experience / how many years : oh, gosh. well, i've sort of rped earlier than tumblr, but it was a long time ago. i'd say i started on tumblr in maybe 2013? 2012? i ran a game of thrones fashion blog lmao and an rp hit me up for a promo. i was like, this seems cool and joined. then i joined hellstate in 2015, which was a zombie rp and where i met velouria! we've been writing together ever since both in groups and indie.

best experience : i miss group rp a lot sometimes, because of the shared universe and like community there. i think hellstate was my best experience and like 2015 hellstate was peak. there's so much like shared lore and it's really fun when a group works. velouria has had quite a few amazing brainchildren we've built together, so maybe another fave would be southboundhq, which deserved so much more time! now we work on verses and that's p great. aside from that, i've really been enjoying this account since i started fresh. i've got quite a few people to write with who seem both interested in worldbuilding/their own muses and in mine as well. so thank you all!

rp pet peeves : oh, gosh. weird vocabulary fads? like eyes being called hues. there's nothing really wrong with it, but it makes me laugh at how things like that really catch on in the rpc. when folks don't have much to add in plotting conversations and it feels sort of like you're the only one keeping the conversation going. i feel too awkward! i can't do it!

fluff, angst, or smut : oh, gosh, angst. i don't write smut and i'm not really super into fluff either? unless it's like a little meme answer or drabble, which can be a nice refresher. but i'm here for the horror and drama okay.

plots or memes : i like a loose plot, but i'm very go with the flow. it's more exciting though to have an idea where we're going with something. i think that's why my open starters are so long lmao because i need to paint a clear picture of where it's going.

long or short replies : i like a short reply for when i'm trying to break out of a writer's block or, like right now, dusting off my writing cap. they almost always turn into much longer replies though. i can't stop myself. i want like 87 paragraphs and i have no chill.

time to write : has to be nighttime, babies. i have a pretty great couple hours like 8 nights a month where i can really get to writing. it's always after my kiddo goes to sleep and my spouse is working (unless we're like parallel playing and he's gaming or cooking or something, then i get a little more time).

are you like your muses : oh, there's definitely aspects of myself in most of my muses. or people i know. or i write muses to work through certain things (i.e. neve has a lot of job similarities/family history for working through some trauma, nadja has some old punk rock memories and sort of an amalgamation of old friends and my mom, miguel has sort of similar personality to my partner, etc.) i sort of just steal elements from myself or people i know and mold them together into someone new. but i don't think i share like an overall personality with any of them.

i am very slowly working on building my own d&d world as i love d&d / critical role / dimension 20, and I am also working on a couple novel ideas and a lot of poetry.

i started rping technically in about 2009 with some of my friends, a lot of which was a combo between pen and paper, as well as using facebook messages to rp, and it was a lot of naruto / bleach / whatever anime we were all into at the time worlds that we rped in. i definitely had a very overpowered and mary sue-ish character, though i've tried to do a lot of work in making my characters less like that and more like, reasonably powerful / odd in relation to the world they're for and the lore i've built for them? if that makes sense.

i didn't rp for about four years and then picked it up again sometime in 2016 where i did tolkien rp (which was actually quite fun) and then i proceeded to go more into the video game direction for what universes and characters i wanted to rp in, and up until about last year, i only rped as my own original characters because i was way too scared to try my hand at canon characters. the most i did canon-wise was write characters that were canon adjacent, such as one of my current muses, though the blog is on hiatus rn, who is the good hunter / ashen one / chosen undead for the souls games, and that is the closest i got until friends got me into genshin and eventually this blog was born.

i did rp the most consistently during the 2018-2020 period probably, with ocs, but with life in general i tend to take a couple month long breaks periodically.

ladies and nonbinary folks are the muses i'm most comfortable with (and definitely part of why i headcanon so many canon characters as being nonbinary), though over the last year / year and a half, i really have been trying to write more men and get more comfortable writing men. so, even though i sort of default to nonbinary folk and ladies, i also do enjoy writing men, even if i still feel like i struggle with them a little bit sometimes.

