“ hello? is anybody there?” { Emmett for Erin }
supernatural s1ep17 sentence starters
This literal haunted house attraction was beyond creepy. Even more haunting somehow in its abandonment than it likely was when it was a functioning piece of the amusement park and Erin didn’t scare easily. Then again, this was vastly different from all the Halloween functions they went to because those were all illusion and simulation. None of it was actually real.
As laughter sounds from the next room, Emmett takes the lead as Sammy nominates him for the job. However, Erin shoots her arm out to stop him. “Wait. Why are we following the creepy laughter? This is literally how people die in horror films.” She says, realizing how much she sounded like Sid right now. She didn’t like it though.
“This isn’t a slasher film, Erin. It’s ghosts and Hollywood rules don’t really apply here,” Sam argues. “We have to investigate and figure out this clown’s deal so we can figure out how to cleanse this place.”
Erin sighs, still not liking it. Sammy was the expert on this though. He did this all the time with his girlfriend and best friends, and she too had seen him in action at Camp Hell. “Okay, fine.” She says before taking her twin’s hand and looking to him. “But I’m not letting you take the lead alone. We go in together. Sammy, stay close behind us so we can protect you.”
With everyone in agreement, they slowly moved toward the next area of the house. It was the scene of an old cemetery, the tombstone props broken and some graffiti’d over. It was even more eerie than the chapel though because it was foggy. There were no machines or power in here and they were indoors. It was creepy.
“I don’t like this,” Erin comments before the laughter sounds again, this time louder, and she clings a bit tighter to Emmett. “What do we do? Do we say something?”
“ hello? is anybody there?” Emmett tries.
Something falls over with a loud thud to their left, startling all three. “What does that mean? Is it angry?”
“It might be trying to communicate with us,” Sammy answers as he starts digging around in his bag again. He pulls out something familiar, like the radio from Camp Hell. It was a Spirit Box. The last time they’d used it, the spirit had pretty much taunted them before acting maliciously toward Ryder.
Their little brother fusses with some buttons and dials on it for a bit before holding down a button on the side. Erin and Emmett went quiet as he did his thing. “Can you hear me?”
“Yes.” A small but crackly voice answered back. It sounded like a young girl.
“Will you tell us your name?”
“Margaret.”
“Are you a good spirit or a bad one?”
“Good.”
They collectively breathed a sigh of relief.
“Did you lure us in here for a reason?”
“Yes.”
“Were you one of the people killed here?”
“Yes.”
“Can you tell us what happened?”
“The clown.”
They all froze, sharing a look. “What does she mean by that? I thought they caught the guy who did it.” Erin whispers to her siblings, but they were both equally as confused. Sam got back to it.
“What about the clown?”
“Bad.”
“How bad?”
“Murderer.”
Sammy lowers his Spirit Box and Erin could see the wheels spinning as he started putting some pieces together. Then the light bulb seemed to go off as he lifted the box to speak into it again.
“Thank you, Margaret.” He turns to his siblings now to explain. “When I was doing all of my research on this place, one of victims was this little girl named Margaret. She'd been the youngest of the victims. All the articles I could find stated that John Harmon, one of the ride operators who worked here, was caught and charged with the murders. He later died in prison,” he starts before coming to his conclusion. “But what if he didn’t act alone? What if he had an accomplice and the accomplice was never caught?”
