Once he’d finished classes for the day, Jamie dropped his things off back in his dorm and changed out of his jeans into a pair of athletic pants to go with his t-shirt. He slid a jacket on and made his way toward the gym. He’d been practicing more since he’d asked Kyla for help to decide if he wanted to try out for cheer at all, but today he felt more of a drive to run and figured one of the treadmills would suffice since the weather was a bit rainier and drearier today, which might also be affecting his mood.

Jamie had known he’d feel homesick again once his parents had left but knowing it and now feeling it were two completely different things. His father had warned him not to let it take over and control him, and that was part of the reason Jamie had chosen to keep to himself, so he wouldn’t pass along his less than happy mood to those he had come to care about here.

The submissive took a moment to stretch his muscles as he stopped by the treadmills. There only seemed to be one other person currently in the gym and they were lifting weights and doing their own thing. Jamie stepped onto the machine and started off with a slow jog as he found his groove as he ran, slowly increasing the speed to a steady jog as his mind started to go blank as it normally did when he ran. He barely registered the fact someone had approached until he realized they seemed to be speaking to him. “I am so sorry.” Jamie apologized as he reached up to slow the machine down so he could pay attention. “I didn’t realize you were talking to me.”

Hey guys! I made a little update to the Replies section of my rules, and wanted to post it here to make sure everyone was aware.

It's nothing big or major, just letting everyone know that I will be doing my best to make some improvements myself to my own roleplaying style going forward.

I really enjoy writing, and a lot of times I tend to get carried away in my replies, and so they end up a bit long or wordy, and I fear that this may be... making it difficult for others to interact with me in some cases. I want to make things as accessible as possible and be accommodating where I can. One of the ways I can do this is by paying closer attention to how much I'm writing in my replies.

So, going forward, I will try my very best to trim down my post lengths where it is necessary. I will try to match reply lengths and styles with my roleplay partner's preferred length and style. If you prefer longer, wordier, more descriptive replies, then I am more than happy to provide that. If you prefer shorter, less descriptive replies that are more dialogue forward, then that is what I will aim to provide.

I will do my very best! I can't make promises to always fulfill these standards, but I will try! I'm a writer at heart and so my little writer's fingers always want to write, write, write, but I do respect my roleplay partners and want to make things as enjoyable as possible here.

I try to reply within 1-3 days, but sometimes I get busy and can’t keep to that time frame. However, if it has been a week or longer, please feel free to reach out to me. I may have overlooked your reply or didn’t get the notification. Some threads are easier for me to reply to than others and so those may take longer, but I will answer as soon as I can!

On the flip side of things, I will never ask or remind you about a reply, thread, plot, or anything like that - regardless of how long it's been - unless we have discussed that you want me to.

I understand that roleplaying is a hobby, so if at any time for any reason you want to drop a thread or anything, that's fine. You don't need to tell me. I do ask, though, that if something in a thread has made you uncomfortable, that you do please tell me so that I can correct myself going forward. I understand that I can't force you to do this, but your comfort is important to me and I'd really like to make sure I don't accidentally cross any boundaries going forward.

For the most part I will roughly match length for length, although sometimes my post lengths will run longer or shorter. I really, really enjoy writing, so sometimes I get carried away and the length of my replies gets a little… long. I am doing my best to mitigate this, as I’ve come to realize that most people prefer shorter replies. I will do my best to match my reply length and style to yours, as close as I can. If you have any preferences otherwise, please always feel free to come talk to me in DMs.

In most cases, I prefer not to do rapidfire, 1-2 lined type of roleplay style, but I do make exceptions for crack threads and dashcoms. I’m also okay with these turning into longer and canon threads too, within reason. I just will get burned out if it’s rapidfire back and forth responses and will likely need to slow them down, that’s all.

Lastly, regardless of the reply length, I ask that you please give me enough to work with. For longer threads, a couple of short paragraphs with some dialogue and descriptions should be enough. Most importantly, please remember the all-important "yes, and-" aspect of roleplaying. If there isn't enough for me to work with, then I will likely drop the thread.

MUN MONDAY: GETTING TO KNOW YOU

ROLEPLAYER NAME: my alias is Puffin, folks can call me Selkie tho. both work, I use both, so I'm not particularly picky either way ! whichever folks prefer.

