Note
Hibari was a little too embarrassed to give this gift in person, especially to an Emperor, but she had left a little note on the captain's desk - the gift resting atop it. The gift? A bracelet woven with threads of red, white and black, pink and yellow, clearly meant to represent each member of their alliance. The note reads:
'To Captain Shanks,
It might be a little silly of me, but I hope you appreciate this. I just wanted to give everyone something to remember our little alliance by when it's all over. You don't have to wear it! You don't even have to keep it! But I wanted to make sure you got one too.
Happy holidays!
Commander Hibari ❀'

Upon entering his quarters he didn't notice anything amiss. It was only when he placed his cloak over the chair by the desk that his gaze fell upon the bracelet and the little note. Curiously he picks the note up first, a smile forming on his face as he reads through it. It certainly was quiet the thoughtful gift. Something that would hold meaning for them, but nobody outside of their alliance would figure out what it meant.
He loosened Gryphon from his sash, placing the sword onto the desk. Picking up the bracelet he tied it around the handle, right next to the kerchief he had taken with him from Makino the last time he had visited her.
The redhead made a mental note to thank Hibari for the gift as soon as he would see her the next time.

transcript under the cut!
Raven: Phil, I remember on AmazingPhil, you did so many like really great like inventive videos. [Phil: Yes.] I feel like, you know, the Interactive Christmas Adventure. One of my favourite videos was “The Basket” growing up [Phil: Oh my gosh.] and I'm such a pretentious film person now. I used to show it to people and be like, oh, you just don't get it. Like if they were...
Dan: We talk about that. We call it Phil's arthouse era and how pioneering he was.
Like the world is too corporate now. They wouldn't get it. Phil back then, he was a real artiste.
Phil: I should funnel some of that creativity into something that I could make my own Megalopolis.
Dan: Exactly like Megalopolis.
Raven: So I was going to say, are you interested in kind of exploring any different forms of media or maybe even writing a book like Dan did?
Phil: I'd love to. I think this gaming channel return and tour has been such a whirlwind. I need a little bit of time to be like, what am I doing as well? But-
Dan: Oh, like we all had plans for life and then it was like, I guess we're doing this Dan and Phil tour because people are demanding it with pitchforks. So here we are.
Phil: But yeah, I'd love to use some Phil creativity juice into something, I'm just not sure-
Dan: When we uploaded our Dan and Phil crafts video, everyone was like, unironically, we need the A24 Dan and Phil horror movie now.
Phil: Yeah.
Raven: Yes!
Dan: So I'm like, calm down, people. You don't want to be manifesting stuff you'll regret later. You're going to fuck around and find out.
Raven: Well, Phil, what are some of your like goals, I guess, in this coming back?
Phil: Oh my gosh. My goals. I mean, I think my goals are to do things that I enjoy doing. So I was a bit of a yes-man back in the day, like 10 years ago. I'd be like: "Yeah, I'll do that. Yeah, I'll do that."

Some what of a link to this little ficlet.
The Curse of twins.
Damian didn't know where or when his Grandfather had heard of this specific variation of the curse. But it didn't matter.
He did not need two heirs, so the result would have remained the same regardless.
It went like this:
"Two halves of the same whole, one always limiting the other, only when one half is removed can the other become whole."
Damian, at the time, did not know exactly what it had meant.
But the result was that he had to slay his own brother, or his brother to slay him, for the one remaining to become 'whole.'
Damian despised it. Despised how after he had slain his brother it had worked.
He did not need to worry about or fret over his younger sibling, he had a new drive to gain more and more strength, more efficiency within the League's teachings because of the fact he was not strong enough.
In the end, he had become, 'whole.'
Damian did not regret killing his brother, no. He regretted that he was not strong enough to not have to, not strong enough to look the 'curse' in its face and declared that he need not be whole, that he was strong enough to remain 'half.'
In an odd twist of fate, it worked in his brother's favor as well.
His brother returned from death, yet not from the League's methods. As a ghost, stronger than he was before, with powers granted to him from his status of the dead.
He, too, had become 'whole.'
Was Damian have meant to slay his brother?
Was this both of their fates? Wherein Danny had to die, and Damian live?
Was Damian never supposed to be strong enough to protect his brother in life, and only able to do so in death?
Could Damian never, no matter the circumstances, stop the two of them from becoming 'whole?'
If, granted a second chance, would everything still remain the same?
He knew the answer.
Yes.
Danny was too soft, too kind, too emotional, too childlike to survive what the League had and would have continued to demand of him.
If Damian had not killed him then, then he would have died later to other means.
At least, with the duel ending in Damian's favor, he could ensure Danny be granted a swift, peaceful and merciful end.
Anything else, Damian would be unsure.
So yes, if granted a second chance, Damian would kill him again.
And again.
And again.
As much as he needed to, not to become 'whole' but to ensure his demise be kind. Kind as Danny was, as gentle as Damian could manage with warmth that paled in comparison to Danny's own but much more than the League would have been capable of.
Damian felt, and saw, the slightest dip on the bed in the spot beside him and knew Danny was there. Silent and unseen by Damian's request.
There were no bugs within this room.
Damian had already checked every nook, cranny, and crevice he could find and manage.
He had already trapped the door to make him aware for if one of his 'siblings' (He hated that referral. There were no other 'siblings,' he had and has only one.) decided to make their presence known and if they managed to not trigger it, the room was as well.
Damian leaned over, hooking arm around Danny and pulling him close.
He could allow himself this, for this brief moment.
(Danny was cold. So, so cold.)
(It was both something he despised and took comfort in.)
(He despised how it was the reminder of how he failed, of the strength he lacked, of what he was incapable of.)
(It was a comfort. Because Danny was still there, still here even if only in death.)
He wrapped his other arm around Danny, and felt his younger brother return the gesture.
Yes, this. He could allow himself.
For the briefest of moments.

