Shameless Fanfic Promo 2

Hello, my lovelies! It's been a while since I've visited this place but I haven't gone anywhere. Over the past few years, I've been writing nonstop and in the process, added six additional fics to my little library. I've expanded my subject matter, experimented with main topics other than romance, and even explored a ship other than Taekook/Taegi (I'm still shocked by that actually, lol).

Long story short, I'm here to share my newest works with you. If there's anything that catches your eye, just click the link included at the end of every synopsis. Pay attention to the tags when you get there. Much love to you all. Enjoy!

1. Seven Little Boyscouts (Taekook) Completed

Summary: Sometimes things buried in the past get unearthed...

I'm an avid reader and my poison is horror/mystery, so of course I had to try my hand at it. This fic is homage to one of my favorite authors ever: Agatha Christie. Her mystery novel, And Then There Were None is one of my favorite stories of all-time so I took the premise but put my own spin on it. This fic has a little bit of everything--romance, angst, murder, supernatural elements; there's a lot of death and it'll keep you guessing up until the end. It's an OT7 story for the most part and there are several relationships but the main pairing is Taekook. If you don't mind reading about the boys get picked off one-by-one by a mysterious killer, this is perfect for you. I guarantee you'll be entertained. You can read it here.

2. Vandal City Vengeance (Taegi) Completed

Summary: Suga, the ace hitman of the Vandal City Assasins Association (VCAA) is this close to earning his freedom and reuniting with his long-estranged younger brother when his name unwittingly appears on the hit list. With the aid of a private investigator--the eccentric, enigmatic, and irresistible Kim Taehyung--he sets out to destroy the company who burned him and hopefully save his precious brother from the auction block.

I'm a HUGE anime fan and this fic was born after I watched Hakata Tonkotsu Ramens. I don't know why but as I was watching, I visualized Taegi in the roles of the protagonists and BOOM! I don't know why, it just fit. This was my first attempt at writing action and I have to be honest, things get a little violent and bloody. It's an entirely different take for me but damn did I love writing it, hehe. Picture this: cocky ass, cross-dressing, knife-wielding, emotionless assassin Suga falling in love for the very first time with superhuman, mysterious, heroic, head-over-heels detective Taehyung. And they kill a shitload of people along the way. Tell me that's not appealing, lol. You can read it here.

3. The Loophole (Taegi) Completed

Summary: Yoongi is blindsided when Taehyung ends their 5-year relationship suddenly without warning. Although his boyfriend is adamant about breaking up and lists reason upon reason, Yoongi can't help thinking that there's more to the story...mainly because Taehyung is lying through his teeth.

This fic was one of two Valentine's Day offerings, so while it's angsty, it's also the fluffiest incarnation of Taegi I've ever written. The plot is basic as hell: rich man and poor man fall in love, but the rich man's family doesn't approve. Yes, it's simple and unoriginal but I guarantee you, the story is none of those things. You get pulled in from the very first chapter and become invested in the Taegi relationship. You will cry a little, curse a lot, squeal in delight, and there will be no escaping the fluttering in your heart--you will feel everything. Taegi in this fic is relationship goals and it's the loveliest feeling watching sacrifice and fight with all their might to be together. 4. Obviously Oblivious (95z/Vmin) Completed

Summary: Though there are plenty of hardships and surprises to overcome, Taehyung and Jimin are determined to be together at all costs. Will the two lovers get their happily ever after? If they have any say in it, fuck yes.

This was the second of two Valentine's Day offerings and is the first Vmin fic I ever wrote. It happened because in one of my other fics, Alone Together, I couldn't give them a happy ending (it was endgame Taekook and Jimin's love for Taehyung was unrequited). I had to give the soulmates a shot at happiness and I think I accomplished it. Imagine two best friends who are secretly in love with each other finally confessing to each other after several misunderstandings, but still unable to be together because of certain circumstances, lol. Their friendship and love for each other are beautiful and spoiler alert: Vmin as parents (not mpreg tho)! 5. Of Stains and Shadows (Taegikook) Ongoing

Summary: Taehyung, Yoongi, and Jungkook are as devoted to each other as ever. Taegi are happy in their engagement and Jungkook is their biggest supporter, but their bond is about to be severely tested. It's been said that secrets have a way of making their presence felt even before you know they exist. Our trio is about to find out firsthand exactly how accurate that is...

