Was rewatching the end of the 2014 series and I thought it was interesting that they drew Natsu holding Lucy like this for the Phantom arc.

I’m pretty sure the only time Natsu carries Lucy in this arc is after she jumps from the tower, but that was piggy back. The only times Lucy is passed out, Natsu is not around. And the only times her clothes are messed up was when Gajeel was hitting her (in the anime), but she was awake and Natsu doesn’t hold her after.

Just thought it was interesting.

There’s also a bit of gajevy in the one for the Fighting Festival.

But trolls and dwarfs had been fighting for centuries. Ending that sort of thing took more than a handshake. It was just a symbol.

On the other hand...the world wasn't moved by heroes or villains or even by policemen. It might as well be moved by symbols. All he knew was that you couldn't hope to try for the big stuff, like world peace and happiness, but you might just about be able to achieve some tiny deed that'd make the world, in a small way, a better place.

The Little Things

His mother always said he could be something more. Something better.

At first, he thought he found that with the chimera pack with the exception of Donovan and his killer behavior, but he was mistaken.

Being invited out to the beach with remnants of the McCall pack is very daunting.

“Josh, you know you have to walk onto the beach to get to the water.” Mason says, a joking smile on his face.

“Yeah, I know.” Josh bashfully nods, keeping at a distance from everyone.

“I’m so glad we’re here today. I was ready to bash my head against the wall because of all the specific instructions we were given.” Liam sighs, checking his phone to see if he has another message about how to handle things while Scott is away.

“Yeah.” Josh slowly walks to the beach, sounding and feeling awkward, as if he doesn’t belong here. Maybe he doesn’t. It feels surreal.

“I hope someday you can say more than three words at a time.” Liam frowns, barking out a hey when Mason jabs him in the ribs.

“Leave Josh alone. He’s not used to all of you.” Corey laughs, giving him a sympathetic look.

“They’re harmless I promise.” Nolan smiles, and lays his towel on the sand, enjoying the sunshine.

“Especially when you mention certain people’s names.” Mason quips, as he looks around to find a good place for his own towel.

Josh can’t remember the last time he went to the beach for fun. It feels nice. Lighter almost. Something he needs.

“Have you ever played volleyball?” Corey asks, throwing Josh off because they’re all so nice and normal.

“We can’t play that game with Liam. Remember last time?” Nolan groans, making a joke and immediately looking away from Liam’s scowl.

“He technically won.” Mason smiles, showing Josh a video of Liam’s heroic attempt at going for the volleyball, that’s quickly outdone by Theo’s own performance of playfully shoving the werewolf to the side.

“He wasn’t even playing. He randomly came on the court to make me lose.” Liam huffs, and Josh doesn’t bother saying anything, only smiling at the light-hearted fun they all seem to have together.

Originally, he thought becoming a chimera was the worst thing that has ever happened to him, but now he’s just happy to be here. It was a blessing in disguise.

There was a lot of trauma, a lot of stress, and unknown danger he had to navigate through, but it’s the little things that matter. The little details that you can’t always see.

The way things are meant to happen.

Nothing is easy. There’s hardly ever smooth sailing when it comes to Beacon Hills, or being a chimera. What makes things different and what makes things achievable, are the people.

The ones who you surround yourself with. Josh is new to this little group of misfits, but he’s just happy he’s here, allowed to be with them. It’s more than he thought he would have.

“If Theo doesn’t hurry up and get our snacks I’m going to be annoyed.” Liam falls backwards onto his towel, dramatically groaning out a pitiful whine.

“You don’t want to see him hangry.” Nolan rolls his eyes, eliciting a laugh out of Josh.

It’s the first real laugh he’s had in a while.

Yeah, he’s going to be just fine. He likes it here.
