Cardcaptor Luz: Yue
(I've mentioned some of these points before, but I wanted to put everything in a single post).
The name of Yue's alternative witch identity is Julius Argent. Julius is based on Yukito Tsukishiro's dub name, Julian Star; Argent means "silver" and refers to the phrase 'silvery moon.'
Julian Argent mostly resembles Yukito Tsukishiro, except his hair is more silvery and longer, tied up in a short ponytail. And of course, Julian has pointy ears like a witch.
Since Yukito was 6-7 years older than Sakura in the original anime, I'll use the same age difference between Julius and Luz. Since Luz is 14, then Julius would be 20-21 years old.
A few years before Luz came to the Isles, Yue awoke in the form of a young, silvery-haired witch with no memories but very powerful magic. He was found and taken in by Lilith Clawthorne who named him Julius Argent. Belos was intrigued by Julius magic as it felt "familiar" (due to time-travel reasons), so he appointed Julius as the Silver Sentinel and assigned him to be Lilith's right-hand man.
The latter position was so Julius would secretly keep an eye on Lilith, but Julius has no actual loyalty towards Belos, being able to sense the man's corruption, and only joined the Emperor's Coven out of loyalty and gratitude towards Lilith. He even faked getting the Coven's Sigil in such way that no one, not even Belos, ever noticed.
To be clear, Julius doesn't have any kind of romantic feelings towards Lilith, he just sees her as a mentor. His loyalty towards her is based on gratitude for taking him in as well as subconsciously sensing that Lilith is Clow Reed's descendant and that she can use Moon magic.
Julius’s personality is pretty much the same as Yukito in canon. Since Amity is Lilith’s protege, Julius helps to train her and they developed a bond akin to siblings. He has a similar sibling bond with Hunter, though it becomes strained for most of season 2 until Hunter himself defects from the Emperor's Coven. While he goes along with Lilith’s plans, Julius has no personal quarrel with the inhabitants of the Owl House and is rather affable to them whenever they're not fighting each other.
Julius shares Yukito's giant appetite and often surprises people who don't know about it with the amount of food he eats.
As I said before, Yue awakens once Luz has captured the Light and Dark Cards in the first part of Season 1's finally. He reveals his True Form to Belos and explains that his mission is to "judge" Luz; Belos believes that Yue is an angel sent by the Abrahamic God to "punish" the human girl for her "witchcraft" and appoints Yue as the new Head of the Emperor's Coven after Lilith is arrested for helping the Owl Family escape. This is all actually part of Yue's plan to help Luz become the new Master of the Cards and become strong enough to face Belos.
Yue is more accepting of Luz as his new Master than he was of Sakura in canon, though I haven't figured out a reason why exactly that is.
Julian has powerful magic that put him on par with Eda and Lilith. As Yue's alternate self, Julius magic is aligned with the Moon and has a greater affinity for magic spells associated with the Moon-aligned Cards like Water, Wind and Illusion Magic. While he can use magic normally associated with the Sun-aligned Cards like Fire and Light, it's harder. Julius also shares Yue's talent for archery.
It took me some time to figure out who I was gonna pair Julius with since I didn't want to make an OC just for that role. Eventually, I decided to pair him with Derwin of the BATTs.
Julian/Yue is in no danger of disappearing because Luz's magic is much stronger than Sakura's at this point. What's more, Yue bonded with four of the Glyphs (Dark, Ice, Wind and Plant) after Luz became his master, allowing Yue to draw magic from the Isles if necessary.

My Owl House AU
I'm thinking that I'm going to start talking about my Cardinal Hunting TOH AU (name open to change). SO that's what this post will be about!
The AU contains two main concepts. First that Hunter runs away after the events of Hollow Mind, and second that the strength of one's bond with their Palismen can lead to some.. magical changes.
This leads to the premise of Hunter and Flapjack bonding, and the changes that come from that. The main focus is of Hunter's relationship with Flapjack and how that changes his view on the world and other people, and also how he evolves from "Golden Guard" to "Hunter". AND it's about how those changes aren't just mental, but there's some physical changes as well (the big spice of the AU lol)
The longer Hunter spends time with Flapjack the more he notices changes. At first it's simple itching and minor swelling along his lower arms, back, and lower legs. Over time he starts noticing small feather-like wooden barbs growing from these areas. Hunter at this point is still living in the castle (set between Eclipse Lake and Hollow Mind).
By the time the events of Hollow Mind happen Hunter is used to plucking stray feathers off his clothes. His behaviour/instincts has changed slightly (he believes it to be because he's "betraying the emperor by not sacrificing flapjack until later in the AU). These align with the developmental stages of real life cardinals.
Once he has officially run away after Hollow Mind these changes speed up as Hunter's main friend and ally during this period is Flapjack. The feathers grow more uncontrollably, his nails begin to turn to claws as the skin of his hands and feet toughen and scale up (similar to a real birds foot, though less extreme).
Hunter gains more natural affinity towards nesting and safety, at this point stumbling upon the Palismen Queen in the forest who takes interest in his situation. There it's explained that at one point, far in the past, the bond between Palismen and their witches/magic holders were stronger and that the magic of both would intermingle to create a representation of their bond. This could lead witches to gaining boosts to their natural abilities (for instance, a bond between an eagle-like palismen and a witch may result in the witch getting increased eyesight).
However such things "mysteriously" got rarer until it became more fiction than fact. Hunter begins living with the wild Palismen in the woods and acts as their protector (partly fuelled by his guilt of aiding in the deaths of many).
