. ur entirely alone with just urself. its all dreams so u know everything is of madotsuki's own creation, another layer to the all u have is urself feeling. the art is just unusual i cant even say any of it on its own is in anyway scary. the whole thing shouldnt be scary and yet every time i start wandering in a world i cant help but feel unease. amazing 10/10 no other game will ever have what this gave me.

everyone knows i play pkmn the best is still pmd sky that also rewired my brain i still cant play it without crying.

its been a long time since i was really just playing it as the chapters released & got translated but 1bitheart is so so so important to me too. i dont kin for multiple reasons but if i did nanashi would be my first choice. like- without saying that to her i got my one irl friend to play once & when she saw how nanashi was she turned to me and went "this is just you" hes very important to me even now. absolutely loved the whole friendship sim & the story & its twists & the endings & their implications left me in shambles at 1 am on a school night. my fave charas are nanashi enri & saaya btw. i should replay this.

i also love the etrian odyssey series i love the character portraits (esp with the more recent games' color customization) i LOVE the dungeon art & i think all the monster designs are so cool. adore the whole make ur own map aspect keeps me so entertained to take a step & look around & chart all the walls & path ways. unfortunately i fucking suck at every single one i am not very good at strategy games so i end up stuck at or before the 3rd stratum. but thats okay its still fun to me.

the other one i'll talk about at length is spirit of the north another game i loved the art of. u play as a fox & get a partner spirit fox & i just love it SOOOO much. its also a game with 0 dialogue but theres A Lot going on it if u care to follow along & explore & dig into details & the game play is also pretty fun to me. this is the one game i started learning the speedrun btw thats also a very fun way to play it but ABSOLUTELY play it as intended first it has so much to offer

SHE'S PENSIONED, BRING THE SCOOP AND BROOM A woman is 52-56 years old, what do you need from her haha? х) (For those who don’t know, it’s just a joke about age. I hear too often that Piper is very young or looks young :D)

SO HERE I’ve already made posts 100,500 times where I mentioned some rock band, and FD in general (it’s especially clear in the post with Viola), whose music I listen to 24/7, with extremely rare interruptions to third-party songs. Let me just say - Ghost. Anyone interested in what it is and why they listen to it will Google it. If you ask me to tell you about this group, some internal jokes of the fans, jokes of the musicians and the vocalist, and the whole plot of the group as a whole, spare your nerves, I will paint such a canvas for you. Four people got caught in the attack, I feel sorry for them, AHHA bullshit.

I was wildly pushed to create my own aushka, and to weave a couple of characters into this theme, that I couldn’t resist and this snake came out, a malachite snake. Since I decided to really get into this FD (that’s why one of my nicknames is Rat x)), I wrote down a few of my heads, and VERY BRIEFLY the plot of my characters. So far, only Piper has been distributed, so this is as brief as possible:

Since this is a headcanon and there is no title “Emeritus Mama” in the original or in real life, it will be here. Since the vocalist is referred to as "Emeritus Papa" in the Ghost fandom, the women in her line will be Emeritus Mama. Piper became Emeritus Mama I because before her, the title of Emeritus Mama Nihil (Nihil - designation 0 in Roman numerals) was held by her mother. Piper, like the original band, performs with a rock band. Unlike her mother and sisters (I will only take sisters for now, because I divided the groups by gender), her makeup refers to the skull of a snake. You can see her without paint on her face, but it’s extremely rare. Early in the morning or late at night, if she was in her chambers. But usually she puts on makeup and only then leaves her room. Before taking on the title of Emeritus Mama, Piper was a cardinal and wore a more simplified version of her makeup - an all-white face, outlined in black for her eyes and lips. Like the original, her musicians are ghouls, who obey her in the same way, helping to perform on stage, playing live music (I will show the ghouls much later, I have to draw them and their outfits). Ghouls are literally children in adult bodies, so on stage they can go crazy or get too close to the audience, but magical chains keep them from attacking, because in addition to childish pampering, they are wild and very dangerous creatures. I don’t have the outfit with me yet, I wanted to post today, but like the ghouls, it will appear a little later in two versions. Returning to the topic of song genre. Once upon a time, I was asked about her voice, whether there is anything similar among actors or musicians. Yes - In This Moment. Maria Brink's voice suits her and her type of characters perfectly. However, Brink's voice in real life does not suit her, because unlike the musical voice, it is sweet and not as rough and hoarse as Piper's should be. Therefore, if you imagine Pie’s voice, then rely on Brink’s songs.

