I feel your heart— beat beat beat
Summary: in which they FALL fall for you 💘 or just cute moments together!
Characters: Venti, Wanderer, Xiao, Diluc (mentions of alcohol/drinking)
Requests are open, and my Adopt a Wanderer fanbook is now available on my kofi for anyone that's missed it!
In a moment where the city of Mondstadt is abuzz with activity and Venti’s on the high of a performance well-done, he turns around to address the crowd in a big, sweeping motion — only for his eyes to widen when he sees you in the distance, taken aback by the feeling of his own heart skipping.
You’ve been so busy as of late, after all! It’s only reasonable for him to be surprised to see you, to the point where his easy smile slips off his face, and the concern and worry that comes with affection squeezes his chest — for as much as he adores you, Venti also worries that you might disappear as quickly as the wind.
But! He is nothing if not a seasoned performer by reflex, recovering in a millisecond. The hand clutched to his chest quickly relaxes to perch atop his lyre, and Venti calls you over with his usual charming lilt.
“You’re back! And here I was starting to worry you’re avoiding me on purpose!”
As casually playful his words are, you stand, stunned, at how Venti manages to stand so close yet linger just out of reach at the same time. He flits around you, braids tickling your ear (“Your hair’s gotten longer!”) and fingers grazing yours in an almost-handshake and almost-pulling you into a hug.
While Venti might argue that you’re the one driving him crazy, you beg to differ with the way his actions make you dizzy and miss him all at the same time.
When you’ve both fallen into an odd domain that recreates past memories, Wanderer finds himself in his Kabukimono garb once again. But before he’s able to say anything to you, he freezes that the way you regard his ‘past’ form; loses the strength to put any words past his tongue when you kneel down to his height in a room fluttering with sakura blossoms—a prison disguised as a display case—with sceneries flowing against the walls in an illusion of the real world.
Consciously, he is still Wanderer - yet every brave and indignant part of himself shrinks into the shell of his body when your hand rests on his cheek, smiling so kindly that he thinks his connectors might simply decide to collapse. He plays the part of Kabukimono and asks who you are.
You accept that statement as a confirmation you were speaking to his past self, and even months into the future Wanderer never finds out if you knew it was the usual him all along.
But maybe ignorance is bliss for now, if it means the way you comforted and reassured a shard of his broken past that things will be okay was real.
“You’ll end up finding a place to belong, and you’ll become strong like you always wanted.
And… as long as you don’t tire of me, you’ll be loved as well. To the moon and back, no matter how many times the world turns upside-down.”
He’d blinked back at you glassily, mustering every emotion from spilling out until a tear curved down his cheek. You both wake up after his promise, hearts heavy.
“...I’ll find you every time, even if the world was reset and I lose my own name.”
After the battle with Beisht (Avenger of the Vortex), the last thing you expected was for Xiao to appear immediately before you, engulfing you in a hug that’s tighter than usual: I was worried. How could you do that without calling for help? Are you hurt? Are you okay?
“...You’re not hurt.” Xiao finally says. Words have power. You confirm that you’re unharmed, and his grip on you loosens. Hug still engaged, he sighs with his forehead pressed into your shoulder. “You’re an idiot.”
“I’m sorry for worrying you.” Annoyed glance. Unconvinced golden eyes. “I… promise not to get into any more trouble for at least three months.”
“You better hold true to that oath.” Xiao finally lets go, but you continue walking together with hands brushing on occasion. “Have you eaten? Or do you need to rest?”
“I can cook dinner if you want.”
“...Does it always seem like I ask you to cook for me?”
“I comply because it’s a compliment from the Conquerer of Demons.” You give him a teasing smile. “It’s a small offering in comparison to the protection of Liyue, and I have to make sure I feel at ease enough to get my beauty sleep! And—”
“Enough. I’ll cook this time.”
“You didn’t let me finish! Getting to see a handsome adeptus also brings me nice dreams. So you just have to stand there to keep me company.”
“You dare reduce me to a house decoration?” Xiao’s avoiding your gaze now, turning away so you can’t croon at the blush on his cheeks. “We’ll cook together. Fighting Beisht has made you spew nonsense.”
Diluc’s not very fond of cushy dinners, mostly because the purpose of them is to try and earn his favor as the head of the Ragnvindr Clan. He’s far outgrown the small talks and fake smiles, so of course he rejects those invitations in favor of another social event he claims to dislike but you suspect he secretly enjoys — drinking parties at Angel’s Share.
He doesn’t enjoy drinking by any means, but you’re sure after observing Diluc many times that he likes the lively atmosphere; seeing your friends make fools of themselves and speak loosely with relaxed smiles reminding him of simpler times.
And so, maybe Diluc has a glass of wine or two. You aren’t sure what his alcohol tolerance is, but in short you end up sitting at the bar with him, and you swear he’s leaning against the counter while you banter, gazing up at you with a fondness that makes you afraid you’ll break the spell of the moment.
It’s a little delusional to think this of the Diluc Ragnvindr, but he looks pretty. And if you gulped down another drink, maybe you can convince yourself he’s leaning towards you with his hair slightly disheveled because he likes you too.
“Come on, they’re not that drunk.” You play back. The lighthearted argument makes Diluc seem a little younger. Or maybe that’s just how he looks when he’s not consciously frowning or lips pressed into a serious line.
“Kaeya’s missing all his targets on the dartboard. I’d call that drunk enough.”
“You can tell? I don’t think I’d be able to even if I was sitting with them now.”
“So you’d rather be talking to them?” Diluc raises his brow, surprising you. He doesn’t say anything for a beat, then another, before a gleeful laugh bubbles from your lips.
“Are you feeling jealous?” You lean closer to Diluc, faces an inch apart. The bravado that courses through your veins is quickly extinguished and flares into burning hot fluster when Diluc’s fingers curl around your chin:
“And if I said yes?” His words ghost over your lips. Your ears are on fire.
Oh no.

I was playing Genius Invocation yesterday, but out of nowhere this idea came to me like tge whispers of an old god.
How would the characters react to knowing they are the creator's favorite card? (Mine are Beidou and Ningguang, but if you are confortable, I would like to know yours as well)
AHDAALLL I HAVENT PLAYED TGI CARD GAME ENOUGH!! SO FOR NOW I RLLY LOVE THE WAY CYNO AND KAEYA'S ART LOOKS (tho diluc does look shmall in his hehe)
Thank you for your patience!! Sorry this is SO FUCKING late :0 and if it’s bad! i havent rlly liked my writing the past couple pieces, so i stuck with some fun headcanons i thought of while kicking me feet and twirling my hair over this question hehehe
Sun: Gender Neutral Reader (they/them only)
Planet: General SAGAU/Isekai Stuff :)
Orbit: Headcanons
Stars: Beidou, Ningguang, Kaeya, Cyno
Comets & Meteors: Content Warnings: Cussing & Trigger Warnings: None Known.
☆
Beidou:
BIGGEST EGO BOOSTS OF HER LIFE LMAO
SHE WOULD LITERALLY SUBTLY FLEX EVERYTIME UR AROUND IM CRYINGGG
Every fucking port knows she’s a favored one, every goddamn pirate knows it atp, hell maybe even some abyss monsters at sea too-
(Kazuha’s happy for her, but also lowkey jealous)
literally got one of her cards framed and hung in her captain’s quarters, and insisted you sign it omfg-
Ningguang isnt surprised tbh, (she knows u like strong women lol)
Ningguang:
…she gives one of the most smug smirks of her entire fucking life.
All of Liyue is gushing for her, not that she isn’t also excited on the inside, she’s just more proud than anything on the outside/for appearances
Literally set up a whole date meeting that felt like it was about to turn into a goddamn wedding proposal
I’m talking giving handcarved furniture, household necessities but they’re in pretty colors that all match (like a gold tea kettle, gold throw blanket, etc.)
Full nine-yards different kinds of teas, cakes, and all accustomed to your taste
so if u dislike super sweet stuff there are more savory items, the teas can be more bitter, or if u love sweets, this woman is giving you a bakery basically every day for nearly 2 weeks, u dont have enough space in the cabinet for all these teas- help-
Kaeya:
so fucking smug on the outside, def brags about it in Angel’s Share and he’ll only just be tipsy he’s so fucking excited to talk abt it
whenever conversations end or get a lull, he just, “So anyway, our All-Powerful Guide, really likes my TCG card, maybe even above yours, Diluc…”
pls stop him he’s annoying Diluc, and slowly other patrons 😭 (there are bar rules posted on the wall, and Diluc adds one, not for the first time, specifically for Kaeya to stop talking about TCG while in the bar LMAO)
Now all Kaeya has to do is just pull out his card (cough he’s constantly got it in his pocket, the one he asked u to sign cough)
Rosaria just looks the other way like if she can’t see it it’s not real, Diluc will literally be in the middle of making a drink for one of them and just leave it halfdone and attend to somebody else, Venti’s eye twitches-
and the entire bar just groans too LMAOOO
(have a meme I made just for you <3 )
Cyno:
oh no.
Look what you’ve done, you’ve seduced the General Mahamatra!!
Take responsibility, play TCG with him every time you see him now lmao, the only reason all of Sumeru knows you like his card (which makes it all that more desirable to ppl who do play, and collectors)
is bc he talked to Tighnari about it for hourssss, and then it made it’s way down the grapevine, and if they didn’t find out that way, the other was just seeing the usually stern and formidable General Mahamatra nearly vibrate out of his headpiece when you come near him every time you visit
Cyno weirdly gains like, 20x the luck when ur either playing against him, or sitting watching him play someone else, he’s struggling to find partners tbh bc “you’re my lucky charm? Of course I’m winning more.”
When you initially told him about him being one of ur fav cards, he literally looked like there was a loading sign over his head Then proceeded to nearly break your ribs hugging you so hard, and nearly take ur eye out with the ears on his headpiece lol
☆
Sorry if all my writings shit for these past 2 posts! Idk im just thinking its not so good rn and idk how to fix it-
anyway I’ve started playing Breath of the Wild over the past like 2-3 months I think, and it’s amazingggg
I may or may not be both getting gender envy and also a huge crush on Link help-

So I Heard A Rumor...
Synopsis: You promised Kaeya drinks, he promised to be your wingman so you can finally ask his brother, Diluc, on a date. However your plan comes crashing when rumor comes out that you would be buying drinks for all the knights. You also just can't seem to get rid of this bard who keeps singing songs to you. Will you achieve your chance to ask your dream man out? Let's find out.
CW: ALCOHOL, OTHER THAN DILUC NO ONE IS GOING TO BE SOBER, minor swearing, Venti is a bit clingy too
HC: Reader is gender-neutral, Reader does not have a vision, Reader works as a knight, Reader is very clearly in love with Diluc (lol)
Characters: Diluc, Kaeya, Venti, Jean, Mentions of Favonious knights and Traveller (Honorary Knight)
Note: Going to apologise in advance because I have no idea how alcohol works as I am not a drinker and don't plan to. I clown on Diluc a lot because my friend is obsessed with him however funnily enough he is the character I have the most ideas with. I'm talking angst, fluff, comfort, everything. Anyway enjoy this cringe fest! Please make sure to like, comment or reblog the post. It helps it reach a wider audience and motivates me to write more silly stuff like this. Enjoy!
。☆✼★━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━★✼☆。
The current situation was far from ideal. Tonight was supposed to be the night you finally dared to ask Diluc out on a date. However, right now you were surrounded by drunken knights who wouldn’t stop singing along with an even more drunk bard who had his whole body wrapped around you. You could see Diluc seething at the bar, his fist clenched on the glass so tight you were certain it would break any minute now.
Backtracking to how you have ended up in this situation, it all started because of a rumour. Whispers among the crowd saying Donna was going to make her move soon. You couldn’t allow this, you had loved Diluc since his days as a knight! Sure you never dared to confess this entire time but Donna barely had any history with this man compared to you! She had a long way to go to get to your level. However, it didn’t help that Diluc was a bachelor and a perfect one at that. Even if Donna did or didn’t make her move, someone else might snatch him up sooner or later. It didn’t help that the honorary knight seemed to have become close to him as well. You need to act fast.
So you made a deal with Kaeya, if anyone was going to help you it had to be him. When you first told him about your crush he burst out laughing, before realising you were serious.
“Wait shit for real?” He asked, dumbfounded. You nod, trying not to be embarrassed. He stared at you like you had just said the most unbelievable thing. In Kaeya’s defence, you did say the most outrageous thing imaginable. He knew Diluc was considered a hot target in the single’s market, but for you to also fall for his charms? A shocking revelation.
“Are you going to help me or not?” You ask, now impatient. You didn’t have time to let him make fun of you for liking his brother, someone could be seducing him right now! Kaeya blinked at you in disbelief. However, his face soon shifted to a shit-eating grin. You groaned, instantly regretting your decision. “If you’re not then I’m going to ask someone else ok?!” You exclaim, annoyed and try your best not to give him more reason to make fun of you.
“Nah nah! You came to the right place! I’ll help, I'm an amazing wingman!” He laughed. You shushed him, you didn’t want anyone else to know about this and Kaeya tried his best to hold in his laughter but chuckles and giggles could not stop escaping this man. “Just buy me a couple of drinks and I’ll make sure you both end up in bed together by the end of the night!” He teased, which only made you groan.
That was the plan, you buy him drinks and he would help you look good enough for Diluc to swoon over you. However, for some reason, word got out and suddenly the whole knight team was out and about ready to get drinks from you.
“Wow, aren't you generous? Paying for the knights to drink as much as they want!” Swan chuckled. You didn’t know how it ended up like this, even Kaeya shrugged at you confused. Somehow word got out that you would be paying for ALL the knights to drink until they passed out. It had gotten so big that even Jean decided to join in.
“Well, the knights barely have time to come together and have fun, so I couldn’t miss this.” She smiled at you and that stopped you from calling the whole thing off because there was no way you could say no to Jean.
So now here you were, at Angel Share, drunk knights singing and playing games at the bar. You chugged down on a bottle of wine, feeling like absolute shit. Not only were you going to have to pay for all this but right now you were the worst offender in Diluc’s eyes. Dragging all the knights here and ruining his shift. All you wanted to do was confess but instead, you ended up creating the worst environment for any love to happen.
Finally the damn bard on your lap. You don’t know how he got into this but he was drinking off your tab as well. He was so grateful for your generosity that he decided the best way to show it was by singing tunes dedicated to you while sitting on your lap. He had one arm wrapped over your neck, which strummed the lyre in his hands. He was wrapped around you like spaghetti on a fork. It didn’t help that Diluc could see this man sit on your lap while singing tunes about how wonderful you were.
