Sreedy, why do you not love me? Why must you hurt me so? I am on Chap 12 and still get get over the death that happened in Chap 6. Like this felt like the Boots betrayal all over again. You made me like this character. Then *boom* dead.

You couldn't even give them a cool death? Not one where they could sacrifice themselves for the greater good?

Then... AND THEN.... you didn't even talk about them in your Author's notes?! (Because of this, I'm holding on to the delusion that they are still alive-somehow)

In my mind, Sokka was just confused. Or this character had a clone or something. They are not death (I have to believe this for my sanity)

Ok!! So I actually purposely didn’t give him a dramatic death because unfortunately he was a common foot soldiers and people viewed him as expendable because of that & he was tossed aside like garbage the moment his purpose was served.

Day 5: Sky

Dr. Ara Lynn is one of my closest friends at the institute. I may have been the one to discover the still living Kyurall within the grasp of a titan’s claw that fell through the rift, but Ara was the one who created a system to communicate with them. I loved it when she would share with me all the stories that Walnut, the Kyurall, would tell her. 

She told me the Kyurall stories of impossible places. Places like a city built within a mountain made of stained glass, or a walking city of warmongers that leave Atria scorched in its path. She told me their stories of fantastical animals like impossibly massive monsters that would eat the light of the suns and turn it into the stars, or a creature made of pure light that would guide lost Kyurall to where they needed to be most. 

One of my favorite Kyurall stories was titled ‘The Mother’. It reminded me of something you would find in an old German fairy tale; one of those tragedies that teaches a moral lesson but is also unapologetically dark. The story told of a mother who adopted 4 perfect children who all flew with her in perfect order. One of the children, however, kept flying too close, annoying their mother. To compensate, they always fell back too far. The mother of the 4 feared she would lose this child if they didn’t stay close in flight but also feared if they flew close they would crash and fall. And so, the next time the child flew too close to her, she grabbed them close and ate them whole, keeping the child close to them and safe forever. 

The thing about legends like this is even if they aren't, literally, a perfect recount of non-fiction events, there is still a substantial amount of truth in them. The stories themselves are nothing more than a way of giving truth perspective and making complex situations and ideas easier to understand. 

The Mother is my favorite, because of what happens when you examine this truth, after having removed the lens of storytelling. Looking at geothermal scans of the rocky planets in the Atria system, Atria has a noticeably higher core temperature, meaning that sometime during the more recent geological history of this planet, it was hit by something massive which reheated the core. Another truth, from what we were able to translate from the Kyurall, is that the three moons that surround Atria are called The Three Children while Atria, itself, means both ‘Home’ and ‘Mother’ in Kyurallian. This ancient story is, brilliantly, the Kyruall’s oral tradition of explaining how one of Atria’s four moons crashed into the planet hundreds of millions of years ago. 

One of the most recent tales Ara shared with me, before I left, spoke of giants. It told of a curse that befell a clan of war-mongering Kyurall long ago. The chief wished for their clan to become stronger than any other clan; and the Mother, Atria, listened. They grew so large and strong that they could swallow a person whole. These hulking, pale Kyurall used their newfound power to wage war against all of Atria. The Mother saw the bloodshed but could not take away their wish and so she twisted their wish, giving them everything they asked for and more. With their animal-like strength came animal-like intelligence. The entire clan lost their ability to talk and think, and soon became one with the beasts. 

Despite losing everyone, the chief refused to give up. Even with the curse, the hatred in their heart continued driving them towards death. They ruled the sky and forced any Kyurall to remain grounded unless they wished to face their wrath. The Mother pleaded for them to stop; after all, what more could they lose and what do they hope to gain. The chief ignored her pleas and so the mother bestowed upon them a final wish. 

They began to grow and grow, becoming ever stronger with each passing day, but their wings stayed the same size. They were cursed to never grace the skies again. But, ever stubborn and spiteful, they used the Mothers curse and forced themself to grow more. Soon their head broke through the tree tops and they once again found themselves in the sky. The dark heart, however, was now so far from their mind that the chief was free from its influence. They were now the biggest and strongest Kyurall of all of Atria, but had been freed from any desire to abuse that power. Another one of my favorites. I’m sorry Walnut for how much I paraphrased your story. 

Now on Earth we have similar stories of things like giants. Much like Kyurallian tales, these stories do have some truth to them as well. Sometimes the truth is a mistaken cave bear skeleton, or oral lore from when humans walked with animals like gigantopithecus. Now I would have been willing to bet that the same situation happened with the stories of giants here too; that it was a misinterpretation of some long extinct alien animal from millennia ago. How I love to be proven wrong though. 