FLUFF:  i can not stress how much i love fluff. i love it so much, and it always brightens my day!

ANGST:  i enjoy it! i have learned that i do have to be careful to not write too much angst with nothing else, esp if there's a lot going on irl because it just isn't good for me, but as long as i can manage it well (which i'm pretty good at by now i like to think), then i actually really enjoy doing angst. especially if it's a thing that can help with character development. plus, i have a lot of sad thoughts about my muses so, it works lol.

SMUT: i'm pretty chill with it! i like smut, though i am very out of practice with it lmao, and it's not something i've done too often. i'd be open to doing it more, even though i do tend to gravitate towards fluff the most, if i can combine smut with fluff or angst, then i'm definitely groovy lol.

PLOT / MEMES:  i don’t mind either approach honestly, though i feel like i struggle with plotting sometimes so i tend to do memes more. however! i would like to do plotting more / get better at plotting. on the other hand though, i love memes so much, and i do like to hoard them sometimes, so yeah. i really like both though i tend to do more memes even though i am trying to definitely be better about plotting.

If the character ain’t complex, I’m going to end up dropping them or barely writing them. Or more so, if I can’t really dig deep with the character, it’s never gonna work. That doesn’t mean there aren’t exceptions, but my most active muses are usually characters that have a lot of depth to explore. I mean [gestures at this blog].

𝗙𝗟𝗨𝗙𝗙: Fluff is great!! My only issue with it in threads (versus uncontinued asks) is that, without more to the thread, I often end up losing muse and dropping it. If there’s momentum in the thread (the thread is going in a certain direction) OR if the fluff itself is enabling relationship buildings/character or relationship exploration, that’s fun! But directionless fluff tends to be better for uncontinued asks imo.

𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗦𝗧: Oh, you know I’m a big fan. Particularly hurt/comfort (because I like happy endings), but I enjoy exploring angst in general. There are times I’m not in the mood for straight-up angst, but it’s uncommon.

𝗦𝗠𝗨𝗧: I enjoy writing smut, especially in a well-developed ship. If we’ve really spent time establishing the relationship and their dynamic, smut can be really fun to explore. I do sometimes have to be in the right mood to write it, tho.

Memes are so good for giving room for creativity, plus as a first interaction. Plotting is something that, at this point, is mostly reserved for people I’ve written with awhile and had some level of ooc interaction with (it’s the social anxiety). I personally feel that plotting only works when one or both people have a definitive idea(s)—which is why I no longer do plotting calls. If you wanna hit me up about something on my wishlist (or on yours!), I’m game. But trying to plot from nothing make my whole brain go blank lmao

Leonard's Paedophilia - Some Thoughts

So,,, yeah under the cut since this can be some triggering stuff and talks just a LITTLE about trauma from sexual abuse so be warned (it mostly just is me talking about what I think happened and some results of me glancing at a few wiki pages)

So uh,,, I decided out of sheer boredom and hope to better understand Leonard's character to do some research into the causes of paedophilia and the overall theme seemed to be reduced gray matter and/or/because of injuries in the front and mid portion of the brain (I'm certain about the frontal part, though I might have to check again to see if it was the mid-portion or something else). Of course, there is also it stemming from trauma as well.

As for my thoughts on it I honestly just think that it was an unfortunate accident/genetic(?) thing,,, moreso accident bc y'all KNOW the shit in 1067 wasn't too great,, of course there are a VARIETY of different things you could do with this, but like,,, for the sake of remaining respectful and wanting to portray Leonard the best I can, this is what I came up with.

