Maisie had talked about nothing but her new best friend at pre-school. It had been quite a while since she had really shone, and Owen was keen to meet the person who had brought it out of her. He made it to the front door and she was already bounding over to him, practically skipping over towing along her 'friend'.
"Hello sweetheart, how was your day?" He had gotten to his knees and taken her into a hug. "And who is this?" He looked upwards towards them, though more than happy for his daughter to introduce them, of course.

teacher, teacher!
what type of teachers would haikyuu characters be? (Karasuno Ver.)
Tumblr media
Hinata Shoyo - gym teacher, middle school
he is the type of teacher to make you run 5 laps at 7 in the morning argue with the wall.
really likes his job and is passionate about it, man takes it SERIOUSLY. (maybe a little too seriously sometimes..)
he's a pretty fun teacher, changes up the lesson sometimes to make it more enjoyable
understands the kids a lot
i think he bonds better with middle schoolers as high schoolers are a bit too mature but elementary school kids aren't able to keep up.
likability: 7/10. (the kids sometimes thinks he is a bit too much, but once you get to know him more he's a really fun teacher)
Tumblr media
Tsukishima Kei - Honors Literature teacher, high school
oh man. bad news.
he is that one teacher that assigns so much work, but also is nice in a mean way.. but then again his entire routine and existence runs on caffeine since he doesn't ever sleep.
he is the type of teacher to assign homework every single day, keep the kids on track, but he is really good at his job as he teaches really well.
i think his students like him as a person, but not as a teacher. he's kind of mean when he's in a bad mood.
insanely fast grader. argue with a wall. this man has no life outside of his job.
likability: 5/10. (most of his students don't open up to him because of his humor and his rigorous coursework, but the ones that do find him a nice teacher. honestly I think if it wasn't for him getting fired he would be a lil mean on purpose)
Tumblr media
Sugawara Koushi - Preschool teacher, preschool
are you kidding me right now? this man was born to be an adult figure for children
pure angel I swear
the sweetest teacher ever.
the kids love him and he is very patient with his students
loves to host fun parties for his class, and takes class on fun field trips
never raises his voice, and gets the kids to listen most of the time.
parents, children, staff, everyone loves him, he's a pleasant, neat and kind person to be around.
likability: 10/10 (who doesn't like him is the real question)
Tumblr media
Yamaguchi Tadashi - engineering teacher, college
honestly I'm not too sure about yamaguchi's subject.
he gives me history teacher vibes, but then again I half expect him to whip out 5 different languages and somehow has 4 degrees as if he's living too many different lives.
well anyways, if he was an engineering teacher, I believe that he would engage with his students a lot.
he cares about his students, and there is a level of respect, but he isn't close close with anyone (like they don't really make small talk and stuff like that)
i am a firm believer he is a SLOW grader.
likability: 7/10 (no one really dislikes him for any reason, but it's not like he is the favorite either so..)
Tumblr media
Daichi Sawamura - History teacher, middle school
now this man screams history teacher
specifically history teacher, wears fancy shirts + ties, and has a wife and 3 kids type history teacher
but he is a very fun teacher, hear me out.
he would be the type of teacher to make all of the boring units fun by incorporating acting, watching fun documentaries, and making fun projects
assigns work every single day, even if it isn't a lot.
he would definitely change up the plans if the class seems boring, he really cares about his students.
he is strict at times, but most of the kids like him and don't misbehave, so no one really has a problem with him.. (he's terrifying when he's mad D:)
likability: 9/10 (idk I feel like he's very likable but that one point might be deducted for strictness)
Tumblr media
Chikira Ennoshita - algebra teacher, high school
have any of you guys have that one teacher that looks like they want to quit their job? well that's him.
honestly he wanted to be a math professor at some college, but he somehow ended up at the high school
he would teach all levels to be honest
very good teacher, explains things very well, but looks like he hates his life half the time because he's tired
he just assigns work, and if the class finishes early he just lets them do whatever they want..
likability: 8.5/10 (no one hates him because no one causes trouble and he's a good teacher but he seems cold all the time)
Tumblr media
Asahi Azumane - orchestra teacher, high school
this man is a saint, the nicest and calmest teacher out of everyone
he is so patient and he rarely gets mad, he is very gentle (no one ever heard him raise his voice at a student before..)
genuinely loves his job, and grades only on effort
rarely assigns tests, but occasionally does
makes the class a very fun environment
many kids look up to him and admire his patience
really good at finding nice pieces
likeability: 11/10. no questions or comments needed.
Tumblr media
Tanaka Ryunosuke - band teacher, middle school
honestly he is just cool
he would have a very cool band, and anyone taking his class is considered cool
prioritizes having fun over learning, but his class still gets a lot done
i feel like he would either play with the drums or the electric guitar
he would very vibe with every single kid, even if they are rude to him
likability: 10/10 (honestly I don't have much to say about him other than he's cool because he is..)
Tumblr media
Kageyama Tobio - geometry teacher, high school
did you ever have that one teacher that seems like they never know what they were doing? that's him
don't get me wrong, he's trying his best, but he just needs a little bit of guidance
he would be a relatively new teacher too.
he would hold a lot of after school study sessions to be honest
doesn't know what to do, but will give or help get help for his students
a lot of kids like him because of his hard work ethics (and his pretty face)
likability: 8.5/10 (people like him, but maybe not that much)
Tumblr media
Nishinoya Yuu - Chemistry teacher, high school
do I ever see him studying chemistry? absolutely not. I don't even think he would be a good teacher.. (no offense I love this man)
but if he did, he would definitely teach a very fun subject like chemistry.
he would assign a lot of crazy projects and encourage his students to be creative and run fun experiments/labs often
honestly a very slow grader, but he is not strict at all
often gives pity points to students..
it's like impossible to fail his class at this point
likability: 9/10 (some kids don't take him that seriously but he is a pretty popular teacher)
Tumblr media
Kiyoko Shimizu - AP literature teacher, high school/college
honestly this baddie only teaches the smart kids
she doesn't tolerate any mischievous in her class
the type to just send the kid to the principal's office after a few warnings (miss girl doesn't tolerate or have patience)
she is a very stern and serious teacher, so a lot of kids are intimidated by her, but she loves her students a lot.
the students that do have her do very well in her class, and they are the very smart nerdy kids
she's a quick grader, and a very good teacher
she is the type of teacher that can explain very complicated things insanely well
constant quizzes/Exams/essays/projects in her class
tsukishima kei but make it x100 worse
likability: 5/10 (she is either a hit or a miss, you either like her or you don't, no in-between)
Tumblr media
note: hi guys!! I just thought I'd do something fun and different! here are my top 3 teacher choices for Karasuno:
1st: Daichi Sawamura - honestly I love history teachers. all of mine were really fun and sweet, and I feel like Daichi is a very people's person.
2nd: Sugawara Koushi - he's very sweet, next!
3rd: Nishinoya Yuu - honestly I love science, and he is such an energetic person, so that makes it super fun!
thank you all for the support!! Have an amazing day/night <3

