Ok, Zoro is also more emotional to me than Luffy so I think the one who’s going to actually struggle accepting and learning about his feelings is Zoro because he always trains his body and mind and this is something he was absolutely not ready. But... what if it’s Luffy? What if his whole life he never even thought about love but when he met Zoro? Boom! Chaos, out of control, those storming feelings are flaming inside him just like when he’s dreaming about being the king of the pirates. He always acts funny around Zoro and treats him differently and perhaps this bothers him because he knows it’s not fair for others!

Anyway

Obv it’s not really canonical.

I needed to take a week off from work and commissions because I was really tired of constantly drawing only for others. So I dedicated this short period to just draw my source of serotonin. I’m back to work now!

Ps I already finished one commission this week but it’s not Tumblr friendly ;)

To be honest, I am not too familiar with the FF franchise. To mitigate, I did my research by way of reading fics off AO3 (lmao).

This helped me gain a firmer grasp of the characters and their respective personalities, and the dynamics of the relationship.

The end result is what you see here — the theme is loosely anchored in “star-crossed lovers” because sefikura consists of...99% angst, but I also tried to portray some glimmer of hope in the bottomless abyss notwithstanding.

ちょっと恥ずかしいですが、FFのことを全く知らない人間です。最初は本当にイラスト依頼を引き受けるか迷ってました。

思わずに「私に、務まるのか」と呟いてたほど。

FFの認識不足を補うため、リサーチと資料探しが絵を描くのと同じくらい時間かかりました。

しかし苦労こそあれ、イラストレーターの仕事はやりがいがありますよね（アマチュアですがw）

大まかに言えば、イラストのテーマは「薄幸な恋人」です。セフィクラにぴったりだなぁと。

さらに、夢見の思い出のような真っ赤に咲いた彼岸花のモチーフを通じて、より一層「切なさ」と「儚さ」を表せたい。

Hi anon! Sorry, I definitely have not addressed this elsewhere so thank you for asking. I was in the process of editing all its previous chapters last year and had planned on picking it up again, but I was also in the middle of moving house, which ended up taking over. Then I fell balls deep back into One Piece, then I finally moved house, then I had a month going EXTREMELY hard on Red/Blue from Pokémon (thanks to my bf linking me literally one cute fanart of them, lol)--and then Sakurai dropped Sephiroth into Smash. Since then it’s been Mercyrat levels of obsession with Cloud/Sephiroth. All this to say I’m not going back to BoM for now, sadly. It’s just not my radar atm as I’m really enjoying FFVII fandom, and all of my inspiration is for Sefikura currently. But I would still like to go back to it someday and finish it!
