Priam had a vague understanding of how to dance, but he ignored all of that in favor of what REAL dancing should be in his books.

He hadn’t expected Dimitri to agree to it, much less be his partner. Priam figured he’d be going in lone wolf style, but the addition of someone else at his side was pretty nice. Twice the action, twice the impact.

Literally.

He watched Dimitri hand his jacket off and grinned, running onstage ahead of him and leaping into a somersault. He righted himself with another jump, light on his feet, and broke into a dance that was, as in sync as possible with Dimitri, one of jumps, flips, and sheer spirit that had him breathing hard at the end.

They were an odd pair, Dimitri formal and pristine and Priam in a school uniform with rolled up sleeves, but in dance? He was certain they felt the same. Free.

To put it simply, Ignatz dancing was horredous. It wasn’t worth describing because the mere sight of him flailing his body around made one judge faint. Onlookers compared it to a dying bird.

It was an understatement to say that Dimitri was nervous. The prince was a little blond ball of nerves ready to explode, and it felt horrible. He had never felt nervous before a dance before- but this was no normal dance either. He and Priam had agreed to do something else and the idea sounded amazing at the time, but now he was filling up with doubt. In front of everyone… this would be a scandal. Faerghus was already unstable as it was with his uncle’s reputation, what would happen if someone caught word that Crown Prince Dimitri is flailing like a fish at a ball for nobles? A prince like him just going off the shits? Lambert’s son?

That’s more likely than you’d think.

At some point he just said to himself, “Curse it.” and removed his rich and embroidered jacket, handing it to a nearby servant before going to the dancefloor with his pair.

We boutta get funky.

Did he know what he was doing? No. He was infinitely grateful that hs uncle weren’t there otherwise the man would’ve fainted from laughing.

But mid performance, he felt himself smiling.

It felt jittery, disorganized, a hot mess, but it felt so fun. So free. 

He couldn’t help but look at Priam with a face of complete surprise at their scores, cheeks rosy from the dancing.

Our favourite sweet loving mage has returned! And now she has a new hairstyle as well. Love how she ties the sides of her hair with a simple bit practical hair tie. And the outfit is just 👌🏻.

The purple haired knight was once seen in an earlier trailer but now we have a full reveal on what he looks like. Love the hairstyle and I like how his outfit is just a lite version of his post timeskip outfit. Also love the fact that when his Special is activated, he smells a rose and then barrages his oppenents after that.

Ignatz 🎨

The greenhead artist is looking cute as always! Love the hair clip he has since it just adds charm and kinda like how the outfit slightly resembles his post timeskip outfit (the sleeves I mean). Also his attacks seems to involve paint splatters too. Wonder if he attached mini paint bombs onto his arrows or it’s just for cool special effects. Either way, I love the detail to it.

Our favourite shy bluenette is revealed. I absolutely love the hairstyle and she even has a floral hairband as well. It looks so cute on her!! The outfit is also lovely since it slightly resembles her post timeskip outfit. And it seems like her Special includes Dorte. I wonder if she adopted him in Three Hopes because if it is then awwww…. 🥰

Last but not least is our favourite competitive and feisty redhead Leonie! I’m digging the hairstyle she has since it makes her look cool and the outfit is just lovely!

Azure Moon is done!

I finally finished Azure Moon!!!! Woohooo!!

My first playthrough of my first Fire Emblem game ever (unless we’re counting Cindered Shadows which um... yeah, I did that before I even knew what gambits even were or what buttons to press for divine pulse--fun times). And of course, like a good chronic completionist, I chose to try to recruit everyone and get all supports right away. As a result, I had 21 characters to choose from to S support and since I kind of headcanon Byleth as ace, I let a random number picker website decide. So... how did it go?

Total play time: 250:28 (yikes!)

S support picked by external RNG: Raphael! (amazingly wholesome, no regrets)

Most frequent MVP: Dimitri (5 times!)

