i know kaminari is typically the airheaded one, but i like to think as his partner you surprisingly are able to turn your brain off around him.

for example,

when he’s teaching you how to play a video game, you suddenly forget how to make your character walk even if you already play games yourself.

he just laughs, letting his head fall on your shoulder as he taps the ‘A’ button on your controller. eventually, it leads to him guiding your with his hands over yours— basically playing the game for you. you just look at the screen like a kid who just went to disneyland for the first time, mouth open in a small ‘o’ shape and eyes mesmerized at the screen as he wins for you, still telling you “good job baby” (his favorite line and yours)

and of course, the usual: you letting him hold your hand to guide you while walking whether you already how to get to your destination or not, him always grabbing you by your waist and moving you out the way out possible things to bump into or trip over while you’re walking together as you fail to pay attention, buttoning up a shirt for you, re-teaching you how to use a can opener, him pulling a door open for you that clearly says ‘pull’ on the handle after you had been trying to push it open for two minutes straight, etc. his version of “mansplaining” is just you swooning over him as he explains things you know damn well you should damn well already know yourself. but around him, you don’t have to use your pretty little head for a thing.

~~~ I got really into the sword & sorcery vibes lately so I decided that I wanted to paint August Lubi in the style of 70s pulp fantasy covers. Main inspiration for this was Michael Whelan (I pretty much directly referenced his green Elric cover for the raised arm)

This was challenging, but also incredibly fun! It was refreshing to work in such different way from my usual process! <:

zoro who is so caught off guard by sanji’s kinder actions towards him is one of my favorite tropes. sanji crafting him specialized post workout snacks personally adjusted for him but still down to fight and call him names. he’s still the biggest asshole zoro has ever had the displeasure of knowing, and he’s horribly considerate. he’s a little confused but doesn’t reject any of sanji’s specialized treats. it’s not like sanji is fawning and doting over him like he does nami, so zoro feels like he can cross off sanji actually liking him from his list of reasons as to why sanji is acting like this. but it’s still fucking strange..

meanwhile sanji is in his kitchen wondering how zoro hasn’t taken a damn hint yet

I love this whole exchange so frigging much. Zack is yet to understand Sephiroth’s motives and moral compass, the almost hate-filled look in his eyes a reflection of how he still holds a whole bunch of rancor towards him from their disagreement in Wutai, glaring at the older man as if he can’t ever believed he ever respected him or even dared to hail him as a hero.

Only for Sephiroth to reveal later that he’s sacrificing his allegiance in order to keep Angeal, the very person Zack thought he was giving up on, alive and safe from ShinRa’s erasure.

What must it have been like to be Esperanza Valdez?

Knowing that your son had been chosen by the gods to have these powers because he was important to the fate of humanity.