A wish for a happy life (romantic)
The Readers gender I’ve tried to leave ambiguous
This is being made when there’s only 4 episodes out (and I haven’t yet seen them all) so there may be inaccuracies to stuff later revealed but who cares!
I got inspiration to write this after seeing @ice-cream-writes-stuff bucchigiri fic that you can find here. Please check it out
There need to be more fanfics for this show pleaseeeeee 🙏🏻
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
To say you were a handful as a child was an understatement
From the moment you could remember anything your knuckles were always bruised and bloodied
Bruises littering your arms like medals of a successfully won fight
Tousled hair and busted lips
Glowering and prideful eyes daring someone to be next
Fighting was almost as natural as breathing to you back then
Speaking with your fists to get across the message of not being messed with as playground bullies ran off
Violence was all you knew as a way to get attention
Crying and begging for the orphanage attendants or preschool teachers to listen was for naught
They brushed it off
Crying was white noise
But the yelling and sounds of an arm being broken on school property was heard loud and clear
On all accounts you should’ve ended up as a delinquent
For hells sake you even started a gang at some point
On all accounts you were Someone on the “wrong” path in life fated to be some lowlife scum
It was expected of you by just about every grown up
Even looking at yourself in the mirror, busted and broken you knew how you’d likely end up
You didn’t want that but what choice did you have?
You wanted to be loved, to be seen, to have a happy life
But fate didn’t seem to have that cut out for you
…at first
But despite it all
You changed
And it all started with a woman own a small Chinese restaurant and her son
Despite your track record
The scornful look on your lips and gritted teeth as the other children lined up to be picked as you sat off to the side
That kind woman and her son saw you
The kid off to the side
The unwanted
The “trouble child”
And despite the fact they should’ve picked one of the more well behaved kids they chose you
Arajin often talks about the look on your face that day
The pure disbelief
Shock
Confusion
And most of all the tears
The expression of finally being seen for the first time in your life without having to quite literally pummeling it into someone
Your expression remained that when they brought you home
A room already made for you and left for you to eventually decorate how you want
That night laying in your new bed you vowed you’d change
You’d put your life on track
Not only for yourself but for your new family
Arajin (platonic)
Arajin can removed with a whole heart the first time he met you
It was before bringing you into the family
He was training with Matakara at the time as some older kids from some gang showed up
They were probably gonna rough them up
Arajin was ready to fight when suddenly someone beat them to the punch
“Oi! You fucking meatheads I told you to leave civ’s alone!” You stood there, a scowl on your face as the others cowered. Your eyes turned to him and Matakara, sympathy flashing through the hardened eyes of steel and diamond. The unspoken words of “I’m sorry” in them.
After that he saw you around town
Never going up to you but watching in curiosity
Maybe once upon a time he’d see you like any other punk
But that day changed something
There was compassion in your eyes
Even compassion in the way you seemed to fight for others without admitting it
He could see at heart you were a good person
Someone who fought for others because no one fought for them
He didn’t know why you did what you did until he and mom ended up at that orphanage
And in the back he saw you there
To the side with a resented sadness
Knowing you would never be picked
Never be loved
Never have a good life
His eyes connected with yours and he swears he sees them widen in that moment
You were seen
You were chosen
You could have a good life now
That night he remembers your silent sobs of joy in the next room over
The next morning he design comment on your reddened eyes and neither does mom
Both just focus on how you eat with a smile
Still a little jittery as if wondering if this was real
He pats your shoulder to remind you it is
In the months following he can’t help but smile when noticing your room grow with things of your interest
The way you seem to find clothes that properly fit you
The way in which you talk with him while cooking with mom
You grow with him
Hang out with Matakara who welcomes you with open arms
When he becomes interested in base you save up your buy him one for his birthday and when it comes yours he does the same bit with a drum set
In every way possible Arajin sees you change for the better
Perhaps your temper never went away but you know how to handle it now
Use it for good
Use it without lashing out wildly
He sees that you help mom out, call her mom too
You call him Ara, call him your brother
In every way possible you look out for him as best you can
When he looses his old physique and dream you take the place of protector instead
No matter the situation you step up for him even if his idiotic actions lead to his ass being beaten
You love him like he’s actually your brother
And he loves you the same
When moving back to the graffiti covered hometown you both were born in he can’t help but see your nervous
It’s easy to tell for him since he sees past your stoic facade
Your hands fidget
Eyes glancing from place to place
Breath getting heavy
When your shared teacher talks about the class he sees your hands fidget once more
For so long you’ve protected him
And in the moment your both in front of the class he protect you
He introduces you by his nickname for you
Your stoic face breaking a little with gratitude before he immediately sits down beside a cute girl in the back of the class
You aren’t surprised, damn horny teenage boys
The sentiment of what he did thought resonates with you though
Much more than you’d ever admit to your stupid little sleez of brother
That girl he’s looking at with goo goo eyes is trouble (also vaguely familiar)
But you’d be damned if he’d get his asskicked if you weren’t there to save him
…….later on when he ends up in a temple almost completely naked and ends up shooting both himself and you with two old ass guns you almost give him the ass kicking of the century
But fortunately for him you don’t
But unfortunately for the both of you two beings appear instead
“Ara, when we get home I’m kicking you in the ass for shooting me in the stomach”
“Just don’t kill me before I lose my virginity”
“God your a degenerate”
Senya and Astḗr (platonic)
The two Majin appear from a burst of smoke swirling smoke of red’s and purples
Two magical beings demanding to know what both your and your brothers wish was
The Majin your brother was granted is much more intimidating in nature than yours who leisurely relaxes on a cloud
Their much more and lithe androgynous appearance paired with an elegant and sly smile
Whilst Senya pokes at Arajin for being a wimp, Astḗr stares at you with interest in their golden eyes
A curious expression on their face as they examine your glare of both fear and defence
A lavender tinged hand reaches out
Your frozen in fear
And then-
“Kyaaa!! You’re such an adorable human!” The Majin wraps their arms around you, choking you in a massive hug as the other lightly laughs at their behaviour. “Ah! Mind my manners! I’m Aster, now what’s your wish?”
“Huh?…w…what?”
“What’s your wish?”
“My wish?…” you think it over for a moment before a memory plays in your head as you one night watched a shooting star “I wish happy life”
The Majin grins at that, “as you wish”
And then Arajin wishes to lose his virginity which makes you and the two Majin stare at him in both shock and disbelief
Before you them rightfully punch Arajin in the head for both shooting you and wasting a wish for literally anything in the world
Meanwhile both Majin laugh their metaphorical asses off
The Majin are only seen by you and Arajin despite Ara trying to get others to see the two
Despite the fact that you had a mental breakdown when first meeting Senya and Astḗr you become quickly used to their presence
Senya is the more battle hungry of the two, enthusiastically asking you of your past experiences once hearing you had your fair share
Despite his initial impression he seems to be quite a fun guy
He even has an almost puppy like expression at times when you explain new human things as Aster listens with a look of amazement
Speaking of Aster your Majin is seemingly the youngest
Apparently their first time even experiencing the human world
Senya has granted wishes a couple times within the span of few centuries but Aster is doing it for the first time
It leaves Senya looking on like a big brother as Aster engages with you with enthusiasm
You soon realize though that your wish for a happy life was soon much more complicated than you initially wishes
“Aster why am I seeing shojo anime sparkles?!?”
The Majin giggles “well you said you wanted a happy life right! Well I watched some of those shows your mom was watching and some fairytales and well…they seem to be living a really happy life! Plus you used to live here right? Whats more happy and romantic than reuniting with your old friends!”
As much as you like Aster your gonna strangle them
Mahoro (romantic)
The girl your brother is listing after and sits beside seems worryingly familiar to you
Even she seems to notice this as she looks your way as Ara is too love stricken to notice she’s looking behind him
It’s so odd
She rings a bell in your head yet you can’t place a finger on it
Until it’s after school and you end up at a small stationary shop selling cute stuff
Even back in your delinquent days you had a soft spot for cute stuff
It was a secret you hid in the depths of your soul for your reputation
Except to two people in particular
One of which who you gifted a small my melody keychain to match your kuromi one
In that small store you pick out the cutest stuff of your dreams without any hesitation you used to have
By the time you leave your bag is filled to the brim
It’s there you bump into that pretty girl
She looks at you with big pink eyes
And it’s there passing her you notice her my melody phone charm
It’s there you realize it’s “Mai-chan” as you used to affectionately call her
The only person you felt comfortable in talking about your love for cute things
Back in the day she used to have the biggest crush on you
She’d follow you around and cling to you like a stray puppy and glaring at anyone in a 3 feet radius
She even had the gull to argue with her big bro about being to close to you
In retrospect maybe a little obsessive but at the time she was one of the few you felt…soft with plus it was probably just puppy love
Around everyone you had to be ready for a fight
You were the ruthless leader of a gang after all
You couldn’t have to to just simply sit down and enjoy something like Sanrio
Someone but yourself to put bandaids and wrap your bruised knuckles
But with her you let your guard down
She was someone you could simply be you with
And because of that, because you were her shield and someone who would genuinely listen to her
You could simply be you and she could be herself without people just perceiving her for her looks
When you were adopted though you cut contact for everyone’s sake
Because how would she feel if she saw you were a completely different person
In some sense you were ashamed
In another you thought it was best for anyone to know
When you leave the shop she stares at the kuromi merchandise you bought
Distantly you hear her nickname for you but you pretend to ignore it
When Ara asks about his prospects with his “sweet Mahoro-chan~” you can’t help but sigh
She’s doing that old habit of luring guys in for her brother to beat up since you won’t do it anymore
You tried to warn Ara but you assume you’ll have to step in personally when the time comes
“Oni-chan! I think I saw them again! And they’re hanging out with some boy! You know what that means!”
Matakara (romantic)
The moment you stood up for him and Arajin as kids he looked up to you
Despite the fact you were the leader of those kids you clearly had morals
Even watching your fights against other kids he noticed you were honourable
And that’s something that stuck with him
Sure, it didn’t take much for you to bloody your knuckles but you didn’t play dirty
You fought fair
Sure maybe you were rough around the edges but he saw in you like Arajin a kindness
One that was on display that day and even more so when you were taken in
He didn’t know you for very long until you and your family moved but when he did it was something he’d never forget
You were more kind at heart than he imagined
When he an Arajin would train you’d alway cheer them on and have celebratory snacks ready
When he pushed himself to the limit of got hurt you’d patch him up
Washing his scrapes and putting cute little bandaids on them
He was heartbroken when you left and as were you
So it’s a surprise when he suddenly sees Arajin again
And by extension that means your back too
When you both run into each other again your much more happy than Arajin
In fact his men can hardly believe it when he’s suddenly tackled hugged by you
Never can he but he then spins you around in pure joy
All the while his men Zabu and Komao watch in awe
Before you turn your attention to them
And pause
And then turn back to Matakara with an expression which could only be described as “pissed and wanting an explanation”
So turns out he joined a gang
And turns out you don’t like that much since you then suplex him onto the ground
Of all the things he learned from you it should’ve been not to get affiliated with gangs
It’s literally what you told him and Ara everyday
But nope, this block headed puppy dog did the one thing you told him not to do
Zabu and Komao almost attack you if not for Matakara laughing it off
Even if your upset with his decision he’s at least happy that your still the same you
Temperamental but compassionate
Sturdy yet gentle
Stoic and emotional all at the same time
He asks if sometime you’d like to have lunch or train at the dojo his relatives own and you agree
But only if it’s non gang related and he smiles
Zabu and Komao can practically see hearts buzzing around him and the gentle look in his eyes as you leave
They can’t really blame him for it either
“Other than joining a gang (which I’m still upset about) what have you been doing?” You ask sitting down beside him with your bento box and his. Mom made one specially for him
“Well I’ve been training. Arajin may have given up but I haven’t, it seems like you still train too” he says with the same kind smile as usual
You feel yourself get a bit flustered at that “how else am I supposed to keep that idiot brother of mine safe. I swear he walks into danger sometimes” at that Matakara laughs in agreement.
Marito (romantic)
Back when you started your gang there was only ever one person that ever came close to your strength and that was Marito
When you had defeated him it was as if he became a parasite that latched onto you (you say this lovingly and out of annoyance)
He had stuck with you like glue and became your right hand man
Quite literally helping you claw your way to the top of the metaphorical food chain
Marito and his sister were the only two people at the time that saw you for who you were
Saw where you’d slink back off to at night
Saw how utterly hopeless and alone you felt
You were strong yes, that’s what drew him to you in the first place
It was (as he says) “love at first fight”
But beyond that he began to see the person who did his sisters hair
Gave other tips In how to throw a proper punch
Allowed their mask to break In his presence and crumble
It made him grow to love you more
Respect you more
And most importantly grow to care for you despite your inability to properly see it
Despite what you thought so many people respected and looked up to you
Him included
For fucks sake his own sister got jealous when he once had to carry you or when your attention was on him too much
You didn’t see this though, perhaps couldn’t with the constant feeling of invisibility and insecurity instilled into you at birth
It’s because of this that one day you seemingly disappeared and left a note saying you gave up your position as leader to him
It hurt
It hurt a lot more than he wanted to admit
everyone felt your absence, him and Mahoro especially
But despite that Marito never gave up on trying to find you
He would get it through your thick head one way or another that he cared for you
That he loved you damn it
And if there was one thing people would agree on about Marito is was that he never gave up on something
Especially for someone he loves
So when years pass he’s still looking for you when something catches his attention
His sister mentions that she thought she saw you
It seems you were back
And with a guy? Who was also once again wrapped around her finger
He wasn’t surprised at that but moreso you were with someone
So maybe after that he got a little bit heated more than usual when interrupting Mahoro’s “date” with him to beat the shit out of him
And maybe he does get a little obsessed with his punch
And then you show up with that beautiful stoic and cold look on your face as you give him your famous combo moves
And he falls in love with you all over again
I mean how can he not?
Especially when he punch back and you simply spit the blood out to the pavement
And how can he not be jealous when you go help Arajin before realize through a now pissy Mahoro (upset he got to be within 4 feet of you) that’s your brother
From the look on his face of lovesick and determined you can’t help but feel a bit nervous in class with Arajin as Mahoro practically looks behind you and you hear some footsteps quickly approaching your classroom
“Looks like big boss is back in town! I wonder how long I’ll need to fight them to get it in their thick head how much I love them” he says kicking his feet as newer members look in confusion. The older one though know
“Oni-chan you better not hog them from me!” A huffy Mahoro grumbles
You really wish you could’ve wished for something else
Your having the feeling Arajin wishes the same
It seems they were right about having wishes always turn out in the worst of ways
Senya and Astḗr don’t seem to be doing it maliciously but rather out of obliviousness
But maybe it was both your faults for not asking for a straight forward wish from two entities that haven’t interacted with humans for centuries (or for in Astḗr’s case ever)