Childhood sexual abuse seemed to be a very prominent factor in the people themselves becoming paedophiles down the line, either as a "coping method" or a plain and simple trauma response. I honestly scraped this first for a variety of reasons, mostly that it didn't fit, like, at all,,, and just,,, while it is very real it’s tiring just seeing victims of sexual assault turning into the abusers themselves and nothing else Second biggest theory regarding the origins of paedophilia in adults was about head trauma as a child, especially under 6 years of age. the idea is that it messes up the temporal While I find this whole theory to be,,, nice???? Perhaps a bit more fitting (Especially to my own rped kind of Leonard, who is as close as I can make it but with a few extra hdcs and lore,,, like how I headcanoned him to be a complete and utter klutz as a child.). I always had liked the idea of a butterfly effect, and the thought of a small accident from childhood leading into far greater consequences in the future, but that’s also where my main issue with this arises. It’s nice, fitting for the character in both my RPed version and even canonically (My headcanons being based on canonical Leonard), but I wouldn’t say it’s fitting for the tone of the story. There’s one that wins out for that. Genetic inheritance/Unfortunate mutation. In a lot of Yoko Taro stories, it seems a lot of times characters are thrown into hopeless situations and either end up being corrupted and/or broken by them or, if they already are corrupted, worsening it by their own hands. Caim’s parents being killed was ultimately out of his hands, it ended up shattering him and in many cases his bloodlust is what drives the game forward by substantially ruining or not actively looking to fix the situation. Inuart never had the slightest idea Furiae would be chosen as goddess, but eventually the protectiveness that grew for her in this situation lead him to being used by the Empire. Just about every character in not just Drakengard, but the Drakenier series in general follows this sort of character-driven pattern, which is why I think the incident that was out-of-hands for Leonard was his own birth. Being born with issues in the frontal and center areas of the brain (That in a VERY small nutshell deals with reward systems, compulsivity, and serotonin levels), worsening that situation (The deaths of his brothers while he was out-you-know-what) and thus setting the plot forward is just,,, a very Drakengard-ish way of handling things. The reason for Leonard’s paedophilia is never stated in the game, or even any of the side materials (From what I’m aware of, I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if there was something lmao) and I’m honestly glad for it, because not only can I feel selfishly proud it inadvertently proved my little theory/view of it (If you can even call it a theory), but it’s just that: There is no reason. Sometimes people are just born like that. It’s a hard truth, but Drakengard isn’t really the most pleasant of games and Leonard isn’t the most pleasant of characters. I love the character because of his controversy and his writing which really allowed me to just sit back and remember “Damn, I hate to admit it but like,,, even the worst kinds of people are human, and that makes them individuals with like,,, nuance and shit” ??? if that makes sense. All in all, I honestly think they did a great job writing Leonard’s character and keeping respectfulness and awareness at the forefront. While I would have liked to see it put a bit more boldly and have it explored more (Reminder: There was gonna be a LOT of shit about Leonard’s past and his whole deal from the sound of it. But only scenes unanimously approved by the board were allowed. WHAT FUCKING SCENES ABOUT HIS PAST GOT IN BESIDES THE INTRODUCTION???? is it a secret code I gotta put in the game settings???? 0723, right??? right??????), I can really understand they had both Yoko Taro and Takuya Iwasaki on a leash during the development of this game. maybe next time, folks. The story behind why he can stand on one foot for 24 hours, though, I’m free to make whatever shit up I want about that. and trust me, i have.

How is it like writing with Jae or any other writers? Is there anything that’s particularly easy or hard when you co-write? Or anything else? I just wanted to ask because I’m considering co-writing with someone for the first time! Thank you 💞

Hi anon! I've answered an ask similar to this here. But I've got more specific thoughts under the cut now that I've been RPing a few months.

First of all, and this may not be true for everyone, I see RPing and co-writing as different. In my experience, RPing means you take on a character and you're "in charge" of their actions, thoughts, and dialogue. The other RPer responds to what your character is doing/saying. Other characters might be managed by one RPer or both, or negotiated/discussed beforehand for what they're going to do and say.

Cowriting is more flexible. In the past, I've cowritten with friends by brainstorming together or taking turns writing scenes or chapters. In my experience, we discuss a lot more detail so we "know what's coming" with what the characters are thinking or doing or what happens next. In contrast, RP has a bit more of the element of surprise to it (though you can discuss and plan out all the details for your RP too.)

