Opinion Here’s how to get free Paxlovid as many times as you need it
When the public health emergency around covid-19 ended, vaccines and treatments became commercial products, meaning companies could charge for them as they do other pharmaceuticals. Paxlovid, the highly effective antiviral pill that can prevent covid from becoming severe, now has a list price of nearly $1,400 for a five-day treatment course.
Thanks to an innovative agreement between the Biden administration and the drug’s manufacturer, Pfizer, Americans can still access the medication free or at very low cost through a program called Paxcess. The problem is that too few people — including pharmacists — are aware of it.
I learned of Paxcess only after readers wrote that pharmacies were charging them hundreds of dollars — or even the full list price — to fill their Paxlovid prescription. This shouldn’t be happening. A representative from Pfizer, which runs the program, explained to me that patients on Medicare and Medicaid or who are uninsured should get free Paxlovid. They need to sign up by going to paxlovid.iassist.com or by calling 877-219-7225. “We wanted to make enrollment as easy and as quick as possible,” the representative said.
Indeed, the process is straightforward. I clicked through the web form myself, and there are only three sets of information required. Patients first enter their name, date of birth and address. They then input their prescriber’s name and address and select their insurance type.
All this should take less than five minutes and can be done at home or at the pharmacy. A physician or pharmacist can fill it out on behalf of the patient, too. Importantly, this form does not ask for medical history, proof of a positive coronavirus test, income verification, citizenship status or other potentially sensitive and time-consuming information.
But there is one key requirement people need to be aware of: Patients must have a prescription for Paxlovid to start the enrollment process. It is not possible to pre-enroll. (Though, in a sense, people on Medicare or Medicaid are already pre-enrolled.)
Once the questionnaire is complete, the website generates a voucher within seconds. People can print it or email it themselves, and then they can exchange it for a free course of Paxlovid at most pharmacies.
Pfizer’s representative tells me that more than 57,000 pharmacies are contracted to participate in this program, including major chain drugstores such as CVS and Walgreens and large retail chains such as Walmart, Kroger and Costco. For those unable to go in person, a mail-order option is available, too.
The program works a little differently for patients with commercial insurance. Some insurance plans already cover Paxlovid without a co-pay. Anyone who is told there will be a charge should sign up for Paxcess, which would further bring down their co-pay and might even cover the entire cost.
Several readers have attested that Paxcess’s process was fast and seamless. I was also glad to learn that there is basically no limit to the number of times someone could use it. A person who contracts the coronavirus three times in a year could access Paxlovid free or at low cost each time.
Unfortunately, readers informed me of one major glitch: Though the Paxcess voucher is honored when presented, some pharmacies are not offering the program proactively. As a result, many patients are still being charged high co-pays even if they could have gotten the medication at no cost.
This is incredibly frustrating. However, after interviewing multiple people involved in the process, including representatives of major pharmacy chains and Biden administration officials, I believe everyone is sincere in trying to make things right. As we saw in the early days of the coronavirus vaccine rollout, it’s hard to get a new program off the ground. Policies that look good on paper run into multiple barriers during implementation.
Those involved are actively identifying and addressing these problems. For instance, a Walgreens representative explained to me that in addition to educating pharmacists and pharmacy techs about the program, the company learned it also had to make system changes to account for a different workflow. Normally, when pharmacists process a prescription, they inform patients of the co-pay and dispense the medication. But with Paxlovid, the system needs to stop them if there is a co-pay, so they can prompt patients to sign up for Paxcess.
Here is where patients and consumers must take a proactive role. That might not feel fair; after all, if someone is ill, people expect that the system will work to help them. But that’s not our reality. While pharmacies work to fix their system glitches, patients need to be their own best advocates. That means signing up for Paxcess as soon as they receive a Paxlovid prescription and helping spread the word so that others can get the antiviral at little or no cost, too.

