The Sign (Sat YT) ep 9 of 12 - I love this show so damn much. This may be my KinnPorsche. It’s just so endlessly entertaining in a perfectly unhinged way. I love that they looped Tharn’s dad back into the murder investigations.

You know kinksters have invented necklaces that can’t come off… right? Just saying.

Meanwhile, would it still be BL if our seme didn’t wake up from drowning and instantly go chase snake?

Pit Babe (Fri iQIYI) ep 10 of 14 - How is this absurd creature managing to rise in the ranks? Pavel turned in some stellar grief and ALANJEFF have my whole heart. I make Ikea puns in the... Trash watch happening here.

Cooking Crush (Sun YT) ep 7 of 12 - The make-out montage was absolutely charming and very much American rom com style - interesting (and rare) to see in a BL (not to mention from OffGun. How far we have come since Puppy Honey?)

Meanwhile, another wonderful grandma in a BL!

Next week we do an actual harken back to Puppy Honey, so obviously I’m now enjoying this whole show way more than before. I think it helped that I watched it earlier in the week, when it wasn’t competing with any other BLs. 

Last Twilight (Fri YT) ep 11 of 12 - Not gonna lie, I knew from you all that this was gonna be a rough ep. But I very clearly remember the penultimate Bad Buddy ep so I now have slightly more trust than others in GMMTV on this matter. 

That said, this was a crap episode.

You can’t set Mork’s truth and character motivation reveal up like that and then have his lover choose to dismiss him in a way that diminishes not just both character's growth AND all of Mork's actions towards Day, but also our faith in every other character. It was a shitty narrative thing to do to us, and it was a shitty thing to do to Mork. And that doesn’t even take into account the forgiveness allotted by the story to Day’s unrepentant excuse for a mother.  The doom should have been handled differently. The mom shoudl have leaned in even more evil and actively lied to split them apart.

I don't know if they can redeem this misstep in the final episode. But I'm interested to see them try. That said, this plot seem to be true to the book. 

For Him (Thurs iQIYI) ep 8 of 12 - A major trigger has landed. But also it’s clear who’s fault that incident was... and it’s not Him’s. So Blue's so-called-friend really is unhinged. This episode was a little bit more engaging than last week, but it’s only because stuff actually happened. I’m still not sure I enjoyed it. 

Twins the series (Fri GaGa) ep 12fin - Despite the fact that I’ve been annoyed by the show the last couple of episodes, I’m still sad for it to end. It was a good reveal and First had the right response. Also a very sports way to end it. Sprite is a v clingy bf. 

In brief?

A messy very Thai pulp sports romance that actually managed to involve sports in an identical twins trading-places plot. Basically Not Me meets HIStory 2 Crossing the Line (although vastly inferior to either) with an endearing main character and a good lead pair (poor things), both soapy and earnest without too much camp. It tried so hard but the plot, side couples, and extraneous characters let us down. Passable if not great. 7/10 

Time the series (Thai Gaga) ep 2 of 10 - Eh. Whatever.

Although I Love You and You AKA Sukiyanen Kedo Do Yaro ka (Japan Gaga) ep 2 of 10 - Funny how quickly he retracted that confession and everyone called him out for doing it too soon (including me from a narrative beats perspective). It was a cute screw up - I see what your meta-arse is doing there, Japan. Also our Tokyo-boy’s serious reserved earnestness is extra adorable in the surrounded by Osaka enthusiasm context. His accidental flirting is that much more heart wrenching for our poor baby seme.  And they ended this ep with honorific negotiations!! Be still my heart. I’m really adoring this show.

Your hyung romance super fan is back in the game! 

Meanwhile the Osaka accent is beyond adorable. 

Sahara-sensei to Toki-kun (Japan Fri Gaga) ep 6 of 8 - Japan what are you doing? I do love the not-sorta-ex from the past. 

VIP Only (Taiwan Fri Gaga) ep 10fin - I loved all the young people in the hawker center supporting the campaign against the terrible mother. They make a good domestically sappy couple. But that is Taiwan's specialty.

In brief?

A sweet if aimless story about a writer and a chef finding love via noodles, fake dating, and family challenges. If it had a tighter script and a shorter run, more like a KBL this might’ve been quite special. But it didn’t and it lost me too many times. 6/10

I don’t like to be disappointed by Taiwan.

The Whisperer (Sun ????) 10 eps - Ends next week. Thai horror BL that ALSO involves cheating (what joy is mine). I don't think even the perfect single dimple can motivate me to watch. Word is... it's terrible.

Jack & Joker - Ep 7

This episode was extremely hard for me to watch, because it's like someone took the tropes I hate the most and decided to put them here one by one. Lack of communication, misunderstanding, saying something horrible about a loved one when don't mean it and they hear it, a love triangle, a love triangle with a girl in a BL series, noble sacrifice, noble, stupid and unnecessary sacrifice, being mean for a "noble" purpose to protect a loved one by rejecting them, heartbreaking fights, jealousy, the pain of rejection, suffering alone. I hate every single one of these things and a series that I like so, so much decided to throw them all into one episode, at once. So it's easy to imagine that I'm not having a good time 💀

So many bad things happened in this episode that I started crying at the end, it was just too much. What really depressed me was that many of these things were unnecessarily bad, and there was a kind of malice in them that was hard to watch on screen.

I had some understanding (not excuse - understanding) for Save in the last episode, but then I didn't know all the facts. Now I have only contempt for him, because he is simply stupid and cruel in what he does. Save didn't even arrange something specific for Hope, or even for himself, which is exceptionally stupid, since he literally sold his soul to the devil - as it turns out, for nothing. On top of that, he didn't have to include Joke in his schemes, my jaw just dropped when after everything he did to Jack and his grandma, he himself, without being asked, says to Boss that there is one more dude who can mess with your plans, like bitch fr? Save dangerously plays god, messing with people's lives (in grandma's case - her LITERAL life) and for whom, for his boyfriend who works for the mafia and openly says that he actually likes doing it and unlike Jack - is a real loan shark who beats people (his behavior radicalized Tattoo). Hope was beaten, which is a risk of the profession he does, he wasn't beaten up randomly on the street for money, or bullied at a regular job., ffs! But what Save will never earn my forgiveness for is that for the sake of unclear privileges for his boyfriend 1) he could've killed an innocent person 2) he destroys the lives - and I want to emphasize this - LITERALLY DESTROYS THE LIVES of 3 innocent people. And not that I like Rose, but it also affects her life. Thus, grandma, Jack, Joke and Rose are just pawns, a colateral damage in his plans, for his own personal gain.

SAVE IS LIKE TEE FROM DFF. Sorry, but just as I had no sympathy for those guys, I have no sympathy for Save. He doesn't have to do this, he doesn't have to do such cruel and plainly evil things, he doesn't have to be so zealous, such an "employee of the month doing 200% of the norm" lol. It's very interesting that Save, instead of persuading Hope to leave this job and even run away, since he's oh so worried about him, directs his efforts to protect him, by harming others - others who are in the same or worse situation as he is.

