"Did our little Sai-Sai get himself in trouble?" Kitamura knows its bad to tease Jono on the extremely rare case the younger messes up, but he honestly can't help it. It's rare after all and Kitamura needed to rub salt in that wound as much as possible
After all, Jono would do the exact same should the occasion arise. And to Kitamura that was fair.
"If you sit and roll over, I promise to help."

Coaster Maynia 2024 Day 7 - OUTLAW RUN
“The exhausted outlaw came to a halt, ducking in between the Saloon and the shop, hoping to stay hidden from the relentless sheriff. The outlaw gasped for air, winching at the pain in his legs. A moments rest, he prayed it would be enough to slip into the shadows and out of this good for nothin’ town! How dare they call the sheriff on him for only taking what he deserved! Nevertheless, he hadn’t been caught before, and he sure as hell wouldn’t let that start here! Just another deep breath and…
The sound of hooves tapping almost impatiently behind him stopped him from exhaling. He slowly turned his head, his teeth gritting into a forced smile. “Ah, hello Sheriff? Having fun?”
The horse stomped, almost seeming irritated by the Outlaw’s snark. “Easssy Silver,” the sheriff cooed, warmly smiling at his horse, and then to the Outlaw. “Now now, we can end things here if you just come with me, your hurt, running will only make it worse.”
“Tsk, you really are on your high horse ,huh? You think I’ll let someone from a pathetic town like this take me in? You’re not even on the map!”
“Pathetic huh? Maybe if you’d give this place a chance, you’d see its full of good people, maybe it would help an outlaw like you change your ways hmm?”
“Pah as if! This is the Wild West, not a fairy tale!” The Outlaw got to his feet. “You want to take me in? You’ll be throwing a limp body behind bars!” He stumbled off once more.
The Sheriff grinned. “The game goes on. C’mon Silver, I think it’s time I stopped going so easy on this fella….he doesn’t seem to want to change, and I gave him plenty of chances!”
“Ahaha as if I want your chan—“ The smug outlaw suddenly dropped his facade as his leg gave out under him, and he stumbled over his own feet. He groaned and looked up, to see a raging steed just inches from him, her rider swigging his lasso….”
Had so much fun with this design and story! I actually consulted a friend who had been to Silver Dollar City for his perspective of the ride to help with this design, thanks for that Jono!! Also if anyone recognized the Outlaw design from last years Coaster Maynia…you get a cookie!

Well now I’ve done it.
It’s finally happened. I knew this day would come.
Putting this biz under a cut because it’s a lot. Content note: I am a terrible person and this shit is hilarious to me.
Someone wrote this reblog of my “Tell me what you want” post. Not going to link because I’m not interested in sending this person any more traffic.

CAPTIONS for the benefit of my visually impaired readers:
Did OP just say that Tywin wasn’t guilty of the murder of Elia Martell and her children? What?!
Tywin’s actions of allowing the rape and murder of Elia and her kids were a war crime. It was a war crime back then as it is now. Ned Stark condemned Robert and Jon Arryn so much for not punishing Tywin for his actions that Ned fell out with Robert over that for over a year. In fact, 17 years later after the act, Ned still distrusted and mislikes the Lannisters despite the time that lapsed between them and that he still went to war with Lannisters at his side.
It’s funny how OP crucified the Martells for seeking vengeance and justice for the unnecessary murder of Elia, but doubt they would do the same for Robb Stark for seeking vengeance and justice on the Lannister for decapitating Ned Stark. And Ned publically admitted to his charges who would, in the world of aSoIaF, still be justly executed. I doubt OP judged the Karstarks of wanting vengeance against House Stark for killing Rickard Karstark despite his crimes. It’s funny OP brings up Jonos Bracken, a House famous for constantly warring against house Blackwood for some slight done way in the past. Doubt OP judges them for the right of wanting vengeance on each other for generations long. Oh no, it’s only the Martells who have to admit that it was meh what Tywin did and just move on with their lives.