You know there's more similarities between Shinsou and Mic outside of just "has a voice quirk." For instance, for all that people write Shinsou as someone who doesn't want friends, it's been shown multiple times in canon that, much like Hizashi, he has a very high co-operative stat, able to form teams and work with just about anyone - even as far back as the Sports Festival - with pretty much no issue, and he's well loved by all his classmates, given they all cheered for and supported him when he lost his match
So from this their similarities are: voice based quirk; highly co-operative; able to adjust quickly to any team and other quirks; well loved by classmates; very perceptive; vibes through life; thumbs up emoji; big grin

"El, do you want to just dump all the info you learned about OCD while on a weeklong research binge, desperately trying to understand what was going on in your brain?"
Why yes, I do. Did you know it has a very high co-morbidity with Tourette's, and a slightly lower co-morbidity with ADHD. One research paper I read posited that they might all spring from a dysfunctional impulse control, though that was pretty much the scientific equivalent of wild guessing, since it was in the conclusion instead of the focus of the research

the most damning thing is the whole "must show up before aged 2".. mama did pay a lot of attention to me so its like. she says there wasnt anything really wrong with me.. there also may be the chance that i was 1. of really low support needs, ergo no one clocked it as so until i was sorta singled out as a weirdo in school 2. subconsciously masked or . like. something. as i kept getting told my interests and other mannerisms were weird. it may also be my OCD and anxiety. which coincidentally have high co-occurance/comorbidity with autism. chat is it over

October 6th
Prompt: Undead🧟
Roxy would do just about anything to keep her witchy cover from being blown, even if it meant not telling Jo that her New Town High co-star was a simulacrum - a very well-put-together one at that.
Considering she had only read about them, often hearing a few tales from her father and his warlock buddies, she just chalked the simulacrum's heterochromatic eyes and slightly slanted posture to the NTH make-up team. That, and she had only ever seen celebrity Ellis Bonecall on TV, playing Desmond Gloomvine opposite Jo's Rachel Blesse and Jett's Drake Steel. It was only now, standing by the refreshment table at the New Town High mid-season wrap-party, that the girl noticed the aura of magical stitches holding many of his body parts together.
Since Kendall couldn't make it (he was grounded after fighting with Katie), Jo had invited her best friend to meet her fellow cast members and poke around the set.
Of course, the young witch jumped at the opportunity; Just because the show got so much wrong about the supernatural didn't mean she didn't enjoy watching it. However, the casting directors would probably be incredibly pleased to know they had gotten one thing correct... Their choice to cast Ellis as their Frankenstein-type character.
Who better to play the role than the real deal?
Since she was the star of the show, Jo was being pulled in every which way by her fellow cast members, leaving her plus one alone in the back of the large studio set. Naturally, Roxy had gravitated toward the food, where she ended up accidentally bumping into Ellis as they both went to grab the last cupcake.
"Oh, sorry," Ellis apologized, voice sounding as though it was too old for his body. "Go ahead."
That should have been her first clue, and the second came moments later as she also apologized, glancing up into his brown and blue eyes.
"No, please!" The witch insisted, beginning to feel as though she had touched a balloon as the hair on her arms and neck stood. That was normally a sign her body detected magic, gravitating toward the source; Third clue. "This party is for the New Town High cast, not their friends..."
As she stepped back, the boy held his hands up in defense. Wiggling his fingers playfully caused his skin to reflect some of the light from the fluorescents hanging above them, giving the witch a quick flash of silvery magic stitches holding most of his fingers to his palm, and his elbows to the rest of his arm. "Really... You'll probably save me anyway. My mom hates it when I have sugar." Before she could stop herself, Roxy quipped, "Well, just because she created you doesn't mean she gets to control you."
That sounded mostly normal, but the way his brows shot up at her choice of words alerted her to the fact that if she could sense his supernatural aura, he could probably detect hers as well.
Trying to save herself from an awkward introduction, she laughed a bit, and that seemed to calm Ellis down. "I've heard just about all the Sabrina the Teenage Witch jokes myself... And you don't have to worry, I'm not here to bust you. Just a teen, like you, trying to make it in this industry."
"Ah, I knew there was something different about you, Sabrina Spellman. And don't you worry either, your secret is safe with me."

