Pairing: Yandere!Heimdall X Female!reader
Request (in summary [requested by @oyasumimosura]): Reader is the daughter of Kratos and sister of Atreus. She goes to Asgard with Atreus and is very protective of him. While she's there, she catches the eyes of Heimdall and finds out his feelings for her are far more deeper and darker than she thought. (So sorry this took so long! Also was worried about making Heimdall too OOC so I changed it a bit, hope you don't mind :))
Warnings: Just normal Yandere stuff, Heimdall being creepy and possessive (more towards the end), bit of swearing, some violence.
AN: YALL IM SO SORRY FOR NOT POSTING IN SO LONG 😭 I was busy and honestly didn't even know how long I didn't post in :') so have this request! Trying to clear out my inbox lol. I hope y'all like it cause I Def stressed trying to make it good sjnsj enjoy <3
————————————————————————
There was something so creepy about him.
The way he looked at you. Stared at you. He didn't even think about looking away when your gazes crossed. It was like he wanted things to be awkward between you both.
Not like you wanted any sort of relationship with Heimdall, but it would be nice if he tried to be a little hospitable, would be far better than whatever he was currently doing. Which was—not so shockingly—staring.
You shifted uncomfortably under his gaze, trying to act like you couldn't see him. Though, by now he probably read your mind and knew how you felt. Maybe that's why he kept doing it, he wanted you to feel extremely unwelcomed.
It wasn't like you wanted to come to Asgard in the first place. Your brother, Atreus, did. After a very heated argument back at Sindri's tree home, he ran off and sought out Asgard in spite. Of course he wasn't happy when you tracked him down, your father wouldn't be happy either—considering you went without his permission.
All you wanted was for Atreus to be safe. You'll be damned if you let your little brother get hurt by a bunch of piss-faced gods who think they're above everyone else.
With a sigh, you turned and walked away from the open area where Heimdall and a few other Aesir stood. Still, you could feel those eyes piercing through you like a spear.
"He's a weirdo, right?" You jolted, not expecting someone to talk to you. Turning towards the voice, you noticed Thor's daughter, "Um..."
She snorted at your awkward demeanor, "Relax. Everyone here thinks Heimdall is a jerk." You chuckled slightly at that, at least you knew you weren't alone.
"Im... glad to hear. Thrúd, is it?" She nodded. You've seen her talking to Atreus before leaving back at the lodge. Maybe she didn't have enough time to talk to you then, so she's doing it now. That or her parents didn't want her to.
"And you're Loki's sister, Huh?" She put her hand out, "Nice to meet ya!" Slowly you reached out and grabbed her hand, she shook it roughly. Seems like she's excited.
"He's told me a lot about you. Must be fun having a big sister. I've only had brothers." Oh, right. You remember her brothers, Magni and Modi—the ones father killed.
"Right." Suddenly the situation turned awkward.
"Always have to make newcomers feel threatened or uncomfortable, do you?" A hand landed on your shoulder, making you flinch and turn.
It was Heimdall again.
Good gods, how long was he standing there—was he watching you the entire time?!
This time he wasn't looking at you though, he was staring at Thrúd. She stared back, a frown on her face, "I don't always make people uncomfortable. Right?" She looked at you, making Heimdall do the same.
Both pair of eyes pinned you to your spot. Licking your teeth, you responded, "No, I don't think you do." This was literally your first time talking to her so you didn't know if what you said was even true. Hopefully it was.
Heimdall rolled his eyes, "Lies. Lies. But I will leave you to be her personal toy if that's what you'd like. Nine realms know she hasn't made a single friend since being pushed out." Stepping back, he bowed mockingly before walking off with a laugh. But you didn't miss the way his eyes lingered on you a little longer.
Thrúd scowl, "Don't worry about him. He's just being an ass as always. It's nothing new." You nodded. That was strangely relieving. Maybe he'd soon realise you weren't worth it and would leave you alone. Maybe.
____________________
He didn't stop.
Those purple eyes never left your form. They tracked your everywhere. It felt like not even walls could stop him, like he'd just burn holes through them.
Even now, as people talked and murmured amongst themselves in the dining hall, he didn't focus on them. He only focused on one person. You.
The only reason you were even there was because Atreus was. It was late, the moon was high, and he had only just gotten back from a mission Odin sent him on a few minutes ago. It frustrated you how much Odin kept you and your brother separate, and Atreus was too oblivious to notice it.
I need to speak to him privately. We can't stay here any longer, You thought, staring at Atreus as he munched on a piece of bread. It was probably cold.
Opening your mouth, you were about to call his name, but he cut you off by yawning. "I think that mission tired me..." He laughed sheepishly, rubbing his neck, "I'm gonna go sleep."
Atreus stood quickly, moving to leave the hall. "Wait-" You grabbed his shoulder, making him turn, "Atreus, I need to speak to you... In private."
He stared at you. His eyes swiftly glanced over your shoulder before returning to you, "Could... It wait until morning? I'm really tired..." Your brows furrowed. Why was he acting like this? "I- alright..." You let go of him, watching as he smiled at you, saying goodnight before disappearing down the stairs.
It bothered you that he clearly knew it was important, yet decided it could wait, but the look in his eyes told you something was off. And the way he looked past you—at what? At who?
