ep 5 - not a huge fan of the ripaxel dynamic but eh could be worse. loooooove mk and julia cheating and distracting the hockey bros and them finding out and there being a whole snowball fight that was awesome. i also enjoyed team ratface's dynamic i think this was my fav episode for team dynamics. sad to see nichelle go but im glad it wasn't zee my beloved who lowkey has elimination plot armor but im here for it. also the chref hair salon thing was so silly i love them

ep 6 - a bit all over the place. very early merge and continuity with the bowraj dynamic is wack like i thought raj was upset with him?? and now they're happy and fine?? rip mk's face. also not a huge fan that caleb is catching feelings for priya and zee is gonna be caught in the middle of that miscommunication i think the priyaleb dynamic is much more interesting if he doesn't like her back. either way its wayyyyy too drawn out compared to some plotlines that are getting rushed. the water skiing horses were HILARIOUS though and felt very total drama in a great way. there were also some funny lines this episode and i love that damien got a moment to shine and him and zee are bros and he's a dnd player!! sad to see bowie go but since it meant mk could stay im glad that's how it played out. wish we got to see julia telling people bowie was spearheading the cheating because that felt out of nowhere but i guess it makes sense considering their ire toward him him episode 1. though i still don't understand how he's more disliked in universe than julia.

okay so one: I have never been more conflicted about a ship in my fucking life

on the one hand, no, not in a million years, what are the writers thinking, what insanity is this, I'm so confused and not in a good way at all

but on the OTHER hand...he did opt for using something she liked in a unique way to get her attention, and was like, mega cringefail about it but it still worked??? SHE liked it??? that's the important part.

so???? i'd have to see further how they progress with this before I decide, because oh god was the secondhand embarrassment horrifying during these past few episodes

on the other...Raj and Wayne being upset about cheating actually makes ME kinda upset despite how much I adore MK and Julia's antics!!! like!!!! the boys just want a fair fun game!!!!! how can you say no to those faces???? they're like puppies I stg

i AM relieved this is like, a cheating in the GAME plot and not a cheating in the RELATIONSHIP plot because that is ALSO a TD Taboo and I was afraid, they're still adorable and have an actual narrative, god bless

rajbow (raj x bowie): o b v!! can't have one of these asks without these two, tbvh, I adore them and from what I've heard abt them, I love how Fresh handled them--the fact that the only canon gay ship is also on the list of the healthiest ships is wild and I freaking love it!! they're so adorable together too--and let me say I noticed the connection between Bowie getting crowns and Raj's name meaning 'king' immediately and it made me love them more! I can't wait to see more of them next season, and I hope Fresh doesn't fuck around with them like they've done with other ships 🤞

emwayne (emma x wayne): while I understand where the zemma shippers are coming from, I'm gonna have to say that I can see them as a pairing, but mostly I see zee and emma as friends than lovers. moving onto wayne and emma, I've seen a couple of rlly cute fanart abt them that roped me into rooting for them; also, I saw this tumblr post that talked abt wayne helping emma see that her and chase aren't right for each other bc of the break between bowie and emma's friendship; I thought it'd be cute that emma realizes what an actual relationship is supposed to be like based on the way wayne treats her and the two grow closer as he helps her come into herself more. overall, really cute pairing!!

nichaxel (nichelle x axel): MY LESBIAN BABES!!! ever since I saw that one scene where they interacted, I was HOOKED, I'm SO SO on board with these two getting together, ugh, I can just imagine how badass and amazing they'd be!! axel teaching nichelle to fight so she can make her comeback next season??? nichelle helping axel tune more into her emotions and her heart??? sign me tf up!! they'd be unstoppable, legit, I want this so bad! seriously, I hope Fresh does smth with them next season and if they don't get them together, I hope they at least let them be friends, goddammit!

chazee (chase x zee): okay, hear me out on this one. before the season came out, when all I knew abt everyone were those random pics of episodes, I remember wishing chase to be gay (or bi or smth that isn't straight or he realizes he's not straight while in the show) bc it'd break that stereotype which I thought would be cool--and I shipped him with zee like offhandedly, nothing extreme, just lowkey. like I thought their shipname was cute (chazee?? hello?? literally adorable?? and I've found out that ppl are calling them cheese now too and fdhdjf that just makes it cuter). then I started watching the season and got to know chase's whole personality, I was like 'ehhhh' and this pairing just...got shunted to the far corners of my mind. THEN I came across this freaking adorable fic of these two (it's this one!) that somehow converted me back to shipping these two??? then I started thinking up random scenarios involving the two and yeah imma say I adore these two. idk I feel like zee would be good for chase, like their way of viewing the world would be pretty helpful for someone like chase?? (plus the whole sexuality crisis can still exist on chase's end bc imo zee is the kinda person to already be aware of a lot of things abt him (their gender, their sexuality, etc) but not put much emphasis on it, y'feel?), and maybe chase's way of expressing himself would balance out zee's??? who knows?? idk I feel like this ship has a lot of potential and it's worth exploring-

MY THOUGHTS ABOUT EPISODES 5 AND 6 OF SEASON 2 OF TD2023!!!