Zika, chikungunya and co-occurrence in Brazil: space-time clusters and associated environmental–socioeconomic factors
Chikungunya and Zika have been neglected as emerging diseases. This study aimed to analyze the space-time patterns of their occurrence and co-occurrence and their associated environmental and socioeconomic factors. Univariate (individually) and multivariate (co-occurrence) scans were analyzed for 608,388 and 162,992 cases of chikungunya and Zika, respectively. These occurred more frequently in the summer and autumn. The clusters with the highest risk were initially located in the northeast, dispersed to the central-west and coastal areas of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro (2018–2021), and then increased in the northeast (2019–2021). Chikungunya and Zika demonstrated decreasing trends of 13% and 40%, respectively, whereas clusters showed an increasing trend of 85% and 57%, respectively. Clusters with a high co-occurrence risk have been identified in some regions of Brazil. High temperatures are associated with areas at a greater risk of these diseases. Chikungunya was associated with low precipitation levels, more urbanized environments, and places with greater social inequalities, whereas Zika was associated with high precipitation levels and low sewage network coverage. In conclusion, to optimize the surveillance and control of chikungunya and Zika, this study’s results revealed high-risk areas with increasing trends and priority months and the role of socioeconomic and environmental factors.

* does a little dance into ur lovely little askbox * hi! any ideas 4 things a system with high co-conciousness/good internal comm can do as a group 2 bond? we already play a turn based strategy game together but want MOAR things 2 do together! tysm! ^_^
Ooh fun! We love this! I’m in a QPR with a member of my system (hi kip hehe :3) and here’s some stuff we like to do together!
Make a nest/cuddle puddle with pillows, plushies, and blankets!
Go cloud gazing and take turns saying what you think different clouds look like!
Watch a movie together! To make it more personal each system member can pick a character to rag on/root for :3
Write! We always love to read works that were a collaborative effort by system members. If y’all are pretty creative, then maybe try drawing or making comics together!
Dance, move, or make music together! It’s fun when we’re dancing to see what moves and styles are impacted by certain headmates >w<
We’re autistic, and stacking/categorizing/organizing stuff is an activity we can do together that’s fun for everyone! (We keep some plastic cups handy for this specific purpose lol)
In that same autism vein, if one of y’all has a special interest, maybe take some other headmates on a tour or deep dive!
Try setting up a PluralKit or SimplyPlural account together!
Take turns playing and spectating any sort of video game y’all enjoy! It doesn’t have to be just turn based games in order for y’all to take turns!
Make a card/gift or do something nice for a headmate who’s not fronting so you can catch them by surprise hehe >:V
These are just a few ideas and are really the tip of the iceberg of stuff you can do with your headmates while co-con! Toby answered an ask about doing co-con stuff with littles a while back, and you can check out that post here.
Hopefully this has given y’all a few ideas to get started! Good luck with everything, and have a great day! >w<

How does the outer solar wind affect our atmosphere and life on earth? For about 4.5 billion years we have been receiving the plasma jet of the sun in varying intensities. We've done well so far, but we shouldn't dare spoil it with our hitherto sloppy handling of our air environment. High CO², the densification of our atmosphere is not only warming our climate, it does not mean that the densification of the atmosphere is the same all around our planet. The consequences have not yet been fully explored. like a mediocre episode of the original run of Clone High co-written by Ralph Bakshi without any of the political insight, and with even more animated tits. like an even more misogynistic and loser version of Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog (although at least this one is a little more self-aware than that one, but the self-awareness is mostly just trying to lazily mask the laziness), and just like that show, so many songs go harder than they need to (a crime Velvet von Black and the Nazi Zombie songs aren't streaming anywhere). Rob Zombie at his most racist, and his most homophobic, and displaying his most vapid teenager-storytelling instincts. Rosario Dawson, sweetie, i'm so sorry that white man made you say this shit. somehow the nazi zombies are the best part of this, outside of Tom Kenny's Otto. missing the most crucial element of Zombie's art to me: his empathy. probably be fun to people who enjoy the quality and level of jokes in the Deadpool movies, but that's not me. cannot believe Rob released this in the same year as Halloween II.