[Image description: Eight pages from the comic Mighty Nein Origins: Caduceus Clay. The first six pages feature a young Caduceus and his mother, Constance, while the last two pages show an older Caduceus, as well as his father, Cornelius, and sister, Clarabelle.
Page 1: A wide shot of the Blooming Grove, with a beautiful stone and wood temple sat at the center of a verdant cemetery. From afar, Constance calls outs "Caduceus!"
Page 2: Constance is stood behind her son, with his head only partially in frame. The first panel shows her saying, "There you are, didn't you hear me calling?" In the second panel, she is leaning down to her son, a concerned look on her face as she says "Oh."
Page 3: A smaller panel shows Caduceus cupping a dead bird in his hands, holding it tenderly. The wider panel then shows his mother sitting down beside him, the pair sat next to a head stone. He leans his head into her shoulder as she asks, "Would you like some help?" The pair then proceed ro bury the bird.
Page 4: Constance and Caduceus are kneeling in the dirt, over the bird's burial spot. Constance asks, "Ready?, with Caduceus responding "Mh-hmm." The pair touch the ground where the bird was buried, and soon a bright orange flower magically blooms from the spot, causing Caduceus to startle.
Page 5: Constance sits beside her son, her hand gentle touching his face as she says, "Death and decay are a part of a circle, a wheel turning without a beginning or end. Death is how we nurture life, Caduceus." He looks down at the flower as he asks, "Then how comes it hurts?" Caduceus lays down in his mother's arms as she explains, "Because you loved them." A smaller panel shows a closer shot of their faces as she asks, "Do you regret that love?"
Page 6: A small panel shows a closeup shot of Caduceus, looking sad as he replies "No." Another wide shot of the Grove is shown, with the pair sat at the center, Constance continuing, "Part of love is knowing they will go, and cherishing them with your whole heart in the face of that hurt." Another small panel shows a closeup of the newly bloomed flower, with some of its loose petal blowing into the wind.
Page 7: An interior shot, a number of years in the future, showing an adult Caduceus asleep in his flower filled bedroom. He wakes upon hearing the voices of his father and sister, who are in another room, getting up to go investigate. His sister says "I just don't think it's fair that --", Cornelius interjects, "Clarabelle, please keep your voice down."
Page 8: Caduceus comes down the stairs tiredly rubbing his eyes while his father and sister continue to argue. Clarabelle says, "I will not until you--", cutting herself off as she sees her brother appear. Cornelius moves to ready some gear as Caduceus asks "You're leaving?" He responds "The corruption isn't going away on its own. Maybe... maybe your mother found something out there. I'll find her and your aunt, and find a cure." Clarabelle steps forward, declaring "It should be my turn! I'm old enough and faster than you, anyway!" To which Cornelius responds, as he begins to depart, "Clarabelle Clay, mind yourself. Stay home with your brother." End description.]
Sneak preview of Caduceus's origin comic from Polygon!
Generations of the Clay family have tended to the careful rituals in the Blooming Grove. But when corruption begins to creep in on their sacred space, the Clays depart one by one to seek answers. Soon young Caduceus and Clarabelle are the only ones left, and when a dangerous burial quest falls to Caduceus, he must leave the Grove to do the family’s work.