So right now in Diluc’s eyes, you were, a drunk who wastes their money on alcohol, loves to bring chaos to environments, and also a flirt who has no shame in doing PDA with strangers. The least ideal person to date. You avoided any eye contact with Diluc, you could not face him at this point. You turned to look at Kaeya who was completely out of it. He had drunk so much that he was pretty much passed out just a couple of minutes ago.
‘So much for being a wingman…’ you thought, but honestly speaking in this situation, if Kaeya spoke up it would have probably ended up worse. You looked at the time, seeing how it was almost 12. The bar was set to close soon and Diluc would begin to kick out the knights. Finally, this terror would end and you could go back to your house to cry yourself to sleep. You were smart enough to call the next day off. you hoped whoever spread the rumour had a terrible hangover tomorrow while working the next day. They deserved it.
As you continued to curse the people who spread these twisted rumours, the bard decided to speak up after chugging down another glass. “You seem down my friend! Another song will cheer you up!” He laughed, stringing his lyre once more ready for another song. Cheers of knights could be heard across the bar, hyping him up for another. You sighed, placing a hand on the lyre and putting it down. “No no, I think we had enough songs for tonight. Let’s end the night guys.” You say, trying to stand up while carrying the bard bridal style.
As you tried to stand up, the bard whined trying to shake you off. You underestimating how drunk you were couldn’t carry his weight anymore, especially when he was moving around. You tried to steady yourself but the bard would not stop squirming leading you to slip and fall down. Making sure the bard didn’t hit the floor, and get hurt you shifted your body so you would land on the ground instead, your back hitting flat on the floor while the bard fell on top of you to soften his fall.
The bard whined, resting his head on your chest while you had your grip him to make sure he didn’t get hurt during the fall. The crack of glass could be heard in an instance. Everyone turned towards the sound to see that Diluc had in fact, shattered the glass he was cleaning the entire night.
“Out.” He said. The aura in the tavern immediately turned grim. Knights anxiously made their way out the door, saying their goodbyes to you. Jean carried Kaeya on her back, giving you a weak drunk smile before heading out as well. The bard clearly didn't get the clue as he had passed out on top of you.
Diluc was mad and it was all your fault. You could feel the tears come out. It especially didn’t help that you were drunk out of your mind, unable to hold back your emotions. You gently pushed the bard off you, trying to stand up. At this point, the only people left were you, Diluc, and the passed-out bard.
You mumble sorry, trying to get up while tears continue to flow down your face. Unable to see clearly made it a bit of a struggle to get up, it also prevented you from noticing Diluc who had somehow made his way to you. You jolted up, almost falling over once more, but he caught you before another slip occurred. His arm wrapped your waist gently, steadying you up. You could feel yourself heat up.
“You have to be careful. Here.” He mumbled, guiding you to sit down. You were shocked he had not kicked you out honestly. You looked at him teary-eyed as he pulled out a handkerchief from his apron, dapping your tears away.
“You can sit here and wait until I close. I’ll drop you off afterward. “ He exclaimed, placing the cloth in your hands. “Oh no you don’t have to, I need to drop off the bard home first.” You say, your hands gripping on the cloth ever so tightly. You didn’t dare to stay with Diluc, especially after how terrible the night went. You wanted to leave as soon as possible but the minute you mentioned the bard you could see Diluc halt.
His gaze turned cold as he glared at the unconscious bard on the floor. He walked towards him, picking the bard up from the scruff of his clothes and heading towards the door. He tossed the bard out like trash before dusting his hands off. “Venti can figure out his way to get home. You're unsteady and drunk, so I’m taking you home myself.” You had no escape now. Muttering an ok, you put your head down trying to feel as small as you could.
Were you such a mess that Diluc didn’t think you were capable enough to get home? You were still a knight! Sure you weren’t an honorary knight but you were one, and a decent one at that. You could feel your thoughts spiral but it always leads to the same conclusion. Diluc would never like you back and probably felt pity for you.
You didn’t know how long you were lost in your thoughts, before Diluc spoke up. “I’m done, let’s get going.” He said. You try to answer but the alcohol finally seems to be in your system because you couldn't force yourself to say coherent words. You groan which only made Diluc sigh.
He lifted you from your seat, making you wrap your arm around his neck. He wrapped his arm around your waist once more and held onto your arm with his hand. You immediately could feel the heat from his body. You were already sweating because of the alcohol but now with his heat on your side, you could almost feel your skin burn. You whine, trying to push him away a bit but his grip on you was firm. You look him directly in the eyes. Big mistake.
He had the same poker face he usually had but for some reason, stars were dancing in his eyes tonight. Was he always this beautiful? You weren’t sure if the alcohol was playing tricks on your mind because you couldn’t believe how stunning this man looked. Looking carefully at his face you could see light scars scattered around his jaw. His cheeks were decorated with slight freckles. You couldn't believe how close you were to even notice them.
You weren’t sure what came over you but it was too late to stop the words from spilling out of your mouth. “I’m in love with you.” You stared at him before suddenly realising what you had just said. You can’t believe you had just said that. You wanted to take it back, your brain was wrecking up on excuses to say to him.
‘It’s a joke’ or ‘I didn’t mean to say that’ or even an ‘I meant it for someone else’. Your brain kept thinking of various things you could say but nothing would spill out. So here you were mouth gaping open, begging yourself to say something.
Diluc sighed, and you could feel your heart shatter. “Let’s take you home.” You didn’t argue, letting him drag you back to your house. You could feel yourself fall asleep on the way. You gave up in defeat. At least you were off the next day, you would be able to drown in your sorrows tomorrow.
As you tried to comfort yourself, you felt yourself drift off asleep. You could hear Diluc speak but the words wouldn’t register, you needed to escape from him for a bit.
—
You woke up on your bed, you turned to look out the window to see that it was still clearly night. You groan, sitting up on your bed. Your room was dark but you could see a light peeking under the door of your room, the living room light was still on. You groggily walk out of the room to turn it off, only to see Diluc outside. He was in the kitchen, rummaging through the cabinets.
You look at him in disbelief while he turns to face you. “You ok? It’s too late to buy hangover medicine so I wanted to see if you had any stocked up.” You try to speak, only to be stopped by a cough. Your throat felt so dry, you couldn’t say a word. “Oh, drink this.” Diluc handed you a glass of water, which you chugged down in an instant.
“I was going to hand it to you with the medicine but never mind. You should go rest, I’ll leave soon.” He said, continuing his search in your cupboard. You shook your head. “You can just leave, it’s fine, I can take care of myself.” You wanted him gone as soon as possible. As domestic as it felt having him in your house taking care of you, this man rejected your confession and you didn’t have the strength to handle it at this moment.
You had a splitting headache and a broken heart and Diluc being here was not going to fix that. Diluc halted, stopping his search, you could see a frown on his face as he closed the drawers before turning to you. “Can I ask you something?” He asked, ever so quietly. He was always a silent type of guy, but even this time you could hear how vulnerable he was. The way he asked you in such a soft way made you instantly answer him without a second thought. “Go ahead.” You wanted to hit yourself, you wish you didn’t have such a soft spot for him.
“I heard a rumour, going around…” he continued. He played with his hands, fiddling them about as if he was feeling shy. You cringed at the thought, why would Diluc of all people feel shy? You were just being delusional at this point. As you contemplated your thoughts he continued. “People were saying you invited the knights out for drinks because you got engaged, is that true?”
The cup you had in your hands dropped to the ground. You were glad it wasn’t glass because it would have shattered in an instant, and you had seen enough things shatter today. However, you honestly could not believe the words that had just come out of Diluc’s mouth. “Wait what? Are you serious?” You ask, completely thinking this was a prank. “Why would you think that? Who would even say that?” Who was spreading these rumours around? You were going to kill them.
“So it’s false?” “Of course it’s false! I’m not even dating anyone!” You exclaim, now wondering whether your confession was rejected because Diluc thought you were cheating on your nonexistent partner.
“So you aren’t dating Venti?” “I don’t even know who that is!” You say, frustrated. You put your hands on your face, feeling annoyed. You groan into them in anger. All these stupid rumours were the reason you were here with a horrible headache and Diluc looking at you like you were scum on Earth. You wanted to crawl up into a ball and disappear right now.
“Then can you do me a favour?” Diluc spoke up, disturbing your grovelling session. You look up from your hands and stare at him sadly. “What?” You weakly ask.
“Can you confess to me again when you aren’t drunk?” You blink, unsure of what you just heard. “What?” You say, still unable to process what he had just asked you to do.
“Your confession. Say it to me when you aren’t drunk.” He said once more, looking at you with his unchanged expression. He was being deadly serious. He was asking you to confess again. “Wait wait, so you don’t hate me?” Diluc tilted his head, eyebrow raised. He seemed shocked you even said that. “Why would I ever hate you? Were people saying that?” He asked, crossing his arms, his face turned dark when he said it but you shook your head. “No no, but, does that mean you like me?” You ask, feeling sheepish.
And for the first time this entire night, you could see a small smile fall on his lips. His face softened, no longer a glare in his eyes. His cheeks rose a bit when he smiled and you were certain this smile was for you. “Ask again when you aren’t reeking of alcohol.” He retorted back playfully. “Now, off to bed, I’ll head out now. I heard that you won’t be at work tomorrow so I better hear from you soon.”
With that, he left you, alone in your house, with your thoughts full of him. You knew for a fact you were not going to be able to sleep the entire night, nor was your headache going to be fixed by any type of medicine.
Sorry Mondstadt, but your favourite bachelor is finally going to be off the market!
—
The slight sounds of a lyre could be heard in the distance on the streets of Mondstadt. A drunk bard still singing a tune.
“Did you hear about this rumour? There is going to be love in the air soon~”

A Little Company
summary: you just want Kaeya to feel happy on this day.
pairing: kaeya x gn!reader
type: oneshot, not proofread
warnings: mentions of death, grieving (??)
a/n: anytime I play with Kaeya I keep the volume off because his voice low-key annoys me 😭
————————★————————
Everyone knew that Dawn Winery was closed on this particular day, and no one minded. The citizens of Mondstadt knew that today was a time when Diluc went off to an unknown place and let his staff have the day off. The regular day to day person didn’t know the reason for this but those closer to the family did.
It was the day of death for Diluc and Kaeya’s father. One that Diluc always spent mourning at his father’s grave. Kaeya, however, had a different plan each year. Sometimes he would do as many commissions as his body could handle for a much grateful Katheryne. Other times he would help Jean with taxing paperwork to distract his mind. A gesture that often did not go past her head as simply a way to help out.
This time, he was told by Jean to take the day off. Insisting the Traveler and Paimon would take care of anything they needed.
“Jean, you know there’s always work to be done around here.” Kaeya commented, leaning against the wall in her office.
“And we’ve got it handled. Go take a nice stroll, maybe get a meal at Good Hunter. You could use a day off Kaeya.” Jean responded, standing up from her chair and crossing her arms.
“You’re always commenting on how lazy I am. Complaining about how I’m constantly trying to get out of work. Yet now, you want to give me the day off?” Kaeya questioned, an eyebrow raising.
“I’ve got to go help Lisa with tracking down some misplaced library books, I better not come back to you still standing in this office.” Jean answered, walking past him and trusting him to shut the door after he sees himself out.
As much as he wanted to stay there just to spite Jean, he didn’t. Deciding it would be nice to take a stroll around Starfell Valley. Possibly take care of a few Hillichurl camps if need be. Maybe even catch the sunset stop Starsnatch cliff. It was a nice idea; Kaeya decided to try it.
Evening came quicker than he anticipated. He hadn’t realized how far he had hiked until he payed attention to the more orange glow the sun started to have and the pain in his legs. His mind had been elsewhere and he wouldn’t admit it. He knew he shouldn’t have spent this day alone. Being alone only gave him time to think.
His brother always paid proper tribute to his father but Kaeya couldn’t bring himself to visit the man’s grave. It was too….it made it too real. Kaeya knew his dad was long gone, though there days he liked to pretend otherwise.
He was surprised to see you sitting atop the cliff when he arrived. A basket sat next to you which piqued his curiosity.
“A picnic hmm?” He asked, sitting down beside you and motioning to the basket. You could tell his voice lacked the buoyance that it normally possessed.
You knew what today was and you knew how Kaeya avoided it. You’d seen him for years ignore the significance of the date and hide the pain that came to his eyes.
Pulling out a parcel from the basket, you handed it to him.
“I had Sara make it for you. She told me it was your favorite and I figured you’d be hungry after climbing all this way.” You offered it to him with a small smile.
“It smells delicious…but how’d you know I was going to be here?” He responded with a bit of surprise, taking the parcel in his hands and unwrapping it.
“Because I took care of Jean’s paperwork, made sure the Traveler and Paimon would be here, and bought out all the wine in the other taverns around Mondstadt.” You confessed, watching him eat the meal you had gotten him.
You watched him raise an eyebrow in question.
“I knew you’d try to hide from it Kaeya, the significance of this day. I wasn’t going to let you. Everyone deserves the opportunity to be alone and reflect. I knew you wouldn’t chase after the opportunity to do so yourself. So, I found a way to gently push you in the right direction.”
He was a bit stunned by how you had gone out of your way to do all this for him. You forced him to take the time he knew he needed but would never give himself. For once, he was completely silent after your statement. No quick-witted remark or flirty compliment, just thoughtful silence.
“Thank you, you clearly care about me if you were willing to do all of this.” He stared, looking at you in the orange light of the setting sun.
“I do care for you and I want you to be happy. Not just temporary happiness though. You deserve the kind of happiness that comes after reflection and thought.” You replied
He desperately wanted to lighten the mood. He couldn’t possibly respond in an equally meaningful manner to you. So, he reached an arm around you to slowly open the picnic basket.
“You wouldn’t have happened to bring any of that wine you bought, would you?” A small mischievous smile danced on his lips.
You laughed lightly and gently swatted his hand away from the basket.
“Easy, easy, I was getting to that.”
Pulling out a bottle of wine from The Cat’s Tail, you handed it to him with a glass to pour it in. Getting up, you dusted your clothing off. You gave him a small wave, then turned and took a few steps in the opposite direction.
“Now wait just a moment, where are you going? Leaving me all alone with a nice meal and a bottle of wine is quite rude you know.” Kaeya stated in a gentle tone, a small chuckle coming out afterwards.
“I figured you could use a bit more time to yourself.” You turned to face him as you replied.
Looking up at you with a smirk he motioned to the spot you had been previously sitting in.
“Well since it’s you, I wouldn’t mind a little company.”

Imposter AU with a twist Part 2!
Tw: Swearing, a bit of yandere Albedo, Your friend is a horrible person and gets slapped on the face with some Karma and Trauma.