I have less planned event wise after this, just some vague stuff about Hunter becomin a sort of guardian of magic and somewhere along there meeting back up with Luz and Eda, but YEAH that's the rough outline!
There's some differences for other characters too in the AU. Like Gus getting better at tricking people's senses when it comes to illusion magic as he bonds with his Palisman, fuelled by the nature of his palisman being a chameleon. Willow getting a better sense of the sky due to hers being similar to an earth bee and possibly getting better at communicating with certain plants?.
And how the manifestation of the Owl Beast Curse looks. It is influenced by a witch's Palismen, which is this AU's reason as to why Eda's beast form is more like an owl and Lilith's is less owl like). And more that I haven't got figured out yet haha
If anyone wants to ask about it feel free! I am very open to engagement :)
#the owl house#toh au#toh hunter#toh flapjack#Cardinal Hunting AU#<- I'll probably be adding more to this#I'm a sucker for stories where character's run away after a big life-changing moment.. if that isn't obvious#the AU would probably go into the trauma of being the golden guard but that's for another time#Thanks for reading!!

Info ! Hidden Orchard of Las Noches
Outside of his usual duties as an arrancar, Vander likes to keep one or two pet projects on the side to keep things interesting. His most successful project has been a peculiar Wax Jambu tree he manage to cultivate in the Hollow Forest using a common cutting of the Wax Jambu, a cutting of the albino variety, the remains of his prey, and a sturdy sample of crystallized spirit particles containing reiatsu from the arrancar, Rudbornn Chelute.
By using the crystallized reiatsu as fertilizer, Vander imbued the albino sapling with hollow energy, thus giving it the ability to feed on both the common Wax Jambu and the bodies and the energies of his defeated prey. Thanks to this, the albino specimen fed not only on the nutrients of its kin, but also on reishi in the air and the reiatsu of surrounding hollows. This led to the birth of what he calls a “leech tree” breed which feeds on the energies of surrounding hollows while producing fruit filled with an almost triple-concentrated form of the energy originally absorbed.
Naturally, this abundance in spiritual energy is bound to draw in other hollows intent on making themselves stronger. But like a great carnivorous plant, it lures them in only to sap them of their energy and use them as further fodder for its ever thirsting roots. Because of this, Vander created special cloaks for himself that protect him from the tree’s leech-like abilities. As a safety precaution, he also uses his portals to keep the tree (and its roots) neatly pruned and contained while collecting its valuable fruit. After all, the last thing he wants is for it to grow more than necessary and become a threat in need of being destroyed.
Vander also takes great pains to keep his fruit a secret from other arrancar so as to use the fruit extracts for various items and experiments. These extracts actually vary in effect thanks to the nature of the fruit’s reiatsu and where the tree absorbed it. As Vander has found out, if the tree only absorbs the air born reishi of Hueco Mundo, the fruit remains white and functions as a mere food source with minimal advantages. If the reiatsu from hollows of Adjuchas level or below is absorbed, the fruit (and subsequently, the extracts) changes color slightly and gives the user a temporary boost in strength, speed and energy. But when the tree consumes the reiatsu of an Arrancar or a being of similar level (human, shinigami, ect.), the fruit will gain a vivid flush of color resembling the hues of the reiatsu it absorbed. The fruit then bestows certain special abilities related to or possessed by the producer of the reiatsu it absorbed. Unfortunately, these abilities are temporary and only last so long as the fruit is eaten.
However, with these fruit extracts, he has managed to create specific hunting supplements which often gives him an advantage when on missions, hunting en mass, opening long-distance portals, or battling particularly dangerous opponents. Thanks to this, Vander has had great incentive to gather reiatsu from everywhere in Hueco Mundo - especially Las Noches.

Ok, so Syndicate Owl house AU, huh? This is not going to be perfect 1 to 1 au, I care about vibes first, comedy second, and only then how similar it is to source materials. That’s just how I like my aus.
Lets choose our roles first!
Philza - Eda, duh. Crowfather instead of the Owl-Lady.
Techno - King, because Eda’s/Philza’s bestie from before the story happens. He’s just a miniature pig that claims to be the Blood God who ruled over the SMP in the era long gone. It is an ongoing joke that every time tohau!Techno threatens to kick someone’s ass an accident or a different character does all the work for him, so it remains unknow if he is actually competent or not.
Ranboo - Luz, He just got here, he has no idea what is going on.
Niki - Willow, instead she has a natural affinity with pyromancy instead of plant magic.
This is our main cast. Some other roles include
Tubbo - Amity. His rlationship with tohau!Ranboo is strictly platonic in this au!
Fundy - Eberwolf, because >:3 fox.
Quackity - Kikimora, because one eye, because I thinks it’s funny.
Wilbur - Emperor Belos.
Tommy - Hunter, except much more brash and, u know, Tommy.
Now, I know this last two analogs will get me killed. But I have three clips justifying why it fits (clip1, clip2, clip3) so just know that I am right before you strike me down.
Dream doesn’t have a canonical analog in The Owl House, or at least I can’t think of one, so I’ll make him the leader of the “resistance that is somehow worse then the thing they are resisting” trope. In short tohau!Dream is the reason why tohau!Wilbur had such an easy time convincing the people of Boiling Isles SMP (name in development) that wild magic is bad actually.
This list is not final, nor is it complete and I am open to any ideas.