Turning around, your eyes scanned the hall. And you noticed one person—one god—who wasn't there. Heimdall.
That bastard.
The large doors of the lodge swayed the tiniest bit, indicating someone just left, forgetting to close them properly maybe.
You weaved past a few servants in your way, not caring about what they whispered to their fellow acquaintances. You shouldered open the door more aggressively than intended, but you didn't care. Right now you had your mind set on confronting a certain Aesir.
It didn't even cross your mind that whoever left the lodge could have just been a random Aesir that likely didn't even know your name. But to your eyes only one person was missing from that room, and you would have noticed if he went down the stairs in the lodge, right?
Just in case, you kept one hand on the dagger attached to your hip. The one your mother gave you, since your father was far more detached from you when you were a child than he was with Atreus.
You shook the thought from your head. Now wasn't the time to reflect on your childhood. Things have changed. For better and for worse.
Slowly, you stalked through a smaller, narrower path connected to a larger one. It made you less likely to be seen by others, and right now you didn't need people being suspicious of you—far more than they already are—you'd add.
"Looking for me? I feel honoured." You turned around, finding Heimdall emerging from a gap between houses. It was just big enough for a person to make themselves comfortable between.
Not wasting any time, you asked, "What did you tell my brother?" You saw his lips turn upwards ever so slightly, but it was hard to make out his expressions when he was standing so far, in the shadows of the houses, caused by the moon's light.
"You caught onto that quick. Though," His arms raised, extending outwards, "I guess I shouldn't be so surprised. You're one of the smarter... Half-giants I've met. I mean it, really!" Could he answer your question any slower?
"I didn't ask if you think I'm smart. I asked you what the hel you told my brother." You saw his eyes roll. They were the only things that the darkness couldn't hide from you. Every second they glowed brightly.
"I only instructed him one thing..." Heimdall moved closer to you, stepping out of the dark and into the moonlight. Instinctively you pulled out your dagger, aiming it at him. He stopped moving, but by the look on his face, you doubted he was intimidated. "...that he stay away from you, or I'd hurt you in ways that he'd never imagine possible."
That didn't scare you, it may have you feeling a bit uneasy, but not scared. "Is that what you're here to do now? Hurt me?" "No. Something quite the opposite, actually. That is... If you comply." The hand holding your weapon to him didn't falter, not even as he took a step closer.
"You don't scare me, Heimdall." He took another step closer, you stood your ground, "That's exactly what draws me to you."
You scoffed, "My lack of fear for you?"
"That and the lack of consideration you put behind your actions. I mean, how many other people would put a weapon between themselves and I?" The tone of his voice grew more playful, as if the current situation didn't stress him, "When they know damn well it cannot stop me." It was clear it did not.
And to you It became increasingly more clear that you were in a secluded area. Hidden from any and all eyes expect Heimdall's. No one was around. No one could help you. No one would hear you.
He led you here. So you were with him and him only.
You gripped your dagger harder, the muscles in your arm straining, your breathing growing heavier when he stepped even closer, "Try anything and I'll kill you." He stared at you, a frown on his face. And you silently regretted saying that when he didn't speak.
It was tense. Quiet. All Heimdall did was stare into your eyes. You didn't dare tear your gaze away from his.
After a moment, he scoffed, before breaking out into laughter. Moonlight bounced off his golden teeth as he continued laughing, making them shine. "Do you..." He calmed himself down, still smiling widely, "Really think... That you can kill me?" He tutted, eyebrows furrowing in a way that made him look like he was staring at you with pity. "Oh, sunshine... That will never, never happen."
You dashed toward him.
As soon as the last syllable rolled off his tongue, you moved forward. The muscles in your arm burned at the movement, but it was a relief. They were finally able to move after being suspended in the air for so long.
You aimed for his throat. Your mission was to kill him. He gripped your wrist, yanking you towards him before throwing you into a nearby building. Your head banged against the wall and you hissed in pain. Weapon long forgotten, lost somewhere on the ground when Heimdall threw you. Everything became blurry and you closed your eyes for a moment.
When you opened them, Heimdall was kneeling in front of you. "Have we learnt our lesson yet?" His head tilted to the side, eyes staring into your half-opened ones.
Clear your mind. The words of your father echoed through your head. Do not let your enemy know your thoughts.
"No." Your left hand reached up to grip his braids, your right hand punching his face.
He stumbled back, groaning, his hand reaching up to his now bleeding face. You took your chance and ran, heading for the lodge. You needed to find Atreus.
The path seemed a lot more confusing on the way back, or maybe it was your racing mind making it seem like that.
You could hear Heimdall's rushing footsteps growing louder and closer. They were far more quiet than yours, but you could still pick up on them.
Finally, you saw the lodge come into view, the lights on it glowing brightly—but there was one thing that worried you.
Heimdall's footsteps stopped.
But yours didn't. Your legs kept moving. They went even faster now. Just as you were in a meter or two of the lodge, a hand gripped your arm, pulling you behind a house and back into the darkness as a hand covered your mouth.
You squirmed in Heimdall's grip, biting, kicking and doing whatever to try and escape.
Your teeth bit deep into his palm and he gritted his own teeth. The hand around your midsection, holding your back to Heimdall's chest, squeezed tight until there was little air in your lungs.