A/n: I didn’t want to keep saying ‘Your friend’ so I named her Bethany and Beth. Also I feel like this blog is more of a crackfic blog since there’s barely any serious writing. But hey it’s fun to write. Someone wanted it and I hope I met the expectations
Day’s and weeks and a single month has passed since you descended to Teyvat from the bottomless pits of hell. People are still after your head, the pick me imposter still has not been visited by Karma, and you got a yandere, kinda. I’m saying kinda because Albedo is possessive of you and that’s all…..for now.
During the month of being in Minecraft survival mode some more characters believed you’re the OG creator. That and they just can’t handle your friend, who I shall name Bethany. Sorry to all Bethany’s but Imma steal your name real quick.
Diluc is a good example of not handling Bethany. He has told you that she would cry when a man, his brother and five other men, don’t pay attention to her. She would tell Childe to get her the most expensive gift and throw it away afterwards. He finds her annoying and one point he told you “If I had to choose between Kaeya and….the girl. I would choose Kaeya right away. That’s how annoying she is.”
Now here comes the fun part of this AU. The finding out that the imposter is the OG creator. Like I said the last part Karma is gonna slap her face sooner and later, well Karma not only slapped her but gave her the ultimate shoe slap, with a boot and high heel.
In the Imposter AU the only thing to tell from Imposter and Real apart was the golden child blood test thingy. There is one way where I feel like would be more funny and that is the ‘accident’ way.
The accident way is probably the most funniest way of people finding out that they fucked up. Imagine this, Your walking back to where ever the failed experiment is to give him the flowers he needed. But along the way your arm got scratched by a random branch. This y/n is clumsy they bump into things a lot and whenever they do they just rub off the pain until they or someone else tells them that they’re bleeding. So back to the branch thing, you got scratched by the lonely piece of wood and kept walking. Only to cross a certain traveler and they’re somehow flying food.
They cross paths, Aether doesn’t bother looking and has a place to be. Paimon on the other hand saw the gold shimmering blood and was like “Wait a MINUTE!”
“You there! Paimon has a very serious question!” Paimon yelled out but you kept on walking ignoring her as if she’s a ghost. That was until paimon told Aether and Aether is now chasing after you. Like I know I need my daily dose of adrenaline but why it gotta be like this?
While running Aether was yelling and Venti being the little shit he is heard it in the wind. Don’t ask me how that makes sense he’s the god of air. Now venti is in front of you and let’s skip a hour or two after.
Scratch that make one hour turn into 3 hours of no stop arguing. Not between you and the worshipers or overly simps but between you and Bethany.
Bethany Heard that people found you and wanted to see you uh turn the bye bye life light on. So she came in the most ugliest dress ever in the mind of y/n.
While being surrounded by the archons as they looked at you with disgust. You were on the ground with a sword against your neck. The archons believe that you put gold glitter on your arm to get the chance of stealing their graces spot? Does glitter even exist in Tevyat?
“You go to such lengths to steal our graces spotlight?!” Yelled Zhongli still having the pole arm against your neck. You are just sitting there on the floor slightly terrified because my god scary archons are more scarier then your mom.
“Sir, I didn’t even have a choice to look like that Beth Meth girl. It’s called Genes. GEN-NET-ICS.” You called out making everyone yell out insults. All of a sudden Bethany comes walking down as the people spread out like the sea. Everyone bowed and said praises.
“You really wearing that dress? It looks like something that Carella Deville would wear and honey that’s not necessarily a good thing” and that sent the lighter to the bomb.
“Well at least I have more things then you do. I would have an entire world after you are dead.” Beth’s sassy ass said as everyone is just wondering if you two know each other. Not only are you two fighting but Diluc and Aether are having to hold back Albedo so he doesn’t do….bad things.
Back to Beth with the meth fighting match. The light you started finally reached the bomb having Bethany spill everything she has done, on earth and Teyvat out loud. My god she did more stuff than you thought.
“You are always in the fucking way! Nothing I do to you ever works! I had to take money from you so your parents would hate you so you would feel shitty because of them. I spread rumors of you so people hated you. Hell I even practiced make up so people would believe you hit me!”
That’s not even the tip of the ice burg and yet many many people are in a state of shock that they are frozen in place. Oh and albedo? Ya Diluc and Aether are having a struggle. With the bomb being set off nothing is stopping Bethany to say anything and everything she has done to you. What are you doing? Letting her scream and yell since Karma is coming closer and closer.
“Then when I was Teleported here people said I was a god! They treated me better than you! I got the attention I wanted! No one was gonna try and steal the spotlight if they did I would just send someone to kill them. I have men at my fingertips so if someone insulted me or I found the person annoying I would send them to kill the person. Easy Peasy just make up a reason and they’ll do it.”
After she said that many people gasped and a few people yelled “Is that why my son/daughter went missing/were found dead?!” Yeah what a shocker now. The once looked up god is now the imposter and committed more crimes then the Fatui. She was about to say more but you stopped her.
“You did all that? Dear you’re worse than the American government and the Fatui combined. I’ll tell you why people were nice to me and not you.” You stood up with you hands behind your back. No one stopped you they wanted to see what would happen. “I’m genuinely nice to people and they do it back but some don’t. Take yourself for example, I was nice to you. I checked up on you everyday to make sure you where ok but you did all this instead.”
Bethany’s face was more redder then Diluc and a tomato together. She was furious that you came an ruined everything. She started to shout nonsense as you backed away slowly. She didn’t notice so she kept throwing insults after insults while you were all the way in the back with albedo.
Some hydro slimes and cryo slimes were walking around her as they were just doing Slime things. But one electro slime made a mistake of walking in front of her and, by accident or not, zapping her feet slightly. She let out a screech and hopped from one foot to another. Since the hydro slimes were walking around her they made the ground slightly wet. Thanks to the cryo slimes they made the slightly wet ground icy and slippery.
So while she was hopping she slipped on the ice. Fortunately or unfortunately you guys were by a cliff of some sort. I think you know what happened, she fell down but survived as the cliff wasn’t that high. So yay?
After she fell you stood there for a few minutes before saying “Ah, Karma did give her a punch in the face after all……But that seemed planed.” You looked at the slimes with a suspicious face. The hydro slime just turned around and walked away while the electro slime was like “oh this Leaf on the floor is so interesting wow” what is the cryo slime doing? Looking over the cliff where Bethany feel almost mocking her. “Haha bish you slipped” is what the cryo slime is probably thinking.

A SAGAU Impostor AU Songfic
Song used: Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen
...so I caved. Yep. Starting a new series even though i already have one. To be fair, i felt like i needed a break from that series since that beast needs a whole lotta world building and im planning for it to get into some heavy fucken subjects. This one tho is more chill and light-hearted, since theyre all just a bunch of kind of disconnected one shots that are all kind of connected. So like-- when this series gets a lil longer, you can literally start from any fic since its all connectedly disconnected. A better example was my original idea of me just writing the end goal where they finally defeat the impostor like-- directly after the Castaway fic to rlly show how connectedly disconnected it is but i refrained myself since i wanted to write more wanderer. Been playing as him a lot but i havent rlly done the archon quest yet lol but hes just a blast. Hes an annoying lil shit (affectionate)
Blue for Barbara, Yellow/Gold for Zhongli, Green for Wanderer, red for Diluc, Italics is Reader/General, Combined is Everyone. Colors only used for singing parts.
---
Is this the real life?
You were running again, the spears and arrows of the Millelith chasing you all across Liyue.
Is this just fantasy?
Zhongli was by your side, steadfast as a rock as he shielded you from their weapons-- both with his Jade Shields and his body.
Caught in a landslide,
A loose rock almost sent you tumbling down into the depths of the Chasm, Barbara grabbing you just in time.
No escape from reality.
Diluc recognizes the path you were taking towards Tiangong Gorge, immediately rushing off to the Chasm's Maw and letting loose Dawn-- his phoenix rising up into the sky like a blazing beacon, just buy the rest of you more time. He'll rejoin you once again, he knows the path you'd take. He's your main afterall.
Open your eyes,
The three of you make it, the relief from seeing the glow of the blue Waypoint almost bringing you to your knees.
Look up to the skies and see,
You stumble in, Barbara hauling your arm over her shoulder as Zhongli collapses the tunnel behind you. You may be Overseer of Teyvat but he is the Overseer of Liyue, and its stones still answers to his call. There is nothing left but the browns and greens that creep towards the borders of Liyue.
I'm just a poor boy, I need no sympathy,
Your little group exit the cavern, the fresh air of the rainforest cooling the sweat on your backs and you see Haypasia's "little neighbor" peeking up from behind a leaf.
Because I'm easy come, easy go,
The tiny Aranara, though a little hesitant that more people could see him now, takes your hand and guides you through Avidya Forest. Thank goodness you had caved from your siblings nagging and finally done at least a part of the Sumeru quest.
Little high, little low,
You were still unfamiliar with the lands of Sumeru, trusting your little lettuce friend to lead you to a place of safety, of rest.
Any way the wind blows doesn't really matter to me,
Lettuce, as you had affectionately named him, lead you all deep into the rainforests of Sumeru all while deftly avoiding the little village of forest rangers and the rangers themselves. You hadn't said a word to him but you knew, deep in somewhere, that he would be leading you somewhere safe. Somewhere protected.
Though this... wasn't what you expected.
To me.
He turns to your group, the smell of tea faintly wafting from the pot he was tending. "I don't think I need to introduce myself, do I?"
-
After the short but silent panic that washed over the three of you (it took the you and Barbara 5 minutes to even get a centimeter pulling Vortex Vanquisher out the cave wall while Zhongli aggressively apologized to him), the four of you were sat on the floor watching the Wanderer tend to the bubbling pots of food he was making.
There was a strange... very not tense(?), and very awkward energy in the air as he set aside cups and bowls for all of you, his own cup still full with steaming almost black water. Zhongli was very noticeably trying not to stare at his oversteeped tea.
Little Lettuce had already left, presumably to keep an eye on the area or watch out for Diluc. You didn't want to use him as a shield or a way to break the ice or something but god-- the energy in the air was just so uncomfortable.
You all watched Wanderer in this terse silence prepare your food, his soft chopping of the grilled unagi sounding like death knells in your cave. He took each of the bowls he set out, placing a considerable amount of rice in each and a small handful of dried seaweed and sesame seeds. Bringing out a jar of umeboshi from his inventory, he placed each slab of unagi with a single umeboshi atop the bed of rice and seaweed.
He pours out the tea onto the rice, 1, 2, 3... and stops. He cocks his head. Frowns.
"Wasn't there supposed to be four of you?"
And the silence was broken.
"W-well, little lettuce already left--"
"Not the aranara-- wait, you named him lettuce? Tsk, whatever. Where's the other one? The red one?"
"Oh, uhm, Diluc?"
He nods, the small scowl on his face almost carved into him. You feel your face heat as you turn your face away from him.
"He ran off. To the Maw. Let out his burst as a diversion to buy us time --but he'll find us. He'll come back. He knows the way, he knows how I think, he knows what I'll do. He'll come back."
Wanderer sighs, disappearing the extra bowl. You're not sure whether you said all that to stop his retort or to diminish your own worry.
You're shaken from your thoughts by Barbara holding your hand. She gives it a squeeze, and you squeeze back, thankful for the comfort.
"Are you just gonna keep staring at your food or do you want to die of both exhaustion and starvation?"
"Okay, eating now!"
You're handed a warm bowl of Shimi Chazuke, Wanderer's specialty. It didn't look like its in game icon, only having the plump umeboshi on top of a bed of rice and seaweed with the pale tea glistening in the light. But you had come to learn that many things in game didn't translate directly, there sure as hell no quest or mention of a "Divine Overseer, and yet-- and yet.
You bring the bowl up to your face, the warmth soaking into your aching, tired hands and its steam gently caressing your face. You mix a portion of the rice together with the tea, scoop it up, and put it into your mouth.
And practically turn into jelly at the taste.
"Umai...!" you moan, savoring the taste of it all.
The fresh rice soaked in the bitter tea tasted amazing, each bite slowly turning into a different flavor as the oils and sauce from the grilled unagi gradually mixed in with the rice. Cutting up a bit of the eel with your spoon, you mix it with the rice and your mouth burst with deliciousness.
The eel was grilled to perfection, plump and juicy and flaky. And with the addition of the tea, it introduced flavors you hadn't even imagined from a simple grilled fish.
As you were about to burst that plump little plum, the Wanderer stopped you, a strange look on his face. He handed you a handkerchief.
"Wipe your face, the flavor's gonna be off if you mix it with your tears."
Stunned, you took the handkerchief. "Oh."
It... had been a long time since you've eaten good food and found a place to rest. Too long.
You hold it close to your chest, eyes squeezed shut as you tried to calm down. After a moment, you wipe away the sweat, and tears, and snot, and grime that had accumulated on your journey. It had been such a long time since you first found kindness in this world, even if that kindness came from an emotionally stunned automaton designed to be a god.
You chuckled to yourself, a wet little thing, as you realize that you kept weeping harder and harder with each swipe of the cloth. You bury your face in it, the handkerchief practically soaked with your tears as you take a few calming breaths to finally stop your tears.
"I'm... I'm sorry, I-- its been a while since I've... yeah. Uhm..."
You take a breath, still wet with your snot. "I, uh... I'm gonna keep this, I uh-- ruined it. I'll, I'll clean it though! If you want it back."
Wanderer, handily ignoring your breakdown just earlier, cringes in disgust. "No thanks. Keep it, you need it more than me if you decide to bawl your eyes out again."
Despite the harshness of it, you soften, tucking the offending handkerchief away. "Thanks." "Don't ever mention it."
He reclines back into his little designated space in your cave, and hesitantly stokes the fire with his anemo vision. You pick your unfinished bowl of chazuke, umeboshi still waiting to be eaten. It was good to know that at least there was a few things that didn't change now that you're here.
"Are you finished yet? Stop gawking at your food and finish it so I can do the dishes."
Yep, some things just never change.
You finally finish your meal with the silence in the cave now something much more comfortable, the crackling of the fire and the quiet rushing and clanking of dishes almost lulling you into a sense of "you don't have a bounty placed on your head and are definitely not running from anyone and everyone for fear of them betraying you and handing you over to your megalomaniacal doppelganger".
Wanderer, having lost the argument of who does the dishes against Barbara, was definitely not sulking in his little corner and absolutely not fiddling with his new(?) anemo vision. "So, why'd you come here to Sumeru anyways? I know you definitely were not looking for me, considering the fact you tried to impale my head on sight. Which to be fair," he chuckles at Zhongli's sheepish face, stood near the cavern entrance. "I would do the same."
You absentmindedly plucked the strings of your Windblume Lyre, the instrument becoming a sort of stimming/coping device, helping you deal with everything that had happened to you. He hummed to himself, the cogs turning in his head. "I can't think of any other reason why you'd come here-- finding and trusting in me is a huge gamble that you won," he clarified, turning away from Barbara's blank stare. "the ancient Khaenri'ahn technology scattered around Sumeru won't be of any use if you were considering taking the fight to your impostor, the Irminsul Tree could be a good reason but I can't see any way you'd use it to help you, though knowledge is always good to have anyways."