The giants of Atria are very real. Not a humanoid giant by any means, but rather a hulking Kyurall. It was pale and bestial, just like the story told; not to mention It was also large enough to dwarf small aircraft. And since the story up to this point was true, I was quick to assume that it could’ve also easily eaten us in one bite. Fortunately, it seemed to already have its claws full with its meal for today. It was carrying a familiar Northern Berrar; toting it around in its specialized back talons like it didn’t weigh anything. We watched as it flew, prey in hand, right over the edge of the plateau and then, simply, it let it go, dropped from the sky allowing gravity to do all of the dangerous work for it. The Greater Lockwing then swooped down and helped itself to the easy meal. 

This kind of hunting strategy shows that this giant possesses at least some acute level of intelligence. I assume that, if the Kyurall were human, the greater lockwing would be akin to a chimpanzee or another great ape. They are Strong, and smart; brawn and brain. I can see why these animals became creatures of legend to the Kyurall. The question is then, if this myth can be true, then do any legends of Atria truly exist exclusively as mythos? Or could it be, every single one spurs from an honest tale taken from the mouth of a lone survivor.

After an hour, the car took us to our dormitory, a palace compared to our cubicles which served as an apartment for 6 girls. Packing our things didn't take long, surprising given how many clothes Gabi had. We had to take his ton of stuff with us. I feel that the cohabitation will be long and hard, we will stay together for 7 years or more, if the group works of course.

I hear knocking at the door.

Heni: Come in.

Iji and Ara's heads go through the door.

Iji: So, how's the installation progressing??

Heni: Slowly but surely.

Ara: You want help.

Heni: If it's to steal my clothes, I pass.

Iji sneers.

Ara: You're the worst unnie.

She rolls her eyes, crossing her arms.

Heni: We already have enough, don't you think. You can attack Gabi's wardrobe if you want.

Iji: With her ton of clothes, you'll have a choice.

Ara: Yeah, that's it. Well, apart from that, we're going to be part of a group together, in addition with superb unnies.

Iji: You know legally, we should be in school like all normal kids.

Ara: Apparently, we're not normal, anyway, it's your dream, isn't it? To start.

Heni: Besides, it's still two years from now, so we will have already grown up.

Iji: What bothers me is that other people could have been chosen, a Trainee who was there for a long time, much longer than me. I feel too young and inexperienced.

Ara: Heni?

I turn to her.

Henry: Yes?

Ara: Do you think like me?

Heni: It depends on the situation, so I don't know.

Ara: I'm just saying that the 14-year-old prodigy who has outstripped every Trainee for months here is stupid.

Heni: HA!! Ah yes, you are stupid!

I point at Iji accusingly.

Iji: Oh… it's not a point that I was in the top 10.

Ara:

I totally disagree.

Ara: No no, silly, that's a point, inexperienced my eye.

Heni approves with two thumbs up.

Ara: In addition, if I start, it's with the Moonz, not without, ok!?

Heni: Yeah!!

Iji: Okay!!!

Lynn suddenly enters the room.

Lynn: Maknaes, it's time to eat, I made a Japanese dish for dinner.

Heni: Waa, it smells good!

Ara: You're right!!

Iji: I want the first bite!!

Iji starts running towards the dining room.

Ara: No, I want to eat it!!

Lynn:

Kids, too cute.

Iji and Ara ran off to the dining room but Heni just stood there.

Lynn: You don't run, do you?

Heni: Am i supposed to?

She stands there dumbfounded.

Lynn: Go to the dining room, that's all.

We walk together, she moves in slow motion,

the world is going too fast for her apparently.

Akane:

After having eaten, eaten our fill for once, I'm crying so much it's good, we were in the kitchen talking.

Ara: What do you think we'll be called?!

She gobbled down a piece of meat asking that question.

Yerin: Something nice I hope.

Gabi: I also hope that the concept will be interesting, as for aespa for example.

Akane: The technological madness works only with them, we will surely have something different.

Lynn: We might have a storyline! It would be fun, we might be able to do several musical styles.

Iji: And in your opinion, what will our positions be??

Ara: Well, everyone knows you're the maknae, Ijin.

Iji: Iji and yes that's for sure.

She rolls her eyes.

Iji: The rapping hand is Akane, that's for sure too.

Sunsol: Mio is the main dancer.

Mio: Ahh, yes, well, yeah.