Hiya!! I absolutely ADORE your blog, and ESPECIALLY your RoyJamie meta, it's literally foundational fandom stuff to me 💕✨💕✨💕
I'm curious to hear your thoughts on what careers you think Roy/Jamie would have had if they weren't footballers. I only ask because there's actually not a lot of au fics that deal with RoyJamie in different careers, probably because their profession is so foundational to their characters and their relationship to one another.
On that note: how do you think these career changes would affect their personalities/dynamic? What do you think would have to happen for Roy/Jamie to choose a path that's not football (if you're still dealing with a universe where they both excel at it)?
This is actually something that I haven't given a lot of thought, especially with Roy, so this is a super interesting question!!
I could totally see Roy being a complete legend in some kind of trade. He's obviously very physical and kinesthetically intelligent, and I think he'd enjoy + excel in anything where he was working with his hands. I heavily hc Roy as autistic, and I think part of what he likes about football is that he doesn't have to mask while he's playing, so imo he'd enjoy manual labor for the same reason - he can just silently lock in and fix the AC without having to talk to anyone
I think Jamie (on the entire other hand) would want to do something where he got to work closely with people, but I could see this manifesting in a lot of different ways.
One is that I think he'd be a really good daycare/preschool teacher. He's great with kids and obviously has a LOT of energy, so I think he'd really excel with young children, especially since they'd be on more of a play-based curriculum than older kids. I don't think he'd necessarily enjoy teaching a set of lessons in a classroom all day, but running around outside with 3 year olds for hours on end? He could DEFINITELY do that. And be the best at it
Another is that I could see him in some kind of social work. I think helping DV victims especially would be really fulfilling to him after what he and Georgie went through
I'm glad you enjoy my blog!! Thank you for following 🩷🩷

