During covid i was having trouble getting an appointment with my psychiatrist to refill my Seroquel.

And when I say "having trouble" i mean that i had not gotten my daily prescription in 36 weeks.

That's 273 days of psychiatric meds i wasn't taking.

By the time I finally talked to my PCP about it, my withdrawal was so bad i was going through my life feeling like i had been drinking bc i wasnt sleeping.

Our healthcare system is fucked up. Doubly so for the disabled.

psychiatrists: You can’t stop this medication cold turkey. You need to stay on your meds no matter what. If you don’t stay on your meds I won’t treat you as my patient anymore

psychiatrists when you need your meds refilled: yeah I can do that in about 10 business days. oh you need it right now? or you’re going to end up hospitalized? meh I don’t care. good luck idiot