This caused you to stop moving, your head spinning once more. You heard Heimdall 'tsk', "Now now... Is this any way to treat your lover?" He finally released his hand from your mouth, trusting and knowing you wouldn't scream.
"You're a deranged fuck if you think anyone could ever love you," Venom dripped from your words, "Especially... when you do... stupid shit like this..." The little air in your body slowly disappeared with each word.
Heimdall noticed your struggles, and despite your words, he loosened the grip on your waist. You took in large gasps of air while Heimdall began speaking.
"True. Though being loved is a hard thing to do or come across now." His hand on your torso moved further up until it reached your throat. It didn't do anything, it just lingered there. "So sometimes, you just need to do things like this."
"I wonder why it's so hard for you..." He didn't like your tone. "Don't worry, you'll have plenty time to find out. It's not like you're ever leaving."
Your eyes narrowed, staring at the wooden wall in front of you. Before you could speak, Heimdall did, "And you will be staying here, sunshine. Unless you wanted your brother to have a... Painful death."
"Touch him and I'll-" you choked on your words when he squeezed your throat, stopping your breathing again.
"I won't touch him if you agree to what I'm proposing." His hand let go so you could breath, "And we both know you can't defeat me. So your best option would be complying." Not even the slightest bit did you agree to what he wanted you to. You hated him. This only expanded that feeling.
But your brother...
You wouldn't be able to live with yourself if he died.
"I'll make your life a living nightmare." It wasn't a yes or a no, as much as you wanted to say the latter.
There was a warm feeling on your neck and you recognized it as Heimdall's breath, "Even better. I love a good challenge. Hard to find one when you're a god of my capabilities."
Everything he said made you want to roll your eyes or curl you lips in anger. The hate you had for him was unmatched. The anger that filled your body when near him made you feel like exploding.
"I hate you."
He chuckled and it sounded like what a snowstorm felt like. Cold.
"I know. But don't worry... in time, you'll learn to love me."
No. No, you definitely would not.

Baldur (GoW) x reader, crushing and confessing headcanons?
This one will be easy enough. I hope I do it justice!
BALDUR X NB!READER HEADCANONS
Warnings: it's Baldur, there's bound to be broken bones or blood bc of some dumb crap he's done...
Rating: FLUFFY
Requested by: anonymous
★★★★★★★★★
Knowing Baldur, he doesn't know how to express his feelings very well. He's been sheltered, manipulated, you name it. (Plus his spell didn't quite help)
When he first laid eyes on you, he didn't know if it was true love or it was a phase. He might also thinks he has a stomach ache...if he could feel it at least.
He'd try to get his mind straight by fighting something or fighting one of his brothers. Like Thor or Heimdall because he's a hot headed asshole.
You on the other hand can't get him out of your mind!
Every time you see him he is either sweaty from working out, not even tired from it, or he's bloodied and bruised to Hel and back bc Heimdall was his sparing partner. No worries he heals pretty quickly. Especially when he sees you.
As time goes on you start to see less and less of Baldur. He's either tracking for Odin or something of the sort. Even Magni and Modi started going with him.
One day he finally worked up his courage to tell you his feelings, although it's pretty blunt and kinda sarcastic in a way due to his upbringing. He knew what love was just didn't know where to start but you said yes to him anyways.
Let's just say he nearly crushed you in a hug.
He did have the gentlest kiss though.
For the days you had spent with him were fruitful ones. That was until...he never came back...you swore you could hear his voice on the winds of Asgard speaking...
"Snow..."

Hello! What if Atreus has a dream in which he gets his siblings back and everything is flowers until his dream turns into a nightmare where Magni, Modi and Baldur take Björn and Revna away from him.
When he wakes up he gets depressed that his siblings won’t ever come back to him and that he won’t ever see them again. How do you think he comforts himself about this?
Broken Truth (Reading the ask): Paradise turned into a hell of that Jotunn? Sounds like fun to me. Now, let the wards weave together.
He had just returned from a hunt - a deer corpse dragging behind him as he closed in on the sights of his cabin before him, still in time just like the frozen snow around it and the dead trees that had lost all their leaves. The cabin door opened once he got close enough and 2 smiling faces greeted him before they ran out of the door and gathered around him with hugs.
"Elder Brother! About time you returned, we were getting worried about you!" Björn said as he looked up at Atreus with a smile that the bear cub was known for when he was younger.
"I am sorry, Björn & Revna. I was hunting but look at the bright side, I brought us a deer for dinner tonight. Is father and mother in the cabin?" Atreus asked but Revna was the one that answered him this time.
"Yes, Brother! Mother and Father were waiting on you to return! We stayed inside the chain, just like you said so can we go inside and eat some deer meat now?" Revna asked with a smile, and Atreus nodded as the 3 of them started walking to the cabin door. Still, suddenly, the sounds of rolling thunder were heard in the distance, and Björn and Revna stopped in their tracks and their heads were hanging low, the bangs of their hair covering their eyes.
Atreus turned and looked at his siblings who stood there like statues, he opened his mouth to speak but it closed when he noticed the thick fog creeping up behind the Bear and Raven, consuming everything in the background before stopping just behind Björn & Revna. Atreus dropped the rope that connected the deer and pulled out the bow and one of his arrows and looked in the fog as 3 figures walked from it and stood behind the twins, when their features became clear, Atreus' eyes widened and the air in his throat was caught.