This whole marriage plot is so silly and soap opera and that's how I decided to treat it, so that I could still like this show 😅. Gods, it's just so stupid and when Jack initially didn't agree, I was so happy that finally, a voice of reason, and yet.. I don't know how Boss and Jack imagine doing this? I mean technically and.. just… generally???? How Jack plans to marry a woman he doesn't care about (with potential sex? children????) and at the same time follow Boss's orders, while being, you know, himself??? Not to mention that there is a whole ass person in this puzzle: Rose? And I'm not even mentioning Grandma, who is not stupid - how will she feel knowing that Jack literally sold himself for her health? From Jack's words in this episode, I gather that he is more or less aware of Joke's feelings. And I'm a little upset about the fact that Jack hurts him so much, knowing this. And his "noble motives" do not excuse him, because Jack leaves scorched earth behind him, destroys people around him and HIMSELF. And it will get even worse, because there will be no way out of this situation, in which he is digging himself deeper and deeper, which is what Joke was trying to tell him. Jack does something I particularly hate: he "sacrifices himself nobly" but he is really selfish in this sacrifice, because he doesn't ask if anyone actually wants his sacrifice it's The Sign all over again, fuck. And the fact that he does all this alone, officially, to protect his loved ones, shows that he really doesn't trust those close to him, that they can either help him, or that they could decide for themselves. And although I don't like Rose, Jack is ready to marry her without love, for his benefits, which is... suddenly not so noble, right Jack?

I know that all this is the law of slightly exaggerated TV romances, because if Jack had trusted Joke and his grandma and talked to them, maybe together they would have figured out another way to get money for her treatment, but then again, there wouldn't have been all this drama 🙄

But Jack didn't even try.

And he's really getting to the point where even if he wanted to stop, he wouldn't be able to, and even if he somehow managed to, there would be nothing to save, because everyone would be too hurt by him to forgive him. And he's so blinded by fear and the belief that he's doing the right thing that he doesn't even see it.

The approach of Save, Jack and Joke to situations when they feel they have no choice is very interesting. Save sacrifices others without hesitation, Jack sacrifices himself (consciously) and others (unconsciously), Joke sacrifices himself. Joke is truly selfless in all of this, because he is able to humiliate himself in front of his father for someone he cares about, work for pennies, but legally, as Jack wants, when things are very bad, he still feels duty towards the grandma - a person, who was kind to him. Whatever he does, he's alone in it, he doesn't involve others, any harm falls only on him. Apart from that, he blames himself for everything...

Despite everything that the series has shown in tis ep, and which I actively hate, I cannot but praise the series for a few things:

the actors gave it their all in this episode, especially in the micro-expressions on the faces of Jack, Joke and Save, when you can see that they are trying to hide what they are going through

as always, I have to praise the incredibly accurate socio-political-economic background of the series. That there is always a bigger shark in the pool, the total detachment from reality of the rich and that they do NOT WANT to know this reality and that they don't really care. How easily the poor fall into a spiral of debt, a system of dependency, passivity caused by constantly hitting a wall and helplessness in the face of constant adversity (how Jack did not even consider other methods of obtaining money, but went straight to Boss)

that in reality it's so easy to manipulate the poor, who ultimately harm themselves and each other, which is exploited by the elites. The elites know that it's enough to set people against each other and they will jump at each other's throats, doing all the dirty work for them, while they feast on exquisite dishes in beautiful interiors, in expensive clothes. Tattoo, Save, even Jack, do what is expected of them on their own, and their actions negatively affect… themselves and people like them. This is a very brutal and gloomy conclusion to this series, unfortunately also very realistic. Because the rich, the elites know that a divided, depressed society that lives in fear is easier to manipulata and control. Becasue if Jack, Joke, Tattoo, Hoy, Save and Hope joined forces, they would probably be able to oppose Boss, to come up with something for themselves. And so from the beginning we see how their various selfish actions throw themselves and others like them under the bus. Because really, as sad and awful as it may sound, neither Boss nor even Rose could have done anything if not for the significant "help" from Tattoo and Save

Finally, the most beautiful scene. I really appreciate the choice of shots in this scene, especially when only the hands are framed and the focus is on them, without showing the face… 💖

QL - Currently Watching

🇹🇭1000 Years Old [10/12] - This is dragging and I am incredibly bored.

🇹🇭23.5 [4/12] - This show is incredibly cute and I'm smiling through the whole thing. Aylin is my favourite and I'm hoping against hope for the teachers to become a couple. Make it happen gmmtv!

🇹🇭Deep Night [6/8] - The long shots are killing me but the story is moving fast. There's a surprising amount of good communication and the throuple is almost inevitable a this point.

🇰🇷Jazz for Two [6/8] - This is the first bl show where I read the source material before the show and I wish I hadn't. The changes that were made just don't make sense to me, because I don't see how it serves the story. But putting that aside, the story feels rushed and the pacing is weird. The second couple doesn't read believable with this time frame. Anyway I might edit this post when I watch the last 2 episodes. [EDIT] Completed. Final thoughts here. 🇯🇵Love is Better The Second Time Around [4/6] - Why must you do this again Japan? 6 episodes for this one? I'm not happy about this. This show is so good. I love how the mains communicate, not to mention they are beautiful to watch.

🇯🇵My Strawberry Film[7/8] - I have no idea what this show is about nor it seems does it. Do I care at this point? Nope, not really. Let it be over.

🇹🇭To Be Continued [6/8] - This is getting into The Promise territory and I'm not amused. Another one that is dragging and I like the second couple but they barely have any screen time. I'll finish it because there are only two episodes left but I'll be sprinting to the finish line.

🇹🇼Unknown [7/12] - It hurts so good. The songs were killing me this episode. I really liked the separation, I think it was necessary for them. Yuan seems more mature and it will be interesting to see how it changes the relationship.

QL - Finished

🇹🇭Cherry Magic Th – What a wonderful surprise this was. Tay and New are beautiful together and their chemistry was on point. I really liked how the source material was used here.

🇯🇵Cherry Magic Anime – It was quite faithful to the manga with only a couple of deviations and of course it didn't cover everything but I really enjoyed watching yet another version of these characters.

🇹🇭Dead Friend Forever – It was quite a ride. I specially enjoyed the communal watching of this one and all the theories as more people tuned in. Didn't love the ending but it was better than I thought. Still not over White though. 🇯🇵Although I Love You, and You? - Started great, the middle was meh, and by the end I wasn't invested enough in the couple so even though it ended happy, it didn't make up for the rest of it. 🇯🇵Perfect Propose - Great all the way through. I loved this characters a lot and still think it's amazing how well the time was used here. 🇯🇵Ossan's Love Returns - It's Japan at it's finest. Love, food, chaos, found family and cherry blossoms. What more can I ask for? 🇯🇵She Loves to Cook, and She Loves to Eat - My heart grew.🖤

🇹🇼Anti Reset - This is one of the most frustrating shows I've watched in a while. This started off strange and most of the show doesn't seem to know what it wanted to say about the AI part of it. It drove crazy on a weekly basis. But I thought their chemistry was really good and they are just an adorable couple. These 4 VBL series [Stay By My Side, You Are Mine, Vip Only] were a mixed bag for me. I think Stay By My Side is my favourite overall.

