funny little necromancy lads get a funny little necromancy explanation :D
How Necromancy Works
This is an explanation as to how the powers of Necromacy work in the world of 'Welcome To VPI'.
Due to the fact that Depth is deep underground, its surrounded by a specific formation of gemstones which are not found elsewhere. These gemstones being Rhoylite, Niralite and Nonacyte. These three gemstones, when formed and combined together through the pressures of being underground, form a structure called "Fida's Formation " (named after Pynel Fida, the scientist to first discover it). The gemstones combine and bond to create large, endless (but not repeating) patterns.
Nobody has been able to perfectly replicate the formation due to how intricate it is, and while attempts have been, the formatting of these gemstones is simply too complex to be recreated above ground in a scientific setting. These clusters of Rhoylite, Niralite and Nonacyte, in Fida's Formation, completely surround Depth. Due to this, they emit a non-harmful radiation all over the city, but mostly in the lower areas.
While this radiation doesn't effect adults, adolescents or toddlers, it does effect growing infants and babies are still growing within in the womb. The presence of the radiation from Fida's Formation causes the body to begin producing a specific chemical called 'Necromathane'. This chemical is stored in the back of the brain but slowly begins to seep into the front as the child grows up, eventually reaching all parts of the body. Scientists aren't sure how Necromathane works, but what is known is that it gives people the ability to connect with the dead matter and that small bits of Necromathane is stored all over the body, specifically within the bones.
When a person performs Necromancy, more Necromathane is sent to their finger tips, and allows them to raise the skeletal system of whoever they are bringing back from the dead, connecting with the Necromathane in corpses. Necromathane doesn't decompose, and is actually present in every human being in very small amounts.
Those in Depth just have more Necromathane, allowing them to control the Necromathane stored in the skeletal systems of skeletons. It cannot be used to control living skeletal systems, as Necromathane would also be present in the muscles and veins of a person, which means there are less concentrated masses of Necromathane, thus making it harder to pinpoint bones to control. Alongside this, the fact that the muscles still exist and Necromthane levels in a person are generally small, the person could easily fight against the control of a Necromancer, making it useless if theoretically possible.

!!! Go give this account a follow !!! If you want more content for my story, like worldbuilding, character info, and just additional tibits of info, this is you're one stop shop for all of those! It'd really mean alot to me :D
Hello! I'm Human, the owner of this blog. I'm here to talk about what this blog will be like
First things first, I am working on making this a group blog so that a few friends of mine can help run the blog. Anyone thats a part of this blog is someone who created a character for the story "Welcome to VPI".
Each of us will likely use some sort of indicator on who's posting. A masterlist on these will be created as the group blog is formed.
Most of what this blog posts will likely be the occasional update when theres a new chapter, rambles about our characters, and maybe even some incorrect quotes or fun facts about the cast.
"Welcome to VPI" is set in the city of Depth, an unusual city located underground. Although its location isn't the only abnormal thing about it. This city has earned the title of the "Undead City", due to the Necromancing abilities that residents of Depth possess. Skeletons roam the streets alongside normal folk, their existence a normal part of everyday life.
Within this city resides a bodyguarding agency, VPI, that primarily uses Necromancers to provide protection to anyone willing to pay a high enough price. Run by eccentric fiances, Evelyn and Marcus, VPI has been used internationally for their services.
This story follows Team 2 of VPI as they take on a job that turns out to be more deadly than anticipated.
With found family dynamics, action, mysteries, lies, and perhaps a pinch of betrayal and gore, you can read it all on AO3!

I love how many hobbies there are that are just. Humans watching things.
'Birdwatching', 'cloud watching', 'car spotting', 'aircraft spotting', 'storm chasing', 'sea watching', 'satellite watching', 'star gazing' The list goes on! Like literally people have entire hobbies that are just. Observation. Watching, looking at the world around us and taking it in. There's a certain peace and beauty when you stop and just. Look. There's so many things we miss in our day to day lives, and taking a moment to just stop and look at things and take in all their complexities or simplicities and how those things interact with the world is so fascinating and cool and aaaaa! Its really cool imo

God this hits so close to home. Writing has always been a form of escapism for me-

expressing love is hard
yknow, I find it ironic how, as a writer, I often find it hard to express my love - whether it be platonic or romantic - in a written form. I'd be able to describe how the leaves of a forest glimmer and gloss in the sunlight, how the winds of fantasy worlds are so wispy and mystical that they could be its own, breathing life-form, I could describe the crushing, gnawing feeling of dread that'd sick to a protagonist's heart, and the sweet, divine smell of home once they'd finally return to those their family. But I've always found love hard. I find it hard to truly encapsulate how much I love someone in words. And it puzzled me, for a while. Because why the hell can I write these fantastical descriptions, and yet not simply be able to, coherently, tell someone how much they mean to me? I think I finally found out why - I have no idea if this is just a me thing, but I thought it was worth sharing. I think it's cause its too vast. To love someone is to hold a place for them in your heart. But as humans, our capacity to love isn't fixed - it's not a storage unit, where it can become full - it's infinite. There's a beautiful, infinite little pocket in our hearts, and we dedicate a portion of that to those closest to us. And these portions are shapeless, layered, convoluted, complex things which take up a vast amount of space within an infinite world. So for me to try and describe my love would be like an author trying to describe a lovecraftian monster (which is an odd analogy, but for some reason it works in my head??) - it'd just be impossible. And I don't think it'd be fair for me to try and describe it. It's so vast and pretty and beautiful, It wouldn't be fair for me to try and condense it down into some words, because then there's about a thousand things I'll obviously have to leave out, so then it just feels incomplete - because it IS incomplete. I will never be able to perfectly describe why each little aspect of someone's personality and their quirks and hobbies and speech and beauty makes me love them so much because there's far too many aspects with far too much depth (sometimes depth that even i don't understand, and its on a much more subconscious level.)
So I try to express my love for people in other ways. Gift-giving is a big one for me, and so is quality time with them. I dunno. I think its kinda cool how love can be something so vast and beautiful. How we, as humans, love with such purpose and passion and meaning and we can love infinitely. It gives me hope, yknow?