Magni.
Modi.
Baldur.
The Sons of Thor and the Son of Freya were standing behind Björn and Revna as Magni and Modi placed a hand on each of Björn's shoulders while Baldur placed a hand on revna's Shoulder. All 3 of them had smirks on their faces.
"Get your hands off my siblings!" Atreus asked as he pointed his arrow at Magni and Modi but the chilling voices of Björn and Revna spoke to Atreus as their heads lifted and their eyes were glaring at him with hatred in their eyes - a familiar hatred.
"Keep your hands away from our brothers!" Björn yelled as he lifted his right hand - an electrical current radiated throughout his hand and shot out, hitting the bow and arrow out of Atreus' hand, and hitting him in the chest, sending him crashing into the door that didn't open, he slumped to the ground and looked at Björn as he lowered his hand.
"You took them from us before - we won't let you take them from us again," Revna said as Magni and Modi pulled Björn away from the site, the 3 of them walked into the fog and disappeared while Baldur did the same to her; leaving the Jotunn alone to reach out to the fog, crying for the siblings that left hime alone.
[Upon Awakening]
Light blue eyes opened and looked at the ceiling of the room where his bed lay - the snoring of his father was the only thing he heard besides the blizzard happening outside. Atreus lifted his upper half into a sitting position and looked around before his eyes fell on the door to Björn's Room and the realization of the dream came back to his mind. His brother was gone. His sister that was born from his body was gone. he was alone and there was nothing he could to about it.
'Björn... Revna... I need you to come home. I need you both with me. I need us to be a family again.' Atreus thought as he hugged his legs close to his chest.
"You miss them, don't you, Lad?" The voice of the wisest man called out from his position on the table nearby. Atreus looked over to Mimir, whose golden Bifrost eyes were glowing in the darkness of the cabin.
"I do miss them, Mimir; I need to have them back," Atreus said to the head who hummed before giving his council.
"Lad, The Bear and the Raven don't want anything to do with this family - with their own bloodline - that's why they shared their blood with a line that accepted them for who they are. Maybe it's best that you gave up on them until they decide they want to talk to you." Mimir's words made Atreus look at him with betrayal in his eyes.
"You want me to give up on my siblings?! What kind of talk is that?!" Atreus demanded to know.
"All I'm saying is this, Lad - Björn ran away because he was tired of the way he was being treated and Revna has his memories and doesn't trust you or your father. The Aesir have treated them kindly and given them what they need; what's more important: Where they are or how they feel?" Mimir asked causing Atreus to look at the ground.
That's a question he never asked himself nor did he know how to answer it.

Got anymore Magni and Modi interactions?
"Wake up."
Magni's eyes struggled to open, a yawn escaping his mouth. When he sat up in his bed he realized who commanded him. "Mother, I-"
"Stop. Stop right there." Sif's gaze turned to the sleeping figure next to him, stark naked next to her equally undressed son. "I know you have needs, Magni, but you know your grandfather's stance on bringing mortals to Asgard."
He smirked and placed a hand on the girl's back, earning a sleepy smile out of her. "I'll take her back to where I found her in Midgard, mother. I'll even play the gentleman and offer her company to take her directly home." Sif gave him a hard stare, and sighed. He always repeated the same tired offer of penance. She knew this wouldn't be the last large woman he brought home, nor would it be the last.
"We're not done talking about this, Magni. Do what you must and be discreet." Sif already knew how she would address the situation with her husband. Maybe his firm hand would put their son in his place and convince him to actually listen this time.
~~
Modi must have run through this obstacle course at least a thousand times, practically swimming through it like routine. Tyr enjoyed putting him through the ringer, always making him practice, practice, practice. With one final charge through a training dummy, Modi cleared through the obstacle course like a rampaging beast. "Excellent as always, Modi. Your time's improved." Tyr's compliments were pitiful.
"With all due respect, Tyr, I-" Modi swallowed his words when he saw his father's hulking figure next to the far taller and leaner Tyr. Thor gave him a steely look, as if daring him to show anything less than gratitude. "I... believe I could do better."
"I agree. Your swings, while strong, are lacking in speed. Bring your hands closer together for this next exercise." Tyr smiled warmly, something that always irked Modi. The God of War was as smug as he was tall, and he towered over Thor.
~~
Dinners among the Aesir were often great feasts and lasted all night, especially when the Vanir were also present. "I'm glad we could be together for this momentous occasion, All-Father," said Freyr, beaming brightly with a smile.
Grandfather and Freyr started discussing politics, which bored Magni to no end. If a situation couldn't be resolved with a fight, it wasn't worth his time or attention. Someone was, however, and he rose from his place at the long table and moved closer to her. "Mind if I sit here?" he asked, not hesitating to sit next to the fair Sigyn.
"To what do I owe the pleasure, Magni?" Sigyn smiled, her round face stretching a little as she did. Magni brushed the back of his hand against her cheek, smiling back.
"That soft smile of yours is all you'll ever owe me, dear Sigyn. Why don't you and I leave the feast early? I'd love to stargaze with you." A lie, but not to dear Sigyn. After Loki rejected her she was vulnerable, and she was always particularly soft on the eyes.
