It all happened so fast. One moment, she was having dinner with her fiance and the next, the strong oak door to their home was toppled over with a flash of electric blue light. Flames enveloped the curtains and chaos erupted along with every lighting fixture within a ten-foot radius of the younger daughter of Hades.

She approached Morgana and her lover like a hound closing in on rabbits. Her irises consumed by the darkness of the Underworld as she set forth to complete her task, one Hades had demanded of her not even an hour ago. Isabelle had always been quick and efficient, the dutiful daughter obeying their father as if they were in a time of war.

Darius jumped to his feet, stepping in front of his great love who, unknown to Isabelle, was carrying his child at the time. He would not allow for his future wife and child to take the fall for something he was entirely responsible for. According to Hades, Morgana and her lover had taken a precious artifact and for their heresy they would pay their lives. In reality, the Ancient Mythologies Professor had unearthed a dangerous weapon. It was capable of stripping gods of their powers and since Hades wasn’t a very generous fan of their union, Darius would use whatever means necessary to ensure that he and Morgana could live a peaceful life together.

“You should know better than to cross a god,” Isabelle growled, coming to stand across the dinner table from them. “The artifact, where is it?” 

“What the hell are you talking about? Have you gone mad?” Morgana shouted, her hand instinctively falling to her belly. 

“It’s not here!” The male shouted over the roaring flames, “I’ve hidden it. Please, all we want is to live in peace.” The younger brunette took a step toward Morgana, ready to strike. “Don’t! Please, Isabelle, she’s pregnant!” Darius pleaded in a final attempt to stop the daughter of Hades in her tracks, perhaps hit some kind of nerve and gain sympathy rather than the wrath that he knew was coming one way or another.

Take him.

“Then you shall pay the price,”  Isabelle flicked her wrist. With a sickening SNAP her sister’s fiance dropped to the ground, his head turned in a completely unnatural direction.

Morgana screamed as Darius’s corpse fell to the ground, “NO!” She knelt to the floor, her arms wrapping around his fallen form but she knew it was too late. He was gone. When she looked up, expecting to see her sister standing over her what she found instead was their house starting to crumble around them. Smoke was starting to fill her lungs and in the distance she could hear sirens approaching.

The only reason Beau dresses nicer is because of his job. If it was up to him, Beau could constantly be found in jeans, a t-shirt and either his boots or a worn out pair of sneakers. He’s just not a fussy guy and this is true even in his appearances.