"Early November, 1983" — a #suptober24 ficlet
Summary:
Each evening, Dean's pre-k teacher has tasked his parents with helping Dean write down an answer to the question of the day.
On October 31st, 1983, Mary, John, Dean, and Sam Winchester go trick-or-treating.
Mary dislikes the holiday, always has, but Dean’s been coming home from pre-k since early September talking about his Halloween costume, and she just can’t say no to him. Everyone else will be parading around the neighborhood dressed up and celebrating the holiday; why shouldn’t the Winchesters, just because Mary knows more than her fair share about the real monsters that roam the Earth? As much as she wants to shield her sons from fangs and blood and evil, Halloween is just a shade of all of it. It’s just for fun, as John reminds her.
While Dean’s preferences for his costume have changed more often than the weather, he’d finally settled on Luke Skywalker, which he insisted meant that Mary had to be Princess Leia while John would be Han Solo.
As for Sam, Mary had searched high and low and found a Yoda costume for him, which was a little big, but still pretty damn cute. Maybe she is cut out for this domesticity stuff, after all.
Dean is pleased as punch to walk around their Lawrence neighborhood with a plastic pumpkin ready for candy, bragging to all the neighbors about how he’s Luke Skywalker and how he saved the whole galaxy and that one day he’s going to save the whole Earth too. An elderly neighbor, Mrs. Wright, who sometimes watches Dean in the afternoons, listens to him go on about how in Star Wars they never got around to coming to Earth but how if he had written it, he would have, because “Earth’s the most important.”
“Well, Dean, maybe that just means that saving Earth is up to you, if Luke Skywalker won’t do it,” Mrs. Wright smiles, mussing up his hair, and Dean grins and talks about that for the next five houses straight.
When they finally return home, it’s getting late, so Mary puts Sam to bed while John helps Dean finish up his homework. It’s crazy for a pre-kindergartener to have homework, but it’s just journaling prompts for which the kids have to dictate two sentences to their parents, who write it down on the little brightly decorated sheets of paper that get sent home in his folder every day. Dean brings his paper to school and shares a little about what he’s written each morning as part of the class warm-ups. It’s been explained, to John and Mary, that this is an important part of his language development.
Once Dean’s finished and has been given the all-clear to go play with his trucks in the den for ten minutes until it’s time for him to get ready for bed, Mary pads back down the stairs, yawning, her hair still done up in twin buns on either side of her head. On the dining table is Dean’s worksheet, John’s handwriting much more careful than Mary’s ever seen it as he’s written down what Dean dictated for the prompt:
How did you celebrate Halloween?
My mom and dad and brother Sam went trick or treating with me. I was Luke Skywalker. It was fun.
****
On November 1st, 1983, Dean’s somehow still supercharged from all the candy the night before and getting him ready for school isn’t an easy task. She finally does manage to get him and Sam into their jackets, bundles Sam into the stroller, and gets Dean’s backpack on his shoulders. It’s huge on him and she smiles as he heads out the door, already talking to Sam as if he can understand, telling him what everyone’s going to do for the day.
Dean loves to do that, to narrate what the family is up to, to keep track of everyone. “Dad went to work in the Impala,” he tells Sam as they walk down the sidewalk toward the preschool a few blocks away. “And I’m gonna go to school so I can be smart and teach you everything I get to learn. And Mommy’s gonna spend the whole day with you. Is that okay?” He looks at Sam as if he’ll respond.
Mary’s day stretches out before her like a yawn, and once Dean’s dropped off at school with a kiss and an “I love you,” she and Sam go to the grocery store to pick up some things for dinner. Back home, she sets Sam up in his bouncer and makes a marinade for the pork chops, then slides them into the fridge. She grabs the newspaper from the end of the driveway and reads through it, looking carefully for anything that might seem out of the ordinary, lounged in the chair while she pushes Sammy’s bouncer back and forth with her foot.
The rest of the day goes like this; she listens to the radio as she cleans, she plays with Sam for awhile on the floor, she puts him down for his nap, she heads out to the front porch to toss out the jack-o-lantern Dean carved, which will soon start to rot.
When she finally picks up Dean from school, she’s almost grateful for the little homework assignment, since it’s something to do. Dean’s got boundless energy and she usually lets him run around the yard in the afternoons, and the day is still warm enough that she wraps Sam in his coat and brings him out onto the patio. Dean has a tee ball set that he loves and so he spends awhile playing with that while Mary rocks Sam with one arm and asks Dean the question on his worksheet.
“Your teacher wants you to talk about what you want to be when you grow up,” she tells him, ready with the pen to write down his response, though usually she has to distill it into something short enough to put on the paper.
“Easy!” Dean positions the wiffle ball on top of the tee and picks up the bat. He starts swinging at the ball wildly and without coordination, knocking it off quickly and then starting to use the bat as more of a golf club to push the ball around in the grass. “A baseball player!”
Mary laughs a little, because Dean’s goals for his future change as often as his Halloween costume choices had, and the baseball player desire only comes from what’s five feet in front of him in this moment. “Okay, so how should I write that?”
“Say…” Dean picks up the ball and pauses, holding it in his hand, contemplating it. “I want to be a baseball player. Oh! Or I can be like Daddy.”
Mary writes while Sam gurgles in her arms, happy to be outside. “Okay, slow down,” she says as she carefully fills out the page, trying to match the neat penmanship that the teacher showed them at parent’s night, making sure that all the letters will look correct, just how he’s practicing them himself. Maybe, if she does all of this right, if she’s the perfect mother, Dean really will be able to do whatever he wants. Maybe he’ll get to choose his path; he could be a baseball player or a Marine or a musician or really anything he wants to be. Maybe he’ll have real options, good ones.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I want to be a baseball player or be in the Marines like my dad. I want to be a good brother to Sam and I will share all my money with my parents.
On November 2nd, 1983, John and Mary forget to do Dean’s worksheet with him. As they’re headed up to bed, Mary remembers with a sudden jolt. “Shit, we were supposed to fill out Dean’s sheet,” she says, frustrated with herself for forgetting.
“Oh, it’s fine,” John says, waving a hand dismissively. “We’ll just do it in the morning.”
On November 3rd, 1983, a firefighter bends down in the wreckage of the Winchester house and picks up the charred remains of a little red folder. It’s mostly burned, then doused with water, but when the cover of the folder falls to the ground, the man can still see the remnants of Dean Winchester’s homework assignment, the paper crisp and damp.
The teacher's careful printing of the prompt: "What are you the most thankful for?" with several blank lines underneath.

Tumblr media
I know that talking about it is gonna result in people looking it up anyway (because of the Streisand effect and stuff) but God I wish people would shut the fuck up about the Ready Jet Go nightmare fuel page on TV Tropes, because it's been deleted for six years now, and all you're doing is beating a dead horse at this point.
I talked about it in this post made here, but the reason why the page was even created in the first place wasn't because some 25 year old was "pIsSiNg tHeIr pAnTs oVeR rEaDy jEt gO," it was made because the user wanted the show to have lots of subpages and look "dark" so it would be popular, because the cartoon community only likes shows that are EDGY and have DEEPEST LORE. The infamous picture on the page makes more sense in context because there was a sudden shadowy closeup of Zerk, Jet's cousin, to emphasize how annoying he is and how much the characters dislike him. It's not something you would often see in a show for young kids, and it could be scary to little kids because of how sudden it happened. That doesn't mean the show is "dark", though. You can watch the scene at 29:32 here.
And again, the page was deleted in 2019, so the TV Tropes mods recognized that the page wasn't good. And STILL people bring it up to bash the show, its fans, and TV Tropes as a whole. It STILL gets brought up on threads dedicating to bashing TV Tropes.
TV Tropes is not perfect, but if you disagree with something you see on a page, you can just edit it instead of dunking on it for internet points. It's a wiki.
"We invite editors to be bold and make changes, even dramatic changes, to the wiki if that's what's needed. If you see something wrong, you are allowed to correct it. If you feel something is missing, you are allowed to add it."
Perhaps the worst part about all this is that people give free passes to other preschool/early elementary shows like Sesame Street, Bluey, Sofia the First, Arthur, MLP, and WordGirl, but Ready Jet Go is considered "cringe." I know that MLP and Bluey fans are considered "cringe" too, but even 4chan sings their praises.
RJG has been my biggest special interest for nine years now and people just won't stop bashing the show and being assholes to its fans. Since it is turning nine this year, it will be considered nostalgic, so hopefully, nostalgic zoomers/gen alphas will drown out the haters. We've seen stuff like Wild Kratts, Peg + Cat, and Odd Squad gain popularity because of the nostalgia, maybe that will happen to RJG soon too.
If you're a fan of Ready Jet Go, I encourage you to make fanart, fanfics, any positive posts about the show, and to like and share posts made by other fans. We need YOU. 🫵