Betareading / Alphareading / Editing is usually one writer and one person who reads over the first draft. This can be someone who proofreads, someone who helps plot out the rest of the story, or someone who suggests changes to the plot/characters/etc. That being said, I've had betareaders who were involved so closely they basically co-wrote the story; just this weekend, Jae and Kiki helped me hammer out a few scenes in a fic to decide how they should end; and I've also had folks just do a grammar check for me to keep an eye on the commas.

What's Easy

Motivation is really easy. You're responsible for less, which means you can take the writing process in as-small or as-large quantities as you want. If I want to send Jae two sentences, I can; if I want to send her twenty paragraphs, I can. Sometimes that changes depending on my energy, the scene, and what I have time for.

The back-and-forth nature of cowriting and RPing also means brainstorming and developing ideas is really easy. You always have a friend to go to to discuss ideas, talk about the future of the story you're writing, or think about which direction you want to take if you brainstorm multiple options

Depending on how close you are with the person you're collaborating with, talking about something you want to change could be easy or could be hard.

What's Hard

Productivity is a mixed bag. On the one hand, you can write a lot of rough draft very quickly. But the initial quality of that draft may be lacking, and if you're waiting to hear back from someone then you're not necessarily "moving forward" with your fic vey much.

For example, Jae and I have drafted 1,500 words this week in an RP. I also drafted 15,000 words this week for a fic. But a few months ago, Jae and I RPed about 30k in a weekend while I independently drafted about 700 words. It just depends on the story and time availability and what you're able to do. And having those "bite-size chunks" for yourself with the back-and-forth can help a lot.

And keep in mind: any rough draft is better than no rough draft.

The only other tough spot I've found is sometimes (especially with RPs) scenes can get into a bit of a loop. As in, if you and the person you're writing with don't know exactly what should happen next, your characters end up waiting for something to happen without the other ever initiating anything. I like to think I'm pretty good at throwing curveballs in to spark some action, and of course you can always just go back to the drawing board with the person you're cowriting with.

Above all else:

1. Keep your expectations manageable. You do not need to reply right away. Neither does the person you're working with.

2. Speak up when you need to. If something needs to change, or the ball needs to get rolling because everyone's been sitting around for 500 words, then talk about it.

3. RPing and cowriting with people you're already friends with tends to be easier, but there's always always always more to learn from other writers and creators. So jump in, bring as many ideas to the table as you can, and be kind to yourself and your cowriters.

I looove communication. I looove energy. I looove collaboration. I can work with impulsivity and spontaneity much better now than before, due in parts to my greater experience and this muse (god forbid Nyna be spontaneous, lmao; and the spur-of-the moment inspirations and/or swerves keep this form exciting), but I still can’t just start a thread from nothing/canned ideas or completely wing it with zero feedback from my partner, especially if (1) it’s a major interaction or (2) the characters have no substantial reason to interact otherwise. (Though you could argue that too much reason to interact is as much a hindrance, though maybe it’s the canon-ness that stifles my inspiration. Sorry, fellow Eagles...) There’s a reason you nearly never see those one-line starter memes on Caspar’s blog: I tried that with Nyna and Belf, and it just didn’t work for me. I much prefer having unique ideas hit me in the energy of the moment or conversation so that I can send them in a personalized ask-starter--much better than canned ideas, imho. The partners I vibe best with are ones who bring as much energy/ideas to the table as I do, who mirror my energy in OOC chatter, and who go “yes! and...” or even “yes! but...”. Partners who simply go “yes (smile)” or "y’know, I can like, totally work with whatever... (dismissive)” don’t really work well for me, the first because if I wanted to drive the plot myself I’d write fanfic (thankfully this hasn’t been much of an issue in this group), and the second because I can’t work with that much freedom.

