Even though with Zarina on the team it'll be like "why do you need specific talent fairy's if Zarina can just make a talent" BECAUSE I WANT MY OTHER CRUSHES TO BE THERE and it took the main fairy cast like 4 days to figure out how to work their new talents. A winter fairy to frost over food or other things we don't want dying or going bad, along with just how ice is hard to walk on. It will be extra safety requirements to make sure they stay alive but it'll be fine.

ok i've been looking for a reason to talk about this for a while and im just gonna go off the rails here

i recently started watching Colin LooksBack's disney villain retrospectives and I'm so damn obsessed with them. I've mentioned this before, I'm a disney fan through and through. No matter how much I painfully despise so many of their recent movies, nostalgia and the hope of finding something as good as their classics keeps me coming back, as disappointed as I am with their recent features from all sides of the company

I'm especially a disney history fan, I love learning about the first few decades of this company for some reason, their movies from that time aren't even my favorites but just all the old concept art and ideas from the imagineers is so cool to me. Mary Blair's work specifically, her art for Cinderella is stunning.

Disney villains specifically have just always been amazing to me. I was obsessed with Ursula as a kid, I thought she was the coolest freaking character. I love her design, her voice is amazing, I adored her then and I still do.

If we're talking about disney content creators though? Avelo (formerly known as Dreamsounds) has my heart and soul. Her videos are everything to me, they got me through covid. I was so sad when she left when she was getting her bottom surgery, worried she'd never return. I audibly gasped when I saw her return video show up on my recommended because I love her videos that much, and still do, even if it's not as disney focused.

I dunno, I think my disney obsession and Kingdom Hearts obsession go hand in hand (hah, that's a kingdom hearts song). I mean KH and disney are tied together by nature, but I got into KH for the disney. I found my moms old kh1 copy a while ago and I wished I could have the chance to play it on the ps2 (which we sadly don't have anymore). I haven't ever finished kh1, the controls are too clunky and I hate that stupid fucking camera. Even still, it's a game that matters to me a lot. KH2 does more for me in the end though, I reset the game so often just to play through Roxas's section in twilight town. it's nostalgic, not even just for playing kh but it's the type of fun me and my friends would have during our summer vacation. seeing roxas's life fall apart is scary because in some way i relate, the friendship he had with hayner, pence, and olette in the data twilight town wasnt real, and neither were my friendships with those people.

back to more regular disney, i fucking love the disney parks. honestly im so nostalgic for fastpass, i miss needing to go up to those little stands and put it on some card. i hate genie+ and lightning lane because it feels much less personal, so do the disney parks in general for me now. maybe it's because i'm getting older, i wouldnt be surprised if that was the case. even still, i love going. i mean cinderellas castle is my damn wallpaper (godddd i love that wallpaper so much....) and there are multiple of these "disney parks music" videos that i will actively use to fall asleep because idk nostalgia is a bitch. the boardwalk one is a personal favorite of mine, something about it just hits for me. me and my family went right after covid started to slow down, the boardwalk was having a soft opening and we got in for cheap. we got this amazing room overlooking the boardwalk itself, and for lack of a better word the vibes were incredible. like... WOW. we drove down, it sucked because it was exhausting and i cant be in small spaces like that for too long, but in the end it could've been worse. i had given myself this challenge to watch all the disney movies before going, i finished encanto on that drive. it's what got me back into so many of them, treasure planet specifically. it feels like every year ill just find myself obsessing over one specific disney movie around this time, last year it was tp and the tinkerbell movies. this year id say it's alice in wonderland, which ive had an obsession with for years. it's just a plotless fun movie with memorable characters that mean something to me. i dunno, im a sucker for anything nostalgic, twisted is my favorite starkid show for a reason, and i don't just love kh for it's crazy plot and characters (although that's most of it)

so my aunt who has. dementia or we think she does cuz shes showing signs of it just almost suddenly died.