When hidden truths unearth themselves from shadow and lies become permanent stains on the soul, will Yoongi, Taehyung, and Jungkook be able to endure it all, or will the future they've fought for remain out of reach? Will their family survive the turmoil or crumble into a fine dust?

This fic is the sequel to my first and most popular fic, My Rock or My Hard Place. I was hesitant to write it because the OG ended so well but I felt some type of way about Jungkook being alone. I also had more things I wanted to expound on or settle--Taehyung's parents and their tragic past, Kim Taesuk getting what he deserved, Hoseok's unsettled beef with Yoonkook, and of course, the Taegikook relationship. Most readers were happy with the ending of MRoMHP but there was a small contingent that was sad that it couldn't be Taegikook endgame and I was like, What would happen if the threesome decided to explore that? That was all the inspiration I needed. I'm nearly thirty chapters in and I'm trying my best to keep the feel of the OG but y'all know that's rare when it comes to sequels. 6. Two Weeks Notice (Taekook) Ongoing

Two complete idiots are in like with each other but...

My newest offering is only a few days old and happened because I simply missed writing my OTP, lol. There's just something about Taekook that always makes me smile and feel comforted. I love them. The story is pretty standard, boss and employee are crushing hard on each other but the boss' hesitance and nervousness lead to a huge misunderstanding. Only the first chapter is up so far, but upcoming chapters will be heartwarming fluff as Jungkook tries with all his might to clear the misunderstanding and win Taehyung's already-won heart. I'm not planning any angst at this point but I can't promise that there won't be any. I don't plan out my stories and they pretty much write themselves, so while I'm envisioning sweet gestures and romantic overtures, a gut punch might somehow sneak in there. Jungkook woke up naked on the floor with a splitting headache. He squinted against the brightness of a new day, groaning his discomfort. Every part of him hurt, literally, head-to-toe pain, but he grabbed onto the side of the bed and managed to pull himself up to his very sore feet. The room spun wickedly and a bout of nausea battled its way to the pit of his stomach as he took in the empty room.

It was an unfamiliar room but had all the characteristics of a seedy motel, so naturally, he assumed that’s where he’d ended up. He didn’t know how he got there, he couldn’t remember anything before...in fact, he couldn't remember the last thing he remembered, but he knew almost immediately that he needed to run. His instincts screamed it so loudly that he had to cover his ears. The urge of danger hit him suddenly and without mercy; Jungkook fled to the safety of the bathroom, ears still covered and stumbling as he tripped over a sole red pump, finally locking himself in before looking around in terror.

He couldn’t shake the feeling that he wasn’t alone. He could feel other eyes on him. He glanced around the tiny, windowless bathroom and banged a fist against his temple after realizing that he should have run for the door instead. Now he was boxed in and had no idea who or what he was up against. He was helpless and there was no way out. Again, the feeling of eyes on him made him freeze. He slowly looked around the bathroom again, checking for potential hiding spaces, but there was only one feasible place in the small room that someone could hide. The shower.

The curtain was a dirty, opaque tan color and since there was no window to let in light, there was no hint of what waited behind it; no shadows or outlines to clue him in to what hid back there. He approached the curtain slowly on tiptoe with his hand stretched out. The plan was to yank the curtain back and tackle whatever or whoever was watching him. Without a weapon or anything to protect himself from harm, it was the only thing he could do.

His heart climbed into his throat, beating furiously when his fingers came in contact with the plastic-like curtain. He gripped it and took a deep breath to calm himself, but that didn’t stop his hand from shaking. In fact, his whole body trembled with nervousness. He yanked it back with a warlike yell and prepared to spring…

It was empty.

A whisper from behind…the faint trace of a perfume he knew all too well…

“No,” he said softly, shaking his head. “No, please. Whatever you're planning...”

His whole body trembled as he turned around slowly. He saw the mirror.

Steeling himself, he made his way over to the mirror hanging above the filthy sink. He nearly had a heart attack when he saw his reflection; smeared lipstick surrounded his mouth while old mascara and leaky eyeliner gave him a raccoon-eye effect. “What the fuck? What is this?” He angrily wiped at the makeup with his bare hand and read over the detailed instructions written in red lipstick there, the shade eerily similar to what he wore.

After reading it, he cursed loudly. “No," he stated strongly. "I won’t…I can’t.”