🇨🇳The Spirealm - First of all, Ruan Lan Zhu is absolutely gorgeous and his outfits are always perfection. The visuals are really good. This was definitely not a cheap production. The sets for all the doors are incredible. Talking only about the game, I gotta say the second door was my favourite. The bromance toes the line, but I'm not surprised this was taken down. I think if they'd kiss it would be less obvious than some of their scenes. I'm not going to spoil the ending but if you're thinking about watching here's your warning. A bit after the halfway point it gets incredibly sad and the ending is just heart-breaking.

Dropped 🇹🇭A Secretly Love [3/10] 🇹🇭Kiseki Chapter 2 [2/6] Also haven't started Two Worlds because I'm waiting to know if I should bother. I'm experiencing a bit of Thai bl fatigue so we'll see.

Takumi-kun 1: And The Spring Breeze Whispers (2007) - The editing is choppy as hell and it gets hard to understand the characters motivations. And the acting is not good. Yeah, not a fan of this one. Udagawachou de Matteteyo (2015) - This one is weird. I recently watched Life as a Girl so I admit that the comparison doesn't help this one at all. The idea is interesting but the execution is poor. There's a couple of scenes that are a bit hard to watch. In this particular story I think if we had a bit more insight to the characters motivations it would've helped me connect and feel more invested. In the end, for my particular goal it was fine I guess.

It's been a year of Rose this month. And it's been kinda great. It took me a while to get over my shyness here and I still feel intimidated but it's gotten better. The people in this space have been really kind to me and I appreciate it so much. Thank you so much for the space.

Stuck in horror mansion with the Crazy:b

Horror games. People would love and hate to play it. It's honestly its depend how famous it is or the trail of the game. Honestly five nights at Freddy already made you have heart attack in day 2, you don't think you'll play another game that's fan made for a game you enjoy, ensemble stars.

Basically the fan game which is based on HetaOni but ensemble stars. But there's a lot of twist in this version of the game. It's made cause of the Halloween event of Crazy:b, they thought it be a fun game to make.

The premise of the story is: crazy: b went to the haunted house for test of courage, it gone wrong, terrible wrong. Not only they are stuck in the house, they also need to escape the monster that lurk in the house that's out to kill them. There's also team mode or solo.

You honestly wonder if you can even complete the game when cant even run your Character fast enough to escape the first monster attack. But you heard there's an amazing cgs when you went to certain level of the game, it was so good cause all the maximum quality went to those.

And there seems to be different endings too as well some plot twist for each character route, yes it's somehow a sort of romance in some way as it's horror which is odd. You don't understand the romance feature well Through since you don't think there's anzu or other characters but them. Unless it's BL romance which doesn't include on the game introduction.

You honest don't read too much spoiler from online as you want to experience it by yourself. Which is big mistake as you keep getting your ass killed back to back.

It have been your nth playthrough the game, your playing solo mode and choice the best character that have skill that can find clues faster. Or the fact that you like the character more than others to pick him before anyone.

You stared at HiMeru pixel form in the screen that's looking through the books in the library of the house. Nothing our ordinary happening as your not triggering anything yet.

HiMeru: HiMeru wonder if people enjoy going in this kind of place to begin with.

You read his line, which is odd since you don't saw this before. But then again, you don't reach this far yet.

HiMeru: hmm... It seems that this house is build hundred years ago...

He return to his old line when reading the same book in the game as you continue to make the character look through the books, what if you miss out something again? As you waste your time in the library, there suddenly a loud sound which made pixel HiMeru jump before he went to check it out like it's canon event. You watch as there's a scene again, wondering if the character is dumb for following the scream.

HiMeru: do you think so? HiMeru doesn't think it's stupid.

You stared at the screen, wondering if the character just answer the question you have in mind. But the scene disappear as HiMeru run toward another corner of the house where the other three is. There's a conversation where they said they found someone but before pixel HiMeru see what others meant you suddenly felt your vision blurry as you yawn. It was getting late after all.

As you fallen asleep, you enter a deep dream. In that dream you found yourself in a beautiful mansion. Since it's pretty big to call a house. You roam around the place, wonder why it look familiar. It felt odd that this house seems similar to the house in the game your playing.

Your probably playing too much of the game too dream of it. You told yourself as you went for the front door. When you tried to open It, it's lock and won't badge at all.

O-oh...

"No one can leave once they enter... Don't you know that rule?" You heard a voice spoke, it sound too deep and demonic, it made you fear to look at the person—or devil who speak that. But that voice sound similar to someone you have heard before but it did not cross your mind who it was.

You heard a chuckle as you felt the monster breath is just right on the back of your neck, fear is running mad in your vines, screaming in your common sense to flee yet your body seems to be rooted in the spot.

It's just a dream, it's just a dream... You tried to calm yourself but with your heartbeat that screaming and almost ripping out of your chest, it doesn't feel like it's just a dream...

You heard a chuckle from the creature behind you.

You really should be awake now right? But why are you not waking up?! Wake up damn it!! You scream in your mind. But to no avail, it seems you can't wake up. "Ah—" you felt sharp pain wash over you like a wet dump. The pain brought realize of some cruel. This is not a dream as the devil beside have Rip their bloody clawed hand onto your chest and you look at your heart in their hand before you lost unconscious.

"find who I am and you'll wake up from this hell..." You heard the demon chuckle evilly as you saw them hold your bloody heart, you honestly wonder how your still alive at this point but as you think that, your dead to the world.

"Niki, we told you can't cook someone ok." You heard a voice spoke. "But there's no food in the house and they are not breathing anyway. Don't you know that you need food in order to live?" You suddenly wonder if your hearing it right.

"Hey they are moving...." "Oh man, no food then—ack... Rinne! Stop it!!" You slowly open your eyes and found yourself in the kitchen and it seems that someone is planning to cook.... You? "What bad luck do I have to even meet cosplayer psycho after meeting a demon!!" You cannot help but yelled out your thoughts in the open. another thrilling spirealm update

henlo my friends yes it's that time once again where i tell you what is happening on the bizarrely named drama "the spirealm," i am at episode 25 having shotgunned it all weekend and i have thoughts, opinions, and a gabillion screencaps of ruan nanzhu looking stricken, i finally had to stop taking them because he has the exact same face of devastated yearning in all of them and i was filling up my cloud drive. spoilers ahoy! [parts one and two are here if you even care]

as just mentioned, ruan nanzhu spends his time looking either 1) icily indifferent (when people who aren't qiushi are talking to him and/or dying in front of him, to his vast annoyance) or 2) torn asunder by pangs of desire (whenever he's staring at qiushi, who's babbling obliviously about science or clues or absolutely nothing of any importance whatsoever). here is a representative screencap but he has this look on his face pretty much continually, like he's just been hit by a car. a car of love.

it makes me put my head in my hands and scream quietly, i haven't seen a BL actor who understood the assignment this well since zhang xincheng or maybe even z1l. (who all clearly not only read the novel but underlined it, highlighted it, and stuck in colored post-it notes.) when not busy with adoration, he swans around being magnificent in a frockcoat like he's edward rochester, while lin qiushi trails behind him wearing a fit he got out of the goodwill box in his college dorm.

