So you’re probably all wondering: “What’s goin on this time?”

Yes, I have posted stuff explaining why both me and Mod Greyscale haven’t been answering/responding to your requests, but it’s still no excuse to NEVER answer them at all. 

Several asks have been sitting in our inbox for probably months now, and I feel really bad and guilty for not doing anything because they’re pretty much all for me. The reason for me not ever answering them is because I want to take care of myself mentally and emotionally- and life is an asshole and is really fucking shit up for me (sorry for the swears; they don’t really match the aesthetic of this blog lol).

But, I don’t want to just leave this blog alone and throw it away. I still have a type of attachment to it, y’know? So here’s the deal.

I want to open up Mod positions to some of you guys. 

Mod Greyscale really wants to focus more on her personal and emotional life so she’s thinking of giving up her Mod position, meaning I’d be the only Mod here. And I’m also incredibly (and horrifyingly) inconsistent with clearing up this inbox.

So I want to ask if any of you who also experience synesthesia would like to become a Mod on this blog. 

All you have to do is dm me @yoohoo-choccy-milk (which is my main blog btw) and tell me what sort of synesthesia you experience and I’ll ask you a couple more questions to see if I think you’re suited to be a Mod! I’m looking for people who have more time to answer things from the inbox, so please please please dm me if you’re interested!!

I’m not sure how many people I’ll accept, so I’ll probably post something else to say that requests for a Mod position are closed. I really hope I get some sort of response to this, and once again I’m really sorry for not answering in so long! 

I still really love this blog and you guys so I’m not giving up on it!

What about the name Taavi?

Colors: A beautiful blend of blues and greens~ It’s serene almost– looks like the ocean in a way.

Personality: Sweet and genuine, this person is one someone can be envious of in terms of how positively people regard them. Because of their kindness, they’re typically surrounded by people who aspire to be like them: successful and well-liked. They are also incredibly humble, which could be considered a good thing or a bad; though they do not boast or brag, it is easy for someone else to take advantage of them because of this. They only have a select few they would call their close friends, but they appreciate everyone who sees them as an inspiration, as that’s all they hope and wish to be~

Visual aesthetic: Elegant peacocks and golden crowns with vibrant jewels. Polished stained glass windows and maps of the solar system drawn on a high ceiling. The sounds of clacking shoes echoing through an empty chapel, and natural light reflecting off of the blue-green waters. Fish with rainbow like scales, and the wondrous feeling of peace.

Blue

Colors: It starts off as a pretty sky blue, but then hints of lavender begin to flicker in and out– as well as white! 

Personality: Bubbly and cheerful, they have a smile that light up the room! People enjoy being in their company, especially when they need someone to cheer them up. Though they’re typically energetic, they still have a softer and more timid side to them as well. They’re very in touch with their inner self and can find peace rather easily– something people around them may be rather envious of. Overall, they are wonderful to be around if you’re looking for a breath of fresh air. :)

Visual aesthetic: Silk ribbons and dark brown hair pulled into a loose and messy braid. Small flowers tucked behind one‘s ear and clovers scattered on the top of someone’s head. Soft hands and glossy lips. Passionate expressions, and closed eyes– deep in thought.

Green

Colors: A very very vibrant green– nearly neon, but not harsh on the eyes. Enough to catch attention, but uninteresting at the same time. Spots of forest green show up, but they’re also gone rather quickly.

Personality: Rather stone-faced and unemotional, it’s difficult to tell what they’re thinking. Though outwardly, they look uninterested and composed, they’re actually rather shy and awkward, preferring to stay quiet and watch from the sidelines. They have a passion for logical thinking, but are always unopposed to hearing others’ opinions as people actually genuinely fascinate them. They aren’t exactly the type you’d think of to be a friend, but despite their preference to be unsocial, they’re pretty loyal and kind.

Visual aesthetic: Vibrant green eyes and intense stares. Naturally curly hair and slender fingers. Pretty looking agendas and colorful gel pens. Neat looking notes and black thick-framed glasses. Unsociable cats and lazy afternoons.