Bringing up Viserys like Doran wanting a Targaryen restoration isn’t exactly what would hurt the Lannisters (and by extent the Baratheons) the most. Doran doesn’t hold Viserys by the actions of Aerys the same way he doesn’t hold Myrcella for the actions of her mother and grandfather. They were children and not active of the crime. So OP’s point of that is moot.
The Martells deserved justice. And Robert Baratheon failed to give them that. Tywin lived on and was rewarded. The Mountain and his men lived on and were rewarded. Ned Stark himself was so disgusted even with that rewarding of men who were war criminals, that he lived secluded in the North without speaking to his once best friend and now king for about 15 years. No justice was owed to the Martells for so long that Oberyn broke plans and went on ahead to seek it himself.
OP you’re not the first to act this way and you’re definitely not the last so, just admit you’re racist and hate the Martells nor care for them and go. Don’t need to fill the Martells nor Elia’s tag with nonsense when you most likely not hold the same standards to the other houses. House Manderly killed the Freys as guest at their seats in the name of justice for the murdered Robb Stark, where are your “so-called” metas there for how they shouldn’t want justice for those deaths. It wasn’t just the Freys who had a hand in that murder but, guess what, Tywin Lannister who still continued to do war crimes bc he got bested by a 15 year old.
On top of all your nonsense, you’re regarding everyone’s sense of justice through the lens of someone in the 21st century. In the (medieval-ish) feudal world of aSoIaF, things aren’t as simple as you make them out to be, other than the fact that you’re unfair to the Martells, wrong entirely about the Lannisters and plain out stupid for disregarding what the text is clearly saying.

#seen your bullshit before and didn’t want to say shit but goddamn you’re not only annoying but you’re WRONG too
#mr. Martin pls release your books already so these fools can shut the hell up
#I’m tired of people misinterpreting your work mr. Martin pls
#imagine someone out there actually DEFENDING Tywin fucking Lannister??????? are you... are you alright?
#pfft. goodbye son
Yep, there it is.
I only criticize the Martells because I am a racist! Now I can die happy.
Not that I’m gonna stop this biz any time soon, mind.
What really makes this response *chef’s kiss* beautiful is the part where they openly admit that they assume I would never write comparable criticisms of people like Robb Stark, Rickard Karstark and Jonos Bracken.
When you ASSUME, you make an ASS of U and ME.
(Although I feel just fine.)
The decision goes like this: they haven’t read any of my posts outside the Martell criticisms, they’ve hardly read most of my Martell criticisms outside this one post, and they’ve only skimmed this one post enough to see me making this defense of Tywin Lannister:
I’ve said it before: Tywin Lannister was a monster. It is known. That doesn’t mean 1) that everything he ever said and did was wrong, 2) that every single accusation against him was accurate, or 3) that every vendetta against him is righteous.
(clearly I’ve lost my mind)
...so they just decide that I could not possibly have similar criticisms of other ASOIAF characters, which means I’m singling out the Martells, which means I hate brown people. And we know I must not have written about those other characters because we’ve already established that I’m a filthy racist who just resents the Martells.
I’ve been writing ASOIAF metas on this blog for years. The overwhelming majority of my analysis doesn’t appear in the Martell or Elia tags. In fact I have written critical metas on Robb Stark, Rickard Karstark, and the Brackens & Blackwoods. (It’s true I may not have said much about Wyman Manderly.) Not to mention I’ve written copious meta on the many horrors of Tywin Lannister. I’m no stranger to Ned Stark’s argument with Robert about the “dragonspawn.”
I don’t like having to repeat myself.
If I dropped a list of links to my posts slamming the Westerosi McWhitersons for their jackass throne-gaming and blood-feuding, then would they stop telling me to shut up and go away?
Nah, they’d just shift the goalposts again. They always find a way.
That last bit about my “21st century worldview” is such a perfect sphere of ridiculousness I won’t sully it with my greasy fingerprints. Just let it sit there and shine.
Oh, and those tags. Oh, dear. I may be a disgusting racist piece of shit for examining this story; I’m not the one writing it. GRRM is not on your side. If you expect the last two books to vindicate the Martells, it’s gonna hurt. It’s gonna hurt like a bath in dragonfire.
