Disco trolls headcanon yapping

Prince D: "I think your map is a bit outdated" Branch: "Oh he's right look at that, it still has disco"

So, this line in Trolls: World Tour has always kinda bothered me and basically made me spiral one night watching it. How would Branch, a Pop troll who by all accounts is only learning about the other genres in the last 24 hours, know that Disco is an outdated/extinct genre? This is probably just a throwaway line to make the disco is dead joke. but............

Unless, of course, Pop trolls DO know about Disco trolls, and that they are now an extinct genre. Maybe because... For what they know, all that remains of the "disco" trolls have been living amongst them all along

Basically my headcanon boils down to Glitter trolls are Disco trolls that over time have literally been stripped of their genre.

Disco trolls would have left with the Pop trolls after the strings were divided (i like to think that unbeknownst to anyone their own String is hidden in the harp itself, which the pop trolls have, so they're compelled to follow). When the Bergens arrived at the troll tree, the Disco trolls began being picked off at a way faster rate than pop trolls (shiny shiny), establishing Bergentown's very 70s/disco aesthetic as they built their troll-eating society, while subsequently Disco trolls "losing" their own genre due to overconsumption. Eventually, while at the tree they develop the ability to have the iconic glitter farts as a defensive measure, and onwards they become known as Glitter trolls ✨

semi-dark king merlin au, someone from ealdor tells king cenred about merlin and he is captured and held as a slave in essetir. since merlin despises captivity and servitude, he’d rather be dead and free than alive and in chains so he acts out and pisses people (especially the king) off so they’ll think him too much trouble and kill him. at first they stick to beatings until merlin manages to get his chains around a few necks and now has a body count so they kill him…..only he wakes back up a few hours later and king cenred is Intrigued and keeps him close. merlin keeps acting out but no matter how many times they kill him, he won’t stay dead. merlin has this moment after waking up perfectly fine after his twenty seventh death where he is hopeless and believes there to be no escape, not even thru death. a few other sorcerers in chains come and help him clean up and give him a lil peptalk, realizing him to be emrys, and then they revolt and take over the kingdom and crown merlin as king and now uther is like “wtf” bc his neighboring kingdom who was kinda sorta on his wavelength about sorcery, though uther did not approve of keeping them alive, is now a kingdom ruled by magic. he goes to war with them but with magic running free and fucking emrys on the throne, they don’t make a lot of headway. anyways merthur meet on the battlefield, enemies to lovers, you get it

[When Nancy left I reverted to my old self, being distant and reserved from people, like at school. I was quite apprehensive stepping foot in the city again, always on the lookout for people around me. But with Charlie and Pam, I could be myself or what I aim to be like with others. Fearless, open and composed]

Vincent: [hesitant to ask a question on mind] So uhh, how's the case going? Charlie: I'll be honest, I don't really know. Dad said there are still no leads. [notices Vincent's face drop] You know what Vince, let's not talk or think about it today. See anything you want to buy?

Vincent: Not really. I'm only here to catch up with you two. You go where you want to shop. Pam: Actually, we passed this section of clothes, and it just screams Vincent to me [gets excited] Vincent: [questionable look] Ok…what are you implying?

Pam: You've got a nice, casual style already, but you might suit other stuff. Oh please let me pick some outfits for you-…no for both of you to try! It'll be fun! You might end up liking my fashionable choices. Vincent: Sure why not [laughs] we have some time to kill.

Charlie: Before I forget, do you fancy going to the Spice Festival later? Vincent: Hmm the Spice Festival? Is it already in town? Charlie: Yeah! My dads will be there, they'd love to see you again.

Charlie: And my cousin, too! She just arrived in San Myshuno today, all the way from Sulani. She's a first-year at Britechester like you, so you could meet before the semester starts. Vincent: As much as I'd love to, I still have some unpacking to do. Maybe next time?