turns out she had a heart attack on sunday we didnt know about because she didnt see anyone or say anything until she called my mom today and so they brought her to the hospital and 3 of her major arteries were 99% blocked. They couldnt even do surgery on her because ya now surprise you can't really survive that when you can't actually breathe. So they put some stents in her and shes doing ok now but

but i dont. know how to handle this well really. i started mourning her a bit because she's started to forget us with the brain stuff but with it being so sudden ya know lol, gotta push up my grieving process more and schedule that mental breakdown about that t hing from 5 years ago to next week

jokes aside im. id what to do and im flipping between sorrow, numbness, and i dont know what. idk how my activity is going to fair. im on vacation though! great time to happen i guess so i dont have to deal with work but. yeah. wow this sucks lol. ill be around in DMs and probably might do some silly fun stuff to try and distract myself who knows! but hmu if you want, we dont need to tal about this but just. distractions are always nice

CBS Ghosts - Pilot - Sam Sees Ghosts

Warning Spoilers May Appear.

I love that Jay looks so proud and Happy as the guys get to work - noticed that the man ordering people around call some of them “roofers” so like - they had roofers, but didn’t fix that over the fountain? The roofers did such a bad job that it's a fight in episode 3? So many questions.

ANYWAY, adore Sam looking around in awe.  I’m glad that she isn’t traumatized by the place (’cause that would’ve been bad) and instead is SO THRILLED to be there and see a dream come true.

Sam, you have no idea how much this dream come true really is. :)

LMAO - Trevor just awkwardly standing out of the way when Sam talks to him.  He was just expecting to see that she was okay, and he’s smiling at her even though he doesn’t expect her to see him.  It’s kind of sweet.

It's like clearly, he just wanted to see her is okay.

And he’s such a puppy that he gets excited that she compliments of him.  

He’s so cute in this scene - me, you chose me?  Heart eyes.  Poor boy. This is the moment that he goes from 'she's hot' to 'I've got a terrible crush'.

I love that it takes him a second to realize what it means - like at first, he’s like “Wait, you’re talking to me” then “aw she likes me” then “shit - she talked to me - she saw me - holy fuck, must tell the others!”

And goes running.  

Interesting question - do you think Trevor (aside from his pants) is the worst secret keeper of the bunch?  He doesn’t seem to hesitate to share this while I could see Sass being like “how can I make this fun by NOT sharing this?”

Well, it took all of ten seconds for the happiness that Sam’s okay to be thinking about themselves.

At least, Hetty looks torn. Isaac is more like - the fuck we're going to to do now?

I love that they’re putting Thor and Pete next to each other.  They’ve got such a different perspective on things - excitement vs boredom in Alberta’s singing scene and here where Pete’s like “Boo Hotel, but they were here for a day and I missed them” while Thor is like “Clutter, damnit, Clutter!”

It’s so vastly different and the FUN thing is that Thor is the oldest ghost, so he knows what it’s like to have all that activity in the house, while Pete’s the 2nd youngest and he hasn’t experienced the full house (as far as we know) - Sophie’s been ill most of Trevor’s time there, and when Pete died, it seem like there wasn’t much activity then, either.

Trevor’s so cute here.  He’s so excited to tell them - and he’s clearly hoping this will ease things with Hetty, so he looks to the right where Hetty is when he says “Sam seems to like me” - underlying tone - you should like me too.

He clearly thinks bringing this news will help ease things over.

Also Where the F are Alberta and Sass.???  This is a big moment - they were literally there like MINUTES prior.  

LMAO - dude with no pants raises his arms and doesn’t notice because he’s too excited.  

Let’s look at these reactions:

Thor - Stares.  

Pete - glances away and tells Trevor to put his hands down.

Flower - is trying to look closer (Wow Flower). Wouldn't be surprised if this is why she & Thor don't ask Trevor to be the obvious third since she doesn't seem to like what she sees? On the other hand, I feel like she's probably seen it before (they all have) and there's a chance that something happened between them in the previous 20 years? IDK - either way, interesting reaction.

Hetty - grabs onto to Isaac for assurance and looks down and away after a second.

Isaac - kind of tilts his head, interested.  

LMAO  they are so funny.  I wish we’d seen Alberta and Sass’ responses here.  Although we did see Sass look up when Trevor gives his pants and underwear away in TP. And Alberta mentions keeping his schmeckle away during the 'stand-in mom hug in TB'.