He scoffed, reclining into the dirt of your cave. "Archons, imagine how ridiculous it would be if you just ran here because you had no choice but to! Like a bunch of scared animals, ahaha!"
You slowly sink behind your lyre as he continues.
"In my time here, you're infamous for always evading their grasp-- heck, there's even an entire division of scholars here dedicated to just trying to figure out how in the world you do it. Some say you're a master at faking trails, some say you have some sort of... psychic power that lets you read the mind of your enemies so you can anticipate their moves."
He shrugs.
"Honestly, I'm more inclined to believe that last one-- in my brief time as your Vessel before your descent, you somehow managed to find information about me, despite my entire existence being wiped from the Irminsul Tree. Add to that the experiences that your other Vessels had, and it's a pretty compelling case." A sigh. "Shame that probing is one-sided though, a peek into the mind of the 'Divine Deceiver' or 'Overseer' or whatever fancy title you call yourself would be quite intriguing. Who knows what schemes are you cooking up in there. Now tell me,"
He straightens, eyes boring into yours from where you were, at this point, hiding in shame behind your lyre. "why are you here in Sumeru?"
"Aha... ha... haaa..." If you had a pyro vision, your face would be on fire by now. You had to turn away, the warmth of embarrassment creeping down your neck. "Well, uhm..." You clear your throat, gulping as you try to even find the words to explain how much of a legitimately normal person you are, who was practically forced to grow brain cells specifically for scheming because if you didn't you would die.
"So, uh...ah he he he... heh..." you take a breath, a shaky grin on your lips. "So, you know how reality is sometimes stranger than fiction?"
He raises an eyebrow.
"Well..."
You vaguely gesture, hoping that your flailing would get your message across.
He stares at you. He stares some more. He blinks.
"No."
"Yeah."
"No..."
"Yeah...
"NO."
"YEAH--"
His mouth drops in shock as he tries to process what you're implying. The rumors painted a... much prettier and mightier picture of you than the both of you thought.
"I-- you-- wha-- how-- what?!"
He takes a breath, chest rising despite his lack of a need for air. He pinches the bridge of his nose, and you get the feeling that he's restraining himself from grabbing you by the shoulders and shaking you stupid.
"So, you're telling me. That the 'Divine Deceiver' and their little posse made of a literal god, the once-captain of Mondstat's Knights of Favonius, and Mondstat's most renowned healer idol, have, quite literally, been running around like rats all over Teyvat and somehow, somehow staying alive by a thread?!"
"I KNOW MAN, I HAVE NO IDEA HOW WE'RE STILL ALIVE--"
"Oh my--"
He begins to growl, a black orb of anemo energy collecting in his palm. You squeak as you try to scramble to your feet, his face full of rage.
And the whirling winds in your cavern suddenly stops, Wanderer dismissing the dark energy in his hand. "Oh, relax."
He blows a raspberry at you, as you groan and sit back down. You bring your lyre back out from where you unconsciously disappeared it and clutch it like a lifeline.
"God, I never knew your idle could be that scary."
"...Idle?"
Barbara waves off his question, a sheepish expression on her face as she fixes her curls back into place. "Its... complicated. You'll learn more about it as you travel with us." She hands him the used and cleaned bowls and utensils. "You... will travel with us, right?"
He scoffs, taking the bowls and disappearing them with a flash of light. "Of course I will. Its literally in my name. Besides, I have nothing that ties me down anymore so I might as well wander with you guys."
She smiles at him, ever sweet and ever kind. She settles back down near the fire, drying her soaking hands. Though Zhongli is still taking watch by the cavern entrance, you could see the slightest look of pleased approval in his face. "Though if you are going to be travelling and running from the law with me, we need to make a plan instead of scurrying around like rats."
And at that, the entire cavern groans in exhaustion. "Not now, please." "We'd like to have some rest first, Wanderer!" "Please, fuck, no-- I've had enough scheming for 3 thousand years--"
"Wait, so you did have a plan going into Sumeru?!"
You wave him off, hands going to rest back upon the strings of your trusty lyre. "Well, it was more of like... a guideline? A safety net? We had a couple ideas on what to do if we ever ended up in Sumeru and we, yknow, ended up in Sumeru so we'll probably do that."
You pluck a couple strings as you remember what you "planned". "I hadn't finished the Sumeru main quest yet and I hadn't unlocked all of the Statues of the Seven yet either. We were thinking of unlocking all the Statues first since, without them, my 'all-encompassing' game map is jack shit here in Sumeru, and then we were thinking of finishing the main quest to both progress the story and better the... political? climate here along with a few other benefits. After that..."
You make a face, much more aggressively playing at your lyre. "We really didn't want to split up the party but, I kinda wanna finish the main story quest in the Chasm but also we need to collect all the Dendroculous and Electroculous for more stamina and stuff. But also, I kinda wanna visit Dragonspine since..." You let yourself trail off, the makings and ideas of plans evident in your voice.
Wanderer merely stares at you for a moment, the game terms flying over his head as Barbara mouths at him, "I'll tell you about it later". You sigh, dreading the planning of tomorrow as your fingers calm on the strings. "But, we can plan tomorrow. Please. We almost died multiple times again." He sighs, relenting. "At least you have the skeleton of a plan."
"Yes!"
Humming, you sink into the soft ground, thanking the soils of Teyvat for giving you some comforts in this trying time. What little grass in the cave caresses you in gratitude, as you pluck at your instrument.
The Wanderer sighs, as he prepares a small pot of tea. "You've been messing with that thing all night and its about to grate at my ears. Do you even know how to play?"
You chuckle a bit, sheepish as you hand the lyre over to Barbara who plays a quick, jaunty tune with a flourish. "Well, I can sing...?"
He sighs again, bowing his head and resigned to the confirmation that you were much more... ridiculous than the gossip and rumors painted you as. "Then why are you the one with the lyre?"
You shrug as Barbara starts up another little song. "Gives me something to do with my hands. Helps me calm down. Diluc and Barbara have been teaching me though when we have the time."
Your soft smile at Barbara's song turns cheeky as you turn to him. "Wanna hear what they've taught me?"
"Sure, better than forcing this inane conversation."
You giggle maniacally as you smile at Barbara, the singer immediately catching your drift. "Follow me?" "To the ends of the earth."
You laugh, as she tunes the instrument to the right notes. "Not like that you sap!" "I know, I know! But yes, of course. His song right?"
You nod. "Yep."
"'My' song...?" Wanderer tilts his head in confusion, before realization dawns on his face.
"Hey, just because it has my-- ...that name, does not immediately mean its 'my song'."
The two of you handily ignore his slip up, you drinking some water in preparation for singing and Barbara testing the lyre if its in tune. "Oh, please," you say, sitting up. "you haven't even heard the full thing yet! It's definitely your song."
He sighs, leaning back against the cavern wall. "Very well then. Indulge me."
-
You start, reciting the beginning "poem" from memory. Barbara watches and waits, fingers hovering above the strings. Wanderer cocks his head, clearly interested. She begins playing as you get halfway, the lyre an excellent substitute for the piano. You continue, the Wanderer scoffing a little at the poem's mention of a poor boy needing no sympathy, but you pay it no mind. He hasn't heard the rest of the song yet.
"Mama,"
Barbara picks up on her playing, wringing the lyre out for all its worth for those deep chords and piano-like sounds.
"Just killed a man,"
You summoned the small drum you bought from a merchant in Inazuma in preparation.
"Put a gun against his head, pulled my trigger now he's dead,"
You close your eyes, swaying to the tune of the song.
"Mama, life had just begun,"
You didn't need to open your eyes to know that he's really listening now.
"But now I've gone and thrown it all away!"
You quickly tap on the drum, trying in vain to mimic the band's performance.
"Mama!, oooh,"
Zhongli was sat at the entrance with his legs crossed and humming along.
"Didn't mean to make you cry,"
Wanderer was still. You could almost hear the turning of the cogs in his mind.
"If I'm not back again this time tomorrow,"
The steady beat of the drum was a stark contrast to the deep, heavy feeling inside his chest.
"Carry on, carry on as if nothing really matters."
His Vision pulsed, as his hand unconsciously came to caress it. Was this what it was like to have a heart?
Barbara's fingers were gentle on the strings as a set of footsteps approached the entrance of the cave. You could hear Little Lettuce's pitter-pattering and the dulcet tones of Zhongli and Diluc's voices as they catch up in the short time they've been separated.
"Too late, my time has come,"
He had closed his eyes, listening intently to the music as the waves of sound rocked him gently and deeply into his sea of memories.
"Sends shivers down my spine,"
He can see it now, those old fleeting moments of happiness before they were all ultimately destroyed.
"Body's aching all the time."
He could feel it, suddenly hyper aware of his joints and limbs. The feeling of phantom strings and hands pulling and pushing him like he was some puppet. (But it wasn't like he was ever anything else.)
"Goodbye, everybody. I've got to go,"
He could hear it, everyone's cries and wails of despair filling his ears as he sailed towards Inazuma City to beg the Shogunate (his mother) for mercy that they would not grant.
"Gotta leave you all behind to face the truth."
He could also hear the Doctor's cackling laughter as he began to weave his web of lies, webs that would replace the strings that she had put on him. That he had cut away.
"Mama!, oooh,"
He could see it, the light shining through the patches in the walls and the roof of that old hut. The kind and innocent smile on that sickly, young face.
"I don't wanna die,"
He could see it, red, red, red lapping up and eating away at the walls and roof of the house. Red, red, red all around them. As if he was asleep in a meadow of flowers. (or sinking into a pool of blood)
"I sometimes wish I'd never been born at all.!"
You all gave him his moment, deep in his sea of memories. Diluc was wordlessly playing the zither, an imperfect substitute for an electric guitar. He'd noiselessly joined into your impromptu concert after he was caught up on the situation by Zhongli who had promptly disguised the mouth of the cavern as some kind of rock formation.
As he played, you thought back to the Wanderer's words. To the moment you first heard him say that-- his character teaser. Your heart had clenched back then, tears pricking the corners of your eyes but you couldn't help chuckling at his words-- that ever iconic song playing in your head. But you know that there was nothing to chuckle about here, Wanderer holding the brim of his hat in an almost vice-like grip. His jaw is clenched.
You all silently agreed to let the solo drag on at least a little bit longer. He takes a sharp breath. (You all know its his way of saying his thanks.)
Barbara begins plucking the lyre in a jaunty little tune, and you couldn't help but crack a grin. The atmosphere's heavy, but it's beginning to lift anyway.
"I see a little silhouetto of a man,"
The Wanderer scoffs, already knowing the next few lines by heart thanks to you. You all readily ignore the wetness in his sound.
"Scaramouche, Scaramouche, will you do the fandango?!"
You were surprised at everyone joining in. Wanderer especially, being caught so off-guard that he jumped in his seat. "For the nth time, no I won't!" Barbara giggles as you push onwards, a manic grin on your face.
"Thunderbolt and lightning!"
Diluc only smiles at the mildly disgruntled Wanderer, his Divine Overseer and Mondstadt's Deaconess having stood up to sing their hearts out. "I'm pretty sure that's not gonna be the last time you say that to them."
"Very, very frightening, me!"
The singing duo once again became lost in the music of the song, belting their hearts and lungs out for their one audience member. Said audience member could only crack a smile and reply, "I had a feeling."
"Galileo, Galileo,"
You had all but screeched out said scientist's name as you pointed to Zhongli. When faced with the Wanderer's incredulous look, he could only gain a fond look in his eyes, shrug and say, "You get used to it over time."
"Galileo, Galileo,"
"Wait, you're all used to this?!" Barbara's sheepish as she answers. "They sing as a coping mechanism. We kind of picked it up over time as well." Diluc shrugs again. "It's better than alcoholism."
"Galileo, Figaro! - Magnifico, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,"
Wanderer cringes-- despite this, a smile is growing on his face. "You don't have to vocalize the echoes, you imbecile!" You merely put a hand to your forehead, aiming to up the drama with your next lyrics.
"I'm just a poor boy, nobody loves me,"
He feels the tug of old memories, of old traumas still clinging to his skin. But he pays them no mind, knowing he must march onwards to the future. A future paved by a ragtag group of wanted divine beings and important people that are beginning to worm his way into his chest.
"He's just a poor boy from a poor family,"
Oh no. He's feeling it again.
"Spare him his life from this monstrosity!"
He cannot help but watch you all sing.
Barbara's fingers fly on the strings.
"Easy come,"
He felt what he felt back then, before she had forsaken him.
"Easy go,"
He felt what he felt back then, before he was fooled into thinking he had left him-- left them.
"Will you let me go?"
He felt what he felt back then, before he was torn away from him with no bigger enemy to blame but his own mortality.
"Bismillah! No!"
It was affection. It was care.
"We will not let you go!
(Let him go!)"
Oh archons, he's starting to care.
"Bismillah! We will not let you go!
(Let him go!)"
For hundreds of years, he's hardened his heart and closed himself off from everyone and everything. Sworn to scrub himself clean of human emotions.
"Bismillah! We will not let you go!
(Let me go!)"
And yet, for those same hundreds of years, he had never fully closed himself off-- never fully scrubbed away the feeling of... feeling.
"Will not let you go! (Let me go!)"
He couldn't help but glance at those two, fingers flying across the strings of their instruments. Humans, can they really be trusted?
"Will not let you go! (Let me go!)
His eyes slowly drifted to the other two, one ancient and the other practically a newborn. Can the gods really make him feel anything other than loathing?
"Never let you go!
(Never, never, never let me go!)"
He takes in their entire performance, all of them being their pure, complete, and unadulterated selves. With no masks to keep on, or roles to maintain. Merely singing, and dancing, and playing these instruments just for the heck of it.
"Oh, oh, oh!
No, no, no, no, no, no, no!"
For centuries, he has roamed this world-- seeing and meeting many new people, and yet never regarding any of them as his companions.
"Oh, mama mia, mama mia!"
Would he be able to regard these people as such?
"Mama mia, let me go!"
Would he be able to trust them, like the did with the others? To stay and not break their promises with him?
"Beelzebub has a devil put aside for me,"
Would he be able to hold on to them, and they not let go as they had been claiming over and over?
"For me!"
Well, he has no choice in the matter. He's stuck with them now, as wanted fugitives.
"For me!"
Only time will tell if they forsake him like those before him. At least he's safe in the comfort that the world had forsaken them as well. Just like him. He hopes that strange sort of kinship makes you understand. He hopes it makes you stay.