ROLEPLAYER PRONOUNS: anything ! they/she/he, though I default to she/they.

MUSE NAME: I've got two kiddos, Shade and Kaey ! Kaey is my older muse, I've been writing him since 2012, while Shade is a newer edition to my collection of ocs. I love them both, they're both my literal children at this point.

PREFERRED COMMUNICATION: Discord please ! tumblr IMs are just... I lose track of them very easily, probably because they're not like. right in front of me / always where I can see them. whereas in Discord I can keep track of folks and conversations much easier. in general, I just feel more comfortable discussing via Discord. its also good for roleplay, if folks are okay with that ! but yeah, Discord all the way.

EXPERIENCE: I have been roleplaying since I was... I literally just confirmed, at least 10 years old. I started out on forums. ever heard of Chicken Smoothie ? its a pet adoptable website, and where I really got into roleplay. from there I was introduced to tumblr by a friend, discovered tumblr rp, and... I've been here ever since. that was back in 2012; I was just about to turn 13, and I'm currently just about to turn 25, so. I've been here awhile. been writing and roleplaying for over half my life at this point.

PREFERRED ROLEPLAY TYPE: I'm partial to casual discussion style roleplay, but I also really love just. writing. so. it may take some time to get me in the proper headspace to sit down and write, but its always satisfying to be able to. however, casual discussion style is more accessible, definitely. just easier and quicker. but I will always value writing and reading solid threads, solid interactions. seeing it come together, getting excited about it... its what I love about roleplay, and I wouldn't trade it for anything, even if other things are easier or faster. nothing good comes easy, or so they say, right ? idk. I'm old-fashioned I guess.

PET PEEVES & DEALBREAKERS: oof, lets see. immediate dealbreakers: no trigger or nsfw tags (especially if there is nothing that says there won't be; I can understand some blogs preferring not to tag if its standard content), no rules or about, posting callouts and witch hunting behavior (ESPECIALLY if its just interpersonal or petty grievances, I have ZERO tolerance for this). pet peeves... I'm pretty chill. just treat me with respect, communicate with me like an adult, and we'll be fine.

PLOTS OR MEMES: yes ? but like, logically speaking... memes are more likely to happen with me than plots, cuz I'm slow and struggle with that kind of pressure. so memes are probably the best way, yeah. but low / no pressure casual discussion ? vibing until we figure something out ? sign me the fuck up !

LONG REPLIES OR SHORT REPLIES: another yes. it really depends, I feel like I fall somewhere in the middle. a couple short paragraphs is my default, but I know for some folks thats considered long, and for others still short. so. I'm dynamic. I'll admit that I'm wordy, I like fleshing out interactions with thoughts and actions when I can, so I would say I'm probably more inclined to long style. I know I've started a few short dialogue threads then ended up getting 1+ paragraph responses, so. but I also don't expect my partners to match length ! idc if other people write short replies, so long as I have something to build off of. "yes, and" rules and all that !

BEST TIME TO WRITE: when the world is dark and sleeping. or when the moon aligns with my medication and energy levels. so... mostly at night. I get a lot of stuff done in the dark of night; I don't feel like I'm being perceived by my family so I feel free to move around and do more tbh. less distractions, too.

ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSES: yes. not intentionally, but yes. Shade moreso than Kaey, but Kaey and I still have similarities. I think most writers bleed into their work somehow, and I don't think its something to be ashamed of. for me its. I write and create to cope, right ? so having characters I can relate to, that I can see myself in, helps me... feel better about things. like, if Shade and Kaey can do stuff then I can to ! plus, I won't lie, seeing myself in my muses also helps for introspection. I genuinely feel like I've been able to become a better person by acknowledging my similarities and learning from them, whether through interaction or otherwise. and, of course, the reverse is also true: I learn a lot about Kaey and Shade by exploring my own identity and perspective and how I interact with the world and others.

To what extent does their appearance in game match your vision of them creatively? Are there things you wish you could change about them in this regard? Or possibly do, if you knew of a way to do so...

I did my best to try and get close when making all of the beans as alts in-game, but honestly if I had my druthers, all of their in-game models would have so many little tweaks and adjustments to match how I see them (especially since I'm awful at getting mods to work and they give me more headaches than I find worth wrestling with them for).

I got a little wordy in this and scrounged my travel laptop for some old doodles and pictures, so this is going under a cut for length.