Dazai Headcanons
I have a few headcanons on how Dazai acted before he came to be in Mori’s care. There are a lot of theories about where Dazai came from and I love most of them honestly. There are so many possibilities about how Dazai came to be and honestly, I need a light novel about it. Unless they’re going to make it important to the plot and it gets revealed in the next arc or sometime later in the manga.
My favorite theory that I came up with was that Dazai came from a wealthy family. He’s probably the youngest of 2-3 siblings and his parents were the cold and distant but loving type. I like to think that Dazai had a nice family but something happened that pushed him to where he ended up. I am taking inspiration from the protagonist of the No Longer Human book by the irl Dazai Osamu so tread carefully since I will mention some of that stuff. I am trying to keep this one more lighthearted and introspective so some stuff like the se*ual ab*se Ōba Yōzō went through won’t be mentioned.
Warnings: I talk about ADHD, some implied mental illness along with some trauma because Dazai. All of the warnings that can apply to Dazai should be warned (aka his unaliving tendencies)
Anyways the headcanons
INFANT Dazai (0-1 year old)
Was a quiet baby, never really cried and babbled
It actually worried his parents at first because their other kids made a lot more noise as babies
Only really cried if he got super frustrated when he couldn’t communicate his wants effectively
Did started making noises and saying small words around the 10 month mark
Wasn’t very interested in the baby toys that made noise
Building blocks held his interest a tad bit more but even then he grew out of them fast
TODDLER Dazai (1-3 years old)
Started walking around the 1 year old mark
Still wasn’t a big talker but he would give one or two word answers, he just didn’t feel like any more words were necessary
Would walk and point to things if he could, words once again weren’t necessary
Wasn't very interested in toys the kids his age liked
Did have a small interest in listening to his parents work, mostly because his brain was a sponge soaking up all it could
Taught himself to read around 2.5-3 years old, he would memorize stories that the maids would read to him then open the book himself and memorize the words. Basically he worked backwards to learn to read
With the early reading came the early education once his parents noticed his only interests revolved around his brain
Numbers and the lot came easy after learning the basics
PRESCHOOL Dazai (3-6 years old)
Didn’t really understand people and even more so after starting school and started being around kids his age
He observed and copied the actions of the kids around him to not draw attention to himself (*cough*masking*cough*)
Started to make himself act like more of an outgoing and friendly child even if he didn’t understand why that seemed like the preferred personality that people wanted from children. (aye practice for his future self)
Although he transitioned into his persona slowly as to not raise suspicion of an overnight personality change
Thought that his persona could let him understand people a little more but it made him more confused
He totally gave his teachers so many headaches when he first started school
As I said before, tried to mask and hide his intelligence for a while because he didn’t need any attention on him
This failed as he got way too bored of sorting shapes and numbers but he was already reading at a 16 year old skill level at 6 years old
His teachers tried stimulating his academically until they deemed it was better to just move him up grades
Went from his 6 year old class to a class filled with 9 year olds to test the waters
They had to move him to a 12 year old class only a few days later when he made multiple children cry after a multiplication game
SCHOOL AGE (6-12 years old)
You will have to physically rip ADHD Dazai away from my cold dead hands, I stg (I could do a whole separate headcanon for this because him and Ranpo basically make up AuDHD)
I feel like around his 7-8 year old mark is when he really started going tired around the uninteresting things of life, he’s a severely bored kid who doesn’t understand nor have a will to live
I do think around 10-11 is when he started getting interested in suicide as a coping mechanism for all the intricacies of humanity that he did not understand and the fact he started realizing he didn’t have a reason to live
At this point he’s observed people for so long that the masks he parades around of a cheerful but academically gifted child is concrete and there’s hardly anything that can make him break it
Knows why and how people feel certain emotions or react a certain way to things but he doesn’t understand it, not really
There's an ever bigger disconnect between him and people from when he was small that he starts to think of himself as something other than human
Had a bunch of issues trying to stimulate his brain in a way that would take away his boredom as school couldn’t do it for him
While he couldn’t ever really take away his boredom completely, he would take up new puzzles or games to try and give his brain new things to think about. I’m talking like the 3D crystal puzzles or the puzzles with no edge pieces
Anything that could capture his attention was bought in bulk until he eventually got bored of it again (neurodivergent child)
Started taking university level courses around 11, he probably could’ve taken them sooner but his teachers and parents didn’t want to overload them

I know the previous anon mentioned their own reasons for liking the 1/3 dynamic, but what personally drew you to them in the first place? And do you happen to have headcanons for them? 👀
P.S: so happy to see that Cold Reception is now complete! Congrats on that btw. How did it feel to finally finish your personal Odyssey given the time you started it and the time you finished it? Was there anything you changed a lot as the time went by? Is there a type of Director’s cut of scenes that didn’t make the final edit?
Some of it is liking the aspect of a “cynical” character and a “whimsical” character getting along and bringing out the positives of each other. There’s more to it, but idk! I just like them together a lot.
One headcanon I have is they met briefly in preschool before Nigel became bald. They bonded over other kids teasing them for their heavy accents at the time. I have others but nothing specific comes to mind atm, sorry!!
And thank you! Finishing it took a lot out of me emotionally, ngl. There’s a lot of things wrapped up in this fic for me and I delayed posting the finale for weeks because…posting it meant saying goodbye to some things and I had to wait until I was strong enough to do it.
Now on the other side of it, it feels freeing. In a very bittersweet way, but it gets a little sweeter every day.
A lot changed from when I originally started it lol. One of the biggest things being the gKND! We didn’t know about all this stop the g:KND stuff when I started it. Incorporating that was fun, tho!
Honestly, talking about what changed could be its own post.
And despite how long it already is, yes! There is a sort of “director’s cut” of scenes and things that didn’t make it in. That also could be its own post, but I can list a few things:
- The greater “TND”, from how it worked and their perspective on everything going on. Meant to expand on things like Herbie’s involvement in the plot, his own connection and friendship with Rachel, and things with Chad.
- some scenes with Maurice. Ties back into the TND subplot.
- one or two more flashback scenes with Infinity, Lizzie, and 74.239 during 1999. One of which involved a reference to the Couch Daves.
- what happened with Hoagie’s Dad.
- a closer look at the McKenzie household, showcasing Rachel and Harvey’s parents more.
- a chance to explore a headcanon concept Mother. Part of Numbuh 74.239’s work involved trying to deduce how the treehouses on Earth got so big. The GKND was embarrassed to admit Earht produced bigger treehouses than the rest of their planetary outposts. The answer is Mother. She is the reason the trees grow and animals have a strong relationship with the KND. Mother is Mother Nature. Mother is Earth.
- a bit in the epilogue where the now decommissioned and adult sector Z see the future sector v under attack by the Charming Servants (who have managed to escape again) and helping them despite being adults. Would’ve ended on a very hopeful note that sector Z would overcome them again, forever and always.
- more subtle scenes of showing Monty trying to save Ben despite Ben having been too far gone.
And a whole bunch of other things haha