You whooped with joy as Barbara absolutely nailed that note, Diluc quickly shredding on the zither afterwards. You would've given it to Zhongli but-- the man hasn't played a guitar before. And you need a certain "je ne sais quoi" to really pull off what Queen was doing. ...Also, you needed the sound of a guitar for the song.
You glance back to the Wanderer, mostly silently listening this whole time. He was lightly bopping his hand to the beat. You smile, taking whatever victories you can get. "Beelzebub? Really?" You blow a raspberry at him, preparing for the next part of the song. "I'll tell you about it later!" You clear your throat.
"So, you think you can stone me and spit in my eye!"
Diluc hits that sick riff.
"So, you think you can love me and leave me to die?!"
Barbara, even if she's practically undetectable underneath Diluc's strumming and your-- excuse me, Zhongli's drum beating, is still managing to bring up and compliment every single one of you performing.
"Oh, baby!"
You swear, if you all weren't wanted fugitives forced to live on the LAM because of a crime you didn't commit, you'd be a killer band.
"Can't do this to me baby!"
You do gotta thank Zhongli for subtly swiping away the drums from you-- you frankly weren't quite sure how you'd be able to focus on giving this song the power ballad it deservers while also playing an instrument.
"Just gotta get out,"
Despite all your peeking on Wanderer for his opinions on the song and to check on his emotional state, you weren't exactly omniscient. You were, afterall, still performing and still getting lost in the music.
"Just gotta get right outta here!"
So you didn't notice the twinge of an... almost fond emotion lacing his face as he watches you rock out to this classic. What can you say, Diluc kills it on the zither.
The sound builds and builds, Barbara layering on top of it and you not being able to resist the urge to air guitar to it as it slowly reaches its crescendo... And crashes back down, Zhongli and Diluc humming along to the sound.
"Ooh, yeah, ooh, yeah,"
You gasp for breath, the end of the song finally coming up. Diluc's energetic playing slows down, signaling the finale.
"Nothing really matters,"
You feel sweat dripping down your skin, having danced and moved around-- possessed by the power of the song.
"Anyone can see,"
You lean your back against the cave wall, relishing in its coolness as you bring the song to a close.
"Nothing really matters... Nothing really matters, to me..."
You sigh as you sink, pleased and satisfied at everyone's performance.
"Any way the wind blows..."
Zhongli finishes it off with the rapping of the drum, mimicking a cymbal crash to his best ability. Barbara beams at the Wanderer, who looks like he's regretting singing along to that last part.
"So," you ask, out of breath. "what'cha think about the song?"
Wanderer waves off Barbara's tired but happy smile, poofing the fourth bowl back into existence and busying his hands. He prepares Diluc's Shimi Chazuke as he hums.
"Well, despite it being a complete emotional roller coaster and the utter gibberish that it contains, I suppose that its worthy being called 'my song', as you will."
"I'll fucking take it! Fives all around guys, good job!" You quickly double high five everyone in the group-- Zhongli letting you slam your hands down on his, Barbara being a quick pair of one-two taps, and Diluc just lightly bumping his full hands into yours. You turn to Wanderer, waiting for him to high five you. "You too, hat boy-- you joined in the song, you get some fives."
At least Diluc had the decency to look away when he huffed in amusement. "Hat boy?! Let me tell you, I've gone through many names and titles during my journey. And each one is more eminent than any ordinary mortal could ever imagine!"
As he said these words, his heart slowly sank to his feet as he saw the stupid, cheeky smile growing on your face. "Yes, yes... But! and I quote, 'they're all just water under the bridge to me now.
Call me whatever you like. Go ahead, let me see what you can come up with.'" The Wanderer's eye twitched.
"And that's the best you can come up with?! If you know me so well, oh, great Overseer, then you would very much know that I'm also telling you to not disappoint me! Tell me, All-Knowing Guide, am I not disappointed?!" You snorted, too tired from the day's events to feel any sort of proper fear and trepidation at this situation. "Then, I'll just keep thinking of names until something sticks, mushroom head." You pat his head. "Now, how in the world did you even get here Lulu?"
He sips from his bowl full of rice and tea. "Doro44 Sumeru Chasm sneakpeek. Would've gotten here faster if the place wasn't absolutely surrounded by treasure hoarders and Fatui. Had a bit of trouble finding it as well, since it was behind some rock walls." He grabs a small twig from the ground and starts drawing. "Its a sort of cave that's absolutely overgrown by giant roots." "You dare to ignore me?!"
You flash that same cheeky grin at him again. "We didn't ignore you, we just changed the subject!"
Nope, he takes it all back. He hates all of you.

You, lover
Two stories told in tandem. Diluc Ragnvindr grows alongside his family, and then he leaves them. Updates Thursdays.
Relationships: Diluc & Kaeya, Crepus & Diluc & Kaeya, Crepus & Diluc
Word count: 16,700/30,700
Rating: T+
From Chapter 3:
Diluc has lost count of the number of times he has found his brother out here, alone atop the roof of the winery—or the manor when it is not late in the summer season—hiding in his head, accompanied only by thoughts he will not share with anyone even though he has come to trust them so much more in the last few years, until Diluc arrives to break his solitude, though rarely his silence.
“Shhh,” he says when he notices Diluc climbing up through the little window that leads to the roof of the building, only a few feet from one of the massive cone roofs that decorate the top of their home. Diluc does his best to keep his movements soft, but he has never been able to make himself quiet like Kaeya can—fold up all his sounds until he’s entirely silent, a ghost of a boy and nothing like the real thing.
It scares him sometimes, that ghostliness, the knowledge that he could do that at any moment, make them forget he is there, that he has reason to, but Kaeya rarely uses it against him.
Diluc takes a seat beside his brother, sinking onto shingles that prod into his back, something he deems an appropriate sacrifice to ensure Kaeya does not have to be alone for long, something done one hundred times before.
The night around them is thick with heat and sweat already rolls down Diluc’s forehead. He wipes it away, scooting in closer to his brother and trying to find the same stars in his single-eyed gaze. He’s hit with the urge to reassure Kaeya that he’s allowed to remove his eyepatch in the presence of family—which he is known to do, though only ever in the privacy of one of their homes, the physicality to the boundary something Diluc has never understood—but Kaeya always carefully avoids the question and Diluc doesn’t much want an argument tonight.
Kaeya is looking toward Wolvendom, away from the massive score of stars that cuts across the sky though surely he can still see it. It is not entirely unexpected; he tends towards these bouts of melancholy frequently but they’re always worse so late in the summer.
“Why did you leave?” Diluc asks when he finally decides Kaeya won’t be annoyed with the break in silence, voice barely loud enough to be heard over the wind.
“The house was too hot,” Kaeya answers, which is a very Kaeya way to say it was actually suffocating.
Diluc watches the sweat beading on his head, the way his hand is tense against his knees even as the rest of his posture suggests he is anything but. It has all the telltale markings of one of his many late nights, full of some sort of insomnia he never seems to discuss outright.
“That’s not what I meant.”
“Then what did you mean?”
They have done this dance one thousand times. To ask Kaeya to admit something so plainly, with no hidden meanings to be found, no secret ways out for him to take, is nearly as bad as the admitting itself. It makes them even, in a way, the ask and answer, and Kaeya demands reciprocation in each of his confessions.
“When you went to Sumeru.”
“That was years ago,” he says, like it should hardly matter anymore, like Diluc doesn’t still feel like he’s going to leave at any moment, blow away with the wind.
When Diluc is silent, he admits, “I wasn’t trying to go to Sumeru.”
Diluc knows this. He’s heard this, the two or three times he’s cornered Kaeya enough to get an answer about it, or at least he’s solved it, but still something sticks in his mind.
“I know,” he says, and then, before he can think better of it, “Khaenri’ah.”
Kaeya is quiet for a long moment, a little thinking line between his eyebrows. Eventually, he corrects very softly, “Khaenri’ah.”
It’s not too different from how Diluc said it. He can barely pick out the distinction, but it’s there. More breathiness, less tongue to clutter it up. A way to Kaeya’s voice that changes aside from his tone—an accent, whispered, and in more than just volume. He used to say his name the same way, long after his accent faded on everything else, always, always, the slightest thing.
Diluc can’t really tell when he tries to mimic it. He can’t shape his lips around the word in a way that satisfies Kaeya, but he tries anyway.
Kaeya gives him a long look, something indiscernible on his face as there so often is, then turns his gaze back to the sky.
It is times like these when Diluc remembers his inheritance, the one that is so similar to his own and different in every way. He knows what it is like to have history weighing down his shoulders with every step, but nothing of what it is to have that history so far removed, its only other heirs in some faraway place, abandoning their youngest for reasons he is desperate to know.
He wonders, though Kaeya would likely tell him to stop, what it means for his brother to love this sky, love the warmth of summer air, when he was never meant to have any of it, when he should’ve been born far underground, locked away from sky and seasons and raised with something else in their place.
He doesn’t remember when he started believing it, if he believes it at all, this story Kaeya tells, more vague than his other tales yet so much more earnest in its infrequency. Moments like these make him doubt.
“I mean, you feel at home here, don’t you?”
Kaeya makes a vaguely affirmative sound. He weaves a hand in his hair and starts to braid. It’s a simple thing, three strands straight down the back, just as Diluc was taught.
“Do you have a ribbon?” he asks. A gust of wind blows between them, tossing Diluc’s hair every which way, but Kaeya’s is held firmly between two fingers.
“I don’t.”
Kaeya wets his lips and sighs. “I wanted answers about my family.”
“You thought they would be in Sumeru?”
“I thought—” he begins, before a sudden silence overtakes him. “Can’t we just forget about it?”
Diluc doesn’t think he’ll ever be able to forget about it, no matter how much Kaeya asks. He knows so little about his brother that he grasps onto each detail with all the force in his body, still growing, though not for long, and cannot bear to let go.
“All right,” he says, and they rest in silence until Kaeya laments the heat and they make their way under their shared roof once more.

QUESTION ↤ @galactia :: 👫 + our ship & i’ll give you 4 facts ↩
‘👫 (Zhong and Kaeya? ;D)’
i hate u ( affectionate ) for sending me this bc istg i TRIED to just write 4 snappy points but kaeya’s everything in response to zhongli is so juicy i kept writing whole posts on his psyche. i cut that shit & it’s still long as balls. this could have been about goddamn pancakes but i wanted to dig deeper & then it went too deep & now-
I.
kaeya goes out of his way to have possessions, tokens, or even parts of zhongli to physically entwine with him especially in his absence. the man’s generous in his affections, but the distance between them is generous too. whether it be braiding brown & gold into his own blue, voluntarily gifted- donning the fine robe zhongli had gifted him around christmas- piercing his ear a second & third time to wear cor lapis as close to inside him as is medically reasonable. yes he eyes zhongli’s personal possessions when he’s over. yes he leaves his own most intimate ones when he leaves.
II.
although kaeya’s never bothered to learn to love anything, he’s so enamoured that he will try his best to enjoy bamboo shoot soup. it’s just... he hates bamboo.
III.
frequently breaks his brain over what to gift zhongli, & is RomanticTM enough to feel like,,, maybe to a man who sees how feral & rotten hollow he is about the concept of ‘love’... perhaps his heart is finally a fitting gift? but then that seems stupid, so kaeya silently makes use of his inheritance & designs something achingly lovely. its weight & texture will be pleasant to the touch; the picture it makes a delight for the eyes. kaeya’s incredibly embarrassed about the wall of but i want my heart to be the gift he wants that continually gets in the way of any of these feats. just seems a bit rude to consider that burnt out husk of a heart an appropriate return gift.
IV.
zhongli’s endless dignity is the feathery lure to kaeya’s naughty, shameless cat behaviour. he gives exactly zero fucks about the man / god’s reputation--( since he’s fully convinced he can handle whatever's thrown at him anyway )--& will proceed to drag his own through the mud by smacking the man’s ass when he’s in the middle of a conversation, climbing him like a tree as they stroll through the market, snuggling up to him like a well-fed alley cat, & generally be affectionate in all the silly physical ways better suited to privacy. naturally, he has no intentions of actually crossing any real boundaries - just the ✨annoying✨ ones~~.
[ classified redacted essay under the cut. ]
I.
zhongli brings him a sense of belonging that outstrips the cold, horrible confidence that he’ll always be allowed back with his first ‘family’. a kindness that is fair, just, & lacks the blind willingness to sell himself cheap that diluc had had as a boy ( & possibly still has ). he brings an authority to the table that is more competent & dignified than varkas’, or all the current captains manning the ship in his wake combined. warmer than diluc by being less intense- & cold in warmth’s excess -than heat. more tempered-- hasn’t drawn a blade on him, fine, we’ll say it. he comes with a stability that kaeya has never experienced - a sort of security that no doubt comes in part from his faux endlessness. but it’s the way he goes about being a person that grants someone in his company all these boons. it’s a shockingly ravenous thing. hadn’t known it could be this luxurious- just being around someone. is it less shallow for being more personal? or can he not say he loves him deeply, hah.
kaeya, in comparison, is only beneficial to be around when under duress. his qualities are mainly feigned so as to be wanted around long enough to do some benefiting himself. he tries very hard not to do that around zhongli unless he’s been too much of a bore. depression is a buzz kill.
II.
there is a special way zhongli clicks into his trauma & unlocks it, lets it flow freely 'away’. because much of kaeya’s terror toward him is direct. it’s morax he’s afraid of; one of celestia’s approved archons, one of those who fought in the war ( even if kaeya has apparently, deliciously / gratefully, misunderstood how )... all his life kaeya has been terrified because he now lives within the ‘eye of the seven’ or whatever. it could not be confronted with absent barbatos... even if kaeya after a few years deliberately went to a statue of him to see if he would, perhaps, be punished for existing some more. but zhongli not only allowed him to face & process his terror, he... despite kaeya having definitely not earned himself any points with a gentle, self-deprecating tone - by being forgiving, by blaming himself, by making it easy for rex lapis... being charming, being nice, being manipulative-
he was allowed to hate & grieve & claw.
zhongli could have done actually anything. & continues to be able to. but does not. & not only is that true, but he makes a massive fucking point out of it. kaeya never asked to be healed. he wanted to be dealt with, to be done with it all. if he had to fear something he had no hope at all to control- kill me or yield to me. the dragon does neither,.. fairly, kindly, honestly. wouldn’t stand for false accusations but stood for anything else-
the best man he’s ever met is a god & he’s furious about it. or perhaps, perhaps he’s just- perhaps this is another kind of passion. ah, yes -- all that hatred ( & boy is there hatred ) transmuted into love. recontextualised by the mind yet, stemming from the same generous part of the brain.
it is the strongest emotion kaeya can give, & it is breathtaking to be proud to gift it to him.
my condemner, love me whole.