For Ehn, I tend to picture him much lankier than the miqo'te in game; he's long limbed and gangly, and still gets mistaken for a teenager at a distance. He cuts no real imposing figure physically! I also tend to draw his ponytail a little scruffier, and the side-hair thingies longer in homage to his namesake. Kinda like this:

Orrin is pretty much accurate, but did you know that in character creator there's no option for actual red red as a hair color option? I managed to get the idea across with how highlights play with is particular hairstyle, but it still bugs me in certain lights how it still looks... well, pink.

Band... By now I've sort of resigned myself to her just having that horn style, but if I had my way, she'd have had the wing-like horns when I made her (I tried making the face they're linked to work, but it just didn't give that sharp, stern look that I felt was key to the Banadei Experience TM). If SE ever disconnects the horns from the faces, you bet I'm finding an in-character way to change them for her. But for now, pointy horns she keeps. Beyond that, she's a lot less.... curvy, I guess, from the raen models. Still feminine at a glance, but just more... average looking I guess? There's a word for this but it escapes me right now. I also like to think her scales have more of a coppery flash than the in-game gold one for Raen, and her limbal rings are more metallic than they are glow-y. She also has much bigger scale patches on her arms and legs than the dainty ones the in-game model has, as well as a large patch between her shoulders and down her sides (like the male models have. As to why the girls don't get them too I have no idea).

Not many differences on Scrap, really, besides him being kinda scrawny for a lalafell. The most I tend to deviate when I doodle him is more in the clothes than the rest of his features, namely his collar and sleeves and drawing his hat a little smaller but tbh that's just me thinking it looks better that way in my particular art style. (He's on the right in this picture, natch)

Uroko is, like, the one bean I made in CC first before building the character behind him so honestly, he's spot on as far as things go. Like Band, though, I picture him with more scales on his arms, legs, and torso than the in-game model gives him, but less "bigger patches" and more like the large patches being flanked by spots of smaller patches, like dappled sunlight.

most active muse :  i go through phases where i'll have a lot of muse for a certain few one week and then lose their voice the next week lol, and a lot of the muses i have are quite selective because their setting/personality is very specific and can sometimes be hard to tap into. generally, i'm always rarin' to go with jeannie, ingrid, lisa, gideon, heidi, vikram, and taher. (now actually getting people to rp with these hoes is the hard part lmao)

experience / how many years : i don't want to talk abt it... jk, i started in 2005 i believe? on myspace mainly and i lurked a few message boards back in the day but never actually used them. i wasn't always roleplaying though, i'd often take long breaks throughout the years, sometimes for months, but it's been a part of my life for a long time! after myspace shut down, i went on to roleplayer.me until 2015 when one day i saw an rpg promo in devon bostick's tag (that name's a blast from the past, i know) and i subsequently made the permanent switch to tumblr :) so you can pretty much consider me a veteran around these parts. i remember the days when people used the cast of one tree hill when it was actually currently airing as fcs (or playbys, as we called them) and every third muse was named seraphina!!!

best experience : i think one of the best times i had on here was during christmas 2015 in the rpg hell state bc it was very active and i had a lot of good storylines going! the best time i had on rp.me was the group verse i had for a knockoff of terra nova called alia terra, which i actually made into an rpg on here and then made a closed verse between lucia and i so we could continue some dino fun! but i did it on rp.me shortly before i made the switch to tumblr so i kinda roll that all into one. i mean don't get me wrong i've had some great experiences on here, and lately have been having an amazing time with my writing partners, new and old, but those two are events that stick out in my mind. and also meeting lucia in 2015 duhhh of course!!!!!!!

rp pet peeves : honestly i don't want to say bc i don't want to hurt anyone's feelings or discourage people from writing with me lmfao, but i'll just say it has to do with dropping articles and using two certain french words 😬😬😬

fluff, angst, or smut : if i could crush up angst and snort it i would. i don't write smut (just a personal choice, not a judgment!) and fluff doesn't really interest me unless there's an undercurrent of angst or toxicity lmaooo, but i'm mostly interested in genre fiction like horror/slasher or sci-fi anyway and angst is kind of a package deal with those topics