MAJOR SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT!

I'll get the ships out of the way - WE DIDNT GET RAJBOW DIVORCE!!!! REJOICE!!! Their conflict wasn't solved well, but at least it's solved man! Rajbow is still alive!

Ripaxel is actually really growing on me? The shipping hasn't overridden their personalities which was a MAJOR concern for me. Glad to see Axel still kicking ass and Ripper being actually funny! ALSO THEY BROKE THE COUPLE'S CURSE! Neither of them have even been at risk of being eliminated which is kind of insane because usually the couples in TD have one partner (or both in gidgette's case) be eliminated right after they're established but THEY DIDNT! YIPPEE!

Priyaleb on the other hand... Yeah i don't care for them, sorry! they are the obligatory straights of the season for me, i REALLY don't care now that Caleb might be returning those feelings (i can STILL hold on to my grey-romantic Caleb headcanons >:D ) and i prefered when they weren't returned! Zee's involvement was funny tho, and Priya's pretty enjoyable in episode 5! They're cute but i DONT CARE.

MKULIA IS STILL IN THE GAME! Love how the only thing that bothered Chris was that MK stole his hair dryer XD that is very in character!!! They were fun in episode 5 and hey! They're still doing the alliance bit since they got a duo confessional in episode 6 so im excited to see where they go next!!!

Damien was fun in episode 6. just got nothing to add i don't really care for this man

i LOVE ZEE AAAAAA HE IS SUCH A SILLY LITTLE NOODLE OF A MAN lowkey might be one of my favs now (in canon) they figured out how to make imaginative jokes that have to do with the soda bit! He is such a vibe man

MK's been great too, i like how the cheating had consequences without those consequences being getting kicked off the game!

i'll mention the challenges before going over the eliminations, the iceberg challenge was pretty nice imo, i think Ripper getting involved with the MKulia cheating is fun and him ripping his shirt off is funny tbh. The snowball fight was really fun too!

The obstacle course is fine, the wall with the boots reminded me of Wipeout (which, fun fact, is called Total Wipeout in french) so that was pretty neat

The kayak challenge had a neat twist, loved Axel just punching Ripper off the boat and the confessional right after was pretty funny. Axel and her stupid ass boyfriend, it's great

OK ELIMINATION TIME!!! CANT SAY I DIDNT CALL THEM BUT I TOTALLY DID!!!!

I did say Nichelle might get eliminated since the writters have done nothing with her, but i... don't like what they did at all. The movie deals should've been real and Julia just snuck them on her bed since they were sent to production and they didn't give them to her yet. it just. sucks that all but one elimination while the teams were active were girls, especially Emma's and Nichelle's. Scary Girl is 100% coming back later tho so we'll see!

ALSO. DID I PREDICT EXACTLY HOW BOWIE'D GET ELIMINATED OR DIDNT I? Ok it wasn't exact but i was right on the money in saying Julia would get him eliminated by telling the others about him supporting the cheating. especially since she did it to save MK, im considering that an MKulia win. For once im actually satisfied with an elimination this season! dang!

My predictions are kinda the same - Scary Girl coming back, MKulia being real, Priya being eliminated soon - but i'll add my specific thoughts on who i think will be next in terms of eliminations next monday i think.

Honestly, it took me a min to process this weeks episodes.

I have been reading people thoughts about the episodes, and i miss when the Islanders had their own personal opinion on MC.

I'm also getting tired of FB desperately trying to make LI so shady in this case, Lewie, for me.

Like pls make up your mind. Is Lewie a sweet guy, or is he a red flag. Is Jamal the chilled cool guy, or is he a snake. Like i get there has to be drama but why is everything surrounding MC at least season 2 and 4 we had Priya/Noah/Hope drama Lottie or mc/Rocco/Marisol drama and 4, the whole Lexi/Kobi/Valentina.

If this is an attempt to bring back the story line of MC and Bruno, they are failing horribly.