Most battles won and fought: Anna, with 999/479 respectively. Thank you for being such a good dodge tank for adjutant+knowledge gem levelling.

Shortest battle: Foreign Land and Sky (4 turns, Petra MVP) and Salvation at the Chapel (also 4 turns, Annette MVP)

Longest Battle: Red Canyon Dominance (23 turns with MVP Sylvain, what the hell happened there????)

Favorite character in terms of gameplay: Leonie--beast of a bow knight, flattens everything and everyone, ridiculous range, crits 85% of the time with an Iron Bow+.

Favorite character in terms of... character: Hapi--she is all-around amazing and I love her and I really wish I could S support her, but alas I played Bylass.

There’s More(!?) Interhouse Relations Headcanons

Now that all the students have been revealed there are more relations!

Annette and Ingrid are over the moon when they find out that Edelgard, Bernadetta and Linhardt have a sweet tooth.

Marianne and Bernadetta, when discussing about their shyness and low self-esteem, become good friends.

Hilda bonds with Linhardt regarding laziness; they find a place to nap and not be scolded by their leaders.

Leonie does not like Edelgard at first (she seems so snobbish and proud!), but then she sees the future emperor for what she is.

Mercedes and Hubert have tea together and discuss about their House mates.

Sometimes Sylvain convinces Ignatz to draw some art works to impress people and build his skills.

(Plus it attracts the ladies; everyone is a winner!).

Lysithea (she’s not a child she swears) always asks Dedeu to carry her on his shoulders. She feels so tall!

Dorothea is a social butterfly; she practically glues all the Houses together.

Mercedes is always there to break up the fights and comfort anyone in need.

Felix, Caspar and Leonie are super competitive with one another. They like to throw fists.

Leonie always gets into fights with Ferdinand.

“Snobbish carrot hair!”-Leonie. “What did you call me you wenc-”-Ferdinand.

Petra always tries to encourage Marianne to improve her self-esteem. Marianne also tries to encourage Petra’s language difficulties.

Thus Petra and Marianne also become fast friends.

Raphael challenges Dedeu to arm wrestles to see who is the strongest man.

Whenever Dedeu beats him Raphael helps him with pruning flowers as an agreement every time he loses (he does enjoy it though!).

Bernadetta and Annette bond over their love of cooking.

Ashe and Annette are the Troublesome Duo, so all the Houses have to watch out!

Lorenz and Hubert understand each other regarding how everyone seems to insult their hairstyle (Lysithea is the biggest culprit). 

Claude encourages Dimitri to do silly stuff with him and others.

When Dimitri does stupid stuff it is always Ingrid having to come and check on him.

Dimitri and Claude try to get Edelgard to smile more.

“Hey Edelgard~! Look what I got!”-Claude, holding up a kitten. “.....”-Edelgard, trying so hard to not ‘awwww’. “How about this puppy?”-Dimitri, holding a puppy to her. 

Whenever the students bring their pets the animals clammer and overwhelm Dorothea and Mercedes. Animals love those two.

Leonie, being a daughter of a hunter, has a massive intimidating hunting dog that only Annette finds adorable and pats.

Semi-blind PT#1 (Blue Lions) FE16 reactions: Game Complete!

So here’s a round-up of the inter-house deaths so far:

Black Eagles:

Bernadetta-- dead at Gronder Field

Caspar & Linhardt-- dead in that chapter they show up as enemies ‘cause I just didn’t care to spare ‘em

Dorothea & Ferdinand-- recruited.

Petra-- ended Chapter 21 before I faced her

Hubert-- ded in Chapter 21

Edelgard-- ded to end the game

Golden Deer: 

Leonie & Ignatz-- recruited

Lorenz-- ded in the chapter he shows up as an enemy commander

Raphael-- ded at Gronder Field ‘cause he wouldn’t stop killing my units

Lysithea-- survived Gronder Field, never saw her again

Marianne-- never saw her, read a fan theory suggesting she doesn’t survive the time skip if not on your team

Claude & Hilda-- survived The Golden Deer’s Plea and presumably effed off to somewhere.