~~
The trees rustled as their target ran farther and father away. "You're going to let him get away." Modi knocked an arrow and pulled tight. He kept his eyes trained on the runner. "He's almost reached the barrier."
"Oh, shut up." Modi released his arrow and watched it shoot off as quick as lightning. He tracked it even as it fell through the tree line and hit their target. The mortal thief thought they could sneak into Asgard and steal from their grandfather. "They're pinned to a tree root; the arrow's half buried in them."
"Good. I'll sniff them out; go get Grandfather and the others and bring them to us." Magni took a deep sniff of a scrap of cloth from the thief. "How'd they manage to escape your grasp?" he asked, the smell of the thief catching up to him now.
"I allowed it. Grandfather will want to make an example of them, and giving them a false sense of hope by allowing them to escape will help drive home the lesson he'll teach them." Modi smirked before walking away, his boots crushing the twigs beneath his feet.
Magni couldn't help but smile at his brother's cruelty. "Perhaps you're not as stupid as I thought, brother." He started walking down the path, following the scent of the thief.

[ad_1] India to host the 2036 Olympics and Paralympics (PC: Olympic Council of Asia) India wanting to host the 2036 Olympics and Paralympics is a realistic dream. For those who wake up to the Olympics every four years and say a country with a population well in excess of a billion can win only a few medals, the mentality is different. Sadly, this mentality reflects the lack of a sporting culture in India. It also brings to the fore pessimism, since India have not won medals in bulk at a single edition of the Olympics. If that is the yardstick, does winning 29 medals in the Paris 2024 Paralympics not mean anything? It does, for these champions have battled against the odds to win medals. Thankfully, though, the awareness is increasing. More efforts are being made to provide ramps, treat para-athletes at par. Last week, there was a great photo of Paralympian Deepa Malik at the wheels of a SUV. The vehicle was designed especially for her, keeping in mind her medical condition. And the message which Deepa had posted was so emotional. Today, India is not just another country in the world. It is developing, in a real sense. The letter written to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) by the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) president PT Usha is worded in such a way which captures the essence of why India wishes to host the Summer Games. There is mention of culture, diversity, different religions (faith) and how India will receive the athletes and officials as guests. The Sanskrit phrase ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbam’ means the world is one family, and that has been used as a catchphrase to attract the IOC. To be sure, the IOC has not laughed at India’s interest in hosting the 2036 Games. There are many more countries in fray, Indonesia included. Why this becomes important is, Indonesia is also part of Asia, so two nations from the same region competing is good news. It is healthy competition. As for India, the country is on the right track. For the Latest Sports News: Click Here PT Usha and Indian Olympics (PC: X) At the start of 2024, there may have been instability in the minds of many, as the General Election was approaching. Now that the elections are over, there has been a strong push that India expresses interest to host the 2036 Olympics. The message has come from the highest office that India (IOA) should write to the IOC. There is no ambiguity in it. Indeed, India expressing interest to host the Olympics also means a host city has to be mentioned, officially. Unofficially, everyone knows, including nations abroad, Ahmedabad is the likely host city. Way back in 2021, when the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad had been redeveloped, there was a buzz that the city could host the Olympics. For those who say a ‘dry state’ cannot host an Olympics, that would be a lame excuse. Doha hosted the 2022 FIFA World Cup and a famous beer brand was not allowed to advertise near the stadia. It led to a furore as the company had coughed up big money. This, though, will be the least of the problems, should Ahmedabad and perhaps even one more city be chosen to host the 2036 Olympics. While Ahmedabad will be the main centre, another city could host a few events. There has been constant chatter, hosting an Olympics means huge losses and a drain on the economy. The letter from the IOA has talked of “job creation” and a young population which will gain from hosting the Olympics. To think only the taxpayers’ money will be splurged on hosting the Olympics is wrong. Today, India has many corporates who are willing to back the bid as well, though names cannot be mentioned. There are real estate and infrastructure to be developed. It is only after thinking about costs and projected escalation, which always has to be factored, India has written to the IOC on the Olympic bid. If India wants to showcase itself as a capable host, why should it be mocked? So many big events have been hosted by India, and the Olympics can also happen. And if someone says the IOA is in turmoil, that is not going to be a real issue.
When London hosted the Olympics in 2012, Boris Johnson was the Mayor. Even he faced flak from the Americans. Yet, London hosted a good Olympics. Navratri 2023: Triumphs of Unity, Empowerment, and Inspiration
#Navratri, the vibrant festival honouring the nine forms of Devi Durga, is also a celebration of womanhood and female empowerment. This year, Navratri 2023 is particularly significant as it marks the passage of the Women's Reservation Bill, a historic legislation that reserves one-third of the seats in the Lok Sabha and state legislative assemblies for women.
This Navratri, let us celebrate the resounding victory of women's power, resilience, and triumph. Let us honour the women who have broken down barriers, shattered glass ceilings, and paved the way for future generations. Let us celebrate the women who are leading the charge in all fields, from politics and business to sports and culture.
SheInspiresUs: A Movement of Triumph and Resilience
The SheInspiresUs movement, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2023, has become a rallying cry for women across India. The movement celebrates the colossal contributions of women in various fields and inspires them to share their stories and achievements.
