my underappreciated teen wolf faves and yes i can elaborate if you want because i love them all so much (to clarify, they're not necessarily my absolute faves, just characters who i don't think get enough love):

chris argent jordan parrish coach scott mccall (YES he is underappreciated, argue with the wall) kira yukimura mason (WHAT is his last name guys bc i can't remember) plus jackson but in a sense that i don't always like him and i think he's a huge dick but i think he's got some really good complexities to him that they didn't explore enough (plus i got slightly attached writing a fic with an oc who's his twin sister - please read that on my wattpad and ignore the spelling mistakes while i fix it)

also we've reached over 400 followers! i know it might not seem like a lot especially compared with other writers, but this is so huge for me and i'm so thankful for every one of you. even though i'm fairly sure some of them are porn bots.

by this i mean when a character is a weird form of quirky that i can only describe as matching dialogue written by 12 year olds in old wattpad fanfics (specifically this one avengers one i read years ago that was all layers of insane and unfortunately cringey).

but i also mean that sometimes indicating an accent goes completely wrong. i've been binging ghost fics recently and watching people (americans specifically - don't kill me) trying to demonstrate his accent kills me. the moment you replace 'what' with 'wot' i want to crawl into a hole and die. it's not hot. because then i'm just focused way too much on that and not the rest of the fic, but also puts me in mind of other times i've heard the same type of accent. southern accents (english) aren't always like that, and it doesn't do a good job of showing the accent (the apostrophes don't always help either - i get it, he doesn't pronounce g's or something but if i've always got half a dozen apostrophes in one sentence to show it, it just looks weird to the eyes - DO NOT get me started on the 'ya's and 'yer's). i'm from essex so i'm pretty much surrounded by similar accents, and the 'wot's remind me of chavs specifically. i know plenty of people with the general essex accent and their whats don't sound like 'wot's. that pretty much always comes with attitude, apathy, and unintelligence (don't come at me for saying it's unintelligent - the accent isn't a sign of unintelligence, it's the 'wot' people that i know who are, and i know a lot of them, i'm from here, don't exactly have the accent, but i'm not making some class commentary, although actually reducing a character's dialogue to accent stereotypes like 'wot' could be seen as subtle classism but i'm not taking that route and i'm not saying it's a completely valid argument). plus, 'wot' isn't ever used as a question. it's used as a challenge. and i'm pretty sure his accent changes between different games (i know nothing about cod i just see tall muscly man and read it, but i'm pretty sure he's been anything from mancunian to londoner). it takes me right out of the fic.

sorry to rant. just needed to get it off my chest. i don't expect anyone to change anything, but people come on here to rant about much more mundane things. most jason todd writers have the accent thing down without overusing apostrophes or 'ya' or whatever, and i know they've got different accents, being from different countries, but it's a similar principle.

in the nicest way possible and with all the love in the world, i cannot take a fic seriously when the dialogue is written so unseriously