plots or memes : i like to start with a general idea and then just kinda improvise. i also don't mind having structed plot points like going from a > b > c but having the freedom to do what we want in between those points. i also have absolutely no issue with changing or adding things as we go along! i'm basically very hype for anything

long or short replies : i'm a wordy bitch! when it comes to replies, i tend to stick with 2-4 for my 'shorter' threads but i have no issue getting up to 5-9 paragraphs if i'm really feeling something. no worries about matching length, btw, as long as it's not egregious like getting a few sentences in response when i wrote you four paragraphs, because i feel that's just rude. i also tend to start out small and get bigger as we go on, since i do like to begin with a general idea and add on from there

time to write : so before i started my current job, i only wrote at night because writing when the sun was up seemed morally wrong lmfao. nowadays, i sometimes write my replies at work on my google drive and then edit/format them once i get home, but that's only when i work alone and it's not super busy, and i actually have writing muse for that day. after work, i'll get on after midnight since i don't get home until late and need to put on my jammies, take off my makeup, eat dinner, and watch some tv. even on my days off, i most likely won't get on until late in the night because my family actually has the audacity to want to see me during the daylight hours 🙄

are you like your muses : i have a lot of muses that share similarities with myself, but i also have muses i have absolutely nothing in common with, like blair the satanic serial killer or lauren the son of a cult leader turned political campaign manager. more than likely they'll have something random from me like also being allergic to penicillin or they drive a buick like i do lmao, but i don't have a muse i would really consider my 'self-insert' character!

platforms you use: these days, i mainly rp on tumblr or on discord! i used to rp on discord a lot more often, but now that's quite a bit rarer :')

best experience: i'd say my best experiences with rp are just getting to know the people i'm writing with. even if those friendships don't always last forever, it's fun to talk with people and explore the different storylines we can create together! and aside from that, i just love to create fun storylines with other people and explore how these characters may interact!

rp pet peeves: people who don't respect others' rules or boundaries, which thankfully i haven't actually encountered on here but i know that happens. aside from that, though, i guess i really dislike when people just. don't communicate ooc in any way. i love to write with people, but ya' gotta give me something, y'know?

fluff, angst, or smut: all of the above are fun! :D smut threads are the hardest for me to really focus on and connect with (and they only take place on the nsfw blog i've mentioned a couple of times), but i am always down for fluff and angst <3 i prefer to have a good balance of those, though, and not do too much of one or the other!

I'll try to make it short but I warn you now, I'm wordy lol I'm a woman who is bisexual but does have a strong preference for men. I'm an introvert, I like being around my loved ones but I do need space to myself sometimes and being around new people always takes a lot out of me. That's one of the reasons that I tend to hold people at arms length until I get to know them, but once I do I'm a very loyal and dedicated friend (and that goes same when you're my s/o). I think my sense of humor is one of my best qualities, I love making people laugh and Will honestly do some silly stupid shit to make you smile 😂 also, I think a reason I tend to be wordy is that I'm a writer! That's what I'm slowly turning into a career, I love crafting stories and entertaining people with them and I want to make my living off of what I love. I'm creative in other ways too, I cosplay and make decorations for my house as well as my own clothes. I'm just a very creative person in general. As for my love language I... honestly don't know. Probably acts of service just because I've been in a caregiver role so often in my life and do a lot to care for my family, that's actually why I'd love a partner who takes care of me, too. The first person that came to my mind when u read your description was Dick, look, he's a care caretaker at heart but will benefit from someone who also has the tendency to look after others.

I don't mean this in a bad way, this exchange will come out as something pure and natural. It'll be nurturing and beneficial for the two of you to find someone who gives the same care you put into others or looks after you in those days you don't feel like giving anything at all.

Another thing that might be a good thing and a bad thing is that you'll have a lot space for you in this relationship. It's not that Dick doesn't care, of course not, he wants to know you're okay and also make you feel loved.

But he also likes to have his own space to recharge. His job is consuming and so is being the emotional support of a lot of people, he doesn't regret this, but he likes to have his own space sometimes. This usually happens when he's sad tho, and he can leave for days without showing signs of being alive.

Dick is supportive so I can see him cheering you and motivating you to keep writing the stories you love, it makes him happy to see you excited about your craft. He'll read whatever thing you write and even give you a few ideas if you left him.

He can also be a model if you want him to, can you do the new version of the disco wing costume?? He can wear that for Halloween lol