Stay mad, comrade. Your hate makes me stronger.

it’s 1 am. here’s one deep ish musing/headcanon for every muse, part 1.
Tumblr media
TWAIN: a lot of people think he’s chasing things, and he himself thinks he’s running from or towards something, but his life is actually more like drifting along down a river, stopping where he needs to stop. he’s not sure if the river ends, and he likes the journey so much that he’s not sure he wants it to.
TETCHO: words are so much easier when they’re written down. he doesn’t say much when he doesn’t have to, but he thinks a lot. he likes to read his own poetry aloud because it expresses more than he can normally. jono used to make snide remarks about it, but jono is his favorite person to read to now.
MARGARET: she was never passive, but she always spent time on balconies looking out onto the horizon, wondering if she’d be able to see tomorrow from there. she never did.
GOGOL: killing doesn’t make him feel guilty anymore, but the one thing he feels like he shouldn’t kill are birds. he does anyway, since he wants to experience that guilt and become so numb to it that he doesn’t feel it at all anymore, but he feels like he won’t when he no longer cares anyway.
NATSUME: when you’ve been around for a long time, you’re split between despising humanity and cherishing the good in it. he’s split himself apart from the world and the troubles entirely.
RANPO: sometimes, he thinks there will never be anything in this world that satisfies him. every case is too easy, every person is too stupid, and even the smart ones are no match for him. he brags about it during the day. he worries over it in the night.
MUSHITARO: there are things people can never get over, no matter how many times they say they have or days they let go to waste. but some things are worth moving on for.
AYATSUJI: the light burns his eyes when he goes outside. it’s always so dark in his office. he wouldn’t have it any other way.
KAJII: in this world of science and god, there is nothing more real than that which can be experimented on and the experiments themselves. every new ounce of data, every new variable thrown in, makes him feel alive.
LOVECRAFT: the humming the humming the humming the humming the humming the humming the humming the humming the humming the humming the humming
KATAI: there is no place in the world more safe than somewhere he already knows. the only place where he is himself is here.
SHIBUSAWA: they wonder if things were exciting to them, once. they wonder how many times they have died and returned, and died, and returned. they never remember until it’s too late.
KARMA: every day is horrible. every night is horrible. there is no way to leave, no way to cry out for help. the collar bites into his neck like it’s choking him, and he thinks maybe it was designed to make him feel like he’s constantly suffocating. maybe he deserves that.
AGATHA: the sound of the piano is faint, and the sound of tea being poured is not. this is how you like it.
GIDE: can he be alive now? could he decide to live after all he has done and all that has been done to him? there is one last chance to put his gun down.. and he pulls the trigger.
LUCY: she’s gone, now, but sometimes when she wakes up she expects to be lying on a cold floor, hands and fingers and feet aching, new scars on her stomach and back where they can be covered by clothes. she never is, but she expects it.
OCHI: some wars never stop, even when they’re through. fighting changes everything about one’s worldview, even if it looks like they haven’t changed at all. there is no leaving a war, especially for the heroes of it.
DOGRA MAGRA: she wants to curse them and curse them and curse them until nobody is left to hurt the only person that matters.
AKUTAGAWA: he is a hellhound. his teeth rip through every person they must and though he has promised not to kill, he still is a dog tearing up a person in a bout of hunger, or defensiveness. he hates dogs.
YUZU: when she was younger, she used to dream that a prince charming would take her away from this pit of a city. she’s going to take herself away from it, now.
STEINBECK: it is an obligation of those with fortune to help those with nothing. the world’s problems could be solved if people were kinder, but he refuses to be kind to those who should have given him something.
POE: sometimes he wonders if he will ever stop writing. it’s never perfect, always a word out of place or a line that is wrong. it never gets fixed. everyone else praises it. he hates that line.
DAZAI: there’s nothing he’s hiding behind the bandages but an idea of what he would like to be hiding. it is so much easier to pretend that the past leaves physical scars.
Q: they don’t understand anything except that the world is big and it will consume them. they don’t know if they even want to see it anymore.
TERUKO: bloodshed is fascinating, but it’s not the blood she’s after. breaking people apart piece by piece is endless entertainment. a morbid hobby for a child, but she isn’t.