Glyburide & Metformin HCl (Generic Glucovance)
Glyburide and Metformin HCl, sold under the generic name Glucovance, is a combination oral medication used to manage Type 2 Diabetes. This drug combines two different mechanisms to help control blood sugar levels:
Glyburide: A sulfonylurea that stimulates the pancreas to produce more insulin.
Metformin HCl: A biguanide that decreases glucose production in the liver and improves the body’s insulin sensitivity.
This combination makes Glucovance particularly effective for patients whose blood sugar levels are not adequately controlled by either Glyburide or Metformin alone. By utilizing two methods of action, Glucovance helps lower blood sugar levels more efficiently and provides a comprehensive approach to diabetes management.
For those seeking affordable diabetes medications, DiRx offers Glyburide and Metformin HCl (Generic Glucovance) at competitive prices. You can purchase it easily online without the need for insurance from DiRx.
How Does Glyburide & Metformin HCl Work?
Glyburide and Metformin HCl work together to regulate blood sugar in the following ways:
Glyburide stimulates the pancreas to release more insulin, which is essential for transporting sugar from the bloodstream into cells.
Metformin HCl reduces the amount of glucose produced by the liver and increases insulin sensitivity, meaning that the body can use insulin more effectively.
This dual-action approach helps improve blood sugar control in patients with Type 2 Diabetes, reducing the risk of complications such as heart disease, kidney issues, and nerve damage.

I can only really speak for ADHD because it's the only disorder (THAT I KNOW ABOUT) that I have, but even then, there's a lot to talk about with it.
I've always found it saddening how much ADHD is reduced to "oh they're just hyper and disruptive" as if there aren't some seriously debilitating aspects of its countless symptoms.
Take for example, Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria, or RSD for short. This is a greatly increased sensitivity towards perceived rejection. Things like not being included for group activities, or even something like not being somebody's first choice to ask for help. Obviously, as is the nature of ADHD it varies from person to person, but it is no exaggeration to say that RSD can be devastating to someone's ability to form meaningful relationships. And this is putting aside that, in the cases where they know they have ADHD, they already have a potential source of feeling alienated from their peers.
The other huge source of difficulty for most people with ADHD, at least from my understanding, is executive dysfunction. This is where the disorder goes from slightly disruptive to outright destructive to a person's ability to take care of themself. ADHD can make even the most basic of tasks a huge struggle, because the act of starting that task becomes incredibly difficult. From things like doing laundry, dishes, general maintenance stuff, to hugely important assignments for school or work, ADHD can make even the smallest task painfully daunting.
I'll stop there, but I implore anyone who read this and went "Oh, I didn't know that" to go and do some research. Obviously my perspective on ADHD is inherently biased and might not apply to someone else with the disorder. But it's important to keep an open mind with these things. I didn't even mention things like the extremely addictive personality that is exploited by predatory marketing practices like FOMO and preying on gambling addictions, or the fact that ADHD has a high co-morbidity rate with other conditions like anxiety and depression.
ADHD is not something you can explain in three sentences, and anyone who believes otherwise has no idea what they're talking about.
i feel like a lot of people don't take ADHD/ADD as seriously because they water it down to the quirky hyper disorder when in reality it's so much more grueling and crushing then what others think. to the point is affects your physical health.
The same can be said with OCD, "ohhh don't you like, want to clean things and keep them neat constantly haha" it's more than that, it's genuine compulsions and thoughts that actually consume your life but nobody is ready to take it seriously unless you have these disorders yourself.

The Complete Guide to LED Display Rentals: Lighting Government, Hospitals, and Event Locations
Keeping ahead of the curve in communication is absolutely critical in the visually-driven, fast-paced society of today. Whether you're planning a government function, running a busy hospital's communications, or throwing a lavish gala, one tool has always proved its value: LED displays.