•Always has blackmail on every Ministry they’re tied to... just in case
•Every member in family will always get a second wand at some time during their life either because they lost it, got it broken, stolen, or sacrificed it... there has never been an exception
•Because of the second wand tradition many call the Chen family cursed
•High expectations is expected from all members regardless of age, gender, or birth order but not required (The family is quite nice to each other)
•When a member picks a field they always excel in it
•They are not new in breaking rules/laws or following a morally gray lifestyle
•No one knows why but the Chen family has never had a ghost in their entire history
•While they can be traditional with arrange marriages they are very adaptable so they have gone thru many traditions which has help them maintain their high status
•Has a secret family Grimoire
•During birth each member is registered by the Grimoire by placing a drop of their blood on the gem on the cover
•Over the generations the Grimoire has become semi sentient
•Each generation adds something to the Grimoire that could chance the whole wizarding world... spells, curses, hexes, potions, plant, creatures, etc.
•If any generation is ever low on funds they can use a page of the Grimoire and share it to the Wizarding world to get their fortune back (granted whatever they share is a way weaker version with drawbacks or requirements)
•Any member can summon the Grimoire and multiply copies can be an existence
•The Grimoire will not allow itself to be used for evil and can revoke any Chen member from its use if attempted
* Many go thru a process of living among muggles for a short time to learn to blend in and learn things so they won’t become heavily reliant on magic
•It is said that if a member of the family produces a Dragon patronus it is a calamity for the family which is odd since dragons are well respected and prized in the family
•Qiao’s younger brother’s patronus is a dragon
•During his time or regime the calamity prophecy was true. There was a rebellion and many of the Chen family members were killed but their knowledge, secrets, and power did not dwindle
•The Chen family is very private and if a member does wrong the family will deal with them behind close doors
•If multiple children are born from the main family one will be chosen as the head and the other sent to a different part of the world to spread their influence
•It is not a dishonor or a punishment if you are not chosen as the head of the family
•If the Head dies and has no heir the remaining sibling will gain the title
•Hence Qiao became the Head
•Among Qiao’s children while each excel in their studies the head was bestow on Jacob Since Persephone has no interest in it
•To the world the Chen family is all but wiped out with the exception of the Qiao’s family...for now
•The remaining Chen family members are currently keeping a low profile and keeping their ear to the ground to find out what happened and how
•No one knows Leta is a Siren except Qiao, Jacob, Bibby, and Persephone
•Hence no one knows Jacob and Persephone is half-Siren
•Only a few friends of the children know

All You Need to Know || Donald Duncan
All you need to know about Donald Duncan and his life
Basic Info
Name: Donald Duncan Age: 16 Birthday: July 10th Sign: Cancer sun, Taurus moon. Gender: Male Sexuality: Unknown (basically decided by who he bonds with) Relationship Status: Single (but has been in entanglements before) House: Slytherin - 6th year Height: 5 foot 9 inches Patronus: Black Swan If your patronus is the black Swan then it is likely you are a highly emotional individual. Your passion allows you to devote yourself to your interests and become an expert in your chosen field. The downside to your passionate existence is that you can sometimes struggle to understand your own emotions. If this is your patronus you will thrive in a warm and friendly atmosphere, you feed off positive energy and give it out just as freely.Only a person of a true kind nature with an amazing depth of emotion could conjure the black Swan patronus. Boggart:The person who keeps killing him. They take on a few different forms, often starting with the present one. Most of the time the person who killed him was a human, and since those are the most recognizable faces he has in this present life, those are the flickering forms the boggart takes. However it has been known to swap to an animal here and there, giving Donald the appearance of being a coward and afraid of many things and people.
Secret: Donald has the rare “gift” to remember his past lives. While that isn’t strange enough to tell people--usually drawing looks of disbelief or scorn--Donald is loathe to admit what his true goals are in this one. Never has he had the opportunity to be a human before now, and on top of that he’s a wizard. It’s a dark burden, but Donald prays to one day get the chance to finally return the favor to that single person. He just has to work up the courage to actually do it.
Goal: Donald wants to seek his revenge upon the person who constantly kills him. Unfortunately, he doesn’t quite have the stomach to be able to kill someone after dying so many times himself.
Items of Interest - Precious Items
Wand: English Oak, Phoenix, 13″, Supple
This is the rarest core type. Phoenix feathers are capable of the greatest range of magic, though they may take longer than either unicorn or dragon cores to reveal this. They show the most initiative, sometimes acting of their own accord, a quality that many witches and wizards dislike.Phoenix feather wands are always the pickiest when it comes to potential owners, for the creature from which they are taken is one of the most independent and detached in the world. These wands are the hardest to tame and to personalise, and their allegiance is usually hard won. A wand for good times and bad, this is a friend as loyal as the wizard who deserves it. Wands of English oak demand partners of strength, courage and fidelity. Less well-known is the propensity for owners of English oak wands to have powerful intuition, and, often, an affinity with the magic of the natural world, with the creatures and plants that are necessary to wizardkind for both magic and pleasure. The oak tree is called King of the Forest from the winter solstice up until the summer solstice, and its wood should only be collected during that time (holly becomes King as the days begin to shorten again, and so holly should only be gathered as the year wanes. This divide is believed to be the origin of the old superstition, “when his wand’s oak and hers is holly, then to marry would be folly,” a superstition that I have found baseless). It is said that Merlin’s wand was of English oak (though his grave has never been found, so this cannot be proven).
Yashica Mat 124G, Nikon F2, Polaroid: Donald loves photography now that he’s a human. He adores taking photos and is almost glued to some sort of camera or device that can record things. Part of the reasoning behind it is that he wants to be a photographer and publish a book at some point. That way, when he reincarnates perhaps he can seek out his book and have proof that his memories of past lives are real.