Then and now, I just have So! Many! Ideas! that I HAVE to vent them all out to my partner. I also hate disorganization, and will pre-arrange all the ideas I get at any given time in advance. (Some of this is informed by Gaia experiences (see the other end of this paragraph), and may thus accidentally come out as a “My Way or Else” by virtue of me not putting a question mark in there anywhere or so, but please know that anything I spew is always open to improvement or veto.) Anybody who’s RPed with me will have been bombarded at some point like this; the more frequently it happens, the more I like the mun, muse, and/or thread concept. (Quite likely all three end up informing each other. My one thread with Sylvain is a prominent example.) However, the less distanced I was from my fanfic-writing days, the more rigidly expectant I’d be that my ideas would be accepted as The Plot(TM). This mostly applies to my Gaia days, when some of my partners were so passive and “yes (smile)” (or worse) that I felt like I had to carry the whole thing myself. I should hope I’ve gotten better about this. Nowadays, I can work with more freedom than I may have given back on Gaia, and I generally haven’t run into any distressingly passive muns in this group. Everyone has something to bring to the table, which I LOVE.

hey guys! im lina! im 18 and im in the cst timezone. im currently a freshman in college and ive also been rping for like 6 years now ( i started on the neopets chat boards. if thats not an embarrassing fun fact idk what is ) but i havent rped since this summer since school was and still is kicking my ass. im really into musical theater, marvel & dc, and disney! i also used to be a lifeguard at a great wolf lodge for 2 years so if u want any funny stories about stupid children, or even just wanna be friends, lmk! im also SUPER sorry this intro is so late. i was gonna do it yesterday but then my friends wanted to hang and it kinda went downhill from there. im actually posting this like 20 min before i have a lab practical so i wont be able to reply until late tonight, but like this post to plot or anything!

some fun facts abt elijah:

he was adopted when he was around 3-4? he was abandoned and left on the back of a merchant cart headed to corona, where he was then discovered and then put into the local orphanage since no one was sure where he came from or who left him. all he had was a stuffed bear (named wooly), a basket of water and fruits to eat, and a letter that explained that:

his name was elijah

he was 2 (born on february 28th)

his parents couldnt care for him, so they hoped he would be found by a kind soul who could either take care of and love him, or else get him to someone who could

they loved him and only left him in the hopes that he would have a better life

he lived in the orphanage for almost 2 years and the few months before the 2nd anniversary of his arrival, rapunzel & eugene visited the orphanage that eugene grew up in and fell in love w/ eli, promptly adopting him soon after. he barely remembers anything about his abandonment and time in the orphanage, but always wanted to find his birth parents and let them know how he turned out. he kept the bear and basket in his room but carries the letter around with him in his wallet wherever he goes.

his full name is elijah frederic fitzherbert. he was given the middle name frederic in honor of his grandfather.

but, he much rather prefers eli. doesnt mind formalities but insists on people who know him to call him by his nickname. except he HATES being called “highness” bc he thinks it sounds stupid. he wont get upset per se if u keep referring to him as “your highness” but he will get annoyed

he very much wants to fulfill his role as “corona’s golden boy” by contributing back to his people. he worries for the kingdom more than he worries for himself and is always trying to prove that he is worthy of being a prince rather than just some random kid who got lucky enough to get adopted. most of his days are spent doing modest favors and helping out the townspeople or visiting the villages surrounding the kingdom.

when he’s in the castle you can almost always find him in the kitchen! boi loves to bake and cook. he loves the way food can bring joy to everyone. he often makes goods to give to the townspeople or the kids at the orphanage, where he volunteers at least every 2 weeks when hes not busy w prince stuff.

has an acute fear of disappointment. he feels so much pressure to prove his worth that came from growing up thinking if he did anything wrong he’d be sent back to orphanage, esp since his parents had another child. they wouldn’t want or need him anymore. he mostly got over this when he broke a vase when he was 12 and tried to run away from home, except he fell out the tree that he used to climb out his window and broke his leg lmao. his parents assured him that no matter what he did they would still love him and never abandon him, and his dad also taught him how to climb trees and roofs without dying (much to his mom’s chagrin). even tho hes pretty much over it, it kinda lingers subconsciously. thus, he overcompensates in everything he does and gets overly anxious about small problems

growing up he thought the stories that his dad told him about his past were so cool, despite the fact that he would almost always only hear those stories when he was being taught lessons of what he shouldnt do. he used to run around pretending to be flynn rider and his dad played along, planning play heists for them to do together (think scott & cassie in that one scene from ant man and the wasp) but they stopped when eli hit that age where he thought it was embarrassing to play w his dad. but, it really helped him bond w eugene and help him work on his coordination bc eli is CLUMSY AF

eli legit trips over nothing at least twice a day.