VICTOR: there’s always something more to do, something to discover, someone to dissect, someone else to put together, and is he even a doctor, anyways?
HUCK: as far as standing out goes, he’s the least of the bunch, he says. there are people who go on much better adventures, he says, like he wasn’t there with them the whole time.
KENJI: if he stops smiling, his friends will lose hope! and there’s nothing worse than that!
FITZGERALD: rarely does he recount how he arrived here, but he often muses, during parties of his own and glasses of champagne tossed back without worry, and buying more things than any ordinary american man should be able to afford in a decade, he rather likes being where he is.

That  wasn’t  possible.   These  Hunting  Dogs  were  built  like  tanks  -  that  which  crippled  the  ordinary  (  and  less  than  ordinary  like  himself  )  hardly  scratched  them.  Nothing  ever  seemed  like  it  ever  bothered  them.  But  whatever  had  just  happened  -  one  minute  Jono  was  standing  and  the  next  he  was  crumbling  to  the  ground.
“  JONO !  “  A  scream  tore  from  Sigma’s  throat  before  he  could  even  think  about  it  ,  and  suddenly  he  was  flying  across  the  distance  separating  them.  He  didn’t  care  about  the  danger  ,  didn’t  consider  what  something  capable  of  hurting  Jono  might  do  to  someone  like  HIM  ,  it  wouldn’t  have  mattered  even  if  he  had.  Nothing  mattered  more  than  getting  to  the  Hunting  Dog’s  side.  The  wind  stung  his  face  as  it  seemed  to  try  to  keep  him  away  but  he  pushed  forward  until  he’d  made  it  to  Jono’s  side.
Trembling  fingers  brushed  over  Jono’s  cheek  before  carefully  cradling  the  other  to  his  chest.  Blood.  It  filled  the  air  ,  clogging  his  senses.  What  did  he  do?  He  had  no  idea  if  the  same  treatment  for  an  ordinary  person  would  work  on  Jono.  But  he  had  to  try.  Tears  welled  in  the  eyes  as  slim  fingers  pressed  to  the  bloody  wound  to  apply  pressure.
What  god  was  so  cruel  as  to  take  away  the  healing  hand  that’d  been  helping  him  ?  What  god  thought  he  deserved  to  suffer  ?  Had  his  existence  filled  with  tragedy  not  yet  satisfied  the  hunger  of  the  gods  ?  What  more  had  he  to  give  ?  Not  Jono.  Not  the  one  source  of  happiness  in  his  life.  Anything  but  Jono.  He’d  suffer  an  eternity  more  so  long  as  Jono  survived.
“  Jono  ?  “  His  voice  came  out  as  a  shaky  whisper  ,  clutching  the  other  close  to  his  chest.  No.  He’d  defy  the  gods  if  they  tried  to  take  Jono  ,  consequences  be  damned.  “  Can  you  hear  me  ?  “  Where  did  one  even  take  an  injured  Hunting  Dog  ?  Surely  not  some  ordinary  hospital.  Silver  eyes  flicked  to  his  own  now  bloodstained  hand  as  he  pressed  to  slow  the  bleeding.  “  You’re  going  to  be  okay  ,  alright  ?  I’ll....I’ll  get  you  help.  “  Somehow  ,  or  else  he’d  never  forgive  himself.

@praevari asked
talk about each of the hunting dogs
OCHI:
How I feel about this character
i like ochi! he’s my second favorite hunting dog, and i greatly enjoy the narrative going on where he’s helping out the armed detective agency (i was worried he would just be a shallow antagonist when the info was revealed that law enforcement couldn’t see the ADA as innocent according to the Page). i think he’s one of the most interesting characters asagiri has conceptualized.
All the people I ship romantically with this character
just fukuzawa, right now. i’m open to other ships, but it’d be pretty difficult, all things considered.
My non-romantic OTP for this character
him and tetcho, i’d say. i really love the concept of a father-son dynamic with the two of them, and it seems like they’re both very focused on justice rather than the thrill of their jobs.