Scolla Stone: While not the biggest fan of technology, Donald is more accustomed to it’s existance than most other wizards. He attended Hogwarts finding himself always frustrated with the slow owls and the lack of his digital cameras to work. Then, the Scolla came out and he’s been using it as his backup quick-shot camera for a while now, as well as a great way to contact his parents while in the halls of Hogwarts.
Personality
Donald is a confusing person to most people looking in. He’s emotionally driven and quick to jump to a response based upon said emotions, so much so that people wonder why he isn’t in Gryffindor sometimes. They tend to run on high and are quick to rise to the surface when he’s under pressure or distressed and they run especially high for one particular person no matter the situation. However to those who know him and have earned his trust Donald is a calm, quiet, and go-with-the-flow sort of guy, which is where the confusion lies.
Mostly his cool and calm comes from a strong appreciation of life and its inner workings. With so many different memories of his past lives, Donald has developed an understanding that all things feel and that they all will cycle back around to live again. It causes a great deal of peace in many aspects of his life, but anxiety in others when he thinks about what pattern lies in his own cycle. He can be perfectly content being alone out in nature.
Despite his mix of rapid personality shifts, Donald is generally a friendly sort of guy who’s slow to trust others outside of his immediate circle. But for those who have earned his loyalty a good and helpful friend is always on hand. Donald may not be the best at listening to problems or dealing with crying people, but he is good at helping those in a pinch through practical means.
Of course, like most Slytherins he has a devious side that rears its head when he’s looking for some fun and encouraged by his housemates. Though never malicious in intent, Donald loves a good prank… so long as it’s not aimed at him. It’s all fun and games until it gets dished back out, and then it can quickly devolve into fits of rage and injustice.
Home Life
Donald’s home life is a simple one at heart, and he likes it that way. His parents are both loving people, content with their lot in life, and his sister is... well he manages to somewhat get along.
His mother is a medical herbalist with a knack for potion-making and crafts brews for medicinal use and based upon an order from clients. She also grows herbs for her own experimentation or to sell later. Donald’s father is a boat captain of a fishing vessel that makes port in Mevagissey, near their home. He’s a rough sort of man, but calm and composed most of the time with a very practical outlook on life and friends. He is devoted to his family, but often the more magical nature of his his wife and son eludes his grasp.
Donald’s twin sister is another story, however. Della was not graced with magic like Donald and is forever a bit bitter about it. She has developed a strong sense of distaste for it and distaste for the family’s simple lifestyle, unlike her brother. Often she’ll ask to get whisked away to London or even beg to take weekend trips to visit her brother with the intention of running off to somewhere more populated than their small town where she lives. While Della might be a bit of a restless spirit, Donald still loves her and tries to do the right thing by her, even if it means dragging her to London every now and again.
Growing up within a more muggle-centered life, Donald is more at home with their lifestyle and accustomed to solving his problems without resorting to his wand. From a young age he’d been out on the boat with his father or in the dirt with his mother and learned to appreciate their devotion to their crafts, even if it wasn’t always as glamorous as the jobs some of his friend’s parents had. He appreciates hard work and is keen to spot it in others around the school.
Donald’s friends back home are all typically muggles with only a few exceptions, namely his uncle. For the most part he’s been isolated from them, except in the summers, due to his absence from their lives as he goes off to school. It’s caused his summers to be a bit more boring, but with magic and a working fireplace he’s managed to take trips whenever invited by his magical companions. Donald’s uncle, however, is another story. Being one of the few other wizards he’d known growing up, there is a sense of respect there, but it’s a far cry from the same sort shown to his parents.
Quick / Random Facts!
> Della is Donald’s twin sister, and the far more restless sibling, even considering Donald’s temper. > Easily stressed by large crowds and prone to outbursts of anger then. > Donald has a great affinity for water and loves swimming whenever he gets the chance. > Is better at Potions, Care of Magical Creatures, and Herbology over the more wand-waving forms of magic. > Holds a very simple and practical outlook on life and his interactions. > Likes peace and quiet over large gatherings, but he often shows up at parties after being dragged by his fellow dorm-mates.
Tattoos / Markings
> A scar on his arm where he accidentally had a fishhook lodged in it > A scar on his knee when he jokingly attempted to kick a door with some friends and kicked through the glass. He cried, a lot. He was 8.

colorful headcanons.
frost blue: does your muse enjoy the snow and cold? or are they the type to enjoy summer more? She definitely enjoys the summer more. Being cold blooded, if everything around her isn’t warm, she’ll quickly freeze, so the warmer the better.
peacock blue: is your muse honest? what sorts of lies do they tell, if not? Absolutely not. If you ask her what colour the sky is on a sunny day in California, she’ll tell you green in a heartbeat. Feferi WILL lie at any given opportunity, sometimes for fun.
lapis lazuli: does your muse prefer the idea of exploring the depths of the oceans, or the boundless expanses of space more? She’ll always choose the ocean. Had it not been for Earth’s immense pollution, she would’ve set her sights on its waters ages ago.
reddish brass: how likely is your muse to step up and take the role of a leader? are they willing to take the challenge, or are they more apt to being a follower? Feferi loves to lead; it’s in her blood! She’s already quite the leader, both as a model and as a UN rep. Following orders just simply isn’t something she was made to do, and unless you’re her wife, don’t bother trying to get her to follow!
burnt umber: how stable is your muse, mentally and/or emotionally? Not very, but she’s getting better. Her confidence has definitely built up over the course of her marriage, and she has a lot more of a sense of self-worth than before. There are still quite a few things she needs to work on, and should painful memories of her past be drudged up she can easily spiral again. The recent development with her lusus set her back quite a bit, but with her wife helping she won’t go back to as dark of a place.