Kim Possible, the Tempus Simia, and fun with timey-wimey stuff
So, those of you who follow my blog will know that I recently finished Spoiler Alert, a Kim Possible fanfic following Kim and Ron's kid Max as he accidentally follows a vengeful Monkey Fist into the past and not-so-accidentally teams up with the past versions of his parents to stop the latter's shenanigans. Anyone who's read the fic will also know that I wanted to talk a little about how exactly I envision the Tempus Simia affecting the timestream and how that relates to its canon appearance in A Sitch in Time. For those of you who want to read the fic and haven't reached the point where I bring that up in the author's notes, you might want to turn back now: what follows is going to be rather, well, spoilery. It's also going to be rather long, so I hope some of you like detailed headcanons, lol
So, to refresh, A Sitch in Time follows a villain team-up using the Tempus Simia, aka time monkey, for time travel shenanigans as well as a team-up between the "present" day Team Possible and a future resistance using something called chrono-manipulators to chase after them. All good and well, but the time travel rules seem to... change over the course of the special. Rufus 3000 refers to the time stream as "polluted" and "in flux" and we see a ripple effect of the past changing in Ron's scrapbook, yet it's later revealed that Shego's meddling in the past caused Ron to move and thus disrupted Team Possible enough for the time monkey to get stolen in the first place, suggesting a stable time loop. Likewise, Kim, Ron and Rufus going to the future apparently removes them from the normal flow of time until they pop out of their destination time portal, yet somehow Rufus was able to have thousands of "descendants" (I'm assuming clones of some sort, but either way) at some point presumably after Shego took over. This isn't really all that unusual for a time travel story, considering the mind-bendy and paradox-happy nature of messing with chronology, but that doesn't mean that we as fans can't try to come up with a creative explanation. So what gives?
Well, okay, those of you who read the author's note already know what (in my interpretation) gives: the two time machines we see in that special use different forms of time travel. Namely, the Tempus Simia creates stable time loops (hence that being what we see in Spoiler Alert) while the chrono-manipulators can actually change the past to influence the future. And when these two forms of time travel come into conflict, things can get... weird.
So in my mind, there are roughly three different timelines that give us A Sitch in Time, with the latter ones overwriting the former. We'll call them timelines A, B, and C, with most of the special taking place in timeline B.
Timeline A is a fully stable time loop, with only the Tempus Simia in play, so it would chronologically start with the villains meddling in the past -- but we'll get to that later. Our starting point would be pretty much what we see in the "present" part of the special: Ron moves away due to Shego's later scheme, and with him either not present or "out of synch" with her, Kim isn't able to stop the villain quartet from putting the Tempus Simia together and escaping into the time stream. Drakken puts into motion his plan of crushing a younger Kim's spirit, and he, Monkey Fist and Duff Killigan turn themselves into toddlers to infiltrate Kim's preschool. This almost fails immediately, because the people in the preschool office aren't going to just let some unregistered and unsupervised kids waltz into a classroom (more on that later), but they later manage to sneak into the playground during recess. They torment toddler Kim a little bit, toddler Ron intervenes, they switch targets to him which awakens her kick-butt instinct -- basically at this point, it's the same thing we saw except for the absence of a time-travelling teen Kim.
After seeing that mundane bullying didn't work, the villain team skips ahead to the day of Kim's first mission to try again. Without the added pressure of time-travelling heroes, Monkey Fist and Killigan are just barely willing to let Drakken try his spirit-crushing plan again. But his overly-complicated plan of approaching Kim as preteens, distracting her from the laser grid mission, and planting seeds of doubt that will cause her to muck it up if she does ever get there fails at pretty much every turn.
It's at about this point that future Shego approaches her "present" self and tells her to grab the time monkey and go, which she does. It doesn't take much experimenting for her to figure out why the guys have so utterly failed with it: the Tempus Simia can't change the past, and the villains' meddling might even be part of the reason Kim was encouraged to go into crime-fighting. From here, Shego starts to get creative: using foreknowledge to make enough money to fund her schemes, putting evil think tanks together in times when nobody knows to go after her, and even figuring out that she was the one who got Ron's family to move away and proceeding to do just that.
With new resources in hand and Team Possible effectively broken up, Shego gets down to business. Being much more practically minded than her death trap-loving ex-employer, she returns to the present, catches Kim and later Ron by surprise when they're alone, and actually manages to kill them. Rufus escapes, but Shego figures that she won't have to worry about him or Wade so long as Kim and Ron are gone. So she gathers her legion of henchmen, attack drones, and obedience collars, starts storming the world one city at a time... and wins.
Of course, pockets of resistance form over the next twenty years, with the most prominent being led by the friends and family of our fallen heroes. Rufus and Wade use the former's DNA to "breed" a small army of hyper-intelligent semi-clones to boost the resistance's numbers, and between that, their location near the Supreme One's headquarters, and the resistance members' various skills and gadgets, they actually stand a fighting chance... Except that every attack on Shego's fortress is thwarted after a seemingly unnatural degree of anticipation on her end. As it happens, Shego has gotten into the habit of going back in time to warn herself before every attack against her, letting her retroactively prepare.
The resistance eventually figures out that time travel is involved in the Supreme One's wild successes (not that she's doing much to keep it a secret), and Wade gets to work on devising a counter. The result is the chrono-manipulators, though nobody realizes they work differently (some might say better) than the Tempus Simia. Since the resistance isn't clear on exactly how Shego used the Tempus Simia to take over, they decide to start by going back twenty years to rescue Kim and Ron and recruiting them to stop the original villain team's mucking around in the past. So starts timeline B, and again, most of what we see in the special.
The thing is, a key aspect of the Tempus Simia is stability. It "wants" the timestream to stay the same, even as the chrono-manipulators "want" to change it. So the timestream starts shifting around a little, but keeps the same broad strokes. New time portal gives everyone around the preschool a wave of disorienting deja-vu? The preschool attendants are distracted just long enough for the toddler-ified villains to slip in before class starts, but their extra bullying time doesn't change what happens at recess (though it does change the class picture). Killigan and Monkey Fist get antsy and shoot down Drakken's plan B? The Tempus Simia slaps together a new time loop in which Monkey Fist steals a guardian statue that would have been shortly destroyed anyway, so the only "change" is that it disappears into the timestream to be lasered later rather than getting swept away by a flood or something (and meanwhile, preteen Kim and Ron succeed in their mission and survive the statue's attack). Kim and Ron start time-travelling and eventually head into the future? They would have died around that time anyway, so now they just disappear into the timestream to the same basic result. Rufus also disappears into the timestream? The resistance somehow manages to get ahold of DNA he left behind and start making clones anyway.
Then things really get weird when the Tempus Simia breaks. Its whole stability thing means that the universe is safe from implosion... but that kind of damage also has the effect of erasing the Tempus Simia from history entirely. Ironically, it's the only way for it to change the past -- time is rewritten so that the creation of the Tempus Simia was abandoned at the last moment, and any loops caused by its use are erased as well. The time stream manages to keep itself in shape by once again smoothing over the time-loop changes so that the broad outcome is still the same: that guardian statue goes back to getting destroyed in a flood, someone who had helped Shego found her bank does the founding personally, Kim befriends Ron and finds her inner fire after dealing with a different bully in preschool, and so on. This "smoothing over" gets weaker as the timeline approaches the point where the Tempus Simia was grabbed by the baddies, though, and by the time it reaches Ron moving away, the bank his mom works at just doesn't have any reason to send her and her family to Norway. And so the future is saved, and we finally reach timeline C.
But the Tempus Simia has one last trick up its metaphorical sleeve: just as it "wants" to keep the timeline stable, so too does it "want" to exist. This may not have even been the first time it was destroyed and rebuilt, not that anyone would know with the overwritten timelines. And so, a paltry few years after the end of the Supreme One's reign and the last point in time in which its previous iteration existed, a Monkey Fist who is feeling very displaced in time gets the idea that "time" may just be the answer to his woes...

So I was back to subbing at the elementary school today, which as I've mentioned is my favorite place to work. In some ways it's just the most comfortable to me; this is now my fourth year in a row I've had some kind of job associated with kids of that age group who attend that school, so I know a lot of the students and faculty. Actually, a lot of the faculty who work there today have been working there since I was a student.
Most of them recognized me immediately when I started showing my face there, like I didn't graduate from there over a decade ago, age 11. There was one para, who now works as a library assistant, but who used to monitor lunch and recess. I didn't remember her name but I knew her face. The first time she saw me subbing she was just like "oh, hi Diana."
I was talking to her this morning before school started because a first grade teacher unexpectedly called out, so I filled in for her for the first hour of the day before I started the job I clocked in for and a replacement could be found. But this library assistant usually leads the morning meetings with this first grade class and would help me with attendance and all those other beginning-of-the-day responsibilities.
She was saying to me "You know, why don't you work here full time? You're good with kids. You'd be good at it." In other small talk we'd had last year she had asked me similar things, like if I'd ever consider taking up a steady job at the elementary school, how my school was going, etc. I'm in between college right now but currently not taking classes. And I mentioned how I'm trying to take more sub jobs at the middle and high school so I get more well-rounded—that actually is the age group my education major is in. I've been working with the preschool-to-fifth-grade age range but my plan has always been middle-to-high school English.
And I was telling her about that, and I was like "You know what? When I tell people I want to teach older kids, some say to me stuff like 'oh you never know, you might change your mind'—and only recently I've been wondering if I really would. But I hate it when they're right!"
And that made her laugh. But it's true! I do really love working with the littles, as it turns out. Been doing it several years now. But in terms of anyone who's ever mentioned that to me unprompted, I wanna be like... hey, what do you know?!?!
#i have complicated feelings about it#my elementary school is a good place to work though. maybe i would be a para or smth full-time. id consider it#tales from diana#it's just. actually no one would ever say that to a man lol. that's probably why that bothers me#altho. i did actually get my one friend to start subbing in the district too.#male friend. my age. does other stuff for work so he doesn't sub as much as i do.#has the same level of education as me but has considered becoming a teacher someday and i was like 'why not try subbing?'#so i sent him the application and then that was that#and he. like a lot of men. doesnt primarily WANT to teach elementary or early childhood.#great news btw. a 5th grade teacher retired at the end of last year and one of the new hires is the first#male classroom teacher this school has had in YEARS. the only other male teacher is the gym teacher. thats SAD#but yeah so i was telling him 'i know u might be intimidated by working w kids but you should really try it'#'you might like it more than you think'#what's funny is tutoring and working in childcare didn't make me feel like i wanted to start teaching younger. at ALL#but subbing around has made me rethink it. but then again it also might just be#i get the most boring ass shit to do when i sub at the middle or high school.#subbing at an elementary school is so much more involved no matter what youre doing#with olders it's like. ok here's your assignment your teacher left you. sit at your desk and shut up#i realize the bias that is at play here making me reconsider my future path lol.