That's all I can tell you for now. When I can get started and finish her outfits and ghouls, I'll be sure to post the story as well.

Also, I want to remind you that English is not my native language. I could easily make mistakes or incorrectly label the character's title as “Emeritus Mama”, because I cannot know exactly what this title would sound like in English and correctly. I joined it not so long ago, only in November 2023, and I would really like to develop my headcanons and history. I will be grateful if there is no aggression towards me. And I want to say, there will also be headcanons on paps and ghouls at some point. How The Creator Became.

This section explains HOW The CREATOR (G-d) BECAME (in Detail), in the exact manner that The Creator has shown logically. 

***PLEASE NOTE**This is for those that are not entangled in a religious way of thinking. I Will stay away from Calling the Creator Male or Female because neither is correct in logic/reason, it would be of both not only 1 or the other, neither does the Creator fit in the religious ideals or their gods/deities like the Yahweh/El God of the Bible. This description is talking about a CREATOR/Intelligent source who doesn't ask for praise, blood, sacrifices, etc but encompasses all and surpasses minute physical things.**

SCIENCE CLAIMS NO CREATOR EXISTS, BUT A CREATOR DOES (There is ONLY one TRUE CREATOR/INTELLIGENT SOURCE that people falsely called G-d to which can be entitled to anyone): 

Alright so, The Creator always shows the creation comes first. Although science has indeed helped to advance society and has much credibility and evidence (which is grabbed from the creation itself), science cannot prove everything because it's forever "learning" from the creation itself. Science can't always be certain, because it's always subject to new data as well. In addition, without creation, science has no resources!!! So, science cannot explain and understand what, how, when, etc. Without it being created FIRST. Science studies the creation, never the "creator" studying science. 

Showing further that The Creator comes first:

The answers that are given in a "scientific" manner are for us humans to understand, but the answers formulated (be it observed, tangible, empirical, etc.) come from the creation, and the creation is created first.

Science is limited simply because science uses tools to measure and science cannot explain outside of its own ability to measure.  Lastly, science itself uses terms like “the God particle" and "Mitochondria Eve" (Mitochondria is located in the x chromosome = the cell that every human needs to live). So, science itself is using terms from the creative idea and dismissing the creator/creation idea of the representation of those terms *at the same time, which is contradictory and pure irony too. Science itself is showing you creation is first, by seeking the creation's RESOURCES to explain the creation itself. 

WHO OR WHAT CREATED THE CREATOR? 

I will use linear logic and empirical evidence to show in detail that basically, "The Creator" created himself or itself and that it is itself. The Creator is SELF— 0 (like a circle, number 0). 0 is conception,  - it is birth, like the woman's womb (which is A space to create - 0). Technically the “creator”,  would not necessarily have a “beginning or end” but this is the only way to show for our limited human understanding that the creator IS itself and created (or comes out of) itself.

The description of the full circle (0) would be relative to explain and I will explain it as the first person (being “you”). You would describe it as “first point/beginning” (the moment you placed your pencil down to “start” the circle) and “second point/end” (as you draw the circle, your “ending point” will be back to the “beginning point”).  Which will create a "0" -  space to create within it. So, in expression; for us to understand, the creator has a “beginning and end” but the creator does not at the same time because it is “itself” and doesn’t “need” a “starting or ending point”; it just “creates” it itself because it can, NOT out of “necessity” but out of ability.