champagne: does your muse drink (alcohol)? are they a heavy drinker, if so? Not anymore. She used to be an alcoholic before she met her wife. She does occasionally enjoy a drink during festivities, but never more than three.
tea orange: what is something that your muse is fascinated with? Organisms. There isn’t a single living being she hasn’t found beautiful in some way.
malachite: has your muse ever done anything that they winded up feeling incredibly guilty for in the end? Yes. She’s cheated on her mate Gamzius. They’ve moved past it, but there are times where she still feels guilty about it.
olive: is your muse prone to feeling envious of others? if yes, what is it that they typically feel envious over? No. Envy isn’t a feeling Feferi typically feels.
vermillion: is your muse courageous, or would they consider themselves to be more of a coward? Neither. She doesn’t have a concept of fear, so she can neither cower in it nor overcome it with courage.
coral: what is your muse’s romantic and sexual orientations? Polyamorous panromantic pansexual.
bougainvillaea: would your muse consider themselves as blunt, or do they beat around the bush instead? She definitely beats around the bush, unless she doesn’t understand something. She will always say she doesn’t understand.
currant: what’s something that absolutely disgusts your muse (can be a person, place, thing, ect)? Being given money as a gift. She finds the gesture humiliating, as though she’s charity. She herself loves to give others money as gifts, but no one should ever give her money or offer to give her money. What does she look like, a poor person???
crimson: how passionate is your muse about the things they love most? Oh, very! Get her talking about her interests and she won’t stop, provided you’re someone about which she can feel comfortable talking.
raspberry: what food and/or drink can your muse not get enough of? do they indulge in it often, or is it something reserved for special occasions? There aren’t really any foods that she loves that much. She does have an affinity for fish tacos and sushi, but she is very particular about how they are prepared and how she eats them.
baby blossoms: does your muse have a favorite scent? what is it, and why? Sea salt. It makes her nostalgic.
mallow: what sorts of things might remind your muse of those close to them? any scents, objects, sounds? The colour red, jewels, axolotls, plants, gold, college textbooks
aubergine: does your muse prefer the day, or are they more of a night-owl? The day. It doesn’t feel right if she isn’t up by sunrise.
acacia: how much does it take for your muse to hate someone? Not much or a whole lot, depending on how you look at it. She does hate a few people, some of them for arbitrary and very petty reasons, but most have happened after long strings of whatever she deems injustices. It might be calling her ugly, ignoring her, or more serious things like hurting a loved one. To get her to hate you is a very complicated and unpredictable process, but should you achieve it, be ready to grovel for her forgiveness. She doesn’t forgive very easily.
cadmium yellow: what subjects or topics does your muse avoid, because they bring up harmful / painful memories? She doesn’t like talking about her lusus. She will also avoid certain parts of her sexual past. She will never discuss crushes either.
honey: when your muse loves someone (whether it be romantic, platonic, or familial love), how do they show it? She loves calling her loved ones by nicknames, giving them gifts, and coddling them.
chartreuse: if you had to describe your muse with a color, what color would it be and why? Milennial Pink. It’s a light colour, but not quite as girly as bubblegum or ballet pink. It has a neutrality to it that’s a bit unnerving, just like Feferi.
anise: when it comes to self-care, what does your muse do to take care of themselves? do they take care to spend time on it, or do they feel they don’t deserve it? Self care to Feferi means keeping herself looking at perfect as possible. Self care to her wife, however, means relaxing as much as possible. Feferi feels it’s expected of her to maintain the former, and feels she doesn’t deserve the latter, but Zi is hellbent on showing her otherwise.
new leaf: what message would your muse send to their past self, if any? “Stay dead.”
moss: how easily does your muse adapt to any new situations they’re thrust into? It depends on the situation, but generally Feferi will play along until she can come up with a plan. She prefers things to be neat and organized, and will become a bit irritated when they aren’t, but she manages to hold on until she can readjust.
silk: does your muse care about appearances much? do they spend a lot of time on their own appearance, or do they just go with the flow each day? Oh yes. Her career as a model relies entirely on her appearance. She gets up at dawn each day to make sure her hair, makeup and clothing all look absolutely perfect.
sanguine: does your muse typically have an optimistic, pessimistic, or some middle ground outlook on life? Pessimistic, definitely. She doesn’t have much hope, but she’s working on looking on the bright side.
atoll: if your muse could go anywhere, without any restrictions whatsoever, where would they go? why would they go there? To the bubbles. She hasn’t been able to go back since she was revived.
cool grey: if your muse could ensure one thing for certain in their future to come, what would it be? More power.
black: does your muse have a ‘bucket list?’ list some things your muse wants to accomplish before they die. Not really. She more or less has a constant To-Do list that she keeps updating.

“Lions, tigers, bears, oh my!” Everyone is used to hearing about the predators of the world, like, for example: cougars (either the promiscuous, tall, blonde, or actual mountain lions), and the sort of felines who won’t just tear at your dignity, but also your jugular. And it’s not just ferocious felines and their sexually over-experienced, female, human counterparts. There are many more predators than that: great white sharks, great blue herons, great-horned owls, greater roadrunners… not to mention the list of fantastic predators out there. But there are some super-predators; some apex predators that sit at the top of their habitat, reigning as kings, without most people ever knowing them to be such superior predators to the general mass of creatures out there. There are some tiny, unsuspecting, and fairly common animals running about, all around us, who are in fact super in their occupation as a predator. Would one ever believe that the smallmouth bass, the raccoon, the dragonfly, and even the domestic cat (that little sweetheart who completely dominates any household) are all super predators? There is an incredible and specific list of animals who reign as super or apex predators, and while some are given the title simply by cleverly living in an area with no predators above them, these creatures are no less fascinating, or important to the continuance of the biomes in which they thrive.