For the next gen asks! 💜❤️
Franletta and Luty and an odd one (but one of my faves) Maxi/Andres (don't worry if you don't have any thoughts about this one haha)
13, 18,19
13. How does the relationships look with their parents?
Franletta has three kids, two daughters and one son. All three are very close with both of their moms. Fran and Vilu always support them and both have made sure to let their kids know they can always talk to them. Now, Violetta has tended to be more overprotective sometimes, but it's definitely not in the way her dad was. Francesca though is not always the "more chill" parent either. Like it can switch. Violetta was the chill one today, but tomorrow Fran's the chill parent. Either way, the kids always feel very supported by them.
Luty's kid is just pampered all around. She's adored by her mother and they're sometimes too involved with her life. Right now, I have not figured out much more than how she is for the first years, so like baby-preschool aged, she's just loving all the cheering and involvement they have with her, she always gets attention. However, I do picture that, as she grows older, she sort of will want to be more... alone and not tell them exactly everything. But she doesn't wanna hurt their feelings either, because they care so much. I think it's gonna be an interesting time for her as a teenager. Though, due to having Naty especially as a mom, she's gonna have a LOT of empathy. Maybe too much empathy sometimes. Yet, she also has Ludmila as a mom, so I can imagine she's also taught to remember nothing can crush her.
Now, I've not exactly picture a kid for Andres and Maxi together, but I think that they'd be very chaotic parents. Their kid would have a lot of fun stories about their crazy dads growing up, and often be embarrassed but also shake their heads while sigh happily, "Ah, my dads... never change".
18. Sexuality?
Since all the kids in this ask I've really only pictured not being older than 5, sexuality isn't really something that's relevant for them atm. But all of them will know it's ok to like whoever they like and they'll always be supported.
I think Luty's daughter, once she grows older, will realize she's ace.
19. What are their main interests?
Music is something I think everyone loves, much thanks to their parents. But I think one of Franletta's kids is more passionate in dancing. I think their middle daughter also is into roller skating.
Luty's daughter is kind of sporty and have tried out a lot of different sports growing up, her favorite being softball. Also roller derby. But she also I think inherits a space interest from her mom, though she focuses more on whether aliens or not exists, and spends a lot of time making up stories about aliens in faraway planets.
It would be fun if Maxi and Andres' kid are into occult stuff. Imagine just saying spirits are arriving or smth and Andres' freaking out.

ramble about being frustrated about my memory of my childhood below
its so frustrating that i just cannot remember parts of my childhood that would be like. important to remember?? i know that my personality and behavior as a kid was pretty different from who am i now, but i cant remember barely any of it or even pinpoint when things changed 💔 especially bc my long term memory is pretty damn good! i can remember anything from a random thing i used to do in preschool down to all the instances of my parents saying something hurtful and yet i cant remember what i was like when i was pretty young?? and even when i was a little older i still barely remember what *I* was like???? i remember other stuff from when i was like 9, but as for myself i can only piece together what i know from videos and screenshots i have. otherwise i dont remember shit besides the basic stuff that still applies today
like..my mom told me recently when we were looking through old photos that apparently i used to be super excited about taking photos, i used to willingly pose and model for them. that was insane to hear bc for as long as i can remember, ive been uncomfortable taking photos!! i can pose on my own just fine, but i rarely smile even in my own photos. i hated taking photos with others for a long time, and yet when i was a kid i just like. was super happy to take photos and was posing a lot??? what happened???????
or that i remember having to get moved away from my best friend in 2nd grade bc i talked to her too much, which is also crazy bc i am notably very shy and not very talkative at school At All.
like ohhhh my godddddd i just want to know what i used to be like and what happened. it feels so foreign bc like. it sure seems like i was a completely different person in a lot of ways and i dont even remember that version of me at all!!
it also makes trying to figure out if i have any type of disorder more frustrating bc i dont have a lot of older examples to think back on. like with autism for example, i know i exhibit quite a few traits nowadays, but i barely remember what i was like as a kid so fuck if i know how long those traits have been there. i would go off of what my parents remember but its not like they know/remember much about that stuff either
only things i remember as a kid: i used to sort and organize my toys by type, and i used to do certain things bc i thought that was just what "people did". and according to what my mom said a few years ago i had always had issues with loud sounds (which was news to me bc i always thought it was a newer issue. apparently i just didnt remember!)
just. ugh. i wish i had a physical thing of my memories i could go through 💔 it would be so interesting 💔 i wanna know everything that happened in my life so bad bc despite my memory being pretty good it also removed exactly what i want to know and would find interesting 💔

Homeschooling Away!
Tumblr media
In addition to my personal studies, I am finding myself staring down the decision to homeschool my daughter for at least Junior Kindergarten.
Here in my area of Canada we have Junior and Senior Kindergarten as optional school years, with mandatory school starting for 1st grade the year your child turns 6. That means that JK is the year your child turns 4.
In our situation, my daughter turns 4 December 30, and in talking with the schools in our areas we've found out that JK and SK are combined classes. This means that our 3.75 year old could be starting school with 5.75 year olds. She would turn 4 December 30, and kids with January birthdays would be turning 6.
My husband and I (and his mother who provides daycare) discussed things and decided that was too much of an age/development gap for our comfort. Thus, we have decided to homeschool for JK.
In looking at all the lovely lists of "how to tell your child is ready for kindergarten" my daughter can do everything except physically write her name, though she can type it on the computer. She knows upper and lower case letters (and not just the alphabet song), shapes, colours, numbers (she loves the counting to 100 song), animals, and is even starting to understand addition and subtraction.
However, she needs to learn to follow directions better, adhere to a schedule, learn days/months/weather, and get more social interactions with peers (thank you Covid for that set back)
Since JK is mostly play to learn, I had a learning curve too.
To put it bluntly: I'm old. Due to this, my brain says that learning is done with books and worksheets, evaluated by tests and projects. The level of knowledge that she has seemed to me to fit in with this, and I tried to start a 'preschool journal' where I would make little worksheets and try to get her to fill them out.
She got bored quick.
I finally realized that I needed to follow her lead in a way. She needs better fine motor skills to help with her ability to write, but she wasn't overly interested in colouring. So I got a bunch of pony beads and she spends ages sorting, pretending, and moving them from container to container.
Then I wanted to try and get her to understand math and got little puzzles that teach addition and subtraction. I had to pull my expectations back and understand that at this point she just needed to count the number of items and match it to a written number. Eventually she would understand the separation of the items and that the cross in the centre meant addition.
She wanted to draw faces on her chalk board and decided that the hair would be numbers. So she had me draw the number, then she tried... right there she was learning through play.
Changing my brain from printables, worksheets, sitting at a table and writing stuff down, to following the play my daughter wants to do and adding learning into it, that took a while. I'm getting there though, and looking forward to seeing what the next year looks like.