Rather it is a scientific explanation or just a logical thought — it still is the same concept, which is to say “nothing cannot come from/create nothing”.

Still though: “nothing” is still “something” (in some expressions a “sum” of a thing). That “nothing” is “vacuum energy”, and so it is still “something”/a thing. So, in essence, the scientific explanation still shows that “things/a thing” formulates to expand out and “become”/“be”…even though it is that “thing” already. It shifts, formulates, and produces light (in other expressions “fire”). That “fire”, the “big bang” is those “things” (time, space, energy, matter) = which is to say simply particles (gases, etc.) It started forming with hydrogen and helium… (more than 10 million degrees) ….heating (fire, the consuming fire —“light”) became denser. God basically expanded out creating to the creation, expanding itself out, being its own force to do so. After the big bang, tiny particles bound together to form hydrogen and helium…the closer it fused it produced heavier the elements (nucleosynthesis).

Let there be "Light" is the "Big Bang"... an action, an expansion, and the ability to create from space ("0"). This is why you cannot “see” the creator’s “face” (too much heat, light, fire) and we can only get an EXPRESSION of the Creator's image and likeness. It is “light” and too much like (think of sunlight) could blind you, bend you, or cause you to die. The Creator IS LIGHT.

^^ALL of those actions is to form the CREATOR, which was PHYSICAL action. The elements, the expanding out, etc. are all PHYSICAL ACTIONS to which it became conscious of through the concept of DARKNESS and the space (of "0"). 

In DARKNESS chaos occurs, darkness allows all possibilities, and simply order comes from entropy. So, This allowed the Creator to be "woke"/"conscious" (through the "heartbeat/core" and the Creator became aware of itself. The heart/core has been beating/alive since "13.8 billion years".

If you put BOTH physical actions of the "MAN" and of the "WOMAN" together you get a FULL view of the CREATOR and HOW The Creator operates:

The Physical Self (MAN): self-supporting, self-sufficient, self-protecting... 

The Emotional Self (aka the Heart/Core) (WOMAN): love, caring, light, balance, scales...  

**In a nutshell, The Creator works with our core (who we are, inner feelings, emotions) and works with our physical (what we do/our actions).** There are social conditioning factors outside of this that influence MEN and WOMEN's actions as well. 

I USE THE TERM CREATOR or "IT" (sometimes) TO DESCRIBE THE CREATOR because it is hard to place a name/title on the Creator because it is "ALL"/"EVERYTHING":

Still, “the Creator/it” is not a negative connotation really. It is just an easier way to understand, there is no "physical" of the Creator in a sense of the physical here. So, the term “it” (The Creator)  actually “encompasses” all/everything. The same way a person would say “IT is over there". The thing being described as an “it” is still something/sum-of-thing that is itself/full. "It" can be a description of a - person, place, or a sum of a "thing".

“IT” is a reference point to what “it” encompasses (the seen, unseen, known, unknown, etc.). So, “it” is an easier term to outline that describes more than enough beyond a physical description, that is why I use it to describe the creator.

IN SUMMARY OF THE ABOVE:

"The Creator" expands itself out, he chooses (the action, motion to do so) - to be itself. A full circle ("0") - “in the expression” of what it is…has to be omniscient, omnipotent, Omni-intelligent. In expression further about a “full circle” - the circle is completed already (“full”)…The Creator expanded out to create itself as the “circle”…so it had to be the “circle” in order to expand out to make a complete “circle”: (1) so, it (the creator) has to be all-knowing because it is everything (the vacuum energy, the something that is “nothing”, the thing that is and the thing that produces something), (2) it has to be all-strong because it started it all (“science’s description called the “big bang”) - that’s powerful. (3) "The Creator" has to be everywhere because it is itself that produces all that is and all that is not.

The Creator exists and it is the DIVINE, the LIGHT/the all IN within all.