Chenny: We shouldn't get excited like that, we'll all know what we need to know in due time. Our debut is still planned in 2 years, well if we don't have any problems.

Yerin: Don't be pessimistic like that, if we're going to start, it's surely together.

Heni: She's right…uh, I want to start together…we what.

Iji: We all know it will be super hard, no.

Gabi: Of course, we all knew that, when I stopped stuffing myself, I knew it was hard.

Everyone laughs.

Sunsol: We will get there!!! Let’s GO!!

Iji: Don't shout, I have sensitive ears.

Sunsol: OH REALLY !?!?

Sunsol continues to scream in Iji's ears, soon joined by Ara, they like to annoy the youngest, that's for sure.

Iji: Stop it! You're going to break my ears!

Iji throws the rest of his dish at Sunsol, but the dish ends up in Yerin's face.

Iji: Oh!! I don't regret my act at all, sorry Yerin, you fell in the path of my dish.

Yerin: You don't know what you threw!

She in turn shoves her food into Iji's face, which triggers a food fight in the dining room.

Typically, he’d take his payment, cut ties, and move on. However, Sophie isn’t your average bride. Fast forward a few months, and Max is the one in a pickle, turning to the person who’s as cynical about love as him. Sophie’s acronym has found a special place in my heart and I would be interested to know what impact Lynn’s words will have on her readers.

BEST EXPERIENCE?: Like Ferre, Lena and Winter said : our group plots!! Our verses are sooo exciting and the creativity is INSANE I love everything about it!! Also being back to Tumblr is soo satisfying and the fact I met all these amazing writers with whom we aspire to the same things for our muses I love it here.

RP PET PEEVES?: Honestly I've found my people all the RP pet peeves I used to have are completely gone. Simple : I deleted the people I couldn't stand anymore and all is right in the world, rp is perfect.

FLUFF, ANGST, OR SMUT?: I love a fair mix of all! I just like my plots intricate and with many layers and the moment we have that, it gives depth to any fluff angst and smut we might make

PLOTS OR MEMES?: I would say plots, I LOVE plottings I always have ideas left and right. What I like the most with plots is that then we get to discuss our muses and keep imagining more and more things to get into so it's not static plotting it's like an everyday plotting kind of situation with me .

LONG OR SHORT REPLIES?: Funnily enough it depends on the blogs and muses. I tend to write very long stuff here on @uroborosymphony and for my japanese boys @yaoogui too because the plots lead to long replies. As for @geaesaekki I manage do do shorter things. I like shorter things too these days, it's fun.

TIME TO WRITE?: It varies but usually during week days after work if I'm free in the evening, because on the weekends I'm always busy and traveling. I wish I could do something cool like a queued system but I tend to immediatly post when I get something done.

ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S)?: I don't think I am, my characters are usually insane, very toxic and love to toy with peoeple's mind HAH. I'm kinder than most of them even if I don't take shit from nobody. But I might be a psycho too who knows :)

Day 14: Teleport

Some time ago, I mentioned in these logs something about a Kyurall story Ara Lynn shared with me. It was a story that spoke about people in need or people who lost their way. It told of a being made of pure light that would guide people home. While I know better than to doubt the validity of these stories, my assumption was these creatures held the same origin as willowisps back on Earth; nothing more than chemiluminescence caused by decaying organic matter. Here on Atria, however, wisps are genuine living beings. 

It, again, didn’t look like any animal I've seen thus far on this planet. Rather, it looked more like that of a deep sea jellyfish or even a colonie of salpas. Excluding the smaller sensory organs on its anterior and the larger ones which made up its tails, Its entire body was comprised of a series of tube-like structures built around a single gelatinous shaft filled with some sort of buoyant gas. I'm not sure if it possesses its own bioluminescence, or if it glows due to its diet like many other animals, but its entire body was glowing almost painfully bright down here in the dark caves.

The wisp would propel itself through the air in short controlled bursts by contracting the tube structures that surround its body. Its movement was very jellyfish-like in both patterns and speed; that is, until you get too close. 

While following this animal in hopes to get a sample, I must have approached it much too fast. The wisp, startled, jettisoned out a cloud of bioluminescent vapor and, seemingly, disappeared. I can boldly say Its defensive method is painfully effective, having experienced it first hand. The curious thing is, nearly a hundred feet away, the animal began to glow once again. 

Despite moving steadily through the caves, this animal is capable of incredible bursts of speed. Its light, buoyant body can glide through the air with little to no friction. To a potential predator, it would appear to them as if a new prey item appeared too far away to catch. To me, it looked like the animal could teleport. 