SheInspiresUs is not just a hashtag; it is a movement of triumph and resilience. It is a reminder that women are capable of anything they set their minds to. It is also a call to action for us all to support and empower women in all spheres of life.
PM Modi's Garbo Song: A Harmonious Victory for Unity
In 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released a Garba song titled "Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat." The song became a huge hit and was celebrated for its unifying message and vibrant melody. The song was also used to promote the SheInspiresUs movement.
PM Modi's Garbo song is a harmonious victory for unity. It reminds us that despite our differences, we are all Indians united by our shared culture and heritage. The song also celebrates the diversity of India and its people.
Inspiring Indian Women: Shining Lights of Triumph
In 2023, Indian women from all walks of life have inspired us with their achievements and contributions to society. Here are a few shining lights of their triumph:
Droupadi Murmu, the first tribal woman to be elected President of India
Ritu Phogat, the first Indian woman to win a gold medal in wrestling for India at the Commonwealth Games
Harnaaz Sandhu, the third Indian woman to win the Miss Universe pageant
PV Sindhu and Hima Das, who continued to excel in badminton and track and field, respectively, winning medals at the World Championships and Commonwealth Games
Deepika Padukone and Arundhati Roy, who continued to inspire us with their work in the arts and culture
Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Chanda Kochhar, Falguni Nayar, and Nita Ambani, who have all made significant contributions to the business world
Contributions of women politicians and bureaucrats with noble thoughts in empowering Women are no less contributed. They have played a pivotal role in empowering women in all spheres of life. They have broken down barriers, challenged stereotypes, and created opportunities for women to reach their full potential.
A notable women IAS officer working towards PM Modi's vision is Hari Chandana IAS, she has launched several initiatives for women's empowerment, and her brainchild Aarunya is Enhancing the livelihood of the weavers and artisans of Narayanpet by promoting their art and selling their products worldwide. She toilets to stand for the dignity of women.
Together, We Rise
Navratri is a time to celebrate the triumph of unity in diversity. Every woman, every community, and every cultural expression represents a vibrant thread in the grand tapestry of life. Together, we create a symphony of empowerment and inspiration—a victory where diverse colours blend seamlessly, transcending differences and forging bonds of triumphant togetherness.
This Navratri, let us celebrate the resounding victory of women's power, resilience, and triumph. Let us stand together in solidarity and support women in all spheres of life. Let us create a world where all women are empowered to reach their full potential.
Jai Hind!

An additional source for this that proves my point.
From America's Democrats to Britain's Tories, Emannuel Macron's Ensemble coalition to Japan's Liberal Democrats, even to Narendra Modi's erstwhile dominant BJP, governing parties and leaders have undergone an unprecedented series of reversals this year. The incumbents in every single one of the 10 major countries that have been tracked... and held national elections in 2024 were given a kicking by voters. This is the first time this has ever happened in almost 120 years of records.
Do not take this as cope to simply ignore all the lessons we can take from our loss this year. Just keep it in mind before you eat each other.
I know I haven't posted in a bit, and I don't usually like to get too political, but:
I am very, very thankful I am fortunate enough to have moved from Texas to Massachusetts, and very, very upset the vast majority of people do not have similar options to me. It doesn't even protect me fully -- federal rights can supersede state ones, after all. The richest trans person in the world is still a trans person, and Project 2025 makes no distinction.
But I'm sorry. This was an election that was ours to lose. Everyone's out here pointing fingers, trying to find a scapegoat, and trying to argue that not enough support for their single pet cause was the reason we lost. But the reality is that It's the Economy, Stupid. We came out of a pandemic that obliterated our supply chains. Inflation and a warped view of the economy was always a hard hill to climb over, and all the social justices in the world don't mean much to people when they think their own livelihoods are at stake.
I am of the personal opinion that any incumbent this election would have lost. Even a republican. Was I hopeful that wouldn't be the case this time? Oh, absolutely! Will I still be bitter about it? Sure will! But no amount of charisma or campaign promises will ever climb over the burden of a 12 pack of Diet Pepsi going from $5 in 2020 to $8 in 2024. I think we tried to handle it the best we could. But every chart showing that inflation is cooling, that unemployment is low, and that we achieved a soft landing and avoided a recession does not matter when you pick up your grocery receipt and feel like you're paying twice as much as you did five years ago.
Don't mistake me for saying Trump would be better, though! He won't. And I will admit, there is a touch of glee I will feel over all the eCoNoMy voters getting to learn very quickly what tariffs are (and do), and the studies of their effects on washing machines. Does that offset the pain of the next 4 years, or justify the suffering of people far less fortunate than me? Fuck no. Spite can certainly fuel me, but it won't keep me warm at night.
I guess this is a lot of words for me to say I'm sorry. Sometimes you are dealt a losing hand. Doesn't mean we did everything perfectly, obviously. But there's no single fix, no single solution, that could have solved people being furious that eggs cost $4 a dozen now. We tried.
Protect yourselves, and try to protect those around you. If spite fuels your day-to-day, so be it. We have to wait and see anyway. I know I'm going to focus more locally for the next 4 years (hopefully to get more housing built, so more people can move here).