in spite of being besties with a literal fashion icon, at no point does it ever seem to occur to lingling "hm maybe i should dress a bit more formally for my imminent demise inside the doors"—no, instead he proudly wears his ratty sweatshirt with holes in it. which i sort of think might belong to huang junjie. idk maybe qiushi trusts it, and feels safe in it, hey look at that i made it sad.

massive power couple energy. also notice how their outfits are exact black-and-white negatives of each other, the harper's bazaar wedding photoshoot would have been so goddamn lit.

taking a brief moment for a shoutout to this guy. chen fei i don't even know what your fate will be but i already know you deserved better. not only do you patch everyone up with your veterinary knowledge, but i have seen your unrequited love. it did not go unobserved. you would have been a great partner, you're unimpressed by everything and drink your soy milk with chilling apathy. i'm real sorry the theatre gay didn't love you back. you're too similar i guess.

back to lin qiushi who has the worst case of main character energy since harry freaking potter. somehow the game is about him??? he has trauma??? none of this was in the novel and i'm just pretending it's not happening until it becomes impossible to ignore. in the meantime he continues to sympathize with door ghosts because he's just that nice of a guy. (EXCEPTION: nanzhu literally murdered two competitors bc they threatened his darling, and lin qiushi helped him cover it up. i was appalled for like 5 minutes then i shrugged. it's a cutthroat game, the doors change people. also it's like captain mal used to say: if someone tries to kill you, you kill 'em right back.) i have big Theories about what is fixing to happen but for now i will end by relating that lin qiushi has gone into a door alone, because he wants to butch up and be a better partner for ruan nanzhu. and that would be a great idea and super helpful except that nanzhu IMMEDIATELY WENT OUT OF HIS MIND WITH BLIND TERROR. outwardly of course he gives no signs of this (other than hiring someone to protect his fragile boyfriend, which, if lingling figures this out, ruan nanzhu will be sleeping on the sofa forever).

here he is pushing food around his plate miserably at lingling's funeral pre-solo-door party. everyone is having such a fun time.

and here he is standing in front of the door waiting like a dumb wounded animal. i have a feeling if lin qiushi doesn't emerge at 15 minutes on the dot, nanzhu will simply expire on the spot, like a wolf separated from its mate. maybe that's the end of the spirealm JUST KIDDING, we still haven't gotten to the part where they're on either side of a different door wailing at each other. i really need lin qiushi to stop being such a cheery equanimous little frat boy and START SUFFERING, can we get some mutual pining up in this bitch. (also i need his hair to change in the traditional BL post-wedding hairstyle alteration because i can't remember at this point if huang junjie even HAS a forehead under that vast curtain of bangs)

to sum up, we've had a) sexy handfeeding of lychees b) tender cat fur removal from face and c) stalking your pretty boyfriend aggressively against the wall so you can…offer him a packet of disinfectant. in the novel of course nanzhu bites him and yes xia zhiguang absolutely knows that's what he's supposed to be doing here, we love to see it.

oh and also d) "i'll protect you. i'll protect you forever."

1,036,647 words. \:D/ Which is wild because I write so many short things that I never think of myself as having written that much, but t'would seem writing little amounts in consistent bursts builds up to a lot over time.

Mainly Thai BL right now, and pretty much the same three pairings in circulation. Sometimes I'll write for a shiny new series, but I consistently come back to WinTeam (Until We Meet Again/Between Us), KongArt (SOTUS), and KawiPi (Be My Favorite).

Do you respond to comments?

Yes! I try to do it as often as I can, but sometimes I get distracted, and then I feel terrible about responding late. Believe me, though, I read every one about four seconds after you send it and then spend between five minutes to five years in absolute bliss. I've actually started making a scrapbook of the comments that made me happy for emotionally rainy days.

What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Sooo, this isn't something on my AO3 account, but I once wrote a fic about a guy who died and he was making his rounds to visit all his friends (who couldn't see him). I couldn't end it completely miserably though, so I killed his boyfriend to reunite them! \o/

What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I have! @itsmylifekay has become my multifandom co-writer, as we've co-written WinTeam (1) (2), KongArt, and are soon to start writing a sequel to her incredible Witcher AU KawiPi fic together. :D Our writing styles mesh really well, and we keep each other going off enthusiasm and a similar love for tormenting characters who don't deserve it. <3

What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I truly don't want to answer this because I think I could genuinely finish any of them in the right circumstances. I recently started working again on a fic in my drafts that I started back in 2021 and hadn't touched for three years, so y'know. All of them have potential to be finished!

What are your writing strengths?

Dialogue, humor, coming up with inventive metaphors/imagery. The third thing was a conscious thing I started doing at some point to keep myself interested in what I was writing. Every time I used a common metaphor/simile/comparison, I felt myself getting bored, so I tried to make things up that were just offbeat enough that they still made sense, and then I realized some of them were working better with the character's voice and the story and situation, etc.

What are your writing weaknesses?

Describing settings. I have that aphantasia thing where I can't really envision things. It takes a real effort to see things in my head, and even then, it's not a clear picture. Like if you take the classic "what do you see when you imagine an apple" question, some people see a tree filled with apples in an orchard. I see a red, vague shape of an apple on a black background. So any time I write, my default is emotion and the abstract. It takes a lot of effort to also build a set in the writing.

Thoughts on dialogue in another language?

It can be used effectively, and I use it myself when there's no proper English equivalent and it adds to the story. Like, in my first two or three Thai BL fics, I didn't use any foreign language words, but the more I understood the social hierarchy in Thailand and how much of an influence suffixes have in WinTeam's relationship, I started using them.

What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?

Right now, I think it might be my KongArt fic "Life in Abundance",

Summary: Kongphob's mother has an agenda, and Kongphob can't dissuade her from it. Enter Kongphob's husband.

“She wants a grandchild,” Kongphob says gently. “She has four,” Arthit says. It’s a struggle to sound stern when Kongphob knows the pressure he likes and where he holds the most stress. “She wants a grandchild from me,” Kongphob clarifies. “Right, of course. You’re her favorite.”

With Gatekeeping Kawi as a very close second.

Both fics are about couples navigating their relationships with their parents. The KongArt one is about them trying to gently break it to Kongphob's mother that they don't want children, and the KawiPi one is Pisaeng literally gatekeeping Kawi from his estranged mother to protect him.

One of my favorite things about writing established relationships are all the issues you can explore that have nothing to do with infidelity or jealousy, and parents are a biiig part of that. The other thing is that I have a good relationship with my mother, and a very, very bad relationship with my father, so I have an extra interest in exploring various healthy and unhealthy parental relationships.

Here goes:

Hannibal (nobody is surprised). I'm obsessed with this series, I know dialogues by heart, probably my ultimate favourite. I don't even know how many times I watched it but it's a LOT. Especially season 3, my favourite (where does the difference between the past and the future come from? ... mine? before you and after y- [gets dragged off stage])

Good Omens. I have just recently watched season 2 and it ripped my heart out in the best way possible!! I loved it, very cathartic, can't wait for s3 to fix this mess though 😭

Fleabag. Another TV series that I've watched very recently but moved me in many ways! Really heartbreaking and hilarious at the same time!!