he bonded w his mom through art tho, which eventually turned into aesthetic desserts and meals! thats another reason why he loves baking and cooking so much.

when his 1st sibling was born when he was 5 at first he was jealous. he didnt get much attention at the orphanage due to the fact that there were so many kids and he was just starting to get used to the idea of having parents didnt have tons of kids always trying to win their affection and attention. he thought having a little sibling was the worst thing in the world and would hide from his parents bc if they couldnt find him they couldnt send him away. he hated his sibling.

until he met them. the second he saw their chubby face he was hooked. he swore that he would do anything and everything for them. and that continued when his parents adopted his other siblings as well. he absolutely adores them and acts like the protective older bro role

thankfully, with such a large age gap eli never rlly had to go through any of those petty squabbles that siblings usually have. he was always pretty protective of them tho and would fight when he thought they were being reckless and dumb out of his own fear that if they got hurt he would be an awful big brother (again, fear of disappointment)

he loves to travel bc his mom would always take him to these extravagant kingdoms and on these amazing sightseeing trips

this boy is hopeless when it comes to love. i can imagine lots of ppl liking him on top of all the ppl throwing themselves at him bc royal, but him being completely oblivious and thinking that no one likes him.

This was about ten years ago when I rped JKMM/Mitternacht Marine, a story much like hetalia that had personified war machines from World War 2. At the time, before making him, I had a very successful OC in the group I rped in on Gaia Online. His name was Emil, and based off of the Boeing B-17 Heavy Bomber. Being someone who has loved planes and flying since I was a really really little kid, I was very much into learning and making characters based off these planes. 

One of my very best friends Annie rped the canon character’s female counterpart for the Nakajima Ki-43 Hayabusa (while our friend Jojo DID rp the canon character named Hayabusa), and I’d wanted to make a “little brother” for the two. I looked up online the next two predecessors to the Hayabusa, and found the Nakajima Ki-44 Shoki and Nakajima Ki-84 Hayate. After doing more research, I felt like the Ki-44 would be something I wanted to try translating into a character, and in my research I found out that the pilots flying the planes had a really hard time seeing out of the windows and it often led to crashes. That was the original inspitation for him being blind.  

As one would suspect, it isn’t easy translating that into a fandom like Pokemon, and many of what he is today is because of my friends @sterlingsilverchampion, @fabulance, and @puppygrunt. Four years ago many of us in our own little discord had ocs, I was one of the ones that didn’t because I was wary about making one. I remember wanting to bring Emil here, but I could never find a face claim I liked, and instead I found one that absolutely fit my idea for Shoki- and finding a psd that made it hard for you to see his eyes made it that much better. But I could never find a reason for him. Why did I want to rp him? Would people like him?

It was in a call with these three that I started to talk about these questions I had, and those three in particular really helped me get him off the ground. I think it was Sir that suggested that he was blind, but could see or feel aura and that it helped him get around a little easier. As for the fighting mono type team, I got that inspiration after someone at work had said that mono teams were “lame” and fighting especially was the weakest. So I did it to prove him wrong, which I got to do in skull brawl lmao. So he didn’t just appear one day, it’s been a long time in the making.

A lot of my inspiration also comes from Iggy from Maximum Ride; A blind human bird hybrid who was the snarkiest and the most tech savvy kid in the group, Matt Murdock from Marvel’s Daredevil; a blind lawyer turned super hero, and Toph from Avatar: The Last Airbender- who I’m sure most people know is the blind sarcastic and snarky earth bender who befriends Aang, Katara, and Sokka.