Side note - knowing that the actor is wearing special underwear and came up with this joke makes this even funnier. OH MAN, sooooo funny.

AWW HETTY IS THE FIRST - Straight through the wall/closet?  Hetty’s so obvious as a ghost and probably argued that as the Lady of the House and Sam’s relative that she be first.

I can imagine Isaac arguing as the leader (captain) he should be first.  Hence, his walking in through the door second.

However, I think Trevor should've been first since she just saw him and talked to him.

I love how Jay’s just like “Yeah, a lot of yellow, but it’ll grow on you.”

Because he assumes that’s the problem.

Personally, yellow? I couldn't enjoy it.

It’s interesting that Sass, Trevor and Pete all walk in at slightly a second behind each other and together.  Wonder how they decided that?

Also, they all have slightly open mouths like they can't believe what's happening.

Finally, Alberta, Flower and Thor.  It’s interesting that they stand a distance away, Hetty still the closest.  

What's also interesting is Thor as the oldest ghost is the furthest back.

Also, Love how Sam’s trying to rationalize.  She did believe somewhat in ghosts for ages (hence the sage), but like it’s one thing to ‘believe’ and another to see it.  

Aw, poor Jay - he’s just like ... it’s paint, babe.  What’s the problem?  Sam and Jay are completely having two different discussions.

Which is going to happen a lot in their future.

Trevor and Pete as the youngest ghost have this conversation - they’re SO happy to have the possibility of Sam seeing them.  

BUT like "you think", Pete? It's pretty obvious that she CAN at this point.

Why did they think that ambushing her with all of them a good idea?

But Flower has never mentioned it being sad or boring or anything (which makes sense given her state of mind), so she probably just thinks it's all fun and games.

Poor Sam, That’s a terribly scary thing to happen.  How did she not run for the hills??? I would’ve. Certainly wouldn't go to sleep in that house.

like ok to be fair i'm an outsider to all this; i am not and never have been active in cpunk or -adjacent spaces. and i definitely feel like i have not seen the epicenter of this whole drama, since like. in browsing random disability blogs i have in the last week encountered multiple people whose posts for months have been 90% complaining about This Shit, and yet i have not encountered very much of the Shit in question at all?

like. i've seen a whole bunch of posts that go something like, "i can't believe abled NDs* have the gall to call us ableist bullies just for saying that chronic illness and autism are different experiences!", or like, "no matter how clear i make it that i'm talking about physical disability, all my posts end up with a billion notes tagged 'adhd' or 'depression' or whatever. why they gotta make everything about them! let us keep something to ourselves for once!", &/or c. usually in that order. but like... without the obvious middle stage where they argue on their blogs with actual objectors to this "let this be just for us" plea. so like maybe they've deleted most of those posts, or maybe the central example is on some cpunk bnf's blog which i just haven't happened to click on yet. idk. but my point is

that from my outsider's perspective it feels like a huge and sudden escalation? to have gone from "ugh not every post has to be about you; read the actual words i wrote, don't just pretend they said something else that you like better!" to, like, "in case you needed more proof that all abled NDs are ableist scum" rallying-the-troops type posts

and wow! i hate it! i cannot actually imagine a level of vitriol from The Other Side that would justify this bullshit.

i want, like?--i sorta hope that somewhere i've missed there's like, a long manifesto from the aforementioned (hypothetical) cpunk bnf about why they and their friends have suddenly decided that neurodivergent people don't count as disabled. even if i probably wouldn't agree with it, i'm still like. that should exist. you can't just start Asserting stuff like that, at people you know will take offense, without explaining anywhere why you've adopted these different discourse norms.