The Untamed. One of the best character development I've seen! I loved how everyone got to explain their side of things, it was very refreshing and interesting to see. ALSO LAN XICHEN IS MY CHILD (and Wuxian obviously, mental illness bisexual king, also shoutout to the best line ever aka: If I am doomed to death, then I could at least be killed by you, that would be worth it 💯💯💯😧😧😧🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 ATE. PEAK ROMANCE)

Killing Eve. I hated the ending but I loved the series for most of it! And I especially loved Eve's journey in this, it was so fascinating to watch her change!

Bad Buddy. Such an amazing TV series aka modern (and gay) retelling of Romeo and Juliet!

Word of Honor. I honestly think this series (similarly to The Untamed) has one of the best character development I've ever seen and it makes up for all its (more technical) shortcomings. I love the main characters and how they do not truly fit the hero archetype! Very refreshing. Heartbreaking in many ways, also fascinating female characters. It's all about unconditional love bro and breaking free of the harmful patterns created by a traumatic past- [gets booed, leaves in shame]

Love is Blind. Had to add in something silly as well 🤣 It's a reality show in which people fall in love not seeing each other. I will never understand straight people, this show is hilarious. I watch it for the memes

Sharp Objects. Incredible show with just the best female characters and allusions to mythology. Deals with a lot of dark topics and has an amazing plot twist! I loved its atmosphere.

Heartstopper. Despite having watched it only recently, I absolutely loved its depiction of queerness! Especially the refreshing treatment of bisexuality, which sometimes is lost even in BL dramas I've watched so far. Lovely!

Do you believe it would have been better for the state of the fandom if CF had ditched any attempts at subtlety and just made it clear and undeniable that it was a villain route?

I don't doubt there'd have been people trying to argue against it even then (Arvis was a hero who did nothing wrong interpretations of FE4's story come to mind), but it'd have significantly reduced how widespread the Edelgard wank would have been; the Fódlan stories themselves would also have been significantly improved if they didn't need to treat Edelgard with kids' gloves at every opportunity, so it'd even work as a 2-for-1 in making the Fódlan games better.

Talking with a friend and musing about this verse - Fe Fodlan has always been about "uwu or not uwu" regarding the Red Emperor, and you can't sell Ashnard slapping his ass (I'd buy it) or Walmart in a nightgown (I wouldn't buy it) in heroes or in Cipher.

That's the, say, spinal cord of the Fodlan Verse, at least, how it was developed by the devs.

So to sell this merch, but also, with the usual brand of sexism and "women can't be BaD", we end up with... a route where you side with Supreme Leader that is extremely white-washed (no angry civilian/random asking for reparations! When Dimitri deals with Flèche!), Rhea roasts babies and they both lose because the plot commanded them to.

To be honest, after taking into account the rest of the game(s) I'm still surprised Tru Piss has so many red flags and clues and general enemy lines showcasing how this route is, well, the one that ends up with deadeyesfish!Billy.

Sure SS was supposed to be the Billy Route, but since Rhea BaD and Church BaD (as you are hammered every time!) it makes Supreme Leader not so BaD - and with Rhea (and the BL!) being a scapegoat to sell Supreme Leader as she was intended, I don't think any amount of subtletly would have saved, not Tru Piss, but the fandom who swallows everything Tru Piss says.

In a way, Tru Piss suffers from two opposites directions, make a villain route - as to not shoot the lore/worldbuilding (SS) - but also, remember to make Supreme Leader sellable. So it couldn't be a villain route, and they tried to fit every mention of it being a "shouldn't have picked that" route in the lore/background/other convos, so they got their cake and ate it.

But yep, Fodlan verse wouldn't be Fodlan verse if Supreme Leader was treated like Ashnard, because Supreme Leader and her "uwu betrayal" were at the core of the Fodlan verse.

Nopes dropped the "betrayal" aspect, but still, she's not supposed to be the clear cut villain - even if her actions, and the world building, and the genocidal death cult she works with say the contrary - so her enemies will be demonified (Dimitri kills people! omg so bad! - and Nopes ends with somehow everyone agreeing to kill Rhea on the Zahras chapters).

Many people already tried to explain why the fandom wank took as it did regarding Supreme Leader - but imo that's what the devs gunned for.

It's no wonder why in the next game, Sombron doesn't sing a jpop song and you can't side with him (willingly!), or why the people turned into zombies aren't sidelined and ignored like Baldo'n'Waldi - we returned to a tradition non wank state where selling alts, cards and tea bags isn't more important than telling a story, regardless of what you think of said story.

Of course we have funny people pushing a Lumera BaD narrative, but it's not to defend of absolve Sombron of any wrongdoing or to treat him with gloves, somehow, it's still used to defend Supreme Leader (that's why those people are funny!).

I'm MJ. I love writing fic and talking about shows with people. I write mostly BL. I am in a few fandoms, but bbs is definitely one I'm still writing (albeit slower lately).

when did you watch bad buddy/join the fandom?

I started watching after episode 2 aired. The name first turned me off. I didn't actually know who Ohm or Nanon was, lol I know right? I enjoyed some Thai BLs but none had hit for me. I saw a gif set of when Pat and Pran were looking at that empty dorm and Pat grabbed Pran right by the thigh and I was like, what the hell, I have to know what is happening there. Except, they were fooling me that this was just a light, silly, flirty show and hit me with such emotional resonance that I haven't freed myself yet. I wrote my first fic at the end of November 2021 and have been writing for them ever since.

I am Pat/Pran through and through. I like other ships too but they are the reason I'm here.

favorite character(s)

I love both Pat and Pran. I like writing more from Pat pov because honestly Pran hits a little too close to home for me. :) All the side characters are fun and that is one of the reasons I love this show - Ink/Pa especially.

favorite episode(s) - these kinds of choices are just cruel but I would say episode 11. The raw emotions throughout it just killed me.

favorite scene (s) - rooftop aside, I recently mentioned the "thanks for trying to make this silly guy happy" scene from 11 as one of my favorites of all Thai bl (it's true), besides that, the scene when Pran brings Pat the drink, Pat tries to offer to say they aren't together anymore, the way Pran initiates them holding hands under the table and the way Pran knows Pat liked his drink less sweet. My heart tugs just thinking about it. <3

one thing you would change about the show if you could

more Ink/Pa would have been so nice and also, stop teasing us P'Aof and give us Wai/Korn

what are some of your favorite fanworks made by other people?

This is absolutely impossible. This fandom has so many wonderful creators in so many ways - art, fic, meta, edits. I think some things just stuck in the brain either because they were given to me because that's what I love about fandom most - the giving - or I was struck by them as they really hit my feels about the show at the time. but this is by no means an exhaustive list and I don't even know how I'd do that.

@geonbaeeee makes all kinds of amazing art, but I loved this one because they are some of my favorite scenes.

when I think of bbs art, I always think of this series. I don't even care about weddings tbh, but I just love how all their personalities are displayed here and I do think this is exactly what Pat and Pran would want haha

@funyasm made me this wonderful mood board for bbs as gift that was a big heart hug

@creativityobsessed wrote the coolest music meta about episode 5 and I still think about it sometimes.