At this point, i just feel like Ozzy is obviously the main character, I like him, but i really wanted to pursue and look into the other routes before his slow burn.

I did like that we finally got to interact abit with amelia and she wasnt mixed in the drama, but Pls for the love of god just get over what you have to say because i promise you i dont care if its anything Zeph involved.

I liked Lewie getting jealous, and im not gonna lie. i liked the whole (Suresh/Arlo) moment looking at each other through the dates, i wish we could have flirted like we did then, but i was a Suresh Girlie. But definitely, last season gave me whiplash, and i was hoping for a cleaner route the first time around.

The whole recoupling was so rushed like i was literally just coupled up with Lewie the night before????

Also once again FB WHY ARE YOU MAKING HIM GO TO TALK TO CHLOE BEFORE US, then coming to me to sneak away with you at the day beds???

I'm calling it now, FB IF I SNEAK OUT AND I FIND THIS MAN WITH CHLOE IN A COMPROMISING POSITION IM RESTARTING MY ROUTE AND STICKING IT OUT WITH OZZY.

Something bugging me is that we can't seem to talk to other ppl unless it's LI related. In Season 2 my MC was hooping around in my noah route. Right now, i feel like i barely spoke to Jamal or Roberto. it's either flirt with your first LI or Ozzy. Maybe they change it later. Sorry for venting!

Every single season since s2 we've all been like bring back s2. give us what we had back then. and I know when s2 was out people complained that MC was constantly in someone else's drama and it was too centered around the villa and not us. but why didnt they tweak that just a tiny bit instead of giving us the most boring season of life with s3. s4 I think is the closest we ever got to s2 because we actually had routes that season but we also had one of the ugliest MCs of all time. no need to drudge up the past on s5...I was a suresh girlie too and man they put literally everyone in hell every single week. I have some ptsd after that season and still havent been able to replay it. I know we said we wanted recouplings back after having zero last season but we actually wanted some control over them!! we didnt want fb to just dictate them all over again. fb lowkey has ruined the LJR route for me. one I hate that those THREE guys all have the exact same route. and then if you aren't romancing the other two u literally never see them or talk to them. S2 I never romanced Ibrahim or Gary and was never coupled with them but I actually got to know them and even though we were just friends I knew so much about them. We know nothing about the other guys. Some people have sent me asks about head canons for Roberto and I havent been able to answer them bc I literally dont know that man. the only people I know are Ozzy and Lewie and even then the convos have been kind of surface.

Oh well, New Gen starts to feel pretty real, not gonna lie but tbh i am not that excited anymore.

I'm still lowkey mad that we are not getting new high school story. Like really, beemoov propably never saw real world (at least i can asume that after Love Life) and they want to write workplace game? I have bad feelings about that.

Also our MC is supposed to be event planner... beemoov can we have mystic messenger? But we have mystic messenger at home!

New MC is at least pretty. I love the freckles. Also i hope that hairstyles gonna be on illus cause i will do a flip if we gonna be stuck with only short hair on illustrations. Like as someone who always dreamed about nice very long hair i would love to see that at least on illu in game.

Pet goose is in my opinion not really great pick. I guess they wanted to be original but oh well kinda yikes. And i'm pretty sure they gonna write it like it was a dog. Also i'm concerned if we will have place suitable for that kind of animal.

I'm glad that we get to docorate the room. I never really cared about stuff like that But i know many people like to pick furniture, walls and all. Nice!

Also I'm still kinda worried about love interests. I'm scared that we gonna get some woke shit like Priya in LL (in UL she was fine But later beemoov got way too far). Or characters with 0 personality like Hyun. Or something cringle like Jumin Han after a year in my candy love. Yeah, so many things can go wrong with them.

Just watched episode 4 and 5 of Total Drama 2023 and bro... how does it stay consistently good??

The animation is still good, the characters become more likable and interesting with every episode (Zee's my number 1 for sure), and the eliminations aren't always predictable. Idk man, it's just a good season so far even when its corny or silly.

Oh, I have feeling this might get long sooo...

There's still a few things I would like to see from this season or some things I think its lacking but, I'll save that for when I'm done with it first.

Alright, so ep 4 was good. It had an enjoyable challenge and fun character interactions. Damien and Scary girl were a surprisingly funny duo. Also, that Millie and Priya alliance was something I expected yet I'm still interested to see play out. OH- and how could I forget that Bowie and Raj moment!! LET'S GOOO! Like I said, good episode even if I wished Scary girl lasted longer.