Colors: A gradient of dark grey-blue to a very light baby blue! It’s elegant looking, reminding me of silk~

Personality: Very calm and quiet, they have a very tame personality– one that typically isn’t noticed at all. They’re usually unseen by others because of their lowkey personality, and finding friends may be difficult for them. Despite being somewhat invisible to society, they’re very generous and compassionate, and exceptionally loyal to those who are their friends. They’re very sensitive and emotional, and can have their heart broken easily if someone they thought they were close to decided to leave them alone. Truly, they need comfort and all the blanket hugs in the world :(

Visual aesthetic: Morning dew, stuck on blades and grass and green leaves. The minutes before the sun peeks out over the horizon– the sky still darkened, but the earth slowly becoming visible to the human eye again. Fireflies flickering in the woods, looking more like blinking, watching eyes. Gossamer spider webs, and silk ribbons trailing in the wind. The leaves of a weeping willow tree grazing the surface of a lake, disturbing its stillness and creating ripples.

Hello! I'm the anon that wants to start an association blog. I cleaned up and changed around an old blog I never used and made it to be my new blog, it's designing-catastrophy I would like to thank you guys as well for giving me advice to start this, I was super nervous (still am I guess) and your reply helped me figure out how I want to run it and the outline for everything. What does the name Kasey sound/look like to you guys?

Colors: A dandelion yellow/orange! I also see a smidge of purple/magenta, but it flickers in and out :O

Visual aesthetic: Weaving flower crowns in a green field, some time in the spring. Little, wild rabbits hopping around, and loose fitting spring floral dresses, off the shoulder. Ivory flats, and small, delicate hands. Long eyelashes and soft looking hair. Peaceful naps beneath a large oak tree, and flower petals floating gently on the surface of a lake, reflecting the sunlight gracefully.

(Ooooo that’s an interesting name :O I like it!!!)

Colors: It’s rather complicated actually– I initially see a magenta, but then it weirdly warps into a pastel green, and then a pastel blue! It’s a strange effect, but the colors are pretty nonetheless :)

Personality: They have a very mysterious and gentle personality, constantly looking off into the distance as if searching for something beyond the horizon~ They are full of curiosity! They want to find answers to their questions, and will volunteer to go on adventures if it means that some of their questions may be answered. Everything new or foreign sparks their interest, and they find true joy when immersing themself in experiments or research. However, because of their curiosity, they may find themself in situations that aren’t exactly ideal… but they know of that risk, and throw themself at their quests wholeheartedly nonetheless :)

Visual aesthetic: Elegant stained-glass windows, sunlight filtering through them and creating a rainbow of colors on the dusty floor indoors. Tall, abandoned towers and ruins, still majestic looking in the brightness of day. Sprites dancing around in an open field of vibrant flowers, and vines crawling alongside the walls of an old library in the middle of a forest.

Hello! So I have synesthesia andI want to start an association blog but I don't know what to do or where to start. Any advice?

Hi!! It’s really cool that you also wanna start an association blog :O

Some pointers as how to start– think about what you want people to request from you!! Like, what type of synesthesia do you have?? Set up some rules/guidelines that you want people to follow when they send in an ask!

Also, know your limits. I definitely overestimated how much free time I actually have when I decided to start this blog, so I’m not able to answer requests right away unfortunately (same goes for Mod Greyscale– who y’all should totally send in more requests to, since all of the asks in our inbox currently are for me ^^;;)

If you feel like you can’t run the blog by yourself, it doesn’t hurt to find someone else to help you out!! That definitely helps with the time stress of answering requests, that is if you share the same type of synesthesia.

Lastly, just some lil stuff…

When creating the blog, try to make it more appealing? As in, make sure the theme you choose is easy to navigate, and is also visually attractive~ This just might be something that I’m picky about, but I know I’m more likely to like a blog if it’s not complicated or anything. And I just like aesthetic colors lol

Really though, the thing I want to emphasize the most when starting an association blog is to know how much you can handle!!! If you get overwhelmed, it is more stressful to keep the blog running timely (something both mods of this blog realized a little late haha).

Colors: Gold!! Just straight up gold~ A shiny gradient, exactly like light shining on a gold ring!