I've been fortunate enough to be given two really wonderful gift fics. @galauvant gifted me Family Ties with some good Jindapat siblings content and triplelovescore gifted me a crack in the foundation with some excellent Pat hurt/comfort. Both were so good at giving the heart a little twist.

(if you create fanworks) what are your favorite fanworks that you’ve made?

I would say if you've only read one work in the fandom by me it's probably Up the Ante. And I do love it, but I think honestly, my favorite might be one of my least read - "I'm here, if you want me," which I wrote in the week between episode 11 and 12 in that "you had to be there" time in the fandom. It was a "if they really did break up let's fix-it" fic. I think it could have actually been a longer AU if I had any patience at all, but I needed soothing in the moment lol. Pat's love for Pran shown in the way we all know he would give it - as self-sacrificing as possible, and Pran's love of Pat shown through his music. It just felt right.

Anyway, I have others too. Honestly, it's like trying to pick a favorite child. Fanworks are works of love and each have their reasons for why I wanted to write them and why I love them.

a song that makes you think of bbs (the ones in the show don’t count lol) ha ha, look, this show has a theme song with multiple versions, a secondary song, another song that is now an in canon Pran-written song, Pat's ourskyy song, the og trailer song, the when we were younger instrumental, when the lyrical version is also amazing, and one of my faves is Keep Coming Back to the Start which we only hear for a tiny bit at the end of episode 6, but is an awesome song. but okay, yeah, beyond that and the instrumentals, I have a whole playlist that includes these and others. many songs come from some of the amazing edits out there. anyway, that's a long answer to mention "If our Love is Wrong" by Calum Scott, which I got from this edit (yes this is a cheat to link another fanwork)

The week of wait wasn't bad at all actually, I was busy with other stuff and watched Cherry Magic TH and ep 8 didn't end on a cliffhanger. Haven't really been spoiled except seeing a hug scene that's apparently sad or uncomfortable (+ the villains are dealt with?). Last two episodes, I hope it sticks the landing!

San acting as if he's giving Vee over to Third after his death?! girl I'm gonna kill San if he ends up surviving

we could've had this San/Vee convo last episode without all this purposeful hiding. San telling Vee that he doesn't feel regret about saving Vee using the stone and Vee telling San that he wants to spend the last days with San. aghhhh

this sad but loving balcony combo about San watching from the sky afterwards ahh why didn’t they give me this earlier

and them doing everything together to make use of the last few days, they truly should’ve not had last episode and the hiding stupidity

Overall:

I think this show had a Very strong first half (or rather first 70% up to episode 7) but the last two episodes were irritating and kind of forgot what the show was about in the first place.

I enjoyed the 120-something year old San and his little family that spans generations, I like San's grumpy nature contrasted with Vee's bright demeanor (despite also knowing pain and suffering), I liked the question of whether Vee is the real Wad reincarnation and theorizing what's going on with him and Wadfah, I liked their romance and the tinge of sexiness, I liked San being cold to the idea of even doing anything with Vee but progressing to fall in love and ultimately choosing Vee regardless of whether he's the reincarnation or not. Great first 7 episodes.

But then for the last 3 episodes, we spent too much time with the flat, one-note villains with ridiculous fight scenes, hiding (ridiculous!!!) the stone situation from Vee and SanVee being separated and not on the same page instead of tackling this together, and no answers to one of the main aspects of the show (is Vee the Khun Wad reincarnation?) - just lipservice of "let the past be the past" as an afterthought. The last pair of episodes had me feeling "okay enough of this" about the hiding and then "that's it?" after it was discovered. Also I wish they dealt with Vee stealing the stone with a bit more idk like consequences/remorse/something because San just believed in him all throughout.

I loved Juu! She was sooo cute and gorgeous and the acting was good, I want to see her more.

So, idk how to rate this because I don't currently have positive feelings because it's been 1.5 weeks since I watched and thoroughly enjoyed the first few episodes but I really did enjoy them.

Given Anime Review

What can I say about this anime it touched me more than I thought it would. I started watching it cause it was a recommendation because liked Sasaki to Miyano however I will say upfront these two are nothing alike. Sasaki to Miyano was light hearted and sweet a true guilty pleasure for me, Given is a sad but sweet anime that will pull at every heart string. It pulled me in on the first episode I wanted to see where the relationship with Ritsuka Uenoyama & Mafuyu Satō. I had no idea what I was getting into as each episode passed I felt such a connection to Mafuyu yet also a detachment all at the same time. I know its weird but I saw grief in him so early on there was this dark cloud over him and I longed to know what made such a beautiful boy so sad. I watched Uenoyama fall in love with him with each episode even when he didn't see it himself. The other band mates were such a sweet connection as well but nothing on these two, they were the center and heart of this anime.

Honestly my heart was not prepared where this anime took me. The more you find out that Mafuya is dealing with a loss of what first seems like a friend before you realize it was someone he was in love with. You don't see much of his past until later in the anime the first parts are honestly about seeing him learn to play the guitar thanks to Uenoyama. Now this was a sight to see at first this shy, aloof kid asking a tsundereish type guitarist to stop and help him when he didn't know how to fix his strings, tune it up, or even play the guitar. I thought it was a nice touch because at first you don't even understand why this kid is walking around with a guitar he doesn't know how to play. This is where later in his story explains it all. You get the idea maybe middle way that he lost someone dear to him that he was in love with. Being its a BL you know it was a guy too, however you don't know more than the person died.

This is where it gets really sad. You find that him and Yuki which were total opposites of each other were together. You also go on to find out their connection to each others was as kids. Yuki found Mafuya because his dad beat him all the time. Their bond as latch key kids made a big difference as well with the other 2 friends they have never understanding them truly. They grew up being total opposites of each other but they loved each other. They eventually grew together til one day Yuki kissed him. They were good together and you hear through the episodes this humming song Yuki would hum which later became the only sound that Mafuya could think of and later what he put lyrics to so he could sing a song. The sad parts is you find out they have a huge falling out and the Yuki goes home drinks himself into a point where he kills himself, and Mafuya finds him. This kind of grief is one of the hardest this is where I understand him so much and I could feel his pain.

The whole anime is leading up to Mafuya writing down his feelings to that sound that he kept in his head because of Yuki. He kept Yuki's guitar and that was all he had left. They never reconciled which was the saddest part. The one you thought that might have killed himself was the opposite, the outgoing kid everyone loved he felt he was nothing without Mafuya. Sad parts about suicide it consumes you that type of depression. From the outside it would look obvious why wouldn't Yuki try again later at reconnecting however the grief he lost the only person who understood him was too much. It was hard to watch in some points being I have been struck with grief this year so its where I understood Mafuya so much, and to feel numb yet at the same time all this pain all at once with no way to really understand or express to someone else. I liked by the end of the season you see him step up to the mic and put lyrics to that sound that he carried in his heart. His words struck a cord in me and I was in tears by the end of it.

I feel like he needed that though expressing how he was feeling, hurting it was his way of saying goodbye even if it hurts, it was his acceptance that he would never be with Yuki again. The worst part is from Mafuya's side I think he felt responsible for Yuki's death and I think thats part of that grief he was carrying. After the show Uenoyama surprised me by walking him off the stage cause he could see how he was feeling but it was sweet. While Mafuya was trying to thank him he just leaned in kissed him soon after he walked away but I think Mafuya needed that he needed to know that he felt for him how he felt as well. Like I can't picture him ever making the first move I mean even Yuki made the first move on him.