On to episode 5... now let's be real, would this really be total drama season if it didn't spend the majority of an episode dedicated to farts? That being said, it didn't have to go for that long bruh 😭😭. But what's more annoying is that this episode has some of the best moments too. The Wayne confessional about how he's can't wait for Raj to come out as Gay or Bi so he can support his bro is so sweet!!!! And then minutes later Ripper gets to 48 steamboats or whatever and that whiplash is too much for me lol. It's a funny episode, but not because of the excessive gas. Anyway, currently mourning the elimination of our boy Damien :(

Lastly, this is something I've noticed since my last watch but the Chris and Chef dynamic is... different. I mean, that was expected since Chef is co-host now but... how do I put this? Chef is out here trying his best to ensure they don't get some type of lawsuit and Chris just wants mischief. Chef is trying to keep Chris in check but is lowkey failing terribly. Idk its different... and think I enjoy it?

okay ive got fantasy high on the brain so here's a little fantasy high td au that i will never write. spoilers for like. all of it that's been released so far.

the bad kids:

right off the bat, sammy and amy as adaine and aelwyn. don't have much to say on this besides i think they fit pretty well. amy would have to be a bit smarter for aelwyn's place in the story but other than that i think they fit pretty well. sammy as a wizard with anxiety but who also desperately wants to fuck up the ppl who wrong her once she gets treatment for that anxiety. also i like to think in this au that amy would have a redemption arc and she and sammy could learn how to be somewhat functional sisters.

lightning as fabian. they are both egotistical athletes with a ridiculous amount of pressure from their shitty parents and i would love lightning to have an arc where he makes friends and learns to overcome toxic masculinity

dj as gorgug! he has the capacity to rage but he doesn't want to unless its necessary which disappoints people who expect someone as big as him to be a fighter. but he just wants to give tin flowers to his friends! maybe his love for cooking turns into a love for creating and that's how he becomes an artificer. he would definitely make little mechanical animal friends. also that makes his moms wilma and digby

hear me out. priya as kristen. big worshipper of helio thanks to her parents/being his chosen one but as she goes through the world without that strong of an influence she realizes how wrong they are and breaks away from that mentality. a bit of a chaotic being as she goes through life trying to find structure again but dedicated to her friends and whatever deity she's worshiping at the time

kitty as fig. she loves her friends so so much. she wants to try so many different things. she has issues with an authoritative female figure in her life (emma/sandra lynn). i think she could rock the punk/devil aesthetic while still being so friendly and silly.

i had such a hard time figuring out who would be riz but i'm gonna say shawn. they're both conspiracy theorists who probably drink way too much coffee and get way too little sleep. i can see shawn's obsession to surviving the zombie apocalypse be turned into an obsession with solving mysteries in this world. i think it'd be funny if that made sanders sklonda because she already sorta has tired single mom trying her best energy and is (unfortunately) a cop

others:

chris as aguefort. truly a facilitator, manifester, and being of chaos. alternatively i could see him being the jace to chef's porter

millie as ayda!! she would sooo be a librarian who doesn't understand friendship and the chaos that comes with it but wants to be loved so bad but doesn't understand how to get that love and is generally insecure while coming off as knowledgeable and somewhat aloof

if kitty is fig then i can see emma as sandra lynn in an "older sister who's been raising her younger sister and who knows who her real dad is but won't say" i think there's some delicious sister angst there especially with kitty pulling away once she realizes they're actually half sisters and emma knows who kitty's dad is because she's older but won't tell her. not sure how gilear factors into the situation

dave as biz. has his nice guy thing with sammy instead of sky.

zee as zaphriel/the hangvan. just chill vibes dude.

scary girl as baron!! she's already lowkey got the aesthetic in different colors all she needs is the puppet/mask/mirrors stuff. she would haunt the shit out of shawn

raj as ragh!! starts out as a bit of a bully jock but once he gets over his toxic crush, is rescued by the bad kids, and comes out he's so much happier and nicer while still being a total jock. not sure how wayne would fit into the equation but maybe he could just be raj's friend on the bloodrush team

duncan as jawbone is really funny to me because yeah he has this crazy past as a drug dealer but now he's a high school guidance counselor who's super dedicated to helping kids and has embraced the domestic life?? kinda have a hard time seeing it for duncan but i do think it would be really funny

alejandro as garthy. don't have much to say on this just the vibes if alejandro wasn't evil and wanted to chill on a pirate ship he would be garthy.

leonard as sprak they're both so silly

i think putting trent as gilear would be so funny. local normal guy is just cursed to have the worst day every day. make that man the lunch lad

ennui as zayn purely bc of the tall goth aesthetic

beth as cathilda. i like to think she's generally small and helpful but could kick so much ass if needed

the rat grinders:

courtney as kipperlilly there's truly no other choice.