III.
kaeya is a little worried he’s just met a god so kind he’s... in a relationship founded on pity. but zhongli continues to be kind & open, & while it is impossible not to doubt - it is shockingly hard to have no reason to believe in something far too good to be true.
it’s just that kaeya trusts in vulnerability & cruelty, & the balance makes some sense. he could be strung along for a greater payoff later -- but kaeya has met one other impossibly kind man. even if they no longer speak. diluc made it possible at all for him to believe something like this, but that’s not anywhere near enough. zhongli-

of weddings and betrothals
kaeya x gn!reader
the best way to casually drop a bomb on someone is to pretend you never did so. in which you ramble how much you hate diluc, kaeya tries to soothe your animosity while laughing at you in the process, and diluc unknowingly pushes two people closer by being a dumb kid.
child!reader and child!kaeya, just two kids talking shit about diluc except only one is doing the shit-talking while the other is laughing
“I hate when you do that.”
“You hate a lot of things. Everything, in fact.”
“That’s not true.” You pause, seemingly thinking over your answer before coming to a decision. “I don’t hate you.”
Kaeya snorts, pressing his palm to his cheek. “That’s not very reassuring, you know.”
“It should be,” you say with finality, pretending to busy yourself with the stack of papers in front of you — or as busy as an eleven year old can look.
“Okay, well, answer me this. Who do you like more, me or Diluc?” He leans in, an eager smile to his lips.
You scoff in derision. Kaeya feels his smile turn brittle. Ah, of course, you too would…
“Of course I like you better, dummy! Diluc’s so loud and annoying. He only ever cares about getting your dad’s attention.”
His smile falters for a moment, giving way to surprise before it blooms into a wide grin, the kind that stretches his lips from cheek to cheek and makes his eyes crinkle like his dad’s. People say he looks nothing like his dad, but you think Kaeya’s got his smile.
“That’s mean. Diluc’s not that bad,” he retorts, trying to defend his brother.
“Sure, whatever. Don’t come crying to me when he starts whining about joining the Knights again.”
Kaeya laughs, knowing that particular obsession of Diluc’s and how much it grates on you whenever he so much as mentions it. “Why do you hate the Knights of Favonius so much?”
“I don’t hate them—”
“You do.”
“—I just think they have bad taste. Grandmaster Varka should just retire, senile old man that he is.”
“Are you still hung up on them rejecting your application?” He asks with no small amount of amusement and, if he’s being honest, surprise. Who knew you had it in you to hold a grudge that long? “You were like, what? Eight, seven years old? Of course they’d reject you.”
“Six,” you correct, glaring at him for even daring to laugh at you. “And it’s entirely feasible for a six year old to join the Knights.”
“I know the word you’re looking for: child labor.”
“Shut up, Kaeya!” You throw the stack of papers you’d been holding to his face, huffing when he just leans away and lets the papers fly away.
He pretends to look hurt by your actions. “Is that any way to treat your future brother-in-law?”
You scrunch your face and fake a gag so violently it nearly becomes a real one. “Gross. Don’t remind me.“
He drapes his arm over your shoulder, ruining your neatly made hair with his free hand and backing away with a laugh when you swat at him in irritation.
“C’mon, Diluc isn’t so bad.”
You roll your eyes. “He always looks like he’s about to poop whenever I come near him. He’s a weirdo.”
“You just scare him a little, which is understandable since you’re, well, you.”
“I’d prefer if my future husband doesn’t constantly shake in his pants whenever I get within 5 meters of him.”
“Just be a little nicer.”
“I don’t want to be nice. He can either man up and talk to me without stuttering or I’ll shove my foot up his ass.”
Kaeya laughs, loud and bright, the kind where he’s leaning over his stomach and gasping for air, eyes closed and utterly open and bare for the world to see. You so rarely catch him off guard like this. It’s nice, you think, having him be so carefree the way kids your age should be. He’s always far too distant.
“Are you done?” You ask in an unimpressed tone after his laughter dies down.
He takes a moment to fix his hair and straighten the imaginary wrinkles on his shirt. It’s a habit he developed from hanging out too much with Diluc, so you frown in distaste over it.
“I can’t wait to grow up just so I can see how much you’ll terrorize him. Ah, what a sight that would be.” He stares into the wall, a smirk on his lips that you know all too well.
“Hah, as if I’ll go through with this stupid betrothal. I’d much sooner run away to Liyue than marry that dingus,” you declare without an ounce of hesitation.
Kaeya sighs. “Your father would hunt you down and drag you kicking and screaming to the altar.”
“He can try! I’ll show him just how weak an old geezer’s bones can get!” You smash your fist into your palm, a loud smack echoing in the room.
He watches you do so with a fond look. He opens his mouth to make a comment, probably about the questionable ethicalities of a child breaking their parent’s bones, but you speak before he can.
“Besides,” you add as you turn to him, utterly oblivious to the effect your next words will have on him for the following years to come, “I’d much rather marry you.”
His jaw drops.
You continue saying something that goes in one ear and out the other, completely oblivious to the turmoil a few measly words have awakened in him. His palms are oddly sweaty, and he can almost hear the way his heart hammers inside his chest, threatening to burst from within.
Kaeya feels the way his heart drops with utter clarity when you turn to him with a mischievous look, and he realizes that his thoughts don’t immediately turn to what that smirk might mean for his sanity, but instead he thinks how nice you look when the light from the sun in the open windows hit the side of your face just right.
Oh no.
There’s a knock in the room. The distinct voice of your family’s butler sounds through the mahogany doors.
“Alright, please wait for me!” You holler at the top of your lungs, and Kaeya would normally grimace, making a passing comment about how you sounded just like a harpy just then, but instead he stares and wonders what you would sound like if you sung to him the way he heard you once when you thought no one was listening.
Oh no.
You turn to him—and is that disappointment in your eyes? “I gotta go home now. Don’t bother telling Diluc that I’m about to leave. I don’t wanna see his ugly face today.”
“Yeah, okay…”
A grin brightens your features again. “I’ll see you next week! Don’t forget to show me that turtle you mentioned earlier! Bye!”
You clamber down the chair and scamper off to the door, waving one last goodbye to him before shutting the door behind you, leaving him alone with his thoughts.
“This can’t be real,” he says to himself. Anyone looking in would see the sheer disbelief that looks out of place in such a young face.
He can’t possibly like you, his brother’s future spouse, can he?
An image of your drooling face when you once fell asleep during your lessons pops into his mind, and instead of laughing like he would have done before, he finds himself thinking how cute you looked back then.
Oh no, indeed.
#i kinda wanna make a continuation where they’re much older#it’ll be very angsty#why do i only seem to write kaeya being conflicted over his feelings for reader bc they have a connection with diluc#genshin x reader#genshin impact x reader#kaeya x reader#kaeya alberich x reader#gn reader

You know ur small predicament post?? you should make a reverse version where s/o is smaller!
A Smaller Predicament [Genshin Impact x Smol!Reader]
Characters: Scaramouche, Diluc, Kaeya, Childe, Xiao, Zhongli, Albedo
Synopsis: Not only did you shrink, you went pocket sized as well!
(A sequel to "A Small Predicament")
(A/n): Sorry for the long wait anon, and I kind of added a twist to the scenario for more diversity hahaha hope you don't mind >_<. And why is Childe the poster boy for this series lmao.
------------
Childe
When Childe walks in, he doesn't see you....until he looked down. He almost crunched you beneath his feet if it weren't for your constant flailing of arms and screeching voice. He blanks out for a hot minute as you clung onto his toes, doesn't dare to move an inch because he's so petrified (even though there's nothing to be afraid of??). But honestly if Childe moved right now, he might accidentally flail you to the side and that's the last thing he wants.
"WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU??" He screamed so loud it nearly blew you out of proportion. Seems like he's going to have alot of adjusting to do. Childe is a tall man (canonically the tallest) and he knows how impulsive he can get which is why he bought a handmade dollhouse from one of the Liyue merchants for you to stay in.
Though there's something about your tiny size that makes his heart flutter. With your face so small with a pair of eyes far too big, *clutches chest* "My oujo-chan is so cute" -Childe probably. He won't stop saying them over again and you were growing tired of his gushing reactions. He can't help it. He wants to spoil you rotten. You fit right onto the flat of his palms, the way you just snuggle up againts his finger and he just- swoons, might tear up (bruh).
Toys may be for kids but for Childe it was now his favourite pass time. While you navigate around the wooden dollhouse, he pitches in by moving around the furniture to make it easier for you. Offers to carry you through the rooms like a personal elevator. And please, please let him tuck you to bed. He has to pinch his fingers to grab the blanket. It's so adorable to him.
Loves it when you snuggle up against his collar. He thinks it would be the best area for you to be nearby him since the risk of you getting hit by anything (or him) by accident is very slim chance. Sometimes he pulls up his collar so that you're more comfortable and cradled within. He would have to avert his eyes down rather than turning his head if he wanted to look at you otherwise you'd be hit by his chin and that would hurt.
The poking sensation with you by his neck can bother him since he's veeeery tickilish there. Plus, Childe can get easily sweaty so have fun with that.
You have a feeling that he wasn't so pleased when you transformed back. You might be right. Actually, you are right. He secretly has an extra potion hidden somewhere...just in case.
Diluc
Mortified, his soul just left his body. To think things couldn't get any worse ever since he turned into a child to the point no one took him seriously, now you're literally the size of an apple. Oh god what if his bird suddenly swoops in and gobbles you right up? Or the wrath of the wind comes by, swirling you away towards a tornado. Needless to say, Diluc grew paranoid over your well-being ever since.
Due to your extremely small size, he will ensure that you are supervised by him (except at night where he has places to go). In otherwords, you're slipped into the inner pocket of his coat. It's super warm, you can fall asleep (and feel his heartbeat awww). Diluc doesn't like keeping you in places where people can see you, it would be too easy for outer things to access your tiny form (or maybe he secretly likes the feeling of you in his pocket.)
And he's such a gentleman about it. You noticed how careful he moves among his footsteps because he's worried that you might get dizzy. Diluc guards the pocket at close parameter, keeping an eye on things so he won't bump into them. As if he was treading on thin ice (you even suggested it was best to leave you home but he's too overprotective for his own good).
You're like his little assistant. Diluc does so much paperwork through out the day and although the act was small, he finds it endearing how you would help bring the papers back to it's rightful pile or pushing the ink bowl towards him. Or during his shifts at Angel's Share, crawling around the glass utensils and trying to find a specific wine beverage on his shelf. Of course that only happens when the shop is closed, how is he going to explain to his patrons that you shrank and now live in his pocket?
He dislikes the thought of you wandering too far. It's so easy for you to get lost especially when the mansion is so large.
At night you now sleep atop the fluff of the pillow. Diluc is a calm sleeper so he won't have to worry about hitting into you. However he radiates warmth so you just subconicously roll towards to his face. He usually wakes up with you sprawled over his nose. He can hardly breath (careful, he might just sneeze too).
This all happened because of the experiements you participated with Albedo. Diluc ensures that doesn't happen again. It will take some tencaious effort to convince him otherwise.
Scaramouche
Fuck this guy. He treats you like his new pet, a new toy (though you technically are one). He has this arrogant, smug and sadistic look as if he was a predator looking at his prey and grabs you by the collar before dangling you up in the air.
"Hmph, looks like the tables have turned," he says while toying with your state. You tell him he's just angry because he's short himself and mad that everyone else in the Fatui organization is taller than him. Scaramouche demon face activated. He's about to devour you. (Maybe you should keep your mouth shut this time. Honestly your relationship with him is pretty weird).
His hat is so fun to play with. You'd swing around like Tarzan using the strings that were hanging from it. His head was your playground now which annoys him to an enourmous extent because it makes him look ridiculous. Scaramouche will have a hard time catching you since you move around so much. Climb around him, especially the back of his neck. He'll start wheezing when you tickle him there.
The type to put you in a box but also the type to keep you on his shoulders. Being relied on makes him feel taller (lmfao). Scaramouche seemse to have developed a habit to poke your cheeks whenever he needed your attention and you bit him back once when he pushed too hard that you nearly fell off. Despite your size, your teeth still hurt. He threatens to put you back into the box if you don't behave and the outcome ends with a full out brawl as he tries to grab you again while you run around, pulling the strands of his hair to climb on top of his hat. (This is literally Tom and Jerry wtf.)
After transforming back, he outwardly admits his disappointmen. Scaramouche says it suits you better (when he actually meant that he highly prefers you small). You marked his words, keeping an extra vial for your own entertainment in the near future.
Xiao
Xiao was face-palming against his forehead real hard about this. For the love of Rex Lapis, what kind of trouble have you gotten yourself into this time? First it was the child incident, now you're the size of his finger? Good grief, looks like he will have to keep an eye on you from now on but at the same time he's scared to get too close, you are nothing but a tiny mortal in which he would have to double his effort to look after.
He lets you sit at the crown of his head rather than anywhere else. You insisted since it was easier to see everything at a nice distance (plus he's short so you won't have to worry about him bumping into door frames). You noticed that Xiao also has a little strand sticking out from the center (ahoge) and you sometimes grab onto it for stability. Turns out he's quite sensitive there and winces when you pull too hard.
For the remaining week as the antedote was being prepared, Xiao became extremely aggressive over your well-being, he looks as if he's ready to massacre everything in his way...which he did. Clears out the monsters off the path before going on daily strolls with you, you wouldn't have to lift a finger from now on. No one except for him is allowed to hold you unless they're a trustworthy person. You could feel his sharp eyes glued on you like a hawk when walking into the grasp of Zhongli's hand.
You once accidentally tripped into his almond tofu when he wasn't looking and he almost ate you. Turns out being small made his job as your gaurdian ten times harder (especially when you're the clumsy type). If you were to fall off the table, he would have to catch you right? Xiao often bumps into furnitures in the process...ouch!
He's very soft. It's all over his forehead, his mouth, his eyes. When he looks at you, his tense eatures melted away and there's an invisible fondness over them as he cradles you in his palm. The way you snuggle in them is lke the most precious thing in the world.
When you turn back, there's a wave of relief. He was really stressed out you know?
Zhongli
His first thought is to get you as far as he can from the Funeral Parlour before Hu Tao finds you. Who knows what that child might have in mind. Zhongli takes one of his empty tea pots and urges you to go inside, or carries a tea cup with you in it, he likes placing you on objects while carrying you around.
Zhongli realizes that you can no longer use the household items like before so he has to remake them to your standards- especially when he realized he doesn't have the mora to buy you a dollhouse. He improvises. Takes a handkerchief to make your blanket, his cups for your bathtub, Zhongli had to cut the foot into byte-sized too. But in terms of clothes, well he had to make them as well. Living thousands of years would mean he would have lot of experience. Sewing was one of them luckily. But that would mean he has to take your measurements as well. In the end, most of the things he made were dresses since they were alot easier.