These are the other 2 guys in some kind of love triangle doesn't go full in depth but they are all cute side characters. It was still nice having them in the mix though and damn the guy Ugetsu Murata yum he was a hottie. However I scan over it looks like this is all in the manga but since the anime focuses mostly on Mafuya its left out.

Overall I can't imagine most not liking this as long as your ok with BL and suicide is something you can deal with. Now let me correct this they never show anyone dead or anything when you find out about Yuki its kind of a flashback bit all you see is his guitar on the floor and a bunch of stuff on the floor and they talk about how Mafuya found him which I think is what messed him up even more. Now not gonna lie from the little I have read about the manga it does give you more details like in the anime you know Yuki kills himself but you don't know its by hanging himself, you wouldn't know Akihiko and Haruki the other band mates will eventually date, you wouldn't even know the name "Given" was name for Mafuya cause of the guitar given to him from Yuki's mom. Most everything else is in the anime I just wanted to add that so people understand because I do think they should have been added. Anyways I hope you check it out its a really good anime.

I have a bit more time this week and decided to catch up on watching BL series, but whenever I watch 2 episodes, I feel like another 3 new ones jump in their place. Today, seeing the Korean version of Why R U just killed me lol 👀😭💀 I guess I'll never catch up 🤷‍♀️. Especially since very few series really interested me so I feel like I'm dragging. Most are engaging but like "ok, I'm watching, because maybe the next ep will be interesting" or to just see how it ends...

At the moment I am watching the following series (starting with the ones I like the most): Laws of Attraction this series has it all, a beloved couple, an interesting and engaging plot, romance presented at a high and satisfying level. It's perfect, it's what I want, I look forward with excitement to each new episode 💖 Jun & Jun the series started great, it also has a nice couple, unfortunately the last 2 episodes lost "steam" due to the appearance of as many as 2 (!) rivals and devoting LOTS of time to scenes with them, which made the romance fall into the background (you don't do that, as Chains of Heart has taught us). But I think the end of episode 6 got the series back on track 💖 My Personal Weatherman it's actually quite nice, very old school yaoi Hidden Agenda hm, I don't know what it is about this series, but I enjoy watching it, although it has many flaws. I guess I just like actors 😎 Love in Translation It's only the first episode, but it's looking good. I like the main couple (especially Offroad, I liked him a lot in Our Days). The trailer suggests a nice series, although the Step by Step trailer also suggested it will be good (it wasn't), so I'm optimistic, but cautious 😉 Kiseki: Dear To Me the series so far is trope after trope, cliché after cliche, and all the old school yaoi manga i've ever seen packed in one product. And we see so many familiar faces! It's fine. Love Class 2 it's fine. Be Mine Super Star I just don't feel Ashi's emotional commitment to the relationship, also the series itself is very silly. And I keep waiting for a good script for JaFirst. They were almost there in Remember Me. They just deserve something good, not another series "feeding" on their good chemistry Only Friends I've only watched the first ep so far, and I'm waiting for the right mood to watch the next ep. TBH I'm not really interested in this one, might drop it if the second ep feels the same as first 🤔 Wedding Plan I also only watched 1 or 2 episodes. I WANT to give it a shot, but the plot, which I understand is pretending to be getting married to hit on a wedding planner instead of just going out with him like a normal person, is so incredibly stupid and cringe to me that I had to take a break lol As I mentioned, I WANT to give this series a second chance, I like the couple, but it may take time, I have to be in a special mood for it 😄 Stay by my Side dropped Stay with Me dropped, but maybe I'll come back to it someday :) Why R U I honestly couldn't even get past the first episode

I plan to watch Dinosaur Love and maybe Dangerous Pleasure, although I'm not a fan of PerthChimon pairing.

There are so many series, but in my opinion quantity does not translate into quality. There were times when there were fewer series, but actually more of them pulled at my heartstrings and I spent hours on tumblr reading awesome meta and experiencing, analyzing meaningful scenes, words, gestures. I don't have it now. Only LoA does that to me, a bit of Jun & Jun.. it breaks my heart, that one wonderful BL, Sing My Crush, aired all at once recently, making it easy to overlook and not getting the recognition it deserves. Idk... I just want to be emotionally (and a bit intellectually) invested 🥺 OR JUST HAVE FUN 🥳

Very nostalgic ship for me. This was practically my entrypoint into the world of shipping as a whole TBH. My first contact with it came through the 2006's era of AMVs, and ship tribute videos. I may no longer be into STH, but I still hold this ship very dearly to me.

6) Solid Snake / Samus Aran - Smash Bros.

It's another trip through memory lane. Similarly to Shadikal, I also got introduced to Snakus via those old AMVs. Although, I was a bit older by the time I learned about this ship, than I was with the latter. By the time I had taken my very first step into Deviantart, and I remember spending HOURS scouring the website, for anything and everything related to them. Good times lol

5) Alucard / Richter Belmont - Castlevania

If those ships were my entrypoints into shipping in general. This one was my entrypoint into yaoi/mlm/BL ships. This ship isn't ranked higher because, I have a funky story with it. From my enjoyment of it being quite flaky, from going on and off constantly. At the time I learned about it, it coincided with the peak of the whole Seme/Uke tropes, which practically killed the characters to me. It was bc of that type of character portrayal, that drove me off from reading fanfics altogether.

4) Dawn/Barry - Pokemon

Whenever I say that Shadikal was my introduction into the world of shipping, what I really mean is that... I'm unsure who really takes the cake on that. As seeing how back then I was into both Pokemon AND STH, so I came across ship videos to both Shadikal and Twinleafship at around the same exact time. Anyway, gen 4 as a whole is very nostalgic to me, so ofc these two are also very special to me.

3) Priest Mahad/Priest Seto - Yugioh

It's way too funny how much I fell in love with this ship, at the very end of my interest in YGO. I just think they have a good chemistry....... I promise it is there, somewhere. I'm dead sure, I clinged onto YGO for only a little longer, because of those two. And here we have a proof of my love for small and mostly unknown ships, in most fandoms I land myself in.

2) Plo Koon/Commander Wolffe - Star Wars

Sorry Fandom, I didn't catch the memos on the babyfication of Wolffe and the rest of the 104th clone legion, neither was I interested in seeing people's daddy issues that they are projecting onto Plo Koon. I was really disappointed to see how little romantic content there was of these two, bc ppl decided to do that with them, for some reason lol. I'm in the trenches with these two. Also, these two were the reason I got back into reading fanfics LMAO.

I think what really hit the nail in my brain about these two was learning how, even one of the former directors for some of the episodes within the Hades arc, also enjoys these two and has posted some of his drawings of them. To me, that's almost as good as making them canon (and let me clear, regardless of whether or not they're canon, it wouldn't affect my enjoyment of these two).

I'm just happy the Brazilian guy is tied to a popular ship, and is gaining love via it.

I like these light novels, but I don't have a ton to say. Would recommend if you're REAL into jewelry, or you like descriptions of pretty boys.