LED displays have transformed our communication by their sharp, vivid images and unmatched adaptability. These digital wonders abound, from sleek indoor configurations to massive outdoor advertising. However, owning such technology is not always practical. Enter LED display rentals—an affordable, flexible solution that delivers the full power of modern display technology without long-term investment.
But what exactly makes an LED display the ideal choice for governments, hospitals, and temporary events? Why rent rather than buy? Let’s dive in by understanding the nuances, benefits, and game-changing potential of these brilliant screens.
Problem: Communication Gaps in High-Stakes Environments
In all fields—government, healthcare, events—communication is essential. Still, all too often the conventional approaches just fall short. Not only are obsolete digital displays, static posters, or worse paper-based systems ineffective; they also lack the impact required to grab attention.
Imagine this:
In a government setting, a mayor is delivering a groundbreaking speech at a city hall rally, but the crowd can't clearly see or hear due to inadequate visual aids.
In a hospital, critical emergency information, room updates, or even public health announcements are lost in the hustle and bustle because the screens used are outdated and poorly positioned.
Your brand spends thousands on the venue and décor at a corporate event, but without excellent visual displays, the presentations are boring and forgettable.
These communication breakdowns are more than just annoyances; they can cause uncertainty, inefficiency, and, worst-case compromise of public safety.
Agitation: The Consequences of Falling Behind
Now think about the consequences of these communication gaps.
In a government setting, inadequate communication tools can cause confusion and chaos during elections, public rallies, or press conferences. A municipality might host a large event, but the small, outdated digital signs can’t be read beyond a few meters. This results in disengaged audiences and missed opportunities to convey important messages.
In hospitals, the stakes are even higher. Patient information, critical updates, or real-time health statistics may not reach staff and visitors in time, especially in large medical complexes. Lack of clear displays could result in slower response times, poor patient experience, and in extreme cases, medical errors.
It creates a bad impression when attendees cannot clearly view what is being shown—or worse, when images seem out of current. Diminished attendee engagement, a bad user experience, and possible financial loss as the event falls short of expectations follow from this as well.
The audience is left underwhelmed, uninformed, or, worse, misled without top-notional display technology. This is where LED display screens can shine—both literally and figuratively.
Solution: The Rise of LED Display Rentals
Now, here’s the exciting part—these challenges can be easily overcome with the brilliance and flexibility of display LED Screen Rentals by Jona LED. Renting LED displays provides an instant, high-impact solution that fits a range of needs for government communications, hospital infrastructure, business and social events.
Why Do LED Displays Work so Well?
Particularly bright and energy-efficient, LED (Light Emitting Diode) technology is well known for creating incredibly vivid, high-definition images. But it's not only about looks; these exhibits are quite useful for clearly presenting data. Here is the rationale:
Even in strong sunshine, LED screens provide high contrast ratios, so producing clearer and more readable content. This guarantees, independent of the surroundings, easy visibility of important data.
Whether used indoors or outside, LED displays can be tailored in size, shape, and resolution, so fitting for a variety of uses—from small-scale indoor configurations to large-scale outdoor signage.
Designed to last longer and resist many environmental conditions, LED technology is well-known for its durability and liveness. LED displays keep running without degrading image quality rain or shine.
Long-term cost-effectiveness of LED screens is derived from their much lower power consumption than conventional display technologies.
Why Renting LED Displays Makes Sense Economically? Purchasing an LED display could be overkill for many businesses, particularly if it's just for a transient event. Renting provides the ideal way to access modern technologies free from the high cost of ownership.
Rental choices give flexibility in terms of size, type, and length of time. You can customize the rental to fit your particular requirements whether your public gathering calls for a large outdoor LED wall or a set of indoor screens for the patient monitoring system of a hospital.
Renting relieves the responsibility of upkeep of the equipment. Usually offering full service, rental companies make sure the screens are correctly installed, maintained, and removed following events.
Renting an LED display gets you the complete package—delivery, installation, and technical support. Whether for a last-minute hospital upgrade or a spontaneous press conference, this is absolutely vital when time is of the essence.