He felt a presence looming behind him but he was too afraid to look back, too afraid to meet her gaze. He shut his eyes tight, so tight that the headache he’d forgotten about reared its head and tried to split his skull in two. “Stop it. I absolutely won’t.” He shook his head and cried. “I will not.”

Open your eyes.

“No.”

Kookie...face me.

“No. I won’t do it. I won’t do this!”

You will do it, you coward. It’s for your own good.

“You can’t…you can’t make me!”

Slender fingers wound themselves through his hair and gripped it tight. Sorry, kiddo. It’s best for all of us.

He heard her gentle laughter before his head rammed hard into porcelain sink. Jungkook went back to sleep.

Shameless Fanfic Promo

I guess I forgot to mention that I’m an author on AO3 (https://archiveofourown.org/users/bangtan_brwnsuga80/works). I’m a novice, I have no idea what I’m doing and half the time I don’t even know what I’m writing until it’s done. Promoting makes me uncomfortable and I feel like I’m a burden. Ugh. But I was advised...no coerced to at least try to get more readers, despite my protest that I’m quite happy with the ones I have. So here goes...

1. My Rock or My Hard Place (Taegi/Taekook) completed

Summary: Taehyung faces a tough decision: Reclaim the long-lost love stolen from him ten years ago, or nurture the new love he has been building with someone else. A trip to Vegas with his soon-to-be boyfriend, Jungkook, leads Taehyung to his former love, Yoongi. Both men are willing to go to any lengths to win his heart, but both have pasts which threaten to ruin any chance of their happiness. Who will Taehyung choose? His dependable, loyal, soulmate and first love Yoongi? Or exciting, troubled, devoted, underdog Jungkook?

My baby. My very first fic born from a ‘what if’ question that popped up in my head late one night. What if Taehyung had to choose between two men he loved and who loved him back? Both have faults and flaws, but are also good to the core. I wanted to make it impossible to choose between them...I think I succeeded since even now after writing over 60 chapters, I still have doubts, lol. 

The story has everything because I wanted to include everything. There’s humor, fluff, gore, smut, angst, hurt/comfort...everything you can think of, it’s in there. You will laugh, cry, throw shit, punch walls, possibly touch yourself??? I don’t know, it just draws you in and then you get stuck. It’s super long too. 2. Alone Together (Taekook) completed

Summary: Getting stood up turns out to be a blessing in disguise for Jeon Jungkook.

After Taehyung finally made a choice in the aforementioned fic, things went bad. It was right around this time that we lost our dear Kim Jonghyun (Shinee) and I went into a depressive state. MRoMHP began to reflect my mood and to combat all of the bad, I came up with this fic. It’s super sweet, cheesy, romantic, and the fluffiest of fluf; the complete opposite of the other fanfic. It got so fluffy that I had to throw in a little angst to keep from throwing up, lol. 3. Still Doll (Vhope) completed

Summary: Hoseok is still reeling from a traumatic loss and desperately struggles to find a way to escape his grief while also clinging to it. Taehyung is trapped in a relationship from hell and wants nothing more than to be free, but is giving up his first true love worth that freedom? Two lost souls find each other at their lowest point in life...can they somehow help each other bounce back?

‘Alone Together’ helped a lot, but there were so many lingering bad feelings that I needed an outlet for them. This fic was born from that. It starts out with darkness, but it will gradually become brighter and inspirational as Taehyung and Hoseok find a purpose in each other. It’s just starting, but I think it has a lot of potential. Summary: If you could go back in time and change one thing, what would it be? Jungkook knows all too well what he would fix.

This was my offering for Taekook Day (April 5). I figured everyone would post lovey-dovey, mushy masterpieces, so I stuck to what I knew...hurt, grit, pain, but always love. Also, it’s my only work that is completely in third person POV. I usually switch back and forth depending on the focus of the chapter, but since it’s short...meh. Dear all,

First, allow me to thank once more the genius Mr. Bang, Big Hit and BTS for giving me and my company the historic opportunity of supporting BTS in the US for the past few years.

I am very proud of what we have all achieved and of BTS’ recent success in the US.