Star Trek: The Next Generation - Sins of Commission by Susan Wright

This ended up being a really enjoyable book! I read it mostly because I wanted info about one random minor character, (Jono Endar - star of a single TNG episode) and I heard he was mentioned in this one. He was, there was a touch of lore for him, loved all of that, but I ended up really loving the plot of this book, as well. It's a very tense story about the Enterprise going to assist a planet with an environmental crisis, which all gets worse when aliens who have an uncomfortable control over emotions come to stay on the Enterprise. It's a great book, with really good characterization of Riker and Beverly. Also at one point Geordi is pissed at Data and Data calls this experience "exhilarating". Hoo-boy.

Star Trek: The Next Generation - The Q Continuum by Greg Cox

I enjoyed this one as well. Set post-finale, this is a trio of novels (I read it all in an omnibus) about a foe from Q's past returning to plague the universe once again. The Picard/Q relationship here really shines, but I think Beverly gets a lot of great character moments too.

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - A Stitch in Time by Andrew Robinson

Not to hardcore flex on anyone, but I've got a physical copy of this one. Thank you to my brother who got it for me.

Anyway, Andrew Robinson's famed chronicle of Garak's life, told in his own words. I think I'm gonna need more time to digest this one properly, but I really enjoyed it. (Also, Garak's slams on Dukat were funny. I clapped when the Cardassian with the super long neck was introduced.)

MANGA/COMICS:

Killing Me by Akiyama, Vol. 1

A fun vampire yuri comedy. A vampire hunter finds herself entangled with a vampire that goes to school with her, unable to kill her, no matter how hard she tries. Short 'n sweet. I don't think I'm going to pick up volume 2, but volume 1 ends on a nice note, so that's fine.

Phantom of the Idol by Hijiki Isoflavone, Vol. 4

Another volume of my favorite current comedy manga! POTI consistently manages to bring in great new elements and evolve relationships in interesting ways. Huge recommend.

On or Off by A1

This is a Korean webtoon, adapted to print form. A manager of a company that's creating an app for a much larger company ends up sexually and then romantically involved with the Large Company's CEO. A cute story, good art, and notable for BL, features lots of women, which always makes me super happy.

Ordinary Crush by Hyouta Fujiyama, Vol. 1

A BL anthology. It kinda sucks, as a lot of the old JUNE manga kinda does. I don't know why I keep buying these.

Oshi no Ko by Aka Akasaka

The story of a gynecologist who ends up doctoring to his favorite idol during her pregnancy. This story, however, goes so off the fucking rails I can't even describe it. Don't look this one up, just read it. It's insane.

Requiem of the Rose King by Aya Kanno

A weird manga, a historical fiction about the Real War of the Roses that Really Took Place. I enjoyed this manga, the art was beautiful, but perhaps the most interesting element was learning that the author was the creator of one of my roommate's favorite shoujo manga, Otomen. Cool!

Sotus by Bittersweet

A BL about a Thai university which features hazing as a major part of it's culture. This was a little uninspired, so we'll see if I read more.

Tokyo Alien by NAOE, Vol. 2

Pretty generic shonen sci-fi action, but I'm gonna keep reading! It's got enough there to keep me hooked.

Witch Hat Atelier by Kamone Shirahama, Vol. 4

Another volume of Witch Hat Atelier! This story is always fantastic, and I really enjoyed the character development in this one.

i'm SO glad you're watching bad buddy because it's a MASTERPIECE. ohm and nanon's acting is impeccable. this last episode?? it has so many good moments!!! the domestic part at the start, pran smiling bc he thinks pat is hella cute, pat laughing at pran's password XD, THE "no one has this scent of smell like you" JESUS FUCK, ink teasing pat about pran when she found them, pat's slow realization of "oh, i like him. i really do", pat being jealous of wai! but also never ever getting angry at pran or hurting him. all that fourth part was so INTENSE, the confrontation scene was so so so well-done, like even when pat was drunk he never intended to hurt pran. the only reason why he's being so serious and demanding is bc he's so desperate for pran to admit there's something, ANYTHING between them. he just needs pran to say it. he's broken and desperate and he couldn't care less about wai watching them, he just wants pran to say it. and then the fact that pran is all worried bc wai is there and pat just loses it bc "what? are you afraid he would find out? do you care about him that much?" im SCREAMING, everything was so so sooo well-done. AND THE KISS SCENE!!! it absolutely killed me, i'm still shaking. never recovering from this. i could write an entire essay on all the emotions and feelings i experienced while watching that scene, and about all the visceral feelings that you can FEEL pouring out of them, and the reactions and gestures and expressions during the kiss. but that would be too much. just. i was too overwhelmed in that scene. it's been a while since i felt like this. it's such a good work of art <3 ohmnanon are truly gems and as always p'aof's works are always masterpieces <3 2gether, dark blue kiss, he's coming to me, a tale of a thousand stars... every single one is amazing. i'm glad i'm watching this and that you are too <3 (btw if you haven't watched his other works such as the ones i mentioned i highly recommend them!!! every single one of them are otherwordly and worth of so much praise!! 2gether is fluffy and happy and soft, dbk is angsty but it has so many sweet, adorable moments and petekao/sunmork are going to melt you and stay with you forever, hctm is a tragic, unique, gentle and lovely masterpiece that will touch you deeply, and atots is incredibly well-written, it teaches so many life lessons and the chemistry is outstading and it's soft and it's angsty and emotional and visceral and heartbreaking but also breathtaking and it has one of the best written characters i've ever seen [tian my son my baby the love of my life is going to be forever in my heart, one of the best characters i've watched including all the shows i've ever watched], you're gonna love it from beginning to end. so really just watch every single one bc each one is strong in different aspects but they're all terribly good!!! <3 p'aof never fails!!).

Before kissing scene, I was so into their fight moment. When Pat said "come here", I'm sure it was for Pran, not for Wai. He was like " Please come back on my side, you should sing that song only with me, you don't belong next to him but next to me" sdjvbsdjkvbsdjkvbvjh MY FEELINGS!!! let's not forget how their acting there was amazing too!! I couldn't take away my look from Ohm face how good he was at portraying Pat's emotions.

I think one whole essay wouldn't be enough to describe how we feel about that kiss. I'll just tell you, I had to call my friend and talk about that kiss with her for whole 2 HOURS AHAHAHAHAH. But I was shaking and sweating so hard. How many bls I have watched and I think NO ONE GOT ME AS THIS ONE!! This is the best kiss E V E R!!! They showed not just to us, but to another actors how they should to their job😎 I always hated those cringe kisses where they just press their faces together and stand like that, not moving for whole 2 minutes 😒😒🙄🙄I appreciate everyone's job but come on. Among them, the best is A tale of a thousand stars. It was smth refreshing from all school and uni plots, I loved every second of it.

If you didn't watch and I doubt cuz they are also one of the best things in BL, watch " I promise you the moon " and their second season too. Their emotions reminds me a lot on BBS. Those two shows really did a great with chemistry and looks and asjcbhjbs everything!!! Nah hahahaah, don't be sorry!!!! You can always come to me and scream about bl shows ahahha, I'm always open for conversations XD And not just you, but anyone.