scarlett as oisin bc she seems like the nicest, most reasonable rat grinder and then bam she's been scheming with their most evil plot

crimson as mary ann bc she is so expressionless 24/7 but can fuck you up without blinking

julia as ivy. mean girl time!!

mal as ruben. he thinks he's so edgy and cool when he's just a high schooler who sings in an emo band. kitty would enjoy psychologically tormenting his as wanda chillda

bridgette as lucy!! she and courtney were once best friends until she was the one rat grinder who chose to die rather than be overtaken by rage and courtney is left alive and grieving and betrayed by her best friend

emma (td) as buddy, actually a pretty nice person who is being influenced by a toxic mindset and suffers greatly at the hands of people using her as a pawn

gotta go be a functioning human being in society so that's all i got for now

ok i just replayed season 1 and like... i am Generally not into the poly thing but holy shit jake/mc/rohan and jake/mc/talia are my DREAM. do you have any ships that you think would be better with more than two participants? (this is also lowkey how i feel about bobby/mc/priya and lottie/mc/gary which ik is probably not a popular opinion lmao)

jake, rohan and mc would asolutely be a dream team! although i don't think talia would be involved with jake because of their lack of chemistry, maybe mc being in the middle of things would set that throuple on fire lol

but yes! if we think about it it could work, because sometimes a relationship doesn't move forward due to the lack of balance, right? like gary and lottie. they don't work together in a couple, but adding mc, depending on her personality, might just be the finishing touch.

so, this is my list of ships i would like to see:

gary x bobby x mc. the chats alone are reason enough for me to want this. it's my very first ship when weekly releases were still happening and i stand by it. they have a way to talk to each other that reminds me of "goofy meets goofier" and i love it. plus, mc would be there to mature things up, besides having tons of fun with them. the banter about food... while gary makes fun of bobby's instagram feed, bobby would make fun of gary's feeding habits. i'm pretty sure gary has a balanced diet and avoids certain things, but if he was in a relationship with bobby and mc he would gain a few pounds, reason enough for bobby to call him garebear.

lucas x henrik x mc. i don't think i need to explain this one, but still. i got another ask, about lucas and a sunshine girl getting together and how the dynamics would be amazing. i think that's what convinced me henrik and lucas would be a great couple. henrik is all about the 💕😝🥺🌸💐🌷 and lucas is like 🕶💣🔪🖤🌩, and i love that trope. lucas would be soft for only two people, and those are henrik and mc.

lucas x kassam x mc. UM, yeah. this is probably my favorite impossible ship. kassam and lucas share too many similar opinions about so many things it's a shame they didn't have a chance to meet in the villa. while lurik is a protective relationship, kassam and lucas is more of "we mess with each other because we can handle it" kind of thing. and i don't have to say how hot it is to picture kassam and lucas teasing mc, come on!

ibrahim x noah x mc. please, i know rahim doesn't show signs of feelings towards boys, but if i can dream then this ship has to make the list. rahim is so warm, and so is noah. i reckon they would have some difficult to balance their feelings and would have to learn how to open up and talk about them, but despite of taking some work i think this is a great ship, warm and nurturing.

marisol x lucas x mc. EXCUSE ME BUT THIS IS SOMETHING I WANTED TO SEE IN THE GAME. listen, lucas might've been feeling some type of way about what marisol and rocco did, and that could be the reason why he chose mc and didn't stay coupled up with marisol. once the villa is in the past i reckon lucas and marisol would actually be a good fit, especially if mc is in the middle. somehow i imagine she's the balance the relationship needs.

chelsea x henrik x mc. best time mc would have in her life, periodt. it's like having twice as much "what do you mean by 'thingy that mixes?" but i would still like to see it. they're both so loving and caring, and i don't have to mention the weekends would be adventurous every time. chelsea would want to drag them to the stores to check new things for their place but henrik insists a climb would be more perfect. bickering over what to do but giving in to the other and having a giant schedule in the hallway, to make sure everyone remembers everything, would be so funny, and probably accurate.

carl x lucas x mc. i just love how much lucas would actually be able to make carl come out of his shell. i think i wrote something like this in the past (or it could've been a cough syrup dream) but i think a throuple with these two is the ultimate fantasy and i won't budge. lucas is just daring enough to tease carl, and mc is daring enough to tease lucas, it all fits. plus, the two boys have very similar taste for everything and loves sophistication. this might be my favorite because of how opposites they are.