Chapters 21 & 22 were pretty awful to play blind. Yay for Casual Mode, because Mercedes died in Ch 21 when a fucking Crest Beast spawned next to her and she couldn’t get away from him before Ashe arrived to save the day. Flayn got ballista’d that same chapter so I was down to Byleth as my primary healer for the rest of that battle. I had Seteth stab Hubert to show him What For.

Then Chapter 22 was more of the same with “Edelmon” tossing fireballs and that shitty Bohr mage and Meteor tomes. My support chains kept everyone alive until Dedue fell to one Meteor blast too many and then Ashe, Alois, and Dimitri his own bad self fell in quick succession. Endgame consisted of the remainder of the Faerghus Childhood Friends (Ingrid, Sylvain, Felix) surrounding Edelgard and using their mega-weapons on her while Byleth stood by to heal and lend support.

And then it was over. 

End of Blue Lions route feels like a Bad Ending, to be honest, in the “Marth if you didn’t save Tiki in FE3/12″ or “Roy if you didn’t face Idunn with the Sword of Seals” way. Yeah, you “won” and have the throne and the new unified kingdom and your peeps are alive, but there’s all this STUFF out there unresolved. Rhea gets freed offscreen and there’s no reckoning for the part where she turned into a giant fucking dragon and flew around blasting the Imperial Army or any of the rest of it. Byleth is the new archbishop but we don’t truly know what’s up with Byleth’s parentage or powers or unbeating heart or all that shit. Crest Beasts? No answer. Fucking creepy Hero’s Relics that glow and wriggle and corrupt the Crestless user? No answers. Flayn takes a Tiki-esque nap (again?). Seteth goes back to his desk job or whatever for the next few centuries. 

Oh yeah. Ashe was using Failnaught in the final battle because why the hell not-- does that mean it’ll turn him into a Crest Beast like Miklan? Like, why can I do this thing with impunity? 

I really, really loved this route, and since the other routes are available on the same disc for the same price and replay is expected the way it was for FE7 and such, I can’t say I feel ripped off by the ending the way I would feel if, say, I bought Fire Emblem: Blue Lions all by itself and now had to pay extra for the ending that actually answered any of those g-damn questions. But I am not satisfied, nor did I achieve any catharsis in Edelgard’s body sliding down Dimitri’s Relic lance. I don’t think there was supposed to be catharsis there.

Guess I gotta play Golden Deer now.

Oh yes, paired endings. How the HELL do they work? I sure didn’t get the pairings in the order I unlocked A-supports when it came to Ingrid, Sylvain, or Dimitri.

I got: 

Mercedes/Alois: the hell? Kinda cute tho.

Ingrid/Ashe: Awwww, I really did love their support line

Felix/Sylvain: They deserve one another TBH

Dimitri/Annette: WHAT THE HELL IS THIS? OTOH, it’s cute and sweet and I like the part about Annette introducing wise counsel and revolutionary policies to the court because she was a little iconoclast in a less-abrasive way than Felix.

And I got Byleth/Gilbert, I mean Byleth/Gustave, so I guess my Avatar is kinda-sorta Dimitri’s stepdad-in-law now? That’s a way of keeping Kingdom and Church close, lol. Anyway, Gustave took his hair down for Byleth and promised to “protect Byleth’s smile” and we all know what that means in old-school coded Fire Emblem, right? 

I’m guessing they figured anyone remotely interested in S-supporting Gilbert was a veteran who’d think “Oh yeah, I have a very own Devoted Knight at my side to Protect My Smile!” and be OK with that instead of a legit 2019 gay marriage.

It halfway worked. ;P

What about how in Three Houses you can get platonic supports(something in the past games) & support endings, or how there are some characters like Gilbert that don't have romantic pairings?

Okay now the endings are something I do think was improved! As much as I enjoyed the Fates/Awakening ones, it became obvious that they were cut and paste for whoever ended up with whoever. But in Houses, each and every single ending is unique, no matter who ends up with who or they didn’t end up with anyone.