My unpopular opinion about this character
i think he’s literally better than all of the introduced rats and decay of angels members combined.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
i would like to see ochi fight! he’s the only hunting dog we haven’t seen actively in combat, so far!
TERUKO:
How I feel about this character
honestly? i may muse her, but teruko kind of interests me the least out of the five of them. i don’t dislike her or anything, and writing her is a fun challenge for me, but i’m not really as in love with her as i am with certain other hunting dogs.
All the people I ship romantically with this character
no one. it kind of makes me a LITTLE uncomfortable that we don’t know teruko’s general age range, and i’d be hesitant to ship anyone with her because of this.
My non-romantic OTP for this character
her and ochi! i think they can and should kick ass together.
My unpopular opinion about this character
i don’t typically address her canon behavior towards ochi. i think it’s weird, but there really do be people in real life who act like this towards other people and i think that’s a thing that should be brought up.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
i honestly want her age to be revealed bro! we’ve seen her as a kid, an adult, and an old lady. i want to know if any of those are her real age/form and i want to see her in an adult form outside of combat to see if she acts differently depending on how old she is.
TETCHO:
How I feel about this character
my FAVORITE hunting dog! i love him so much! he honestly deserves the world and has a moral code that is stronger than any other character’s moral code, contested only by kunikida (which is a spicy parallel actually but i won’t get into that here).
All the people I ship romantically with this character
JONO. but also ranpo, chuuya, twain, and kunikida. i ship him with a lot of people tbh.
My non-romantic OTP for this character
i like him and tachihara, actually. i’m way attached to the really old character building we did with our plotline of tetcho being tachihara’s brother, and i literally can’t ship them romantically because of how strongly i adhere to this plot and how much i adore them as brothers who are trying to heal.
My unpopular opinion about this character
tetcho’s character potential, as it stands, is kind of being wasted? i do like the plot of ochi helping the ADA, but he also made a promise to not let any of the detectives get hurt.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
don’t @ me but i honestly wish tetcho will get a fulfilling arc that will end in either his death or his removal from the hunting dogs’ unit. i have a lot of reasons for this but i think it would be good storytelling, regardless of how much i personally want him to live.
JONO:
How I feel about this character
a big reason i love jono so much is because of you and it’s really difficult to separate my feelings for jono as a character from my feelings for your jono portrayal. but i think he’s interesting; he’s a character that is extremely similar to dazai in terms of temperament but actually portrayed in the way i think dazai should have been.
All the people I ship romantically with this character
TETCHO. but also! ranpo, chuuya, kouyou, and dazai.
My non-romantic OTP for this character
unsure, but i DO enjoy the dynamic between jono and teruko. it is endlessly funny.
My unpopular opinion about this character
he is what dazai should have been, roughly. he likes to manipulate and use people’s loved ones and secrets against them, except he’s actually portrayed as a little nasty because of this. i LIKE that he’s given a judgmental lens in canon
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
i want someone to one-up him. not in the way tetcho did, in the sense of a ‘friendly’ competition; i want someone from the ada to get the jump on him. preferably ranpo.
TACHIHARA:
How I feel about this character
i was actually neutral about him prior to his hunting dog reveal, but now i think he’s pretty interesting and spicy. i look forward to seeing more of his True Potential.
All the people I ship romantically with this character
gin, twain, and tanizaki off the top of my head!
My non-romantic OTP for this character
honestly? him & any of the hunting dogs. more on this later ;D
My unpopular opinion about this character
i LOVE that he’s a hunting dog, and i’d actually be really disappointed if the culmination of this arc just had him betraying the dogs for the port mafia. i wouldn’t be as mad about it if it happened several arcs in the future after proper development, but. it’d seem kind of abrupt.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
i want to see his relationships with the individual hunting dogs explored more, and explored in-depth. only if that happens will i be satisfied with him having to go and choose between the dogs and the port mafia; it’d be unfair to the hunting dogs as characters if they weren’t given a fighting chance in the narrative, and i honestly don’t feel that tachi has an attachment to any of them in the way he has attachments to gin and hirotsu.
give me a character.     /     accepting.