#1 The Bonobo Monkey The bonobo monkeys are the newest addition to the Great Apes (gorillas, orangutans, chimps, humans). Found in the South of the Congo, the bonobos are separated from the chimps by more than just geography. Chimps are known more for battling it out to gain status and be a significant part of their group, but bonobos are assuredly more interested in peace and love. Run by the females in the group, bonobo families use sex to settle disputes, and any sort of infighting… as well as any sort of outfighting, come to that. No matter the combination, young, old, male, or female, all can join in the festivities, and none are left out. This works the same for food collection, and while bonobos are omnivorous, and do therefore hunt for meat, the share is equal. Though there has been done little field research on these apes, due to strife in the Congo, and their timidity around humans, it is clear that, along with chimps, bonobos are the humans’ closest extant relative. With likely only 30-50,000 in existence, it’s surprising that a super predator, so heavily based on sex, should have such a small population.
#2 Brown Tree Snake Of all of the incredibly predatory and dangerous snakes in the world (cobra, anaconda, python, viper, rattler, etc), one might not consider the brown tree snake to be worthy of the status of super-predator. However, this relatively small (though fairly long— growing 1-3m/3-10ft) snake is dangerous in many ways— though not specifically to humans, at least in terms of its bite. Native to New Guinea and Australia (where everything tries to kill everything), the brown tree snake stowed away and found itself on several Western Pacific islands, including Saipan and Guam. An invasive species and very interested in anything from birds, to amphibians, to small mammals, the snake has eliminated both endemic bird species and two of three native bat species on Guam. Able to eat up to seventy percent of its own body mass per day, it’s no wonder that these hungry little snakes have destroyed so much of the ecosystems they have invaded. To humans they hold little danger as they inject venom with their back teeth and are unlikely to make contact with them when biting a human. In addition, the venom is rather weak to most small mammals, and would do little to nothing to a human. The only fear from people is that the snake will find its way to Hawaii and devastate creatures there that pollinate, and thus kill species of both plant and animal.
#3 The Common Raven This feathery creature, immortalized by Edgar Allan Poe, is one of the smartest predators on this list, and perhaps one of the most versatile with regards to geography. Thinner than a typical crow, but with a big butcher knife of a beak, the raven thrives in almost every part of North America (deciduous and evergreen forests, high desert, sea coast, sagebrush, tundra, and grasslands). No stranger to people, the raven has followed the progress of the North American people for centuries, scavenging and pillaging from waste, spillage, and full stores of untouched food. Subject to many problem-solving experiments by scientists, the common raven has stood out as one of the most intelligent of creatures to neighbour people. While they are typically lone travelers (save for when there’s a big carcass or a landfill nearby), common ravens are far from common, and always seem to have a spring in their step. Not to mention that ravens are highly inquisitive, and will therefore stick their beaks in peoples’ business as often as they can: observing probing, and weeding out just what’s going on.
#4 The Domestic Cat Oh this should come as no surprise to anyone. Anyone who decides they are a dog lover rather than a cat lover typically has issues of self-esteem, and the need to be a provider. Those who tend to call themselves solely cat lovers typically do so because they don’t want to constantly pay attention to or receive companionship from a dog. While cats can indeed be drama queens, and seek out attention in their own ways, it is often a means to an end (a nice brushing, a healthy feeding, an emptying of the litter box). The domestic cat knows who is in control, and knows just how to get what it wants. Dogs will offer loyalty and excitement for reward, whereas the domestic cat will offer its owner a chance to know ahead of time what it wants and when. If not satisfied, the domestic cat will certainly make it known until it is appeased. In all seriousness though, the domestic cat, given obviously no significant predators, is a very intelligent and conniving little creature, able to fend for itself. That being said, it prefers to have its work done for it so it can continue to lounge in its personal ray of sunshine on its own La-Z-Boy.
#5 The Dragonfly Besides the fact that the dragonfly looks absolutely terrifying up close, it is, in fact, a super-predator. Ancestors of the dragonfly have been found in fossils dating as far back as three hundred and twenty five million years old. Having since shrunk significantly in size, the dragonfly still reigns supreme in its habitat. Feasting on all manner of insects and creepy-crawlies, (as well as small fish when in its larva stage) this four-winged, compound-eyed specimen is divvied up into three thousand unique species. Most of these are tropical, but obviously there are still many that call the waters of North America home. The construction of the dragonfly, though perhaps seen as both simple and ugly, is in fact both complex and beautiful. The construction of the eye of a dragonfly, for example, can contain up to twenty four thousand ommatidia. These are basically individual lenses that are part of the compound eye of the insect. Each ommatidium is representative of one part of a full range of image, and each and every one of them must be processed together in order to fully take in surroundings.
#6 The Ferret These little weasel relatives are fierce little creatures, and are the domesticated version of the European polecat. Given their close relation, ferrets and polecats have sometimes bred a hybrid and feral species that has devastated much native fauna in New Zealand. Likely in domestication for nearly two and half thousand years now, the ferret has been used as a mouser, a rabbit hunter, and simply as a pet (though in no way a simple pet to keep). Happy to live in social groups, a community of ferrets is referred to as a business, and for good reason. The ferret, with its overwhelmingly quick metabolism, and affinity for meat, must feed frequently, but tends to sleep fourteen to eighteen hours per day. Given that, ferrets must get to business pretty quickly in order to sustain themselves. Much like skunks, ferrets have a scent gland that they use to secrete an odour when startled of threatened. Thankfully, the ferret’s odour is less potent and quicker to dissipate than that of a skunk. Also, when excited, a ferret will engage in what is commonly called the ‘weasel war dance’. In spite of the title, this clumsy bit of hopping into objects is actually an invitation to play.