LED Displays in Government: Elevating Public Communication
Government functions often revolve around mass communication—whether for community rallies, elections, public announcements, or large-scale conferences. LED display for Government by Jona LED ensures that messages are conveyed with clarity and impact.
Case Study: The Power of LED Displays in a Political Rally
Imagine a recent municipal election where a candidate held a public gathering on a crowded city square using a rented LED display. With more than 10,000 attendees, the planners understood that maintaining the audience's interest and knowledge was absolutely vital.
The campaign broadcast poll results, aired live speeches, and showed campaign messages using a 20-foot outside LED screen. The vivid screen allowed even those at the back of the crowd to have an immersive experience, while interactive visuals encouraged higher engagement.
The result? The candidate successfully connected with a larger, more engaged audience, and the event was heralded as a breakthrough in political campaigning. It showed how LED displays might magnify the reach of a message, so providing both literal and symbolic visibility.
LEDs in Hospitals: An Essential Tool for Patient Care
Hospitals are busy places where dependable, quick, clear communication is absolutely necessary. LED display for hospitals by Jona LED can be quite helpful for staff, patients, and visitors equally in simplifying communication.
Case Study: LED Displays Improving Hospital Efficiency
Patient flow and information distribution were problems for a big city hospital. The antiquated signage system of the hospital failed in guiding guests, and delays in displaying real-time data were aggravating inefficiencies in patient treatment.
The hospital set up real-time information screens in important locations including the emergency department, waiting rooms, and lobbies by leasing a run of LED displays. Clear and simple reading style allowed the screens to show patient updates, emergency alarms, and health statistics. Visitors could easily navigate through the hospital, and staff had a central hub to display and update critical information instantly.
The results were immediate: staff reported faster response times, patient satisfaction increased due to the clear directions, and visitors found the overall experience much smoother. It’s an ideal example of how LED technology can transform a complex environment like a hospital into a more efficient, safer space.
LED Display for Rent: Revolutionizing Events
From trade exhibits to weddings, events are about producing unforgettable experiences. LED screens provide an interesting stage for businesses, brands, and people to have influence.
Case Study: LED Displays Lighting Up a Corporate Event
A tech company had to present its newest product line in a way that would be distinctive in the packed exhibition hall at a recent international trade show. The company rented several LED displays instead of depending on conventional banners or printed images.
These screens were arranged strategically throughout their booth, playing dynamic videos, running product demos, and even incorporating live social media feeds from attendees. The vibrant LED visuals drew in the crowds, who were captivated by the clear, dynamic content.
Compared to neighboring booths that used traditional methods, the company’s booth saw a significant increase in foot traffic, which directly translated into better leads and higher sales conversions. The rental cost of the LED displays more than paid off by elevating the brand’s visibility and customer engagement.
Important advantages of renting LED displays
High Impact at Low-cost: Renting allows you to access first-rate technology without making a large upfront cost. For temporary installations or short-term events especially, this is quite helpful.
Customizable for Every Need: Whether it’s an outdoor political rally or an indoor hospital setting, LED displays can be rented in any size or configuration to meet specific requirements.
Ease of Use: Renting an LED display means you also get expert installation and support. This ensures the display works flawlessly throughout the event or campaign.
Improved Audience Participation: LED displays grab viewers with their vivid images and real-time features, so improving the effectiveness of your communication.
Conclusion: Illuminate Your Message with LED Display Rentals
In the world of today, when communication is everything, it is imperative to use the correct instruments to grab attention and properly transmit ideas. LED display rentals by Jona LED give the flexibility, clarity, and wow factor you need to create an impact whether your event is unforgettable, running a government function, or managing hospital operations.
LED displays make sure your message is not only seen but remembered with their exceptional brightness, customizing choices, and reasonably priced rental plans. The future is bright—literally—and renting LED displays is your ticket to a dazzling, more connected world.
Let your next event, hospital communication system, or public announcement truly shine. Renting an LED display lets you invest in a potent tool that vividly brings your message to life rather than just a screen.