‘Leaf Wearables’ wins $1M for women's safety device ‘SAFER Pro’
SAFER Pro, a smart safety device that sends emergency alerts with location details to users’ guardians when they sense danger, from New Delhi based Leaf Wearables, was awarded on Thursday June 7, 2018, $1 Million Anu & Naveen Jain Women's Safety XPrize, at the United Nations in New York City. SAFER Pro is a small chip that can ultimately be put into any device or jewelry with a discreet emergency alert button. When the alert is received, it additionally lets you record audio from the time of the alert. Leaf Wearables, an Indian start-up by Manik Mehta, Avinash Bansal, and Niharika Rajiv, the students of Delhi Technological University (Delhi College of Engineering) and IIT Delhi, were also chosen amongst the top 10 innovative startups in India by Department of Science and Technology who accompanied Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his visit to Silicon Valley to participate in first India-U.S. Startup Konnect in September 2015. Leaf Wearables’ Manik Mehta said, “It was in 2012 that the Nirbhaya rape took place in Delhi,” adding that it was then that they decided: “Enough is enough. Delhi is unsafe and things are not changing at all. We have got to solve this problem.” XPRIZE incetivises world’s brightest minds to solve humanity's toughest problems and partners up to create specific challenges aimed at getting small companies to create products that can help to achieve the goals. One of these challenges was the $1 million Anu and Naveen Jain Women's Safety XPRIZE, launched in October 2016 by entrepreneurs and philanthropists, Anu and Naveen Jain, to address the safety of women and girls by leveraging technology that challenged innovators around the world to create a device that can inconspicuously trigger an emergency alert if a woman is facing a threat and transmit information to a network of community responders, all within 90 seconds and costing under $40. A diverse range of 85 initial teams from 18 countries including, United States, India, Switzerland, Canada, Spain, Germany, China and United Arab Emirates, accepted the challenge. Among all competing teams were app developers, technology researchers, top-tier academic institutions and startups working toward safety for women worldwide. The five finalist solutions were tested to see how the devices might fare across a variety of environments including high rise office buildings, college campuses, in public transit, and at home. Devices ranged from smart jewelry that can trigger emergency alerts to other wearables that detect physical gestures and speech recognition for emergency triggers. Most importantly, all of the solutions from the finalist teams work in areas of no cell connection. The other finalists were: - Artemisfrom Lausanne, Switzerland, Led by Dr. Nicee Srivastava, is developing a device that can be used to trigger an alert not just by a gesture, but also by seamlessly tracking emotional threat levels. - Nimb & SafeTrek from Los Altos, CA and St. Louis, MO, United States, Led by Leo Bereschanskiy and Nick Droege, Nimb collaborates with SafeTrek to provide their customers an option to call for professional emergency services with just a touch of the thumb. The company was founded in response to rising concerns about safety on and off campus. Both teams work together to make the world a safer place. - Saffron from Bellevue, WA, United States; Tsinghua, China, Led by Nicholas Becker is collaboration between the University of Washington and Tsinghua University through the Global Innovation eXchange (GIX), focused on developing wearable sensors and machine learning algorithms to create inconspicuous technologies that improve the safety and well-being of women around the world. - Soterra from Bethlehem, PA, United States, Led by Lena McDonnell used a combination of global positioning services, cellular data and bluetooth to build a versatile, reliable and affordable network to connect women to emergency support systems. “Through XPRIZE, we made our philanthropic efforts targeted for exponential impact and spurred breakthrough solutions for women and girls’ safety farther and faster. To anyone who wants to make a radical difference in the world, we need to empower them to take action,” added Anu Jain. Anu Jain said at the award ceremony, “Safety is a fundamental human right and shouldn’t be considered a luxury for women. It is the foundation in achieving gender equality.” “Women safety is a global problem, it’s a global epidemic. A safe environment for women is a fundamental human right, it should not be considered a luxury and yet in today’s world, with so much advancement in technology and innovation, we still have not been able to solve this problem”. Dr. Peter H. Diamandis, founder and CEO of XPRIZE said, “I wish to also congratulate Leaf Wearables and all of the teams who competed in the Women’s Safety XPRIZE. Watching the winning solution in action in communities and college campuses helped us to demonstrate that breakthrough solutions are borderless and exponential technology can help aid humanity in our most challenging global issues like universal safety.” Read the full article

wait i am a hindu but diaspora so i probably miss out on a lot so pls don't mind me asking :/ other than kashmir (which is obviously a huge issue) how are muslim rights being violated in mainland india? like pls pls correct me if i am wrong but i don't see muslims as a vulnerable minority? a minority, yes, but india has in general been pretty good with that. like idk my mom was chased out of her neighborhood at knifepoint during muslim riots and there were no legal repercussion so idk idk
your mom's experience and pain are of course, very valid, but modi and his govt. are hindu nationalist and they see islam as kind of the polar opposite of hinduism and "hindu values". while modi himself remains particularly quiet, his right hand man, amit shah, has no problem talking about muslims with disdain, calling them "invaders", saying shit like "india will never be muslim-mukt (free)", and this is just shit he says. there's a lot more shit that their govt does, especially the citizenship (amendment) act of 2019, which protects people who are facing religious persecution in neighbouring countries from the proceedings of illegal migration, and fast-tracking the process of indian citizenship for them. the problem, of course, is that it excludes muslim people, because, as the govt said, "they can seek refuge in islamic nations"... which completely goes against india's identity as a secular nation.