This wisp also fits all of my criteria. It has color, it can move quickly, and it appears to be hard for a predator to catch and eat it. The legends of Atria spoke of beings of light acting as guides for the lost, who am I to become a skeptic now of all times. I trust the stories of the Kyurall far more than I trust my own ability to keep us safe. I guess we’ll see where the wisp leads us tomorrow.

We were still in the training room, all together, chatting, calmly. Jin Sol and Yerin were laughing like crazy, while Iji was judging them loudly right behind. Ara and Heni were in the middle of a discussion, adorable. Gabi was stretching with Mio, on the floor, except that's when Jin Sol fell backwards because she was laughing way too much, rolling backwards, bumping into Mio and Gabi.

Gabi: Soli!!! What's your problem ?

Mio: Ouch! I am in pain.

Jin-Sol: Sorry! It's Yerin's fault.

Yerin: Don't accuse me!

Jin Sol clasped his hands in apology.

Jin Sol: Sorry girls.

Iji: Are you bilingual?

Jin Sol: Of course!

Because of Jin Sol's burst accent, we all laugh our hearts out, making fun of her.

Chenny: You are the least serious here… Finally after Yerin. Nobody beats his stupidity.

Yerin: Chenny!!!!! How dare you ?!

Yerin then does her drama queen which makes us laugh even more.

Akane:

We had fun together, it was great. But it was still a long time that we were there waiting.

Akane: What have we been waiting for all this time actually?

Lynn: Yes, it's true we've been here for over an hour.

Ara: One hour?! Only I feel like I've been here for a whole day

Mio: I no longer have the notion of time since I left Japan, me, apparently you too Ara.

Ara: Is that supposed to be nice?

Mio: No.

We all laugh even more. It's weird our humor.

We were still making fun of Ara, when suddenly someone walks into the training room. We all get up in panic and line up, a reflex of our years as a trainee. It was a woman, very beautiful, probably in her twenties, accompanied by a man. Looks like a couple, the gentleman was also in his twenties, that's for sure.

_Hello girls !

Enthusiastic lady.

Us: Hello.

Without emotion, because in my opinion, we were a little scared.

_Hey ! Get a little excited girls, you've been chosen to be part of a group.

Ara: REALLY?!

_ That's the kind of reaction I want. Anyway, my name is Heo Erin, and from today I'm your appointed art director. Me and my colleague here, we have chosen you and propose a project for a new girl group to the management of SM. This is Mr Parker, your manager. We will take care of you as it should be.

Mr. Parker: Hello.

Ara:

We listen carefully to what they tell us.

Ara: We will then be in a group every 10?!

Ms. Erin: Yes, all 10.

Chenny: Since when do 10-member groups work, especially in SM?

Ms. Erin: That's the challenge we gave ourselves, me and Parker.

Mr. Parker: Don't call me Parker.

Mrs. Erin: Shut up.

We all prevent ourselves from laughing before being reprimanded, it looks like a couple.

Iji: Excuse me but we're still too young, me, Ara and Heni, no. Are you going to start us off like this?

Ms. Erin: The project still needs to take some time to properly train the group. Your debut will be scheduled for 2023.

JinSol:

Ah ok, so we still have time to improve before starting, I can't wait to start.

Jin Sol: So what do we do now?

Ms. Erin: It's Parker's turn to speak, isn't it Parker?

Mr. Parker: Shut up, Erin! Okay, you're going to move into your dorm, together. Then we will give you time to settle in. Tomorrow we will start to establish the bases of your group, the positions and all, with time, we will talk about the concept with the other madwoman there, and the rest will be communicated to you.

Jin Sol: Wow, that's crazy!

Mr Parker: By the way, we will also give you new stages names. Not all of them, it will depend on your choices too.

Yerin:

I didn't say anything from the start, I was so stunned, it's crazy, it's the start of a new experience, I don't believe it.

Yerin: Do we have a name?

Ms. Erin: Patience, you will be soon. Now go get your things together, a car will pick you up in two hours.

Then they leave, leaving us like potatoes in a field.

Chenny: In 2023?

Gabi: Are we going to start in 2 years?

We all look each other in the eye without saying anything, suddenly I explode with joy.

Chenny: Ugh! why are you screaming?

Yerin: WE'RE GETTING STARTED!! In 2 years but that's already it.

Iji: She has the right to be happy, I think we all are.

Ara: You're kidding me, Iji. Come, let's redo our handshake!