#7 The Giant Otter Obviously not giant in the above photo, the giant otter can reach near two metres in length (6ft). These beastly South American relatives of the weasel are a huge difference from their tiny ferret cousins. Calling only the rivers and creeks of the Amazon, Orinoco, and La Plata home, the otters must eat six to nine pounds of food each day. Their meals consist largely of fish, but may be substituted by any combination of crustaceans, snakes, and other river creatures. Monogamous family creatures, giant otters dig and build dens in which to give birth and raise young. After the first ten months of nurture, the young emerge from the den, and it is already difficult to tell the young from the parents by this early an age. Very territorial and willing to aggressively defend their dens, giant otters are, thanks to human interference, a very rare creature indeed. Though a super-predator in its own habitat, hunting by humans has limited the giant otter population to perhaps only several thousand.
#8 The Honey Badger Refraining from linking the “Honey Badger Don’t Give A Shit” video here, suffice it to say that this “most fearless animal in the world” (according to the Guinness Book of World Records), truly does not give a shit. Able to take on bites by poisonous snakes, the honey badger, though perhaps in pain, will recover from incredibly toxic bites in under five hours. Honey badger youths are prevented by their mothers from catching snakes until requisite training has been had, but the fact that this mammal cares little about taking on venomous snakes is simply breathtaking. With more than sixty species of prey on the honey badger’s list, this little scamp will call crocodiles, black mambas, cobras, jackals, and wild cats dinner! And that’s not even to mention that the honey badger prefers to hunt alone! Traveling up to forty kilometres within a twenty-four-hour period, and hunting for two eight-hour periods within that twenty four, the honey badger has an intense amount of stamina and power.
#9 The Least Weasel This little weasel, who one might reasonably think is both the last and least when it comes to the food chain, is in fact one of the most vicious and villainous creature on this list. Though it prefers to chomp on small rodents, the least weasel will make due with birds, rabbits, frogs, and insects when need be. Because of its incredibly active lifestyle which involves hunting, mating and burrowing, the least weasel must consume forty to sixty percent of its own body weight each and every day. A very active hunter, the little weasel doesn’t stop there though. Typically hunting more than it can consume, the least weasel seems to get a thrill out of the hunt and will burrow any overkill it manages… though it is typical that the overkill is either scavenged, or simply left to rot as this weasel prefers the taste of fresh meat. Found now only in the state of Indiana, due to human interference, the least weasel’s over-preying is actually smiled upon, keeping rodent populations at bay in the state.
#10 The Peregrine Falcon Though almost made extinct due to pesticide use by humans, the peregrine falcon has begun to reappear in urban and coastal areas, as well as mountainous river areas, like the Oiseau Rock area of the Ottawa River. Though it’s clear that the peregrine is a falcon, and therefore a clear predator, the near extinction and relative amazement of this bird has persuaded this author to add it to the list. With females relative in size to standard crows, and males of much smaller stature, the peregrine falcon feeds typically on medium-sized birds (in cities, pigeons; in rural areas, ducks). Besides the incredible ability of a relatively small or medium-sized bird to snatch a duck out of the air, the speed at which the peregrine falcon does it is what makes it so astonishing. The fastest animal on Earth, the peregrine falcon has been recorded diving as fast as three hundred and ninety kilometres per hour (242mph)! A super-predator indeed, given another shot by rehabilitation, it will be interesting to see how they soar.
#11 The Raccoon While many might consider raccoon stupid and pesky vermin, they are incredibly intelligent, and skillful… and yeah, they might still be a pain to many people. Found in forests, marshes, prairies, and of course cities, the raccoon feeds on a wide variety of flora and fauna, and is able to do so by the use of its long fingers. Though, in spite of common belief, the raccoon does not have opposable thumbs, it does, nonetheless, have great strength and dexterity with its hands, which allow it to engage in many human-like activities. Given how much time raccoons spend around humans, it is no surprise that behaviours are adopted and adapted. Quick to catch, the raccoon dines on crayfish, frogs, and other aquatic life, when near rivers and streams. On land, the raccoon will feed on mice, insects, raid nests for eggs, and of course, open a trash can or two to feed on the leftover of wearied people.
#12 The Red Fox From forests to grasslands, and from mountains to deserts, the red fox has been able to adapt to habitats across the board for a long time. Even finding its way around farmland and suburban areas, to deal with people, and get a reputation for its cunning. The red fox is a solitary hunter, and while it may only survive in the wild an average of two to four years, it has a merry go at rodents, rabbits, birds, and other small game (giving it a film rep for stealing babies, for some reason). That being said, the fox will adapt its diet to its surroundings, adding to its super-predatory status. The red fox is not above feasting on fruits, vegetables, fish, frogs, and even worms. Though solitary, red foxes still communicate with one another, and signal not just by urination and scent marking, but also by the use of their stunning and vibrant tails; signalling warnings or invitations as needed. Birthing two to twelve pups per litter, both parents will stay with their young through the Summer months, training them to be on their own come the Autumn and Winter.