Am I doing too much
Maybe it's my desperation or the fact I had believed (subconsciously) that I would have instantaneous results compareable to what I watched on the potential side hustle gigs that are out there that I didn't know about. But I will say I was expecting better results to what I've been getting.
Now the plan was to have all these things going for me, with success in a month (more realistic conscious outlook). Getting some Etsy sales trickling in here and there, and being monetized instaneously with YouTube, and getting that extra income to buy a house before the year is up.
Not even my more realistic outlook come to fruition. Now I will definately I'm spending the majority of my business developing time on my Facts YouTube Channel. But my AI generator needed my subscription to renew to use it (I'm on a basic plan so it doesn't last long). So things like Etsy took to the back burning as I'm more of the digital product kind of person.
I will definitely say lately it's felt like I've been trying todo too much too soon. But I blame my anxiety on that. I've been doing my best to hold that h*ll hole of my brain at bay.
But you're probably looking at all I've written since starting this blog, and going, "Well f*ck, you are doing too much. Your crazy" or something like that. And I agree. But let me tell you why and you can tell me if you still think I'm crazy, I'm probably just more desperate.
To start, I have ADHD, found out during the start of the pandemic in 2020. I had a newborn, I was working from home and falling asleep all the time while working (Granted my job literally had my twiddling my thumbs 98% of the time when I wasn't in the office and even then I was twiddling away 90% of the time. And you're probably like "With a newborn, I don't doubt it, you probably don't sleep at night".
And your wrong there. All my babies were good sleepers, and technically still are. But anyways once I started to treat my ADHD, my middle of the day fatigue disappeared. And that was one problem I've been trying to solve for over 10 years and perplexed my doctors. And my ADHD is why I never continued making music videos on my personal YouTube account, I started doing that for fun when YouTube started up and then dropped it when I couldn't figure out how to had video clips to my videos without being copy righted.
I know I've talked about my attempts at this stuff before. But flash forward to 2023. I work 2 jobs, and my husband also works a full time job and I have 4 kiddos' with 2 in Independent School instead of private. As my income goes up, the cost of the school goes up. And unless I change something financially, this is the last year they will get to go. And I want them to stay.
Why to struggle to keep them in when it causes me so much financial and mental stress, you might ask? Because the community is awesome, but also because my kids get exposed to foreign languages as early as Junior Kindergarten (Preschool- 4y). My oldest (11y) has been taking Mandarin since he was 4 and will continue to do so in Middle School. And not only does he get to take Mandarin, but Latin is part of their curriculum. And my 3rd born (6y) has been exposed to French and Spanish. The School struggled to keep a part time Mandarin Teacher, so they had to phase that program out 2y ago, so my oldest was the last to have the Madarin Opportunity in Lower School.
But still its' one opportunity I wish the entire US education could get behind for Elementary Education. I mean just about every country with an education, makes learning English a priorty and English is their 2nd language, and they start pretty young. But it's the one thing I don't want to take away from them, as I struggled in Middle School and High School to pick up French and trying to learn Japanese off of Anime is a no go.
But this is the sole reason I decided (kind of impulsively, all the best things I've done, and the worse, have been done on impulse) to start up all these side things and turn them into successful businesses. With my ADHD under control, along with my depression and anxiety, being able to stay focused on stuff long term is a new thing for me. Granted it's only been successful in mobile gaming, (1 game has lasted almosted 4y, started it right before my diagnosis).
And so far, I've been monitoring all my stuff on a routine daily basis for the past month and researching optimization ideas to get my stuff noticed and even if this was 2018, I probably would have forgot about all that I was trying to accomplish and gone back to zoned out, not really living ways and working 3 jobs.
So am I crazy, desperate, or just a workaholic who doesn't know their limits? You can let me know your honest opinion, I promise I can't easily take offense.

I just. Need to get this out of my head. We all see Hob as a university level teacher but what if he wasn't? What if he was an elementary, or even kindergarten/preschool, teacher. He didn't exactly plan to become an Offical Wrangler of 20 Human equivalent of cats, but it lets him showcase his random knowledge and get even more excited about seeing the future.
Get it outta your head, put it into mine, yes, this is the meta I welcome and adore!!! I think my views on Hob tend to run a little bit sharper and darker than the average fandom take. I've never seen him as someone whose chief trait is hope, yanno? It's hunger for me! Never thought, oh yeah, that is a labrador retriever in human form. I have never associated him with a little classroom that has posters about weather and seasons and a map of the world.
And YET. After getting this ask and thinking about it. I am fucking sold and now I will sell you all too. He would be a brilliant teacher of younger kids. Because I don't think you need to be sunny or kind or friendly to be a good teacher of small children. It’s nice. But I do believe you have to be curious. And sensitive. And patient. And those are some of the traits that characterize Hob to me.
He knows more of the variations of life than can be earned in a mortal lifetime alone. He knows loneliness. He knows losing family. He knows poverty. He knows about moving and leaving what feels like your whole life behind you, when you never wanted to go. He would inherently understand why it's better to talk about 'grownups at home' than 'parents', and why you shouldn't make kids share with the class what they did on their summer vacation.
He is always curious - not just of the world in a way that allows him to passionately transmit that knowledge to his classes like you say OP - but also of his kids. About their dreams and hopes and fears. About how childhood has changed so much. He loves the small stuff. He wants to hear it all. A class of 20 enthusiastic kids might be like herding cats, but it’s also 20 entire lives, mornings and nights and houses and siblings and pets and chaos and weird kid observations and beliefs, and it sates Hob’s bottomless hunger for the human experience far more than a lecture hall filled with a bunch of young adults who are only there three hours a week, whose extent of conversation with him is usually limited to emails asking for paper extensions that he grants each and every time.
He also has this insane sensitivity that you see even in 1389 in the way he pulls back earnestness with humour to match the mood of the room. He is always watching, always feeling, always adjusting. Think of all the little expressions of expectation and irritation and hurt and hope when talking with Dream! I have no doubt he’d ensure each of his students felt seen and understood, even if it's hard at first. Even if it takes a long time to get there. It’s taken him a long time, after all. He is this exquisitely tuned instrument to talk carefully to kids, and to give them back tenfold the sort of validation that a part of him always howled for in those early meetings.
He's good at being earnest. He's good at big feelings. He's good at being funny. He's good at noticing. He's good at these things, in large part, because he's not normal at all.
He’s also as stubborn as a child, but as frighteningly patient as, well, an immortal. It’s probably uncanny to his colleagues. They tell Hob he’s got the patience of a saint, and he thinks, privately, More like the faith of a martyr. But he does. He’s got both.
I think he doesn't get it all right at first. But I think within ten years he’s got so many teaching awards he needs to put up a special shelf for them. Below it, though, are several shelves, already full to bursting, with letters and thank-yous and birthday cards and ‘look at me now’ life updates from former students. Because that is the kind of teacher Hob wants to be.

if your still doing Au request and you know this series. A Ranma 1/2 au?
YOU HAVE UNLOCKED A RARE DIALOGUE TREE!!! YES, I know Ranma 1/2 it was the first anime I truly fell in love with. I've read every manga, and seen every episode (even the ova's!!!)
It is in my opinion the perfect action(fighting)/comedy. And honestly I rewatched it recently and thought to myself that the transformations/curses in the show could definitely fit in as quirks in bnha!
this would definitely be more of a comedy than canon bnha is so just keep that in mind
- lzuku's quirk comes in one day on time for a child of his age, there was nothing noteworthy about it other than what the quirk was.
- Izuku had come back home after preschool with no changes quirk wise, him and Inko had dinner together and his mother runs him a bath.
- she leaves to do the dishes and let's him play for a while, a half and hour later she goes to check on her son and and finds not her son sitting in the tub but a little girl!
- turns out Izuku's quirk let's him change swap gender through contact of water of different temperatures. Hot water equals boy, cold water equals girl.
- at first Inko worries about his quirk but Izuku doesn't find an issue with it he still feels like Izuku, but Inko more so worries about what the other kids would say.
- so after alot of thought Inko plans to have Izuku homeschooled or do school online. And it works out wonderfully!(thanks to the money Hisashi sends her and his recommendation for the best tutors)
- Izuku is more worried about his quirk not being good for heroics until it hits him! Undercover work and infiltration!
- he can use his quirk to disguise himself as someone else and be unassuming, like an actor! Or an underground hero from in all those movies! It'd be easy to separate his two forms since only his mom and presumably his dad know his quirk.
- so Izuku agrees to being homeschooled as long as he can take whatever classes/hobbies he wants outside of the house. martial arts, fighting, acting etcetera.
- over the next ten ish years Izuku becomes a master of multiple forms of martial arts, karate, weapons and parkour. As well as improv, acting, dance, and of course cosplay/costume design/fashion (he has to make his characters believable)
- when out and about Izuku is every careful about not transforming and carrots a bunch of stuff to prevent it from happening just in case(for comedic effect) and things to help him change back just in case too! (Like imagine him carrying a Mary Poppins esc bag)
- when he feels ready and talks through his plans with Inko to apply to UA which she agrees to and states how proud she is!
- Izuku fails save Ochako during the entrance exam and makes it into gen Ed instead.
(From there it's a bunch of hijinks and too many love triangle just like in Ranma 1/2! Also Fem!Izuku has white hair instead of green, like how Ranma has black hair but Fem!Ranma has red. Izuku is also rather gender fluid in this au(like hair and dress wise, could go either way) and really doesn't have a preference on pronouns and answer to any no matter what gender he is currently displaying)
- Him and Hitoshi become fast friends and finds out about Izuku's quirk by accident and promises to keep it a secret. He also helps Izuku with his mischief.
- said love triangles(?) I have so far include:
Ochako crushing on the boy who tried to save her.(Izuku)
Monoma falling for the girl who complimented his quirk and said he'd make a wonderful hero.(Fem!Izuku)
Todoroki slowly falling for the boy who helped him with his quirk during the sports festival (Izuku (endgame ship)) and then trying to connect the dots between Izuku and the white haired girl!