(SPOILERS)

For example, with the Raphael & Ignatz ending, with Ignatz marrying Raphael’s sister? I literally said “AWWWW” out loud when I got it.

Woke up late so I only got three hours of playing in.  So my memory won’t be bad!  or not.  Golden Deer, Act 2, second plot battle.

Plus three irrelevant auxiliary fights.

-Watching those Silver Swordmasters just ping off Hilda was glorious.  She mastered Fortress Knight so now it’s off to wyvern land.

-Three fliers is great guys you are missing out.

-Hilda’s relic is surprisingly light.  Hilda herself is now among the fastest on my team now that she’s out of FK.

-Byleth is still faster and more defensive.  And crits for days.

-Leonie’s falling off way harder than I’d like but Bow Knight will fix everything.  Maybe.

-I am training up Lysithea’s riding because I am absolutely sure she will master Gremony.

-The plot battle obviously had some sort of gimmick with that allied unit but I just powered right through all those Fortress Knights with no trouble.

-Should have brought Caspar on that note.

-Oh boy, the Caspar/Mercedes paralogue.  I’ve heard this one is rough and these two aren’t in my prime team.  Though Mercedes has gotten a few levels from being an adjutant.  Gonna save that for later because there’s four paralogues this month.

-Claude/Ingrid: OK, this pairing is surprisingly hilarious and I will pushing them together.

-Cyril/Lysithea: Lysithea is like the one person Cyril doesn’t groan about when she helps him.  Because of their ages I guess.  It’s real cute and I kind of would go for their pairing if I wasn’t marrying Lysithea myself.

-Cyril/Mercedes: Awwww, another person Cyril isn’t a grouch too.  Mercie is such a sweetie.

-Seteth is a really cool guy in his supports when he’s not being a busybody.

-Ignatz/Ingrid: Ignatz painting a portrait of Seiros in the chapel becomes hilarious when there’s rubble.

Speculation on the true nature of crests

I was getting pain reading someone rant against Edelgard so I looked up the cutscene of Flame Emperor saying Thales wasn’t going to get away with his shit and Thales mentions blood experiments to get FE the Crest and Crests are dragon blood, aren’t they?  I don’t know how that works but by god Nemesis just gets worse and worse.  How the hell did Rhea just not kill every human after all that shit.

ENDGAME: GOLDEN DEER

huh. i hit their A support in all my playthroughs and yet this is the only one where they’re together and not separate on the end cards. who knows how all that shit works.

I FINALLY FINISHED THE GOLDEN DEER ROUTE and maaaan that last battle was epic. Claude’s speech was still cheesy as hell but I was rooting for my deer babies all the way. And!! I’m so happy for Marianne’s character development!! She was so shy and timid and anxious but right at the last battle she was smiling and she believed in her own strength because she had her friends awwww that really teared me up. I’m so happy for her.

spoilers for the end couples and their titles, but not for the plot

Okay, even though I got all the support convos for my team, I was so surprised that some of them did end up together after all? And they weren’t the couples I was expecting!

I really thought!! Ignatz and Marianne would get together!! I don’t mind Lorenz and Marianne, but Ignatz and Hilda took me by surprise!! I was really rooting for the Hilda/Lorenz power couple, especially knowing what happens to Claude in the end (Hilda was the unoffical retainer during the war but Lorenz is the worthy post-war substitute). I love that Lorenz is so stressed out for having the title of “mother and father of horses and cattle” with Marianne though lmaooo

I’m happy that Leonie got the title of Blade Breaker II but I did not expect her to marry Seteth?? Daaamn I wonder what Flayn thinks of all this

Bernie and Raphael is so adorable but Raphy actually helping her with politics is quite a turn. But she really was more courageous around him huh.

I really love using Ingrid in battle but recruiting her kinda made it apparent who Sylvain will end up with. I was hoping he’d end up with Dorothea.