You like to sneak in between his shirt and his vest tucked behind the coat he wears. Unfortunately Zhongli doesn't seem to have visible pockets (most likely the reason why he doesn't carry mora either), though if you don't hold on tight you might just slip down his vest and right to his stomach. It makes him chuckle when that happens even if the amount of effort to get you out took more than he thought since his attire is quite complicated to put on. If you really want to climb on him, he'll find a seperate pouch (but realizes it won't be a good idea when there's alot of pick-pocketers in Liyue streets).
All of a sudden he reads you bedtime stories. It's some sort of inner instinct that tells him he's taking care of a child now (he's right though). You realized that his voice was equivalent to a thunder's roar due to size difference. He would have to whisper now.
It will always be part of his precious memories when you turned pocket-sized. Zhongli still keeps the clothing he made somewhere in his closets too.
Kaeya
Amused by this eventful situation. Absolutely thrilled! He's not evil like Scaramouche but this new version of his s/o is both adorable and fun at the same time. You're so easy to tickle, just one poke using his finger against your hips makes you yelp. Sometimes he twirls your hair or taps your forehead gently despite your protest, he's so handsy like always in an affectionate yet annoying way.
Kaeya picks you up and places you among the fluffy comfort of his feathery scarf. You sneezed, the last time he cleaned it was before he went on a mission with the knights. Though you have to admit, it's the best feeling in the world. It's so soft you might sink deeper into the fabric. He likes to put you in places where he can talk to you easily, sometimes on the table while he downs on his wine. Normally you have to take the bottle away before it gets too much, now you have to push it away which he finds very entertaining at your futile attempts.
"Don't you have anything better to do?" you tell him. Since you turned byte-sized, he can't seem to stop playing around. Takes his two fingers and pretends they're legs walking across the surface. You would turn around and he halts, Kaeya sends you his signature grin. When he promises that he wouldn't do anything funny, you would let him hold you. Since hugs are out of the equation, Kaeya gives you his finger instead to wrap your arms around. He can't get enough seeing you like this, things he couldn't do when you were normal-sized. he enjoys your reactions way too much.
His favourite pass time is helping you brush your hair because the hairbursh is too big for you to handle. Kaeya ensure he's handling things delicately but he would love to help style it for you as well. Pretty please? At this point one request turns to another because he's having way too much fun. But it couldn't be helped since you would need his assistance in almost everything so there's really no escaping.
You were so happy when things were normal again but Kaeya would bring this up again during your conversations (how next time he would like to put you in his drinks while you're wearing a swim suit).
Albedo
Legit blurted out if he could put you on a hamster wheel.
What about trying out the little maze he just made?
Or participating in a race against slimes of different elements?
No? Okay, then he'll just turn you back.
Albedo isn't going deal with this as along as he can help it (especially when he remembers what Klee did to him when he turned small.)

Diluc x Fem!Reader
A/N: For my first post I wanted to write about my amazing Diluc (yes I'm a diluc simp). Bold and indented sentences are readers/characters thoughts. Enjoy!
Warnings: none (let me know if there are)
Characters: Diluc, Ayato and a brief mention of Ayaka
After you told your parents about your boyfriend, Diluc, they instantly wanted to meet him. You came from a mighty clan in Inazuma that was part of the Yashiro Commission. That's why your parents wanted you to marry someone powerful as well. Specifically, Kamisato Ayato. However you didn't find him interesting. Sure he was handsome, rich, tall blah blah blah but you couldn't see anything in him that made you think damn, I wanna marry this dude.
You fled off to Mondstadt just for a little vacation. Who knew that you'd find your true love in a local yet very famous tavern there. He had long red hair, a sharp jawline, ruby red eyes, a tall and lean yet muscular body. You purposely ordered multiple non-alcoholic drinks just so you could stay there longer but not get drunk. You were embarrassing when drunk.
Fast forward and here you are in his house, trying out a dress to wear to your parents house. "Do I look okay?" You ask Diluc coming out of your shared bedroom, showing him your dress. "You look fantastic, love. Real question is, do I look okay? I want to give your parents a good impression of me."
You looked him up and down, and my my was he handsome. You made him wear a traditional Inazuman outfit that had some minor changes to make it look more modern, it also had your clans signature colors. "You look great!"
Once you two had arrived at Inazuma, Thoma welcomed the both of you with his warm smile. "Hello my lady! And hello also to her uhhmm, humble guest." Thoma didn't exactly know who Diluc was. "I'm her boyfriend." Diluc said sternly.
Thoma escorted you and Diluc to the Komore Teahouse. You two walked into the room and you were surprised to see Ayaka and Ayato seated on the opposite side of the table where your parents were seated. "Why is Ayato here?" You asked. "That's no way to treat your guests Y/N. Are we not allowed to see you and your acquaintance?" Ayato replied. You were scared Ayato might cause trouble. Specifically with Diluc. He's been trying to win you over for you years now and he only saw you getting a boyfriend not as a lose, but as a challenge.
The night went smoothly and surprisingly, your parents really liked Diluc. Ayato did however throw some mean glares at Diluc and some questions like "Do you even know Inazuman culture?". Diluc never payed attention to those however, he just wanted to please you and your parents. Ayaka also loved him, she thought that he was a gentleman and a great lover for you.
Once you and Diluc got home you apologized to him. "What for? I had a great time." He said with a soft smile on his face. "For Ayato, I know you probably got even just a bit annoyed. He's been trying to win me over but I never payed attention to him." Diluc shook his head and kissed your forehead. "He doesn't matter to me, as long as your happy with me."

ACCIDENTAL KISSES
pairings: diluc, childe, & kaeya x gn!reader
summary: the kiss was on accident, you swear it!
warnings/content: pure fluff!!
a/n: for quill's cute fluffvembr <3 @starglitterz
-> diluc
the power outage at dawn winery wasn't unexpected. the storm outside had grown worse over only a few couple of hours and all of mondstadt was strictly advised to stay indoors. the wind was howling loudly- banging on the windows and the rain pour was heavier than it's been all year, overflowing all of the rivers.
the old building that was dawn winery wasn't exactly built to withstand such extreme weather, but she was holding in there real tight. "master diluc?" your voice carried through the almost empty winery. but there was no response besides the echoing of your own words. where on earth could he be?
it was pitch dark, you couldn't see a thing. but just because one of your senses wasn't liable, doesn't mean your can't use your others! taking baby steps around, you feel out for the wall. you bumped into what you think was a table, and hit your head on what was possibly a lamp, but you finally found your hands on something soft. "what on earth?" you whisper to yourself. before you could take another step, you fell straight forward, onto the mysterious fluffy thing that went down right with you.
your lips were met with another pair, unfamiliar to you. and suddenly the situation hit you. you kissed master diluc on the floor. quickly, you move off of him. "m-master diluc?" your voice was shyer than you had expected. "it's me, y/n. i had come here to find some candles, i'm sure you didn't find them yet?" diluc was almost thankful to barbatos for this storm. the darkness was keeping his absolute flustered state a complete secret to you. "o-oh, no not yet. let's look for them together?"
the suggestion was sweet, and of course diluc accepted. "here, take ahold of my hand. let's try and not to bump into anything else."
more below the cut!
-> childe
anyone who had the blessing of two eyes could see that the both of you were deeply and madly in love. well, except you and childe of course. no matter how many dating rumors the two of you turn down, no one seems to believe you.
and why should they? with the way childe gazes at you with every chance and the way you cling onto him like he'll disappear, there's just no way there isn't something going on. so childe kissing you in front of the town square wasn't exactly helping the rumors.
but he couldn't help himself, he was just so excited. "y/n, i did it! you are now looking at a man who has mastered every weapon you could ever lay your eyes upon." when your eyes meet childe's, you can see the pure form of happiness; even if it is about weapons.
"that's wonderful, ajax! i'm proud so proud of you!" while you were pulling childe in for a hug, he had other plans. childe swooped down and took ahold of your wrist, pulling your body to his. he pushed his lips on yours without a second thought.
childe was kissing you. and before you got the chance to do anything else, childe pulled away in haste. "i have to go, see you later!" and just like that, he ran away into the morning fog.
what the hell just happened? you don't have the answer to that, but what you do know is that you liked it more than you should've. and some part of you wants it to happen again.
-
later that afternoon, childe realizes he kissed you. you who he's not asked out yet and was probably now terrified of him.
the ginger proceed to drink away his idiocy at a local bar.
-> kaeya
with kaeya's love language being physical touch, it wasn't a surprise when kaeya were to let his arm hang around your shoulders, or even have his chin resting on top of your head.
but today, you noticed your friend being a little extra clingy today. "don't you have anyone else to pester? i have to get all of this turned in by this evening." you sigh, not sparing a glance at the pouting man. "but you're my favorite person to annoy." his whining advances were once again ignored.
"my lovely y/n, the light of my life, the stars of my darkest nights, the–"
"that's enough, kae." you let out a huff, continuing to scribble down notes with a bit more pace to it. kaeya rolls his eyes, finally accepting his defeat. "alright alright, i'll let you get to it. i'll be at the angels share." kaeya snuck up a little closer to you, to place a farewell kiss to your cheek before departing.
as he was leaning in, your head seemed to turn as well. "oh one more th-" smooch.
instead of his lips leaving a kiss on your cheek, kaeya's lips were now pressed against your very own. for a slight moment, neither of you moved. but after finally snapping into your senses, you pull away. it didn't take long for your face to turn a deep shade of crimson. "u-uh, never mind. see you later." your words were sharp.
kaeya himself was caught in a flurry. he almost forgot english for a second. "right, sure." without wasting more time, kaeya stepped out of your office. did that really just happen? did he cross any boundaries?
he didn't want to admit it, but he enjoyed the kiss. you on the other hand were panicking, afraid kaeya might never speak to you again.
the next day, the calvary captain did more than just speak to you.

Rumors P2
(Whenever I wrote for genshin for a reader the default vision I go to is Dendro. If you want me to change it, majority vote wins.)
You woke up the next day still in Diluc’s arms. Usually he would be gone by now. You tried to get up but his grip was strong.
“Where do you think you’re going?” God his morning voice was enough to give you energy for a week. Diluc rolled until he was on top of you and started kissing your neck in all the right places.
Your hands intertwined with his hair as he continues to kiss you.
*Knock Knock Knock*
You both pulled away from each other.
“Master Diluc, My lady. It's time to get up, breakfast is downstairs and you have a meeting in mondstat, Master Diluc.” It was Adelinde.
“Thank you, Adelinde.” Diluc started, “We’ll be down in a minute.” He gave you one last kiss on the lips before getting up. He looked so grumpy. It was cute.
Sitting up you recount the events that happened a few hours ago. For some reason this was worse than the rumors. Your fear for rumors comes and goes but this rumors fear stayed. It was like a child who sees something on TV and thinks it's real.
“Hey Diluc, how long will you be in Mondstat?”
“Not long. Why?”
“Just asking”
—-------------
During breakfast you acted the way you would normally, ignoring the feeling that spread through your body whenever Adelinde was near.
"I'll be setting off. See you when I get back Y/n." Diluc walked over to you a kissed you on the cheek as he heading out.
You could only watch him go.
--------
Most of the day was spent out of the manor near the grapes. You loved sitting on the ground doing (any hobbies) while occasionally eating grapes.
Sitting there completely wrapped in what you were doing you were unaware of the maid who kept a close eye on you until Moco and Hillie came up to you.
"My lady, would you mind helping us gather mushrooms, we seemed to have missed counted when we were out earlier." You were about to answer when you were interrupted by someone on the other side of you.
"Why not ask me. Seeing as you miscounted the first time, having some supervision will do you good." Adelinde had her arms crossed not even trying to hide her annoyed tone at the 2.
"We have to go deep in the forest ms. Adelinde. My lady has her vision if something goes wrong." Moco lied. Diluc hired maids that can take care of themselves in dangerous situations even without a vision.
You guess Adelinde didn't know this cause she let you go.
---------
In the forest the 3 if you were picking mushrooms when Hillie decided to break the silence.
"My lady, she was staring at you. Did you do something to Adelinde." She was clearly worried and so was Moco.
"Not that I know of. Aside from that thing last night." You assumed Hillie knew what happened cause her and Moco are always together. She knew.
"Adelinde was acting weird this morning. Before she woke you and master Diluc she was talking to herself in the corner and making weird hand gesters-" Moco cut Hillie off dropping the basket of mushrooms and grabbing you hands "little knocks on the walls. I think she heard us my lady cause she was watching me too."
You pulled her into a hug. She had every right to be freaked out, especially when she lived with the it for years.
"It's probably just the rumors getting to you. You worked with Adelinde for years and nothing happened before, right? Everything will be fine." It felt that what you were saying was more for you than for Moco.
The feeling of someone watching you never left, even in the forest.