Working with all of you was a dream that one can only wish for. I had the honor of introducing BTS to the US audience through some of the biggest TV shows in the world: The American music awards, The Ellen show, Late Night Show with Jimmy Kimmel, New York’s Rocking Eve with Ryan Seacrest and the Late Late Night with James Corden. I was able to connect the band with some of the biggest and most important artists of this century including The Chainsmokers, Halsey, Steve Aoki, Fallout boy, Desiigner and many others as well as A&R the remix of Mic Drop which broke records this year and became a gold record recently. I am also proud to lead the promotion of ‘DNA’ (which also achieved gold status) to top 40 radio in the US; a Korean language record which paved the way for the band’s top 40 radio acceptance as well as play-listing in platforms such as Apple and Spotify.

My team and I were also able to secure top press looks for the band including the recent cover of Billboard, a Rolling Stone feature story, New York Times and much more.

None of this was possible without the support of BTS’ army, who is the most loyal and committed fan base out there that any band could dream of. Days and night, through and through millions of fans supported these efforts as well as many other efforts and initiatives globally.

I believe that my job is done here, and now it’s in the hands of the band, the label and Army to continue and grow the success this year and years to come.

To me this success symbolizes much more than just the success of the band.

It shows that America is ready and open to adopt artists from all over the world, and that more than ever, the young generation here in America and all over the world is looking for authentic art without prejudice or limits. It shows that the music industry is a global industry now and represents the world in its entirety both east and west.

I left music creation 9 years ago with the mission to bring peace to this world through Music’s ability to connect us as one.

It is my legacy and my life’s dedication to continue to bring peace and peacefulness to the world through music.

I’m humbled beyond words and grateful to all the great people in my life, my family, my team and my friends from all over the world.

Mysterious and Promising: Red Night AU May Be the Next Big Hit

Another entry into the BTS interactive game AU realm blazes its way to the forefront on Twitter...Red Night has all the makings of ARMY’s next big trend, but it all depends on how much support we as a fandom give it. Why should I support it? you may wonder. What in the hell is ‘Red Night’ anyway? you might ask...here’s a little sneak preview:

Interesting, right? I know I’m all in already since mystery and horror are two of my favorite genres. Not much information is available right now because it’s just starting out. The first poll is up to determine which mystery night we will view first. Since Kim Taehyung is my UB, of course, I voted to see his story first, hehehehe. But I’m super excited to see each mystery unfold as our boys and ARMYs pull together in an effort to SAVE PARK JIMIN.

The author explains that in this fictional AU readers will determine not only the order each mystery appears but the extent to how much information is revealed. Based on our decisions, information can be left out and lost or we can reveal hidden secrets. What do I think about it?

I’m stoked! The plot is solid and alluring; it drew me in even though the story hasn’t started yet. It sounds like a good time already, doesn’t? I have so many questions...

Why was Jimin taken when he’s a whole angel made up of unicorn happy tears, babies laughing, and puppy cuddles?

Is he safe, healthy, whole wherever he’s being held captive?

If the other six will all play a part in saving Jimin, who in the hell took him?

What exactly are these ‘events’ we have to solve and why are they necessary for Jimin’s rescue?

Is there a snake amongst the seven?

Hmm...it gets curiouser and curiouser the more I think about it. I recommend you hop aboard this train before it leaves the station, while it’s just beginning so you won’t miss out on any of the fun. It seems like another opportunity to unite again as a fandom, nay, family and work together to rescue our precious Park Jimin from danger.

It is for these very reasons that I chose unsync. 

1. the reason why i chose unsync: hoseok was able to keep jungkook alive the first night, never used a life and he was practically in perfect condition. even if the intensity for him was increased, why when they synced did hoseok suddenly suck ass? like yoongi is out here making all kinds of dumbass choices and still managed to get jimin out (granted jimin was damn near dead but he made it out) and even if the intensity was increased for hoseok.

2. why did the responsibility of saving jungkook start to fall on yoongi? cause the ‘game’ was asking yoongi to make choices in order to help jungkook that didn’t make sense. hoseok asked yoongi to give his last life to help jungkook when he had all three of his lives. you could say it was him trying to be conservative but why ask yoongi for help when you have more lives? he has just one, and jimin is about to fucking die like??

