Snow & Olive trees

Utterly white and silent, like we are the first and last three creatures to walk the Earth. I see it as if I were there, witnessing the three of us at the same time, like a director watching three actors improvising their way into a performance they will most certainly be known for, the one that will “put them on the map”. Except the director is not really there. It is only us three, and euphoria.

It is 1992 and it has snowed in our little village of ilBi'ni, north of Palestine (just because Palestine sounds better), for the first time in years. I am four years old. My brother Ziad is twelve, and my sister Yafa is six years old. I am meeting the world for the first time in my life in an olive yard next to the church across from our home. And the world is astonishingly small, safe, and warm. It is cold, but I don’t feel it. Loud, but I don’t hear it. Grand, but not in my eyes. This is my first human contact with planet Earth. From womb to womb. Heaven to heaven. This is where my story begins.

حوار بين الشيخ والمريد :-

قلت :- يا شيخى : متى يبدأ التجلى ؟

فقال :- حين ينتهى التحلى ،،

فقلت :- متى ينتهي التحلي ؟ فقال:- عند تمام التخلي

فقلت :- أي تخلي ؟

فقال :- عندما تتخلى النفوس عن شهواتها

فقلت :- أي الشهوات أخطر؟

قال :- غيبة في مخلوق ... ونظر الى حرام ... وغرور يصحبه رياء

فقلت :- وماهو الرياء ؟

قال :- التزين للناس من أجل الناس .... وهو قلب مقلوب عن الاخلاص

قلت :- وهل ينقلب القلب ؟

قال :- نعم إذا إنشغل بالناس عن رب الناس

قلت :- وماهو الإخلاص ؟

قال ::- أن تكون كلك لله ... من غير التفات منك الى حظوظ نفسك

قلت :- وماهي حظوظ النفس ؟

قال :- حب الظهور والرئاسة والتصدر والسلطنة

قلت : وماهو حبل النجاة ؟

قال :- حكم عقلك على هواك ... وقلبك على نفسك

قلت :- أليس العقل نعمة والقلب حكمة ؟

فقال :- نعم ولكن بشرط غياب الحجاب

فالعقل للملك لا للملكوت والقلب للفقه عن الله لا للمنازلات

عليك بالروح

قلت :- وماهي الروح ؟ قال :- سر قديم أودعه الله فينا

قلت :- كيف؟

قال تشرفت الإرواح بخطابه منذ الأزل فشهدت بما لم يشهده العقل والقلب

قلت :- وما الخطاب ؟ قال :- قوله تعالى :-

(وَإِذۡ أَخَذَ رَبُّكَ مِنۢ بَنِیۤ ءَادَمَ مِن ظُهُورِهِمۡ ذُرِّیَّتَهُمۡ وَأَشۡهَدَهُمۡ عَلَىٰۤ أَنفُسِهِمۡ أَلَسۡتُ بِرَبِّكُمۡۖ

قَالُوا۟ بَلَىٰ شَهِدۡنَاۤۚ أَن تَقُولُوا۟ یَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِیَـٰمَةِ إِنَّا كُنَّا عَنۡ هَـٰذَا غَـٰفِلِینَ)

قلت :- فلماذا الروح لا تسقي القلب والعقل من شعاعات النور ؟

قال :- لولا سقي الروح ماوجدت عبدا مؤمنا ولكن سقايتها على قدر صفاء العقل والقلب

قلت :- وكيف يصفو القلب ؟

قال :- الأنس بالله نور ساطع .... والأنس بالخلق هم واقع

قلت :- ماهي المحبة ؟

قال :- أن تحب ٱلَّذِی خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّاكَ فَعَدَلَكَ * فِیۤ أَیِّ صُورَةٍ مَّا شَاۤءَ رَكَّبَكَ ..

قلت :- وكيف السبيل لذلك ؟

قال محبة واتباع نبيه ورسوله الى خلقه صل عليه

فقلت :- وما الذى يسهل الطريق ؟ قال :- رضا النفس ،،

فقلت :- ومتى ترضى النفس ؟ فقال :- حين تتعافى السقام ،،

فقلت :- ومتى تتعافى السقام ؟

فقال :- حين ي��بت النور ،، ويذهب الزور

فقلت :- ومتى ينبت النور ؟ فقال :- حين تعتدل الرؤيه ،،

فقلت :- ومتى تعتدل الرؤيه؟ فقال :- حين يبدأ التأمل ،،

فقلت :- ومتى يبدأ التأمل ؟ فقال :- حين ينتهى الذنب ،،

فقلت :- ومتى ينتهى الذنب ؟ فقال :- حين تدمع العين ،،

فقلت :- ومتى تدمع العين؟ فقال :- حين تنظر الروح ،،

فقلت :- ومتى تنظر الروح ؟ فقال :- حين تبصر النفس ،،

فقلت :- ومتى تبصر النفس ؟ فقال :- حين يرى القلب ،،

فقلت :- ومتى يرى القلب ؟ قال :- حين تتجرد إليه وحده

قلت :- وما التجرد ؟

قال :- أن تتيقن ..كُلُّ مَنۡ عَلَیۡهَا فَانٍ * وَیَبۡقَىٰ وَجۡهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو ٱلۡجَلَـٰلِ وَٱلۡإِكۡرَامِ

فقلت :- متى أول رؤيا للقلوب ؟ فقال :- حين يولد الانسان ،

فقلت :- ومتى آخر رؤيا ؟ فقال :- حين يفنى الإنسان ،،

فقلت :- ومتى يفنى ؟ فقال :- حين يتصوف العبد ،،

فقلت :- وما التصوف ؟

فقال :- أن تزهد بكل شئ يشغلك عن مولاك