Personality: They act just like you would expect someone with this name would- like royalty~ They’re proud of themself and know exactly who they are, not afraid of what others may say to them or criticize. Because they’re incredibly self-assured, others’ insults don’t pierce them… but it also doesn’t mean it doesn’t sting for a while. They are very emotional– driven by mood swings and the atmosphere of the room. They aren’t narcissistic or anything either, rather, they just know that they know themself better than anyone else could. They’re very kind and giving, putting others first. If someone else is hurt, they panic and will probably start crying! Honestly, they really need a hug haha

Visual aesthetic: Gold jewelry and shiny ribbons. Gentle hands and birds singing on a window sill. Books scattered on an old, wooden table, notes scrawled on paper. Colors: An imperial red! Very vibrant but still pretty to see~

Personality: Calm and mature, they have a very level head and are incredibly logical. They dislike arguments and conflict, especially when whatever is being fought over in just petty and irrelevant. They like getting to the point of things, but despite their mature and rather severe seeming character, they have a gentle heart. They feel bad when they upset others or make someone else feel inferior, always making up to them in extra ways- such as baking cookies or cupcakes as an apology. They’re rather sweet, once you get down to the core of them~ :)

Visual aesthetic: Scarlet beads and ruby rings. Red dresses and ribbons with gold trim, and red velvet cakes with marshmallow fondant designs. Vibrant colored bouquets of flowers, and shiny hairpins, embedded with diamonds. Regal stances, and warm eyeshadow colors. Loosely braided hair and beauty marks. Overall, a very elegant and royal visual aesthetic :)

I kinda only just saw this eeeeeee I'm sorry T_T

It actually doesn't really annoy me unless I hear certain names, words, or music/sounds that I have negative associations with. I'm pretty sure Luce mentioned stuff like this for her once before but it scares me to put the negative assos out there (specifically the names) so I'll just leave it at this~

Other than those though, it actually helps me with memorization. I'm really bad at remembering names by doing the whole face-to-name memorizing, so I try to utilize the synesthesia associations in a way that helps me put new people to that name. It especially helps with learning new vocab for school and such because of the taste and look of words.

So really, for me I wouldn't call it annoying since those negative associations are only because of past events and not because of synesthesia, otherwise I really like the experience I get to have!

I hope you don't mind me asking, but is your synesthesia sometimes annoying in your everyday life? If it is, can you please explain? I'm just very curious so you don't have to answer that if you don't want to.

YES. It can get quite annoying sometimes, which is actually why I decided to make this blog haha

I know for me, the colors can get kinda muddled together? I hate it when teachers do attendance because they announce everyone’s name, and BOOM there’s multiple colors coming at me!!

I’ve gotten kind of used to it though?? Since I’ve had to deal with it for so long lol

What does help though is that with different people’s voices, the strength of the colors also differs, and I’ve tried to train my brain to immediately register: teacher voice = weak colors

And surprisingly it sorta works??? But I have to mentally psyche myself up for attendance calling and such

So yeah, it does get annoying and tiresome- at least in my case!!

Colors: A very pretty midnight blue!! It’s rather dark, but really does remind me of the night sky~

Personality: They are rather reserved and quiet, so much so that can be seen as cold, rude, or mean. However, they don’t have any of those intentions– instead, they are actually quite sensitive and humble. They greatly dislike conflict, and when they’re scolded for something, no matter how insignificant it is, they will feel incredibly guilty and upset. They have a tendency to blame themself for things completely unrelated to them, no matter how many times they’re reassured by their close friends that they’re perfectly fine. They really are the innocent sort of character!!

Visual aesthetic: Star gazing, the moon shining bright and the constellations clear in the sky. Black labs and German Shepherds, resting calmly and quietly next to someone playing the acoustic guitar by a campfire. An RV parked on a hill top, just to get away from civilization and have some peace and quiet.

Emily

Colors: A more vibrant mantis green! It’s very bright, but just reminds me of shining green eyes ^^

Personality: Very bubbly, they have an incredibly cheery personality!! They’re typically optimistic and see the glass as half full. They know that their own happiness is important, and try to stress to their friends that they should see it the same way. They go out of their way to make sure their friends know that they are valid, and are only satisfied when they see a genuine smile on their faces :)

Visual aesthetic: Vibrant colored fish swimming around in a large aquarium. Mermaid shows and bright green eyes. Shiny objects laying on the ground, and long walks on the beach while collecting sea shells. Cloudless days, and hot summer afternoons. Overall, a beach and summer visual really comes to mind :D