3. JM was in a worse state than JK yet HS was willing to ask him for that life like YG didn’t need it?? also HS’s behavior when YG was first starting the game was weird. he went from being unsure if the game is safe to telling yoongi ‘trust the game, hyung’ HS WENT FROM BEING SUSPECT TO LOWKEY ENCOURAGING HIM TO PLAY THE FUCKING GAME THEN WHEN THEY FINALLY SYNC UP, HS IS SUDDENLY IGNORING YG’S REQUESTS FOR HELP, ASKING YG FOR HELP HE KNOWS THAT YG CANT GIVE HIM, SEEMINGLY MAKING DELIBERATE ATTEMPTS TO ENDANGER JK SO YG WILL GET PROMPTS TO ATTEMPT AND HELP HIM

ksjadhklfjhaklsfdhksjh YOUR SECOND POINT WAS MY BIGGEST REASONING BEHIND CHOOSING UNSYNC!!!! He really is acting so so suspicious! I don’t trust that boy. You’re really invested in this it seems, far more than I am haha it’s fascinating, don’t feel afraid to come forth and rant about more theories to me! I love to read.

“Trust the game, hyung” also rung ominous tones to me when I was reading, he was basically contradicting his prior statement to Yoongi saying NOT to trust any games and be safe.

BTS Outcast AU: The Hype is Justified

So, the hashtag #btsoutcast made Twitter its bitch hours ago and there are a lot of people who still don’t know what’s going on. Whether you’re just waking up to it, or you’re just not active on Twitter, I’m here to catch you up on what you’re missing out on...trust me, you’re missing out on a lot.

Outcast is an AU created by username @flirtaus in which Hoseok and Yoongi encounter a game that becomes all too real...or does it? Check out this fanmade trailer:

Awesome, right? The beauty of the AU is that the characters in the game are controlled by the protagonists of the story, but their decisions are guided by us readers. It’s like inception without sleeping. Through polls and interactions with the creator, the readers are allowed involvement and input that isn’t allowed in typical fanfictions and AUs. 

Additionally, the storyline is gripping and complex. There is no real way to tell what is really going on. Are the characters in the game really the people who have gone missing, or is it just a game? It’s up to you, the reader, to figure it all out. Recommendation

In all honesty, it’s addictive and it’s creative. It’s spawned countless theories, memes, gifs, and fanart submissions within the hours it has existed...hell, it even has its own trailer and was last seen trending worldwide at #1. It’s also connected the entire fandom so if you want to make friends, this is to time to go on an adding spree. My phone is currently glued to my hand waiting for an update, lol. You will be anxious and you will love every minute of it as you unwittingly become a part of the story.

IMHO: Fic Review #1

The Past Comes Quietly for All by anotherstorymustbegin

Disclaimer: This is my personal opinion as a reader.

As soon as it was recommended, I went to search it up...I was not disappointed. The fic has a unique concept and immediately captured my interest. I refuse to spoil it too much...just know that Yoongi thinks he has figured out how to stop a sad perpetual recurrence.  

Likes: The author incorporates Korean history into the story, and does so quite well. The characterizations are solid, so good in fact that I’ve already established a connection with the group. The story is intriguing right from the start. It isn’t overly worded or descriptive therefore you can just slip into the reality the characters are living in. 

Dislikes: My only complaint is that I want more, lol. It’s only two chapters in and the author hasn’t specified an update schedule so there’s no way to know for sure when the next chapter will come. :(

I’m deeply invested already and I’m lowkey mad that I could only give an 8 for the EL, but it’s still so early in the story. Still, I suggest you jump in early so that you don’t have to play catch-up...unless you like reading only completed fics. But I assure you the writer is talented and the story is exceptional. .

10...no 15...no 20 and that’s final! Taekook and Taegi fanfics on AO3 that I love.

First post ever and it’s long af, lol. I’ve been a guest reader for a long time on AO3, but finally joined the site last January, which makes it a year since I joined...and oh what a great year it has been. I just wanted to share some of the great Taekook and Taegi fics I’ve stumbled upon. 

Taekook has been my OTP since 2013, but in 2016 I became obsessed with syubology’s Just Skin (http://archiveofourown.org/works/4558008) and I’ve been shipping Taegi hard ever since. Although I read a lot fanfic from a lot of fandoms, BTS is the one I read most and it’s usually Taekook and Taegi since they’re my favorite pairings.

So, about the list...I have 23 pages of subscribed works and it was hard picking and choosing the ones I wanted to include. I started with ten, then moved up to fifteen, then had to move up to twenty...if I keep adding I’ll end up with hundreds of stories, lol. Maybe I’ll do a part two so that I can include the authors and works I missed because there are so many good fics for both couples.