Random Imagines [Genshin Impact - boys]
[ girl edition ]
opening the door leading to your shared room, aether’s eyes landed on your figure which is curled up in a ball at the corner of the dark room. your broken sob echoes through the room making his heart break a bit at the painful sound. he carefully closed the door behind him as he made his way to you and stopped only a meter away from you, minding your privacy. he opens his arms out as he gives you a sad reassuring smile.
noticing that you fell asleep while waiting for him to finish, albedo removes his jacket and drapes it over your sleeping figure. smiling gently, he placed a kiss on top of your head as he continued to work while looking over your figure every once in a while with a soft smile visible every time. glaring at anyone who dares to make a noise to not disturb your state, even going as far as to throw an object on kaeya’s head when he suddenly barged into the room.
bennett carefully places a bandaid over your wound after disinfecting it with the alcohol he brought for emergency while adventuring. after placing the bandaid, he gave you a smile and exclaimed that he’s done patching you up. his eyes travelled back to your now-covered wound on top of your hand, leaning down and gingerly pressing a soft kiss on top, hoping for the pain to go away.
noticing how you nervously played with your hands, chongyun quickly stepped in and excused you from the stranger that was making you uncomfortable. holding your hand gently as he guided you to the outskirts of liyue harbor to calm you, he turned to you and placed his other hand on your cheek while staring at you. quickly asking “are you okay?” “were you hurt?” and so on. only letting go of your cheek when he deems that you were unharmed, but he doesn’t let go of your hand.
pulling your sleeping figure close to him, dainsleif took a deep breath to calm himself, inhaling your comforting scent to calm his beating heart. he woke up from a nightmare again, trying to calm his shaking nerves he continues to hold you, pulling you even closer to make sure that his nightmare isn’t real. you were here with him, sleeping contentedly beside him, innocent from all the suffering he dealt with. he closes his eyes but doesn’t fall asleep, having you in his arms is enough.
wrapping his arm around your waist to pull you closer, diluc smiled softly at your surprised face at the sudden action. gazing in your eyes intently with adoration, his eyes briefly look down at your lips before locking eyes with you once more. lifting his hand up to softly rub your lips before leaning and locking lips with yours, pulling you even closer and cupping your cheek with his other hand.
arriving at the dead of night. kaeya quietly closes the door to not disturb the inhabitants of the dark house. he just finished the paperwork left for him from the acting grandmaster, and he was tired as hell. wanting to be in bed, cuddled with his lover, his eyes noticed someone on the couch. curious, he carefully navigates his way there, his hand twitching to ready his blade when his eyes land on the sleeping figure of his lover. sighing in relief, he softly chuckles at your action, you must’ve waited for him the entire night. he quickly picks you up and goes to the bedroom to properly snuggle with you.
taking a deep breath, kazuha goes down on one knee and looks up at you expectantly with a nervous yet excited smile on his face. from behind his back, he shows you a ring made out of the pearl you and him found one day at the beach. it was beautifully carved in a silver band, simple and straight-to-the-point, just like him. “would you do the honor of being my spouse?” he silently hopes you say yes. he might not have much to offer, having a wanted print all over his identity, but he hopes he can build a future where you two can live peacefully.
chasing after you with high speed, razor expertly runs through the wolvendom forest to chase you down. hearing your laughter ringing through the dense forest, his heart couldn’t help but pound at the sound, making him smile as well. after a while of trying to catch you, he finally tackled you to the ground, making sure his hand is under your head to not cause a concussion. landing on a rather soft grass patch, you continued to giggle as you stare at your boyfriend from below. he couldn’t help but nuzzle his face in your neck, smiling while inhaling your sweet scent despite how sweaty you two are.
scaramouche groaned when he felt you shifting from his sleep, quickly wrapping his arms around you before you could get out of the shared bed. he opened his eyes a bit to peek at you before snuggling his face at the back of your neck. mumbling out “stay” in a sleepy voice as he cuddles you from behind. wanting to sleep more with you until you two are needed, he lets out a rare soft smile as he drifts off to sleep once more.
tartaglia smirking as he appeared beside you, making you jump a bit, and said a pick-up line, “are you a parking ticket? because you’ve got fine written all over you.” watching your face twisted to either a flustered or annoyed look made him laugh, always amused at your reaction either way. he made it his personal mission to pester you with pick-up lines until you accepted his proposal of a date.
venti teaching you some german words to better fit in the city, laughing whenever you mess up your pronunciation or words. patiently teaching you the common conversation sentences, he would clap whenever you correctly pronounce the statement or word. deciding to be a little sly, he taught you “ich liebe dich” but didn’t say what it meant. when you manage to say it correctly, you notice that he has a faint pink dust on his cheeks as he smiles brightly at you. “ich liebe dich auch” he mumbles.
coming home after being done with your work, you noticed that your child’s room is lit from the hallway, the door wide open. taking a peek inside, your heart swells in delight at the sight. xiao was sleeping peacefully with your son on top of his chest, the book forgotten by his side as the two slept. chuckling at how identical your son and your husband is, you quietly step inside the room and put a blanket over the two. the yaksha, his guard forever up, opened his eyes groggily and when it landed on you, he smiled peacefully and mumbles out “welcome home”.
xingqiu kissing the scars scattered through your body, telling you how much he loves it every time he kisses each one. every flaw you despised on your body, every scar you hated seeing, every mark, he loves it all. his heart broke when he encountered you looking at your body through the glass with sadness. you're perfect, so perfect for him. placing a kiss on your lips as the finale,he smiles gently at you while rubbing his thumbs over your cheeks and leaning his forehead against yours. no matter what you look like, he’ll love you in every shape and form.
zhongli comes home after a stressful day dealing a hard child (hu tao) and some rude customers, after opening the door, his nostrils hit something delicious. he called out for you after removing his coat and outer layers of his clothes, hearing your voice coming from the kitchen. quickly navigating his way to the kitchen, he sees you cooking for dinner as you greet him cheerfully. having a desire to just be close to you, he hugged you from behind and laid his head on your shoulder. being near you makes him unwind from the rough day and he lets out an unconscious smile.

Hello! I just discovered your blog and I really love the way you write 💕
If it's not too much trouble, could you write genshin men being real? Like in our world, and reacting to reader being a genshin character? And coming to their world? As a bullet headcanon? For Diluc, zhongli, kaeya, childe, albedo and xiao if it's okay with you ^^' it can be any one of these guys ♡
Also do take care if yourself please ^^ sleep well and stay hydrated! 💖
summary: diluc, zhongli, kaeya, childe, albedo, xiao + reader as a genshin character
warnings: modern au, slightly crack, they're in love with you but you're a genshin character
word count: 2.3k
author's note: awh, thank you for your kindness, anon! i hope these fulfill exactly what you wanted, but feel free to send it in again if not. these were fun to write, i hope they're enjoyable, and the Baker would be fine with doing a possible part 2! i also extend the reminder of good health to you as well 🤍
Diluc wasn't much of a gamer, not by a longshot. He didn't really have any time to waste fooling around with stupid RPGs and, frankly, he didn't really care either. Too bad Kaeya didn't share the same sentiment.
Diluc would always remain annoyed at the way his brother was the one who got him to finally start playing Genshin, not wanting to admit he caved to his brother's insistent nagging.
As much as he didn't want to admit it, however, your character quickly caught his attention. You were fun to play as, he had to admit, and he had some interest in where the story was going to go with you.
He wasn't much for playing games, but even he had to admit that coming home from work and winding down with a little bit of gaming was relaxing after all, just like Kaeya had claimed. Especially when playing as your character.
Diluc was a relatively early game player. He was there before you ever got a banner, knowing you when you were just a story character. That meant, however, that he was ready.
He had more than enough money to whale for you. Diluc didn't care much about that kind of stuff usually, but you were the exception, and he wanted your character more than any other one in-game. He didn't care too much about unlocking your constellations, just wanting to get you once. He wasn't that serious of a player to care about builds or weapons, but he wouldn't be happy while playing until he could see your face light up his team.
He'd never admit to caring so deeply about a video game character, not in a million years, but he did. He was completely smitten with you, so, eventually, he did end up caving and spending a little more than he planned to build you properly. It was a guilty pleasure, but your character made him so happy he couldn't help it, and he certainly had enough money.
Xiao showed him the game. Zhongli got interested in it pretty fast, but not for the same reasons most do. He appreciated the cooking aspect as well as trying to hunt down everything to upgrade the archon statues. At first, he didn't really care that much for the characters or story.
That changed when you appeared.
Zhongli never really had a lot of primogems stocked up. He's the type to pull almost every single time he gets at least 160 primos, so he wasn't ready for your banner when it came out.
He did finally start composing himself a little when your banner announcement came out. He began doing everything in his power to scrape up as many gems as possible, saving them for once in his life. He was bound and determined to get you, you know!
He honestly wasn't sure if he wanted to try spending real money, however. Zhongli realizes that, as attached to your character as he may have been, you were still, sadly, comprised of pixels, and dumping his already shallow wallet out for said pixels may not be the smartest decision he could make. He decided to first try his luck and see how he fared.
As always, he made out like a bandit. Not only did Zhongli get you in his first ten pull, but he also got the weapon recommended for you. What luck! For the rest of the day, he had a soft, pleased smile etched deeply on his handsome features.
Zhongli did his best building you, he really did. He gave you the best artifacts he could and was sure to level up all of your skills, but that wasn't really his main focus. Of course, you were given a special spot on his team, but he wasn't all that concerned with the idea of damage and numbers.
Really, he was just happy to have you.
Cooking with you was a simple pleasure, not one he could often indulge in. It was hard to get enough ingredients, but the effort was worth it.
The crowning jewel of having you in his account, however, was the ability to take such gorgeous photos with you. Every click of the in-game camera was taken with loving precision, insistent on capturing your charm in every way he could. Sometimes he would share them online and, when he did caption them, they were adorned with sweetly written words.
You were also given a spot inside of his favorite room in his teapot. You should be honored, really.
Did he ever want you. Yes, he wanted you for you, of course, but did he ever want to show off for having you as much as possible.
Kaeya had every intent to brag about getting you in whatever way possible. Screenshots posted to Twitter, instantly making you his in-game icon, unlocking your namecard as fast as possible, anything and everything. He's an insufferable person to play with.
His luck tried to work against him, but nothing could stop Kaeya when he set his mind to a task. Ten roll after ten roll, he kept not pulling you, and he was this close to dropping real money for you. Thankfully, the screen lit up with a brilliant gold before it came to that.
If it had been some other five-star and not you, Kaeya might have begun his villain arc right then.
You were built instantly, decked out with only the best artifacts. He wanted those damage number screenshots, you know! They always went viral with people begging him for his builds.
His placement of you in his hero showcase seemed like nothing more than a flex, a shallow show of his gacha might, but you really did have a spot on his team instantly. No, you had a spot waiting for you before you even were released, he wanted you that badly.
He was truly happy to have you. When running around, even if you didn't have the most practical passive for adventuring, he almost always played as you. Can you really blame him? If he was the video game character and you the player, he was sure you'd do the same.
That doesn't mean he didn't brag to every other player he knew, however. Diluc was this close to clocking him in the last few hours before your release as Kaeya wouldn't shut up about how certain he was he'd get you. It got worse when he finally had you.
Kaeya loved playing co-op the second he got you, running around in circles to show off to whatever poor player accepted his request before ditching only seconds later. He was laughing like a madman, gleeful at the slight bit of chaos and uproar he could create.
When night finally fell, however, and it was just him playing the game for a moment before heading off to bed, he felt himself smile softly at the thought that he really, truly had you.
Childe may not have the same sized fortune as Diluc, but he was ready to drop even more money to get you. He wanted you so badly!
Childe didn't really keep up with banner announcements that much, they didn't really matter to him. He was fine with whaling anyway, not really caring how unhealthy that may be. When he got news of you from Zhongli, however, it was all his posts seemed to be about. Counting down for you, trying to figure out the best gear to give you pre-release, everything.
Never really one for trying to get big numbers, he only wanted to try for once if it was for you. That doesn't mean he doesn't accidentally get massive numbers anyway, though. Sometimes they're bigger than even Kaeya's.
You were c6'd instantly, to Childe's delight. It was what you deserved, you know, and he was happy to drop a small fortune on a jpeg.
Sometimes, he'd play with his younger siblings. They'd often crowd around his desk, pushing each other while trying to take the seat on his lap for the best view. He was starting to regret not getting a PlayStation... at least the screen would have been bigger and they could all spread out more around the TV....
When he got you, his siblings cheered too. They all wanted to see you, gawking at your design and the beautiful effects accompanying your attacks. You were such a cool looking unit! They wanted to try playing with you too! To Childe's chagrin, to prevent a tantrum, he had to give in and give his siblings a turn running around and beating up hilichurls (as best as they could).
When he was finally able to just simply revel in his victory against RNG, he was sure to brag about it. Not as much as others, of course, but enough to still be a nuisance.
A lesser-seen, never talked about, more gentle side, however, was his Teapot Realm. He immediately bought the sets that would play into your affection, building them instantly and rearranging the entire layout around your tastes. He made sure a cooking station was nearby as well, so he could stand next to you while making something. Tender and domestic, just the way he liked it.
Oh, was he ever ready. Albedo was one of many who speculated your release before it was ever announced, and he was already thinking up the possibilities of what you could be.
Deciding to cut out the middleman, however, and eliminate anything that could go wrong, he simply farmed for everything. No one understood how he did it.
When you were, finally, officially announced, Albedo immediately began polishing his ideas for you, writing them down in a notebook that stayed at his gaming station. He was prepared for you, that much was certain.
Albedo wouldn't whale. No, he knew better than dipping his toes into a possible gambling addiction, choosing to trust his luck. Jean agreed that was a smart decision, while everyone else teasingly remarked that he would never get you. Klee was still cheering for him, though!
Of course he got you. There was no struggle about it. It wasn't his first ten pull, but his second. He also pulled the new featured four star beside you, but he wasn't nearly as concerned with that.
He set out to building you, content with the things he had worked so hard for. You were built to perfectly accentuate your kit, making you an incredible powerhouse, whether you were meant to be or not.
Similar to Zhongli, Albedo wasn't as concerned with battling. Yes, he wanted to see what he could do with you and how strong he could build you, but that wasn't his main focus. More of a side project, honestly. He enjoyed taking photos with you as well, though not to post.
You adorned all of his sketchbooks. You had before ever coming out, but the frequency of his doodles increased exponentially with your arrival. How could he be blamed?
You were a new source of inspiration, a well from which his creativity could spring forth. He was grateful for that, often using you as a warm-up sketch before actually setting out to draw something. No matter how much he tried to keep them simple, however, his drawings of you always ended up being near masterpieces. You gave him a bit too much creativity, it seems.
Albedo was never concerned with games like this much. He played it because he had heard about it from Kaeya and never expected to get so attached to you. He didn't regret it, however, as the game was a nice destresser after work, and seeing you on his screen always brought a hint of life into his teal eyes and inspiration into his artwork.
Xiao didn't have time for stupid games!
Those were his famous last words. He caved rather quickly, downloading it solely out of boredom (so he claimed). He ended up liking it so much that he recommended it to Zhongli.
Xiao was downbad for you almost immediately. Your character was so interesting, it really wasn't something he could help! Venti would tease him anyway. You made him feel so happy, though! Whenever Xiao saw you on screen, standing amongst the rest of the characters, he felt a spark of happiness.
He was extremely excited for you come release time. Xiao was so excited he became slightly sloppy, pulling for you without even thinking if you'd work with his team composition or how he would ever build you. Normally, he was a pretty composed player who did pretty well against bosses and could be considered "good" at building, but not this time.
Finally, he got you. He was so happy he, uncharacteristically, rocketed out of his gaming chair and punched the air. Nothing could beat this kind of euphoria!
You were immediately placed into the number one spot, marking Xiao as a you-main instantly. He didn't feel the need to broadcast it, fighting an internal battle as to if he should put you as his icon or not. He refrained for a little bit, eventually caving and setting it as you, but that was it. His builds were always private so, when he did eventually add you to his showcase, no one else could see how he decked you out. And, oh boy, were you ever decked out.
He tends to fall slightly above casual when playing, being pretty serious about domain and artifact farming, but that was amped up to one hundred when dealing with you. Honestly, however, he was really just happy to run around as you when waiting for his resin to refill.
Xiao would never speak of this, but his favorite part wasn't using you in battle. Really, despite his relative skill with it, he, like several others, didn't care about the fighting aspect much. He wanted to do well when using you, of course, but his real favorite part was picking flowers.
There was nothing like strolling up Starsnatch Cliff with you, gingerly picking each and every single cecilia in sight. It was tender, peaceful. Just what he liked. Playing with you in those moments was the real highlight for him, way more important than any damage ever could be.