and if that wasn't enough, the modi govt has spent the odd 7 years that it has been in power, in both state govts and on the central level, spreading misinformation and islamophobic propaganda that elevates hinduism and paints islam and its followers as villains. it's the basic technique of othering the minority, calling them suspicious foreigners, creating a false image in the eyes of the hindu majority. uttar pradesh's chief minister, yogi adityanath, has said on camera that (according to him) "hindus and muslims cannot live peacefully in the same country" like it's an infallible, uncontested Truth. media that is biased towards the BJP is known for under-reporting and being dismissive of discrimination and hate crimes faced by muslims, usually at the hands of hindus, like mob lynchings over cows and beef, while never shutting up about any kind of crime by muslims, and conspiracy theories like love jihad (which is objectively islamophobic btw). i don't think i need to point out just how similar their entire idealogy is to those of nazis and white supremacists in western countries.
there's a lot more to this than i have said, but one of the scariest facts about their hindutva bullshit is that it works, especially on poor hindus, who form the majority of india, because it gives the govt a scapegoat for their own mistakes. it breeds fear of something non existant, which then turns into anger. and that's how you see people crying about "hinduphobia"... in a hindu majority country... under an extremely hindu-positive govt. but it's not just them. i have seen with my own eyes how over the past 7 years, my grandfather, who has always been a very peaceful and tolerant person, who has worked with muslims for years before retiring, has now gradually turned hateful towards them, and all it takes is 1 misleading whatsapp forward. here's a few articles to read up further on this, because my reply is neither complete nor concise lol:

Tips for NEET and JEE Aspirants
Hello everyone~ Now that the exams are finally scheduled, it's necessary to plan your time properly in order to ace it. Below are some points I have learnt in these past years which is also helping me a lot!📝👍
1. Revise, but smartly. 📚
I know. Many of the students feel confused in the last moment as to what to do and what to read exactly now that the time is less. So, one great option is to switch to online lectures provided by different institutions. They are quick and will be easy to understand. A heads up, do not always just watch lectures. It is also important to self study. So, when you are free, take your notes and just give it a read.
2. Do not OVERTHINK. 😵
As exams approach near, anxiety and stress takes place in our mind. Negative thoughts tend to occupy our mind, making us more distracted from our work. This problem has got only one solution. Try to focus yourself on your work. Think how many more works do you have to cut off from your today's to do list. Don't panic. You will be okay and these thoughts will never come to your mind.
3. Take breaks, do something you love.🥰
Have you ever seen a machine working non stop? What's the result? It becomes damaged after some time, right? The same goes with your body. While it's important to devote yourself to studies, it's also important to free your mind for sometime, so that when you start your next study session, you will feel refreshed rather than being tired. In breaks, try to do something you love. For example, you can make your favorite drink, listen to some music, comb your hair, paint, or just look at the nature. Remember, rewarding yourself will make you feel that studies are fun, and not a burden.
4. Give yourself daily motivation. ✌
It's often seen that aspirants start very hard and tend to lose productivity afterwards. Now the reason is that, something has inspired them very much to pursue that as career. But along with the passing time, the motivation streak moves in the backward direction, so is the engagement with studies.
What you can do is just watch something related to your career like your favorite doctor's lectures, or maybe imagining yourself how you will feel when you achieve your goal. I think that's enough to get you back in track. One book I would highly recommend for motivation is Exam Warriors by Narendra Modi. It's really beautiful how he has put almost all the difficulties a student faces along with their effective solutions in a book. You will enjoy reading it.
5. Take a break from Social Media. 📱
This is vital. I see it as the main thing that distracts many aspirants from their goal and stunts their potential. Even if it's for a week, delete your social media from your cell phone. If you find it difficult, then you can put a lock in your phone when you study, so that you can't easily access them.
Even though social media provides temporary pleasure, but for long term, it is definitely harmful and deviating. I really like a quote by Duolingo(a language learning app)-
"Studying a language for even 15 minutes a day will one day make you master it. But what does 15 minutes of social media do? How does it benefit you?"
6. Can't focus? 🤔
This is a frequent problem I also faced. I tried to wake up early for studying, but often found myself staring at my notes for the first 10 minutes. Don't worry, many students have this problem. But they say, every problem has a solution hidden. What I did was, everytime I couldn't focus, I would go and wash my face, return to my desk, and write whatever I was thinking. If you are not thinking anything, just write this three times- "I deserve the best. I will achieve my goals. I will be a ___________ (for example, in my case, it's a good surgeon) SOON. You will see that your mind will trick you to get to work for your dream.
7. You are important. Take care of yourself. 😇
You have seen how much of a havoc CoVID 19 caused. So, it's necessary that you should be fit, both mentally and physically. Study, but don't burn yourself out. Ensure that you are sleeping for at least 6 hours per day. Meditate, dance to your favorite music, or do things in your leisure time that make you happy.
Studies make you learn something new about the world everyday. You have a lot of potential. All you have to do is train yourself to achieve your goals. All to best! (to me, also ^^;)