☂ : Spread some love: mention someone you’ve met that has influenced you or your writing in a positive way, and explain how. I’ve been on here as Bella for about 2 years now. Between hiatuses and such some of the people I’ll mention aren’t as active anymore. And some of the people I’ll mention are brand new mutuals.  @rodolphus-lestrangex - Is so lovely and pure and has grown to be one of my best friends irl. We pretty much keep in constant content all day every day and last month she actually traveled to my country and we were able to spend time together and it was really amazing. She’s probably one of the sweetest people I know and is super kind and approachable (and tolerant of all kinds of bullshit lol) so if you’re ever hesitant, don’t be. She’s influenced my writing by completely reworking how I felt about Bella and Rodolphus’ relationship. She also kind of just fell out of the sky and into my life when I was getting fed up with situations and on the verge of deserting this blog. So I’m very thankful for her <3 Her muse also allows me to explore sides of Bellatrix that aren’t solely just sadistic and murderous, which has been a huge part of furthering her development.  @tmvoldemort - I think V was like the first person I ever rped with here, or damn near close. She’s not around so much anymore, but we grew pretty close too and shared many laughs together. In a way it was her who kind of showed me how to not hold back here and write whatever I wanted without worrying about what people thought.  @veritasxrum - The first person I ever posted real filthy smut with on this blog lmao. Again, that kind of proved to me that it was acceptable. Her portrayal of Snape is really quite incredible and I’m barely worthy. Miss her dearly :)  @lyraxlestrange - Lyra came a bit later as an OC of the daughter of Bella and Rodolphus. At first I really was not feeling it and had preconceived ideas about OCs that I wanted nothing to do with them. But actually we had some pretty good interactions. I liked exploring Bella’s role as a mother, as bizarre as it was. We also became very close quickly, and eventually @alwaysconquer was born from the same mun. I had loads of fun with that muse as well. ;)  @doggedfather -  Bellatrix and Sirius’ never ending fights can never get old. The crack and dumb memes we’ve come up with are so funny I can barely think about them without cracking up. We also spend a fair amount of time talking shit about the same reality shows we watch, and we’re always up for sending pics of our cats to each other. It’s kind of everything @repudiated-heir - Is such a gentle soul! So so sweet. She was the first I was able to explore Bella’s childhood with, and the caring sides of her. NICOTINE ANON BACK AT IT WITH THE GREAT QUESTIONS.

Buckle up this is quite the story. I’m actually going to put this under a read more because it got much longer than I originally intended for it to be. 

So up until about 3 months ago (long story) roleplaying was my primary form of writing. I’d been rping for roughly…. 14 years. Well I have a penchant for rping like, what is known as #dirtybadwrong because I enjoy the darker side of life. 

Well once upon a time (when I was like, 16) I created this roleplay on tumblr that was basically Marvel’s Sky High only it was set in college and blah blah blah. I had an unrealistic amount of characters because I had no self control and too much muse and one of those characters had a mAGICAL DADDY KINK out of no where. Honestly I have no idea where it came from. I was like, 17 years old and my muse was like ‘it’d be hot for my partner to call me daddy’ and I was like ‘ok thats weird but w/e I’ll roll with it’ and that’s all it ever was was just like, a daddy kink. I mean, I feel like I always had a daddy kink personally I just never knew it was called a daddy kink nor did I ever think of calling my partner daddy because I was a fucking infant. But like, when I was 12-13 years old my biggest celebrity crushes were JDM, Patrick Dempsey, Alan Rickman and Hugh Laurie. I mean…. that should be evidence enough. (Also sidenote: I’ve been obsessed with JDM for almost 12 years someone needs to like, call the cops on me or something.) 

FAST FORWARD to when I was 18, I created this modern day The Hobbit mafia roleplay (hence my nickname Bilbro Swaggins) and it was literally like, my child. I spent two months making bios and creating characters and setting the plot and figuring everything out and when it finally opened I was fucking elated. Well, my main writing partner at the time and I picked up these two characters who could not have been more polar opposite to each other and decided to figure out how they could end up together.

