►  NOW PLAYING  ───         kiha’s  always  dealt  with  injuries  alone,  so  it  throws  him  off  guard  when  someone  gives  him  attention.  and  it’s  the  good,  caring  kind  of  attention.  not  something  that  runs  on  deception  and  ulterior  intentions.  part  of  kiha’s  mind  viciously  hisses  at  him  to  make  jaxon  to  leave,  don’t  let  jaxon  get  involved,  jaxon  deserves  better  than  this  mess—  but  god.  kiha  discovers  how  selfish  he  is  these  days.  he  likes  jaxon’s  company,  even  just  being  able  to  return  to  him  after  a  job.  “ already  up  and  having  cute  bed  hair ? ”  kiha  remarks  with  a  playful  grin.  if  his  hands  weren’t  fucked  up,  kiha  may  reach  out  to  give  a  headpat  or  two.  he  looks  over  the  wounds  while  taking  a  seat.  “ no  stitches  needed.  just  some  cleaning  and  ointment  will  do. "  (  he  sutured  himself  the  other  night,  the  sitches  hidden  under  black  denim  jeans.  ) ” thanks  for  helping.“  his  smile  reaches  his  eyes.  ” i’ll  cook  for  you  tomorrow. or  we  can  order  take  out ? whatever  you  want. “

❪ ☀️ ❫  ───  he felt his cheeks flush slightly at having been called - out, pursing his lips into a pout at the tease before sticking out his tongue childishly in kiha’s direction.     “ listen, my pillow is a very skilled negotiator, okay? and it’s sexy bedhead. jerk. ”     a moment like this, the false security blanket of normalcy that wrapped around them, was much needed.  jaxson was afraid that if he inspected too closely, let himself think too hard about the lacerations on the other mans skin, he may break down in tears because how did this happen? who did this? did someone want to hurt kiha? what if they came back? oh god, what if they  killed  him?  ─  no.  that was just what he was trying to avoid.  he needed to focus on the moment, on making sure that everything was fine right now.  he could freak out about the future  ‘ what if’s ’  later.  he hummed to clear his mind, grabbing the new tube of ointment and the gauze before making his way over to where the other man sat.  it was hard to hide the worry in his eyes   ( he was always so bad at hiding his emotions, and he knew that if one inspected closely, it could be seen plain as day ),   but instead of breaking the atmosphere they created he took a shaky breath and uncapped the tube and got to work.

   “ mmm, do i really want to trust you with the stove? ”     he teased, raising a brow, smearing the cream along kiha’s arm as gently as he could.     “ i do really want some homemade lasagna, though... ”      his attention shifted to the other man’s hands, absently running his fingers over the bruised knuckles.  the urge to kiss them were great but instead he focused on taking care of the skin there.     “ how about to we cook together? feels like i need to keep a closer eye on you. ”     the implied  ‘  i need to make sure you come back to me ’   went unspoken.

❪ ☀️ ❫  ───  with furrowed brows the blond lets dual colored eyes roam along the other’s body through the mirror, taking in the freshly bruised skin with a barely contained wince.  the sight worries him, it always did, but finding kiha in such a state was so normal by this point that he feels his body move before his brain catches up.  jaxson maneuvers quietly around the bathroom in search of the first aid kit, sighing as he finds it hidden  ( poorly, he might add )  behind the trashcan.    “ don’t worry my ass, ”     he huffs petulantly, placing the kit onto the open area of the countertop, gently hip - checking the other man as he does so.    “ and i was up already, anyway, so... ”    a lie.  his bedhead  was the tell - tale sign he had fallen into a deep sleep before the banging of someone entering the apartment startled him into falling from the bed.  a finger extends out, pointing to the toilet seat without sparing a glance over as nimble fingers shifted through the box's contents.    “ sit. wanna make sure this gets taken care of the right way. don’t want you scarring and shit. ”    a pause, then,    “ ...please tell me you don’t have anything that needs stitches... ”