#13 Small Asian Mongoose As advertised in the name, the small Asian mongoose happens to be of smaller stature, originates from Asia, and is in fact a mongoose. Stretching from Iraq to China, and populating the island of Java, the small Asian mongoose has quite a playground. In addition to the areas it already inhabited, the little mongoose has been introduced to South America, Japan, Europe, and several Pacific and Caribbean islands as a means of pest control, ridding these places of both rodents and snakes. Though they mainly eat insects, these creatures will, as mentioned above, eat rodents and snakes, as well as crabs, frogs, spiders, scorpions, birds, and their eggs. With no known predators, this apex species has a surprisingly speedy gestation period of only forty nine days, where a litter of one to five youngsters are born. This may not be as surprising as initially thought, given that the creature has a life expectancy of only four years. With the luxury of an incredible expanse of play and hunting ground, the small Asian mongoose has much of the world in its claws.
#14 Smallmouth Bass That’s right! One of the most typical pan fries in the country homes of northern North American citizens, the smallmouth bass is indeed a super-predator. Found predominantly in the Great Lakes watershed, the St. Lawrence River, and northward above Lake Nipissing, the smallmouth bass resides in clear, and rocky lakes and rivers. Similar to the habitat of trout, but with the ability to thrive in a wider range of temperatures, this bass prefers either deep water, offshore shoals, or rocky crags and points near the shoreline. Typically found at one to three pounds, the record in Ontario at least, has been ten pounds, so a ten pound test line is always a safe bet when fishing these guys. In spite of the ease and frequency with which people catch and eat these fish, the smallmouth bass is a hunter and a great predator below the surface. Basically, it will feed on anything it can manage to swallow; plankton, minnows, smaller fish, and crayfish are definitely part of the smallmouth bass’ daily diet.
#15 The Tasmanian Devil This cute little scamp, made famous by the Warner Bros. Looney Tunes series, is indeed a vicious and devilish little creature. Quickly flying off the handle when threatened, fighting over a mate, or defending food, the Tasmanian devil will go into a rage, baring its teeth, lunging at any perceived threat, and uttering sickening, guttural growls. The world’s largest carnivorous marsupial, the devil can deliver, pound-for-pound, one of the most powerful mammalian bites. Strictly carnivorous, the Tasmanian devil will feast on snakes, birds, fish, and insects. Also happy to gorge on carrion communally, the devil is most rowdy when fighting over scraps of carcass with another devil. These creatures will eat every last bit of hair, organ, and bone that is afforded them, and with vicious quality. The title of devil was given to these marsupials when Europeans first landed in Australia, and witnessed the seemingly demonic actions of the creatures. Though they are now protected, the Tasmanian devils, who used to populate mainland Australia, are now only present on the island of Tasmania itself.

Name: Jane Porter Year: 7th Blood Status: Muggleborn House: Ravenclaw Title(s): Member of the Magical Creature Champions, SPEW, Wand: English Oak wood with a Phoenix feather core 11" and Supple flexibility
This is the rarest core type. Phoenix feathers are capable of the greatest range of magic, though they may take longer than either unicorn or dragon cores to reveal this. They show the most initiative, sometimes acting of their own accord, a quality that many witches and wizards dislike. Phoenix feather wands are always the pickiest when it comes to potential owners, for the creature from which they are taken is one of the most independent and detached in the world. These wands are the hardest to tame and to personalise, and their allegiance is usually hard won.
Patronus (5th plus): Robin
A symbol of spring, robin Patronuses often indicate a desire for renewal and rebirth within the wizard. They usually represent deep passion and a desire to enjoy life. Often, robin Patronuses occur in wizards who have experienced deep loss, as robins can be symbols of deceased loved ones returning.

Champion or Guardian?:
Champion—Jane’s from a Muggle family and she believes that Muggles could benefit a lot from magic. Consciously, she’s aware that there would be an uphill struggle in uniting the two worlds, but in the end, she believes it’s for the best. People don’t deserve to be in the dark about what the world has to offer! If they chose to reject the other side, that’s on them, but they have the right to chose!
Hogwarts, a Personal History:
When Jane Porter was eleven years old, she learned two very important things. One, she was a witch and there was such a thing as magic and she was going to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. And two, her mum was going to die.
It was a very tumultuous year. As Jane was shipped off to Hogwarts, she had to deal with the fact that her mum had Huntington’s Chorea and was likely not going to make it to age 50. Jane did her best to hold her head up high. She’d been told by the nice man who came from Hogwarts that she had magic and should be educated in it, and her parents, always proponents of education and expanding world horizons, encouraged her to go.
Jane loves Hogwarts. She loves exploring every facet of knowledge she can. The Sorting Hat promptly put her in Ravenclaw, though it briefly considered Gryffindor due to her thirst for adventure and determination. She believes that the best learning isn’t always done in a classroom, and enjoys her outdoor and hands on classes, like Care of Magical Creatures.
Now, when Jane was thirteen, she realized that because her mum had Huntington’s, she might as well. She did not bring this subject up to her parents, but she resolved to save her mother, and subsequently herself.
Because she has magic now, right? And muggle problems can be solved through magic. And no one in the Wizarding World got Huntington’s so there must be some cure out there, right?
Jane’s determined to seek this out. As her mother’s condition deteriorates, Jane grows more desperate, pushing herself to excel in her classes. But she does not let anyone know. She also does her best to explore every inch of the Wizarding World that she can, because if the cure isn’t in books or spells, then it just might be somewhere else.
At Hogwarts, Jane does well in all her classes, but excels particularly in classes that she’s really passionate about, particularly Carer of Magical Creatures and Arithmancy.