LONG LONG story short and to save you the grief of having to listen to me for ten years and to save you from having to read about all of the #dirtybadwrong I wrote about (if you’re honestly that curious I will gladly tell you some other time probably under a read more because it’s that bad), the two characters basically wound up in like a stockholm syndrome-type relationship that was…. god awfully unhealthy. It was so unhealthy. It was literally like to this day one of the most unhealthy relationships I have ever rped. But we fucking ate that shit up. 

NOW you’re probably thinking at this point in the story, ‘Kaden, I asked you about how you got into kink. I don’t care about your past rp experiences.’ but just…. bear with me here. Amidst this horrible unhealthy relationship we were rping one of the biggest parts of said relationship was that it somehow turned into a kink dynamic. Specifically a DD/lb (Daddy Dom/little boy) one. And now, if you don’t know what that is it’s basically like a daddy kink on crack. I’m not going to go into the logistics of all of the different types of DD/lb/lg relationships because there are honestly so many different types it’s alarming BUT in our case the little boy was basically regressed to a much younger age mentally and the Daddy Dom took care of him. I mean that’s the most basic way to put it without telling you about all of the nasty, horrible, wrong, immoral details. 

Let’s just say that the other people in the roleplay hated our ship so much that they literally stole all of my characters and my plot and created different blogs just so they could get away from us. Lmao. It was that legit. 

BUT I had been doing some RESEARCH (ah yes the biggest excuse for the Writer) because I wanted to learn more about this DD/lb dynamic thing and while I was roleplaying a very unhealthy relationship at the time I also started to learn about the more… healthy ways to go about the kink. And it was fuckin’ interesting. Suddenly I was immersed in knowledge of what kink was and how to go about it and how there were so many fucking different kinks out there. 

So after the mafia roleplay went sour my main writing partner and I created a kink roleplay! I had no idea what I was doing but I was determined to like, do it correctly. So I did a bunch of research on the kink community and opened this roleplay that was so contrast to your every day Master/slave tumblr rp that just went about it in the worst kinds of ways. I was like NO I’M DOING THIS IN A HEALTHY WAY I’M DOING IT RIGHT I’M MAKING SURE THIS IS BY THE BOOK CORRECT so I had to do a lot of research on the kink community and what dynamics, scenes, aftercare, negotiations, etc was really about. And I just became enraptured by it all. It was fascinating to me that these relationships and dynamics - while doing some of the most fucked up shit you could ever imagine - were some of the healthiest relationships I had ever seen. 

I picked up characters that had kinks that would later become some of my biggest kinks to date and I feel like that was like, dipping my toes in the metaphorical waters of what kink was. 

I’m sure it’s another story for another time but basically then in my personal life I toyed with different roles and was in a few relationships that explored kink WAYYY before I actually finally nutted up and joined my own kink community. 

But I gotta hand it to my rp characters, man. If not for them being into some fucked up shit and forcing me to research it I probably would have never wound up where I am today.

oh boy we could be here all day. so obv i loved shuu from like. day one. heres the thing tho… im a big ol softie who wants everyone to get along and be happy. i mean ok yes i also love angst… a lot…. but when the canon situation is already sad af i gotta Do Smth abt it. bc really everything abt shuu is so depressing already it doesnt need to be any worse please

so yes iwameanie in everyone lives aus and redemption arcs and all thats GREAT. like it, love it, gotta have it. but i also had another idea, which is just: what if he was? nice?

(i was mainly inspired by a sketch moa drew of a disturbed yuuya contemplating the idea of a nice shuu. also there was very briefly an ask blog abt a nice shuu which i thought was adorable but sadly idr the url! if its even still up!)

another big advantage is that since iwasweetie is so diff from iwameanie in so many ways, i have a lot of wiggle room. hes so vaguely defined in canon, which means i have a lot of opportunity to kinda do w/e i want which is really fun! theres enough already there to guide me and him having pre-established relationships is also helpful ofc but it also feels v liberated.

also since his life Is better, i dont have to feel so guilty abt putting him thru angst! woohoo

Not only that, but she brought Althea back to me, helped me make Adonis, and fuels my creativity every time I speak to her.
