Personal Eastward Headcanons

Alright I wanted to list out some head-canons I have for the characters of eastward, this’ll grow overtime and I’ll likely add more characters as I go on since I’m clearly not gonna shut up about this game.

These are head-canons so most if not all my thoughts aren’t from the actual game eastward, and instead are traits or ideas I gained from my personal interpretation while playing the game.

These head-cannons may contain;

Mentions of mild nudity or NSFW (18+). (I will make sure to also separate the NSFW takes from the regular ones if I do write any)

Visual changes to the original character(s) designs’.

Backstory ideas for certain characters.

And whatever else I wanna jot down, as this list will grow overtime/change.

Alva

Alva is the princess of new dam city in the game eastward. Her main traits are that she is an extraordinarily intelligent and has no issue understanding the great beyond, but is shown in the game to enjoy alcoholic beverages.

I feel like I need to firstly explain the head cannon design I did for Alva 😭 it’s a big reason for this explanation in the first place and seems to be the only way I want to draw her.

I decided to take the hoodie off her head as during the bath house scene in main game Eastward we get to see she has long pink hair that basically touches the floor and I’m sorry but I absolutely fell in love with it.

For the gapped tooth I gave her I thought she probably got it when she fell over or something because despite her smarts I think of her as clumsy from moving around too fast. (This also goes for the scars I littered on her face)

The lab coat, jump suit, tool belt, are pretty self explanatory, she’s a scientist who also loves mechanics so I decided to show that off more in her design while keeping most of her original colors.

Another side note, I like to think Alva is taller than Izzy, not by too much (Alva; 5”8 & Izzy; 5”5) but just enough for there to be a visual difference.

Izzy (Isabel)

Isabel (aka; Izzy) is the robot guard and sole protector of Alva, she was presumably created by Alvas’ father and has been with her since childhood.

I didn’t really change anything visually about Izzy, I have her jacket a few visible stitches since I assumed she would’ve ripped her jacket during a fight. But to be frank I already love her design so not much to change.

I think Izzy to be shorter than Isabel but is definitely the stronger one out of the pair and absolutely has no issue fighting a foe that may be much bigger than her.

I like to think that Isabel does have a module or component in her body that helps her process feelings, and this module soon turns into something greater as the years go by, allowing her to understand Alvas’ thoughts and feelings more.

I head cannon that Izzy is inherently a violent person, mostly because she is a robot with the sole purpose of protecting Alva, but when there’s no danger she’s pretty chill.

6-year-old Joan Al-Habil is has been repeatedly hospitalized due to severe gastrointestinal problems and overwhelming fatigue. This poor girl has been to multiple facilities and seen multiple doctors, undergone extensive testing (as extensive as is possible in Gaza's collapsed medical system), even having to endure an unsedated endoscopy.

She has now been diagnosed with severe gastritis due to starvation and hazardous living conditions. Remember, she and her family are living on the streets, which are cold and wet due to winter rain. Homelessness, stress, exposure to the elements, her previous injury when the lOF firebombed her tent, and malnutrition all conspire to sap little Joan of her strength.

Her condition is so serious that she even had to undergo surgery. Gastritis very rarely requires surgery to treat, so this is an indication of how dire her condition is. The surgery was successful to a degree, but she is going to need ongoing treatment to manage her symptoms.

The treatments are administered weekly and cost $500 USD (just under €500 EUR). Her family has no income and cannot afford this. If Joan goes more than a few days without treatment, her symptoms worsen rapidly, and she sometimes has to be hospitalized. It is vital that we help her family procure her treatments so that her condition does not worsen!

I am Heba Al-Dahdouh. I currently live in the completely destroyed city of Gaza. Since the war on Gaza began on 7/1/2024, my family- my father Nasif, my mother Asmaa, and my siblings Khaled, Ahmad, Muhammad, and Malak-have been living in constant fear, crying, and suffering due to shrapnel, shells, and bullets.

We have no food, no electricity, no cooking gas, no schools, no homes, no cleaning supplies, and no clothes. My school has been bombed, and my brother Khaled's university is now rubble, depriving us all of education. The war has forced us to live in displacement centers, which are just tents unsuitable for living, especially in winter.

Every day we live death, terror, and panic a thousand times because of the ongoing bombardment of my city. The war has killed more than 50 of my relatives and neighbors. At the start of the war, we sought refuge at my aunt's house, . Imagine: we have survived imminent death more than 20 times and have been displaced among shelters more than 13 times. My siblings and I have suffered from many illnesses due to malnutrition, and we need medication continuously.

If we stay in Gaza, we might lose our lives. Recently, we have been seriously considering leaving Gaza for a safe place. However, travel costs are extremely high. We need over $50,000 to leave Gaza. Due to exorbitant prices, rampant unemployment, lack of security, the ongoing siege, and relentless bombardment, we have lost all our money. How can we live in such insecurity, with constant shelling and shrapnel flying above us? Dear compassionate friends around the world,