(or i mean--you can, but if you're not trying to escalate conflict then you really shouldn't.)

but.......... also it makes sense. not morally! but. logically. it seems to be a common problem with any echo-chambery discursive space? i remember when i was ~18-21 and much more Online, i would drink some shiny new kind of SJ koolaid and then forget within weeks that people who hadn't drunk that koolaid didn't know what it tasted like.

e.g. after that post that's like (i'm paraphrasing) "the expression 'boys will be boys' should be replaced with 'bad parenting leads to assholes'" got super popular, for years whenever i heard someone say "boys will be boys" i assumed they were either endorsing or deliberately mocking the sexist baggage with which i associate that phrase. when... no, pal; it's a common phrase. you have zero information about what it signifies in random strangers' minds

so like, i'm guessing that's what's gone on here? like like like, backing up a bit: i sympathize with and frequently feel for myself these people's rancor about mental illness (and, though to a much lesser extent, autism and adhd) being the public face of disability. and particularly the thing where like--

ten or fifteen years ago, when i first encountered awareness-raising activism about mental illness, a lot of it took the form of "you wouldn't download a car"-type comparisons with injury, illness, and/or central examples of physical disability. as in, like, rebuffing "your [mental illness accommodation] is just a crutch!" with "imagine telling someone on actual crutches that they shouldn't rely on a crutch" &c.

when what their intuition told them was about physical vs. mental or visible vs. invisible illness was really more about acute vs. chronic illness.**

and like a. this mistake is very annoying, since it leads to a lot of mentally ill/invisibly ill people assuming incorrectly that physically disabled/visibly ill people don't get doubted and belittled the same way they do, when uhhhh guess again.

but also b. it means that while from my perspective it seems super mega obvious that mental illness is the public face of disability in 2023, many people who care a whole lot about activist efforts on behalf of mental illness but who don't know much about other kinds of disability activism still, erroneously, inexplicably think that the reason they don't see as many campaigns like this for other kinds of disability is because physically disabled people are seen/accepted already and don't need to fight for that the way mentally ill people did/still do.

when like.

...this is such a tiny example but i'm bitter about it so: the other day on my university campus i saw a fundraising booth about support for mental illness. you can't log in to our canvas page without seeing a mental health hotline pop up in the corner. nearly every professor i've had here has at some point gone on a tangent about how important it is to support mental health. many times we've had little impromptu class discussions about the unique struggles faced by people with (always this phrase) "invisible illnesses like depression." my school is really really loud about how much it cares about student mental health.*** and i don't think any of these people know that when i encounter these pronouncements i feel like my own experience has been overlooked

so yes, ok? it pisses me off also when mentally ill/neurodivergent awareness-raisers, activists, and people generally think it's like. an underdog move. punching up, if you will. to reblog posts about chronic pain/other phsyical disability and add "this can apply to mental illness, too!" as if that's a mindblowing revelation to us stuckup, old-guard invalids when like. y-yeah, we know that mental illness also sucks. many of us (raises hand) experience it ourselves, and even if we haven't? we too have seen the internet. the mental illness experience is way more legible to the general public than ours is, so it's really fuckin annoying when people co-opt descriptions of our experience to be about theirs.

but like. the fact you (a physically disabled blogger) have now had this conversation with your (also physically disabled and blogging) friends doesn't mean you get to treat people who weren't in on that conversation like hopeless reactionaries??? this is like me in 2012 seeing the term "friend zone" as a red flag no matter who flew it, even though 2011 me had used that term nonjudgmentally and had no inkling of its entitled/sexist undertones.

like i can remember the exhaustion of communicating with waves of internet strangers who can't be bothered to backread your blog a few pages before commenting on some viral post but. th-that is the thing that's occurring here?? multiple waves of people who, each, individually, see something that without context looks inflammatory. not one wave of pigheads who refuse to listen.

okay AHA so eemmmm🤓🤓🤓🤓 i would describe idv to be a game similar to dead by daylight. (its primarily a mobile game but you can play in pc too) i would call the game "horror" as that's what its supposed to be but it's kinda hard to say that now because they spill a lot of very lighthearted content and events (skins especially) (THE FANBASE IS VERY. LIKE. NOT NORMAL ABOUT SOME SURVIVORS SKINS. ME INCLUDED) but yeah! its also kinda goofy AHAHAHA (though i feel that they were forcibly told to make it less horror-ish... idk why.) (but guaranteed, the actual lore can be dark as a lot of the characters and lore are quite unfortunate)

if you know how to play dead by daylight, it should be easy to understand how to play, but in case you don't - ill say it here:

you play either as a survivor (with other 3 survivors) whose task is to cooperate with your teammates to decode 5 "cipher machines" that will help open a gate to escape. - rescuers (those who can efficiently save teammates who are "chair'ed")

i primarily play rescue/assist :3 decoder is my secondary (ORPHE.US IS A KITER/ASSIST BTW AHEM) i would also try to elaborate on the hunters but i'm not that well versed and would much rather have someone else say it :3

its also worth mentioning that SOME survivors due to the lore, have double identities! which means some survivors have a hunter identity and vice versa. (there is only one case of a survivor having another survivor identity - which is just an adult character having a younger counterpart of themselves)

Whatever commission work you had planned before your period started is finished rather quick. When he goes to check on the tavern, he’ll complete your commissions for you and bring the mora back for you! He knows how hard it can be to get good paying commissions nowadays so he wouldn’t want you to miss out

If he sees that you’re feeling down, he’ll put more effort into complimenting you and being more affectionate than usual :)

Zhongli:

Ah yes, he is experienced in this area

He’s been around for so long, he knows all kinds of tips and tricks to help make symptoms not as severe

However his remedies are notorious for taking forever to make. His sobering tea takes 6 hours to brew…and his pain killer tea takes 9. By the time he finishes making all of his herbal concoctions, your period will be over lmao

Zhongli will put a lot of effort in to make sure you’re comfortable. He’ll get you as many pillows or blankets as you need, open the window for fresh air, close the drapes if it’s too bright, read to you if you’re bored. He knows you’re miserable so he’ll do his best to entertain you and keep you as comfortable as one can be in this condition

He’ll offer to do yoga with you if you’re up for it. Certain poses can alleviate pressure in the pelvic area so he’ll do it with you! (Squats always help me out too when it gets really bad!! Doing squats, drinking water and applying heat never fails! But everyone’s different!)

When you sleep, he’ll play with your hair and rub your back :) he loves how peaceful you look while finally getting some rest :)

Childe:

He’s a little clueless but he’s got the spirit!

See, when he received his education from the fatui they didn’t really give him a course on female anatomy so…he is aware of periods and what they are but he has no idea how severe symptoms can be

So when you’re in so much pain that you can’t get out of bed?? He’s super worried about you, he’s about to go get a doctor to come here to see you

It’s kinda funny to actually go in depth and explain how bad symptoms can be, how much you bleed, how awful cramps are cause he just…doesn’t know. Most men don’t actually know! He’ll genuinely feel bad for you and by explaining it all to him, he’ll learn and become a very reliable helper :)

“You should probably take a bath, right? I’ll go warm up some water” “Stay with me…just for a few more minutes” “Okay but then we’re gonna take a bath together. I’ll make the water extra hot too, that’ll help with cramps right?” “Mhm”

He’ll try to get you up and moving when you allow it so you don’t feel stiff from sitting in the same position for too long

Ajax is very affectionate already and will become even more affectionate if he sees that your self esteem is low. He’ll make sure to reassure you that you’re still so beautiful to him :’)

He’d think you’re pretty no matter what. You could have greasy hair, hormonal breakouts and eye bags from being tired and he’d still look at you like ‘wow…’ :’)

Baizhu:

As a medical professional, he’ll insist on being at your side when you show any indication of being in pain

He’ll make you some herbal pain relievers, they’ll taste super bitter and make your tongue numb for a minute but they’ll kick in pretty quick!!

Baizhu cant afford to take full days off but he’ll take half days in order to make sure you eat breakfast and lunch, drink water and rest.

You help him out when his own illness kicks in so he has no problem helping you out :) he’s content to rub your shoulders and coach you into sitting/laying positions that may be more comfortable

If you’re more cranky or sad than usual he’ll make you something warm and cuddle with you :) when you don’t feel well, you get to see his excellent bedside manner in action! Though he is far more affectionate with you than he is with his other patients lmao

If you’re someone who worries about their symptoms and fears they have suddenly developed a rare disease over night (looking up symptoms on the Internet is a terrible habit :’) ) He’ll be there to assure you that nothing is seriously wrong
